I had stayed here over superbowl weekend and had a really good stay here There was a breakfast with hot items It was super quiet

The staff was great, especially the afternoon gentleman Sunday and Monday I didn’t catch his name, but he brought me a microwave after I was bummed that the room did not have one If I’m ever back to town for work, I will be staying again Thank you!

Prairie Island Campground is the nicest campground we have ever stayed at The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the owners have a community garden on site There’s a stage for live music, bikes and boats to use, the tiny houses they rent out are really cool and we have enjoyed camping in our vintage camper here

They have a disc golf course on site, there’s a dog park across the street within walking distance and the campground is right on the Mississippi River They owners are amazing people, what’s not to love? I highly recommend staying at Prairie Island and look forward to our return

A friend and I camped here it two 24ft RVs on riverfront sites and it was a beautiful view! The people at the store were very nice and it was a welcoming atmosphere The grounds were clean and well taken care of My only lack of 5 stars was there there were dogs off leash, one wandered into my site and I had to call out to the owners a few sites over that it was loose, and another right by the road entrance and exit playing as we were pulling out, with its owner

Also the sites are completely open and close to each other, but comfortable enough for a table and fire pit, so expect that It has a great vibe though and we would definitely stay again

The small homes are a paradise! They treated us like royalty So much peace and quiet Stayed a whole week had no problems at all! Would recommend to any small family for a peaceful time

Plenty to do They have tons of stuff to rent Awesome sunsets and river front You will not regret it The hospitality is next level everyone so friendly Truly a gem on Mississippi River

My daughters and I had an exceptional stay at Carriage House B&B We were perfectly situated to be within walking distance of downtown, the Minnesota Conservancy for the Arts, and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum The hostess prepared a lovely breakfast of cinnamon bread, quiche, sausage, and fruit

We were able to eat and mingle with other guests over breakfast The room was clean, comfortable, and inviting We weren’t expecting a TV in the room so weren’t bothered by not having one There was a shared game and TV room for all guests

Aaron Schendel

This is a lovely rustic-feeling place to stay in Winona! The location is directly across the street from Winona State University’s campus and just a short walk from downtown – couldn’t be better located! The hostess was incredibly kind and friendly and breakfast each morning was deliciousA couple notes for anyone looking to stay here:- There are no TVs in the rooms (at least not in the Friendship Room)- From what I could tell there is either no air conditioning in the rooms or at least no air conditioning you have the ability to control (might just be set for the building)Neither of these things are bad at all – I just wish they had been mentioned on the website for people to be aware of Regardless of those things, it was a great place to stay and I’d recommend it for anyone wanting to get away to a charming town!

Our host Grace, and her family were very welcoming to my mother and I We reserved last minute due to a death in my family, and I needed to reserve a room for my mom and I literally the day before we would arrive Everything worked out great, the owners allowed us to come inside the main house and got us upstairs into a wonderful room where we could change into funeral clothing

We drove from Chicago to Winona in about 4 1/2 hours and had about 40 minutes to get to the cathedral of the sacred heart for the visitation, mass and then dinnerGrace, her little 17 month sweetie 🥰 (already this to her, Grace, she made my visit, cheered me up when I wasn’t), her mom, Jan and if course her soon to be husband welcomed us into their home open arms and hearts We will definitely stay there again ❤️❤️❤️❤️Jennifer Heer Norman and my mother, Debbie Hegberg Heer,Arrived Monday, June 20, stayed 1 night, and checked out on Tuesday, June 21st

This is a newly constructed building with great rooms and facilities The desk and chair were a little tight against the foot of the bed, but otherwise it felt spacious, especially the large walk-in shower The complimentary continental breakfast was always filling and good

I was there during a major road construction project, so it was not very convenient to get around, but the back roads worked just fine

Mandy Boykin

Nice, clean, comfortable hotel Hotel staff was always very kind and professional The last morning of our stay, the breakfast staff member overheard my 6-year-old asking about strawberries and blueberries, which they had the day before

A few minutes later, he brought my daughter a plate of strawberries, blueberries, and pineappleI watched the front desk staff deal with an extremely intoxicated man who could barely stand up with nothing but professionalism, kindness, and concern while the breakfast staff member helped as well

Big room I’m pretty sure the sheets had not been changed Beds were not comfortable

The room was clean Lady at the front desk was very short with us when we checked in Pool was nice, hot tub not very hot with very low pressure jets A book would have been nice in the room explaining the layout & amenities with a map of the hotel Would not recommend the bar/restaurant attached Poor service

Kate Munson

The woman who checked me in was so sweet and helpful But the room had the strangest most off putting smell too it, kind of like dirty socks or musty carpet Underwhelmed by the cleanliness of the room- but for a one night stay it was okay

Don’t think I’d come back for the price

John Barone

Been coming here for several years used to be a nice place but always new management It has never been updated/remodeled It seems ownership just wants to take in your $$ without putting back into place

This time room was musty carpet old and dirty plus both wife and I were victim of bed bugsWe were there 5 nights with no cleaning service what do ever Vexause of Covid they were “ short staffed” bs could at least change towels and empty garbageManagement confirms a rate then changes it without telling you when you question it your the bad guy then they go behind your back and add charges againCoffee and breakfast selections not fit for human consumptionIt’s a shame what current management has done -used to be a nice placeStay away many better choices in area

What an amazing place! Newly remodeled rooms with custom designs and different room themes Pay close attention when booking rooms online to the different room themes and decorations So clean and cozy

Excellent shower and a bed I did not want to get out of Felt like home Amazing staff and awesome customer service Added bonus…a great little small town with something to do for everyone Highly recommend!!!

Barb Boyd

If you want a very clean and well appointed room, this is the place for you There are no cookie cutter rooms here like the major hotels have Rooms are newly remodeled with balconies facing the Mississippi River

We were fortunate to be there when the neighboring establishment was sponsoring a band Sitting on our balcony on a beautiful summer evening listening to music was delightful The owners are friendly and take pride in their Inn

Katarina Frank

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Inn on the River We stayed in room 23 The room was recently renovated with an Italian theme

The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was wonderful We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening watching the boats and trains The inn is located within sight of Lock and Dam #6 Unfortunately, we did not get to see a boat use the Lock and Dam while we were there We noticed the owners were kind enough to put ear plugs in the nightstand in case you needed them for the trains, but we thought the air conditioner was loud enough to block out the train noise Although no breakfast is included with the stay, there is a great breakfast restaurant not too far away from the inn We wished we had booked more than one night and would love to come back to stay again

Richard was absolutely wonderful! He makes a savory breakfast which is out of this world!!! We were greeted with a tour of the mansion, followed by a night cap and chocolate We had the downstairs room which was an apartment and I loved it! Richard also went above and beyond to accommodate my plans that fell through He graciously spent time talking with me and sharing recipes

The fire place was lit in the evening where you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or coffee They have a nice selection of books you can read as well We will definitely be back! Thank you Richard

Robert Riggs

This is a delightful and beautiful historic mansion(see pictures) The owner and host Richard was very pleasant and informative We enjoyed the tour and historical presentation

Sitting on the wrap around screened porch with a glass of Rose was charming Our room was beautiful(see pictures) Every room was not only clean but spotless Our bathroom was small and plus sized people would have had significant difficulty We didn’t stay for breakfast, the B&B experience is not for us Group dining with complete strangers is not my cup of tea If you want or love the B&B experience this would be great

Kyle Johnson

Everything was excellent Very reasonable price and a very well kept up and beautiful mansion The Innkeeper, Richard, was fantastic

Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating I was traveling for work and had to check out quite early Breakfast is normally 9am, but Richard went above and beyond accommodating my very early exit (6:30am) Fruit parfait, homemade pumpkin bread, coffee and orange juice Plus he sent me on my way with coffee and pumpkin bread to go He had a great recommendation for dinner and offered complimentary wine, dessert wine, and an Irish cream nightcap with chocolates Bed was comfortable and common areas were very nice Much better option than a hotel, and happy to support this B&B during the challenging times of COVID Thank you for everything, Richard I will be back!
