My husband and I stayed here for 5 weeks and really enjoyed this resort! The creek that runs along the property was a peaceful retreat for us and our dog We very much appreciated the dog wash station, too The bathrooms and facilities were maintained and kept very clean

The landscaping was immaculate The ladies in the office are very helpful and kind Overall, this place can’t be beat!

Chris Goettl

The yurt was amazing and exceeded all expectations! 2 bedrooms and living/dinning room area! Who would have thought all that would fit inside and with plenty of room to spare Did not feel cramped in the slightest Only stayed one night

Wished we could stay longer I could live in there for a month! Loved the private patio/deck and personal BBQ Super nice staff! Well done

Dawn Kelly

Safety is always top of mind for us, and I can say we have always felt safe in the nine months we’ve been here at Premier The groundskeepers keep everything looking clean and well maintained and there are plenty of grassy areas and green space to enjoy Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and respond promptly to requests for information or service

We would like to give a special shout out to manager Tyler who saved us from having to call an emergency repair person out when we needed to move spaces and our jacks wouldn’t retract He also helped us find the best place to buy replacement batteries and made sure they were installed correctly Truly a special crew here!

This place is exactly what you would expect for the price Clean, simple room Pretty comfy bed

TV, mini fridge, and microwave all working appropriately The shower head was a little short, but had great pressureThe two front desk workers I interacted with were very friendly and efficient They were also very cool about my late check out Also a great location in South SalemConsidering the other surrounding hotels, this is a great choice for the price Save yourself a little money and stay here!

Andre Kovacs

This was my first time at the a Howard Johnson by Wyndham The price was the best rate we had on this trip to Oregon The place is very nice the place is a very large hotel This Hotel has been completely up dated

Coffee in the room, very large TV with all the cable you could enjoy Fitness room, real nice and clean swimming pool to relax by Anything we asked they were glad to provide Washer and Dryer to catch up on our laundry Safety is always a factor for me There were no dark spots at night in the parking areas For the two star hotel rating system This Howard Johnson’s should be higher Thank you to all the help this was a very comfortable place to relax and stay for my trip to the State Capitol of Oregon

Alexandra Cannon

This was a 4-star experience for me I’m literally rating 5 stars because the amount and reasoning of the low reviews seems ridiculous to me I booked here because it was so much more affordable and then I almost cancelled because of all the bad reviews

This hotel is FINE It’s an affordable option in a very convenient part of South Salem Our room was very clean We took the bedding apart to check for bed bugs (honestly, you should do this at ANY hotel – it can happen anywhere) and everything was bleach white and spotless Even the nooks and crannies of the floors and furniture were cleanThe service was wonderful We arrived around 9PM and had to ring the bell There was only one woman working She hustled out and was super friendly Check in and check out were easy and they accommodated our last minute late check out requestWe were on the bottom floor The flooring is vinyl plank, not carpet I guess I see why some might not like it But it is SO much more sanitary than carpet! The bathroom was small The corner shower was a little awkward But the water was hot and the pressure was good Bed was comfortable The pillows were odd Of the 4 we got, they were each different and of varying quality 😂There was some kind of hubbub outside our window in the parking lot late one night I think given the price and central location, that kind of thing is a risk Nothing felt unsafe or weird All the rooms are interior entrance onlySo, overall The hotel is totally acceptable and 100% what I expect at this level It’s not a luxury or upscale choice and it doesn’t pretend to be We’d definitely stay again

The shower was nice and overall the room and all amenities make this an easy choice for any traveler headed through Oregon Do not miss out on a great nights sleep You’ll need it

Amanda Ramsay

Great experience and stay here This stay was our very first outing with our 4 month old, to attend our friend’s wedding It was uncomfortable traveling while the pandemic is still hanging around, but the hotel wasn’t packed so we were a little more comfortable walking around with our baby

I would recommend this to any friends or family visiting Salem The location is great since it is right off the highway and right by the Salem airport

This is our family’s preferred lodging in the Salem area The staff is friendly and very hospitable (Shout out to Misty who always makes our stay great!) The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable

The beds are great! For breakfast you get vouchers to Denny’s, which is different and fun The pool area is GREAT It is located in a quieter business area of a main thoroughfare (Mission Street) so you’re not more than 15 minutes from most anything in Salem Definite recommend

Melanie Calderon

Cannot say enough about how great the service was here Misty went above and beyond to help make our stay more comfortable and convenient for us We will for sure make this our go-to place in Salem

Beds and pillows were great, room was super nice and comfy Really quiet on 3rd floor!! Fresh cookies, water bottles in room Great free Denny’s breakfast

Kendrick Windham

The staff are very nice The housekeepers do well at keeping the place clean The building it’s self has been very clean

Staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, loved the pool! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we dealt with car issues, which was really nice I was having trouble with the handle to the room door, they sent someone from maintenance almost immediately Decor was super cute

Cannot praise more how helpful and friendly the staff wereAlso, I was in shock over the “continental” breakfast; they had eggs, chopped ham, waffle makers, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese, pastries, and more! I was expecting a banana and a pre-packaged muffin, so this was a delicious surpriseRight next door was a tap house and amazing food truck, which made for a convenient and delicious dinner as well Trader Joe’s and Rite Aid were also conveniently nearby

Jonathan Kleinow

Stayed here for a family memorial service The staff were super friendly and helpful The room was clean and in good condition, although this is an older hotel

The continental breakfast had a good variety of items, including some really tasty scrambled eggs My only critique: they need better wi-fi 3Mbps down / 15 Mbps up isn’t cutting it in 2022

The hotel staff was amazing especially the young man by the name of Brandon that I seen mainly at night He paused his duties without question to help my little family push a cart to our room with our luggage Having two children under three can be hectic and hard to get your luggage to the room

He made it very easy and was also one of the only ones besides front desk that acknowledged and said hello each time in passing We had an amazing stay and I enjoyed the gym and pool We sadly did not get to experience the restaurant First night it had closed at 10pm so we were going to try the next night and unfortunately they decided to close an hour early due to slow sales Did not even want to serve a shot or drink before completely closing Besides that the stay was amazing A thought to keep in mind when choosing where to stay If they have a restaurant ask for hours and ask if hours vary due to foot traffic/sales

Olaleye Abimfoluwa

Hotel is neat and well kept Bed was very comfortable tooI paid >$200 per night for a room and it came without breakfast

Very disappointing and unusual for Holiday Inn ExpressAlso, I had a delayed baggage issue with my airline and spoke with the front desk agent upon check out to have them call me and forward the luggage to my home address and not drop it off at the hotel Sadly, she did the exact opposite and had the bag delivered at the front desk That further complicated everything for meI simply had a disappointing stay here

Pat Cruse

Rooms small, overcrowded, couldn’t move about NO Breakfast, not even a coffee station Only two cups provided in the room, had to wash out to have a glass of wine

Said we would have to move When we made our reservation our profile distinctly says one bed King, but they said our request was put in as any standard room available Why have a profile Their Capitol Grill menu printed a burrito is $11; I can go to Denny’s and have a full breakfast for $10 I will not stay here again

Although our stay was unpleasant and rooms were filthy, I am giving another upgraded review for this motel because Kathryn Adair the manager was very patient and understanding with my wife’s dissatisfaction and handled it very well Good customer service like that is hard to find The place definitely needs cleaning but at least the staff was pleasant and understanding enough to work with us

That alone deserves my respect and admiration I am also sincerely sorry for my harsh comments that were left earlier Thanks again to management for your professionalism and excellent customer service

Joyce Miller

This place is clean and simple Their supplies are fine The reason I gave them a middle on service is because if you stay there longer than a week, they do not offer to come and clean the floors etc

They just drop off clean sheets and towels There aren’t brooms or cleaning things in the unit for you to use We had to go to the office and ask for a broom Otherwise the place and service is to a huge variety of clients and they are a good service and place

Anastasia Marshall

If I could give it a zero I would Checked in, got to the room, gagged as soon as the door opened Seriously smelled like something died in the room

Called the front desk, offered poor customer service They came up to the room and said well what would you like? I asked them if they’d sleep in that room and they shrugged their shoulders Took 40 minutes to figure out how to refund

Stayed at the Grand Hotel in Salem in February for a business trip The staff was wonderful, very professional and helpful The room was nice and comfortable

My kids enjoyed the pool a lot and it was nice to have access to a workout room as well The complementary breakfasts were tasty and included different hot and cold options to choose from The lobby was elegant and had nice velvet furnishings I will definitely stay here again!

Overall Score: 42/50Cleanliness: Great! You should feel more than safe to sleep here No immediate issues, nothing gross, and everything looked clean I checked all the sheets, the AC unit, bathroom floor, shower, toilet

all clean Does it feel 5-star clean? No, but that is purely due to aesthetic reasons The rooms feel dark and slightly dated, so that may not help (8/10)Service: Great! Do I feel like a king? No Do I feel important? Yes! They really do a great job at providing excellent service The complimentary breakfast and the service provided here was also great! (9/10)Quality: As I mentioned, this isn’t a 5-star hotel, but it’s definitely a wonderful place to post up whether it’s for a conference, a family road trip, or a work retreat Also, it’s in a quality location to explore Salem (9/10)Environment: The lobby is great and the overall environment is good Feels clean and classy Sure, some things feel slightly dated, but it’s still nice! (8/10)Uniqueness: Definitely a step up from the typical Best Western or some other similar brand It stands out against surrounding hotels, but it doesn’t reach the unique heights of the 5-star standard Still a great hotel! (8/10)

13 of us stayed at the Grand Hotel for a wine tasting/birthday weekend Brooke was awesome and handled our questions and reservations prior to our arrival Once there, everyone was very nice, accommodating, and helpful

I loved it here! Right off of the freeway, and many of the places were walking distance from the hotel Can keep an eye out on your car through the peephole if your park right in front of your room Staff were very friendly, chill, in good spirits, down to earth

Very accommodating too Very quiet at night and got some good sleep Only problems were the toilet seat being a bit small for me, and noise from the outside can be heard from the inside during the day, even with the door being completely shut closed Minor though I love Oregon 🦫

Terri S

I enjoy staying at this motel Even if I have to be on the second floor, I don’t mind the stairs too much They usually accommodate my disability if they have a room on the first floor

All the staff is super friendly They don’t bother me when I’m sleeping in late The rooms are mostly silent, so I don’t hear that crazy couple down the way having a good time It’s right by a Denny’s and Fred Meyer!

wasatchm

would of gave 5/5 but when i checked out (about 7:05 AM) I went to the breakfast area to grab whatever they had (muffins, cereal, pastries, etc) all I saw was juice and coffee I think the super 8’s are suppose to have more of a breakfast than that

they have excellent lighting across the entire property I felt very safe (as I did not arrive to check in till 9:30 PM)

Hotel was clean, rooms were older but maintained Pool and hot tub was ok Breakfast was absolutely horrible!! Don’t count on a good breakfast here or anything to drink with your “breakfast”

The biscuits were harder then a rock The eggs were dried out and the pancakes were hard Was here for a week and every day seemed to have similar issues They want you to pay for drinks here unlike a normal hotel that provides breakfast Didn’t even have water as an option

Michelle K.

Nothing special but a decent hotel Dropped my daughter off for a birthday sleep over The heated pool was decent sized and they have a hot tub which was the big attraction for party

The room had 2 queens and a couch that folded into a bed but they only used the beds, which were reported comfy Covered loading/unloading zone at front but could have done without the half eaten food at entrance on floor Front desk staff greeted when I entered but otherwise seemed uninterested in the comings and goings There was a some refreshments by the door so overall not bad Unsure the cost per night as I didn’t rent the rooms

I had to get a room very last minute, as in my mother called while I was 45 minutes away and on my way to the area I had a room somewhere else

but it wasn’t made for human habitation and Motel 6 should be ashamed My mom had no trouble reserving a room for me and goodness what a difference I felt like I was in the lap of luxury The woman at the front desk when I arrived was professional, no nonsense, and efficient She was like a rock I didn’t know I needed while I was an emotional wreck from all my drama I was in town for one night for a funeral in the morning The hotel was incredibly clean The breakfast selection looked delicious (I could only stomach something really small but it all looked yummy!) This place is really easy to get to from the freeway *and* it’s right next to a cluster of shopping and food options that includes an REI and a McDonald’s, but don’t worry – the hotel has a dedicated parking lot Giant windows and a dedicated panel A/C for better control of the temperature There is a gym and a pool I didn’t get a chance at but have no doubt they are lovely If you’re considering this place, there isn’t any reason not to stay here and many reasons to stay

David Lee

We had one reservation for 2 days using points in a 2 bed room and consecutively paid for a second reservation of 3 days in a 1 bed room Both rooms were spacious Hotel staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was consistently well stocked

The pool was very clean and empty The only issue was that we saw bugs in both rooms and the hallway The first room had a large bug in the bathroom and it went behind the mirror When it surfaced again, my daughter screamed We told the manager who was extremely apologetic An employee who overheard us talking asked if it was a spider or “potato” bug I said I thought it was a potato bug as it was large and round They commented that the heat (close to 90) was the likely cause In the second room (a few doors down from the first) the bug was above the bed This was unnerving and we all had trouble sleeping Again, other than bugs in both rooms, the hotel was greatOne additional note, the parking lot entrance is shared with the only In N Out Burger in Oregon The drive through is always crowded and occasionally very loud cars can be heard from the 4th floorThe area is fantastic with lots of food options and a Target (with curbside) less than a 2000 ft from the hotel

This Holiday Inn Express at Keizer/Salem OR looks brand new The king bed suite is as spacious as any I’ve seen Lots of user friendly features including the sink in the bathroom (A pet pieve of mine when hotels put the sink outside the bathroom in the living area)

Night light in bathroom, an extra lounge chair in addition to the sleeper sofa, foot stools under night stands, accent/mood lights above wardrobe Handy power outlets+++ Haven’t used any services yet, just checked in a few hours ago Great room at fair price so far

The furnishings and room are standard for a Residence Inn The bed is more comfortable than many Front desk staff is super friendly

The breakfast is pretty tasty with a decent assortment of food Unfortunately, the housekeeping is the least hospitable of any Residence Inn at which I’ve stayed I spend the vast majority of my time in hotels due to work (Diamond status for Hilton and Ambassador Elite for Marriott) so I get there have been some cutbacks because of Covid in most places, but housekeeping here is non-existent during your stay I stayed for 10 nights and had to specifically request any little thing I needed, including minor things like have the trash removed They do the bare minimum here Most hotels will at least do a room refresh every 4 or 5 days, but not here I work long, long days and don’t have the time or energy to micromanage the housekeeping I had planned on staying for another 10 days in March but will switch my reservation to a Hilton

Chrishna Stevens

Michelle at the front desk is amazing When I mentioned to her that there were a few things in the room not working she started doing all she could to get it fixed immediately even though I told her it was no big deal She would hear of it and insisted they would get on it right away, which they did

She was so kind and caring when our plans changed and we had to leave earlyNice breakfast and spacious rooms

Alicia Lerma

How would you feel if they charge you for 4 days instead of 1? 😡We checked our bank statement right after checking in and it was changed for 3 nights instead of 1 so we went back to the front desk to ask the manager for correct her mistake; she said could do anything so gave us the corporation’s phone number, when I called they told me to go back to the manager… 😡Well she didn’t help us told me to call again to corporation wich said they will refund it in 5-7 business days!Next day we check out as we should, later we checked our bank statement THEY CHARGED FOR ONE MORE NIGHT AGAIN !!!I’ve been calling numbers they referred me to another one everytime and NOBOBY has been able to help me and fix their mistakeI wonder if the mistake was to put credit for 5 nights in my debit card would be that hard to fix itTERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND CORPORATION

Loved this hotel! The beds were comfortable and I adored that they had full-size containers in the showers I would have loved a bathtub, but it wasn’t the end of the world without one The staff was extremely accommodating and took the time to find me and my family three rooms on the same floor

The pool was a ton of fun and the breakfast options were plentiful I will absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area

If I could, I’d give this hotel a 10 star review! This is the nicest hotel I have stayed in, ever! It is so clean, everything is always stocked and everyone is very quick to help you with anything you need Breakfast is tasty and they have a lot to choose from Pool and hot tub were under maintenance but they had someone in there working on it every day

Oh yeah, they also gave our dogs treats and were nice to them both Excellent place to stay, I recommend it 110% Thanks Best Western Premier! You are all amazing! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
