Stayed a week on Family vacationIn a pretty good location, fairly close to several attractions/entertainment options Beautiful beach within 8min of hotel; Manhattan Beach/Pier (Less busy than Santa Monica)Good staff service, with good breakfast, and reception food n beverage options

The Hotel does a decent job keeping the facility and rooms clean Just needs to be cleaned more frequently, if possible, and a little more thoroughlyOverall, a pretty satisfactory stay for the week!!!

The hotel located on the 405 But you don’t hear nothing They’re very kind clean, and just did remodel

Very good service! very recommend!! we had a lot of fun and a answer of all our requestLess good: If the Check is in 15:00 the room will not be ready before! also we were there 14 nights and the GYM where close because of broken mirror that didn’t fixed!but still we are recommended for this place the feeling it’s good you will love it

Overall the staff in the kitchen area really made our stay pleasant The Mexican and Filipino lady always greeted us with a smile each morning and offered to make waffles prior to it being busy, the free dinner offered from Mon-Thurs was an extra added bonus too, free wine selections and beer craft on tap The ladies offered to take our plates it was next level service

The cleanliness of the hotel was amazing only down fall was the fact that house keeping is only offered on certain days unless you request it with 24hours notice No daily house keeping Parking was $18 per day Another issue I had was they only had one set of elevators so if your room is on the other side of the building it was a far walk to the elevators There was stairs but it could be an issue if you have to carry things up etc overall nice hotel

Such an Exquisite Hotel and Grandeur presence Entire hotel immaculate and rooms are well appointed I like that the sink is outside/separate of the shower and toilet area

The shutter that divides the two beds is a genius idea The decor is elegant and traditional but yet felt modern The room size was massive for a standard double room It felt like a 500 sq ft room The coffee in the room was very goodUnfortunately, we only stayed one day and arrived late so we didn’t get to eat at the restaurant or enjoyed the outside courtyard nor the many areas to explore and to just relax and soak in the atmosphere We did, however, get to enjoy the fireplace while having a late night snack I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant as the food smelled heavenly Additionally, there are many shopping centers/plaza across the street which we didn’t get to take advantage of as well The entire area is completely safe and very well lit as it is a very lively town The hotel does have a private parking for a fee I will definitely come back and stay longer

Ayres Hotel is comfortable and homely Staff are friendly and we loved the pool and spa Rooms were serviced daily and everything was spotlessly clean and today

Location is good, next time I would ask for a room not overlooking the freeway Stayed here with my husband and adult son Plenty of room for the three of us and privacy between the beds and the shutters were a great idea We will be back!

Lynne Henley

The employee that was on the desk the night of my arrival was very professional and he greeted me with a sincere and warm welcome I was so exhausted from the work day, that he had to literally verbally guide me to my room The room was exceptionally clean throughout which made the night very relaxing for me

I will truly recommend this hotel to my guest and use it again for local retreats

I stayed here May 21st and did a late check in at around 9 pm there was a young lady and young man working they did an amazing job with assisting me Everything went so smoothly the next morning the same young lady helped me again as well! the property is beautiful and so are the rooms! Will def be staying here more often! Thank you Residence Inn LA Redondo Beach for everything!!

Jon Beacher

I was afraid of the road noise facing the highway, but they have double glass city windows that drowns out all the car noise The bed was very comfortable and stellar free breakfast The lobby has a very homely feel with a fireplace and many tables

Fire pit outside was amazing and the front desk people are charming I would definitely stay here again

Morgan Roberts

It wasn’t great It was average You get what you pay for so don’t expect much

This isn’t a luxury hotel They charge 20 a night for parking, which seems a little expensive and unnecessary for self park The hot breakfast only existed for 2 mornings The rest was pre packaged sandwiches Room was 50 feet from fwy and loud Customer service was the best part and the comfy beds!

The Manhattan location of Shade is retro, stuck in the 90s with it’s mahogany decor, faded carpets and dark interior design If you’re lucky the get a ground floor room you might encounter the sweet sounds of restaurant and kitchen clattering The hotel is centrally located near the pier and many local restaurants

The bed was firm and comfortable, the ac worked too well, and the bathrooms were more like a 25-3 star hotel We were surprised at how busy the hotel was, we couldn’t check in until check-in time, 3 I’ve usually found it quite easy at other hotels to get an earlier check-in

Cory Moulton

Great location and comfortable rooms, if a bit dog eared and dated Carpets etc could use a refresh Staff is wonderful and the hotel has a very comfortable vibe

Food good as well Only compaint is the $20 per person / per night “resort fee” So annoying Just charge AND list the rates you need to charge in order to make money Or, let me decline resort fee at check in and take away my rights to use the elevators, pool and public restrooms

Elizabeth Peterson

Highly recommend The Shade Hotel After issues with our AirBnB, we decided to stay here From the booking, through the changes, checkin, valet, room, restaurant, bar, to our departure, everything was great

The staff all went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great Location was perfect for our trip We will definitely be back to stay again Thank you to Ron, Marissa, Gustavo and Daniel for making our stay amazing!

My family staying here after an accident at my parents home Staff helped us get adjoining rooms on 1 hour notice Then helped us move parents to the closest handicapped-accessible toom within a week

Breakfasts are wholesome and variety is good Cleaning staff is accommodating Rooms are generally quiet Gated parking is a plusThe only thing is that carpet and hard floors are so old and dirty they are sticky and socks turn black in a day Would love it if floors were steam cleaned periodically

I’m 62 old wife 64 We requested room on first floor We reserved 2 or 3 weeks in advance

Nice spot for family vacation The rooms are good size Includes small kitchen, full fridge, 2 burner stove, dishwasher, stocked cabinets with utensils, dishes and cookware

Plenty of closet storage, hangers, iron board w/ ironer Prefer the central air cool and heat blows from top of ceiling so cools whole room evenly We got double bed with sofa sleeperBreakfast buffet M-F is 6-9am Food is mediorcetypical fake eggs, country taters with sausage, flap jacks, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, yogurt, rainforest coffee, juice machineAll in all, breakfastsad Best thing was the fruits The only other problem was a stinky gas leak smell in our front door Lasted for a few hours Made our room smell like fartBest part about this hotel is location Close to all local amenties, Del Amo Mallhuge nice mall you can spend whole day shopping, lots of different restaurants to choose from, 5 min away from Redondo Beach, 8 min from Hermosa Beach

This is the second time staying here and I plan on booking again in the future! The staff is always friendly and the cleaning staff is just wonderful and kind! The first time there was a different variety every other day for breakfast This time unfortunately it was the same stuff everyday and I would rather not warm my frozen food with the plastic on it in a microwave but that seemed to be the only option they have now And the washer/dryer definitely need an update

Other then that it was great as usual Again I want to applaud the GREAT staff!

Check in was a breeze, I got there early and it wasn’t a problemThe beds were to low and to soft forThere were several outlets near the bed which is a plus due to medical equipmentThis hotel is near the freeway and close to several restaurants

There were too many compact parking spaces which is minor but can be inconvenient if coming in late and you have to walk around the building by yourselfI didn’t eat breakfast I only seen pork products however I did like the fact that it was individually wrapped There were bagels and other stuff but we passedEveryone that I came in contact with was very nice and helpful Even though the bed wasn’t for me but the location is everything I would stay again

Great for a short stayFrom bad to good

The bad 1) Our air didn’t work Hot or cold 2) Our room was not serviced or cleaned I’m not sure if we had to request this But most hotels (even small motels) do this automaticallyNot a deal breaker but worth noting 1) Small continental breakfast 2) Bad location for the TV It was in the middle of where the bed was and the couch was So bad angle and hurts your neck after a whileGood 1) The beds were extremely comfortable 2) Staff was nice and courteous 3) Good hotel location 4) Fair pricing 5) Pretty quiet for a hotel so close to the airport 6) Air purifier in the room adds a nice touch 7) Desk was perfect to get some work done

We flew into LAX on a later flight and arrived to the hotel around 8pm We used points to stay at Westdrift and was pleasantly surprised The service was impeccable

I was traveling with three young children and the staff could not have been more helpful, warm and caring They joked with myself and my children and we had a lot of fun The hotel was nicely furnished and clean We will stay again at this location!

Dena H.

I stayed at this location for 2 nights and had a very pleasant stay It was extremely clean in the rooms and in the common areasThe staff are also very friendly

The food here is really good and I highly recommend eating breakfast at the hotel There is also a bar in the lobby and a tiny cafeThe only downside is parking is extremely expensive per night about $40 per night but you can see if they’ll be able to lower it

Emanuel Eni

quite bad front desk servicethe hotel is nice and the rooms are big and modern but the daytime front desk staff

talk about booted people I barely got a hello from 3 people 1 was checking in peopel while the other two were chatting and sitting on the phoneno acknowledgement of my status (and appreciation for being a loyal customer), no water, no late checkout offered (although entitled to), no acknowledgement and apologies for not being able to offer any upgrades after checkin I have asked for a room change further away from the airport and from the noisy AC unit that was just in front of my window and I got a very rude: no rooms availablenight staff was very supportive and they promptly acted when some guests were too loud in the middle of the nightbreakfast was great, but a bit understaffed so you had to wait to be seatedif they would solve the front desk and would give the girls some customer interaction training it could get the 5 stars it deservesI’m going back in 3 weeks and hopefully the front desk would be better staffed

Stayed at this TownePlace Suites for 3 nights for leisure Overall, I had an excellent stay The front desk staff was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy

Rooms felt clean and were very spacious The lobby was bright and spacious, and served as a nice work area The free breakfast was surprisingly good, and it included both hot and cold options One thing to note, though, is that the pull-out sofa bed is not comfortable; the mattress is rather hard Finally, and perhaps this is a Marriott thing, but I wonder why a mobile key can’t just be issued upon completing mobile check-in Overall, though, I had a great stay and would consider this property again Great location near LAX, too

debi karpinski

Upon arriving the lobby is bright, nicely decorated, ample seating for casual discussions and also for work The pool area is very nice with areas to sun bathe as well as areas near the pool with couches and pit areas with an outdoor fireplace The room was clean, spacious and well appointed

This hotel was AMAZING!!! The views of the ocean, the patio, the room decor, the cleanliness, the staff were so kind and accommodating and the location is my personal favorite so location deserves 100 starsReasons I gave it a 4 The biggest being that my neighbors made nonstop noise from about 9p to 4a that sounded like someone dropping a bowling ball every few minutes

In between the horrendous thunderous noise was chalkboard screeching noise I lost sleep completely Also the parking is terribly tiny, the room is a bit small and there was construction right at the propertyThat said, I’ll be booking my return to this location soon This is still my favorite because the vibe was so free and bright Hopefully neighbors and construction won’t be an issue I’ll be happy to park in the tiny spaces and will deal with a smaller than expected room size because everything else about it was above my expectations I’ll see you all soon!!!!

Hannah Emfon

I really hate to give this review as I’m not a complainer at all but the staff give me no alternative Communication with the hotel was awful I asked before arrival via email what the hotel could offer outside of the standard packages for my wife’s birthday after chasing on numerous occasions with no reply I finally got a standard response of the packages offered on the website to which I declined (they weren’t to her liking) upon arrival I was told there were items in the room to celebrate (these weren’t agreed) when advised I hadn’t agreed to anything they said leave them to one side and we will refund you

We did this and I have since requested the refund 3 times via email (I can’t call as we are in the UK) and have received no response Service and communication is poor which is unfortunate for such a beautiful hotel Management clearly do not care about their standard of service!

Elisa A

Last week was my 2nd stay at the Sea Sprite & it was amazing!! A young guy with glasses brought our luggage all the way to the 3rd floor when he didn’t have to, I didn’t get his name but he was really great Anne checked us in again & was so pleasant My plans in LA are all over & can be far from the hotel but I don’t mind it because of the view & the amazing service they provide

I plan on staying here for all future trips to LA Thank you to all of the staff & the little guy with glasses!

The location was amazing!! 1 mile to the beach and close to shops and restaurants! Our room was a good size and clean! The breakfast was pretty good with a lot of variety The beds could have been more comfortable and the walls seemed a little thin—we could hear when our neighbor was running water Overall, it was great and we will definitely stay again!

If it were not for Ericka, I would have canceled my ENTIRE stay I made an initial call requesting an early check-in and was advised they didn’t have rooms available for early check-in and to come at 4 PM (guaranteed check-in) I called back 15 minutes after 4pm to confirm amenities for our room and was advised by Alex that because loyalty members requested late check-outs; our SUITE was not available for check in at the guarantee check in time of 4 PM

He advised I allow an additional 45 minutes; however, I called back, spoke with Ericka who confirmed there WAS a room and she saved it for us to ensure we weren’t displaced Erika is accommodating, friendly , and has such a beautiful spirit; she needs to remain the face of this company because without her, they would lose QUALITY CONSUMERS Go Ericka!!!!

Red Avett

Received an incidental charge of $55 despite not ordering food and barely being in the room Front desk confirmed there were no incidentals and said it should fall off and it did not When I disputed it with my credit card, they indicated the front desk said it was legitimate

Also, Suite Night Award was not granted, but they did not return the Suite Night making that platinum benefit an intangible lottery that could grant you nothing

This hotel is honestly a joke It was giving motel 6 vibes The pricing of everything (room, parking) and a $200 deposit that WASN’T stated on the website didn’t equate to the overall service being given

Which ALSO, I still have not received my deposit back even though they told me I would receive it when I checked out I checked out last week!-_- I called multiple times and they keep pushing back the days when I should receive it Not only that the Pool was dirty and the cleaning workers did not seem like they wanted to clean my room either If you get paid to do a job, maybe do the job at the best of your ability? Smh

JL MYIK

I stay here for 3 nights, and the room was big and nice Great location and front desk ppl Yet I asked to have my room cleaned and NOT ONCE was it cleaned

They also have you pay for parking and there was nowhere to park after paying for my whole stay There was $200 deposit for the room, but the room had nothing in there and still haven’t received it back

Anaseini Aleamotua

Fire alarm went off inside the room, but they weren’t able to help in any way so I had to figure it out myself Room wasn’t cleaned for the whole stay even after asking for services Had to quickly go in to the room to grab my wallet and was told off by the room cleaners that she won’t proceed with the cleaning since I came in for 10 seconds

During the interaction, another guest expressed that she’s been asking them to clean her room for two weeks The bare minimum was barely met and the I only gave the star for the location

We stayed in the private room and had very mixed feelings about the placeLocation: we loved the location during the day It was super convenient, and we loved walking all around OB

Unfortunately at night it was so loud it was impossible to sleep There is no A/C, so you have to leave the windows open The entire room was shaking from the noise until at least 2amCleanliness: the sheets seemed to be freshly laundered but as we were leaving, we found trash from a previous visitor under the bed The bathroom was decently clean but definitely not the most clean hostel I’ve ever stayed atComfort: this is where we had the biggest problem The bed was rock hard I’m not sure if they had other rooms available because they charge $20 to change rooms after check inJust another thing to be aware of They have a policy where you can’t have anything but water in your room Not a huge deal, but we do enjoy takeout occasionally after a long day of traveling, so it was a bit annoyingOverall we wouldn’t stay there again, but you won’t find anything as cheap in the area

Anthony Tilley

First, Fantastic location! If you’re going to be up partying all night then this is the place for you The downside is that the hostel is literally over a live music bar that plays all night so if you are more of an early riser then maybe look elsewhere The bed and walls vibrated with music, ear plugs are not enough

Also the private room wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped but not terrible compared to other hostels

John Ryan Barnhart

Surf City Hostel features two separate lounge areas, a communal bathroom + showers, plus one and a half that are private if that’s more your preference (body wash + shampoo are included free of charge) I felt super safe and secure in the hostel as the front/back entrance are closed in the evening and reception is open until 2:00am There is a locked luggage storage room and lockers located inside each room

The whole hostel is cleaned daily The wifi was fast enough to work remotely and complete my schoolwork There are bars, restaurants, and cafes all centrally-located right below the hostelAngelica was inviting and welcoming, she knew every answer to any question about activities & happenings in the area Audrey is an absolute customer service master – she always has fun stories and informational tidbits to make the most out of your stay All of the volunteers were an absolute pleasure in every way and meeting them offered a chance to learn about different cultures and languages (I learned a bit of French during my stay, and was able to practice my Spanish) 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy their stay away from home Thanks Surf City Hostel, maybe next time I will actually go surfing 😉

Will never book again, their lobby closes at 11pm, and when we tried to call to explain we’d be late, because of flight delays, it was always busy, couldn’t even leave a message, was charged @ mid night for cancellation, when we tried to call again in the morning at 9 when they open, it would still give us the busy line tone, didn’t hear from them until 11 am, which by then we had booked another hotel Terrible service, DO NOT RECOMMEND

The worst place I have ever stayed in The room was extremely tiny, don’t be fooled by the pictures The bed was very dirty and had stains all over, and the pillows had brown things on them that looked as either blood or something worse

I don’t recommend this place Also bed bugs My whole body was itching all night and i couldn’t sleep They refused to change my room or even change the sheets, even after showing them the brown stains Their excuse, the lady that cleans the rooms and changes the sheets is not here and won’t be back until tomorrow and all other rooms are taken even though the parking lot was half full I am convinced the good reviews here are fake

WONDERFUL STAY!!! It took me a very long time to choose a place to stay for my solo trip to California Based on views and price, Hi View was the top choice The staff was amazing and kind ! They allowed for a late check out and whenever I needed anything, they ensured I got it ! I stayed for 7 days and I had such a pleasant stay

The bathroom is newly renovated and I loved the large mirror with great lighting It is not run down at all, the rooms are spacious and even had a couch in it ! Clean, spacious , great location, great staff, I can not say enough good things! Also only a 15 minute walk straight to the beach and a 15 minute walk to Target ! I am definitely staying here again!

New favourite airport hotel!! The Hyatt House provided a great stay with a spacious room, good location and a rooftop pool and barService was excellent with all requests catered for View of the runway was great for plane lovers

Amenities are absolutely worth the stay with a good free breakfast provided!Hotel/airport shuttle takes a little while to show up so I would call in advance when you’re leaving to and from the airport

Norman Irlandez

The location near the airport was simply perfect There is a free shuttle service from the airport Staff was welcoming and very accommodating

Clean rooms with views to the airport Good value for money A plus is that we arrived early because of our flight and the front staff did an early check-in for us Will definitely book this hotel again

We got the 1 bed suite The area of the room was large and you have many spaces for storingCleanliness was very good and the view of the room was amazing as we got high floor room

The only thing that was annoying is lack of luggage carts I had to carry them all the way from the paring lot to the roomAmenities of the hotel worth the money you are paying for the room Wifi speed and breakfast were very good as wellLast, cost of the parking shall be revised and considered 45$ per night is very high

I only stayed for 10 hours (Omaha->LA->Omaha business quicky), but I enjoyed every minute of my stay My room was clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable Thai delivery was nearby and available at 1:30 AM, as were breakfast pastries

You get a breakfast “swag bag” in the morning which has a decent burrito with a few sides thrown in I didn’t have time to swim, but the pool looked great Will definitely return, hopefully for a longer stay

The lady at the front desk was not nice when we checked out But when we were checking in the guy there was very nice The lady who was cleaning was also nice

It is a non smoking hotel, but we woke up to a strong smell of weed I like the parking garage, it was weird but it made me feel safe It was ok, probably the safest hotel It was also the cheapest in the area If you don’t mind maybe smelling some weed I recommend

The beds are the absolute worse! The bed is extremely hard, you can feel every spring digging into your back, makes the loudest noise with every move! It was hard to stay asleep when you u consciously shift in your sleep If you have back problems this will definitely make you sufferI advised the staff serval times and even 1 week ahead of time

I would require a 1st floor room with immediate access to outside since I have trouble with stairs due to an injury When it was time to check in they said I had to go a second floor room, that had no immediate access to outside for fresh air When I went to complain because it’s difficult and painful to go up and down stairs, they brushed me off with the absolute worst customer service No sorrys just shrugs and oh wells Even got some attitude when I complain that I kept checking in to make sure they know I needed an outside room being on the first floor, can you believe that?!They have a tiny little trash can for their kitchen which is ridiculous since you can fit anything in it especially when you have an entire kitchen The cooking ware looks very run downAlso I find it very awkward and weird how the vents are so conveniently facing the bed, which I advised y’all checking before doing anythingAlso the room we were in had this huge window that faces the living room and part of the bedroom And the ONLY curtain u can close was a SHEER SEE THRU curtain!!!!!! Talk about not being able to walk comfortably thru the room without the possibility of someone looking inside! It was beyond stupid and lack of privacy!I found it very inconvenient and weird how the card you use to open your room can be deactivated if accidentally brushed against your phoneI’m also shocked there was no jacuzzi, very disappointedAlso found yellow stains on our white bed It looked fresh and it made me feel disgustedTheir breakfast was not appetizing, if you take the risk of staying here , you will see what I mean when you go down to breakfastOverall I don’t recommend coming here Sticking with the resident inn by Marriott As someone who is well traveled, this is not the place

Very friendly staff! Rooms were very nice and spacious Having a Metro station next to the hotel made it very convenient to going downtown One thing: room service; I totally understand we have to schedule housekeeping post covid pandemic, but now I interpret that as good protocol to keeping your customers safe

Otherwise, very good stay

Wonderfully clean laundry room, eating common area and room! Check in on memorial day weekend, Saturday May 28th, was seamless I was greeted by Andy (the manager on shift) and she was extremely welcoming provided me with the information I needed to know about the property and time breakfast was served I have zero complaints and will be back

Thank you residence inn for the amazing stay! I only took pictures of my breakfast 😂
