This is going to be a difficult review to write Honestly, an experience at an Irish Bar/Hotel on St Patrick’s day may not be the best time to go and review a place But then, if there is a day to pull out all the stops, this is the day

So, I guess we’ll start the good The Band was amazing Really enjoyed them A good choice by the HotelThe Staff was doing really well at directing and managing crowds and were friendly enough Their system was a bit like a cafeteria (more on that later) You lined up and ordered and got a tent and somebody brought you food Ok, real simple, and not really a big dealI ordered the $16 corned beef and $11 Reuben Rolls/Irish Egg Rolls 27 Bucks might be rich on a normal day, but it’s Saint Patrick Day, so I paid, added a tip (which seems silly given the Cafeteria-style) But I am open to new experiences!I sat down with my Tent After a short time I noticed a busboy walking around with food in his hands He passed the table with the clearly displayed tent number 3-4 times I eventually waved him down Maybe I tipped too much and too soon?Disappointment is not a strong enough word for what I received This was a joke An insultI took pictures because I was shocked at the amounts provided I get that supply chain problems and costs are going up but sweet lord The potatoes were scooped, the peas and carrots tasted frozen It felt like a cafeteria meal I don’t know how else to describe the experience except awful Which is a shame, because ti’s a really nice looking place and the staff was nice enoughMaybe I’ll go back again When I give a review this disappointing I like to assume it’s a fluke It’s quite the drive for me though, so it may be some time

My family and I used the banquet room recently at the Clarke Hotel for a Celebration of Life for our loved one I wanted to share what an amazing event it turned out to be Our dedicated server Teresa was absolutely wonderful

Working with Heather throughout the process of coordinating was very easy The accommodations for the event were great And some of our out-of-town guests booked rooms at the hotel as it was very convenient We had looked for a reasonable and convenient place to host this event and in the end this ended up being the perfect spot They can accommodate up to 80 people in this room I was told Thank you so much! We will cherish the memory of this event

The lodge is nicely located to enjoy Milwaukee without having to deal with much traffic or crowds The room was a decent basic hotel room and we took full advantage of the mini fridge and microwave Josh, Jennifer, and Michelle were all amazing during our stay

The bar was open for the first time in two years during our stay and there were definitely a few kinks, but Michelle was very sweet and accommodating I had the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel thanks to Jennifer And Josh was a delight to chat with anytime we were coming or going He did a fantastic job keeping a family friendly hotel an enjoyable stay for a couple’s getaway too!

I selected this hotel based on price and location, and was rewarded with a lovely stay The Wildwood Lodge is the kind of property other independent hotels aspire to be, and they do it without the resources of a national brand Even though this is not a luxury accommodation, it was clean, very comfortable, and met my needs as a basic business traveler

I would like to specifically recognize staff members Josh and Amanda for their outgoing and courteous manner They each left me feeling like whatever I needed would be handled with a smile Well done!

So the check in was great and the staff to us seemed polite and nice, the breakfast was a typical continental hotel breakfast, but here is the doozy! The place is looking pretty rundown and needs a good maintenance team, the noise from outside was pretty loud, and the room was horribly cleaned It doesn’t seem like they did anything from the previous guests The toilet had dry urine on it, the bottom of the tub I would advise using flip flops in and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking your bedding before going to bed

The first impression is a lasting one and I will not be back to this place again

The staff was WONDERFUL – everyone with whom we came in contact I’ve never experienced such a wonderful staff in a hotel before The breakfasts were super good and there was coffee available all day

I was disappointed in my room The floor had numerous stains and the carpet was coming up The room was humid the entire time no matter what I did with the thermostatI was disappointed there was no cleaning of the rooms in the 4 nights I stayed, 5 nights for my parents I’ve never been I a hotel where this happens (except Africa)Our toilet had an issue one night, but there was no one on staff except the lady at the front desk, so I had to fix it or we had no toilet Fortunately it was an easy fix A 3-star hotel needs to have a remedy other than the customer! Again, we weren’t in Africa! Finally, our family was there on bereavement and booked 4 rooms We ended up with 3 different rates for bereavement rate I’m still trying to figure that one outI would probably go back if I needed to stay in the area, but there are these couple things that need help

Jill Spann

First the good stuff: the staff here were great, so helpful and attentive When we got to our room the TV remote batteries were dead, we called and they brought us a new one right up While the worker was there I asked her where we could find some plastic forks and she said they were at the front desk

Minutes later she was knocking at the door with a few sets of plastic ware for us which was really nice and not expected The room was very clean, the breakfast was great, the pool and hot tub are a pretty decent sizeNow the not so great stuff: the bed was not very comfortable, it was like sleeping on a really old mattress that has lost its squish and is all springs Like other reviews have said the chlorine in the pool area was so strong my eyes were burning even the next morning Also the pool was freezing cold, we entered the pool first and planned to finish up in the hot tub but after shrieking in the cold pool for a minute we decided to just go straight to the hot tub And finally, the elevator ride from hell I ride elevators a lot (I work in a hospital) so I’m not afraid of elevators I can tell you this elevator was the most terrifying one I’ve ever been on As the car passes each floor it shakes from side to side and jostles you around, and when we reached our floor before the doors opened it dropped a couple inches It’s also a very small elevator so the thought of getting stuck in that thing is terrifying We took the stairs the rest of our stay which was certainly better for our health but not what you’re looking for when you’re paying to stay at a hotel If you’re afraid of elevators plan to stay on the first floor or take the stairs Overall it was a fine stay but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again

Hank Zane

Stayed here for a night for a wedding Enjoyed the room, coffee and breakfast, and the pool and hot tub area We were here on a Saturday and there was a fire and get together in the courtyard, pretty chill vibe

There is a fitness area with treadmills and stationary bikes but didn’t get to try it out Overall a fun stay for a single night

It’s rare I have nothing negative to say about a hotel stay, but our 3 night stay at Avid was perfect Great value for the money The hotel is newer and the rooms were clean, nice large TV

Grab and go breakfast included in the morning that was always fully stocked with a good variety of choices Fresh coffee, tea, and water available all day All the staff we encountered was super nice You don’t get housekeeping everyday, but that’s pretty normal now They did come change out trash and swap out the towels right away when we requested it Good location with stores and restaurants nearby I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Char Custom

The staff are great and rooms are clean but there are design flaws that make it hard to sleep here The rooms have mirrors that reflect bright bathroom lights onto the bed which are motion activated and cannot be turned on or off The doors are also very heavy and slam, no matter how hard you try to resist them slamming, waking everyone in the surrounding rooms

The temperature controls also drift and even when we kept air-conditioning on all night at 66 it would climb ten degrees after a few hours and you would boil in the bedThe TV was amazing though

I was in town for a funeral and this hotel was the closest to my friend’s house It was convenient and close to shopping and local restaurants The room was clean and efficient, as it seemed to be a toned down version of your standard room, (e

g, no stationary, local directory, etc)The breakfast was decent enough for a free breakfast Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches are kind of gross and were the only real savory option givenOther than the breakfast, it was a good stay The staff was cool and the price is what I expected to spend on a hotel off the interstate

Had a King room Small but very efficient Lots ot nooks and hooks to put stuff

The lobby has a chic multi-use feel like a pool table The breakfast was standard for a hotel Thought it was a very cool approach to an economy-grade hotel Cheap, hip and efficientThis was my first stay at a Tru sub-brand for Hilton My only major complaint is the walls are very thin I heard conversations through the wall from the room next to me On the other side I could hear when the guests were walking Kind of a huge issue when you are staying in a hotel room

I would not normally pick Doubletree as a family hotel but in this case it was excellent We stayed on a Wednesday and had a great experience The desk staff was very friendly and accommodating to my young family

Gave the children cookies and warmly wished us a great stay The breakfast in the morning was limited but was delicious The kids had a great time in the pool, it is large and never gets above 3’6″ Most importantly the rooms were very clean I travel frequently and this is one of the cleanest rooms I have been in especially since there is a staffing shortage at the time I write this I cannot say enough about how well cared for this hotel is

This review is just for customer service, I haven’t even booked yet, the first time I called, I tried getting a connecting room with my sister, and the gentleman over the phone was super nice and helpful and I don’t remember his name, but was willing to help us get a connecting room My sister booked already and actually needed her suite, as I was told the suites don’t have a connecting room, which is totally fine Then I called back and I think it’s Greg or Craig, I apologize as I didn’t catch your name and I hope I’m close, but he is amazing! I just called him to see if he had any rooms next to my sisters suite as she was on the first floor, mind you I already booked through a 3rd party site just like my sister

I was thinking if I got a Suite, I would be next to her room, I wanted a room next to hers He said if I payed already, just keep my suite and he could put me just one floor above hers to keep us closer He also said if I wanted a room next to her suite he could book me in a double queen I had to give up my suite, but a double queen also works for my family and I I was able to cancel my booking I made online as he booked me over the phone right away for the double queen next to my sister’s suite, and sent me a confirmation right away!!!!! He is awesome, super informative and super helpful! Thank you! I’m excited for my stay and look forward to it!!!!! Lol my sister doesn’t even know I’m going to be her neighbor tomorrow, and that is so convenient and it will be nice for the kids as well!! Thank you so much for fast, informative and professional customer service! When booking into hotels that’s the first quality I look for, is the front desk/ customer service! I’m so happy and cannot wait for tomorrow!

Had to stay here for a baseball tournament we were playing in Rooms were ok, hot tub wasn’t working, in our room fee we paid for breakfast and got coupons and the lady that was working the breakfast area was very pushy about those coupons Breakfast price seems high for quality of food considering most hotels do similar for free

Also restaurant/bar in hotel was closed on a weekend Being from another state and staying for a tournament the convenience of having a restaurant on site was something we looked forward to but we had to go elsewhere Only stayed one night and left for a different hotel in area that was a little cheaper with better options

The guest clerk was very friendly and helpful The bed was comfortable and the location is perfect if you are in town for a show at the improv or to do shopping at the corners I removed 2 stars because of cleanliness

There was goo in the refrigerator in our room and the toilet had not been flushed from the previous guest The bathroom could use some updating as well as you had to flush the toilet twice for it to actually work Overall, would come back for the location

I sent an e-mail to your Hotel,I don’t know if you received itI was very disappointed in my stay, As a guest I should have been informed of the remodeling Also the price for a one night stay was excessive,Also when I returned for the evening to sleep I heard a barking dog at 10

30pm If pet’s are allowed there should be a floor dedicated to pets as the barking made it hard to fall asleepAnd in the morning as I took my luggage to my car I noticed a young girl digging through the trash barrel outside looking for cigarette butts as I am a smoker I gave some of my cigs I asked her if she was staying at the Hotel and she said no she worked there It was disgusting to have seen thatThen when checking out myself and and another guest were waiting over 15 minutes to check out the desk should be manned at all times, just a very disappointing experience

*** Update 6/6/22: Came back to stay for 2 nights so wanted to update The hotel is still under renovations They are working on the 1st floor so no avoiding it

Today they took out the “business center” and the exercise area is demolished I’m on the third floor and have only heard some minor construction noise during the day Room is nice, just very minor things that bother my ocd Phones work this time Lobby is not locked at night Breakfast had a good assortment and was delicious Raised my room rating from 2 stars to 4 stars ***The staff was great for my two night stay on July 3 and 4, 2020 My issues were with the facility It is newly remodeled which is great but they rushed to open back up and they missed a lot of details A staff member also admitted they rushed to open and they weren’t really ready In my room, there was still plastic on a ceiling light fixture with a sticker on it that said “remove before using”, a fire hazard I’m sure My room also didn’t have a smoke detector and had the wires just hanging there The room phones on the entire floor were not working The emergency flood light outside of my room was also missing The staff said they’d give me some credit on my Hilton Honors but didn’t offer to change my room or a discount or anything I wonder how many other rooms are in this condition Disappointed and not what I’ve come to expect from Hilton hotels

Old AmericInn pushing like it’s on it’s last leg Maybe I’m picky but there’s a list of things could be upgraded for the price to comparable hotels nearby Let me explain

Rooms smell like old basement Air conditioner has car freshener “Glade” inside the vents in attempt to mask the smell but obviously not working The “included breakfast” is bagged take out of banana, granola bar, orange juice, snack muffin and water There are no elevators in this hotel No support from staff to setup room tv for CC (closed caption) since I’m hearing impaired Bathroom fans are blowing air INTO the bathroom as opposed to sucking the air out of the bathroom No grab bars in shower Coffee maker has 6″ powercord and the only place to operate this is on the limited sink countertop space No doorman and generally seems like just one person managing front desk Whirl pool is out of commissionI definitely cannot recommend this hotel This is not what at I would call quality hotel The only plus I saw was one nice gentleman working the front desk answering questions in a friendly mannerPaying a discount at $129 for room + $16 tax/fee per night was nowhere near my expectations Will never visit here again

lornasback68

The owner was great Very friendly and helpfulHowever, the room smelled funky

No breakfast was provided (it stated online and in the book in the room breakfast was provided) This is an older building without any elevator, which we did not know prior to arrival It is a good thing to know We were on the 2nd floor and had luggage and a coolerThe bed was super comfortable The water pressure in the shower was excellent

Ellie G

NEEDS an update I felt okay sleeping in the beds and sheets were nice and clean, but the rest of it needs to be updated Mildew smell in the bathroom, very small

Hallways had plug in air fresheners to cover up smells Current breakfast is a small “sack lunch” to go Staff was friendly and check in and out was smooth Could be a nice little hotel with some needed upgrades

Walked in to reserve at 10 pm, got to the room and it was hot and smelly, shoes stuck to the carpet My kids were sketched out upon arrival of hotel, they must have extended stays on first floor- people were peeking out their windows We were there for 5 minutes and decided we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping there

Rate was $180 and definitely not worth that Immediately checked out, front office gal said she couldn’t refund my money Manager confirmed; rudely through email because he wasn’t there Got emails saying the manager “checked out the hotel room and it was clean” Drove 40 minutes north to Germantown and stayed in a nice Country Inn and Suites for half the price

Dylan Knoespel

Don’t stay here I stayed here two nights When I came back to my room the 2nd night, the bed was made so I knew housekeeping came to change sheets

When I went to get into bed, I realized there was blood on the fresh sheets, which was not there in the morning when I left…totally disgusting I talked to the front desk and exchanged emails with the manager, asking for a refund for my 2nd night The manager refused to understand my position, and continually claimed that there was no blood on the sheets, and that the staff wouldn’t have even touched the sheets or made the bed with blood on them He also claimed it could have been there from me from my first night sleeping, but why would his staff have made the bed if his other comment was true?? I will never stay at another Baymont

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable The fitness room was a joke The TV wouldn’t come on nor the treadmill

I took a Clorox wipe to wipe down the equipment I used and it was filthy!!! I meant to take pictures but forgot The elevator is EXTREMELY SLOW!! The breakfast looked good We didn’t eat though All in all I would stay here again

James Nielsen

Prices for these rooms are NOT worth it Elevator worked 1/2 of the time Kids running up and down the hallways all hours of the night and staff did nothing

The hot tub was constantly filled with kids, even when they’re not supposed to be in the hot tub without parental supervision No adult time whatsoever This is NOT the place to come and relax You will leave more stressed than when you came Trust me My wife and I will NEVER come here again!
