I have been staying at the Candlewood Suites Washington-Fairfax at least three or four times a year for the last 5 years The rooms are always clean and well-kept, and the staff is always friendly Recently they went beyond the call of duty to help resolve a situation that I caused for myself, which reinforced their strong customer service attitude, and the integrity of their staff

I will be staying there again, and highly recommend them

This was a decent hotel The 2 bedroom suites are cool and have full kitchens with dishes and utensilsThey had a face towel shortage so you had to keep asking for face towels

Our refrigerator didn’t make ice but some if them did The guy that works the bar and cooks is AMAZING! The other employees were nice and accommodating They allowed us a late checkout which was really nice and an early check in

From the time we walked through the doors on Friday we were greeted by two nice gentleman They explained everything about the hotel which was very helpful The property is really clean and dog friendly

The staff was excellent and the breakfast was very delicious and fulfilling The hotel takes all necessary steps in making sure everything is sanitized They have hand sanitizer all around We visited the gym which was also clean and they provided wipes for you to wipe down the machines before and after The pool was not open yet but the grounds outside were clean They have a grill and basketball court and a area to eat and enjoy the sun I met the food manager who was really nice and very excited about bringing great things to the community Ben was my bar tender for 2 days He has an amazing spirit and shared beautiful stories about his family and mainly his dad This hotel offered everything even washer and dryer in the building so you don’t have to take home dirty laundry Really nice location and the restaurant in the community are great However I had a salad and wings at the bar at the hotel which was cool I am a Washingtonian but this was a weekend getaway for me I might say this was the best hotel suite I’ve stayed at it has everything inside the rooms and very spacious We had a 2 bedroom suite roommate style and the room was soundproof and cozy I really enjoyed my weekend and I will visit again and again

I really tried to like this hotel but I was just not comfortable I checked in at around 11PM and got a big room in the first floor You get a lot of space for the price, there was a kitchenette, and a big closet

The kitchen had supplies for cooking, a large fridge and a dishwasher However, the room was a bit outdated, the curtains in my room were ripped, and the deadbolt was broken…which didn’t make me feel safe since the room was outside There were some bins and ladders stored by my front door which I also didn’t like There was continental breakfast which offered coffee, juice, bread, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit etc It was nice and a good size eating area Finally, my check out was at noon and housekeeping knocked on my door twice asking me if I’m checking out This was all before 12 and I felt like they were trying to kick me out… I paid for this room until 12 and I shouldn’t be rushed It was annoying Anyway, good price but you get what you pay for… I recommend you pay a bit more and go somewhere else

Jim

In the middle of a one month stay for work Newly remodeled room Clean, comfortable

Extremely quiet Cement floor under the carpet, so absolutely no sound heard from the room below Excellent staff The dishwasher broke during the stay, so maintenance promptly installed a brand new one Hotel is more like a condo with a full kitchen and separate king bedroom Bed is SUPER comfortable Close to shopping, restaurants (half mile away) and a mall with AMC movie theater I highly recommend this hotel

Connor Fulton

I’m not the type to leave negative reviews, but I have to list the issues with my stay:- at one point, another person simply walked into my room on accident thinking it was their room Clearly their key card worked on my door, super startling- speaking of key cards, on multiple occasions neither of mine worked and I had to go to the front desk for them to reactivate- the curtains were really thin and did not shade the outside light right in front of my bedroom window, so essentially I slept with a light shining in my eye all night- I arranged an early morning airport taxi through the front desk 2 days in advance, and checked again on it the day before my departure

But the taxi never got a call from the front desk and I ended up nearly missing my flightAgain, I don’t normally leave reviews like this, so you know it was pretty bad haha Would not recommend

My go to when I have to stay in Fairfax, VA The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating, more so than most hotels They have been good to me during a difficult time when my Mom passed away during the Holidays

The location is good for quickly getting to multiple areas in Virginia and the Metro, DC areaThe rooms are large, well appointed, and mostly quiet The large smart TVs with free HBO and Showtime are niceI would like to suggest signage outside regarding littering It is sad to see how many people dump their trash, leftover food, masks, etc on the grounds and in the parking lot It takes away from the aesthetics of the grounds

It’s me again

What a beautiful hotel Super clean, plenty of beer, wine and snacks at reasonable prices in the lobby Coffee/tea in the morning is free

The staff are super kind I noticed how professional the woman at the front desk is My king room suite has a full sized fridge, sponge, coffee maker etc The bathroom is spacious and modern Only thing I wish the rooms had was USB charging ports This should be the standard of what similar hotels should be judged by 5 stars

Credible Critic

Residence Inn is our go to place when we were on vacationThis place has everything that a Residence Inn should have, a relatively large room, breakfast, well-appointed kitchen, a nice fridge for us to store our cold beverages We did like it here

During COVID, no “tidy” daily service, we could handle that But no pool was not cool They should make more effort to let us know Had we known that was no pool, we would go somewhere elseStaff was friendly and helpful

Stayed here for 2 weeks while looking for an apartment for a temporary work assignment Was in one of the rooms with a kitchenette The size of the kitchen area was disappointing; there was only a tiny bit of counter space and not much cabinet room for groceries

And the offerings were odd and mismatched like 4 plates but only 2 bowls and 7 forks but only 3 spoons The water is set to be extremely hot, so be careful not to burn yourself And one washer was broken so there was only one washing machine available to do laundry Didn’t use any of the other amenities, so don’t know how to rate them Never had their breakfast offering because I had to leave for work at 6am and they start it at 6:30 But location was good and had plenty of parking Overall, fine place to stay Would stay again if I was in the area

Kristina Werner

Hotel and room were very clean We stayed here for 11 nights while our daughter was being seen at the Heart Institue We used the pool several times

Pool was nice but could be cleaned more often During our 11 night stay we never heard any noises from above below or outside our room Very quite at night Only downside, and I wouldn’t let this stop you from staying here, just more of something to be aware of There is a hotel next to this one that seems to have a rougher crowd First night, we caught a man looking into our truck When we asked him if we could help him, he stated talking crazy talk that made no sense then started threatening my husband Police were called He started fighting with the officer, and was taken to jail That was the only incident we had but saw many others from hotel next to us walking around our parking lot at night Just watch and beware But, this hotel is well kept and we would stay again

Stephanie Hilton

The room was good in that we had a kitchen and good space However, we had booked a one bedroom with a king in a separate room, and they had given us a double bed regular room and then tried to tell us it was an “upgrade” because someone that was staying in the one bedroom decided to extend their stay So that was frustrating

But the property and rooms were fine

Came for a wedding The rooms were great Super clean

Loved the workspace set up (it was a comfortable desk with good lighting) Loved the gym :)The only thing was our sink kept getting clogged but other then that the rooms were greatBreakfast was provided for free Mostly toast, eggs, cereal, and some fruit Just the basics

BR Rupert

My family (4 young kids) and I stayed here for 3 nights The location was across from a Chick fil-A and was low traffic and felt very safe The rooms were clean and well kept

Our room had a pullout couch which was great for the kids I liked that the rooms were clean and very spaciousThe lobby and staff that took care of the front desk were kind and prompt with anything we asked for The lobby was also very clean and well tendedWe went to the pool during our stay and though it is fairly small, the kids still loved itThe best part though was the breakfast in the morning Each morning we were greeted with a smile by Rohina She made sure my family and I had everything we needed for breakfast Breakfast changed each day and each day we really enjoyed what they offered Quiche, egg sandwich, bagels, fruit, etcI would definitely stay here again if I visited DC We drove 30 minutes from DC to this hotel because we came during the Cherry Festival, but I’d do the drive again because I liked the area and the upkeep of this hotel so much!

Over the few years I or my extended family have stayed at this property and its always been a great stay It was a quiet location until One Loudoun was built out as it is now…and no surprise the property is even more busierFirst my thanks to GM Jacob Alibrandi who fit me in with a nice upgrade

He runs a really nice property (1 minor hiccup with Housekeeping explained later)Breakfast is the highlight of the property especially because of Rohina Salman who manages to greet all of her guests, keep the buffet fresh and full and allows everyone I saw to leave very happy Given news of various Marriott cutbacks, this property delivers a really good buffet and I heard the same from several guestsThe rooms are spacious and well laid out with a desk The smart TV is nice and a differentiator for MarriottSmall but efficient gym Looks like someone walked away with some weights (10 pounds) and you have to remind staff to ensure clean wipes are available especially in this pandemic environmentLots of parking outside and easy access to One Loudoun and just about anywhere with Route 7 and Route 28One suggestion on Housekeeping Its every other day but you have to notify the front desk I did and was missed even though I also personally spoke to the 2 ladies in the morningMohammed the night shift person was king to provide me clean towels and a refreshment The next day it was cleanedA really nice stay I provided gratuities to Housekeeping and Ms Salman just to show my appreciation I hope other guests do the same

This location was a let down The proximity to Dulles airport and restaurants/shopping was great, but the actual building and room were not greatIt says it’s a non-smoking hotel, but the common areas had a definite stench – luckily this didn’t extend into our room

They don’t keep extra bedding of any kind in the room, and when I called about it, they told me to come down and get it myself (not an awesome experience late at night after driving all day) Why not ask people (a party of 3 with only one bed in the room) if we need bedding for the pull out when we check in?The shower worked well and the kitchen was stocked, but everything was in the dishwasher and the toilet was semi-cloggedThe room was cold when we got in, which was awesome, but the pass through fan that was supposed to take the air from the family room through to the bedroom was busted, so it was crazy hot at nightOverall, I wouldn’t bother staying here again where there are tons of other options in the area

Peter Sherwin

We needed to spend 4 nights in a hotel due to our friends, who we travelled from the UK to visit, had come down with Covid-19 and we could not stay with them We had just a single day’s notice to book a hotel, and I wish we had booked elsewhere This hotel has zero amenities, apart from free laundry

It is close to Dulles, though There isn’t a restaurant or place to grab food/drinks within a mile of this hotel, so if you are staying here you need to plan ahead There is also a strange mix of guests staying hereit appears people are living here full time (some of whom have pets)Upon entering the hotel it is obvious that it has not been updated for many decades All surfaces are in need of attentionthe floors, the walls, the decor – all of it is dingy and dirty looking, and you are hit with strange smells as you walk around this hotelThe lift (elevator) is necessary to reach our room, and it is old & beat up The door has a large scrape across it that doesn’t make me feel that safe, and the flooring is gross So dirtyThe room we were in, 303, is a large suite It has a small kitchen, a living room type area with a sofa & TV, and there is a bedroom with a large beda queen sized mattress I think The room is just as dingy as the entry to the hotel The carpet looks so awful that we don’t remove our socks, and like the rest of the hotel the rooms needs an update The sofa & reclining chair are standoutsthey are the most uncomfortable sofa/recliner I have ever sat on The air conditioning works really well in the main part of the hotel room, but there isn’t a vent in the bedroom so it is hot in there Even keeping the door open doesn’t helpWhile our stay was fine, I did not enjoy the hotel and will never again use a CandleWood Suites Hotel – unless I can verify the condition of the hotel beforehandIHG hotels, of which the InterContinental group belongs, owns this property and you would think they would have spent some money modernising their property portfolio This hotel wouldn’t be too bad if it were given a makeover As it is, there are much cleaner & nicer hotels that have amenities, restaurants & bars nearby or even in the hotel for similar money You can do better

Great place for a long stay Affordable, good rooms and the hotel works like a small apartmentTheir is no room service, and all additional things are given on the front desk

But overall, this hotel is like living in a small apartment Built in kitchen, laundry service everything necessary for a long stay Good place

Kenneth

the wifi internet is the WORST I have ever used period even on the “enhanced plan” i got CONSTANT disconnects

having to often babysit downloads, i had to put up with this for THREE MONTHS when i went to the front desk to ask for help they said it was all done through a phone number and i have a speach issue so i could not callhousekeeping is TERRIBLE whowever was in charge of my room cleaned it like the first two weeks, then it went downhill hasnt been fully cleaned in like a MONTH i gave up bothering to try the hotel has posters that says about a 10 point cleaning systemyeah rightthey dont even mop the floors long story short if you got the money go someplace else and for a hotel that kept PUSHING me to leave five star reviews on the internetmight do a better job of actually making your guests happy eh? Would not want to really stay here again

Stayed only 1 night Every single staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpfulThe rooms are big, clean and comfortable

The hotel is situated close to the airport There were no complimentary bottles of water in the room The breakfast was pretty decent with both hot and cold itemsWe will surely stay here again when in town

Bedirhan Akdeniz

Great long term parking deal combined with a hotel stay Very nice, clean and quite rooms and decent breakfastI gave 3 stars to service since the shuttle service from Dulles Airport was a little problematic during my last stay

It seems Hampton Inn shuttle was the one I supposed to use but this was never communicated with me although I called the hotel about shuttle twice from the airport Logically, I was expecting SpringHill Suites logo on the shuttle Furthermore, the driver didn’t inform the waiting passengers about this He waited and left with an empty shuttle a few times until we figured that out ourselves

Dylan Chapman

The hotel was sharing a late night shuttle with other hotels, and the shuttle driver drove past us at least twice at the airport which turned our 15 minute wait into about an hour in the freezing cold The driven even went as far to tell us that he wasn’t going to SpringHill Suites when we explicitly flagged him down to ask if he went there Multiple members of our party had to call the hotel front desk to get details of the shuttle so we could make sure to get the right one and ensure the driver knew where he was going

That aside, the hotel itself was pretty nice and had a great breakfast selection and clean eating area But the shuttle service was so disappointing and disorganized that I can’t give more than 3 stars overall

Stayed for a few days in November, would definitely come back and visit again The rooms are clean and very nice and comfortable, the whole building felt new and modern and well taken care of Staff was very friendly and helpful

Breakfast is the standard sort of continental breakfast, it was fine I picked this hotel over other options because of the kitchenette, and that was very convenient even for a short stayLocation wise this is fantastically located for Reston, it’s located in a business park which was quiet and felt very safe It’s about 6 minutes driving from Whole Foods and 10 minutes from the Reston Town Center, down the main road which is a very easy drive It’s also very close to the train station

Lisa L

Check in was very thorough and quick and helpful The hotel is very very spacious and beautiful and clean The rooms are very spacious as well and high ceilings I love it

It feels like home so the name of the hotel fits it well Thick walls which is great The hallways even look amazing that might sound weird but they do lol I travel a lot and have been to many many hotels and this one really makes you feel comfortable and like you’re not even at a hotel honestly Plus their breakfast has been amazing great taste great choices I will definitely be back

I stayed at two extended stays one was when I got off the plane on the morning of the 9th I knew there was more than one and I asked the guy to see if I was staying at that location and he said he was in bed and wasn’t by the desk I took the chance and went there anyways luckily I had the right one Now the Extended Stay that I stayed at last 5 days ago was the best I have ever experienced with extended stay

The room was very inviting it smelt so clean the last one did not This one had a dryer for my hair so I didn’t have to get mine out I loved having a stove a refrigerator and two desks When I leave to go back to my destination I will definitely get a room there again The only bad thing was the people that hung outside which looked homeless and my husband said there was one sleeping in the stairwell But I did not experience that at all

Ari Yiannoulis

friendly staff not sure if it was billy or bobby up front out of coffee and immediately got fresh hot pots

the little cute girl was very cordial as well! breakfast was lacking a bit with just some coffee and some package things but I wasn’t expecting too much it’s a 80$ a room night kind of place but for the area they’re getting another 20/30$ close to everything so it was convenient should put a garbage by the bench area where everyone drinks and smokes and a astray I’d stay again if I needed a cheaper decent room

Alexis M

Literally did not feel safe staying here Multiple men were just sitting in their cars in the parking lot and stared at me until I got out of my car They waited until I got out of my car and followed me in

Once I got inside, it didn’t feel much safer I got to the floor my room was on and another man who appeared to be going towards the elevator, turned around and started following me towards my room and pretending to be on the phone I walked passed my room and got to the end of the hall and he was still there Followed me all the way back to the elevator Extremely shady place and I would not recommend any women stay here Does not feel safe When I told the man at the front desk I couldn’t stay because I didn’t feel safe, he didn’t even ask any questions to figure out what was going on, he just told me I would have to cancel online

5 stars for the awesome front desk team, cleaning and maintenance department during my stay from April 17-July 151 star for the current general manager I would like to suggest that the new general manager (I forgot her name) should be sent for more training on customer care service

In May 2022, my important package was misplaced and I didn’t get to use it for its purpose I got compensated by a room upgrade from a studio to a 1 bedroom unit and I was very pleased This was handled by the previous manager and the current manager was on training thenIn July 15, 2022 after working 6 consecutive night shifts, I discovered mold in cabinets, tables, chairs and floor in the living room/kitchen area I called the front desk and made them aware Cleaning service came later on That cleaning lady then escalated the problem and maintenance came right after These two departments were exceptional and was willing to help and offered to change my furniture and to clean the carpet I was very happy about itAfter sometime, the manager came and inspected the room That’s when I started having a problem with her Take note that cleaning service at least do come once a week to clean my room but the manager had the nerve to say things such as “oh it’s been here for awhile”, “you didn’t notice it at all?”, “You smell it and you’d feel like it’s muggy”, and she just proceeded on saying that I can’t stay in the room and she’ll transfer me to another room in authoritative manner I made her aware that I am only interested to be transferred to the same room category She insisted that I am only entitled for a studio because of their contract with my company I know I have few coworkers that are in 1 br from the start so what she is saying doesn’t make sense She also added in saying that I was only upgraded due to my “little package inconvenience” I wonder what is the significance to that and how can she label that it was a “little” inconvenience? It was a big deal for me if she must know No apologies or sympathetic attitude shown at allThis was my home away from home When I’m working, I go straight to the shower and bed then work again I care less about switching on the lights and inspect my room for any issue I may noticeShe charged my company for the whole day when it should just be free or a fee for late checkout due to my Titanum Elite statusUnfortunately, I had to transfer hotel after this encounter I had choices from the beginning but this branch manager don’t value loyalty

My family was first put into a disgusting room on the first floor As soon as i walked in you could see that the floor was not vacuumed or cleaned Then as you walk further into the room you can see that there are dead bugs on tables, in the fridge and i found a piece of glass on the floor

No one cleaned it after the previous guests Then we requested another room and they did not have anymore double rooms so my family had to split up As soon as i walked in the room you could tell people before had smoked a lot even though it was a no smoking room This room wasn’t as terrible as the last one but the toilet had not been cleaned, there was still soap in the shower from previous visitors, the toilet would not flush, so the room was still disgusting but not as disgusting as the first one However, the other single room absolutely reeked of smoke 10x worse than the one i stayed in while also being a no smoking room Overall, i felt unsafe here, the door wouldn’t even close all the way and it was so unsanitary we had to shorten our 2 week stay to one night There was no way my family was going to stay here for 2 weeks Please get a new cleaning team This was definitely the worst hotel I’ve been to and that is saying a lot considering I’ve traveled to multiple countries

Had to check in past 11pm because of a flight delay, and when I arrived and followed the instructions outside for late checkout a very groggy and unhappy employee who looked like he barely knew how to use the check in system took a while to attend me and get me sortedOnce done, I went to my hotel room and noticed the extremely dirty hallways and general exterior of the hotel Cigarette butts everywhere, weird liquids spilled in all directions, both fresh and old gum, and stench that I could not begin to describe

The hotel room was not much better I inspected the rug and it was extremely dirty, full of old grime, stains and dirt The furniture was dusty, and the sheets, while thankfully clean were stained with both yellowish and black spotsThe next morning I received angry knocks at 10:45am telling me I had to leave because check out time was at 11am I told them I had seen it was at 12:00pm in the website and lobby, but they insisted I started packing my things and I received another set of angry knocks, even louder than those previous, from another employee telling me I had to leave until being told when I had opened the door that I already had been informedJust some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experiencedI would never stay here again, nor would I recommend anyone to do so

Stayed here due to a cancelled flight Absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in The property and the room was Incredibly dirty

Everything smelled of garbage and pot We didn’t even shower because the shower was dirtier than we were There was fecal splatter on the toilet Bugs flying all over the room Would have left except it was 2 am and there was no other rooms available close to the airport We would have been better off sleeping in the airport

Even though we only spent one night, we would come back again Loved the fact that there was a full sized refrigerator, could tell that fire safety was important (saw fire alarms and sprinklers throughout the suite we had) & really good soundproofing Felt this was a good location to stay for so many sites (grab a metro to go into DC for the day, visit some falls, just go explore the area)Only con we had was offered breakfast

But yet, you could fix your own, you have the mini kitchen to do it

It was an awesome experience, the rooms were very clean, and relaxing The bed slept well, and shower was on point The front desk was immediately easy to reach as well

Even with Sonesta doing upgrades, you never felt inconvenienced They had a nice clean laundry room on site as well The outside amenities were nice such as the firepower, grill,, tennis courts, and basketball court The tech area was nice as well as the Lobby area Also,, the continental breakfast were on point The only thing I must say that I didn’t see any ice machines on each floor I figured it’s probably because of the rooms having a full refrigerator and freezer Sonesta location was so close to local shopping area, like Walmart, Target , and others I will recommend this for family

This was a phenomenal stay The location is great right next to a lot of nice eateries and shopping centers, the rooms are spacious and filled with anything you could need on the road, the beds are almost the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in on the road The staff are pleasant and friendly and helpful

Legitimately one of the best stays I’ve enjoyed while traveling for work

What a quaint and beautiful property The pool was amazing and our room, the Rooster room was perfect for our needs The Chicken Coop would be so fun to rent out with a few couple friends, but we still have our own privacy

The owner’s are very sweet and do everything possible to make you feel welcome and cared for We had some dietary needs and they were met, with no complaining or making us feel bad We are looking forward to staying again, great location to many tourist attractions in the DC area as well as delicious vineyards and restaurants all around!

Do Not Stay

HereMy brothers and I booked a room for our mother for her birthday She has always wanted to go to Middleburg and was very excited to go and stay Well this place was filthy She said that the room that came recommended from the owner did not lock (he stated that he does not lock anything!), had a door to the outside that did not shut all the way, smelled horrible, and there were huge dead bugs The hot tub they claim to have did not work and he said she may not want to get in it my mother said she felt so unsafe that she left and stayed elsewhere This was after he’d already ran the gift card She then went back the following day to explain what happened and the owner was so rude and threatening and on top of all that did not give our money back The photos that are posted online do not accurately reflect the facility I am so embarrassed that this was the experience my mother had for her birthday Shame on you for false advertising and creating a facility that is unwelcomingI do not know how this b&b has so many great reviews The only thing I can imagine is there must be a lot of robo entriesTerrible service-I think the response given by the owner speaks for itself No, I was not the one to visit the facility but I trust my mothers instinct and account as well as the other bad reviews of the facility on other social media accounts I wish I would have seen those prior to this horrid experience my mother had which was supposed to be grand While I would love to go through each point in the response, I can see that no refund or acknowledgement of any faults will be givenPlease, before you book, read the most recent reviews on various outlets as I believe those reflect the current atmosphere that this facility is under

Very nice hotel, well kept, lots of natural light Would stay here again I had to do remote work and it was comfortable doing that in my hotel room

There was an Ethernet cord which stabilized the connection The room was big, you got everything you needed and the bathroom was roomy The hot breakfast buffet was $14 which was a bit pricey The pool had limited hours during the day so we didn’t get to swim, but the gym was great- good amount of equipment

Rick Adkins

Pretty nice place close to Dulles Airport They do have a nice restaurant, pool, and spa here, but don’t expect any free breakfast or coffee The rooms are nice and spacious

Right now they’re still only cleaning/servicing room upon request during your stay Since the whole contact transmission of COVID via surfaces has been debunked over a year ago I think they’re just saving on labor now Shame as they would normally be at least a 4 star reviewBack here again pretty much the same Clean and comfortable rooms, but service not like it used to be, at a higher price

Marti Hoppus

We are IHG member with a high status Our room has drapes that are sagging down from the rod, a 4 plug outlet in the bathroom that is greatly loose from the wall and I faucet in the tub/shower that won’t turn off, expelling about a cup of water every 8 minutes Reported all to the front desk in person

Staff did not write anything down and said ok to answer a phone call We were greeted as an IHG member, bed was nice and it was quiet
