We have stayed here several times

Very friendly staff, and the rooms have been spotless, warm and inviting During our last stay, Emmy upgraded our room when she heard about our special occasion Having the hot tub In the room was a nice unique added touch Rooms are very quiet and well appointed with quality/ antique furniture Located downtown and feet from great dining and shopping Highly recommended

Tanya Blakemore

I highly recommend this place It is clean, rooms and beds are comfortable, staff are professional and kind; you’re truly valued at this inn The morning breakfast is just the right amount to get you started for the day

Getting to know Fred and Ethel, have changed my life, I will forever always remember our conversation and tips on improving one’s life!I will be back to stay This is my hotel of choice when I come to Newburyport, MA

Camille Gray

Staff was awesome You can’t beat the location either, easy walking distance to multiple adorable shops and restaurants Breakfast simple and ok

Parking was tight, but a definite plus WIFI was free and poor Room was clean and well appointed but very dated, and not in an antique quaint “New England” way Couch very outdated, wood pieces beautiful, but the lack of decor around them detracted from them Bed held up (securely)by a block of wood Big foot stain on the rug which kind of tickled us! No mirror outside of the bathroom, and that was just a small mirror over the sink This ate into our fun time, since we had to wait to use it TV is small if that matters to you, we never used it anyway Not perfect, but I’d still recommend it

Very pleased with our first stay at Michaels! We will definitely stay there again Rooms was spacious and nice My only one thing I think was patrons parking in the carport area right outside our door

Left very little space to bring items out to the car to pack up Baby stroller cooler etc We also smoke and there are chairs outside our door with an ashtray but a car parked touching distance away with gas tank not safe So we could not sit out there

Michelle Sweet

The staff were super friendly and the rooms were clean The proximity to the beach was awesome There was an envelope in the room for tips but we didn’t have maid service at all for the three days

The second day I had to ask for towels and wash cloths If your looking for a place to land with no thrills, this is it Maybe it was the threat of the virus but I think they should’ve been up front about maid service It was definitely expected on our end

Spent 6 days and had a clean and welcoming room with basic amenities like 1 shot coffee pot and microwave Drawer space limited but closet space and bathroom spacious Staff were a hoot!! Loved the 11pm staff and the kitchen staff

Pool was warm and inviting and fitness room in good repair Used washer and dryer at a cost of $6 per load but hey I didn’t have to overpack Breakfast was clean with glove use, decent choices and non stop decaf, reg coffee and various hot teas (24/7) Located next to grocery store, fast food and Mexican restaurant Right off I-95 and close to I-495

Where to start with this place? Just phenomenal staff, so friendly and helpful We had to stay an extra day due to the weather and everyone couldn’t have been more accommodating The rooms are so clean and my kids couldn’t get enough of the indoor pool

When it comes to included hotel breakfast I’m not hard to please, but they really go all out! We stayed for 5 nights and they change the menu up every morning, I started each day of vacation with plenty of energy Highly recommend this hotel, hope to stay there again!

We had a very nice 1 night stay at this hotel Our room was ready upon arrival and though it looks like it’s right off the freeway it actually is a little removed, so we found the room to be very quiet I love SpringHill Suites, but I never like the bathroom arrangement

I wish the door were in a different location so that the light doesn’t shine on people trying to sleep However, our room was very clean and that’s the most important thing Breakfast in the morning was good and well stocked

Dr. Rosie Ann Riley

This hotel is very very nice! I gave it a 4 because their is no room service, you can’t even request it I guess they will clean room after so many days I stayed 2 nightsI really have an issue with this because the rates are based on room being cleaned yet there isn’t a discount price

Hotels are really getting over on customers by doing thisI recommend staying here because very clean But the shower did have brown buildup in crevices on door More attention should be taken to clean these areas

Perfect in Every way! First great impression was the lady at the front desk/the other end of the phone when i booked our room My Husband and I called last minute to find a room on the beach with a view, we had planned to go to Boston for our anniversary, and our plans got changed due to the bombings in Boston So I got a hold of Jonathan’s on the Ocean Front and they had a room with our own private balcony on the 3rd floor, so we had a BEAUTIFUL view

I got a call BACK about an hour after we booked the room, She had called us to give me a recommendation of something for us to do that night for our anniversary (I had told her about our last minute change of plans) She recommended the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury, there was a show playing that night, and also told us of a few resteraunts in the area so we could make reservations We booked the show at the music hall (just in time too, it was a sold out show) had a really great dinner there We were told to take our time the next morning because no one was coming in behind us, so we could just relax We do not get out a lot, this was our first time away from our son in over a year, and we had the best night in a long time I would recommend Jonathon’s on the Ocean Front to everyone and we WILL be back Thank you again so much!!

Dianne S

My friend Patti and I stayed at Jonathan’s August 1 – August 4, 2014, and we had a wonderful experience The room was cozy, immaculate and great views of the beach and strip Louise, Denise and Toni (staff) were so friendly, kind and helpful

I would recommend Jonathan’s over any other place in the areaWe cannot wait to returnSincerely,Dianne and Patti

Room was clean Check-in and Check-out staff need MUCH better training Several of us stayed there for a wedding

Tried to add our stay to our Hilton Honors account and was told we couldn’t since we didn’t make the reservation Doesn’t matter we had the room in our name or we paid the bill, it’s based on who makes the reservation Dumb Checking my bill today, day after our stay and I got someone else’s bill Same price just a different name on the bill Wedding was great, this place needs better training Guess we should be happy they had people working

Bailey Blake

Booked this hotel because it was the closest one to our vacation plans Advertises a hot tub and pool, the hot tub is covered in plywood and has a table set on it We stayed for 3 nights and every morning we needed new room keys as the cards would stop unlocking the doors

We then discovered chunks of what appeared to be mold coming out of the ice machines The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly

Barbara Zdravesky

It had been a while since I last stayed at this hotel, and was discouraged to see how run-down the property had become, but it was nevertheless convenient and pleasant The staff are very polite, the accommodations are nice, and the room was comfortable There were a few small quirks though – there were what looked like a few cigarette ashes in the toilet, the drapes were torn and didn’t close all the way, one of the cups was unwrapped and in the trash basket, the trash bag itself had big holes in it, there was hair on the bathroom floor, and the TV remote was inside the bedsheets

It all gave me the impression that whoever was cleaning the room was either in a hurry, or got distracted in the process I’d stay again, but it probably won’t be my first choice, until there is new carpet and a general freshening up of this hotel

Ishka Bibble

Visiting here from CA to attend my niece’s wedding We’ve stayed at other Fairfield properties in CA, this is typical, nothing fancy or otherwise outstanding They have complimentary breakfast and I do have to say it was not something I would recommend, although their make your own waffles were good

Besides the fresh assortment of fruit, apples and bananas, hot dishes included what could only be really generously described as scrambled eggs and breakfast pork sausage – more like yellow warm mush with warm disks of chewy cardboard, it was that good They also had another chaffing dish with packages of something warm- not very appealingRooms were nice and clean, AC worked well (really need it in summer) and toiletries were 👍 Good place to stay, eat breakfast somewhere else

Rich Messina

I’m a long-time Hilton Honors member & stay at Hampton Inn’s pretty regularly This Fairfield Inn is better: staff, breakfast, room, bed, iced lemon water in lobby, etc

all for $55 CHEAPER/ night than Hampton!! They even adjusted my room rate a day after check-in, as I forgot to mention my AAA membership when booking Marianne took care of everything & Michael the GM was friendly & eager tohelp All-around superior valuegreat job!

I’m not sure what people expect from a beach town that has music, bands and restaurants on every corner that for the last 50 years has catered to young adults Before doing a review people should do their homework Hampton beach is a family place during the day and a party town at night

It is physically right next to a concert venue duh! That being said The Boardwalk is one of the cleanest hotels with best food I have had in Hampton, and I have stayed at many Their food is not frozen boxed food, it is made fresh and I have not had a bad meal There is a bar and a restaurantDuring Covid last year they opened just for us, we were the only people in the place and they gave us a huge discount for the new decorations not yet being in the room This alone proves they care and have a good staff It is very clean, no sand no mold but the rooms can be on the small side like most Hampton rooms Splurge on a second room if you have more than 3 people in the double queens You can sign out a hairdryer ( kids steal them), they have soap, makeup remover , great big fluffy towels and a pretty big mini fridge The double queen room 306 had two fridges There are accessible rooms on the first floor no elevator ( only one hotel on the beach has one) I love this hotel and will only stay here nowDon’t listen to bad reviews of people that didn’t find out what kind of place Hampton beach is and that are picky whinny mean people If something is broken or wrong they are very accommodating to fix it

Great location Steps from the beach beautiful sandy beach No road to cross

We were on lower level so couldn’t quite see the ocean from our large deck but upper rooms have a great view for sure Room was clean Nice amenities Coffee maker and mini-fridge Good AC that you control in your own room which was very nice We could definitely hear the people walk upstairs often at night Not much you can do about that in an older building But we couldn’t hear anyone talking or tv’s in other rooms so that was good Really no complaints about the hotel First time here and we would definitely be come back This was a last minute booking which we were super happy to get!

We stayed at the motel from 7/1-7/4, great place to stay, we stayed here b4 and will come back again Rooms are clean, reasonably priced, comfortable, convenient and within walking distance to everything Only place we ever stayed that has a full size refrigerator and big tub and shower, nice little mini kitchen

Owners are super nice and helpful and hard workers,Igor is the man! So much to do in the area, Wally’s biker bar across the street, has live entertainment and good food cheap L Street Tavern around the corner is a must go to!

Ariel A Villanueva

We stayed at the Motel for a weekend getaway this week, and we were skeptical when we first rented it out because of some of the reviews But as soon as we got inside we were very impressed with how clean the room was There was a good refrigerator and a good kitchen

The staff were great and very friendly We arrived early but a very nice lady greeted us and let us have an Early check in Also we had a problem with the shower being clogged and after I let them know we went to grab something to eat and it was already fixed by the time we came backThe location is also very convenient, beach is at a 2 minute walk Unfortunately our trip was cut short because of personal reasons but if we come back to Hampton we’re definitely staying at Nautical again!

ggitchell335

Igor was absolutely amazing He was right there to greet us when we first arrived and warmly welcomed us He was very helpful and lighthearted, showing us personally to our room and made sure we got in ok

The room was very clean and comfortable and for the price and location you just can’t beat it! Igor was more than willing to answer all the questions we had and is truly a good person If I could give this place 10 stars I would This place is highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the Hampton beach area

Unit was clean and cool Talked to the woman working the front desk a few times for various reasons before and during our stay and she was very pleasant If she didn’t have an answer for us immediately, she called us back as soon as she did

This was my first stay there with my family of 5 and we enjoyed it very much I talked to others at the pool who have been frequent visitors and no one had a bad word to say about the place Parking was tight though

Alex

Nice little spot We stayed in the 3rd floor corner unit #20 Walking distance to bars, restaurants, the beach and boardwalk

In site pool Pretty clean, well appointed room – felt homey A lot of hair on the sheets but we found some clean sheets in the laundry closet and used those Had to ask for soap, shampoo etc when we checked in Towels were also not out upon arrival but they were available in the closet Only one roll of toilet paper for a 3 night stay so we ran out on the last night with no one at the front desk At the end of the day, these are small oversights but can make a stay very inviting or not so much If the owners / managers can address these little issues it’s a 45 Bottles of water would be the cherry on the cake Would give it another shot for sure

Brad “Patch” Emerson

Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly and professional The room smelled absolutely horrible, which completely took away from the fact that it actually appeared very clean Without exaggerating- the room literally smelled like rotten raw chicken, combined with the smell of mildew

It was terrible I would have mentioned this and requested another room, however I could smell the same smell coming from other rooms in the same hallway I can only assume it has to do with the age of the hotel, but it needs to be resolved nonetheless Furthermore, we asked about getting back and forth to Hampton Beach from the hotel When asking for Taxi information, we were told that Lyft and Uber were always available at the beach, and that customers have never had an issue finding rides back from the beach, regardless of the hour- but we would find it difficult to get a ride there We caught a ride there within 5 minutes, had a great time at the beach- and then we were unable to find a ride for over an hour when we wanted to come back at 11pm We called the hotel and asked for assistance finding a taxi, and we were told to just google for taxis After another half an hour contacting several taxi companies that didn’t answer their phones, while still unsuccessfully searching for a Lyft and/or Uber, we finally caught a cab for $53 back to the hotel We woke up and went down to have breakfast, only to find the breakfast was all pre-packaged garbage There were serving trays set out as if hot prepared food was available- but the actual food being served was plastic wrapped generic garbage It wouldn’t take a great deal of effort to have a waffle iron with some batter (which would cost the hotel LESS money that the disgusting pre-packaged waffles it offered), and some freshly made scrambled eggs All of this taken into account with a same night room rate of approximately $300, I would say don’t bother staying here, you can get a much nicer hotel for the money

Kymberly Snow

Room smelled terrible Musty??Breakfast had stale muffins, broken toaster and sour yogurtStayed at many hotels, this was not

as expected for $339/night!!!!Left early

Shiloh King

had a wonderful time till I called the hotel 1 hour after my departure about forgetting my phone charger They said that they would put my phone charger at the front deskI show up 11 hours later it’s not there… I had to work, and I had explained that

The front desk night shift man took the liberty to check all the lost and found carts He was very nice and I hopefully will be dealing with him to find my charger as I continue to show up in the futureObviously the only people who went into the room were the cleaners If anyone were smart (THEY WOULD HAVE AN IPHONE BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST)I do not want to feel robbed of my property especially taking appropriate action to make sure that it was found, especially within an appropriate time and mannerI’m not happy about this I feel disrespected especially being a Marriott customer and account holderI will leave this up and be back at the same hotel every night till I have my chargerI will not be disrespected and I will not tolerate this I will go above and beyond to get back what I deserve

Smallest bathroom ever Location was great, good restaurants Towels and wash clothes were stained and low grade, not the quality that I am use to

Nice pool Stayed in a very small one bedroom with deck, ocean view deck was nice Suggestion, key deck door lock to be same as room door or you will have to call down to desk to come up and let you in Stairs are very steep and your foot does not fit on stairs so be very careful on those This hotel needs updating Lots of stained ceiling tiles in this room Great weather and great beach

Owner was helpful in helping us get our belongings into our rooms ( we booked a suite and a single room) I was not impressed with the cleanliness of either Suite 28 was run down and filthy Fan had thick grime, baseboards rusty and dirty

exhaust fan covered in grime carpeting old and musty The fan over the stove and stove itself was very dirty with rust and dried grease One window has a crack in the glass The railing going out off the porch was so loose that it was an accident waiting to happen It was sad it was so unkept ( it was in the older part of the hotel) Loved the rooftop deck it was beautiful! Pool was ok but had green algae on the steps Outdoor shower didn’t work We made the best out of it but I’m still at disbelief on why the owners would be OK with such filth I hope they reevaluate on improving the condition of the older rooms I just can’t understand them not taking better care of their property

Can’t beat the location, the staff is so friendlyClean rooms and breakfast delivered to your door in the morning is quite specialAlso on our trip there was a storm out at sea, which made the waves huge And they were right outside our door

Very romantic and highly recommended

The rooms were poorly up kept It was false advertising The rooms did not nearly meet what they advertise on their website

The exorbitant amount that they charge could not be justified with the lack of care in the room The floors were scruffy the walls were dirty the furniture was outdated I asked for someone to follow up with me And no one did

This stay was so close to being wonderful before quickly going downhill Upon departure, I was notified that a towel was missing from the room and that I would be charged $50 for the missing item per their policy I immediately replied explaining that my friend and I were there for a short stay and did not use the showers or towels (outside of the makeup towels)

Regardless of my argument, the manager would not refund me the $50 because she “personally” knew there was 3 towels in room I explained I will dispute the charge with my credit card company in which she laughed at me I did not want to go down this road I sincerely appreciate that this is a small inn and thief can cause major pains for them, but it is also not fair to charge me for a crime I did not commit I can’t explain why a towel I had not seen or touches was missing

We stayed here last week for two nights and it was incredible! It was a great location, a half mile walk across the bridge to downtown Newburyport, and a ten minute drive to the Salisbury state beach The room was clean and bright and comfortable and so convenient with kids – the parking space was right next to the room door It was a super easy check-in and check-out and the email directions/communication was clear and easy to follow

Even though I never talked with anyone in-person, they were very responsive and friendly and funny over the phone The shower was perfect and the rooms had a mini fridge and great coffee There are two restaurants in the same parking area to choose from Our second night we didn’t want to walk back into town and this made things super convenient We will definitely be back!

We arrived late because we had driven from Maine after our wedding on July 4th We stopped in the restaurant to ask about late check in and the woman at the bar was incredibly rude to us Actually everyone in Salisbury we encountered that night had an entitled don’t bother me attitude

The pictures of the rooms are completely misleading and I didn’t think the size or placing of our room was worth the cost No view and wasn’t anything special The bed was on cheap risers and the mattress sunk in the middle I’m sure the dock view of the boats is great at the restaurant but I wouldn’t stay there again for anything else

The rooms were very clean and had quite comfortable beds The bathroom (and hot water) were all great The hotel is very quiet

The service (all points) was very good as well Breakfast was very well done and the entire eating area was spotless and the staff kept it clean throughoutA great stop No complaints

Riley Maeve

Quite honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at There was no hot water for my shower, my room was not properly cleaned before checking in (food in the sink, no toilet paper, ect), and nothing available to eat for those with dietary restrictions I wasn’t even able to get a coffee as they ran out at breakfast and never refilled

Luckily the beds were comfy, and served their purpose Overall, I wouldn’t recommend to a friend
