My wife and I have stayed at the Ayres Chula Vista on two different occasions and both were perfect! You can’t get a better location than this, so much to do around this hotel, almost feels like a movie set how clean it is!Rooms are a great size and always perfectly clean Air conditioning worked great and we got a great night sleep on the comfortable bed In Room TV is a good size with plenty of channels

My wife and I love the patio bar, drinks were great price and bartender made our drinks just how we like themThe complimentary breakfast is my favorite part, it’s on par with any resturant you’d go to for breakfast! The food is delicious and my wife and I started every day full and happy because of it!From the front desk to the kitchen staff to the housekeeping, all staff provided excellent service! We will definitely be coming back to Ayres Chula Vista and highly recommend it!

My husband’s and mines stay was amazing! The beds were super comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean There are so many stores and eateries within walking distance and there was a dog park just down the road that was an easy walk We brought along our 90lbs Alaskan Malamute/German Shepperd mix and the room they put us in was huge and spacious enough for two adults, our extra large dog, luggage, and her bed

The staff at the front were so kind and helpful We forgot our dog bowls at home and they were gracious enough for find us two bowls that we could use We can’t thank the staff enough for providing those for us! The grounds and building are beautiful and very well maintained An additional plus is their Tesla destination chargers so that we could charge our car while we slept All in all, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Stayed here since the place wasn’t that far from the water parkLocation – This area is a newer modern area with a lot of shopping and restaurants near byStaff – Everything was great until I decided to grab a drink at the pool bar and the bartender didn’t make that good of a old fashioned and seem bothered I caught him a few minutes before closing

Parking – Decent size lot but hard to find parking right in frontRooms – Clean, modern, good size and overall very satisfiedGrounds – Chill outside patio with pool bar, lounging area and a ok poolComplimentary Breakfast – Very Very Basic with limited optionsOverall place wasn’t bad and would consider staying here again and would recommend itGym – Has to be one of the better gyms I have experienced with a good size, newer machines, amazing views, and cleanPricing – Not too bad for what they have to offer

Such great staff/owner The rooms had recently been renovated clean and spacious We had a slight issue with the shower faucet coming off but they were accommodating about fixing it asap

We stayed 3 nights total of our week long trip wish we’d stayed the whole week There may not be a pool or a lot of parking but so worth every penny We will make this our choice hotel every time we return

We just spent our honeymoon at this lovely resort From the moment we walked in, we knew we made the right choice! Friendly staff, spacious rooms with private balconies and awesome views! Underground parking was great! Property kept really clean! The Sea Spa offered a couples massage and it was also top notch! The Cays Lounge offered great service (even had Heineken 00) and live music was definitely a plus! We will definitely be back!

Major props to Alex at the front desk for an amazing welcome and check-in experience He was so helpful and cheery! The room had an amazing view, and we spent a lot of time on the balcony looking at the great sea view The cleaning crew is very wonderful and warm, attentive at their job too

The stay itself exceeded our expectations Also enjoyed interacting with the porters/valets at the main entrance of the hotels, they give good directions! Our only complaint would be the expensive self-parking fee Overall, amazing stay!

There wasn’t even a luggage cart to help you take your luggage to the room The room had a redeculous bed The mattress didn’t even fit the bed

One towel and 2 wash clothes for 2 people for 3 nights The outside of the building and the grounds needed some TLC The refrigerator needed defrosted A homeless person sleeping in the stairwell Sorry but I’ll never be back Seemed to be in a good location

Do not stay here! I recently had booked this place for one(1) night and I could not force myself to stay here This place is straight out of a horror movie The experience was horrilbe and I should have known better just from the way I was greeted

(Skip to the end if you do not want to hear the rant)It took over 10 minutes to have someone show up at the front desk to check me and my partner in Upon arrival, the receptionist didn’t even so much as say hi to me I was given a room key and given directions on where the room was located Upon arrival to the room, it emmediately smelled like cigarettes and weed, there were patched up holes in walls, and there wasn’t even a safety lock on the door to close it I went downstairs to speak to the receptionist, another 5 minutes to show up, and requested a different room The “new/non-dirty” room was not any better Still smelled like smoke, totally run down furniture, lose hinges on the doors, and rocks for pillows I went back downstairs and told the receptionist that the room was not any better and we really did not want to stay here anymore I requested a refund since we were not staying due to the poor state of the rooms and he emediatly said there wasn’t anything he could do for me Since I booked through a third party, I needed to take it up with them I left totally upset but, figured this would work itself out given that I had a valid reason not to stay hereSince then, it has been a week, and Expedia has tried multiple times to have them give me a refund with no luck Apparently, the one to grant refunds is the general manager, who is out of town, they are not sure when he’ll be back, and the only way to reach him is through email Way to give the work around to keep the money!Save yourself the money, trouble, and disappointment and DO NOT STAY HERE!

Lorie Raschick

I booked a room online, and when I got to the motel, I had booked it for the following night I told the girl to cancel the reservation, and she said she would The next day, there was a $75 charge pending for this room

I went back to the motel, and the girl told me that I had to cancel through Expedia, and that she FORGOT to tell me this Incompetence completely So, I am out $75!! I will NEVER use this place again!!

New hotel in a residential and business area that is currently under construction Lots of great restaurants, a brewery, and shopping centers within 5 mins drive The breakfast spread was the best out of any Residence Inns and compatible hotels – individually wrapped biscuit sandwiches, yogurt, pancakes – which was very convenient for packing lunches for the nearby theme parks

Love that Sesame Place is less than a 10 minutes away they also put out cookies, fruit and juices in the lobby depending on what time of the day it is customer service was also top notch as we had an issue with an upgrade request but resolved within 3 emails from the GM Miguel with the best possible outcome this will be our go-to hotel for future visits in the CV area!

Willie Abreu

The staff at this location were very friendly and helpful The general Manager, Miguel, Ro, and Alice at the front desk went the extra mile to ensure that you felt at home and have a wonderful stay Rachel and Claudia in housekeeping, did an amazing job cleaning our room and made sure we had everything well stocked in the kitchen

The room itself was very accommodating with lovely views! Thank you again to the great staff for your attention and services

Peter Pan (The Hologram Man)

I have stayed at this property many times It’s the best Best Western I’ve stayed at and I’ve stayed at many as an Elite member of their rewards program The staff is always friendly, courteous and with positive attitudes

As a repeat guest they have gotten to know me and go above and beyond, check-in is simple and quick, they’re available when needed and otherwise unobtrusive The breakfast is one of the better for this type of property, the rooms are always clean, the location is easy access to the highway yet the positioning of the hotel makes it that the rooms are quiet I never hear Street noise or people and the rooms are up-to-date and with quality mattresses Specifically, Daniel at the front desk has been very accommodating and I am appreciative that he remembers me and my preferences with so many guests coming and going It makes for the feeling of coming home away from home 🙂

Manuel L.

Super amazing stay… nice soft beds and cold ac The staff are nice and don’t breathe down your neck like other hotels… you get the best privacy and bang for your buck The breakfast is actually free and so good

I mean, these people have a self operated waffle maker with their logo on it They really show their gust some love… compliments to the chef Oh and the beds are nice and soft 👍💯😊

We were so close to the border it was amazingThe room was big enough for all of us Nice size beds, we didn’t have a microwave to warm up our tacos but it was a great experience nonetheless

We were on the side of the freeway so we could hear the traffic, still we slept like babies We will definitely be back

Unfortunately I have to give one starTheir rooms are dirty since you arrive, couch had obvious blood splatter stainsThe towels looked like they were used to clean the floor and the manager there had the audacity to call my room and ask me to give them back their towels less dirty, How would that even be possible?!Can’t even open your windows because the house keeping there smoke cigarettes right outside the rooms , they literally have their little table setup where they chain smoke, God forbid you ask them for anything

They act like their whole career is on the line Management is poor there and I doubt it’ll get better anytime soonI’m pretty sure it’s illegal to smoke outside of the rooms

This place is very nice and we love camping there

except in the summer because of the ant problem It has been there for YEARS and they don’t seem to want to do anything about it Even though we do everything possible to keep the ants out of our rig, they manage to get in So after a day of playing you get to come back to the campground and spend hours trying to get rid of the little buggers But it is virtually impossible It is a battle you will continue to fight for DAYS!

Stayed here during San Diego Comic Con 2022 Check in was great Location is a bit run down, not the hotel, but the surrounding businesses

I actually liked the hotel layoutOnce I got to my room I did my pest check and noticed one bug on a pillow (see picture) Complained to front desk and got new bedding, sheets, and pillows within minutesIt is true there is low water pressure, barely enough pressure to shower It was interesting to wash hands because of itWalls weren’t as thin as others say Though the homeless in the area camped in the parking lot behind my room and talked for a long time during the night It was annoying trying to go to sleep but once I was asleep it was fineFor my first experience: I would stay here again, but wouldn’t recommend to friends or family

Kaloyan Kanchev

It is a one star hotel, so lower your expectations and you might actually enjoy it 😉 Best thing – our room was very big and spacious Plenty of space for our bags and other belongings

Rooms looked like they were remodeled fairly recently – new flooring, beds and furniture Apart from that you could tell it was an old building and still needed a lot of fixing Beds were comfortable and Bathroom was adequate Cleanliness and general maintenance were subpar Squashed Dead spider on the sealing for 4 days that did not get noticed despite getting room service every day Holes in the walls, loose drawer handles and broken AC We asked 3 times for someone to come look at it but Noone ever did We got lucky the weather was nice, so we didn’t really need it The outdoor pool was a nice distraction from all this and made kids happy

Nicolie “RebelAngel14”

The pictures from the website and actually being inside the hotel were not a match The room smelt like someone smoked a pack of cigarettes and I requested a non smoking room The AC unit was 7 feet above in the wall

II’m only 5’1″ so you can image how hard it was for me to turn the AC on One of thee worst hotels I have ever stayed inwill never come back here! I rather spend more money on another hotel then this dump

This Hampton Inn is located in a very interesting area that is kind of remote and surrounded by office buildings that are mainly medical It appears to be newly decorated and well-kept They allowed us to check in a little early which was nice

The pool and jacuzzi in the back are clean however not that warm The employees were all professional and kind We did have an issue with our heater in our room After we contacted the front desk the issue was resolved They do have a nice area where they sell a lot of different snacks and beer I believe they provide a morning breakfast although we didn’t use it Overall a clean well-kept place I will say that all of the sanitizing stations were empty so there was no hand sanitizer I’d recommend this hotel and I would stay there again

Stephene Ortega

This hotel and it’s employees are the most kind, considerate , polite team I’ve ever met I’m a health care worker that works night shift I need to sleep days, holiday in wants me to pay for 2 nights to sleep there one day

That’s $252 +tax Hampton inn gave me a day rate and didn’t charge me 2 nights!! They are very accommodating I’ll never go anywhere else!

Staff was nice,, upon check-in, get 2 bottles of water The rooms are clean and eco friendly with 2 mode flush options Big plus is the; we’ll help you with those items you forgot to pack like a toothbrush/paste/shaver

Nice large TV and modern, new rooms, comfortable beds and functional alarm for us business travelers Head down for breakfast in the morning dished out by staff Ask for a tray to bring it back to your room if your overly cautious like myself Avoid the toll highway on the way to the hotel

I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel The room was nice and clean when I entered The staff I interacted with during my stay were nice

The only complaint I have is the lock to the bathroom door would get stuck when in lock position and the shower knob was very hard to use They do offer breakfast for about $7 which is nice Serving the basics like Scrambled egg, bacon, potatoes, and toast or bagel As well as cereal, cookies, yogurt, and coffee Over all I enjoyed my stay

TATIANA TOE

This is a nice place compared to the price given I didn’t even finish to unpack my bags and I’m already writing a review Loby smells nice, very professional young man at the front desk

Staff is very professional Everything about this place is nice Room is comfortable and cozy Nice size TV compared to other hotels and bathroom is nice Keep the good work guys!

Rebekah Krishak

Very nice staff, clean rooms, parking, breakfast, beds comfortable, just nice place all around Rooms in front you can hear the traffic really well so I had to sleep with the bathroom fan running The lady that does breakfast is very very nice! However it says free breakfast on website it’s not free anymore and only a few bucks which is added on to your total

They don’t have little refrigerators which sucks but they have water bottles at front desk which I usually got 4 a day, even would get a bottle when I was leaving to go explore the area

This was a great hotel for me and my family of 5 Check in was quick, service is excellent, breakfast was standard but delicious and everything we needed! The rooms are clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the abthrooms were clean I usually get creeped out by smells and textures but i had no reservations about staying here

The rooms and furnishings are slightly dated but everything is very clean and comfortable The pool area was clean and the water was heated We were all very happy

Daiyaan Epps El

The service was excellent Although the rooms are extremely dated, and the beds are super uncomfortable! I did a lot of tossing and turning throughout the night Unless you are staying for more than a week, there will be no bed service to clean the room

Luckily we only stayed one night You are able to control the air conditioning from the room with the old school window unit, which is a plus, and it gets super cold!

We booked a room on their website, and wrote on the comments section we were bringing a service dog to be polite While we were on our way to check in, the hotel called and let us know we were not welcome there, and that they would be canceling our room They do not allow service dogs, even though we offered proof that he is fully trained

The owner tried to explain thay they believe he is a true service dog, but that it doesnt matter, they do not allow them The owner apologized We were originally charged but they refunded it same day, before they called us

Wonderful small hotel in the historic 3rd Avenue district of Chula Vista Many great local restaurants, bakeries and other small businesses within a short walk It seemed like when we asked our navigation system how long it would take to drive to our destination every day, it told us “19 minutes

” So it’s very convenient to get to all the sights of San DiegoThe hotel was very quiet every night, with very little traffic noise so that we were able to get a good rest The beds have just the right firmnessThis hotel is family owned and Karen, one of the owners and the person who we saw the most, is a very gracious and accommodating hostWe will recommend this hotel to all our friends We’re so happy that we found it!

The rooms smell like mold and cat litter We were in one room on the second floor and switched to a lower floor due to my sons medical issues and that room smelled worse The room was clean but the carpet was filthy

My socks were black Get to the continental breakfast early, around 7a when it opens, so you’re able to get something small to snack on I booked on Priceline and it says there is an elevator, there is NOT an elevator Thank you to the young man who was working who got us to a first floor room right when one opened up Close to the beach and a lot of restaurants Close to the downtown Chula Vista area Not too far of a drive to get to San Diego, maybe 15-20 min the most I wouldn’t stay here again Only nice thing was the staff was helpful

My boyfriend and I liked staying here they surprisingly have a complimentary breakfast , It’s quiet and the price was cheap It’s really close to the trolley you can ride it south for a day trip to Mexico or north to discover different parts of San Diego We had aN easy check in and had no Complaints

The place itself is close to the trolley, gas station, grocery store, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, Black Angus Steak House, Aunt Emma’s Pancake House, Denny’s, Taco Bell, liquor Stores, Restaurant Bars, Seafood, and even a cardroom casinoEver since the new ownership came in over a year ago the outside of the place has been fixed up It has been repainted, the street surrounding the building itself has been fixed and repainted, they have added lighting outside, they have cleaned up and fixed all around their pool area, and they have begun to replace all their small refrigerators and microwaves but are still working on it, they are beginning to change all their bedding linens, towels, shower curtains, and accessories but still have more to work on

They completely remodeled their front desk look and all of their receiving area along with their kitchen and eating area but they need to change and remodel their employees because aside of the person the owners have put in charge who is Vic the other guy in charge (Carlos) is rude, arrogant, nosy unprofessional, treats his employees and even some customers bad, and seems to have favoritism for specific housekeeping employees, the two maintenance men are very nice, polite, and respectful along with all the young housekeepers ( both male and female) but half of the older housekeepers need to keep themselves busy working and keeping clean and not worried about the men who come and stay here or that they work with, and as for the rest of the staff for the most part they are nice, helpful, polite, and professionalThe rooms have a good size and the beds are very comfortable but the walls are beat up and dirty, the floors are dirty, the furniture is pretty beat up, and they need a lot of work still with the interior appearanceAs for the laundry they need to work harder and get on point because even though they have begun to bring in all new stuff and replace all the old for the new it is beginning to look the same as before because they don’t seem to care much to keep up They are careless when folding and putting their just washed stuff away They drop stuff on the floor and don’t seem to care if they give people their dirty, stained, and damaged stuff

Feedback From Real Customers

To be clear this is not a 5 star hotel It is an older well maintained hotel with good staff and clean rooms that is pet friendly It is just off the highway and coming from the highway you will need to make a u-turn to get to it

The Dennys in the parking lot is excellent For the money and being only 19 minutes from downtown SD it is a great option

Stayed here for a month due to water damage in our home and I cannot say our stay has been anything less than exceptional!Great customer service at the front desk and pet friendly !security walks around at night so we did feel very safe when we had to take the dog out too use the restroom in the middle of the nightFree breakfast ! The breakfast is very simple so do not expect a 4 star meal but definitely perfect to grab some coffee and a small bite to go in the morning they also have waffles on the weekendNoticed a lot of tourist and families staying here along with some workers on the weekday

Perfect location if you’re a tourist on a budget !Close to freeways and some great Mexican food Definitely would recommend staying here :)A BIG thank you from the Meza family
