stayed here for a mini trip in pittsburgh and it was so great! this was roughly the same price as hotels nearby but it’s so much more worth it because you get an entire apartment there was a kitchen with dishes, silverware, dish soap, etc it was very clean, in a great location, and the staff at the front desk were so nice and made my stay so easy

loved that there was a rite aid right next to it parking in the garage attached was $30 a night which wasn’t too bad giving air bnb vibes but it’s a hotel

Dianna Loevner

Etage was truly a wonderful lodging experience in Downtown Pittsburgh Communication by staff when calling prior to my stay was lovely Check-in was a breeze

On-site staff was kind and accommodating The lodging itself exceeded expectation by being large with a full kitchen set-up and fun colored lighting by the bed The views were fab, and featured a view of the valley and PPG PlaceWill definitely stay here on future travel to Pittsburgh! xo

The view associated with these apartments were EXCELLENT! Management and staff were respectful and courteous Mr Shakur went above and beyond the call of duty,we truly appreciated him helping us with the questions we had

Also,I like the fact that they have a flat rate for parking and how the location is within walking distance to all the food spots and tequila bars😁

I booked Travelers Rest the night before catching the Amtrak to DC to ride the C&O/GAP It’s a really cool property, catering to cyclists Beautifully restored, and great hosts

The rooms were simple and clean, the shared common space was spacious and welcoming The garage was secure and provided easy bike storage Next time I would stay longer I would definitely recommend for anyone cycling in the area

Perfect stop for any traveler! I showed up late after driving all day, only to enter the beautiful oasis that is Traveler’s Rest Using contactless check-in, I let myself into my room (the super affordable bunker room!) where I slept comfortably the whole night I woke in the morning to fresh coffee and pastries and good conversation, before continuing my journey

Anyone needing a place to crash for a night will find a haven at Traveler’s Rest, but the beautiful building and great company will make you want to stay longer!!

This is a great hotel that just went under a complete makeover 100% top to bottomThe rooms are first class very clean with all new furniture, large soft towels and most importantly very quiet / safeJosh at the front desk goes above and beyond to make sure guest are taken care of

Jean S was a pleasure to work with as wellI travel 150+ days a year so I recognize top quality when I see itThis hotel has it 👍👍

Where do I start?

After their remodel, they’re now insanely expensive They’ve gone “TRENDY” Whats that mean, you ask? It means; no garbage cans in bathroom, or any real cans anywhere SUICIDALLY dark lighting in the rooms, but don’t worry, you’ll probably concuss yourself on the bathroom door because it blocks the hallway before you can slit yourself you have to close it to get out NO TABLES OF ANY KIND IN THE BATHROOM I had to put up the ironing board to set my stuff on God help you if you’re a female No towel racks because trendy things are trendyOH and if you can figure out how to set their trendy ac unit so it doesn’t blow hot air in the summer, you belong in MENSA Bathtub dirty, fridge iced over etc etcBOTTOM LINE; I’ve stayed there 4 or 5 times This is the last

Tarra Smith

The worse experience I have ever had! The management including staff and manager Carmen were not accommodating or willing to assist a large family with several young kids We booked online and when we showed up the hotel was under renovations with “pool” Online it states pool indoors

The manager didn’t even want to speak with me at first kept trying to speak over phone with staffing relay information Then they just kept showing us a websitethat is very difficult to navigate and yes at the very bottom after you reserve it satates “no pool” Staff was rude Staff was unsincerce I would never recommend this hotel!!!! 0/5 stars! Or better yet -5/5

I was in town for my mothers funeral/celebration of life ceremony, and the rooms were not very clean and had stains on the walls and furniture The curtains were also very stained and it made me not want to touch them There was a desk and office chair in my room that was ripped and torn and filled with large, very visible food crumbs

It was disgusting It looks like they spent a lot of money renovating the lobby and common areas, but the rooms themselves are a bit outdated Most of the wait staff were pleasant, but I was met with a rude receptionist more than once At one point I had asked the front desk for a towel for the pool area as their weren’t any left and was told no because “they didn’t have enough because people kept stealing them” The next time I travel to the area I will pay a little more to stay in a nicer hotel 15 minutes down the road

Tylena Knop

The building was a little outdated but the front desk staff was very kind! The room was OK, bed was comfy, couch was kinda gross but the bathroom had just been remodeled and was Very Nice!! Hotel was quiet at bedtime 😴 Breakfast was good! Hot & a good selection Not many options in the coffee dept tho

😬 For $110 we would stay again if in the area

Very nice hotel! The staff is extremely friendly – one of the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever met The rooms were very clean and nice Additionally, there was complimentary bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner

The rooms also felt very safe Each room had a lock safe to put valuables Additionally, the door had its primary lock, a dead bolt, and another lock as well Overall, great staff, lovely rooms, and very safe

Kylie Tokar

Lovely hotel with good views, simple but adequate accommodations, and a super accessible location It’s worth booking the parking package because the valet employees are super nice/prompt & parking is otherwise pretty tough My only major qualm was that we didn’t receive housekeeping due to the hotel’s COVID protocols, but none of the staff wore masks (a bit contradictory)

Spencer Kellis

I had an overall great experience here; the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was pretty good, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful It is very convenient to UPMC, the hospital and other associated buildings – an “easy” walk, so long as you don’t mind some rather steep uphill sections One thing to be aware of: the parking situation isn’t great

They have limited parking in a very cramped and somewhat beleaguered looking garage, and if you arrive late there’s a good chance it will be full In that case, there’s street parking, but it’s metered starting at 8am, or they will direct you to a parking garage about 2-3 blocks away (where we eventually parked) where you can park and walk back Not the greatest experience in the world to arrive late and tired, ready to sleep and then have to spend another half-hour or more figuring out parking But, this is in part the price paid for such a convenient location!

Sunil Jain

The hotel was good with spacious clean rooms and a convenient locationBUT, management is cheap and stingyCalled front for body lotion – got the response that they have ran out of themBreakfast:Broken toaster – Cannot even replace with a new oneDissappearing breakfast items – blamed on shortageRoom CleaningService staff stormed to clean the room while we were still there

Something seriously wrong with management

Charis Armah

The hotel in itself is a beautiful property although the management staff leave much to be desired with their uncouth and downright rude behavior! It might be because I am person of color, I am quite unsure but the GENERAL MANAGER, Kimberley Jones, of the property saw it fit to hang up the phone on me and my father and tell us to meet her downstairs due to the simple fact that the TV provided in the room was NOT working! That in itself was mystifying and unprofessional coming from the woman who runs the hotel but the shock did not end there Upon coming downstairs, she then saw it fit to not even be present for the conversation she had moved abruptly in-person and rather send out her subordinates to defend her uncouth behavior! In all of our stays at hotels, we have never experienced such a a rude employee, let alone a manager! As my father is a Gold Elite Members of Marriott, we were shocked to receive such treatment at a Marriott hotelIf you want your stay to be sprinkled in with unnecessary rude and aggressive behavior, I definitely suggest staying at this hotel!

Rooms are nice, lobby is nice location is convenient Parking lot kept free of snow Breakfast could use some improvements

Very little selection Front desk staff was 50/50 The woman There my first two nights was fantastic Friendly and engaging, recommended good places to eat and steered me away from others Always with good information backing her selection The little “butterfly” the third night was not so good Had a bit of a foul mouth and seemed to be a political correctness/social justice hire Thankfully, he was not my first impression

Let start off by saying that this Hotel is probably the nicest I’ve stayed in on my travels with my job The people always are positive, super helpful, amazing personalities My roommate and I didn’t have a working fridge…

most people would be like okay deal with it…not this staff!!! They went out of their way and brought us a fridge…hooked it up…double checked it and asked us if we needed anything else I say all that to say this…I’m not sure if he’s the maintenance guy or if he’s just someone who helps out but I gotta give a huge shout to Gary ( don’t shoot me if I misspelled it) Gary always had a positive word to say every morning Always had a smile to bring to the early start of the day Amazing conversation when ever we had I was stranded there by my old company…after almost two hours of trying to figure out how I was going to make my bus on time to go home…Gary the God sent helped me out If there is anyone we can take life lessons from…it’s this amazing hotel staff…with great service comes amazing people…Thank you so much Fairfield Inn and suites I most definitely will be returning to this brand and possibly this location!

I will rarely write a bad review, but this hotel deserves recognition I typically stay in hotels 50-60 nights a year and I can’t remember a more dissatisfying experience I normally stay at the Holiday Inn which is right in front of this hotel, but decided to try something different this trip

Both hotels share a similar price and ratings but what a difference in service I expect much more from a Marriot property I will start with the good My room was relatively clean, that’s where the good endsFirst disappointment: Coffee, it was so weak and tasteless that you could see clearly through it It was like they used half the amount of coffee grounds as you were supposed toSecond: Breakfast, very limited choices Everything was the cheapest you could buy They did not even have butter for the Bagels or wafflesThird: Business Center, no privacy, old slow computer The printer only worked sporadicallyFourth: The property felt rundown When the microwave didn’t work I was told you have to slam the door because it was old and needed to be replaced The refrigerator was tiny and did not have a freezer compartment, again CHEAP The TV was old and small and the remote was difficult to operate Poor insulation, could clearly hear the occupants in the room above me The AC/Heating unit was unreliable, I had to put it at 82 degrees just to keep it warm enough to stay in It was probably off by 10-15 degreesFifth and WORST: Housekeeping Monday afternoon when I got back to my room nothing was touched! When I went to the front desk to inquire I was told it was on request because of COVID I am tired of businesses using COVID as an excuse for poor service, and there was nothing to indicate that this was the case, it was not in the listing, I was not told this on check-in, and there was no signage to indicate this I requested my room be serviced The next day they replaced the towels but did not even bother to make the bed, or replace anything The next day nothing, I once again requested service and when I got back to my room the next afternoon the bed was made, towels were replaced but the overflowing garbage’s were not emptied and nothing else was replacedI am sure I missed something, but you get the pointOut of the 5 nights I stayed there not 1 day went by where things went as they were supposed to I understand that mistakes are made and not any 1 of these issues would make me want to leave a review such as this but when you add them up it’s a lot of disappointment and aggravation which as a business traveler I do not needMy advice is this: Do yourself a favor and do NOT stay at this hotel!

Rude Front Desk Supervisor (Ellen)The hotel charge me an extra $300 for 1 night because they claimed I checked in a day before I really didWhen I called the hotel about this I was called a liar by the front desk supervisor (Ellen) and she told me “I was on camera signing papers and checking in on Friday” I checked in on Saturday and checked out on SundayEllen was very rude and was chuckling when telling me I was lying and I stayed for 2 nights not 1 like I actually did

When I asked for her employee number she then hung up on meI called the hotel back 5 times and was sent to voice-mail every timeI have never been disrespected and treated so poorly by a “professional” establishment, this experience made me feel like the gum stuck on the bottom of someone’s shoe This experience still feels really bad and Ellen hurt my feelingsI didn’t deserved to be treated like that and no one deserves to be treated like thatMy Girlfriend and the organization I was at this hotel with are just as upset about my experian as I am

I am overdue writing this, but Ron and I love staying at the Parador Inn Ed and his pups make you feel instantly at home I brought a birthday cake for a surprise the day before to the Inn and Ed had it set up in the room when we returned from an evening out

It is that kind of attention that keeps us returningnow let’s talk about Ed’s AMAZING breakfast!!!

Beth Layton

This was our first stay at a bed & breakfast and I have to say Ed sat the bar high! The Inn is beautiful and breakfast was perfect! We drove in from Johnstown for a Thursday night Pitt game at Heinz Field and the location is great Even with a recent knee replacement I was able to walk the short distance to and from the field Ed and his pups make great hosts! Most HI Express I have stayed at was very nice and this hotel is no exception

However my trip before this one I cut my finger on the top of the microwave It seems it has had a tabletop screwed to it at one point ,and there was a sharp point at the top It was minor to me so I had not bothered to mention it On this trip ,to same H I the heat did not work very well and room was a little cold first night The toilet leaked from the bottom and the tray that holds the complementary soap and shampoo had two chips out of it Curtains wouldn’t close properly, and the suite was a little in disrepair Shower walls had been cracked and halfway repaired The microwave tray was missing but worked okay Breakfast and cleanliness was excellent as always All the staff were very friendly and pleasant to meet

Velina Robinson Glass

At this price point the rooms are exceptional I used priceline and got a weekday room rate of $89 The inn is pretty close to everywhere I wanted to be but if you want to go into town it’s a little out of the way

My son purchased a soda and sour patch kids and on each of the 3 times he purchased them the price was different $4, $5 & $6

Samhitha Kallem

Very disappointing staying here … I have stayed at Holiday Inn at different places … but this is worst The curtains were shredded The airconditioner didn’t keep the room cool atall

The tub drained and filled extremelyslowly DisappointingThey better improve the service their for their hotel to run good

I think the most appealing feature of this hotel, as if it isn’t good enough to have a pool and clean room, is the shuttle service they offer for guests Both nights we stayed they drove us from the hotel to a bar within 3 miles to Carson Street And Kim, the driver is absolutely amazing

So awesome If only they offered it every day of the week

Raj Kal

Hotel is right next to the train tracks and trains are plying all night and blast the horn when around the hotel I am not a light sleeper and yet could hear 5 trains pass by Beds are uncomfortable as they sag in the center

Sofa had gummies on them so it wasn’t cleaned They charge $22 for parking which is not advertised anywhereBreakfast was good

Cody Layman

The room we had was decent Our party of 3 fit nicely but there were no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch so we had to walk down to the front desk to retrieve them The yellow stains on the bed were hard to ignore but my wife slept on that side of the bed anyway

Upon exiting the 4th floor elivator where our room was located we were greeted by the rancid smell of a puke/sewage like substance that lingered the halls for our entire stay The indoor pool was located in the lower level and was as cold as an Alaskan ice rink but my 9 year old didn’t seem to mind The room was clean and quiet except for being located right beside a graffiti covered train track that seemed to have a train rolling down the line about once every 2 hours so it made sleeping a little difficult As for the continental breakfast it was your typical runt of the mill hard eggs and runny oatmeal that 90% of hotels offer Overall it wasn’t a bad experience but I think there are better options in the general area Also parking on site is $22 per day

The ice machines weren’t working so you had to have the front desk get you some from the Cafe The breakfast is made to order and is NOT included with your room cost Coffee and fruit are offered free however

The hot tub was out of order and the pool was too cold for my liking so we didn’t utilize that amenity Also the guest laundry feature was out of order Check out was noon and I was able to have a late checkout til 1pm without extra charge Beautiful back yard with large gas fireplace over looking the river made up for all the other things out of order though Very nice Service from staff was excellent

This hotel was excellent, and that’s from me, who is old and cranky The young man at the desk the late afternoon of April 7th was friendly and very helpful The room was spotless

The free breakfast was real breakfast, not a box with some muffins in it We travel with a small dog, and the hotel put $200 on my card for amenities, so I think that if the dog damaged something (it didn’t), they would take it from that That’s fair – I would expect to pay for any damages What I appreciate is that if there are no damages, we don’t pay anything This is opposed to a recent stay at another hotel, which charged a $5000 pet fee regardless of any damagesThe South Side location was very good – quiet in the evening, and convenient to where we needed to be (Carnegie Mellon University)Parking was excellent – in a garage beneath the buildingFinally, I was happy with the cost Room rate, taxes, fees, and one night of parking for under $20000Going forward, we won’t stay anywhere else

This was by far the best hotel stay we have ever had! There are only 2 negative things I have about this place and that’s the parking garage situation and how they definitely shouldn’t be charging $20 a night for what that was and the fridge stunk horribly

other than that so much was within 5 min walking or 10-20 min driving distance Loved there was a marina and bike trail entrance close by There’s construction going on next door and we barely heard anything We didn’t hear anything from the other guests in the hotel The rooms were decent sized for a family of 4 The shower was huge and the pressure was superb 👌 👏🏽 finally!! They tried the best they could with breakfast Pretty similar options to most major hotels and the pool was fine But my favorite part was the view over looking the river When I’m back in Pittsburgh this is the only place I want to stay Sorry I don’t have pictures inside the room I thought I had a video but I can’t find it

This is the worst Hyatt property we have ever stayed at and is now on our avoid listParking: Parking garage requires double parking This means that you must hand over your keys to the front desk in case they need to move your car

We found our rental car moved and smelling of smoke – it appears that someone had smoked in our rentalBreakfast: We went to breakfast at 9 (they close at 9:30) and found that they were out of nearly everything No coffee, eggs, or pastries No silverware and trash cans were overflowingRoom: Dirty and has has tape on the ceiling Had a cracked toilet seat (which required maintenance to come by)This property also hosts events Be prepared for loud music until 10:30 at night (followed by an hour of them breaking down tables and cleaning up) Not where I would recommend going for a restful stay – though the wedding party seemed to have fun
