I am a customer who booked a room at the Vine Inn for two days in April, 2022 The stay was unpleasant due to unsatisfactory maintenance and terrible service there, and I will try to tell the story as objectively as possible:1 Upon arrival, the parking lot was full

Their parking lot has approximately 14 spots for more than 20 units, so complimentary parking advertised on their website is not guaranteed I was instructed by the front desk to park on the street2 Upon entering the room, there was an unwashed mug below the coffee maker with coffee stain on it The room was recently remodeled so the overall quality is fine Specifically, the TV was nice and new so I tried to turn the TV on but could not find the remote I tried to call front desk but the telephone had no “front desk” label and neither was any instructions or labels nearby I then walked to the front desk (~10-11PM) but it was locked down, so I went back to my room to do some work but there was no pen and paper provided in the room3 In the next morning, I received a ticket for parking on the street The fine amount was 50 dollars Then did I realize that from 8AM-6PM there is only 2-hour parking at downtown Davis, but these angled parking spots do not have signs at each spot like mostly everywhere else The sign is ~100 feet away near the intersection so it is hard to be found at night I was not informed by the front desk about limited street parking4 When I went to the front desk to file a complaint, I requested to talk with the supervisor and cancel the second night for staying with a full refund (yes, only the second night that I am not staying) I was told that the supervisor was not there today I then requested the supervisor’s phone number to explain the issues and discuss a solution, but I was told that they cannot give me the phone number I therefore requested the front desk to call the supervisor and pass on the message or make a decision on behalf of the supervisor, the request was also declined I was told that I have to email the supervisor myself via their general info email address At this point, it seems obvious that they do not want to resolve this issue at all I did persist and send the email according to their suggestion, and I also attached my phone number and requested a phone call, but there is no surprise that I have never heard from them since then I am writing this review four days or two business days after my stayBelow is my subjective opinion: the issues above were only minor issues and very easy to resolve, but the way they handled this showed how poor their service and management were They could have canceled the second night and given me their hotel credit for one night’s worth or at least the equal fifty dollars for the parking ticket (even though everybody knows that I am never coming back), but they have chosen to waste 15 minutes of my life writing down this long review If you are choosing to live at downtown Davis, just stay in the Hilton nearby The dollars saved is not worth ruining your trip

Overall, a decent option if you want to be in downtown Davis Unfortunately the room phone does not have a button to call the front desk At 1:40 am, a group was hanging out right outside our room and had a very loud conversation while drinking for over 30 minutes

We tried calling the normal phone number of the hotel, but no one picked up Unfortunately no one from the hotel was there to help monitor the noise and my partner had to ask the group to be quiet multiple times

Charlotte Lewis

This place is such a great option for the price point! The rooms are small (no closet, for example—very minimalist) but very thoughtfully furnished, so even though they’re streamlined everything that’s in there is really nice I absolutely fell in love with the sheets, haha! I think I told everyone we saw the whole week about them The bathroom had been tastefully and recently remodeled too

Great location in downtown, walkable to all the best food and coffee Overall if you’re looking for a less expensive option in Davis (and understand that you’re not booking a luxury hotel, but a very luxurious motel as budget options go) this was a great bang for our buck!

This hotel was really clean and had comfortable beds The staff was very friendly and helpful Honestly they have some of the best staff I’ve ever experienced

They only service your room every 5 days but they let you know that and I personally prefer it that way The breakfast was good and plenty of options My family really enjoyed the pool as well It in a nice area located close to many of the restaurants

Danny D

This place is pretty good I didnt have any problems I asked for a 1st floor room and got it

The pool was closed but then again it was late January I liked the mini fridge with no over priced drinks and snacks Theres plugs all over the place and an excise room with decent up to date equipment The sink drain plug was malfunctioning in room 119 It wouldn’t open all the way but it still drained They had free breakfast No bacon or ham was offered and only eggs in scrambled form The free internet was fast The bed was comfy They offer firm & soft pillows Great location Theres many places to eat within walking distance I set the thermostat to 72 and had to set it to cool & it was fighting with the building’s heating The temp outside never went above 70F Waste of energy but I don’t pay the bills so I don’t care

One of the Best comfort Suits, everything is so good Starting from checkin fast and smooth, parking – they have lot of parking spaces safety – cameras all around the hotel, right on I-5 north east access to freeway

Very important point is they are very near to shopping complex which also have Costco Inside the hotel, rooms well maintained, very neat and clean Breakfast big space, lot of privacy, I didn’t had anything but everything is so neat and clean

Jessica Bohon

Worst customer service and experience I have ever had at a hotel After canceling we walked right next door and booked at the Holiday Inn Express instead Still waiting for my refund that they guaranteed would only take 3-4 days

Well its been 7 days already and nothing If you call and ask to speak to the manager they transfer you to their voicemail not a person, three times this has happened now I’ll be headed back in in person on Monday since I’ll be in townI definitely don’t recommend this hotel to anyone However the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn nearby are all incredible hotels Stick with those f you like peace of mind!!!

Brittany Reitan

Morgan and Courtney (I hope I spelled their names correctly) were so very wonderful They were very professional and their customer service was amazingThe room was very clean they seem to have staff that truly cares about not just cleanliness, but also about all around great customer service

If we are ever back in Sacramento I will definitely be coming back to this hotel

Usually Best Westerns are ok but this one was bad! We have kids and wanted to stay this hotel because of the pool and hot tubWe booked it and arrived there and they said pools are closedThen we saw the room , it was so dirty, bed sheets and pillows had stains, also chairs too

They really need to upgrade their wallpapers and rugs! We had only 2 towels for 4 people and smells of the room was like moldThen we just checked out at 10pm immediately and won’t come again! The only good thing about this hotel is staff was friendlyBut they really need to upgrade and clean lots of thing…

Daniel

I love Best Western hotels but this one is just badThe room was dirty and dated The walls are super thin

I could hear people talking and walking around at 3am on the upper floor The lights on the door where you insert your key didnt work so we had to guess when our door unlocked The staff was nice but that’s about the only good thing we experienced here This hotel needs a major upgrade For the price we paid, this place isnt worth it Skip this hotel and go somewhere that actually is worth what they charge

Christine S

There were bedbug stains on the bedskirt; when I walked into the lobby it smelled like very strong mildew and the receptionist proceeded to ask me if it smelled bad when I walked in and I said yeah it smells a little mildewy and she said “oh I’ll take that because it’s raw sewage and it smells like raw sewage forever” So not only does the customer have to suffer with the smell of the raw sewage but the employee does as well and the actual room also smelled like sewage I would not recommend staying at this hotel I’m so sorryAnd they’re serving breakfast in the lobby where the smell of the sewage is the strongest and most pungent I don’t understand!!I should have taken photos of the stains I apologize!

Quaint and old fashion, but it is a riverboat, so wonderful all the same! Our room was on the river side of the boat and the sea lions woke us up each morning, but they were fun to watch and we were able to make coffee in the room which was helpful The included breakfast was good and all of the staff we encountered were great to work with The proximity to old town Sacramento and the train museum made this hotel the perfect location

We enjoyed ourselves, but remember this is a very old restored riverboat so book with that understanding and you will not be disappointed

Steve Ody

It’s an old boat so many of the little issues can be explained away Definitely not a luxurious hotel but an interesting experience Rooms are small but decent and clean

Free breakfast was good but a bit cold Bar was fun, especially on Irish nightRecommend for the experience but maybe only for a couple nights max

Brendan Sargent

I stayed here 1 night in late Feb 2022 as i needed a place close to the Amtrak station I loved this place! It has so much personality and was cheaper than other downtown hotels It includes an amazing and complimentary breakfast in a dining room that is elegant and unique and i had friendly service

Yes, some people complain the rooms are small and the toilet is old school (but it made the experience unique and everything worked fine) but i thought the room size was perfect for 1-2 people I highly recommend this place and think it is great value for the money

What an amazing location, room, and so so clean! We stayed at indulge for two nights and I was in Awh over how beautiful this location, buildings, and our room was (Photos online don’t do this place justice) Staying in hotels is always scary to me, but wow was I pleased You walk in, smells and looks so clean

With covid, check in is done over the phone day of, and then you get a code for front door and also your roomThere is a decent amount of ring cameras everywhere to make you feel safe Great keurig and coffee in room and everything Definitely want to come back!

NekoSarine

I stayed there with my boyfriend while visiting for a wedding There were awesome breakfasts every morning and the room was amazing and kept clean We even set up a couples massage one of the days and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had

Near the end of our stay my boyfriend became my fiancee He had them set up the room with rose petals and champagne The staff was so nice and when they saw us the following morning they all congratulated us

Jennifer Foreman

Came here for my birthday and stayed in the Villa King Suite on bottom with my man and two little ones It had a beautiful living room and kitchen with full kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, table, oven, and kurig coffee machine with tea and Pete’s coffee The bedroom and bathroom with jet tub and shower were lovely

Oh yeah can’t forget the super plush robes available as well Lots of space for your belongings as well with a dresser and closet thst had a safe, iron and ironing board This suite is especially kid friendly and is the only one that can hold up to 4 guests There’s a park/playground across the street so perfect for if you are bringing children The sparkling champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were so tasty, the pull out couch was super comfy alongside a gas operated toasty fireplace TV was also available with subscriptions only though I’m pretty sure Overall though I really enjoyed my stay, and I hope to stay here again real soon In the same suite or even try a different one next time😊

I stayed at this hotel for a corporate meeting I found the location to be superb and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants

The parking was easy Staff for extremely friendly and the rooms were very clean The room styling is very elegant They also have complementary wine and beer in the lobby between the hours of 4 to 6 PM They also offer rooms for corporate meetings with great acoustics and set up options The breakfast and lunch as well as the snacks that were provided during the corporate meeting were absolutely some of the best and served on time and fresh The quality of the food served during the corporate meeting was good as that in the restaurant at Echo and rig

michael mamara

Was there just for the day at a company event I didn’t stay because I only live 15 minutes away First time in this Kimpton hotel

lobby layout and design is visually impressive Connected to Echo & Rig(solid , nice restaurant & bar) on the lobby level and connected to Punch Bowl Social on the 2nd floor staff was helpful, service was good, not great, may have been a bit under staffed Bathrooms were clean but we had to notify them on several occasions to restock Not all of the lunch offerings were available at the same time, so two of the three main options were about 15 minutes behind Dinner was a buffet that was pretty damn good Bartender staff was friendly, professional, and did a great job Overall, really nice venue Didn’t get a report on the rooms

Sebastien Nelsón

Words cannot adequately describe how disappointed I was with my stay at the Kimpton Sawyer in May Kimpton hotels typically have great amenities, clean rooms, stylish decor, and importantly, they don’t charge extra for pets In my move down to LA, I made a point to select Kimpton in SAC for my overnight stay because of this

When I arrived, I was exhausted from 12 hours of driving After check-in, which was friendly, I made my way up the stairs to find a room with carpet (in a pet-friendly hotel…why?), and there were several soil stains from dog stays prior Why anyone would allow incoming guests to stay here in that condition is beyond me At peak level of exhaustion, I decided to use towels to cover up the spots to protect my pets Unfortunately, it was too much to overcome, and we ended up leaving at 5 am with little sleep You never know what people’s circumstances are That day, I was too tired to move, let alone go through the process of getting another room I spent much more than many hotels in anticipation of a typical Kimpton stay That obviously did not happen I will say that the staff seemed friendly, but the oversight on the condition of my room has left such a bad imprint of the Kimpton brand for me

I was unfortunately having to quarantine with covid while in the field for business The staff at the Hilton Garden Inn Airport Natomas were incredibly kind, understanding, and went above and beyond with their friendly service and hospitality They took safety precautions (putting me in an end of hall first floor room, near an exit door, for example) while still providing stellar customer service

It truly felt like a home away from home The hotel appeared clean and well maintained and the staff seemed to have great attitudes all around The food from the hotel restaurant was top notch, with well prepared, fresh meals during my stay The steak in particular was cooked perfectly The kitchen/room service staff were so friendly, even writing get well wishes on my to-go/room service containers The hotel was clean and well maintained I will most definitely be staying at Hilton Garden Inns in the future whenever possible Great location with a very isolated walking path right outside (neat wildlife around too!), and easy access to grocery stores, parks and various restaurants all close by Thank you for everything!

A+From digital check in to check out, this stay was perfect The room was well equiped with all amenities, nice touch with the welcome message on the tv screen Very clean, comfortable and new

Coffee maker, microwave and fridge, nice closet with drawers, full bathroom with large shower and great water pressure Wonderful staff, free parking, best spot to stay to and from SAC airport with easy freeway access Loved everything about this hotel!

We have been traveling extensively this summer, and have stayed at numerous Hilton hotels We had some unfortunate circumstances with previous Hilton hotels across the US, but this hotel is well managed Excellent and very friendly customer service and the rooms were spotless

It is apparent the management here knows how to hire and train and represent the Hilton brand I was disappointed we could not stay at this hotel during our entire CA stay but we needed something closer to our base

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel It was very clean and updated and the room was spacious I would only recommend each guest be informed of the housekeeping ‘only upon request the night before’ rule, as soon as they check-in

This will be more useful and less frustrating than having to call the front desk and ask why your room wasn’t cleaned IMO Also, a few more breakfast hot food options would be good as well (such as bacon, sausage, pancakes etc although the waffles were excellent and they even had sugar free syrup as an optionnice touch!) They have a small gym and a nice clean outdoor pool area with a grill for BBQing if that’s your desire Also, a covered outdoor smoking area and a security guard on duty in the evening/night parking lot, and since we arrived around mid-night, we really appreciated this touch and felt very safe Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would definitely come back

This place was great I had a long day of trave I try several other places before this one with No success the hotel was nasty, not in a good area are just plan oh to expensive

I called the Hilton number and we found this hotel which I didn’t know of at the time Should up check in and received excellent service The front desk clerks gave me a complimentary gift, meal suggestion and were to advise The room was very nice and clean the bed was comfortable too In all I am happy I got to stay at this hotel

We were in the area for a baseball tournament and decided to stay overnight and watch Rivercats game The hotel we usually stay at was booked and we found this one instead The hotel is a quick and safe walk from the stadium

The room was nice, the hotel and parking lot area was clean I was a little concerned because there looked to be some older motels next door and I was worried about the car Everything was great and our car was safe

Tough to review this hotel, but I would give it 25 stars

location is great, staff was perfectly pleasant at check-in, and the included breakfast met our needs with tea/coffee, cereals, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, some fruit and a waffle maker However, the room wasn’t vacuumed as well as it should have been (there were seed shells on the floor near the wall) and the coverlet on the bed was not really clean (two stains on one bed), but the sheets were clean and the bathroom was also We were only there for one night otherwise I would have asked to switch rooms or have it re-cleanedagain, the sheets were clean and that was what mattered most 🙂

The only good thing about this hotel is its location I was assigned a tiny room near the stairs Room needs urgently a deep cleaning and some renovation

AC was off when I arrived and once I turned it on I could smell something dirty and my allergies started to pick up In addition, I could see spider webs on the ceiling just above the bed and also in the breakfast room

When we arrived, I was told the reservations would not be honored because they overbook reservations Their attitude was that as a customer, I did not matter, and I had to take what they gave me So, I had to settle for a room with one bed and one pull out sofa The sofa was hard and dumpy The bed my mom slept in had one sheet We requested house keeping but did not get on their schedule, so no cleaning The safe we needed for our jewelry was brokenThe attitude and actions of this hotel were extremely disappointing I have been to other Embassy Suites and never experienced such disregard It was especially clarifying when I overheard another person who had reservations six months in advance and they were not honoredI should note that they did give me a discount on the lousy room that was provided However, a discount does not make up for spoiling a portion of a well-planned and special visitI would not recommend this Embassy Suites

It is difficult to describe excellence in a few short sentences but here goes: Location: just a few short blocks and easy walk to downtown, and very close to the river front trails and old town Rooms: the rooms are very well appointed with high quality amenities They main lobby is incredible with a beautiful atrium and places to sit and dig the amazing vibe

Staff: All of the staff here was incredible We brought our small dog and staff were very accommodating with our little pup and we very much appreciate that touch They never once questioned anything about our dog Of course we are responsible pet owners and made sure she could use the bathroom outside Food: Incredible coffee and a breakfast that will leave you satisfied and fulfilled It was truly scrumptious Thank you Embassy Suites for an amazing stay We will be back!

Great rooms, nice location Breakfast was great with lots of varietyCheck in was sub par- there were 4 people at the front desk including concierge, but only 3 checking in the line of guests that extended out the door

Could have been friendlierValet parking is required, otherwise you pay $25 to park in the garage across the street

Stayed here while passing through The room was clean, staff was friendly, and the property site was well kept Maybe a few homeless dudes a couple parking lots over but other than that, no worries

I also use the Hilton rewards app It’s a good benefit I could check in, get my room number, and digital room key, all in one swoop It was a lovely stay, thank you

The staff here were super gracious and hospitable Really elevated the entire stayWe were traveling for a family vacation and enjoyed the pool and hot tub as a group

The fitness center has treadmills, a hotel style universal machine, medicine balls and yoga matsThough we were traveling for vacation, this could serve as a nice business hotel based on amenities and locationThere is an extensive snack shop, a bar with dinner menu Breakfast is reasonably priced and we enjoyed our mealThe entire stay was a pleasant surprise
