Staying 6 nights and No frying pans to cook food, 1 small plate, 2 bowls, no spoons, 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 butter knife, no utensils to cook food, no containers to store my left overs in the fridge This would be fine if I was here for 1 night but for people checking in for 5 plus days you should put them in rooms with more of these items if you know you have rooms without these items I would also highly consider buying some more of these cooking/eating utensils and just add stuff to each room that needs it

I’m sure you can get a deal on these items being a nationwide hotel chain and add these items to the rooms running low The front desk clerk had to go to 2 other empty rooms to get me what I needed and I still have to buy my own storage containers for left overs Not what I expected from a candlewood This is gonna be a long 6 nights with 1 utensil to cook with

I stayed at this hotel 6 years ago, and absolutely loved it It is in a nice safe , quiet area and is several blocks from a shopping area The rooms have kitchenettes with dishes

The amenities, customer service, quality of rooms, cleanliness, and price are excellentI highly recommend this place

Caitlin Dare Mallory-Jett

The phone number listed on their website for the front desk does not work I was just trying to call ahead on a road trip to book a room and I was hung up on immediately, then when I tried calling back several more times the line was busy No way to get to an actual person at all

If you’re brave enough you can call their 1-800 number for “reservations”, run the gauntlet of sccarine robot ladies, threatened with text messaging, then finally get placed on hold for what I assume might be a real human I wouldn’t know, I gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes I just need a place to sleep that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, why make it so difficult?!

Just finished a three night stay with a youth group of 100! This hotel far surpassed my expectations The suites were clean and spacious The kitchens were fully stocked

The breakfast area was large and comfortable with plenty of room I’m picky about my breakfast items, and the selection was large and the eggs were real! The staff went above and beyond making sure our stay was comfortable I highly recommend this location as well as other Residence Inns

Rayleen Pirnie

Stayed here based on location and needed a suite with a pull-out bed but the next time we need a suite in the area we will book elsewhere Overall a very old, used feel to the room, along with an odd smell and VERY noisy fridge that disrupted sleep They need a remodel

Wouldn’t use the pull out part of the sofa-bed due to a big, black nasty spot in the middle of the mattress that looked like mold (just slept on the couch instead) Breakfast was ‘meh’ at best Nice staff

Mauricio Flores

Room was great, ladies at breakfast great Everything went down when I requested full housekeeping in my room since my stay was for 8 nights they do it for you I scheduled after my 4th night

The surprised came when I came to my room after a long day of work at 8pm, and my room still not cleaned I visit the front desk and told the guy that my room was not cleaned, he apologized and told me that for sure the next day was going to be clean Well, the same story repeats on my 5th and my 6th night They never came to my room to be cleaned after every person at front desk promise it was going to be ready the next day It’s not gratifying when you get to your room after a 12 hours shift at work, tired and find your room undoneParking needs to be expanded, all parking slot were taking when I came back from work at night

Seems near everything but they don’t have a shuttle which is a huge inconvenience as while they’re technically near everything you can’t walk My room wasn’t clean as there were hairs I didn’t own in the bathroom but I didn’t feel like dealing with a switch being there for 1 night Breakfast was good

Common areas were clean and the staff was kind

Darren Bachand

A wonderful experience, the staff made me feel at home prior to shift change Mary was wonderful and all around helpful Keimon the night shift worker was an amazing help as well and it was good talking to both of them My ultimate goal was to make the wife comfortable after coming from KU and the rooms are perfect for that

Coming from a different place this hotel made me feel the most at home

This location accommodated our entire softball team for a week, setting up a block of rooms was a snap! The rooms were sizable and very clean! All of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful, there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for our group, including providing complimentary breakfast every morning without us even asking! The location was also great, super easy to hop on the interstate and many restaurants close by Nice pool & bar area to relax in This was a top notch stay!

Kylene Littrel

The beds were insanely hard I only give it two stars because the staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean The main thing I look for in a hotel is my ability to sleep comfortably and that did not happen

I even tried sleeping on the couch which was more comfortable than the bed Also, paying an extra $10 per person for breakfast is ridiculous

I had the opportunity to stay at this property on a business trip and I was pleased with the overall quality of the stay Customer service is outstanding and truly lives up to the Hilton standard The rooms appears to have been recently renovated and the cleanliness throughly the property from the roomItself to all public areas was excellent

Breakfast was also very good with a nice variety of options and hot breakfast items The only thing that was disappointing was the climate control in the room It was quite warm even when setting the AC to the lowest temperature setting and the fan on high mode I think this may be the byproduct of the older building infrastructure If the AC worked better in the room, this would easily have been a 5 star review

Dan V

When we stayed at this hotel there was two soccer teams here so a lot of people Tom and his staff made sure everything was always clean and stocked The breakfast was great and they were never out of any food

Common areas were always clean I was really impressed on how clean and friendly everyone at this hotel was Will definitely stay here again

Mary Carr

Nice staff, clean and decent location for the Country Club Plaza area I noticed the breakfast was good (hot, clean, taste good and really good quality apples!) They also had a “Happy Travels” to go bag with water, granola bar, apple and muffin when I checked out

VERY NICEThere was a loud toilet in the room and an odd tapping from outside during the evening

Stayed here for one night, twice, in a two-week time frame We like the large suites with a full kitchen, as our family of five does long road trips with a cooler full of food for picnics, and the in-suite refrigerators are very useful The sofa bed is also helpful for the kids to sleep on

This Homewood Suites property is good for what it is It’s relatively clean (hallway and elevator carpeting could really use a deep, deep cleaning or total replacement) The breakfast options are good, the pool is very well-maintained, and the service is friendly It’s very close to I-435 and in a relatively safe area There are plenty of dining and shopping options around the area, tooWe’d definitely come back

HH N

The hotel is clean and layout of the suites is great for families Kitchen is great to have We were a little disappointed that the decor appeared more dated than online photos show and furniture was scuffed up

Other Homewood Suites we have stayed at have been more plush looking The staff was very nice Breakfast was good, but they need to turn the heat up on the steam tables a bit to keep the food warm enough We had a lot of noise from a bunch of kids overhead, but I think that is the luck of the draw anywhere you go Really liked the convenience of their app keys and check-in/out Fitness room was small but had the basics

Brittney Belew

Staff was amazing!Elevator was very scary, didn’t want to open nor close it definitely gave us some trouble when we first arrivedPool was closed- kids were sadThe room itself deserves a 5 star rating! Their is 5 of us and it made us feel at home in this apartment suiteThe only reason I give it a 3 star because for the price of over 250 for one night the pool and elevator should not have any issues in our eyes

Thank you for making my family feel safe and cozy

My wife and I travel A LOT, and we’re always looking for the best complimentary breakfast Today we found it The chef, Joel, had the eggs and bacon cooked perfectly, pre-made Belgian waffles were delicious, and 6 different cereals to pick from (including granola, my favorite)

My coffee was on point and they had 4 different pre-bottled milks to pick from: skim, 2%, low fat chocolate, and OAT MILK!Fun fact, apparently Joel the Chef works maintenance but steps in for breakfast on the weekend I’m so glad we caught him on the weekend He made our stay!

Great location if you need to be by KU MEDICAL hospital You are within s couple minutes of med services The staff was courteous and helpful

The beds were so comfy and the breakfast was diverse enough to meet all needs It offers a medical discount if you have to be at the hospital Pricey but you can literally walk out the door and there are restaurants so you do not have to drive anywhere to go eat

Stayed here two nights while touring Kansas City Good stay overall Staff were super friendly and helpful

Room was comfortable and spacious, beds were soft, there were plenty of outlets and the WiFi worked reasonably well Bathroom was clean and the appliances worked wellBreakfast was good, parking was good, and there were several good restaurants in walking distance Short drives to several good bbq places tooOnly downside was they don’t answer their phones and there’s no message system

New facility, clean in every way, but

the beds were so hard I could not sleep My husband likes a firm bed so he liked it I love the idea of having shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser in the shower but they did not check them and we ran out after 2 showers (5 people staying for 2 nights) There was plenty of room for all our luggage I liked the sliding door between entry and beds, it allowed privacy for changing Staff was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was good, you had to microwave the items you wanted so they weren’t hot and ready to eat Pancake maker was a big hit with the kids!

George

New hotel on the outskirts of town Nice facilities with good ambiance Selection of breakfast wasn’t the greatest even though there was some minor rotation of items during my 3-night stay

Bed was a bit soft and somehow the room felt damp despite the drying effects of the AC Despite minor imperfections, the hotel was a comfortable space to relax in, and the price point of around $140 a night made it easily the best overall option

Their rooms are really awesome with great space Kitchenettes, which come in super handy when trying to save and feed kids Absolutely love the bathroom essentials they provide

Not tiny bottles! The staff seemed tired but were welcoming They have a lending locker for games and a small store for snacks and such They do have onsite laundry and a gym No pool which stinks Also no creamer available for the 24 hour available free coffee (can’t drink coffee without a little creamer) Location is right off the main highway into Kansas City

Carrie Raper

Most everything was great although we had to wait around 10 minutes for the front desk clerk to get off of the phone with a disgruntled person before we could check in The only other issue I had with our stay was there were no cups in the room I understand why regular cups, silverware, & dishes are not available due to Covid safety concerns, however disposable ones could be made available

Other hotels we have stayed at had plastic wrapped disposable cups in the bathroom so I know they are available Otherwise everything was great!

Front desk staff was friendly enough Breakfast and a pool offered (I didn’t end up using either) but the room itself sucked The fridge in the room did not keep items cold, and the condenser in the fridge leaked water onto the floor

The room had a mildew smell The AC unit was loud enough that my partner was unable to sleep Our room had a king bed, and the pillows offered are smaller sized, almost throw pillows, and not large enough for the bed provided The shower did not have a water resistant inner curtain, so all of the shower water soaked the curtain and pooled onto the floor The smoke detector (I believe? Maybe C02) needed a new battery that caused a flash in the room The TV in the room had weird lighting issues going on where I could see bulbs behind the screen Also, for two people in a room, only three bath towels were provided That did not leave anything to put on the bathroom floor to try and dry up the water (I need one for my body and one for my hair, my partner used one for his body)We ended up leaving a night early to avoid these issues for a second night I brought these issues up to front desk staff hoping for a full/partial refund for the second night, and the staff member listened to my complaints but didn’t offer anything for the poor room condition/experienceAlso, hotel is close to an industrial district so loud trucks move material nearby The sound is loud and travels into the room

Xander Walsh

Will never stay at another Best Western or Wyndham hotel again I made a booking error and asked about getting it corrected I was polite, never raised my voice, never demanded anything

The GM Pam was immediately rude, short with me, called me a jerk, said I was blackmailing her, and hung up on me I just wanted simple change made They’re keeping my money and refusing to help If you ever need something from this hotel they’re likely incapable of helping you After how I was spoken to by the GM and Best Westerns refusal to do anything they have lost my business forever I hope it was worth the $100

electric buzzard

I hate to give such a low review to a Plus location, but this hotel really felt like a standard BW with a few half-baked cosmetic tweaks That would have given it four stars

however, for some reason, my room was very humid and literally felt “wet” at times I’d leave my baseball cap on the table and it would be legitimately wet in the AM My towels didn’t really dry when hanging in the bathroom eitherOverall, the bed and my sleep was good, and the AC worked like a champ – I like my hotels cold, and that did the trick The staff was friendly, tooI hate to say it but due to the very average rooms that manifest themselves as nicer than they are, I won’t return here when I am in Olathe

I was here for an all day meeting So I did not experience the rooms, but the conference room was small and quaint The room was small and perfect for our group but would not fit a group of more than 15

The service was great that they provided throughout the day Lunch was included with our meeting, and while the service was lovely, the food they served us was bland and I was wondering if the chef who prepared it had a spice cabinet because the soup, the pasta salad, the chips, all lacked flavor and the sandwiches all had unusual sauces that were unappealing But besides that the day was very nice

Brandi Ruckel

Giving a three star review solely because of the cleanliness of my room A job well done to your housekeepersCheck-in was fairly quick, Which I can appreciate for the most part

Except I wouldn’t know a single thing about the hotel or the area had I not asked multiple questions during said checkinMinimal information was provided regarding the hotels, amenities, facilities, location, housekeeping services, etcFurthermore the next morning on my way out of the hotel I stopped by the front desk to ask if someone could replace 3 light bulbs throughout my room that were burnt out ( The desk lamp, the night stand lamp, and one of the wall sconces in the bathroom) I was told then by the Front Desk , “I can’t promise I can get it all fixed but I’ll try”…( I mean if you just wanted to leave the bulbs in my room I would have done it…) but regardless I never received lightbulbs to replace and no one ever came up to the room to replace themMy rooms keys stopped working 3 times and counting, and all 3 times when I went to the front desk to ask for new keys, they were handed over to me with out verifying a last name or even doing an ID check at allIn fact the only thing asked, was for the room numberOverall the hotel itself was nice and looks clean It’s somewhat dated but once again the cleanliness of my room is more important to me and more than makes up for the out dated decorAnd in my opinion The team members at this location could certainly benefit from a brand standard and customer service workshop

Mr. E

It’s a decent hotel but it does have some big issues It advertises queen beds, few pillows and the breakfast They are not queen

They are the size of a full bed The beds also only have 3 pillows and when I request more I was told they will only give 1 additional pillow per room Not the breakfast I paid for the package with breakfast yet when I went to breakfast I was told I would have to pay additional for breakfast Don’t pay for it, go to a good restaurant instead of an average one Also I was charged for taking the water in the fridge, that I never took Never even opened the fridge as I have a plugin cooler with all my drinks/food I called and they fixed it after lots of attitude

My husband, children, and I stayed here while enjoying a weekend getaway We checked in late Thursday night While going through our bedtime routine with our kids I noticed that the shower was not working well at all

When the tab was pulled the water continue to come out of the bottom tap and so there was almost no water pressure at the shower head I noticed that the tile around the water spicket was cracked as were our mirror sliding doors The room itself was clean The bedding had some piling, but nothing smelled bad and there was no dust There was not a blanket for the pull-out couch bed and we only were given three towels, but that was quickly rectified with a trip downstairs We slept well The blackout curtains work great and there was very minimal noise for being so close to a train track The next morning I mentioned the issue with the shower and they told me they put it in for maintenance and to just leave the “Do not Disturb” off the door and it would be repaired The breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about, the usual waffles, eggs, a breakfast meat-type fair The people running it however were quite lovely The Friday we came back from our activities and the shower still had not been repaired In addition, I noticed one of the light bulbs was out in the bathroom causing a strobe-like effect when it was turned on We went down to the pool and enjoyed swimming for a while The hot tub is not available for use right now The pool is great for kids We got the kids cleaned off and ready for bed and went about our nighttime routine That Saturday I made sure to go back to the front desk and tell them again that the shower was still not working and also the light was out and could they please ask the cleaners to go through the room My children had gotten some crackers on the floor around the bed and I was not able to clean them up completely When we got back on Saturday they had repaired the shower partially It was definitely much more functional The light bulb was still out And while they had made our bed the crackers or still on the ground Sunday morning we checked out The people working were nice and professional The location was ideal for getting around different places in Kansas City The hotel definitely needs to be updated when it comes to repairing some of the things that are broken rather than just patching them

Janet

From check-in to check-out we had a great stay Our room wasn’t fancy, but it was clean and comfortable We both slept well

Breakfast was fresh and proper temperature The lady stocking the breakfast area was very helpful when I had allergen questions about the prepared food Future trips to KC, this will be my first choice for hotels

The people were very nice The location was fantastic to get to chemo The room itself was a little past its prime

There were black spots on the ceiling and I could not close the drapes because of the heater location The room itself was extremely cleanI did not hear any trains running overnight The breakfast was good and the attendent was very helpful

Front desk attendant wasn’t the friendliest but I’m not there to make friends Nice hotel I liked how there was 1 entrance to 6 rooms and front and back entrance for second floor rooms

Made it so that not many people had to pass my door and excite my fur babies Very spacious suite Had all of the benefits of an apartment Unfortunately there was construction going on during my stay but that’s outside of their control and really only made parking access challenging Will be staying here again

Pros: Breakfast had iced coffee, rooms very clean and spacious Great location All staff were beyond friendly! Always saying hello and good morning

Cons: my entire floor smelt horrible like fish even a day later Not really hotels fault people can cook in their room Shower luke warm, bedding was good but mattress was very hard Parking garage had like 20 spots for the entire hotel and it was pretty dark and sketchy

The location is great the free parking is awesome rooms are a little old Front desk staff is extremely unhelpful and argumentative Had conversations with staff on phone before booking rooms to make sure we had what we needed from this location

Once we got there and discussed it with them all they had to say to us was “that’s interesting” Pretty useless They also felt the need two lecturers on how to use a gift card after once again we had asked for how to use the gift card over the phone before arriving at the location and were given instructions on how to proceed We knew we’d be in for an argument even before arriving at the front desk due to the previous engagements with them On the other hand the staff that runs the morning breakfast we’re outstanding super friendly always said good morning and seemed happy to be there

PROS:Hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and engaging!Ended up wanting to stay an extra night because we loved our two-story room!!Daughter had a blast having “her own apartment” as she slept on the sofa bed and had access to her “own” bathroom and kitchenetteThe stairs lead up to the most wonderful little loft with a well-made bed, a large bathroom with dual sinks and a very nicely shaped shower, and the green tea/aloe scented soaps are quite nice The entire room was incredibly clean, which we appreciated after departing a different hotel whose rooms were just not up to standard in cleanliness by any means

This was the complete opposite of that experience and we were thrilled!By far the nicest amenity: the in-room jetted tub was an absolute delight Very well cleaned and maintained, though louder than I expected and I expected very, very loud :PCONS: literally nothing that would discount a star or the experience!Only wish the pool was warmer and that the ‘jacuzzi’ was open but did see them performing maintenance on each during the course of our stay so I know they were doing their best and did appreciate the efforts :)Breakfast was a smidge confusing each morning, sort of a “fend-for-yourself” situation where you’d expect a line or for folks to at least supervise their kids to make sure they aren’t messing with folks’ wheelchairs Ended up just ordering to the room the last dayBTW Make sure your delivery driver knows the name of this hotel, but even if you tell them four times they will probably still go to the Hilton Garden Inn and leave your food in front of a strangers’ door XD

Front desk staff was nice Room was spacious like all residence inns The bed was like sleeping on a granite slab

I switched to all marriot when travel started up again for all my business travel because they usually have the best beds Not so in this case When traveling with my family I choose residence inns because of their pet friendly policies I was met first thing in the morning by the “night auditor” that rudely told me our dog could not walk through the flowers because it would kill them This facility had 100% dead grass, no landscape maintenance for years, and is falling apart everywhere Our dog in the flowerbed was the most watering this place has had in a decade! The management of this hotel should probably look for a better customer facing employee This guy has no business interacting with your customers He wasn’t even wearing a uniform, name tag, or any indicator that he was a hotel representative either

Room smelled like stale cigarettes in a non-smoking property, what was supposed to be a king bed was definitely a queen, and there was nobody at the front desk multiple times I tried to get a hold of somebody, when I needed to get bedding for the pull-out and when we were trying to check out Breakfast was an absolute mess barely anything was ready, most of their catering warmers were out of service so they were using off-the-shelf crockpots Basically the only things available were biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, or limited pastries because most of those were out too

This wasn’t a time thing, we went back an hour later and it was the same

First off this hotel is absolutely nasty Stains all over the carpets and bed sheets Second they charged my credit card for $101

51 after I had already paid for my room through hotwire I tried calling this hotel 30 times and only got through once When I spoke with someone at the front desk they said the charge would be reversed and 2 days later the charge still appears on my credit card I would recommend that everyone stay away from this hotel

This was an excellent place to stay Most places lately are a let down with customer service, but I am happy to say that is not the case for this staff! They checked all of the great customer service boxes, from the front desk staff to the wait staff in the dining room! Then there was the amazing breakfast they offer in the morning It was quite a spread and omelettes made to order as well

Again this was an excellent pick!

By far, the Worst Embassy Suites we’ve been to and we’ve stayed at many all over the country Even the ES in Overland Park that is so much older is run better than this one For any sports teams visiting KC for tournaments, STAY AWAY from this

The hotel only cares about rooms sales and they do not care or welcome their guests 1 There’s no coffee after 9:30AM There’s no coffee shop or cold drink, tea or smoothie place at the hotel at all Never seen such an empty bare hotel Guests have to drive a distance to get a drink Even Hilton Garden Inn has cold iced water, tea and coffee pots placed throughout the day in the lobby Here – nothing 2 All hotels typically when they have guests and busy weekend accommodate with food and drink service There are at least 100 rooms taken during this weekend for softball tournament just from our club Parents and kids eating at the restaurant last night, watching Stanley Cup playoff game The restaurant is full, people ordering food and drinks from 5pm, tens of thousands of dollars to be made in revenue this weekend The lady working at the hotel restaurant literally turns off the TV at 10pm and basically tells everyone to leave because they’re closed People are still eating their food and having their drinks, she hands them the bills and demands they pay immediately because they’re closed Never seen anything like this All the hotels we’ve stayed at, accommodate their busy weekends of guests by staying hour or so to wrap it up 3 The rooms are very small, no room for luggage, the drawers are so small, can only fit Barbie clothes The plumbing is terrible with sinks not draining, water pressure so low that cannot even wash your hands STAY AWAY from ES Olathe!! Take your money elsewhere! There are tons of hotels in the area esp Overland Park that know how to operate and accommodate busy weekends of full capacity and treat guests with good customer service
