We loved Hawaii! We did not love Paia Inn so muchPossibly we chose a very busy time to visit, but Paia Inn felt extremely over-priced and poorly maintained We paid $650/night for two nights, for a very small room

The lock didn’t work without lots of jiggling, there was black mold around the shower-head, which also repeatedly fell out onto my headThe service was very pleasant and efficient The area by the sea was idyllic

Alex McClure

This boutique hotel has fantastic customer service We accidentally booked our room for the wrong date and when we showed up, they were already fully booked for the night Savannah at the front desk called in the owner and they worked hard to pull some strings and find a room for us to stay in that night

It felt like they really went out of their way to help us and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone 🙂

I’m incredibly surprised at these positive reviews Paia Inn was so very disappointing We aren’t particularly fussy travelers and we are very familiar with Hawaii, having gone multiple times, and this place was over $600 a night

We booked far in advance What we got for that money was an extremely disaffected staff of young women in their early 20s who didn’t even give us a cursory tour of the property when we checked in, which is MUCH NEEDED because the place is a labyrinth and the entry and exits and multiple keys are super confusing The room was TINY and didn’t even include even basic comforts–we couldn’t adjust the temperature, the windows didn’t have curtains, no coffee machine (just a knockoff Nespresso in the common area) Bed is nothing special and not particularly niceYou do get a mini-fridge and can use beach chairs The beach access (once you find it) is very prettyAll the staff does is take selfies in mirrors and curate their spotify playlistsI couldn’t believe what you get for $600 a night!!We checked in to another WONDERFUL BnB later that week on Maui (Moana Lani) which was HALF the price per night, included a fully cooked hot breakfast and much better round-the-clock coffee, snacks and fresh fruit, private AC, and all the extras like bicycles, boogie boards, chairs, etcDon’t stay at Paia Inn It’s simply not worth the price

We shared a 2 bedroom condo with our daughter and son in law We were on the ground floor Loved it!!! Best location! So many places we could walk to

The turtles came to the lava rock shore, in front of the condo, each evening to eat Amazing! The condo was clean and just lovely!! The only reason I gave the condo 4 stars, is that the parking lot is pretty small and tight

Sarah Wiley

This is THE place to stay on Maui! The location is paramount to navigating the island for various activities/adventures, and for seeing both sunrise & sunset from the lanai! We walked to the beach (Kamaole 2), and snorkeled right out front with turtles and various sea life It was beautiful There’s an outdoor shower for both body & feet, so we were sure to rinse before entering the condo (unit 501)

It’s definitely warm inside without AC, so we were strategic with air flow, and used the portable fans to keep cool It had all the amenities we needed, and we can’t wait to come back and stay again! Across the street- within walking distance- are various stores, restaurants, and gear rentals The property managers were extremely responsive and accommodating when we needed anything It was wonderful to meet them and the owners during our stay

This was a pretty good place to stay for our Maui vacation The room that we had wasn’t too special Much like a normal hotel room

We just had a sink, mini fridge, and microwave, but I know the suites had a full kitchen It was affordable and the grounds were really nice It’s also just across from the beach so we did plenty of walking there Really nice we didn’t have to drive to it all the time The pools are also nice, but nothing too special

Cocacola Bear12 (Gabriel agnew)

Outstanding location, everything is nearby and the beach is directly across the street Lots of food nearby, shops, desert’s, board and scuba rentals, everything you’d want The building is really nice, the open air is extremely cool

The hot tub and the pool are nice (especially at night) and you can meet a lot of cool people The hotel has absolute beautiful views and it was a really clean room All the normal things of a hotel room are there, just wish they had more beds of some sort AC works nice, there’s a TV and a PlayStation with it nice employees, a place to grill and barbecue, kitchen, and while this isn’t the fanciest hotel, this is Hawaii and you shouldn’t be here all the time It has everything you need and is pretty nice a 10/10 in my book, I could literally live in there

Cindy Best

Beautiful condo, well decorated and pretty well stocked We had to buy laundry soap for the washer, batteries for the air conditioner and no garbage bags were supplied either But there were so many other anemities that made up for all that

Our second time in Kihei, first at Maui banyan much better 😀 👍 Would stay here again definitely

We absolutely adored your resort! It had everything we needed, no touch left unnoticed! There were hangers (a ton) for our clothes, a washer/dryer, plenty of towels, full kitchen with every utensil you could need, and they are located within a short walk of the TOP 3 BEACHES to snorkel and relax at! We greatly appreciated the hospitality the employees showed to us in getting our room situation fixed (since our original booking was canceled via a third party without our knowledge) Would recommend your facility 10 out of 10 times!

Michelle White

Please AVOID this hotel AT ALL COSTS! We found cockroaches in the kitchen, spiders in the sleeping area, and a dead gecko in the closet Additionally, many surfaces such as the windows, side tables, and tv were covered in thick dust that seem to signify the place had not been dusted/cleaned in agesWhen we called the main office during business hours when we were away from the hotel but needed to ask the office a question, no one picked up the phone- we tried to call the office 3 times during business hours

Lastly, they charged us an additional “resort fee” after we checked out that we had not been previously informed of (we left the hotel cleaner than they gave it to us) NOT CLEAN and terrible management

We definitely will use this spot again Our condo was clean on a high floor with beautiful views The grounds are lush and well maintained with friendly staff around

The villas are close to the The Shops at Wailea where you can find places to grab a meal The concierges Scott and David were helpful in making excursion and Dinner reservations at the Grand Wailea Only thing missing is a full length mirror in the condo and I wished the adult pool was a bit deeper

Nena Cook

Beautiful place but got a lecture about my military discount I was told l needed Order Papers as no discount for Retirees nor their families No base in Maui to my knowledge

Saving grace l called night b4 to verify my military ID was enough as military discount said papers, military idAfter showing Kai l stayed @ 2 additional Marriott locations, via my app, she scolded this 61yr old and said the guidelines for Maui had changed🤔Sacrifice of family & life does not mean equal discount @ this upscale hotel🇺🇲

Lauren Bayly Holmblad

This was such a beautiful family vacation experience for us We had 8 adults in a high unit, which was more than wonderful It’s a 5 minute walk to the pool and beach

There is beach chair service as well The pool isn’t quite as picturesque as one would like (ie the Marriott Wailea view) but it’s very accessible Hang by the pool, run to Whale’s tale for snacks Very expensive, but the luxury was there

We stayed at the Iao Valley Inn for our first time in Maui It was perfect! The owners were very nice, and respectful of our space and privacy The room was clean and quiet

The Inn is very secluded, and secure The views are very nice All you hear is the stream, and birds singing The continental breakfast is perfect I would highly recommend the Iao Inn to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing, and great Maui vacation experience We absolutely loved it Someday hope to return

Samantha Clark

A slice of heaven We waited a long time to visit the Iao Valley Inn but it was well worth the wait! This gorgeous B&B is in the most peaceful and beautiful of settings, the rooms are beautifully designed and well cared for, plenty of privacy with a comfortable and sumptuous bedding to boot The location is terrific too and easy to get around and see all of the wonders of Maui by car

Tamara (and Kahu) especially was so accommodating and welcoming and we’re so grateful for her patience and understanding in the delays coming over I whole heartedly recommend

Brian Allan

While technically in Wailuku, you’d never know it; and this central location was ideal for sightseeing around the island The grounds were beautiful The sounds of the jungle (especially of the nearby stream) were a wonderful way to wake up in the morning as well as to de-stress throughout the day

Tamara and Bob were very wonderful and attentive hosts Kahu (their German Shepherd) was a loving protector of the guests The comfy bed and clawfoot bathtub were lovely accents of the Orchid room (the multiple mini- refrigerators were also quite helpful); and having the lanai for dining and taking-in the ambience was a major plus

My friend and I had an incredible stay at this hostel – highly recommend for people hoping for fun experiences with great people in comfort and security The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay by offering daily activities, airport shuttles, answering all questions and being so accommodating with bookings The hostel made everyday special, up until the very end where the driver stopped by a quaint beach near the airport for a final send off…all on his own time

The free tours are so much fun and allow you to experience the island authentically and on a budget My friend and I, both women in our 30s, felt safe and comfortable during our stay Truly great environment for all ages Hope you get to experience this gem soon!Amy

I came for a cheap place to stay for 1 night, stayed 1 week for the experiences and the people!Great for: Meeting interesting people from around the world, Partying, Chilling, AdventuringA different adventure for every day of the week: cliff jumping, turtle snorkeling, jungle hiking, the road to Hana, etcParties most nights, typically move off-site after quiet hours hitI stayed behind a couple days and found the place to be quite peaceful midday The geckos would come out, the staff would clean up from the previous night, and the cycle would repeat

Speaking of the staff, I found them all to be friendly chill people They’re not bland corporate hotel servants, so if that’s what you want, just try a hotel They’re more like a friend of a friend hosting a long weekend that you’re invited toI’m already planning to go back!

Noah Rudlin

The staff here really are awesome, and they do everything to try and make your experience worth while and it shows If you’re wanting a solo trip or to come to a place with some friends and to make more lifelong friends then this is the place to go especially if you’ve ever lived in a dorm type situation Guided tours happen everyday and they take you to amazing places, always tip your tour guide! Everything is shared unless you get a private room so if you’re not a younger person this may not be for you, however regardless you will have an amazing experience, one that will be with me for my whole life

Free beer on Friday and jungle juice provided on Monday so also be prepared to party

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your stay They compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is the best rated in the area

I have been staying here for a long time If you stay for a few nights you for sure will love it I’m sure!Perfect stay if you aren’t looking for the full resort experience however, this place has a great property, fun pool and easy access to the beach It was a perfect place for our family of 4 to extend our Maui trip and manage cost Hula dancing on Wednesday with live music at the pool was a highlight!

ZESTY ZESTY

This facility overall is adequate at best The grounds are pleasant but not overly luxurious, the pool is small as is the gym There are no vending machines or stores within an easy walk

Our two bedroom unit was $650 a night and although they charge a $580 cleaning fee it wasn’t as clean as it could be, little bit of mold in the shower, some windows a little streaked Kitchen cabinets and Furniture a bit worn and out-of-date But it was an easy walk to the nice beaches across the street, fabulous sunsets and everything else that Kihei has to offer There are dozens of condo complexes in Kihei and next time I think I’ll shop around a little further

Trushar Rao

Great resort, staff, location, and service Be aware of the hidden charges that come with this condo I had to pay an extra $35 per night as a “cleaning fee”, which was not stated when I booked my stay with Expedia

The owner of the condo was nice enough to communicate before and after my stay I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the hidden charges

We loved this little hotel Quiet area with pool, beachfront, and excellent restaurants within walking distance Basic complimentary breakfast

Kitchens in your room Grills on property for use Loved listening to the sound of the waves at night No TVs, no distractions Just about being present And the beds/pillows are AMAZING! Best nights sleep we’ve gotten in a long time You sit on the bed and you’re out Haha Rooms are comfortable Definitely recommend

Jamie mckinney

This place is very nice outside The grounds are immaculate! The beach is so beautiful and the staff is extremely nice The problem is, you can hear every conversation going on next door and above you

We had to get up at 4am for an early excursion and got maybe 3 hours of sleep because the couple next door was arguing, then once they finally went to bed someone over there was snoring uncontrollably! It was insane! I’ve never experienced a more noisy room in my life! I almost went and slept in the rental car! Parking is also an issue Tight spots and not enough for all the guests No bar or restaurant on the premises either but there are a few places you can walk to As beautiful as it is, I don’t think I can come back here with how thin the walls are which is a real bummer because it’s absolutely beautiful!

Kristina Johnson Mazourek

We really enjoyed our stay Absolutely beautiful grounds and well maintained rooms Staff and other guests were very friendly

Beach out front is gorgeous—one of the nicest beaches we saw on MauiWe enjoyed using the grill by the pool and having a kitchenette in the room Going out to eat is expensive on Maui so it was nice to supplement with making our own foodContinental breakfast offered is good but light We bought some yogurt to go along with it Recommend bringing a coffee mug and plate from your room

We had a lovely stay! The room and bathroom were very nice We especially loved sitting on our private porch listening to the birds And an occasional Cockadoodledoo from one of the many Roosters that roam Makawao 😊 Just a short walk to go see many artist shops or grab a bite to eat at quite a few different restaurants

We will be sure to return on our next visit to Maui

When you’re tired of the resorts, this is the place to come The atmosphere is relaxed, and even a bit quaint, but everything is well tended Our room was cool (temperature) and colorfully decorated with great up-country charm

Cherie had to be off island while we were there, but her pinch hitters were really helpful, giving us great suggestions Breakfast was delicious – they provide fruit, coffee, bread, jams, butter, etc, and local eggs, but you get to cook yourself Makawao is a great small town, with good food in restaurants with lots of local charm, some amazing local art, and hospitable without being in-your-face Definitely coming back to stay here next time

AVOID AT ALL COSTSI had a reservation at the Maui Banyan for two nights this month At 330am on the first night of my stay the fire alarm/carbon monoxide alarm started going off and I woke up to feel myself tight chested and dizzy When I turned on the bedside light, I woke up to find two cockroaches on my bed and later I found three more in the kitchen

It probably should have been a warning sign that when I walked in my unit there was a sign saying the 5 dates for scheduled bug extermination in August alone After calling the after hours line, the security and the front desk, this hotel is still holding me liable for both night of the stay and has been utterly unresponsive and uncaring to the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of their hotel Avoid this location, despite the pretty pictures, and find yourself a safe and clean spot elsewhere with a management company that cares about your concerns

We stayed and b105 and the apartment was very comfortable and spacious The only downfall for us is having to pay for air conditioning and there was no TV in the bedroom The pool and hot tub was just steps away and really great

Plenty of tables chairs and loungers This was a staycation for us family of four Highly recommend this place to any families

Stephanie Fisher

We stayed four nights in a top floor corner unit of building D Pros: kitchen and baths were updated, w/d in until, great view from lanai, and restrooms right next to the pool Cons: there wasn’t an extra set of sheets, the bed in the master wasn’t exactly comfortable, and check-in wasn’t until 4pm but the office closed at 3pm

Bottom line, I would stay here again

What a lovely place to stay!!We had a wonderful time at the Pineapple Inn Mark and Steve were great hosts and took care of everything The room was quiet clean and comfortable

We loved the pool, hottub and puttinggreen The grounds were beautiful and serene We especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai and watching the birds and little lizards as we ate breakfast

Marissa Hapeman

The Pineapple Inn is simply the best place I’ve ever stayed The room (and entire property) was so clean, comfortable, relaxing, and inviting – and the beautiful location in Kihei goes without saying! The fridge stocked with local snacks was especially thoughtful and delicious as well Our only regret was that we didn’t stay there longer! If you’re on the fence about staying at the Pineapple Inn, DO IT! I can’t recommend it highly enough, and can’t wait to go back again someday

Lindsay Yellin

We adored Pineapple Inn The property is absolutely stunning and our individual room was spacious and comfortable With only 4 rooms you almost always feel as if you have the place to yourself

The Inn has a gorgeous pool and top-of-the-line hot tub Made for great evening swims under the stars after a full day exploring the island We thought the bed was very comfortable, the beach equipment you could borrow in great condition and the snacks/kitchen wear perfect for the few days we were there Lastly, the location was really nice Great proximity to Wailea beaches and restaurants and was on a really beautiful residential street There is a busy street behind the property, you do hear the cars but this didn’t bother us and was overshadowed by the incredible lush gardens and paradise atmosphere Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and affordable Maui accommodation

What a wonderfully understated vacation condominium! After reading prior reviews I was concerned

But there was absolutely no need to be!! From the cleanliness, to the nicely kept grounds and amenities, everything was above what I was expecting We traded in a week from our timeshare for our 10 year anniversary I felt this resort was a nice in-between for us as a couple, and we would definitely bring our family back as well The location was phenomenal! We appreciated being pretty centrally located to most everything we wanted and needed

We stayed here eight days for a wedding I don’t have any complaints about this place The grounds are immaculate and landscaped beautifully

(I would sit out on our deck drinking my coffee and watching them meticulously clean the grills out in the courtyard every morning, from the people who used them to grill the night before) We arrived at 11:30 at night and they had someone waiting there ready to go show us to our room The parking situation is great and you are really close to your rooms Lots of elevators to get to the upper floors My wife is handicapped and got around everywhere with no problems at all The only weird thing was all the air conditioners are on a 4-Hour timer so we would have to wake up in the middle of the night to cut them back on but that was really the only negative thing I can think to say about the entire resort during our stay there You are right on the ocean, and a beautiful beach There were sea turtles sleeping on the beach just a little ways away It will definitely be the place we go when we come back

Dawn Blanchette

Easy check in and strongly recommend going through the site rather than a third party site It will save you money!! Rooms are nice and the room I was in had everything I would need for the beach

Ice chest chairs, towels, even sand toys for the kids There is a ceiling fan and ac in both bedroom and livingroom but I feel if there were more than just myself staying an additional oscillating fan would be needed I could walk straight out to the beach from my room which was great to sneak out to watch the sunrise or sunset Overall i loved my room and my stay!! Strongly recommend!!!

This is a nice resort with good amenities I don’t know what all the rooms are like but some can be dated, however the rooms are very spacious Good for families with kids

The pool is very large and has a hot tub Although you have to be 18plus for the hot tub There is a tennis court, shuffle board and a mini golf on the property You can even get borrow all the equipment at the office which is awesome that you don’t have to bring or buy your own The property is across the street from the beach Highly recommend this resort for families with kids

From the beginning of my family’s stay until the very end, this resort was nothing short of spectacular The front desk staff and General Manager, Mr Costa, were highly professional; respectful; and courteous with the Maui hospitality you only read about in travel brochures

They saw to our every need even allowing my wife to store medication in their office refrigerator until our suite was ready Upon our return, our luggage was taken to our suite with no questions asked The suite was spacious, clean, and exceeded our expectations in every way with all the amenities of a home Their pool and jacuzzi were awesome and provided for long lazy afternoons of rest and relaxation If you stay here, please ask for Connie, the superb concierge who attended to all of our vacation needs She went above and beyond for my family in every sense of the word from finding my daughter a swim “hat” to booking my family’s helicopter tour To the entire staff; Connie; and Mr Costa, thanks from our family for a wonderful vacation experience We will recommend your hotel to anyone coming for a vacation on the Island of Maui Mahalo!

Vivian C

The space was bigger than what I expected I booked a 1 bedroom with sofa bed but I didn’t expect a loft with an additional queen bed and a daybed with pull out bed So our family of 4 each had our own bed

The condo was also well equipped with kitchen items, beach items, floaties for the pool, umbrellas, mats, drink cooler I don’t believe all units are the same as it seems we were in one of the time share units and the owner was very thoughtful Decor and furnishing was more modern than most pictures I would definitely request for unit 016 again Mahalo!

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your room They compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in the area

I have been coming here for years If you stay for a few nights you for sure won’t regret itMy husband and I, stayed here yesterday last minute due to having to leave our honeymoon with an emergency at home Very accommodating hotel Offered shuttle service from the airport Had the best service from the gentleman that worked the bar/restaurant area inside the hotel Very clean hotel and rooms Would absolutely stay again

This hotel has an excellent location near the airport (especially if you have an early flight the next day), the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-priced and it is also super-convenient to all of the shopping and food trucks in Kahului However, the best reason to stay here is the excellent customer service The staff and management is efficient, accommodating and very professional

They helped me with a big scheduling/technical error and handled it in the most professional and respectful manner I will definitely stay here again and customer services like this is why I am a loyal Marriott Bonvoy customer!!!

Very welcoming, super clean hotel Was nice to stay there for 2 nights before our resort time began Bed very comfortable and shower amenities have a good smell

Only uncomfortable thing was the couch but those are typical of Courtyard’s and therefore has nothing to do with the comfort of this hotel I recommend this hotelI

We stayed in the cottage This was not the most luxurious place to stay, it did not have all the bells and whistles But it was such a highlight of our trip! The owners absolutely made the visit

Their kindness, the grounds, it was absolutely beautiful The cottage was beyond comfortable Beautiful The views were glorious I would absolutely stay there again, every single time, no questions asked

Rose Burgweger

This is more of a hostel with bathrooms and showers down the hall It did serve us well though with an early morning flight at the airport, just 15 minutes away Glad they had fans in the rooms to circulate the air

The price was also very reasonable for Hawaii Appreciated the peaceful wall hangings portraying God’s peace and presence Thank you

Jess L

Decent locationHOWEVER, the reviews are right by saying this is 100% a hostel It is a hallway with a bunch of bedrooms

Coupled with the reviews about cockroaches, it just didn’t sit well with usNo one was there to greet us, our “food cabinet” consisted of 2 packs of what seemed like baby food and 2 granola barsWe walked in the room and walked right outour door was unlocked with the code taped on the other side of the door Which means anyone could’ve walked in, noted our door code and invited themselves in at anytime Wasn’t too comfortable with that eitherWe ended up biting the bullet and canceling our reservation, losing out on $300CAD, booking a different place through airbnbI’m sure the owners are nice, but they should not advertise as a B&BA bread and breakfast it is not
