So impressed! The ladies at check in were very friendly Our room was spacious and had everything we needed The heat/air unit was not noisy like other hotels I’ve stayed at but similar to a fan I sleep with at home

The bed, sheets and pillows were very comfortable The shower was roomy I also loved the bright blue and green decor A couple things that could have made it a 5 star was more space on the bathroom sink counter and if the air in the room didn’t seem damp/humid But I would stay here again

Amber

I was hesitant at first about booking a room Most La Quinta Inns I have stayed at were older and needed much updating The hotel is really nice

Great breakfast area and lobby Very up to date Nice gym and inside pool Our room was spacious We stayed in a double bed room Our dog was in tow and the pet fee was only $20! Beds were comfy Shower and bathroom were greatThe hotel can’t control what businesses sit next door Super 8 had some sketchy people hanging out in their parking lot this morning We were on the third floor so we could see over the wall that blocks Super 8 and La Quinta Inn Overall our experience was great

T Y

The photos online make this place seem nicer than the reality The pool was green and unusable The AC wasn’t working in the lobby

When I arrived I had some coffee in the lobby which was very stale and slightly colder than room temp The breakfast was decent but they stop serving at 9am The AC in my room wouldn’t turn off so I either had to let it run at 58 degrees or turn it off I like it cold so that wasn’t too big of an issue for me personallyThe room itself was fine otherwise, bed was comfy enough Pillows not so great and there were stains on the sheets and pillows The sink is nice Shower decent not the best water pressure

Greeted by the concierge, Matthew, at ~930pm He was well versed in the local amenities, and directed my companion and I to the Denny’s (attached to the hotel) for dinner, as most other restaurants were closed/closing at that hour While the hotel is a retrofit of an older facility, the renovation was done well

Clean room, with no pests or insects Bed was clean, and linen was in very good condition Bathroom was very clean Breakfast was hot and of the buffet style, even at the end of the service time window Room AC could have blown colder, but was cool enough to sleep comfortably Property is well lit, and parking area is abundantSpoke to the general manager and felt confident the AC in the room would be cleaned to permit better air flow Well staffed with plenty of cleaning/maintenance personnel working to prepare the rooms were seen during our check out VERY close the the I-81, gas station (with beer and snacks), a Denny’s I was sadly unable to use the pool due to my late arrival and early departure I would stay here again

Chris Massey

Highly recommended this place We weren’t expecting too much but this place surprised us We stayed with 9 guests in 3 different rooms

All rooms were clean and had all the amenities you could want The outdoor pool was a gem; clean, warm, and not too much chlorine The free breakfast was better than expected The staff were all incredibly friendly and kind The location is very convenient with being connected to a Denny’s and next door to a gas station and Dunkin Donuts Overall we were pleased with our stay and will be back Thank you quality inn for a great stay

Rolling it at 10:30p at night always provides you a different check in experience The two women at the desk were very friendly, and were handling a rather difficult person at the desk when I arrived They handled that person with class and dignity (the person was clearly not in the right mindset)

My check in went smooth, room was clean, beds semi comfortable and the shower had decent water pressure There appears to be ample parking for any size car/truck you have, there is a ton of food options around even a Denny’s attached to the hotel itself I am thankful that I cashed in my points because I don’t think I would spend over $110 on this room, I think they need to reevaluate the price and knock it down to around $89-$90 for what the location and hotel offers

There are so many positive things to say from the courteous staff to the outstanding food We had our wedding here and I can’t say enough about the amazing experience Michelle, our wedding coordinator did a fabulous job and handled everything for us

She was personable, down to earth, and made us feel special I can’t say enough good things about her The place itself is very quaint and on beautiful grounds The food is incredible This place is the best kept secret – if you’re lucky enough to find it Thank you to everyone who made our day so special We will be back!

Candice Costa

Staying at the Hillbrook Inn and Spa was an absolute great experience The staff is wonderful and very helpful I stayed in the Spring Cottage, and it was gorgeous

I scheduled a massage for my mom and a facial for myself Both were so relaxing and calming! I also had reservations for dinner, and the food was impeccable! I have never had such amazing, tasty food I will absolutely be back for another weekend getaway! Thank you to all the staff and their hospitality!

Amy Warrington

I can not say enough good things about the Guest Services staff at the Hillbrook! They made us feel taken care of before we even got there, and greeted us as if they were genuinely excited at our arrival They even put out dog bowls and treats for our puppy Newton, who was traveling with my boyfriend and I And I haven’t even gotten to how amazing the room was! From the super comfortable king bed, to the fireplace with cozy armchairs, to the soaking tub, to the fluffy robes and towels—we were blown away by the entire space! Breakfast the next morning was phenomenal, but not complimentary like we thought

However, still highly recommend if you’re a breakfast person!

Not a good place for families! Check in was great, the staff was super friendly In our room my two children and myself fell asleep Later that night, my wife who is a smoker went outside around 11pm had her cigarette and to get our tablets from the vehicle

As she walked down the hallway a man came running down the hallway at her from behind She quickly turned around right before he tried to rob her of her belongings They were alone in the hallway, she scared him off, he then apologized and ran She was so shooken up she spent the rest of the night checking the peep hole The staff said sorry they couldn’t even access the cameras she is still traumatized by it Was supposed to receive a call from management but that phone call never came After our own investigating of the hallway we came to find out strangers who were not checked into the hotel were entering/exiting the building as they pleased without a problem using the emergency stairwell To top it all off the continental breakfast that was included had nothing as staff stated they had run out of food because no had ordered any supplies

Rachel Wineman

We have stayed at this hotel so many times when visiting my grandmother and have always really enjoyed our stay It’s more expensive than surrounding hotels, but the quality of the rooms and service made it worth it But this time, there were so many things wrong with our room

The toilet bowl had black mildew under the edges like it hadn’t been scrubbed in so long The bathroom fan was broken so the room stayed very humid with 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids) showering The shower rod was broken and tipped forward so the curtain bunched in the middle and water sprayed out around the sides The blankets had stains The mini fridge wouldn’t work upon arrival We discovered it had never been defrosted and had an inch of ice on the back inside panel We spent awhile with a hair dryer defrosting it Some water got on the carpet, so we mopped it up with a towel The towel came up black, as did our feet whenever walking barefoot in the room because the carpet was filthy I understand that staffing is a problem all over right now, but the quality of this hotel has fallen dramatically while the price remains high, and I doubt we will stay here again unless convinced they have improved substantially

The Fairfield Inn I just checked into should not be having guests stay in Room 131 It was not finished yet they issued it to a customerThe window in the room overlooks an actual dump complete with an abandoned school bus, the closet did not have a rod to hang clothes on nor hangers, there was no lighting for the in-room desk, and the TV did not work

There is no where to hang a towel except a hook on the back of the bathroom door I like the Marriott brand a great deal At the same time I will avoid this location going forward

Brian Duplante

The folks here tried their best to provide a positive experience, but we were a little disappointed that the hotel was under major renovations and all of the amenities were closed, due to construction We did get a nice suite on the first floor and at a great price, so this sort of made up for the other issues The grab and go breakfast was a little sparse, but that was to be expected because of the construction going on

It was neither the best nor the worst accommodation on our trip Hence the rating

Man I must say this place was a win Came just to unwind on the long weekend The breakfast was pretty good

The location is ideal for any Winchester visit We actually went to drive in theater, and decided to make trip if it They even discounted my room a little because I was a Diamond member and they only had small rooms left We will definitely be back

breanna McCormick

Booked Hampton inn because it’s been one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at until this one Called hours prior to us arriving to make sure the pool was open as because we have kids We was told it was open

We arrived later in the evening, the pool was closed, and would be the remainder of the night, but to be assured it would be open at 7am the next day Well here we are 7am And “as far as she knows it’s going to be closed all day”……I will not return

This hotel is the absolutely, hands down, the BEST HOTEL we’ve ever stayed at!! From the hospitality of the receptionists, to the cleanliness of our room, to the continental breakfast served

The beds are also extremely comfortable and the 2 room suite is spacious The TV’s were all programmed with my name and a welcome message too! This hotel goes above and beyond for its guests and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! We purposefully stayed again last night after being here six weeks prior (on 2 separate trips), and look forward to staying there again in the future!!!!!!!!

This TownePlace Suites is conveniently located and easy to get to There’s plenty of parking space and it’s also near a number of restaurants (or gas stations) within the areaAs soon as we walked through the slightly unusual entrance, we checked in with ease

Entering our room, it looks like a little apartment with a small, not mini, fridge, an electric stove, and a sink There’s a decent number of cabinets and space despite the king sized bed in the main space TV might be oddly placed, but it allows to be watched from the sofaThis location has a gym, pool, and a small business center The bathroom is spacious and the shower works greatThe AC blows very cold and it’s easy to control from the wallI would definitely come back here again, and of note, this hotel is pet friendly

Robin Ness

The staff went far above any expectations The room was very clean The beds were extremely comfortable

We had a 2br suite, and loved the fact that each room had its own heat/ac controls If we were staying longer we would have utilized the well stocked kitchen, but instead we used the full size fridge to store water and left overs Breakfast was also very very tasty The staff were helpful and happy Nobody was fussing over anything at all, and they had the best of attitudes When we left there we made a decision that we would never stay anywhere else Even though it is a pet friendly hotel and we did see a good amount of doggies, you would never have known it We did not hear barking, and we never smelled dog We had some unexpected last minute situations, and stayed an extra night (thank goodness it wasn’t booked) The staff from the front desk to the housekeeping again, superb! We are truly looking forward to returning

Beautiful historic hotel We spent the weekend with our 6 month old son Perfect location with many restaurants and stores within walking distance

We stayed in one of the king rooms and it was the perfect size for us and our son in his pack n play The front desk even remembered our request to have a corner room so we didn’t inconvenience other guests We did have some issues with one of the elevators being out of service, but this was quickly resolved by the staff allowing us to use the service elevator since we had our stroller Overall, excellent customer service and we highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Winchester area Look forward to coming back again soon!

This hotel is lovely! Each room has lots of space, the pool is nice and unique – my guests and my sisters kids a like loved it, my mom was able to get a last minute massage, it is walkable to a lot of lovely restaurants, and the Half Note bar in the hotel Lobby is great to hang out! Oh! and large bathrooms which is great for getting ready!I worked with Felicia to book our hotel block! She was wonderful at helping us work through problems with our guests booking This is the only reason we are giving it 4 stars The booking process was rough for our guests

Every single one of our guests, including ourselves, had issues booking with the block when they called the front desk It always worked out but it was unnecessarily difficult to get a room at times It seems like there is some sort of disconnect between the block and what the front desk is able to do Also the parking with snow was a bit tricky with uncleared spots, and then the garage parking was a bit unclear with valet parking or if we could park there because the outside lot was fullOn a positive note, I booked their largest suite and it was a amazing! I had my bridal party over the night before and the day of to get ready There was also a waterfall shower and large tub!Overall, I would say book here but make sure you have more than enough rooms on hold in your block and have them a few days before the wedding as well

D & L Brannon

For the price the hotel is not worth it The front desk staff were not helpful, friendly or curious They advertised a restaurant and that’s not really true

They do have a bar that only opens at 4pm and serves only bar food A separate breakfast restaurant only serves limited breakfastBooked the Spa located within the hotel Checking the booking two days out, the day before all confirmed the spa treatment We showed up on the day and time of the reservation and they had no record of the reservation The hot tub located in the pool area was cold For the pool there was no changing roomsThey charge for parking which is fair enough In the uncovered parking area loud groups gather well into the evening, shouting and clearly drinking Not a comfortable situationThe rooms were dated Wet marks on the roof of the room caused by leaks, rooms very smallCannot recommend

The staff really put this hotel above and beyond We called before with questions about the wedding block, asked questions during regarding breakfast and additional pillows/blankets, and after checkout about billing Every single time staff were super kind and helpful, especially Jennifer who we talked to at the front desk multiple times for various topics

The rooms are larger than most hotel rooms and were clean but a little dated Bathrooms were a little small but the room space more than made up for it Our pack n play fit without any issue and still plenty of room for the kids to move around We requested a room we could see the train from since the tracks run right along the property but unfortunately did not see one Our room was 302, immediately to the right of the elevators We could hear people talking when loud in the hall but generally it was a very quiet and relaxed hotel The breakfast was fantastic The hotel is very close to several restaurants and activities Will definitely stay here again on future visits to town!

I had a one night stay over and it was very pleasant The rooms were comfortable, the A/C was perfect, on full and pumping out beautiful cold air The parking is a bit challenging unless you get there early

I had my 26ft trailer with me, and luckily found a big enough spot out front They unfortunately had their restaurant closed, but had plenty of options for various foods nearbyMy biggest ♥ for this hotel is the staff I left the following day believing I got everything with me Unfortunately that was not the case I got about 20mins North on I-81, when I realized I left an envelope with $1500 on my bed, after🤬🤬🤬, I hauled A$$ back to the hotel I called guest services and told them what happened and of they found it I came screaming into the lot and ran inside And there at the desk were the cleaning staff and the manager, they said they knew it was obviously left by accident and brought it down to the front desk I was speechless, I thanked them so much The money was for my family I wished I had given them more but I couldn’t There really are good people out there

J B

A pleasure to walk into this hotel after being on the road and staying in other not so nice hotels The travel hotel industry needs to step it up Despite all the issues these hotels are facing, this one has a bright lobby, excellent, warm staff, a very decent restaurant with lots of choices and prices that don’t shock

We had a clean, spacious room and the bed was quite comfy

My spouse had a medical crisis and had stayed at here before I enjoyed her nice room and staff But I want to tell you this staff especially Amanda Mills went beyond the call when my has this crisis that almost killed her (I’m on her account but this is Dave)

We can’t express our gratitude enough Please know this staff is remarkable and Amanda is an angel on earth She’s professional, stern as needed, level headed and most importantly compassionate 5 stars all the way

Location is within walking distance of a Mexican restaurant and Five Guys, but the room was falling apart and neglected It didn’t look like they swept under anything, the ceiling tile was falling apart, the bathroom door didn’t close because the knob and the latch in the door frame were INCHES apart There was no towel rack or toilet paper holder, the remote didn’t work, and it didn’t look like much was wiped down

There was a crack under the door and no curtains It was “non-smoking” but everything smelled of stale smoke 10/10 don’t recommend (review won’t let me post photos) 🤢

Jason Obert

I travel all the time and stay at many low end to mid range hotels/motels Not super judgemental But this place is one of the rougher ones I’ve ever stayed in

Probably the roughest It looks like management tries (which is a positive), but the bathroom door had a punch hole in it Sorta a gap between the exterior door and the floor, so it didn’t seem fully secure It looked like nearly all exterior doors had been pried open at one time or another with something like a crowbar No electronic or magnetic keys/locks Not a big deal, but still Bathroom was clean (by my standardswhich aren’t super high, but some wouldn’t be okay with the state of it – just run down/old) Also I’m not sure if they’ve had any issues in the parking lot (like theft or break-ins – didn’t happen while I was there), but there were a lotI mean a lot of people hanging around outside Not super judgy, but felt a lil sketchy Appears to be a lot of long-term residents there Also found it odd that a police officer did a drive through or patrol of the parking lot Especially how and where it’s situated Pretty much it had to be a deliberate drive through Location is good and bad Five Guys and Mexican place right by it, but also Route 7 and the I-81 right by itSo pretty loud Last thing on the negative side Didn’t notice it until the morning, but the mattress cover appeared to have mold on itNow for the positives Yes there were a few Check in and check out was really easy Nice receptionists Clean towels (like quite a few) AC worked well Comfortable bed A lot of soap, conditioner, shampoo, lotion, etc TV channel selection was good And the price was the price $55 including taxNot sure I’d stay there again Mostly because it didn’t feel completely secure (pried doors, gap between door and the floor, large amounts of people congregating outside, police patrols in the parking lot), etc But in a pinch maybe/probably Just know what you’re getting for the price and the $20 more for a Super 8 or Motel 6 is definitely worth it in my opinion If you have the $$$ If not APM Inn & Suites is what I described aboveAn option, but probably not my first or second

My husband and I wanted a quick weekend away and chose the Candlewood Suites I was a little nervous because we had never stayed here But we were pleasantly surprised

First, the staff was amazing They went above and beyond making sure our stay was perfect From the moment we checked in we felt like we were the most important people The room was great I loved the suite The kitchenette was perfect for us And the separate livingroom was comfortable and surprisingly spacious We asked for more pillows and towels and they came quickly without hesitation My sisters and I have already decided that this is where we are staying when we come out for the Apple Blossom Festival When you find a gemlike this, it’s a no brainer

I have stayed at many extended term hotels over the years and what is particularily noteworthy about this establishment is the level of cleanliness and modernization of the whole establishment compared to others in its classThe staff was attentive and courteous, and more importantly, the other guests were well behaved too (no ghetto non-sense)Complimentary (FREE) laundry machines are a real PLUS! The internet works great! And they have a well equipped and modern weight room!Keep up the good work IHG Winchester

Hotel was good but I was given a hard time when I was checking in because my ID address was too close to the property They don’t allow locals to stay at their property Never mentioned it when I was booking

Was ready to go through IHG corporate and express my concerns of this property for their brand I was between selling my house and waiting for my new build to be completed Refused my business for an extended stay Was forced to find other accommodations for the rest of my time between houses

I don’t know who rated this so low This is a Courtyard not the 4 seasons I am a lifetime platinum member and I’ve seen some run down ones and this is not one

The lobby is nice The design is fresh What I care about is a clean room Clean bathroom Can the room stay dark in the morning? I hate when there’s a gap in the curtains Nice big screen TV with streaming options Water pressure in the shower This Courtyard has it all I would definitely stay here again

This was our first points redemption stay and we were excited to use a free night for a quick getaway We checked in early afternoon and although the parking lot was empty, we were denied an upgrade Our Marriott Elite status was disregarded and we were given a room right next to the elevators

The parking lot remained empty throughout the night and early morning The room was superficially cleaned by housekeeping The phone on the nightstand was dirty and appeared to not have been wiped down, including the bed headboard and other furniture doors You could see the glare of handling from sitting on the couch There was visible dirt under the tv as well The room was definitely renovated with a modern touch; however, the bathroom was disregarded in this aspect with poor lighting Despite the room being modern, the overall layout was poorly designed For example, if you wanted to lay in the bed and watch tv, the closet came in the way The ac also appeared outdated and the vents were very dirty I also found it inappropriate for housekeeping staff to knock on our door at 9am when we had the DND sign on the door knob and check out wasn’t until 11amThe location of the hotel is definitely very convenient and right off of the highway The best part of the hotel lobby was the cozy fireplace

It’s an average sort of place In general it looks like the others It’s a franchise, so not owned by Marriott, but rather by an individual who is seldom if ever seen

The long term employees there are decent All of the employees are severely underpaid All of the employees rely on some sort of special circumstance to make ends meetfood stamps, welfare, relatives with access to some sort of peculiar funding, etc It’s actually quite sad in this way Be prepared to tip generously and graciously to these employees who seldom if ever get to go anywhere and have no chance at retirement Understand that many of these people are college graduates, trade educated and many are multi-lingual They do it because they’re good at it, they work as a team and quite frankly it’s all there is for hospitality geared individuals Tips make a huge difference, so you’d better do it And do it heavily Don’t assume that desk people are paid more than housekeeping just because they look different, wear different clothes or speak differently In essence, they are all slaves If you stay there then these slaves are working for you, so be prepared to do the right thing by making their lives a little better If you can afford to stay there then you certainly have more than they It’s a shame that I even have to explain this Tip big-time Be polite Be understanding Chill out and be thankful Talk less Tip more Be low impact Tip more Tell Marriott they should be ashamed of their corporate slave scheme Tell Marriott to take direct control and responsibility of the place rather than run this slave scheme Enjoy your stay!

Overall, a nice place Clean rooms, surprisingly good breakfast Like that the sitting area in the room was separate from the bedroom, as I get up early while my wife sleeps a little later

The mattresses on the queen beds are about ready to be replaced in my opinion, but provided for a good sleep We had some people upstairs who had kids who were jumping around quite a bit, but fortunately, there antics did not last long Staff was great and provided good information on things to do in the Strasburg area The pool and exercise room were in the process of being renovated, so these were not available The restaurant next door offers a 10% discount if staying at the Fairfield Inn, so don’t forget to ask for it We loved this restaurant as well!

Room looked dusty like it hadn’t been cleaned at all, there was still a sock behind tv from previous guests, there was a pill of some sort under fridge which definitely created a health and safety hazard for guest’s children If you stay here definitely check for these things before letting your little ones roam free in room, really unacceptable cleaning practices, yet in there website they state they take cleaning and sanitizing seriously By the looks of it , now i doubt if they even changed the sheets

Definitely unsatisfactory cleaning procedures, there should be someone on top of housekeeping, as sadly as it sounds It shouldn’t take a bad review to check areas like these, this is not a room for improvement thing, it’s someone not doing their job, period, Breakfast was good, great bacon Front desk clerk at night was helpful and courteous

Made a reservation for one night based on Google reviews Room was just okay There was a strong odor (not pleasant felt like bath room smell) in the lobby near the check in

Room is bit congested and shower liner was not cleaned and stinky Carpet looked old Reservation said breakfast is complimentary We got a coupon for breakfast This is where it gets interesting Breakfast area is not buffet but need to order items from the menu We have been told that coupon covers only 1 item and you need to pay for anything other than your 1st pick including coffee/tea! Service was terribly slow and not at all worth to sit and wait We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels which serve decent breakfast Overall experience was bad We would never go back to this place

Super clean place We were a little nervous, because I think it was only 3 or 3½ stars, but it was great Staff was friendly enough, room was very clean, orderly, and bathroom was stocked with essentials

Unfortunately, we had to depart early, so I cannot comment on the breakfast that was included Definitely would stay here again if passing thru this area

Good place to stay Decent breakfast but you must pay I wish the pool and fitness center stayed open 24/7

So that’s annoying THE most annoying part is the laundry, it needs quarters, there is no machine for quarters even if you have cash (which I never do) They also won’t give you quarters (or don’t have quarters) at the front desk unless you have cash Ughhhh Crappier places have laundry for free If you can’t manage to have quarters (and can ideally charge to the room or to a card for them) make it free!!!
