I was between ratings in this stay I have a relative that put us up in this guesthouse that lives in the area HIGHLY recommend the area as all the restaurants and shops are very walkable and such a beautiful area in a lively neighborhood

Contactless check in was a plus, we stayed in the Beverly cleary room which faces the front of the guesthouse keeping in mind spring to fall there is an ac unit in the window so you hear quite a bit (We turned on the fan feature and it drowned everything out) It was a large room with its own bathroom The public guest areas were very nice and always clean with breakfast accommodations and a fridge (Though they only had one tiny drawer for guests) My only reason for not doing 5 stars was because of a staff member who came off very cold and unwelcoming I believe she was actually one of the owners I heard someone in the hall so opened the door and as I stood in the doorway I say hello! And her response was “mask!” (These are required in their public areas at this time) I then say ok… we are staying here almost a week and we were just wondering if we could get more towels? She responds with “they are right next to you, As it states in the welcome letter Mind you this was a very brisk tone like we were being a nuisance Well I read and reread that letter and it says to ask if someone is available … so we were just following direction I have worked in all industries and would not talk a to patron this way Many different ways to have handled this Other than that there was a gentleman that was there on arrival, very nice, as well as the cleaning staff

***This review was written about a stay during COVID***Exceeded our expectations! The website photos did not do the room justice We stayed in the first floor studio and it was a lot larger than expected Bed was very comfortable, shower was very nice

Most important to us (we were traveling with a packed car) there was a parking lot attached to the property, we were able to move things very easily from our car to the roomBreakfast was grab and go, perfect for our situation Would gladly stay again next time we are in the PNW

I picked this place for our girls trip to Portland since we wanted a fun place to stay It looked cute in the photos and all was well after booking I checked the website when we landed in Portland to see what time we could check in and it was not until 3pm so we decided to go explore since we couldn’t check in

I got a call later from the owner asking what time we would be there and this was at around 1pm I was confused but was told that she would leave a key in a spot for usWhen we arrived there was not a lot of street parking but after stalking a car we found a spot in front of the house The outside is really cute with a great porch Inside is kind of an adventure Great vintage pieces and good Victorian accentsI asked the owner of there was anyone else staying the night we were and she said all but one room was full! We decided to haul our luggage upstairs to our room and check it out The shared shower room upstairs was pretty dirty! There was dirt and ants in the shower and small black hairsWe got back from dinner at 8pm and literally the house was dark There was no one there We tried finding a glass for water and found that the kitchen was barricaded with something behind the door stopping us from going in thereWhen we woke up the next morning, still no one was there I just wish the owner would have called us and told us we were the only ones there for security and safety reasonsI would not stay here again

There is a lot to love about this place The beers, the winery, the decently prized food and it’s proximity to some beautiful waterfalls Nevertheless, there were somethings that rubbed me the wrong way

First, know that unless you specifically request it, the restrooms are shared While I can understand the appeal for some, I needed this to be more explicit prior to our booking We ended up getting a room with our own toilet and shower for an additional $50 a night (we stayed three nights) Second, the restaurants on sight offer mostly fried food I left that place full but feeling like I needed to do a detox for my arteries sake Just know what you are getting into before deciding to go with this place

Hannah

So much to do and so much fun! It was really nice walking around while waiting on our table to be ready You are able to stop at the different bars for drinks, there’s music, and just an overall great atmosphere The garden was beautiful to walk around and I cannot wait to go back to explore more

The food was delicious, drinks were tasty, and the service was great!

Robert Schindele

This is the only place I’ve been to where they could get 5 stars and be so outdatedThe atmosphere is amazing The facilities are unique

There are multiple bars all within a short walk of one another with their own drinksThe history and art are accessible and interesting I would highly recommend this place for a stay of a few nights

The best hostel!!!!! I stayed here for a week (in a private queen room) and couldn’t fault it at all Super modern, clean and awesome The rooftop bar was a huge plus, although not open every night so be aware of that

Great location to get to downtown on the bus or walk to some cool restaurants Staff were lovely Seriously can’t stop thinking about how cool the place was, wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels before and this genuinely was the nicest Don’t miss it!

Samantha Georgi

Great idea, has potential, lacking in executionI stayed in one of the 4 bed female dorms for 2 nights I was very excited about a new hostel in Portland

I’ve stayed in many a European hostel so am familiar with the structure and price bracket The facility is clean and modern and the attached cafe and rooftop bar are nice amenities Unfortunately I was too exhausted the first night to check out the rooftop bar, and on the second night it was mostly blocked off for a private event that appeared to also block the computer room area, which I was planning to use I wish that guests were priority in the use of space, especially considering that the price for 2 nights came to $103 total for a dorm room which is higher than most hostelsThe layout of the shared dorms is great in theory – enter into a common area with a small locker for luggage storage and 2 toilets/2 showers shared by 3 – 4 bed dorm rooms which are accessed through this room I would think the intention behind this is to keep non-sleeping activities out of the quiet spaces for sleeping However, the lockers are too small so luggage ends up in the room anyway The photos on the website failed to show single window dorm rooms, which have a more claustrophobic feel The bunks don’t seem to be bolted to the wall, which allows them to shake a fair bit when getting in or outThe most disappointing part of the layout is that despite what seems like careful planning of intentional quiet spaces, the doors are all THE loudest self closing doors in a space with no sound absorption so you constantly hear the slam of doors at any hour someone comes in or uses the bathroom I understand rugs would be hard to keep clean, but some kind of sound absorption paired with soft-close doors would be a huge upgrade to this spaceOverall, the hostel served it’s purpose of offering a reasonably affordable and clean place to stay in a great location And all the staff I encountered seem great

Peter Custer

Perfect place to launch a college reunion trip Lolo Pass was ideal for our group and we used a ton of the first-class accommodations We enjoyed the rooftop views, the coffee at the cafe and even participated in a local wine tasting event held in the lobby

The staff was friendly and helpful…Steering us to a great meal within close walking distanceRoom was clean and quiet Highly recommend

It doesn’t go without saying you get what you pay for With that being said this place actually exceeded our expectations Front desk was phenomenal along with the housekeeping

Everything was functional in the room and it was actually really clean too Plenty channels to choose from with free wifi The only questionable part is the area it’s located in which is out of their control The lot is extremely well lit to provide comfort Bit noisy from the road but the coffee place across the street is something else We have no issues or complaints whatsoever

Holly Walker

This motel has been thoughtfully and tastefully redone Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, bedding nice and sheets soft Rooms had ceiling fans and main room had typical motel wall a/c and heat unit

2nd bedroom had electric wall heater Kitchenette surprisingly had full size oven/range and full size fridge in addition to microwave though NO utensils, pots or pans, or any other kitchen ware so BYO everything if you plan to use it It did have a dish cloth & towel but that was it All the cupboards were bare Counter had a toaster No breakfast served here Staff super friendly and helpful

Did not really require anything much for services but employees are friendly and attentive Check in Monday and out FridayWhat I LOVED about my stay is how quiet my room was

No light seeps into the room, did not hear anyone in hallways, to the left or right My room was on 3rd (top) floor I have never slept so well at any hotelConvenient to get around, close to freeway and quick drive back to airport 5 days 4 nightsWhat I wish they would do is remove all carpet Seems someone cooked in that room and you could tell there is a bit of residual smell when you open the door

Joe Ousley

Older property that has been updated The service was top notch The location provides easy acces to the airport and Hwy 205

The room was comfortable, though the doorway made a tight fit to get to the bathroom That detail was the only drawback in the room The full kitchen had a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, and microwaveThe breakfast had good offerings I do wish the coffee set up were in a different location It is next to the Very Busy waffle maker This makes it difficult during busy times to simply refill a coffee cup A bigger selection of fresh fruit would have been nice as well The oatmeal was tasty and had a wide variety of toppings The staff was very attentive, and William went above and beyond to assist my 83 year old MotherI also recommend adding EV charging stations Overall a great stay

jennifer schmitt

Great place to stay Very accommodating Room was very clean

We had the two bedroom suite It was bigger than I expected Breakfast was great Good parking We had my whole family here with us and everyone had nothing but great things to say It was close enough to places to eat Right across the bridge is a Walmart Right up the road is the airport Good location! I’d definitely stay here again!

One of the better Courtyards I’ve stayed at The main lobby was very spacious and had many lounge sofas and the interior was decorated beautifully I was surprised this location didn’t have a pool which I was looking forward to use

The 24hr gym has decent amount of equipments and was well kept I was surprised there was even a bike trail behind the hotel which I made use of The trail cut thru the forest behind the hotel so it was a nice quiet place away from city noise

Wolfgang’s Mom

I am a traveling nurse I started with 4 other nurses I showed up, on a Sunday and was unable to lock in a price for nurses

Was told to speak to the manager J Paul, the next day He offered me $149 a night, or whatever price was on the website, for that day My stay for Sunday was $116, the next next it was $150 Aqua, the check in lady, said it would be lower than $113 for the rest of my stay Another, younger, better looking nurse got a rate of $113, for the same contract, that I am working We are 5 women, that wanted to stay together, but he was not about to help us, as we traveled to his town, to help out his communityThe was no breakfast, for $149, no muffin, no juice My shower didn’t drain My TV turned off, every few hours, to reboot I had a great view, in the back, of the homeless, living in the woods If you want a different view, get a room in the front Stains on the chair and bedspread Housekeeping entered my room, without knockingThey charge high prices, for motel 6 qualityThe other nurse, left the same day as myself We are now at a Hilton property, for much less, with nicer rooms and free breakfastI am letting all my fellow travel nurses know, avoid the Marriott They don’t like nurses

Katie Anderson

The service was kind, the place was clean, and it slept us all My only reason for 3 stars is that I had booked a king with a separate seating area, shown with a door dividing This is perfect for our family

They seemingly just put us in any room, asking if we had a floor preference, and we ended up in a standard king No privacy for the kiddo, and no reduction in charges

This is the most amazing guest house! We booked the suite on the 3rd floor, which had a double shower, claw foot tub, sitting area, king bed,and two balconies for less than the price of an inexpensive motel room All of this in a historic home with breakfast It was scrupulously clean as well

We’ll definitively return!

Katherine Gifford

We stayed 2 nights and it was a unique and comfortable guesthouse! We had our own patio and the claw foot bathtubs were my favorite! The guesthouse is located in a great part of town and there was parking which was a plus The stain glass windows throughout the lobby and the 2nd floor were beautiful I highly recommend staying here if you don’t mind not having a TV in your room

That was fine with us because there was so much to do around town Thanks Evermore Guesthouse! We won’t forgot it!

Holly VanDyk

Old world vibe and definitely haunted It’s full of friendly energies Amazing hospitality and comfortable surroundings

Will definitely be back every time we come to town 3rd floor hike up to the suite with luggage is not for the faint of heart but is worth the climb to the best en suite bathroom The accommodations are amazing But don’t come here expecting new world technology, there are no televisions in the rooms, which is best for hearing the house groan and whine in Portland wind

What a gem! This was the perfect place for a quick little getaway The staff were friendly and accommodating, our room was beautiful and comfortable, and we loved sipping our morning coffee in the atrium I’m not a fan of inflated “5-star” reviews but I truly can’t think of anything that would have made our stay nicer

Even the breakfast place they sent us to (Natalia’s) was awesome Definitely worth a visit!

Robin Ohman

I had what they referred to as a European style room

shared bathroom was across the hall And indeed I have encountered this a few times over the years while traveling Europe No problem the shared bath was huge with a great shower The room itself was very clean with all amenities and a small sink in the corner Staff was friendly and efficient It is a funky little boutique hotel perfectly located in what turned out to be a great little downtown area in Camas, Oregon

I could not recommend this hotel more! We stayed in the honeymoon suite for the week of our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was so comfortable and charming, and everything about the hotel and town is just so cute, we can’t wait to come back! I loved going over to Natalia’s for our complimentary breakfast each morning too the portions are huge, the space is adorable and the coffee was delicious!

Picked because it was close to the airport The room we booked did not exist, despite being early We were given a king with a fold out couch instead, which was fine but they had no bedding for it

My kids used 4 single fitted sheets for blankets and stuffed animals for pillows I had to use the cover from the king bed for them The walls are thin, and I could hear constant thumping, talking, loud laughing and banging until 1am The shower faucet fell off and had to be screwed in Room was spacious and clean but the service is lacking We were told when checking in there was a shuttle every 20 minutes 24/7 We went down and were told all were full for another hour Very stressful at 5 in the morning Not knowing if you could get on a shuttle and might miss your flight is ridiculous, so for an airport hotel I was deeply unimpressed Breakfast only starts at 6, so we didnt get that either Not responsive to its main purpose

Tammy Tengs

I’m a Hilton Honors member so have stayed at many Hilton-brand hotels all over the place I chose this hotel because the HOME2 brand is newer, so I figured the hotel would be newer and nicer than others I was surprised that I had to pay $10 to park

Entryway had cigarette butts strewn all over, numerous couches outdoors with debris, dirty cushions, etc The clerk that checked me in forgot to mention basic things like the fact that the elevator was controlled with the card you use to get in your room, wifi password, breakfast time, etc The alarm in the room went off at 5:30 am when I wanted to sleep to 9 am, probably set by the last occupant Housekeeping really needs to make a habit of turning off alarms when cleaning rooms The room itself was very clean and nice and the bed was comfortable Also good black-out shades

Vanessa Auman

First time we experienced a home 2 suites that was disorganized, or lack of needs for the hotel Such as towels or pool towels This location had staff that as well lacked there duties

For example we stayed here for a week In that week time not once did someone go in there and clean up by fixing the chairs, making it look decent, there was hair residue in the hot tub, in the pool, there were multiple bandages on the floor near the pool and hot tub This place didn’t seem to understand covid is still in affect and they should be on top of thingsThis location is also in the same parking lot as two other hotels and does not show you that in any pictures They also have heavy traffic of near by homeless or people on drugs So Far the Home 2 suites in Bend is for most our favorite and on top of things no question Portland area and surrounding areas lack big time

We had such a good time on our first stay, that we decided to book the same tiny Bamboo house, for a second timeSadly, it was in a bit of disrepair- missing light fixture, absent kitchen ware, etc As directed, I had requested sheets for the pull-out couch; no sheets were waiting for us on arrival

Maybe we will try a different house, next time

Bridget Van Well

Almost a week after checkout my boyfriend and I keep saying how much we miss tiny digs! We stayed for a short weekend and had the best time in our tiny home There were some issues with my reservation but Leanne was so helpful in getting everything sorted Just be weary in winter times there is a shortage of hot water and only a space heater

This didn’t affect us much as we still greatly enjoyed our stay Can’t wait to come back during our next time in Portland

Tiff Freccero

My sister and I stopped here for a night on our roadtrip up north, and absolutely loved it! Clean, comfortable and very functional for a small space I loved the bathroom! We chose the tiny home that was dog friendly, and it was a great match A ton of restaurants in walking distance

We loved the german one right around the corner! I would highly recommend a stay here again

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedWe had an early flight into Portland and called the hotel when I landed (like they told me to when I called earlier in the week) and they put us in a room that was ready when we arrived at 10am! Super helpful staff Clean and definitely worth the cost

I’ve been to the Monarch a few times now for a yearly convention and I always enjoy myself The rooms and halls are still somewhat dated and older but that never bothers me The pool area has been built up and is great to relax at

Both the indoor and outdoor restaurant is delicious, while the underground themed area is fun and different The staff is always courteous, kind, and easy to get ahold of They do an excellent job of taking care of the convention goers before, during, and after the event Cannot wait to come back next year

I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great experience But that was 5 years ago This time was awful

We needed a place to stay while we were selling our house and had our open house The first night, the keys didn’t work to the first room they gave us, so they gave us another room This room was on the first floor and was very dirty The sink had grime all around it, the shower head was falling out, there was black hair in the tub and I’m pretty sure it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time House keeping only comes if you call and request and they do bare minimum, they didn’t even change our sheets even though I had requested that Oh and the whole first floor reeked of pot the whole time We booked three nights and only stayed two Avoid this hotel if staying in the area Go to the Marriott down the road It’s worth the extra money!!

I stayed here for two weeks with work and loved it Great deck, hearty morning breakfast and a welcoming bar at nice Close to all of the downtown action, but in its own quiet little neighborhood

Easy access to the shops and river boardwalk as well! No problems keeping my bicycle in the room and getting it in the elevator and the best part, the rooms have kitchens! I will be back!

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a stay They compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in this area

I’ve been coming here for a long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t regret itAwesome location Walk from the hotel along the river for some great iconic views We caught the cherry blossoms while we were there There is also a Saturday market Rooms are really comfy Staff are friendly and the breakfast was OK Probably bring your own coffee, though or get it at a café nearby 🤣

Enjoyed my stay Totally safe and very convenient when it comes to public transportation access Only downside is that the hotel floors were always dirty (but I understand that they have labor shortage )and don’t have enough house keepers

We were told that the house keeper would come after fourth night but no one came The complementary breakfast is very repetitive and ya get the same thing (egg, hash, and sausage) everyday except Sunday But the staff were very friendly Overall enjoyed our stay
