I needed to return to Waterloo with my sons for a funeral and chose this location Room was small but functional and served us well Beds were comfortable, AC/heating served the room size well and the service was excellent

My sons said the breakfast spread, availability and choice of food was the best they have seen We were very pleased with the service and all aspects of our short stay and we appreciate the attention that you extend to your patrons When next we need to overstay in Waterloo, this will be our choice

Jennifer A’Court

We had a nice clean room Everything was in good working order We didn’t use the pool or other amenities so can’t speak to that

Breakfast was included which consists of scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, hashbrowns (potatoes), cold hard boiled eggs, bagels/bread, make your own waffle (one machine), cereals and the usual coffee/tea and a juiceStaff were attentive and politeWe enjoyed our stay We stay in the area once a year and I preferred this hotel to Days Inn or Super 8 in Guelph

Rob K (Oneburtonfan31)

I don’t normally write reviews However I felt I needed to about this hotel Long wait and a delayed check in for a terrible room

I went to my room key cards did not work had to go back to the front desk to have them reprogrammed This was ongoing for my full 2 days of staying at the hotel Broken knob on the toilet, hair all over the bathroom Stains on the sheets and on the comforters Air conditioner did not work And the list goes on Buffet was satisfactory However running out of everything constantly and the place really wasn’t that busy Garbage cans were overflowing nobody clearing tablesLike I said I’m not one to write reviews and I’m pretty easy going person but this place was absolutely terrible I would never never go back and would not recommend this place

What a great find! This hotel is ideally located in downtown Guelph near lots of restaurantsYou go into the Western restaurant to get your key fob and room code You park in the municipal lot next door for cheap to free depending on when you enter and leave

The rooms are spacious, with a full kitchen AC works great and the beds were comfy And the price was way better than the big chains in the area!

Robin M

Good luck with sleep It sounded like you were in college dorms College bros were out in the hall shouting and blasting music after bars closed

The room itself wasn’t great either The sheets smelled weird, the AC sounded like a jet engine starting up, and there was a radiator right behind the couchThe only good part was that it was close to restaurants and the train

We stayed one night at the Kitchener Inn and Suites The best part of our stay was the friendliness of the staff The room was mostly clean besides dirty bed skirts and a dark liquid sprayed on the walls beside the bed

The most disappointing part of our stay was having our car hit in the parking lot This hotel has many cameras outside that would’ve caught the crime but apparently they have been disconnected since covidAfter reading reviews I see that I am not the only person this has happened to You would think after already having a guest fall victim to hit and run the hotel would make efforts to increase security for their guestsI completely understand that we park at our own risk This was also no fault to the front desk clerk, she was extremely apologetic This is clearly a management problem, apparently safety of guests belongings ranks low on the priority listLikely would not stay here again and would instead opt for a more professional establishmentHopefully I don’t receive a response from the owner blaming me for this like everyone else has who was unhappy

Peter Del Rosso

The room was excellent, service for our check in on July 1st was amazing Upon checking out, I saw that my car had been hit by someone in the parking lot, leaving several deep scratches I went to the front desk to ask if they had cameras, so I could see who had hit my car, and was confronted by the receptionist who clearly had very little interest in helping, simply stating that the cameras had been unhooked some two years ago

Essentially, the parking lot is unwatched despite the appearance of the cameras, and you run the risk of getting hit in their lot Pretty pathetic if you ask me, seeing as I paid 250 dollars to stay the night only to get my car hit

abimz oyad

Stayed there 2021 July The facility was fair but the people were Horrible with a capital H The receptionist had very poor command of English, he was frail, old and ill tempered

Asked to speak to the manager several times, he never showed up, never called back, never caredDon’t be deceived by the picture of the reception because that was my own pitfallThey are most definitely not worth it

We stayed here on April 1st for a dance competition Front desk staff were courteous and professional The room was so clean you could smell how clean as soon as you opened the door

Rooms look like they are updated and space was great for 2 adults and 2 teens Little pull out table was perfect for eating breakfast in the room and the small fridge was great to have Beds were comfy Just a short walk to St Jacob’s market and there are lots of restaurants and grocery a few minute drive away

Connie Porter

Extremely friendly, helpful and efficiently smooth check in Didn’t have a credit card No problem

Used my debit card to pay for the room No problem They took in two adults, a wheelchair bound child and a dog Hampton Inn &Suites by Hilton wouldn’t accept debit plus deposit and kicked everyone out of their booked room after 9:00pm on a Friday evening Thank you Courtyard of the Marriott for humanizing our booking

Very recently renovated, with large, very well cleaned rooms Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful – Jed at the front desk, and Ann Marie and the housekeeping staff, are genuinely proud of their work They have good reason to be! I’ve stayed in a lot of Courtyard Marriott properties, because I find them reliable – but I’d stay at this one by choice

My family and I stayed at this hotel for three days and two nights The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful The hotel was really clean and it is situated in a perfect area

Close to the St Jacobs farmers market, the main street of St Jacobs and a relaxing drive in the beautiful countryside It is right across the road from the St Jacobs theatre The free breakfast each morning was delicious and the dining area for this was abnormally spacious We unplugged, had a magnificent stay and can’t wait to go back

We stayed at the hotel for nine weeks while we were out of our park The staff were extremely accommodating and very friendly The pool and exercise room was a huge bonus

Enamoured with the wonderful hotel My room had 2 big windows which made watching the storm quite enjoyable There was also a gigantic work station that was simply but tastefully decorated

My bed was comfortable The bathroom was large and the shower had excellent water pressure THE REAL STAR of this stay was the outstanding breakfast buffet I’ve never been so impressed by a hotel breakfast It was so elegantly organized and the food was sensational

Mike and Lana

The room was large and VERY clean Our booking included free buffet breakfast and was more than we expected, great variety and tasty Emily served us and was exceptional

Had lunch in the restaurant twicee an the French fries are not to be missed!Added bonus was free charging for our electric vehicleHighly recommend this property

Sabrina Stewart

Check in was easy The hotel is clean and rooms are a decent size and up to date My boy complaint is that our air conditioner was broken in our room

They sent maintenance to have a look but could not fixed it We had booked 2 rooms next to each on our reservation When they realized they couldn’t fix the AC they offered to move us, I explained that both rooms needed to be next to each other The front desk employee said she could move some rooms around and for us to pack up our stuff and go down to swap out keys We cleared out of the room and and when we went down to switch our keys she explained that she had made a mistake and they did not actually have enough rooms available to move us So she had completely lied and made us pack up for no reason! We then had to endure 2 blazing hot days with no AC They did discount the room when we complained again Other than that it’s a decent place to stay

We expected so much more We arrived to limited parking and no lighting Reception was friendly but it was downhill from there

We arrived and couldn’t find a switch to turn on the lights We had to walk in darkness to turn on each light individually Thermostat was a pain as AC was on high when we arrived It was unresponsive for a few minutesNext was to take a shower Had no idea how to get hot water Nothing was marked Turns out you have to turn the shower Dial all the way to the left further than what you normally would in any other tapFigured it was just a matter of time but we never achieved water pressure, the entire shower for myself or my WifeThe bed was extremely uncomfortable and very flat on the right side to the point where you would almost roll off of it The pillows did not fare much better as they were very flat and you couldn’t get comfortableLastly, and the final straw was we decided to settle in and just watch some TV 90% of the channels didn’t work I think there was 5 or 6 that actually did And not even local channels you would expect to work I think the only local was CP24 The rest said no signal We didn’t even bother with calling the front desk or bothering to argue as we were just too tiredWe woke up refreshed and attempted to go get breakfast in the restaurant The line was all the way out the door and apparently they were having issues and they were sending people away!We will not be staying here again

Danica Tessier

Stayed here for 2 nights and the staff was excellent the entire weekend! Rooms are very clean and the food was delicious! When leaving I forgot my AidPod Pros on the bed! They found them and mailed them out to me! I am very grateful that the staff was so honest! Great customer service!

Brandon “Zunomei” Williams

Gotta say it was a pretty poor experience Despite having 50 channels on the tv only 5 of them actually work The other 45 just display a “no signal message”

The showers aren’t that great Visually they look good and have 2 heads (on handheld shower head) so on paper it sound good however when you adjust the temperature of the shower it takes about 7 mins for you to feel the effect This Made it a chore to shower The water was either infernally hot or ice water cold Staff was friendly so I’ll give them that but I paid an extra $10 for a room that stated “breakfast included” yet hotel staff told me I’d be required to pay $1250 per meal if I wanted breakfast The pool and gym were both very small and it was an absolutely horrid experience, 15/10 because staff was friendly but next time I’ll just share a cardboard box in the alley with the local bums

Checked in by Nalini, who was working her tail off to get everyone checked in for the March Break rush Hotel was nice and clean Pool was great

My kids loved to make their own waffles Staff was accommodating I took one star off because the slide wasn’t open, and that was literally the reason for booking a hotel 30 min from home I had called in advance to ask if it was open, and was told yes So we were a bit let down by that but we made good use of the pool anyways Slide is only open Friday and Saturdays, FYI

Jason Lessard

Nicely maintained hotel with all of the creature comforts Continental breakfast had what was expectedThe only critique I have is having the water slide stay open a little longer or different hours

Due to a ball tournament schedule my kids weren’t able to enjoy the slide at all This was one of the things they were excited to do while we were away

P Best

We arrived late at night and left early in the morning so it was not a long stay but it was absolutely wonderful and comfortable! The room was well equippedThe complimentary breakfast buffet was phenomenal! Porridge, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, multiple juices,

The only issue I could find was that the sink didn’t drain as quickly as it should Now that is nitpicking!!Thank you to the excellent staff for a wonderful stay

Stayed Sunday to Friday for a business tripHotel is very nice and in a good location in the centre of Kitchener South close to CRT and Victoria park and several restaurants and bars

Room was spacious and very comfortableStaff were friendly and welcomingNot giving 5 stars because of small service problems It seems room servicing is not automatic every day, so coffee and cups were not replenished when returned on the Monday Tuesday morning I asked for fresh coffee and cups but they did not appear so when returned Tuesday I had to ask again On the Thursday the shower gel had run out so I asked for it to be refreshed when going out in the morning, unfortunately when returning in the evening it had not been doneA shame for such a lovely hotel to be let down by little things But I would stay there again

We stayed in the Blue room and it was a great experience The bed was comfortable, the room was nice and clean, and the little details like wine glasses and pop corn were very sweet! The hosts were amazing, welcoming, and it was obvious how much of their hearts have gone into making Maryhill Inn a great place to stay To end this stay, we were served a delicious breakfast of crepes and cloud eggs

Would highly recommend, you won’t regret it!

Bruno Moreira-Jones

My husband and I took a road trip to Elora, ON We decided to stay at this place due to the fact that Maryhill Inn had a pet-friendly policy, and we had a very well-behaved, calm and sweet medium-sized German Shepherd that we didn’t want to leave alone / with a dog-sitter He had just been rescued and we felt like it would be too early for us to leave him away from us

To our surprise, turns out that Maryhill Inn was not only great due to it’s dog-friendly policy, but actually the whole experience was nothing short of phenomenal There is a very warm, wholesome, cozy and friendly vibe in the whole place The owners, a wonderful and very welcoming couple, has definitely put their heart onto their Inn, and their attention to detail and the love with which they manage the venue is visible in every little detail When we arrived, for instance, we were a bit concerned about how we’d be received due to our dog coming with us in the trip – even though some hotels say they are “dog-friendly” there is sometimes a harsh/cold reception once they realized you brought your four-legged friend with you But, nope Much on the contrary, the hosts were incredible, they genuinely loved to meet our fur-baby, they gave him treats in the morning, they even cooked a special meal/breakfast just for him, our little dog We couldn’t have felt more embraced, and, dare I say, “loved” than what we experienced We wish them all the luck in the world in their endeavours And we wholeheartedly recommend Maryhill Inn for anyone passing through the area Oh, and if you’re going to Elora, don’t think twice about booking for a stay here – it is not too far away at all, it’s just a short, pleasant drive from here to the heart of Elora And I guarantee, these hosts and their charming, beautifully restored inn will share the same passion, vibe and heartfelt feeling that one may encounter whilst strolling through Elora Don’t think twice, book your stay at this wonderful, welcoming Inn

Shane Young

All pluses Great stay The owners are very nice and the kind of people you would hang out with an enjoy a drink

They made you feel comfortable in what was a new nice room that was well cleaned and well presented They were very accommodating and prepared a good breakfast Looking to return when I can enjoy their outdoor space

Wasn’t a horrible stayhousekeeping needs to step up their game a little bit as the room could have been vacuumed better, fridge still had stuff in it from the previous people that stayed there, bed was made with the tv remote in it after searching for it

Customer service was goodbreakfast was great and fresh and staff were friendly! Definitely not top notch as previous hotels we’ve stayed in, but absolutely not the worse, just little things that could be worked on and upgraded!

We checked in on Easter Sunday and we’re given an early check-in The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating for our 2 night stay The beds are newer and very comfortable

The rooms are a little tired looking The lampshade looked like it had been in a fight One comment, about our room The room and bathroom were clean, except for toothpaste splatter on the mirror A full hot breakfast is served each morning

An old but decent hotel (for the price) right along the streets of King St West- countless cafes, restaurants and stores down it!Room was adequately clean and warm- beds are comfortable However, note that bedroom slippers, cutlery and a kettle are not provided

need water? Staff will inform you that the tap water is drinkable- no hot tea or instant drinks I guess😅If you need your rooms made, use the phone in the room- hanging the door signage doesn’t cut it😅😅Attitude and service was acceptablestaff are not familiar with the surroundings so Google is your better bet Hotel also doesn’t have umbrellas to lend out, so don’t forget yours on a rainy day!Restaurant below was understaffed, be prepared to waitThe hotel is designed like a mazethe fitness centre can be quite eerie, if you manage to find it that is…

Very hip and modern looking Clean Friendly service

Great location downtown King room average in size Nice desk space, lounge chair – with table you can work from Comfortable beds and linens Coffee maker, fridge AND microwave Parking is a nominal fee, but the location is downtown so you have to pay for parking everywhere The cost here is a fraction of the cost at nearby lotsThe halls are a bit confusing lol, but nice views Small bathroom, but it’s clean and looks newly renovatedI travel here for work often and look forward to staying here again

Great centrally located hotel Some of the amenities have been refreshed including the lobby Rooms are generally okay and clean but many have not been refreshed, showers were a little outdated

Generally didn’t feel top shelfThat said, service was great, people were nice, and again; very central, right on the light rail line

I’m writing this at time of check in so I may be getting ahead of myselfCheck in is 5pm but you might be able to get in as early as 12:00pm (noon) on a first come first serve basis and that is how I got in at LunchThe main lobby is nice and clean, across from the entrance is the restaurant and the elevators are to the right

Down the hallway on the right is the pool and change rooms for it as well as the fitness roomI see some people mentioning outdoor pool but there is none that I can see, just the indoor poolMy room was extremely clean and bright, the bathroom was clean and bright also with floor to ceiling glass doors to the showerThe beds feel comfortable enough, not too springy and not too stiffMy particular room had a tv, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron with boardThe only odd thing was the door to my room had a hinge that was slightly off and I had to lift up while shutting itThere is an extremely large parking lot and Ontario Hydro often stays here with their trucks so they can accommodate Big TrucksThey are literally like 500 meters off the 401 Right between Kitchener and Cambridge

Stayed here for 3 nights on business Service was friendly and helpful The room itself however left a little to be desired

The sheets were dirty There were patches of black dirt stains and also a couple patches of what looked like bloodstains? DisgustingThe bed was also very springy and I woke up with back pain every morning This is probably subjective though so YMMVHotel bar and restaurant was good and the pool & gym facilities looked good although I did not get a chance to use them

Y A

I had the worst sleep The AC is set to 73 F and won’t go any lower Even when I asked for front desk

They came and reset it but it still didn’t go lower The air was really dry too Clear the filters havent been changed in a while My nose is still clogged because of it Also the TV is old and mounted to the wall so you can’t connect HDMI cable into it The curtains were not full blackout so you’re forced to wake up early because room becomes bright
