We reserved a block of rooms for my husband’s 50th birthday Janet Woods, Director of Sales, was phenomenal! She helped me ever step of the way with my planning needs She was always quick to respond, courteous, and professional

I’d definitely recommend this propertyI gave four stars instead of five due to the kids hockey tournament that stayed at the property They were loud but no reflection of how the property hosted my group

Melissa Galindo

Other than them trying to charge our training class a deposit which was already paid for by our company! But overall their rooms were extravagant and their breakfast was really goodI also enjoyed their swimming pool and laundry, weight roomsAll were great!👍Only thing is housekeeping never went to service our rooms for our 2 nights stay which I found strange

With my career, I stay at many hotels for a month or longer As of last March, with everything going on, it became hard to expect exceptional service With my stay so far, I have been very satisfied

I did not expect to be this pleased with my stay here at the townplace suites They are doing a wonderful job with a clean hotel in these less then perfect times

I stay at a lot of hotels, generally Marriott Titanium Elite, lifetime status, blah blah Point is I stay at a lot of Marriott brand hotels

Experiences like I had at this hotel are the exact reason that I don’t stay exclusively at Marriott If a nearby Hilton is $20 or so cheaper I’ll stay there instead Why? Because all hotel brands will treat you like garbage and do nothing to correct it And this Courtyard is a great exampleI called to ask about the shuttle service and I was told that the shuttle just loops around every 30 minutes or so Good deal pretty typical BUT, the dispatcher had great news: she was going to make sure the driver knew someone was waiting So I waited 10 minutes or so and watched… watched as the shuttle drove past the sign marked “hotel shuttles” I stood up and started the 20 foot walk over I then watched as the driver picked up 0 riders, and after waiting roughly 15 seconds, he left I ran I ran as fast as I could but… he was faster I called the dispatcher back and they said the driver would circle back around He didn’t 30 minutes later the shuttle pulled back around and AGAIN drove past me This time, I hollered You know, since I was already left once Luckily though, this time the driver was stuck behind another shuttle so he didn’t take off But he sure let me know I shouldn’t hollerUltimately, the shuttle driver lied, the dispatcher lied, and the shuttle driver was a complete jerk, which I was admittedly a jerk back Also; if you’re reading this and you’re the grandma or teenage hippie that butted in, you still have no clue what you’re talking about But I apologize to everyone for yelling back at the driver

Well, not my favorite Marriot at all! Not really Courtyard Marriot standards in my opinion Courtyard was not well taken care of My room had a very bad musty smell that had to air out with open patio and window plus lysol

Furniture has been beaten up pretty bad lots of nicks and dents on Furniture stains on carpet Sofa bed mattress ripping We had a three night stay and decided to leave early Night before check outI will say that the service was pretty good People were nice and accommodating This place need some work though I guess for airport stay with lots of traffic it could be a lot worse?but for my hotel snobsfind another Marriot not this one (Wish I listened to the bad reviews) This was 2 star in my opinion I raised the star because the workers seem nice I won’t stay here again though Didn’t feel “clean” enough for me and my family I had to ask for a new coffee maker because of a bad experience 👎🏼 Sheraton near by was a lot nicer but I haven’t stay there in over a year so I like the option to sit in the courtyard with Courtyard view but again Courtyard has been neglected Comfy bed though Except I was right next to the wash room so my bed was like a vibrating massage chair except I wasn’t comforted or relaxed by it Gave me a headache 😩 All in all *thinking*I guess it was between disliked and just ok So 25 star if they had that option but I gave three 😇

Made my reservation at approximately 8:30pm today after our flight was cancelled Tried reaching the hotel for nearly two hours to get a ride from the shuttle and never got an answer Called the toll frr number and customer relations and was told I could file a formal complaint which didn’t help with the transportation issue

Ended up paying $25 for an Uber and was told when it arrived their phone lines were down Finally got checked in at 11pm only to be disgusted by the condition of the room It was filthy! I dont know how this place received good reviews because as you can see from the pics its gross

Nice place It’s really cheap if you get the dorm style room The bunk bed rooms are the same cost and quality as a Motel 6 or Days Inn but smaller

Not sure about the single bed rooms Feels very home-like but also feels like a place for travelers It’s about a half hour walk or 5-7 minute drive to downtown It was kind of cold last time I went though, I woke up a bit cold and the hot water in the first floor bathroom didn’t seem to work right

I stayed at Hostel Detroit for three nights in October 2021 Any time I texted or emailed with staff it was always a helpful experience and I felt supported with my questions Being still in coronavirus times, the place was fairly empty so I didn’t see but one other guest while I was there

Someone was playing loud music to make up for the lack of other guests my first night, but I was exhausted and didn’t ask if they’d mind turning it down after quiet hours started I had rented a private room to have a “home base” for my stuff, which was a good decision regardless, though I ended up not needing it for privacy 🙂 shoutouts to Stevie the bike, I put it through miles of Detroit roads I tried eating at several of the places recommended by the hostel and all were great I love hostels and I loved that HD had private rooms for those of us who want the social aspect without necessarily needing a luggage lock when we leave I appreciated this strange time for what it was, but look forward to when I can hear people from around the world talking about their lives again

I have stayed in worse places, but this was the worst Marriott property I have every stayed atWe paid way to much for what we received I would not pay more than $100 a night where I paid more than twice that

I would not recommend this place to a friend The smell of weed was strong, inside the hallways and outside the buildings Neighbor had two dogs that barked The room was not clean Feet were sticking to the floor, upholstery was ripped, carpet and beds were stained The hotel is located very close to run down and abandoned buildings and a good amount of sirens which did not make us feel safe Me, wife and kids did not get much sleep that night The positives: The people we interacted with were polite and nice We checked for bugs and did not find any actively crawling around and my car was still there in the morning Marriott customer service said there was nothing they could do to help us with our situation which was disappointing

Sharise Talley

I truly enjoyed my stay inside the room but there was a Marijuana smell in the hallwayHowever, my room was clean but I did have to ask for different sheets they looked dusty not dirtyIt is a mini stove in the room so I did cook

Overall it was a 3 Location was ideal for traffic

TD B

The good: we had a 2 bdrm suite (which are rare)! Full kitchen (fridge, stove, coffee maker dishwasher and microwave) living area, separate sink area from shower and hot breakfast with variety including meat and eggs Off the highway

Room was clean, bed comfortable Great service Priced well! The bad: location is off highway but surrounding neighborhood is sketchy (not the place to go jogging) Gas stations close-by are a def no (off-brand, panhandling, etc)The ugly: Bring your own food/snacks The Walmart nearby is disgusting Pool is small and outside Its was the fourth weekend so the pool crowd was a bit rowdy and crowded Ppl smoke outside and near the pool (fyi Cannabis is legal)Overall a good stay for 2 days to visit family

Giving a five star despite what happened in the very beginning My stay was booked as a king but arrived to a queen double bed Verified my booking and sure enough it was a king booked

I called down to request a change and got a different room but the bed sheet had not been changed Bed fixed accordingly but not sure if the crew have been advised that the room had been checked out So I spoke with Brittany (night auditor)and she took care of everything without hesitation So grateful for her My stay was great And my room matched my Hilton status Thanks again Brittany…Walking distance to great food and drink 499 a night for parking if you want to park inside the lot with a gate entrance People parked next to it for free Up to you I had been out on company time-so they cover it Also be sure to ask for a pet free room as this hotel is pet friendly

Pleasant stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton We booked this hotel to visit Henry Ford Museum and a few more places nearby We were so glad we booked this hotel; it was very close to all the popular restaurants and attractions

Parking (you pay for it per day btw) was very convenient instead of a road-side parking Staff always had a smile on their face and never say no to our requests They kept everything clean and sanitized Overall, a clean and comfy place for you/your families to stayComplimentary Breakfast was a bit boring with very limited choices You would stop enjoying after a day (or two) I am sure kids would love it

Andrew G

So clear that whomever is at top management treats the employees well because every single employee from the front desk to the housekeeping crew had positive attitudes, were genuinely helpful and exhibited great work ethic Shout out to Rhonda – you stock and run a breakfast buffet like no other —shout out to Alexis, thank you for your special touches, recommendations and professional and warm demeanor

Arrived for a family reunion on Friday after a 12 hr drive The staff here really make this place worth the money!! The stains on the furniture was a little off putting The breakfast didn’t sit well on my stomach

It was nice that they let the pool stay open a little later for the children My concern was hearing the screaming and yelling could be heard in my room two floors up

I booked a room here for 2 nights as a small getaway for my birthday It was so quiet and just

amazing! If you’re a mom + wife, y’all know what I mean! The hotel and room were clean, the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable, water pressure was okay, fridge/microwave & TV all worked well (back was missing on the remote 🤷🏽‍♀️) I was impressed with the breakfast because a lot of places do not have very many non-pork options on their menu They had a fancy waffle station too! There was a variety of breakfast options to choose from and the juice options were good too; it wasn’t that weak and nasty, cheap stuff some places offer Made me wish I didn’t sleep in my first morning and got it two days in a row!Checking in and out from within the app and having a digital key are great bonuses I didn’t have too much interaction with the staff, except for when my room needed to be switched (cord for the blinds was broken in my first room, so I asked to be moved to a different room) Her vibe was so-so, nothing exceptional All in all, I would definitely stay here again and I recommend this location I hope to check out the pool and other amenities next time!

Barbara Herzog

Good location close to The Henry Ford Museum and highway Nice, clean hotel Friendly helpful staff

Good breakfast and the woman who oversaw the breakfast was very helpful, asking everyone if they were finding what they needed and always busy cleaning and stocking Room was nice except for poor lighting Light on ceiling when you first walk in didn’t work Light on desk only pointed down and low, not helpful for tasks or adding more Light to room Fridge very small and didn’t hold much or taller bottlesOverall it was a nice stay and I would recommend it

Brandi J

Bed was comfy Front desk gentleman was very funny and great to interact with upon check-in Did thank me for being a honors member and provided me with the member check in snack bag

When my digital key did not work I had the privilege of working with another women who apologized and thank me again for being a Hilton honors member and worked very quickly to resolve the issueThe room on other hand, needs a major update and repair I couldn’t find the remote and upon looking under the bed found the remote, along with a water bottle cap, price tag for new clothing, among a few other items of garbage You could tell the ceiling had been replaced from water damage The seams were splitting and you could see brown water marks on the ceiling It was a big square right above the TV (room 423) The bath tub could use a deep cleaning as it had a few black marks (maybe mold) along the seams The bed was super comfortable, the AC was great, my room faced the train and it was very sound proofed from hearing the train I never heard itA few things to improve on and this would have been a great stay

Everyone at this hotel was wonderful – the housekeeping manager – Anita, the front desk attendant, and the young man at the breakfast bar Anita told us that the staff was like a family, many working there 25+ years, and we could tell how much they enjoyed their jobs The hotel was very clean, the pool was fun for the kids, and the breakfast (not free) was amazing

I’d pay for good food over a continental breakfast Easy drive to the Ford museums Thanks to this team!

Kenton Snyder

My family and I planned on staying in the area for two nights We booked the rooms with another hotel, however, based on our first nights experience, we got out of that place as quickly as we couldNeeding a place for our second night, we found availability at the Courtyard

I was immediately impressed with the staff, the service, and the attentiveness that we received The room was clean, in order, and everything functioned as it should (all of which was severely lacking in our hotel the previous night) I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable place to rest Will definitely come back the next time we are in the area

Elizabeth Pier

The staff at this hotel are nothing short of amazing So incredibly helpful, friendly, and kind We had to book a room last minute due to disrupted travel at DTW and they were beyond accommodating and understanding, as we switched back and forth many times between needing a second night and not needing a second night as our updated travel plans constantly evolved

They turned a stressful event into a comforting and relaxing experience We also had really delicious breakfast sandwiches there!

Absolutely beautiful hotel! Walked in and got blown away Was shocked to find pictures online axtually match the hotel and it wasn’t all staged We met the GM and was greater by amazing hospitality

The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable especially if you enjoy extra firm mattresses The pool and sauna was amazing too! Pool was at a constant warm temperature too We had no issues, no noise complaints, no issues at all Everything was really nice and definitely will be back!

April & Robert

This is a very nice and clean hotel We enjoyed using the pool except when 3 kids were left alone in the pool and the mother was laying in the sauna until I said something to her Other than that we had a pleasant stay

The rooms were nice and clean We loved the jacuzzi tubs The lady at the front was nice and helpful The breakfast was a little bit of a let down though, not too much to choose from

Ben Schnose

We were looking for the perfect hotel to celebrate after our wedding, and after looking at 4 star hotels in the area we were discouraged Then we happened to find the Leo Collection and immediately knew this was the one we wantedThe outside, lobby, and room were all clean and beautiful

You could tell it was recently constructed, though, because of some stickers on the shelving hardware We weren’t a fan of the rainfall shower, partly because of the style but also because it somehow leaked all over the bathroom floorThe in-room jacuzzi definitely made up for it; it was definitely the highlight of the room The TV swiveled out so we could watch from the living room space or the bed The little zen garden was a nice touch tooThe nightstand drawer started to fall apart when we opened it, but we didn’t use it anyway So there were a few small kinks they still need to smooth out, but overall we were extremely satisfied and would love to come again some day

Stay was 3 nights Bed very comfortable Hotel was quiet

Good location for our purpose Check in smooth Blinking vanity light in first room We complained and were moved Second afternoon, on arrival to floor very strong marijuana smell w hallway window open Complained Front desk attendant came up and opened another window Smell continued through night 3rd day asked for housekeeping Clean towels were placed in Bathroom but no trash emptied, no bed linens straighted, no vacuuming done We won’t be staying here again

Bee Bee Jones

Positives: It was very clean The breakfast bar was very nice Pool area was impeccably clean and well stocked with towels

Negatives: I wasn’t provided with a “do not disturb” sign The toilet seat was chipped which was painful to sit on My room never got dark enough due to insufficient coverage and thickness of curtains as well as the obnoxious lighting in the hallway which bled into my room through the door The HVAC system came on and off every 2 to 3 minutes, so I had to run the fan setting all through the night I was there 3 days before receiving housekeeping services only because I called to request it I was assured I wouldn’t have to do that Also one day I called for a trash pickup and six hours later, it hadn’t been completed I had to call again, after which time, it was finally completed Another inconvenience was being repeatedly locked out of my room because my keys wouldn’t work

Amber Roberts

Would not go back Front desk help was rarely at the front desk The hallways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in days

Gave us 2 towels for 6 people so I had to keep going back to ask for more Then kept giving us hand towels instead of washcloths Half of the breakfast items were unavailable The pancake maker worked once in 3 days The only two good things about it was the location and that it was cheap Spend the extra money to stay somewhere else

Awesome place to stay Staff is so friendly and helpful Clean rooms, lobby, gym area, breakfast area

Loved the kitchen with a full size refrigerator and everything you need I brought a electric fry pan and we had all of our meals in the room Saved us a lot on eating out Was worth every penny Will seek out Home2 locations for further stays

Jewel Beji

I really enjoyed the front desk staff, breakfast, my room and the amenities! However, being on night shift, my colleagues and I had a big issue with housekeeping banging the doors in the mornings when they’re cleaning and going in and out of the rooms using a door stopper (not all of them do that though) And on my day off, I was waiting for housekeeping to do my room and one of them reported that I refused cleaning when I didn’t even have a DND sign on my door or anything The rest of features of the hotel really saved my rating and outlook

Overall, thank you all for being so welcoming to our team and going above and beyond for us!

I try to be fair and I don’t rate a business one star unless it’s truly deserved However I would not recommend the Element hotel DetroitLets start with the positives,1

The Monarch club is nice and has a few food choices which makes service fast2 Most of the Staff are polite3 The breakfast is okay as well, when it’s not left over eggs from the previous day The fresh muffins are goodSerious negatives1VERY UNSAFE2 I had over $1,500 in parking fees charged to my account when I did not valet park or park period with the element hotel at all during my stay3Some of the housekeeping staff are very dishonest and steal from guest rooms and are very dishonest to guest4 The hotel is very out of control at times, people are so drunk and high off drugs that they are fighting, arguing and banging on stuff in the hall ways at 2am, makes you feel very unsafe I was afraid to go out into the hallway5Rooms are literally falling apart from domestic violence and people fighting in the roomsIf I had to choose a hotel to reside at in downtown Detroit I would choose Shinola hotel for my safety and peace of mind I have stayed there and never had any problems always very pleasant

Shina Alade

Really can’t say enough great things about this hotel! It’s well-priced, and accordingly sort of a no-frills experience, but it does all the important things right Gives you the feel of staying in a boutique hotel, without the boutique price tag It’s in a gorgeous historic building, perfectly located very central to Detroit’s entertainment district

Modern, updated rooms that feel clean and fresh, with very comfortable bedding Free wifi, free breakfast, and reasonably priced valet parking This is my go-to Detroit hotel!

Aaron

This might be the best business hotel I’ve ever stayed in! So much to highlight in a stay I thoroughly enjoyed: fabulous service from everyone; very comfortable, quiet, big, modern rooms with awesome beds and white noise machines; perfectly silent air conditioning; fantastic desks, ergo chairs(!) and WiFi for work; a full kitchen with stove and dishwasher that I could have had my meals in; decent hotel gym; access to the fantastic YMCA Detroit next door if you really want to stay fit; nice, healthy breakfasts and cooked omelettes in what is supposed to be a 3-star hotel(?); perfect location; great restaurants nearby; cool restoration of a beautiful old building Can’t wait to come back I hope all element hotels are like this

Cp’s Kitchen Pantry

A group I recently joined had their luncheon here and the food was pretty darn good! The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs They kept the water filled on the tables and they kept the food coming! We met the chef and complimented him (them) on the food We had fried chicken, Mashed Potatoes (yummy) mini crab cakes, fresh fruit, fresh salad, dinner rolls, mac&cheese, 🤔 can’t remember it was so much

Oh salmon topped with mini shrimp with a moray sauce 😋

I honestly would not stay here if I had too There was no security anywhere, too many men in the lobby, no one to greet you or ask if you needed assistance when you enter the property Maybe they had too many events going on that day, but in hospitality (which I have a master degree) customer service should be at 100% at all times

At the end of concluding my business at this establishment, the person who started working in the afternoon was very helpful in aasisting with my needs She gets 5 stars but everyone from that morning on 4/19/22 gets 2

This hotel is located in a great area next to a lot of amenities If you love swimming, I’m sorry there is no pool They do have rooms with jetted tubs

We had to switch our room because it had a strong musty onion scent We were checking in on my way to my birthday dinner, and our next room appeared to be clean but the next morning we realized the shower was not clean The living room area is nice, the furniture is a little dated, and the baseboards were coming up Other than that the room was nice I like the vanity, that leads down three steps to your bedroom The rooms have a nice view, but some of the front desk reps are unfriendly My valet parking was paid for, and I was still charged To receive a reversal you must speak with a mgr, and I wasn’t called back for 2 days The bedroom and King size bed are very nice it would be perfect if the room was fully cleaned and they updated the furniture

I will never be able to say enough good things about this place First, the service was amazing Everyone we interacted with was a prime example of how service should be

It made every experience here so worth it! Probably the nicest people I have ever met in a hotelInside the hotel was gorgeous Every where you look it was pleasing to the eye Now, every other hotel experience we have will have to live up to this oneIt was only a 15 minute walk to the Fox theatre and that made it even better Very pleased

Location was great, valet service was great The room was a deluxe suite, very nice and spacious with 2 doubles in it and a separate sitting room The bath was so big our toddlers were too afraid to get in it

We were even offered a shuttle to and from the passport agency which took away our stress completely Big big thank you to Andre who went above and beyond for our familyWe booked through a 3rd party that advertised free breakfast for 2 adults with the room However once there it was not free and management would not honour it even after showing proof it was part of our booking A consolation was $25 off our order So beware of offered perks through 3rd party websites Other than that a great stay at The Atheneum and would recommend

Clean, beautiful units, pleasant garden area and common area similar to an English Bed & Breakfast Safe & easy to access parking lot that’s secured Cafe next door for any quick bites or coffee/tea, and community gardens next to cafe

Kind staff Also there are random events like Jurassic Park movie night in Greenhouse with free snacks and drinks – very cute!

Benson May

Lovely experience overall Exactly as pictured, our room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with numerous cute welcome snacks/tea/coffee All-stone shower was a highlight

We stayed in the room with bunk beds and an in-suite bathroom, the space was perfect for two and felt spacious with the separate dining table under the bay windows! Each staff member we met was friendly and excited to share restaurant recommendations and advice about Detroit, and helped make our experience five-star!

Stayed at the El Moore Lodge for New Years Eve 2021 and this hotel is very nice The secure parking was definitely a plus as well as how to access everything upon arrival I stayed in the Moonbeam Cabin and it was exactly like the pictures online

For anyone who stays here in the future they do offer Netflix and Youtube TV The views are spectacular and I would definitely stay here againThe only downside I would say is not being able to access other streaming apps such as Hulu when doing so it asked for a pin, also no phone to be able to call downstairs if needed

I must admit I was concerned if to cancel my reservation reading the bad reviews some 2 months ago, just before my tripHowever, I found this hotel very good, fulfilling all my expectations of a one night stayFree parking, decent and clean property, even cleaner and better than some other HIEs I’ve been

Spacious room with good bedding Average American breakfastPool was fair size, very good for a morning swim All that for a reasonable price of around 100$ for our family of 3

I would never book this hotel again! Upon check in the room wasn’t properly cleaned I received a call from the General manager asking how can I make this right? After working my midnight shift I returned and extended my stay so that my children could swim Great right?! No! At 11:30a we requested clean towels to be told we can’t get any and it’ll be a long while to wait on fresh towels

I don’t understand how you charge 166-174 a night but there are no clean towels available I immediately chose to check out and take my childhood home where they can properly wash the chlorine from their bodies Never again!

Excellent stay Our flight was cancelled by Delta so they comped us this room There was a choice of about 5 hotels to stay from, and I’m so glad we chose this one

Close to the airport, clean, and friendly staff No bells and whistles, but just what you’re looking for in a comfortable nights stay It was a blessing to us after a stressful day of travel Free continental breakfast and shuttle to airport Would highly recommend

Miranda Lumley

We checked in and walked into our room after a long day of travelling and it reeked of weed and cigarettes We went back down to the lobby and asked for a different room and were told that we couldn’t be moved because there were no other rooms available, but that they could come and spray the room with air freshener Though I appreciated the “effort”, this was really gross

When a guest books a non-smoking room, that’s what they expect The carpets and counter tops in the rooms were also very dirty I stay near DTW frequently and I definitely will not stay here again

Elyse Stands

Great location and close to the airport The lobby and breakfast area of the hotel have obviously been updated and are nice but the rooms have NOT Huge water stain on the ceiling, dirty curtains, old and dirty A/C unit, bathroom shower might be clean but it’s hard to tell because the grout is either stained or dirty and same with the floor

On the plus side, the bed is comfortable!
