Overall what stands out the most is probably the service Staff were all efficient, polite and diligent We travelled with two small kids and the pool and room size were fantastic

The lobby is rather spacious, enough for energetic toddlers to run around and not be a huge problem My favorite part was probably the breakfast, especially Linda and Crystal They were very, very caring and great with the kids

I used a third-party for purchasing my hotel stay I was visiting my friend for the week and weekend, and the hotel did NOT deliver excellent service I was told the standard king room I requested online had a maintenance problem

The staff would not elaborate about why they couldn’t give me the room, until I had heard it from a manager later during my stay Then while I was there, I stepped in something small on the hotel room floor that looked like chocolate or poop I don’t know I took it to the front desk in a tissue No one did anything when I complained I also had to be in charge of throwing out my own hotel room garbage in front of the door Also all the other hotel rooms had their rooms cleaned while they stayed, but mine was NOT cleaned until we left Their excuse was that their housekeeping was short staffed I’m disappointed in the hotel and the travel website I used to book the room The breakfast was acceptable, but everything else wasn’t Best to go to a hotel that actually LISTENS and cares about excellent customer service Not a good hotel to pass through in Pittsburgh

Paul Martin

Extremely friendly staff Very clean room including the small details other hotels overlook or just do a poor job of cleaningI was an extremely late arrival

After a long day of travel, the front desk employee made check in easy and accommodated my stupid request after I had checked inThe only negative I can think of is a minor complaint at best One driveway is closed It’s not well marked and there is no clear direction on how to access the parking lot but it wasn’t that hard to figure out even though it was a very dark night and well after midnight It may have added two minutes into my arrival time See, minor issueI was here for business When I have to come back to our facility nearby, I will stay here again

Rosemarie Smith

I called several weeks in advance to confirm that I needed a handicapped walk in shower The desk person I spoke to said she made a note on our reservation When we arrived we were told no handicapped room was available

For 5 days we did not have the accommodation that we requested and paid for The manager was rude and uncaring of the situation She simply said we don’t look at the notes and that was that!!!Breakfast was good and the other staff was nice

I think the most appealing feature of this hotel, as if it isn’t good enough to have a pool and clean room, is the shuttle service they offer for guests Both nights we stayed they drove us from the hotel to a bar within 3 miles to Carson Street And Kim, the driver is absolutely amazing

So awesome If only they offered it every day of the week

Raj Kal

Hotel is right next to the train tracks and trains are plying all night and blast the horn when around the hotel I am not a light sleeper and yet could hear 5 trains pass by Beds are uncomfortable as they sag in the center

Sofa had gummies on them so it wasn’t cleaned They charge $22 for parking which is not advertised anywhereBreakfast was good

Cody Layman

The room we had was decent Our party of 3 fit nicely but there were no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch so we had to walk down to the front desk to retrieve them The yellow stains on the bed were hard to ignore but my wife slept on that side of the bed anyway

Upon exiting the 4th floor elivator where our room was located we were greeted by the rancid smell of a puke/sewage like substance that lingered the halls for our entire stay The indoor pool was located in the lower level and was as cold as an Alaskan ice rink but my 9 year old didn’t seem to mind The room was clean and quiet except for being located right beside a graffiti covered train track that seemed to have a train rolling down the line about once every 2 hours so it made sleeping a little difficult As for the continental breakfast it was your typical runt of the mill hard eggs and runny oatmeal that 90% of hotels offer Overall it wasn’t a bad experience but I think there are better options in the general area Also parking on site is $22 per day

This is a great hotel that just went under a complete makeover 100% top to bottomThe rooms are first class very clean with all new furniture, large soft towels and most importantly very quiet / safeJosh at the front desk goes above and beyond to make sure guest are taken care of

Jean S was a pleasure to work with as wellI travel 150+ days a year so I recognize top quality when I see itThis hotel has it 👍👍

Where do I start?

After their remodel, they’re now insanely expensive They’ve gone “TRENDY” Whats that mean, you ask? It means; no garbage cans in bathroom, or any real cans anywhere SUICIDALLY dark lighting in the rooms, but don’t worry, you’ll probably concuss yourself on the bathroom door because it blocks the hallway before you can slit yourself you have to close it to get out NO TABLES OF ANY KIND IN THE BATHROOM I had to put up the ironing board to set my stuff on God help you if you’re a female No towel racks because trendy things are trendyOH and if you can figure out how to set their trendy ac unit so it doesn’t blow hot air in the summer, you belong in MENSA Bathtub dirty, fridge iced over etc etcBOTTOM LINE; I’ve stayed there 4 or 5 times This is the last

Tarra Smith

The worse experience I have ever had! The management including staff and manager Carmen were not accommodating or willing to assist a large family with several young kids We booked online and when we showed up the hotel was under renovations with “pool” Online it states pool indoors

The manager didn’t even want to speak with me at first kept trying to speak over phone with staffing relay information Then they just kept showing us a websitethat is very difficult to navigate and yes at the very bottom after you reserve it satates “no pool” Staff was rude Staff was unsincerce I would never recommend this hotel!!!! 0/5 stars! Or better yet -5/5

Very nice hotel! The staff is extremely friendly – one of the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever met The rooms were very clean and nice Additionally, there was complimentary bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner

The rooms also felt very safe Each room had a lock safe to put valuables Additionally, the door had its primary lock, a dead bolt, and another lock as well Overall, great staff, lovely rooms, and very safe

Kylie Tokar

Lovely hotel with good views, simple but adequate accommodations, and a super accessible location It’s worth booking the parking package because the valet employees are super nice/prompt & parking is otherwise pretty tough My only major qualm was that we didn’t receive housekeeping due to the hotel’s COVID protocols, but none of the staff wore masks (a bit contradictory)

Ken Yeh

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any place They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area

I’ve been coming here for a very long time If you stay for a few days you for sure won’t be disappointedMy partner and I booked a night in this hotel last minute just as an escape from our hectic lives The rate was good and the room was very nice As someone who spent many years in hospitality I was impressed with the cleanliness and the staff The bed was super comfy and the shower was huuuuuge I would definitely stay here again

This is the one you want The staff was amazingly friendly, the room was very clean, and the process was just comfortable start to finishThe WiFi is capped at about 6mb, but it’s stable, so you’ll be happy if you’re the person hooking their laptop up to the TV for YouTube/Netflix

The breakfast isn’t worth it Go to the Burger King next door or Denny’s down the road if you don’t mind payingThere IS rail nearby, and I heard/felt it on the morning I left Pack a white noise machine from AmazonIt sounds like this was a mixed bag, but it really was great compared to other options in the neighborhood I’m sure there’s better/more expensive options in Pittsburgh, but this was close to the location of my meeting and I have no regrets whatsoever

Dolly Rose

Why was our stay great? Brandi! Your front desk, maintenance, hospitality, teaching, housekeeping, photography and asst manager Brandi took care of our every need from fixing broken lights, instructing us on TV and coffeepot usage, getting clean towels, making new keys (hourly?), and keeping that fire pit going! Stayed 3-4 nights with our kids and grands for family wedding, allcoming and going at all different hours Brandi helped us make this seamless

my husband said on the way home “I dont know what they pay her, but it’s not enough”The only thing she couldn’t fix was the unappetizing breakfast No hot eggs and meats anymore for Marriot customersjust prepackaged quiches and sandwiches served and heated in their wrappers, no cut fruit or yogurtjust green bananas, bruised wrapped apples, and tiny oranges Maybe you should hand one more thing to Brandi!

Stacy Craig

For a non smoking facility Our room stunk like old cigarette smoke I liked the room but the smell was over bearing

I’m glad it was only for one night stay I should have asked for a different room But, they looked like they were fully booked Our room was 405 If you reserve a room for here avoid that room Other than that the pool was warm and clean Breakfast was good also

10 STARS IF I COULDI love leaving reviews…especially being early on to leave a review since we literally checked in less than 2 hours ago I just feel it’s so necessary! Desiree and Nicole were extremely polite and very helpful and accommodating! I really appreciated when they offered to bring the extra towels and etc to our room These two definitely know what it means to offer customer service! I know that working in the customer service industry these days is a nightmare, so l am thankful and grateful that they both can still manage to makemy night better

Great hire manager They definitely deserve a raiseToo early to leave review for stay Keep you posted

I have been coming here for a long time If you stay for a few nights you for sure will love it I’m sure!My stay there was March 17-March 20 Although Our church group got there very late because of traffic coming from NC and had requested a handicapped room for me and it wasn’t I stayed in the room one night and the Guest Service Manager Josephine Jones was very apologetic for the mix up and right on moving us into a handicap room They offered to move everything out of one room to the next room Josephine is a very compassionate and thoughtful person I really enjoyed my stay and had all my concerns and needs met promptly…I also want to give a high five to the food service department Tamika Jordan lit up the dining room service with her smile and conversation… She was very hospitable, cheerful and funny I would definitely stay here again traveling north just to because of them making my stay so pleasant… Give theses Ladies a raise !!!

Staff was friendly and the surface lot parking was easy However, the room temperature was set at 58 degrees Took 3 hours to get it up to 72 degrees

The window shade would not close the final two feet The room layout was rather strange Room service is via an adjacent Restaurant and the Cobb salad I had was excellent And for you men out there, when you sit on the toilet your privates touch the water – yuck!

The hotel was nice but when my family and I walked in I was surprised that the front desk staff didn’t even greet us with a “Hi, how are you doing today?” Instead they just stared at us and made us feel uncomfortable The breakfast was lackluster and provided little to no healthy options besides an applePast that housekeeping did a great job

Stacey Phillips

The room was very clean and tidy Hot breakfast is not being offered Was surprised by the stoic receptionist at the front desk who didn’t bother to provide me with information regarding amenities offered by the hotel or even greet me upon check in

Upon checkout, the young lady at the front desk, failed to enquire from any guests leaving the premises about their stay Clearly this establishment does not value the patronage of its customers As I travel, I notice that the standards of Marriot brand that I have grown accustomed to are diminishing This is sad!

Most HI Express I have stayed at was very nice and this hotel is no exception

However my trip before this one I cut my finger on the top of the microwave It seems it has had a tabletop screwed to it at one point ,and there was a sharp point at the top It was minor to me so I had not bothered to mention it On this trip ,to same H I the heat did not work very well and room was a little cold first night The toilet leaked from the bottom and the tray that holds the complementary soap and shampoo had two chips out of it Curtains wouldn’t close properly, and the suite was a little in disrepair Shower walls had been cracked and halfway repaired The microwave tray was missing but worked okay Breakfast and cleanliness was excellent as always All the staff were very friendly and pleasant to meet

At this price point the rooms are exceptional I used priceline and got a weekday room rate of $89 The inn is pretty close to everywhere I wanted to be but if you want to go into town it’s a little out of the way

My son purchased a soda and sour patch kids and on each of the 3 times he purchased them the price was different $4, $5 & $6

Samhitha Kallem

Very disappointing staying here … I have stayed at Holiday Inn at different places … but this is worst The curtains were shredded The airconditioner didn’t keep the room cool atall

The tub drained and filled extremelyslowly DisappointingThey better improve the service their for their hotel to run good

Kind of expensive for what this place offers I am between two and three stars since this place is unfortunately nothing for those who are looking for a quiet place to stay The doors are not isolated, so light comes through in the night, noise and cold from outside

Very thin walls and connecting doors in some rooms do not avoid to hear the TV or conversations next door We had to move three times till we found a silent room (staff very comprehensive) Families with children seemed to love this place, so beware 😅 ACs are very silent, and it’s very clean here This is an older hotel so not every room is in super shape but the beds and pillows are super comfy Bathrooms very clean Nice shower care productsGood coffee any time available, okay breakfast

jesus andujar

Good stay Very clean when entering the room Breakfast is very good, especially biscuits and gravy! Only downfall is we stayed 2 nights and they did not change our sheets and pillow cases after the first night

Our child put dirty throw up clothes on the sheets and pillow, and it was clearly visible, so we had to sleep the second night with dirty sheets I believe sheets have to be changed everyday unless told not to… but other than that, i would stay again

James Paponetti

Rooms overall were nice and clean as well as the beds being comfortable The staff were extremely helpful and nice and always smiled which people sometimes often forget to do this day in age! A couple things to point out was that the coffee maker in our room didn’t even close as well as there being possibly blood in the tub in our bathroom Pool was decent as well

Perfect stop for any traveler! I showed up late after driving all day, only to enter the beautiful oasis that is Traveler’s Rest Using contactless check-in, I let myself into my room (the super affordable bunker room!) where I slept comfortably the whole night I woke in the morning to fresh coffee and pastries and good conversation, before continuing my journey

Anyone needing a place to crash for a night will find a haven at Traveler’s Rest, but the beautiful building and great company will make you want to stay longer!!

This was our first stay at a bed & breakfast and I have to say Ed sat the bar high! The Inn is beautiful and breakfast was perfect! Purchase a room for a visit from my daughter She loved the room It had a king sized bed ,a couch, a refrigerator, and a microwave

The room was very spacious and clean The young gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and entertaining There is not a lot of parking here It is a little hard to see the entrance ,and you can pass it if you’re not paying attention There’s a nice continental breakfast in the morning Overall I would recommend this place

We have stayed here about five times now Beautiful place Staff is awesome

But this time the room we stayed in which is the only room we have ever stayed in is really falling apart Water stains on the ceiling where the hot tub is, numerous areas that have been spackled and not finished Light fixture in shower coming down from ceiling Edge of coffee table on two sides torn off Just really bad for the amount of money we paid Also on Sunday at around 8:30am the room above us was having construction done to it hammering banging loud sounds sounded like stomping I said said to the desk clerk who apologized for the noise she said she would let them know She was very nice and concerned about my complaint Beautiful place but really falling apart it’s sad it was only built in 2008

stayed here for a mini trip in pittsburgh and it was so great! this was roughly the same price as hotels nearby but it’s so much more worth it because you get an entire apartment there was a kitchen with dishes, silverware, dish soap, etc it was very clean, in a great location, and the staff at the front desk were so nice and made my stay so easy

loved that there was a rite aid right next to it parking in the garage attached was $30 a night which wasn’t too bad giving air bnb vibes but it’s a hotel

Etage was truly a wonderful lodging experience in Downtown Pittsburgh Communication by staff when calling prior to my stay was lovely Check-in was a breeze

On-site staff was kind and accommodating The lodging itself exceeded expectation by being large with a full kitchen set-up and fun colored lighting by the bed The views were fab, and featured a view of the valley and PPG PlaceWill definitely stay here on future travel to Pittsburgh! xo

The view associated with these apartments were EXCELLENT! Management and staff were respectful and courteous Mr Shakur went above and beyond the call of duty,we truly appreciated him helping us with the questions we had

Also,I like the fact that they have a flat rate for parking and how the location is within walking distance to all the food spots and tequila bars😁

Wow So disappointedOur reservation, made months in advance, was changed without notice, leaving us short on rooms for a family get-together

Suites were dusty Wifi went down at one point Carpets weren’t clean Keys didn’t work Mattresses were saggy And, two credit cards were compromised after being left in a room for the dayCome on, Marriott You can do betterI’m giving it two stars because at least the manager and desk clerks were polite and tried to help

It was good Christine at the front desk was amazing and gave us so many restaurant recommendations! However, the room was not very clean to Marriott standards and the couch had some very questionable stains on it which I would not sit on I even tried flipping the cushions but they were on both sides

The bed was comfortable and very good water pressure Breakfast was good

Customer service was and is always outstanding We have stayed at this hotel for years when coming home to visit family I’m retired military and my son is active duty

He and my granddaughter arrived early on our last visit and the staff was very accommodating in getting them a room close to us Breakfast was very good and the area was very clean Once agian, all hotel staff personnel were friendly and very attentive Big hit for us were the room(s) this visit Curtains/shades had large cuts and red stains all over them, floors were greasy and slippery in kitchen and bathroom area, etc (Big decline)If the rooms and some of the common/hallway areas get a make over/cleaned up that would improve your ratings and prevent us from seeking another hotel with better/cleaner accommodations I hope you make these suggested modifications because we really do love staying at the this hotel

Overall, I would have to say that I was very disappointed in our stay at their hotel My son and I were just there for a baseball tournament and we stayed at their hotel When we arrived, there was a sign on the front desk stating that the pool was closed (nice feature and part of our decision to stay there with a baseball team needing to unwind between games)

I inquired and they said it would be fixed and ready to go the next day We found out later that evening it wouldn’t be fixed until Monday after we were gone They offered no form of apologies or compensation for thisNext, I called and asked if they could send up sheets and a pillow for the pull out sofa (used to be standard in the room or hospitality would send it up) and they told me to come and get it from the front deskFinally, our room had a kitchenette and I found it curios that there were limited plates and utensils in the cabinet I looked in the dishwasher and found it full with water and grime sitting in the cups and bowls (ones which were not upside down to allow the water to drain) I found this disturbing because I have no idea how long they were sitting there and would not use themI don’t think I would stay at this particular hotel again!
