I had a wonderful stay! I was here for a week while I had family at Northwestern The staff was super nice My room was clean and spotless

I liked the fact it had a full kitchen The grab-and-go breakfast was better than no breakfast at all Many of the other hotels don’t offer any type of breakfast The gym is small, but it had top-quality equipment I was super happy with everything!

Angela Phillips

I transferred to the Sonesta ES from a neighbor hotel due to air-conditioning issues The room was just a bit smaller but the full kitchen and the wonderful shoer made up the difference The service was great

The valet was actually available so you vehicle wait time was bare minimum The room was very clean and very well stocked with towels and toiletries The sanitation of the room and electrical devices was satisfactorily done We had a great week long stay

Roderick Aey

Great value for the money I wouldn’t had to spend 3-4x more for something with a more upscale name The front desk staff was OK

a little rough around the edges but meant well The valet was 10/10 first class Asked what you were up to each day, helped me use the subway, etc My room was fine and clean Nothing was broken or not working Exactly what I wanted Definitely the slowest elevator I’ve ever ridden Overall will stay here again if the price is right

I visited this property for a conference and overall would give this an excellent stay review There is a lot of accessibility within the hotel and the surrounding area The biggest highlight is the front desk staff

They go above and beyond for guests I was originally in a room right next to the elevator (just a wall between my room and the shaft) so I struggled the first two nights not sleeping I went to ask for some ear plugs as with a conference it is very hard to move and adjust which I understand I had no expectations but the manager I happened to speak to immediately suggested a move and was apologetic I insisted moving was not necessary but he persisted and assured me it was no problem and my comfort was important I did a poor job with names being in shock of their kindness, but I believe his started with a N or maybe was Nelson? He worked with Cassandra I believe as well I do remember her name tag noted Port Au Prince, Haiti Those two are exceptional and have nothing but my gratitude Great hotel!

This hotel is poorly run and not well maintained We reserved, and paid for in advance, two rooms on the Hyatt website at the beginning of May At the end of May when we checked in, neither of the room types that we had booked were available because the hotel staff was “unaware that certain floors needed maintenance” when the online reservations were made

Instead we were given two rooms of different types, one of which was a significant downgrade in room type and quality from what had been booked online These rooms also had maintenance issues Two of the three corner moldings in my room were gone and just the glue remained (photo) Indeed, halfway through our four night stay, an unexpected plumbing problem elsewhere in the building required me to change rooms so they could shut off the water At least in the new room, all the corner moldings were still glued on In the rooms and hallways, scuff marks on the walls were distinctly noticeable (photo) Past the lobby, the hotel had a shabby feel and look to it It must have been quite nice – once The attitude of the hotel management to the downgrade in the type of the other room was indifference The couple in that room were offered no compensation either during their stay or afterward for receiving a lower quality room than we had paid for I can only recommend that you check out the many other fine hotels in downtown Chicago

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a resort This web site will compare thousands of booking web sites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the highest rated in this area

I have been coming here for a long time If you choose this place you won’t regret itA great hotel! Our receptionist made us feel very welcome; she was very nice and professional The room and bathroom were clean and well stocked An excellent location, round the corner from Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, etc Will stay again!

I enjoyed my stay here! It was clean, easy to check in and nice employees I enjoyed the fact that they are pet friendly and have a designated dog area The two bed room was large and included home amenities like large refrigerator, dish washer, dishes, sink, coffee machine, microwave

One thing I would say is the face towels were stained but that’s my only complaint

George Gabuzda

This could be a nice inexpensive hotel The staff are great but the hotel is in need of renovation It is 6+ years old and everything is the original stuff

Being close to campus, it has had some hard usage Rooms are decent and has all you need for an exended stay What we have experienced is that the business center computers do not work and the smell of chlorine in the lobby is very strong May or may not consider staying at this hotel again until it is fully renovated

Underdog Morphling

Extremely frustrating experience This felt like a one star hotel Here’s why:1

It was very hard to get them clean the room I had to do multiple follow ups to get the room cleaned Like I had to follow up every day and even after that there were days they missed cleaning2 My AC started leaking making the whole carpet wet It took them 2 days to fix it and also several follow ups Imagine walking on cold wet carpet in your hotel room3 I requested to change bedsheet one morning so that my aged handicap mom can rest But even after 3 follow ups they did not change the bed sheet Finally I asked them to give me the sheets and I changed it myself I was like you could have told me 3 hours before and I would have not bothered and changed it my self At least my mom would have slept 3 hours beforeIt literally felt like a one star hotel The facilities are good but service is pathetic

Was able to stay here for a few days and was impressed with how unique it is compared to other hotels This hotel definitely has its own personality Rooms were clean and comfortable

The property was well maintained and it looked like a section of rooms was also being renovated to keep it looking nice The pool area is large and the pool itself also has an outdoor section I had to use the laundry facilities during my stay and was pleased to see the washer and dryer were clean and working properly

Kimberly Boggess

Overall very nice stay The pool area was surprisingly large, and while busy, wasn’t too busy to swim The free breakfast was pretty good

The hotel itself is very large with lots of little places to relax Some of the decor and lighting make it feel a little dark and dated However, overall it was nice

Linda Oelberg Schulthes

I attended a wedding reception at Stony Creek in May of 2022 I was very much impressed with this facility for many reasons The staff is accommodating

I am older and use a walker I did not request a room that would accommodate my needs but was provided with a handicap accessible room very close to the main desk as well as the room being used for the reception They even gathered my bag from my car and carried it to my room The food for the reception was delicious and staff scurried to provide services I was also impressed with the sleeping quarters The room is spacious and it was so quiet that I felt as if I was the only guest I would definitely recommend this inn

Absolutely fantastic for the price point Good customer service, great room The only qualm was that the fan in the bathroom was a little loud, but that could have been specific to the room we stayed in

Definitely would stay again next time I’m in town, and would recommend to friends Fantastic location and great stay for a casual vacation

Ying Tang

The hotel is at a convenient location, lots of life around, close to bus stations and red line We felt safe to walk from the stations to the hotel at night The staff there are attentive, the only hotel indeed arranged me a quiet room per I requested

Breakfast is also fine with quality choices Room is clean, spacious and comfortable By the way, next to the parking lot, there is a construction going on, they do started pretty early, and a bit annoying

David Cline

I recently posted a negative yet realistic review here The shower plumbing was falling apart, the refrigerator didn’t work etc I repeatedly asked for room service and received none during my six day stay

Then online you apologized, but then said I wasn’t getting my deposit due to smoking in the roomThe only question I asked the lady at the front desk when I arrived is that if it was a non smoking room Due to I am allergic to smoke She said yesMaybe your feelings got hurt about my review and this is how you react I’ll just be happy knowing people have read this and chose elsewhereSo recapping, worst Best Western ever, worst customer service and you lie because you got a negative reviewIt’s not personal, it’s for other consumers

I spend about half the year in hotels and Lucy truly stood out by providing next level customer service Thank you!

Pretty nice place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, showers with water pressure, comfortable beds, I really have no complaints about this placeSome reviews have mentioned problems with sounds from the trainyard but they didn’t bother me at all in my room It was also really nice going walks on the sidewalk paths as opposed to the usual hotel experience of pure parking lot and nothing else

There is a lot of good about a stay at this particular Hampton Inn The employees are friendly The beds are comfortable

The rooms are clean and roomy The breakfast was actually more than we expected The location Is terrific in terms of walking to the theater, to restaurants and to local attractionsTwo things keep this from being a four star review The first is the fact that this Hampton is located directly across the street from the fire station We were awakened several times during the night due to the alarms going off and the fire equipment heading out The second has to do with the extra charge for early entry to the room If you get a notice that your room is ready, you should not be charged for early entry unless that is clearly stated in the text notice The charge was removed once we complained but it should never have been on our bill

Carmela Ver

We had a terrible experience here! We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights and every single day the toilet flooded Even after they sent someone to “fix” it, the toilet was still slow when flushing nothing The third time it overflowed, water poured into the hallway and under the bed

We called to the front desk to report it immediately and their response was, “Nobody can come in until after 7am You can come downstairs and get more towels if you need” It took 45 minutes for anyone to show up and help We had to call AGAIN to remind them we needed helpThe actual maintenance staff/engineers who helped us were very nice I felt bad for them because this was a recurrent issue At the same time our toilet was overflowing, they also had to deal with a ceiling leak several floors downThe cleanliness of the room itself was okay When we initially arrived there were a couple of short curly hairs on the bathroom sink, which fortunately we could rinse down the drain Still, that shouldn’t have even been an issue The room smell was awful, like chemicals covering up for a smoker It was insanely strong at first and only faded slightly over the course of 3 daysThe location itself is fine because there’s plenty within walking distance Just be prepared to sleep poorly You’ll hear sirens you’ll through the night since the fire station is nearby Probably the only good thing here is that the staff are very niceOverall, we were disappointed in our stay and hope people steer clear of this hotel We are warning our friends and family to stay away, and personally, we will NEVER book here again[Just rechecked our booking and realized I accidentally posted my initial review to the wrong location I confirmed with my husband the 33 W Illinois location is correct]

Alex Rittenhouse

I’d stay againRooms: Our room was on average 76 degrees, regardless of the setting which made sleeping quite difficult and uncomfortable The foot of our mattress was much higher than the head We needed to sleep backwards to accommodate the slant

The lack of lighting made it extremely difficult to see There isn’t an overhead light, relying all on wall mounted lighting or lamps – which were installed with a rustic-like light feel which was cute but useless as far as lights go We used the large window as our main light sourceService: VALET was super helpful and friendly Calling to valet line to notify pickup, however, never went through after 20 minutes Call the main desk line instead Front desk was super easy and helpful Always accommodating when in need Breakfast was always busy, but went smoothly and they all were very friendlyLocation: absolutely loved this location Close to shopping and eatery Rarely needed to call a ride to anywhere once we arrived We walked nearly everywhere which was a nice cost and time saver

It all honesty a 25 stars is needed The hotel’s location is great and the general size of the room was fine

I appreciate them taking care to remove the feathered pillows and covers The staff for breakfast were pleasant However, the cleanliness was a little less than in our room and the furniture/tub are definitely dated entities And the temperature control was horrible There is no reason it should still be uncomfortably hot and the thermostat was set on 60 It was so hard to sleep or to stay in the room

Dr. Lisa

The location of this hotel is great! Very clean and modern Customer service is fantastic Solid breakfast, but no alternative food options such as soy/almond milk or gluten-free bread

Elevators can be a bit slow They really need 4 of them for the size of this hotel We choice valet parking with the hotel There are other options You can do the same and walk everywhere you need to go unless you are venturing out to the suburbs Even then, you can ride the train Dinner is not served at this location You are in the heart of downtown Chicago; close to Michigan Avenue, it is not needed Enjoy!

Eric Steck

Our stay was most pleasant I refuse to stay in any other hotel besides a Hilton Hotel I was in an Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and ever since then, have been an avid proponent of Hilton brand hotels

The room was clean (had a bleach smell when I walked in, which I truly love), spacious bedroom and living room (I thought the bed was a California King), and I would be remiss to forget that it had a kitchen! This was totally unexpected to me, and so nice to have Even had a dishwasher…needless to say, this hotel room, in combination of the view, is one I will be *sure* to return to if the need arises The staff was awesome as well, in a world where a good staff is hard to find THANK YOU for our wonderful stay!

This hotel is very nice and clean The do have a pool A couple of things that were different about this particular hotel: we had a ceiling fan above our bed and there was no bath- instead we had a stand up shower with a sliding door

Our only issue was that our room didn’t have a remote for the TV I had to call down to the front desk two separate times and let the phone ring about 15 rigs before someone finally picked up

Dustin Jacobs

We’ve stayed in multiple hotels/suites in the area Homewood has been by far THE best We stayed in a King sized bed suite and it was big enough for a family with multiple small children

The staff was courteous and polite The kids enjoyed the indoor pool The location is great with its proximity to the mall and multiple restaurants I will be visiting again, the next time we travel

Keith Brownlow

Booked a suite anticipating a really nice fun time for my wife our kiddo and myself only to find out after I booked that the pool is by reservation only??? And for 1 hours slots? Yea cause that is going to work for a family with kids The staff seemed exceptionally friendly but this kind of policy or what ever is absolute trash Families with pool loving kids beware!!!

Arrived at 3am after a long day of travel with my son Had spent and hour being jerked around by the Hampton Inn until an angel by the name of Sybil W took my call and found us a room at the TownePlace Marriot

She was incredibly kind to my very sleepy son and gave him a rubber ducky toy She made our experience so pleasant and my son had a wonderful time during his first hotel stay Thank you Sybil so much for taking care of us

I stayed here for about 2 months for work Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, working Ethernet network connection, bed was real comfy, kitchenette was nice with a nearly full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cooktop, and garbage disposal Only complaint is the TV was pretty small (32″) but still deserves 5 stars from me

I was very comfortable here

Came into town for my sons PIR Check in process was very simple I even needed to make reservation changes during my stay because my son was getting weekend overnight liberty and we wanted to split time in the city

They waived fees and helped us with dinning options Our room was great, clean, and we loved having a full fridge, stove, and dishes to eat and hang out with family and our SR comfortably My son has A school here so we will be back to see him again and will certainly be staying here!!! Thanks for everything to the GM and Chad for all your help

Thomas Barntsen

Pros: Room was a suite with kitchenette for under $70, so it was a pretty good value It was reasonably clean, and the bed was comfortableThe breakfast was decent – all individually wrapped packaged food, like breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal

Cons: there were a couple broken alcohol bottles on the sidewalk between buildings My room also had very little soundproofing from outside noise, and the furnace was very loud, kicking on every fifteen minutes or so

Christine Canty

**update** After staying at this hotel for 22 nights (checking in and out over several weeks,) I will not earn any points or upgraded member perks, because I booked through United which was still cheaper than booking through the members website that has a discountFor work, I have stayed at several different hotels in the area I prefer this one, because this is an extended stay suite where you have a full refrigerator, 2 burner stove top, dishwasher, and kitchen with dishes

I have not had time to use the amenities Pets are accepted The rooms are not very sound proof The person on 2nd/3rd shift is super friendly and easy to talk with

I was going to leave 3 stars because I was so surprised at the night auditor our first night being so proactive and helpful when I expressed our concerns over the status of the room After speaking with the manager this morning at checkout, I can only leave 1 I worked at a Staybridge for many years and love the brand and the quality of service they always provide

Along with the quality of maintenance of their rooms and building I can’t say that about this location Walked into room and immediately noticed the large bulge in the ceiling of the living room 6-8 inches wide and about 2 feet long Continued through room and when I went into the bathroom, noticed evidence of extreme water damage and at the base of the door trim-mold because of said damage I took photos and planned on speaking with staff in the morning Late that night, while my family was sleeping, I was reading in the living room The guests upstairs were so incredibly loud and stomping-but it comes with the territory They stomped so hard that all of a sudden a piece of the ceiling (where the large bulge was) fell onto the couch and a large crack had opened up I went to the front desk and she was so helpful and said she would be taking 50% off our stay I was so thankful and was not expecting that at all They were 100% full so moving rooms was not an option When we checked out, I went to front desk to get our receipt and check out and thank them for being so accommodating, the manager printed off my receipt and I noticed only 50% was taken off for one night When I had asked her, she said she had no idea about this but thanks for staying I told her the ceiling literally fell on me She said “I had no idea, sorry Have a great day Here’s a card if you want to dispute this” We had a very long drive ahead of us with small children, so disputing this right then and there was not something I could take the time to do I plan on sending an email to manager and also their corporate as well This was unacceptable behavior from the management Things happen Out of our control and the night auditor was fantastic But the fact that I was treated with zero regard and said to have a good day from management is not ok I hope this gets resolved immediately

We had to wait 45 mins to check in because they tried to take money for our stay twice Every employee there was trying to run our card They ended taking money out twice anyway

Now have to wait days for our money to go back on our card They were not pleasant at all The lady that ran the breakfast area is very rude Our bathroom had black wavy hair all over the floor They had kids above our room that were running around most of our stay The hotel was OK They have a fire pit area that we did enjoy Heated pool I personally wouldn’t recommend this hotel The staff seem pretty incompetent

larry wright

It was a suite with a full kitchen Everything was very clean and put away It had two TVs

And although there may be an additional cost I believe it’s pet friendly And it wasn’t much more than a normal room The service was as expected but the staff was very friendly They had a decent complimentary breakfast The location served my needs but I have no idea what is in the area If I come back in the area I will definitely be staying here again

We had an exceptional experience at the Guesthouse, I think we’ve found the hotel we will return to when staying in Chicago The rooms are large, well appointed, and very homey We were very comfortable during our stay

Footsteps do travel through the floors, so if you are light sleeper, be warned, you may want to get a top floorThe neighborhood is very safe and only a short drive from downtown If you want to be in the heart of Chicago this hotel is obviously not for you, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and spacious hotel that is just outside of downtown, then this is a great option Actually, the rooms here are enormous compared to most hotels in the downtown area, making this a great option for family groups

The Guesthouse was an exceptional stay for my family We were in town for my brother’s wedding and I have an 8 month old infant The Guesthouse was incredibly accommodating

They had so much of the baby stuff that we needed so we didn’t have to bring it, and the room was perfect for a small family to use as a home base during a busy wedding weekend I’d absolutely stay here again

Other than the friendly staff there are no positive aspects to note The hotel (room #302) was dirty with grime on tables, bathrooms, and floors The linens are cheap and heavily scented with a sticky feel from way too much fabric softener

The beds and couch were lumpy, cheap, squeaky and uncomfortable The locks on the bathroom doors were broken The carpets were visibly soiled The TV was ridiculously small and unusable The furniture is heavily distressed with scratches, worn fabric, etc High noise level in the area and not cheap Will never stay here again

Employees were nice but definitely stressed possibly working too much Towels weren’t replaced on our weekend stay The breakfast buffet was decent for a hotel breakfast

Just the standard stuff but still good Hotel could use a cleaning and hasn’t been updated in a awhile One of the better options in area with an indoor pool bit could definitely use some work

The sign on the door when you enter says “Pardon our dust, we are remodeling” Not for 1 second would I say they are remodeling, it’s run down and seems like they don’t care about the customer Stayed for 2 nights in a king suite room, was in town for a baseball tournament and the place was sold out

They have known they were full for quite a few weeks and you’d think they would be ready for that The curtains on the windows were falling down, couldn’t close them which caused the lights from the front of the building to shine right on the bed The towels were stained The toilet was filthy with stains on it when we arrived Never saw housekeeping, had to go to the front desk for everything! Toilet paper, Kleenex, towels etc Upon check in I was told that the cable was down and that it should be fixed “tomorrow” Tomorrow I went to ask about the cable and was told “no”, it’s not going to be fixed today and I asked how long it’s been down and was told for over a week! Who has the cable down for a entire hotel? Someone that doesn’t pay the bills I suspect Stay elsewhere, somewhere that values the customer!

I would rate this a 25 if I could If you need a place to stay over it is a bed to lay your head on

It is convenient as it is right off the highway But I would equate the overall quality is lacking gnats in bathroom, bathroom sink drains slowly, no stopper in sink, toilet doesn’t flush completely, cracked floor tiles in bathroom, elevator flooring needs work, walls could use lots of touch up painting/spackling and for the first day the elevator floor was sticky, cigarette butts were laying along parts of drivewayI could go on but will leave it at that

I love being able to bring my dog We had a great room Check in process was easy

Parking is off site but you get a voucher to park Make sure you unload first then park Had trouble finding a luggage carrier at first but staff brought us one when we were leaving Great views of the city Overall a good experience They do have room service as well plus a continental breakfast Nice little kitchen area with refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, and microwave

Firmly between a three and a five star ratingCons:Sound travels effortlessly between suite doors- I am currently listening to the occupants in the next room rustle through plastic bags and talk My neighbors also have a penchant for scrolling through PS5 menus, and I know this because I hear them do it often through the door

The bed and pillows aren’t comfortableThe bathroom fan didn’t work and the bathroom door didn’t close all the way or latch closedFYI:The thermostat takes a second to understand and learn how to switch modesThere is a Master power switch that turns off all the lights in the room AND the outlets attached to the lights Don’t turn this off if you want to charge your phones with these plugsPros:Friendly staffSolid breakfastClean roomsMicrowave and good sized fridge includedFantastic location for walking and CTA stopsIf it weren’t for the traveling sound and the comfort of the beds this would be a five star stay As it is, for the price, I would stay here again

The Pictures on website is totally Different than the truth☹️The city view is nothing like what they postThe room wasn’t clean at all and even after I reported and asked to change the room the front desk were so mean I have been travelling a lot lately and I always chose home2 Suites by HiltonAnd we always have great experiencesBut truly this one disappointed us

Stuff most of them rudeWe been last year to Chicago in another hotelWe were very happy with the other hotel experienceI regret staying on home2suites by Hilton Chicago and I don’t advise anyone with it if you want to spend nice vacation in a nice hotel and nice service

My husband stayed here three weeks as we transitioned to our move to Springfield and it was an excellent experience The coordinator I worked with was extremely friendly and helpful in organizing everything My husband had a comfortable and easy stay during his three weeks

I came in with our dog for three days as we waited for our rental to open, and we had such an easy time with bringing our dog The staff was so nice and there was a dedicated pet area for us to walk him The breakfast options each day were fresh and varied, the suite room was spacious and comfortable, and my husband was able to get laundry service during his three weeks We had some stress trying to find housing and making the transition to Springfield, but the Residence Inn made it much easier It was a wonderful spot for my husband to camp out for a few weeks while we waited for our rental and the three of us enjoyed our stay very much Thank you so much for helping our move be less stressful

The Baldwin Family

We rented 5 rooms The hotel was full this weekend with baseball teams, extended stays from the state Both groups were handled SO well even being a headache for the staff I sleep like a baby- and until we had a run in with the extended stay group did not even realize there was an issue

The staff at this location is one of the best Y’all are top notch You go above and beyond I have no complaintsI am sorry 😞 those families were nasty- my stay was perfect I would gladly stay here again

Nina Fanshier

The room was nice and spacious, just what we needed after family gatherings in a small space The room was cleaned very well, bags missing from the cans, ceiling had water damage that seemed fresh and the flooring in the bedroom was coming up that I tripped over a few times The lobby floor going to the gym was wet and no wet floor sign was present

Those few things caught my eye but not at all ruined the stay The beds and bedding are very nice

Very clean, good check in But every time I’ve stayed here I’ve been woken up early on checkout day by the cleaning staff Check out isn’t till 11, but I get pounding knocks starting as early as 8 am, and this most recent trip twice in the space of 10 min

I travel for work and work late, this policy is not ok They ignore do not disturb signs, if the signs are provided at all

I am very disappointed in this hotel, they claim that it recently got renovated, what exactly got renovated, not the rooms And if it would have gotten renovated I’m quite sure they would have built more elevators, possibly put in a pool area or something And this the only hotel I know that doesn’t serve breakfast

Overall the room, was somewhat clean Not enough lighting in the room and on top of that the lamp in the room, didn’t work Friendly staff and they do try their best to help when needed
