Last minute stop for the night with the kiddos Jennifer at the front desk was absolutely amazing! Her customer service is top notch! I haven’t felt this taken care of in a long time She knows everything about this cute gem and will ensure you’re taken care of! We’re super excited to put in our breakfast order and have it brought to our room in the morning! Our room is very clean and the price was good for the area

No complaints I would stay here again on our next adventure Especially if Jennifer is still here!!

D Saykaly

We entered the lobby the smell is horrible! The floors are uneven and covered with carpet The AC leaked on the carpet huge wet spot! Throughout the years the re-painting and remodeling that has been done is subpar I thought it would be cool because it was historical when we got there we realized we had made a huge mistake! The staff was nice! The pool was fantastic! Don’t get a corner room near the intersection or you will not get a good nights rest! Single paned windows

Lastly we really enjoyed watching the drug deals at the Shell gas stationed across the street! At night nobody buys gas they park at the pump Wait for the kid to show up on the bicycle after that cars take off! It was a great source of entertainment Definitely will not be back! Breakfast was a joke!

This is an Old historic hotel, so take it for what it is and appreciate it The rooms are spacious and cozy The staff is so accommodating and on point

The place is well taken care of It is a pet friendly place and I must say it does not smell like dog in the premises In the morning the coffee ran out, and the staff was quick to run out with a small pot while the big pot was brewing so no one had to wait They really care about the property and take pride Housekeeping left extra towels and toiletries folded so cute on the bed on our 2nd day,and I appreciate these details Breakfast delivered to the room was a special treat!!! Simple and tasty!!! I can go on and on

I could go on and on about this place! My boyfriend and I decided to book this trip last minute and we were scrambling for a place to stay I came across Johns Pass Beach Motel on the Booking app, as we were wanting to stay on the beachfront and in a fairly average price range We had to get a later flight coming into Treasure Island and so I messaged the motel on the Booking app and within a couple of hours I received a response and they stated late check in is just fine we just need to let them know day of that we will be doing late check in and so I did just that

Once again, they were quick with response We were a little nervous about doing late check in, especially with a smaller motel but it all worked out perfectly More than perfect We told the motel we would be arriving around 2 AM (our late check in time after the flight) They told us that the door would just stay unlocked and keys would be right inside the door on a countertop and we would just check in at the front desk in the morning All of that went extremely smoothly Rose is who we spoke to most at the front desk and checked us in and also checked us out and she is such a wonderful, kind, genuine human I don’t know if it’s Rose we are reviewing or if it’s Johns Pass Beach Motel but both were outstanding in our books Such a cute little place right on the beachfront with such character and personality Everything is tropical feeling and cheery Also, felt completely safe Rose was accommodating from the time we checked in until the time we checked out Extremely pleasant stay and we will be back and in the meantime, we will also recommend Johns Pass Beach Motel to anyone coming down to Treasure Island

Mishelle Dykes

Where to begin This place was heavenly I stayed in room 6 it was perfect! The room was cleaner than clean

I felt so at home there Rose was amazing She seemed to always be around with a smile on her face She treated me like family The pool was so amazing I timed it and it took me a minute and twenty seconds to walk from my room to the ocean The beach was quiet and also very clean There is a rock like pier spot just a tiny bit away with benches to watch the water I enjoyed it so much I hated to leave and can’t wait to go back Oh and there is a little spot on site that has a washer and dryer to use it worked great and another little spot where you can use the motels chairs and umbrellas and other similar items with no extra cost for the beach Trust me you don’t want to miss enjoying this beautiful place So happy I took the chancebest decision ever! Thank you so much Mrs Rose for everything!!

Sharon Williams

Very clean rooms, the pool is great!! Beach beautiful and love it’s just a short distance from our room, felt like it was in our back yard! Room 6 is perfect, nestle in the corner a few steps from the pool and the balcony that you can gather around and enjoy the fabulous view of the beach Will definitely be back and hope to have room 6 again!

Booked it for a last minute getaway as the rate was affordable and looked like a cute spot We are a couple and stayed 3 nights in room #8 Enough space for both of us

Room was clean, AC worked great; especially after returning from the hot sun I appreciate the mini kitchen with a full size fridge that had what we needed for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach Decor was modern, bed was comfortable, they even had a can opener and I actually needed one! Pool area was neat and well kept as well Beach access is directly across, a 5 minute walk and you are hitting the sand It was a 5 minute drive to Johns Pass Village It’s a quiet and cozy place and it was great It’s obvious the owners take pride on this place and it shows

Celesta Martins

We stayed here in April 2022 unit 6, this place is awesome The pool is great Both sunny and shaded areas to sit and enjoy the pool

It’s right across the street from Public beach access Bonus there is an ice cream shop right across the street too The room had ample space and a full kitchen Our first night we cooked dinner at our room, all the pots and pans and dishes we needed Coffee maker thank goodness for that coffee maker The staff was awesome in providing for us They even have beach toys you can borrow for the beach I can’t say enough good things about this place We loved Cant wait to come spend another vacation here

Maxwell Heidenson

We had an amazing time at the BBR! Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful The room (unit 10) was very comfortable for our family of 4 (kids ages 3 and 8), the pool was amazing and our kids would have stayed in it all day if we let themThe location is great, just a quick walk across the street to the awesome shake shop (which had the best and cheapest ice cream we had all trip) and the beach

We would definitely stay here again since the staff was amazing (especially Katie!), accommodations were everything we needed and the location was within walking distance to find great food, drinks and shopping! Thanks again!

Most of all its on the beach and the view is breath taking There is a pool and big hot tub They will let small pets come along for the same price

There is a little bit of everything around you and great restaurants The inside was nice, clean but the bed was NOT comfortable Hard as a rock, but if you like that, then this is your spotDecently priced for beach front!

Shhh

Don’t tell anyone about this cute little gem I want a room here next year All the amenities, kitchen, comfortable beds, and directly on the beach Not like these other places that are beach adjacent I think they use the term beach access Not everyone will appreciate this stop in time Classic building near all things beach It’s okay if you think things look run down and shabby You can take your Hyatt/Radisson money else where My family and myself can’t wait to go back to the Schooner A great historical beach hotel

Staff was VERY friendly and accommodating The hotel and rooms were VERY clean The hotel I stayed in the night before allowed pets and our room smelt like dog and made our allergies go crazy

So it was a huge relief to be able to stay in such a nice, clean room at the Fairfield InnThey also had an actual hot breakfast bar and not the “grab and go” style with cold muffins & a banana The food was great for a free breakfastI highly recommend this hotel I literally have nothing bad to say about it It was worth every penny

Irmarie Govind

Amazing property in St Pete Beautiful, impeccably clean, attentive staff and great location

I’m giving it two stars because the pool area was nice, but that’s where the nice ends The room was not clean Floors were filthy

I found public hair on the toilet paper holder and bright red hair in the bathtub (no one in our group has that color hair) The pullout couch was nasty dirty I didn’t want my kids sitting on it Sorry Sands You guys need to up your game a little here For the price, it was no where near worth it Would never go back to this place Can not recommend Thank goodness we were only there one night If it were longer, I would have walked out and found another hotel

Kasper Warming

Booked two nights here and came late on arrival day, and all people we saw there where elder really drunk people and next morning we woke up to a bathroom filled with bugs and a balcony that for sure was not cleanedSo this morning we packed up all our stuff in a hurry and left to find a better place for my family, didn’t even care about that we have pay for two nights, just had to get outLocation is great but that is the most positive I can say about this place, shown on hotels

com as an hotel but is a motelSure it has been really great in 74 when built, but it needs a lot of work done to it, just to be a three star motel, have seen two star places in better conditions

Becky More

This is a hidden gem!! Definitely a older hotel but the charm and atmosphere takes you back in time when life was much more simple and relaxed

I needed a room at the last minute saw mixed reviews so I drove to The Sands they had 1 room left and I asked to see it before I booked it Great view, clean and comfortable I booked it and enjoyed our stay Ms Linda and her housekeeping crew waere awesome and the folks in the front office were great!!!! We will definitely stay here when we travel back to Treasure Island!!! Thanks again we loved it!!!

Loved this place Staff was great The rooms were nice

I think due to staff shortage we didn’t get any service to our room, but we grabbed some extra towels as that was all we needed Close to the beach ⛱ which was right across the street Close to tourist hang outs We were told there is a free taxi service if you ask at the front desk Had a nice free breakfast buffet I would highly recommend this place The prices are very reasonable

Christine lumbasio

A frequent traveler and always stayed at this place! This time went with my 20 month old son and the staff was absolutely amazing!!! Deborah was knowledgeable and accommodating We loved our room cause it was facing the marina and my son LOVES boats The beach is a little walk but SO worth it! If you are traveling with babies make sure you use the stroller to go to the beach, there is a paved path and once you get on the sand very easy to navigate

Also, the bartender at the tiki was very friendly and we stayed here a whole week and had a great time!!! We will be back! Thank you:-)

Emily Tidwell

We had a great time and everyone was friendly But wanted to share a few things that bothered us for place that said it was a resort1

The pool was not kept very clean I understand its tourist season but it should be closed for at least 45 minutes halfway during the day just to clean it At times it was very nasty2 The pool towels were not maintained Hardly ever did they have towels stocked at the pool We tried to enjoy the hot tub but half the jets didn’t work Like they were clogged up by something3 We really liked the Cabana bar but we kept feeling like we’re going to fall into the chairs They were very damaged4 The breakfast was good but if you came 45 mins to an hour before they stop serving then you probably weren’t going to get much There were some days that the breakfast trays weren’t refilled

The staff was friendly and helpful but the cleaning staff need to be fired Every surface starting from the elevator door, tiled floors to the furniture in the rooms have not been wiped in a long time I had to wipe down all the furniture in my room due to the visible finger prints ,dirt and dust

The bed linens appeared clean The rugs were filthy The rooms and furniture are visibly dated and the hotel has an “old” smell to it I would not stay here again We paid $180/night including taxes Not exactly cheap for this level of hotel The breakfast was also not great Pretty bland

Claudia Raye

The was by far the filthiest place I’ve ever stayed Well

I didn’t stay I left!!! I will NEVER go v to this hotel again I had an asthma attack when I walked in the room The cart was filthy, so filthy i didn’t want to put my clothes on it The outside looked like it never been cleaned ever It STUNK BADLY!!! Then the front desk person had the nerve to charge me for the room even though i couldn’t breathe in this nasty place

FloridaStateFan 2017

I stayed at this hotel before heading to Miami for a cruise, and all I can say is that it’s not really up to par with some other hotels within the regionOne positive aspect of the hotel is that the staff members are quite friendly; especially one of whom who just so happens to be an Atlanta Braves fan (Go Braves!!) Another great aspect of the hotel was its coffee

It didn’t as bad as I thought typical hotel coffee would The rooms themselves also looked quite innocent and clean, including the carpetThe main negatives that I have about the hotel just so happens to be within the bathroom and bed In my room, the bed sheets looked somewhat wrinkled and only had half pillows available The worst of the negative aspects took place in the bathroom, where I found small black hairs (some long hairs, too) inside the bathtub (“Bwaaa!” [Hank Hill])!Overall, this was not my ideal stay at a hotel in Florida; and I had better experiences in my past, especially at a hotel in Kennesaw, GeorgiaTo the staff members who DO see this review, I’m sorry if this sounded a bit harsh, but there are some things that you need to improve on

The room and location are awesome Never had a need for Service so can’t say either way Spacious room, nice little vacation kitchen, close to all kinds off things to do

Great place Only complaint, as a “Resort”, maybe put in the curved shower curtain The bathroom was like a spare rooms bathroom with a small shower and straight bar Was very tight Fat people go on vacation too! It’s an older place, but very clean, AC worked great, and the doors going out to the beach were amazingly soundproof For the price, it was a definite value

Greg Olyansky

Nice place with friendly staff Bring things with you to the beach like food, its a long walk and no immediate options available for eats Rooms were cleaned every day

A nice stay for several days Beach is good quality Bring plenty of change and cash for umbrellas/chairs, its not cheap Nice pool and nice hot tub Bar is pretty good too Strong alcoholic beverages

Nathan Milam

We had an issue checking in and thankfully after some back and forth with the front desk, their manager, Donna, was able to resolve everything and make our vacation a success Miss Doris from house keeping was very kind and attentive and we love the hilarious bartender I can not stress enough how grateful we are to Donna for saving our trip

We’ll definitely be back and can happily recommend this resort

I usually have no issues with IHG hotels but this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had Luckily we were only there one night Dirty dirty rooms!Upon check-in, the first room we were sent to smelled like someone had just been smoking in there

The cigarettes smell was very strong and I thought they accidentally sent us to a smoking room I called the front desk and the response when I said it smelled like someone had been smoking in there was “I’m not sure maybe it’s haunted” What a unprofessional and awkward thing to say We asked to switch roomsThe second room we were given smelled even worse Immediately upon walking in it smelled like bleach and chlorine There was also a small mold air purifying machine in there with words that literally said “warning, do not use when space is occupied” We told the desk again and the clerk said “oh yeah I forgot, I can just take out the machine” We said absolutely not We’re not staying in a room that has mold and reeks of bleach when we have 2 toddlers with usThe last room we were given smelled fine But all the rooms were dirty, especially in the bathrooms The showers had a film of dirt or sand on the bottom We all ended up wearing flip flops in there because we didn’t want to put our bear feet on the groundOverall I would sleep in my car before paying to stay at this hotel again

Joe Bullen

Danny at the front desk provided outstanding customer service I booked a room with a king-sized bed online However, the hotel had no more rooms with a king-sized bed, so he upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge

There was a burned out light in the room The room had a slight moldy smell that set me sneezing after showering Walls are thin so bass and conversation from other rooms does carry into your room Deducting a point for this factAlso, beds here are not nearly as comfortable as other Holiday Inn Express hotels Might go back to Doubletree again I just think this hotel might need updating Bathrooms were clean though

Greg S

This is such a great hotel and Danny at the front desk was so very helpful All the staff has be very nice and courteous This place is so clean and the up lighting in the rooms is amazing

The location is great for vacation you can be to the north or south end of the county in 20 minutes It’s also only about 20 minutes to Tampa or 45 minutes to Bradenton Thier breakfast is great also

First time staying at the Bungalows in Treasure Island It’s a nice place Clean nice heated pool and walking distance to the ocean

The fall back is if you are planning on sleeping especially on the weekend this is not the place There was a couple of families and then their friends came over and they partied all day and night Way pass 3 in morning Had to go home for sleep That happened 2 nights in a roll And for the money you pay you should have some piece when your on vacation Not here

Shelley Harty

We stayed at the Bungalow years ago It was much better at that time This time we had some issues

In our unit, there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom I could not find a mirror near an electrical outlet so I could not blow dry my hair Our grandson walked around on the floors with bare feet and soles of his feet were black from the floors Our bathroom sink filled up with water because it drained so slow Almost all the TV controllers had issues We had to unplug the main room TV to get it to turn off The outdoor chairs were coming apart so we had to be careful it didn’t collapse on usOur sons also rented 2 other units and in one bedroom, the fan was missing a blade Our other son in his unit, found three large dead roaches He turned on the dishwasher and it made the place smell horrific The disposal didn’t work so the sink backed up We paid a cleaning fee plus the unit rental fee so we did expect everything to work and floors to be clean On the positive, the linens and rest seemed to be clean The pool was nice and beach location was good We would consider coming back if we find out these issues were resolved

Tesa Martin

Advertised as a home away from home, it is ! We are a family of four plus the dog and had an espectacular time at The Bungalows last weekend The place is well kept, has a swimming pool, is located right across the street from Treasure Island Beach and walking distance from Johns Pass Our room was awesome, 2 queen beds, great ac, great well equipped kitchen, awesome bathroom and the best part is that it has its own porch where we had drinks until late at night without bothering anybody

We will definitely return here Piece of advise is keep an eye on ac filters since they tend to get dirtier y sea side and make sure to check all spaces since we found a dog bone under the sofa that belonged to someone else

They never had ice on premises They said to use the ice in the freezer in our room That isn’t going to fill my cooler up for the beach The key cards are a hit or miss That’s fun with kids standing there for 20 minutes trying to get in your room Check in I went in at 4 pm and of course they stated not ready so I waited there well in come two customers to check in they took them right away and their rooms were ready We waited 45 minutes for ours This hotel is not cheap and to be treated so poorly and to not have working key cards at all times or ice on premises and horrible staff is totally unacceptable The room itself was very nice No complaints and our stay was good The ac is set to 85 so I would suggest you set it to 72 and go out to the beach, when you get back a few hours later it’s about 75 much nicer ! Parking they say is for two vehicles but that’s only if there is a spot available It’s not a private beach like the websites say It allows public access hence why there’s no places to park if you have more than One vehicle I hope that they train their staff to be more respectful to the people who pay to keep the hotels lights on and their paycheck I wouldn’t give them a one star because like I said the room was nice The property itself was ok Nothing that qualifies for that cost per night

Just south of John’s Pass, an open air, waterfront tourist destination you won’t want to miss Great restaurants and unique specialty shops, boat and jet ski rentals There are dolphin watch cruises

Just across Gulf Blvd is great fishing from the sea wall lining the pass which flows under a draw bridge After all the fun return to the comfort and quiet of the vistas Lay by the pool, take a walk on the beautiful beach, have an exotic cocktail at the full service bar or order in room service It’s a fantastic location with 5 star service and amenities

First the “good”

we stayed in one of the penthouses which was as big as our home! Love the spacious master and the fabulous gulf front view We appreciated having two parking spaces available for the penthouse stay The guest parking available on property is very convenient and very hard to find ANYWHERE else along the beaches The security on property were friendly and helpful Now the “not so good”cleanliness is clearly a problem in the unit we rented 🙁 The air filters were filthy and the air handler unit was COATED in dirt We called to have it attended to and it was taken care of the following day Dishes were dirty (glad I always travel with my paper products)! Fridge exterior and stove were not clean, sliding door tracks were reallllllly dirty, and the hot tub did not have hot water! I sincerely hope the management team reads these reviews and follows up with the people responsible for maintaining this property We live locally and most likely will be booking again but would sure love to not have to be our own cleaning crew upon check-in next time we visit

Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here I am a Marriott Gold Member and the hotel was very dated The first room I checked into had a dirty toilet seat and an air condition vent that sounded like a JET was taking off

I moved to a second room and at 3 am the SMOKE DETECTOR went off blaring then it happened again at 5 am They replaced the detector the next day I had to ask to be compensated and the front desk Manager Tanya was less than pleasant and not apologetic I was attending a business training at the hotel and there were ants all over the coffee machine and stale bagels and expired soda were served The employees helping out with the training were very friendly and helpful which was a bright side to the trip

I was there at the beginning of the month in my monthly training at MGE… we got in super late after a 4 hour drive… I was very tiered when we got to the room we noticed it was a bit warm … long story short the AC was broken! Called the front desk and told them… not only did they immediately change our rooms but the brought the key to our door so we did not have to go back to the lobby!! In the middle of the night this was awesome

Me and my family went here on a short vacation This was an experience we will never forget The bed was horribly uncomfortable, the pillows were to soft they did not support our necks my husband and I barley slept due to this issue

The ice maker on the floor was so dirty that I would never ever ever even think about getting ice from there They charged for the WiFi 1295 a day Parking was at a minimum because they are repaving the parking lot The restaurant does not have a kid friendly menu or reseasonable prices The room floors are hardwood so when room service came they should have sweept the floor but all they did was make the bed and put out new towels We decided that we will not stay here again when we go back to Florida

Excellent service A great deal for being right on the gulf Nice, clean, well stocked room

It’s a small little salty 2 level motel it is very well taken care of & clean My only issue about TI beachfront resorts is that you are still a 15 minute walk to the beach This of course is no fault of the resorts They all seem to be off the beach I just personally like to walk out of my door and be on the beach in about 2 minutes

Giving this place a solid 5 stars! My friends and I stayed for 4 nights last week and we couldn’t have asked for more Spacious well equipped room with a wonderful balcony (sunset view included with ours!), awesome front desk associates with great suggestions, super duper beautiful waterside pool and hot tub, great bar/bartender (Kelly!) and a convenient 18 minute walk to a great beach (where you can rent a beach chair for $5 forthe whole day)! I would come back here any day of the year Thank you Courtyard Marriott Madeira Beach for a perfect stay!

This experience was terrible Our first day here, we were able to switch rooms but my wife forgot her wedding rings in the first room We informed front desk guy, Brian, who sent an employee to let us back into the room to search for the rings

They rings were not there When we went down to inform Brian at the front desk, he vehemently denied that anyone might have taken them I asked him to ask the only housekeeping employee who had cleaned that room after we switched rooms Brian called and we heard the guy say he found 2 rings and that he “forgot ” to bring them down REALLY??? Why didn’t front desk call housekeeping right away to check if he found the rings when we called down the first time?We stayed 7 days last year and enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to come back this year to stay another 8 days With this incident and now they decided to charge $10 parking per day, we’ll take our business elsewhere This is not okay and I am a silver elite member with Marriott

Top notch service These people are very good making you feel important and they are very professional Rooms were clean

Loved the balcony Good treadmills The location was beautiful and close to publix and other food like McDonald’s and a pizza place Plus they have a bistro The legion was loud next door but could not hear them with patio shut The bad thing was the pool It looked very dirty Did not want to get sick swimming in it Lighting in room and bathroom was dark Beds were hard but better than lumpy Would stay here again if the pool gets cleaner

We stayed here overnight last night for New Years The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating The room was decent for the cost and nicely amenities

King bed was nice and pillows were comfortable The reason for the 3 star review is based on insulation and privacy When we returned at 2am the neighbors were up and talking and the noise flew through the adjoining room door We had to have the TV on to blend it out Everything else was acceptable but that is not conducive to a quiet evening with so little sound barrier

Patti Blake

I have stayed here multiple times The only complaint I have is when I first started staying here the gave you a bag with a breakfast in it like a muffin and piece of fruit and they offered coffee with different types of cream like French vanilla etc Now they only have coffee with plain cream

They do not offer the continental breakfast any more Over all its a great stay The breakfast not a big deal but man did I need my coffee The staff was also very nice

tom aschauer

Spent three nights and four days here Not once did they clean my room, give me fresh linens, take out the trash or change the towels The ice machine on my floor wasn’t working and there is a neighboring house to the back that has a rooster that crows all day long, so try and get a room close to the front of the building

Or just stay at the Quality Inn that’s about a half block north that looks like a much nicer place to stay Although I don’t know how the rates compare But for almost $800 I think I would have expected more
