Well I am handicapped and there were three people in our party They changed our room from two queens/doubles to a king with a pull out bed The beds were less than comfortable

My son who is 11 that stayed with us had to use the pull out couch and he said it was very uncomfortable They were only towels for two so we had to go back to get new ones for the third person in the party that we had booked for Then we had to go back for a pillow As there were not three of those either Now I asked the lady if they were going to have boiled eggs for breakfast She said no due to the pandemic they would not They had oranges and apples How can you have eggs that you peel not be there but apples that you don’t peel be there in The dining room? There was no meat cereal or you could make your own waffle and a few things of bread and cereal There was Apple and orange juice and coffee There were signs up that said do not take the food back to your room Very disappointing Now next comes critiquing the room She said this was during the pandemic so I would’ve expected the room to be spotless Another great disappointment I am not sure when they dusted last but I think it was probably when they built the place One of the remote controls didn’t work the handicap bars in the bathroom were filthy Video attached Now when you are handicapped you like to have the handicapped shower so that it is lower Again another broken item that had so much dust on it that I know it had been broken for a while (See picture) In the center they have a kitchen area I am not sure when the last time they clean the wall but I could’ve probably had a full meal on the food that was there (See picture) The light on my wife side of the bed didn’t work The cups in the cabinet weren’t clean so we had to wash them also before we use them When I arrived and I asked if they could bring extra linens to the room as I have listed above they told me they had no housekeeping We arrived about five or 5:30 PM The reason that they had moved me to a different room is because they said that some government workers had extended their stay And so if somebody decides to extend their stay the new party has to suffer?

Stayed here for my daughters birthday last night and asked for late checkout while I was checking in as we didn’t get in until late and desk attendant said that would be fine, checkout would be at 12:00 instead of 11:00 As we are packing our things to leave room attendants pounded on the door at 11:03 saying we were supposed to be out I notified them that the previous night we had late checkout for 12:00 approved

5 minutes goes by and a different front desk attendant starts calling the room rudely yelling that I needed to get out that they have government personnel on the way that rented the room and I cannot stay This was after room switches due to half of the suite not getting power, dirty hot tub and pool, bathroom issues that needed addressing, etc Customer service by the day crew has been absolutely subpar at best Will also be contacting booking agency as this has been a complete joke

Kris DiFatta

The first room was very hot, with a strange smell There was no bathtub, only a shower that leaked, and there was a wedding reception loudly thumping music below the roomThe front desk was very kind and moved us to another room

The second room was much cooler and quieter, with a bathtub The beds were softThe pool was closed for treatment so we were unable to use it Breakfast was simple, but sufficient There were no extra pillows for the pull out bed, and the front desk said they didn’t have any to provide There were also strange notes taped up all over the hotel with instructions of things not to do (ie don’t leave trash bags outside your door for house keeping, breakfast is only to be eaten downstairs, not in your room, etc)Overall, it wasn’t a terrible stay, but the price is a little steep for a basic hotel in need of an update

This hotel is very convenient to major highway (but not too close for noise) It has a nice breakfast offered, including eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, breakfast breads/muffins Good coffee and warm cookies in the later afternoon! The room was comfy

Bed/pillows very comfy nice to have fridge/freezer/microwave, especially staying a few days Shower had a handy seat if anyone needed Coffee maker/coffee was great A/C was pretty decent It cycled a bit loudly, but I appreciated you could keep air circulating constantly with fan option The only dislike was a carpet cleaner/odor smell, but nothing terrible The window curtains need to be about six inches longer to block out the very bright parking lot lights I just used pillows to block light! Quiet, lots of nearby dining/groceries and a few minutes to downtown quaint St Mary’s I’ll stay again!

Absolutely LOVED staying here! This is our new go to place in this area, as a family who travels A LOT we have seen our fair share of hotels This place was high on our list The check in staff we encountered was so sweet and informative

Our room was cozy and comfortable and SUPER CLEAN The entire hotel smelt clean, was clean, and so welcoming The weight room was clean and neat Pool was wonderful Breakfast selection was delightful and had something for everyone Will definitely be using them in the future and referring everyone here Pricing was fair and worth every penny All the many staff we met was courteous and helpful The hotel is in a busy area but felt like it wasnt I cannot say enough good things!

This place is truly the Best Western Came in after driving and was tired Rolled in about 12:30 am

Gentleman up front was nice and pleasant He gave me a wonderful room that smelled like mold Everything was damp Requested a room change The room was changed with no issues foundFell asleep and woke up from the same front desk gentleman telling everyone there is a fire at the gas station next door and we are required to evacuateWe had a ball outside watching the firefighters put out the fireWhat other adventures await for us at 2:30 in the morning Can’t wait!!!!

My first impression wasn’t that good The units appeared to be outdated However, once I moved in I had a change of heart

Rooms were clean and provided the home away from home feel that I needed During my stay I noticed that they were working hard to upgrade many of the units and amenities I was surprised at how large the units were The staff was always friendly and polite, they went out of their way to accommodate you Anytime I have to travel to Kingsland, Ga Mariners Suites has my reservations It’s like a small community within a community Keep up the great work!

I really wanted to love this place! It was cute But their bed was terrible, it was an old spring bed Pillows very flat and hurt my ears to sleep on

The comforter was still wet and smelled like mildew Their is a very cool popular bar next door with a live band that plays until 11pm So if you have one of the outside rooms you hear everything! From our door you can see the band Breakfast was bad too :/ Quiche was cold or gone The yogurt was frozen solid The shower was clogged I was able to fix that but then the hot water would turn on and off and the pressure would go down to a trickle Overall it was a good idea and has potential but fell short every time

We stayed at the Inn for Mother’s Day this past weekend The room was very outdated, and there was water from the A/C on the floor (a big puddle) the entire time we were there The jetted tub was not clean (the hoses needed maintenance)

Which would not have caused me to leave a bed review, but all that one top of the biggest issue we had The water went OUT while my daughter was taking a shower 3 times (during the shower) I had to tell her to turn it off and then on, and it workedbut then it went out a second time and came back a few seconds later SUPER coldit then went out AGAIN for a third time! This was not a very good experience considering the service was not very friendly Not BAD, but not great either Also there was a wedding and things were zoned offwhich is fine by itself, but when you add there was another event in the morning which it was zoned off and loud its just eh It like ok, are you an Inn or are you a event rental? Just not great at all would not recommend considering there are other bed and breakfast spots in the area for the same price Sorry for the brutal review, it was just EH and your customer service could do with a little bit of a chipper (meaning happy to see you, how was your stay, your room is located herebreakfast is at 8:30 over hereetc you know the usual pleasantries)

Kevin O’Brien

For a brief getaway to beautiful Fernandina beach, we chose the Florida House Inn to stay at because it was centrally located and looked historic I found out later that it is the oldest continously operating hotel in Florida, which is pretty cool Lots of character

The rooms are pretty basic, but ours had a jacuzzi tub, which was nice Disappointingly, the in-room fireplace cannot be lit, but this is probably a complaint better directed to the Florida regulatorsFree, good, made-to-order breakfast was a nice perkFree off-street parking is just behind the hotelAdjacent to the property (and owned by the same person) is the Green Turtle Tavern I was surprised that even mid-week in the off season, music is playing until 10PM It was relaxing to sit out on the sencond-floor balcony and listen while sipping a bottle of wine Old souls and light sleepers probably don’t need to worry about the noise; between sound-proofing and the air conditioning, we didn’t hear any noise from the streetOverall, a great historic hotel in a charming little city!

I wish I could give a higher rating, but I can’t Most of the staff I came in contact with were super nice and helpful The room, on the other hand, was awful

The toilet handle kept falling out, and there was broken and loose tiles in the bathroom The beds were the hardest and most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever encountered in a hotel The pullout bed, which we needed, was unusable It was nasty, dirty, and even a ten year old couldn’t sleep on it One of the beds (doubles, not queens) was literally 2 hand widths from the a/c unit, so whomever was in that bed was getting blasted with air The breakfast left much to be desired The lady working the breakfast was more interested in closing the thing down than she was restocking any items If the reservations hadn’t been non-refundable I would have taken my family to another hotel I have over 500 stays at Marriott, and can confidently say that this is NOT a good representation of the Marriott brand

Chloe Dupuis

If you can avoid it, don’t stay here This is a very (very) old hotel The lobby and breakfast area and nice and updated, but the rest is just so old

The room we had was small and dingy There was an old odor Old carpets, old furniture, old bathroom In general, the room was clean But it is so old that the ceilings and walls, wall paper etc are so stained and used We left the window open all night to air the place outThankfully we only stayed one night We didn’t interact with the staff much, though they seemed friendly

Daniel Robinson

Easily the least comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel Maybe the king beds are better – I can’t speak to those, but this bed was awful It’s not just the firmness, I’m good with a firm bed, but holy hell, just super uncomfortable

And the pillows suck Granted, nearly all hotel pillows suck, but still Also, the turn to get back to the hotel is weird and unmarked – maybe it’s easier during the day

This hotel seems really nice Friendly staff They give you two items of snacks or water when you check in

There are free cookies for the taking (didn’t try) They have a small pool and a hot tub, neither of which I triedThe bed was comfortable enough and seemed cleanThe shower didn’t have much water pressure, and the water was just a little bit warmer than body temperature, but not by much They have this flimsy shower curtain that didn’t contain the water well (even though I made efforts to do so) and got water all over the floor and my clothesThe temperature in the room wouldn’t warm nicely, the blanket was warm enough and there was a spare in the closetThe breakfast was very good and had lots of variety Although there was no orange juice nor any milk alternativeThere is coffee and hot water for tea and hot chocolate all night

Lori Brunsman

The staff was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! ALWAYS asking if they could do anything to make our stay more enjoyable, even when we arrived at midnight, the night desk clerk had a smile and was very nice Ro was wonderfully clean Breakfast was perfect! Breakfast staff, maintenance guy I’m the hallway and front desk staff all super friendly and helpful this morning

DEFINITELY would recommend this Hampton Inn!!!

The Kristler’s

I had a very good stay at this Hampton Inn Everything was clean Location was very convenient with several restaurants in the area

The in app checking, room selection, room key and check out all worked great Included breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long while Not a huge selection but it open early (6AM) and the items were all of decent quality and quantity I’d certainly stay here again if I were in the area

What a wonderful place to rest, recharge and be with nature We spent a weekend at the Inn and loved it Totally recommend a visit

The staff is very friendly and accommodating The boat ride onto the island is very easy going and on time The food is the best we ever tasted, kudos to the chef The decor is very well kept to the time period of a historical inn The attention to details is seen in the entire inn and property Great!”Special thanks to Elle working at the Inn and Christina who provided great tours”

Asya Butler

Absolutely magical placeWe booked our second stay as soon as we came back home from the first one=)The house is interior designer’s dream with lots of charming details Staff is very nice and helpful yet you are left alone most of the time which we loved

The nature is incredible! Its out of this world We went in March (perfect temperature wise) and in July (very hot and humid with lots of bugs but the forest is incredibly gorgeous this time of year)Another unexpected luxury is the food Breakfast and lunches are great but dinners are a real fine dining experience You can tell their chef is a real proOverall we felt like this place is consistently held to the highest standards in every little detail

Matt Smith

Visited mid June ‘22 and stayed in one of the rooms in the Inn This was our second trip to Greyfield, and the good news is that nothing had changed in 7 years! The island is unlike anything else, the Inn is beautiful and filled with history, the food was excellent at every meal, and the peace and quiet was exactly what we were looking forTake the excursions – the naturalists know the history and all the best spots to stop and see wildlife and other photo ops

Because of the flight & ferry schedules, we had to fly in a day early and stay in a bed & breakfast in Fernandina It was there and at dinner that we heard concerns about air conditioning in Greyfield Not sure where this urban myth comes from: Greyfield has had central air conditioning for years Our room, the dining room and common areas were all cool in the midst of a scorching heat waveGo and visit Greyfield! You won’t regret it

Had 2 good rooms here, one standard and one king suite I stayed a week and I can’t say I have any complaints, beyond housekeeping ignoring the do not enter sign 2 hrs before checkout They even had flavored creamer 24/7 and half/half

Some places lock it down They have vending machines and laundry equipment Unfortunately there is no change machine Good water pressure, comfortable beds, and the king suite was nice except for the smaller TV than the regular rooms It was great for meetings in the room, physical or zoom, and will probably only stay in a king suite next time

Pauline Torres

A great stay! The first night, the AC in our room was not cooling properly Kim at the front desk did everything she could to resolve the issue, but it could not be fixed (it was late at night) She brought in a fan for the night and the next morning, maintenance replaced the unit with a new one

Aila who works the breakfast area was very polite and patient with all our questions The room was clean and spacious Pet friendly hotel Good price Would stay here againA couple of suggestions: the bathroom had no fan, which would be good for hot showers or “stinky deposits” and the only light was an extremely bright ceiling light Maybe a smaller, less bright light to keep on during the night for late night excursions to potty

freda frey

Wasn’t sure what to expect when we booked this place for an overnight stay on our way to Florida It is just okay, however, I would not stay there again for a few reasons First of all, when we walked into the room, it had a stuffy odor

not musty really, but quite noticeable Otherwise, it did look clean Secondly, our bed had a very noticeable squeak every time you moved In addition, the pillows were truly horrible small, lumpy, poly-filled Breakfast was quite good with a variety of food Overall, for a one-night stay it was just okay at best, but I will pass on this hotel next time

Right now the facility is in the process of an update/renovation so there is a mix of old and new The room was newly done but still from a decor perspective felt a bit dated probably from the furniture and bath counter It was clean

We did not find the bedding particularly comfortable (mattress and pillows) For the one night we stayed we could not get the room cooled to recommended sleep temperature (until after 6 am) and I thought the sound proofing between hall noise and other random guest noises less than usual Basically not a good night sleep Breakfast appeared slightly above average– I didn’t sample Staffing appeared pleasant and eager to help We did not discuss any of the above issues since we were only there one night In summary: Pros–clean friendly and convenient but not particularly cool crisp or quiet

Tamia Precha

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at My family and I reserved a block of 8 plus rooms, over a month in advance The sheets were filthy with apparent stains and hair as if they were not changed

We requested new sheets from the front desk within five minutes of checking in to the room We waited several hours and was then informed by the front desk that housekeeping changed our bedding We did not leave the room and nobody made an attempt to enter the room and change the sheets After discussing the matter with the front desk a second time, we were given sheets to change the bedding ourselves The sheets we were provided also had stains that resembled bodily fluids The rooms were also bug infested for which the front desk seemed to be aware of as they provided us with bug spray to spray down our rooms The toilets were filthy making it evident that they were not cleaned regularly My family and I intended to stay for 3 nights but changed our hotels after one night due to the filthiness of the hotel and the lack of care from staff

Jessie

This hotel seemed clean and comfortable until 3 am when my husband woke up to bed bugs in his pillow After driving 9 hours we didn’t have the energy to go complain so decided to tough it out until morning When we went to take showers we noticed that there was a used washcloth and bar of soap inside the shower

In the morning we stepped out of our room to find a cockroach crawling outside our door Breakfast area was cramped and chaotic, and no Covid mitigation measures were in place When we complained about our experience with the bed bugs to the person at the front desk, they sighed nonchalantly and said that they “usually give a discount when this happens” but they didn’t have the authority to do it and their manager didn’t usually arrive until noon The manager did call us later and said that when inspecting the room they found “a type of bug” and would have an exterminator come as well as give us a full refund, including pet fee for our dog Glad they made it right but we will definitely not be staying here again

The location is perfect and staff very kind However, extremely overpriced for a tiny room and no amenities It is not a clean place

The floors come up black when you wipe them No closets or sitting spaces I understand it’s a historical place but it can definitely be preserved better considering the prices they charge Recommend spending money on a local B&B or hotel off the exit

Husby C

Wonderful, central location The room we stayed in was right above live music I guess depends on the mood you’re in on whether that is a nuisance or an amenity

The room is small but did the trick for what we needed The entrance was mildly hard to find It is on the side that has the outside deck on the 2nd floor Otherwise, you can miss it Parking is limited but we still managed The staff were all friendly

Staff was friendly and breakfast was very good! I’m only giving 4 stars because when I slept on the sofa bed, it wasn’t the comfiest It was flat and not a typical comfy bed like I am used to We drove hours from home towards our vacation stop and we’re very tired so I just wanted a little more comfort

Very clean and a good overnight stay

I recently returned from a two night stay in The Kitchen Suite at the Fairbanks House and loved every minute of it!From the first moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome I arrived early in the day and Yvonne kindly gave me a beach chair and towel so that I could relax on the beach Once I checked in, I made my way to the beautiful pool to read and enjoy a sunny afternoon

The daily cocktail hour with complimentary drinks and snacks was a great opportunity to enjoy the lovely porch and mingle with other guests If you want to just enjoy some solitude and read a book while you sip your wine, that’s fine too! Warm cookies in the evening were such a sweet surpriseMornings at The Fairbanks House are truly magical Each morning I was greeted warmly and offered a carafe of coffee while I enjoyed The Kitchen Suite’s private porch Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the hosts were so thoughtful in accommodating my vegetarian diet, including delicious vegetarian sausageThe owners and staff are warm and professional The Fairbanks House is clean and inviting The grounds are immaculately maintained and the house sits in a lovely historic neighborhood and it’s a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants I spent many hours enjoying the beautiful outside spaces during my time thereMy suite was very well appointed and comfortable The Kitchen Suite was a perfect place for me and I will definitely be back again!

We just returned from a 3-day stay at the Fairbanks House (where we also eloped!) and it was wonderful The inn is beautiful and the Kitchen Suite was very spacious and comfortable The location was great and the staff was welcoming and attentive

Breakfast was delicious They did an amazing job with our elopement package and handled everything from the officiant, to the photographer, a tour of the island, dinner, and cake All we had to do was show up! I would absolutely recommend the Fairbanks House to anyone!

I stayed at the Fairbanks house while visiting Amelia Island for the first time It was such an incredible stay! I was in love with every single detail, and every single thought that was put into this bed and breakfast From the decor, the details of the house itself, and the friendly staff- everything was absolutely amazing

I stayed there during Christmas time so i had a Christmas tree in my own room while the others in my group had the entire house that was decorated One of the owners personally greeted my group the next morning during breakfast (we checked in late which they were accommodating about) The breakfast was delicious If I ever visit Amelia Island again, I will definitely stay here All I have are pictures and memories to share with my family of this place but I want to bring them to experience the beauty and history of the Fairbanks House!
