Wonderful and relaxing All the little details of the decor was exquisite I had appointment at Cleveland Clinic which was only a block away so we sign in before the appointment and had dinner and enjoyed our evening

Anna had our breakfast ready with fruit and roll and then fixed our breakfast to order We will definitely recommend to others or if I need to go back again This will be our go to place

Amber Hussain

We had such a great experience staying at the Emerald Necklace Inn We stayed a couple of nights to explore Cleveland before our trip to Cedar Point and it did not disappoint This place felt so cozy and warm and the owners are a lovely mother daughter duo from the Ukraine who are as sweet as can be

We enjoyed a homemade breakfast each morning in the adorable tea room and all the small details made it feel so homey I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Cleveland area!

I can’t say enough about Emerald Necklace The food is absolutely delicious The room is so nice, comfortable and cozy

There is even a garden/yard area to sit in downstairs My friend and I made a pot of one of the many assortments of tea available to guests and had it around midnight in the garden after a nice evening of dinner and drinks downtown Cleveland The inn keeper Anna and her staff work very hard to ensure your stay is fantastic I want to come bsck to Cleveland just to just to stay here and eat here Highly recommended bed and breakfast! If you’re a fan of afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and dessert, look no further! Just great!

I became a Covid ICU Travel Nurse at the beginning of the pandemic I gave up my home I left my children & granddaughters

I have worked in multiple states, And, I have lived in hotels for the past 2 1/2 years I have been here for 11 months I will be here another 7 months Finally, I have a place to stay where I don’t feel desperately homesick This hotel… and this amazing staff have repeatedly gone above and beyond to make me feel as “at home” as possible Sure, things aren’t always perfect (I do NOT miss being responsible for my own home maintenance) While routine maintenance is clearly a top priority, things break, things need repaired Here, things get done quickly They get done correctly The property is extremely clean and well maintained The free laundry & workout equipment are clean & well maintained The convenience store is clean & well stocked (although the company recently switched to Pepsi products) The staff is AMAZING! My dogs love it here The people who stay here are respectful, and clean Everything is convenient (restaurants/shopping/freeway/airport) I have never felt disrespected here I have never felt unsafe here For the unplanned direction my 25+ year nursing career took, I would not be able to continue to do the work I do if it weren’t for this hotel, and the incredible people who have been such a blessing in my life!

100$ deposit that they hold that has to be on credit card or debit, can’t be cash Sort of a hassle but not bad Rooms weren’t the best , and had a weird pickle smell but had a rather large desk and laz e boy recliner

Nice size rooms Didn’t like the window to our room being facing the road Overall it I’ve been better places for the price Right down the street , the la Quinta or extended stay is just as good if not , a lot, better for the same price or cheaper

If you’ve been to a Home two suites before, it’s just like the other one but a little bit nicer than some The amenities are new and it smells good and cleanThe front desk staff were all friendlier than average and I thought everybody was nice that I interacted with

The breakfasts are decent They’re the same as at the other Home2 suitesI don’t like the bedding at Home2 suites I’m used to the Hyatt down comforters and my own down comforter at homeI was pretty disappointed that I specifically booked a hotel using an indoor poor pool filter and their pool was completely shut down How difficult is it to change the filter when you close your pool down? It can’t be that hardI was also pretty disappointed that I was locked out of my room when I went back to get my luggage after taking my dogs out It was right at 12 All the other hotels and have a check out at a certain time give you a window There’s been a lot of times when I’ve gone back from my second load 10 minutes after the checkout time and I’ve never been locked out right on the minute I was supposed to be checked out before That’s not a very good way to make people feel welcomed and appreciated

Cleanliness of this hotel is going down quickly After staying here for the last three years at different times The last few stays between have revealed a carelessness in cleaning the bathrooms, changing sheets, dusting and the shower doors, forget about it

We initially booked one night needed another night But decided to choose another hotel To add insult to injury excuses seem to be the order of the day From the color of the cleaning solution to oh that dirt is only on the side of the shower Will look to corporate for solutions because addressing on site management is a moot point Disappointed Diamond member

Dog pee and noise! But will be backWe stayed just one night, Saturday Had two rooms… One of them reeked of dog/cat urine

The other smelled fresh The room itself was otherwise clean, breakfast was great… The staff was overall decent The person checking me in Saturday afternoon was a bit short/rude, but the person (Heather) on Sunday morning was great The floor was crazy loud Saturday night with partying families, but that’s not really the hotel’s fault Sunday morning the same crew was ridiculously loud/messy at breakfast They trashed the whole scene, left a mess, and dodged The staff handled it really well I’d stay again, just didn’t personally get sleep or have a great night or morning Not the hotel’s fault per se

Very good re-use of a historic building (arcade mall) If you want quiet, make sure your room does not face the front main road as you can hear vehicles with blaring music through the windows during the night Front desk staff was very helpful, even secured our luggage after check out so we could visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without having to put our luggage in our vehicle in the parking garage

We will come back and stay here again

The room size was fabulous but in need of many repairs Reported the shower had a really bad leak, was told it would be taken care of Never was

Clothes hook on back of one bedroom door totally knocked off Had to get toilet paper from the front desk because housekeeping didn’t have any Asked for change at the front desk, twice, they had NO money in their cash drawer I was told to ask the valet The workers were very pleasant and polite

Margo Fritz

Our room was located in the Euclid building This is the most customer unfriendly layout I have ever experienced in a hotel We took the elevator from the lobby to the second floor

Walked through the dining area and out a door into the building next door that has various stores located in it We walked along a second floor walkway that looks down on the shopping are for quite some time to a second elevator We took the second elevator to the 4th floor Once we got off the second elevator it was a walk through various halls and up a set of stairs finally to our room Using a luggage cart was not an option The room was not anything like other residence inns I have stayed in It was dirty and needed updated to say the least Some of our pillows did not have pillow cases on them We did not have enough towels in our room for our family, for some reason only 3 were provided I called the front desk and they were supposed to send more, they never came We asked the front desk if there was a better way to our room and she told us there was only one way We experimented with several stairwells to find a more customer friendly way to our room All of the stairwells are disgusting, many cigarette butts, empty beer cans and filth The breakfast was also a disappointment slimy not fully cooked eggs, sausage, waffle in a plastic wrapper and old bananas Upon checkout I was charged for two days of valet when I had only used it once I called to complain and was told that the valet had tickets for each day and it had to be right I was eventually credited after another phone call

Great location and ease of access back to the freeway if needed Clean hotel Small gym, but was able to get a workout in

Had great business area, and nice rooms Mine had a balcony so that was a double win Highly recommended if you’re on the west side of Cleveland I will also point out my room was by the ice machine and elevators and I didn’t hear a thing

Peter Negron

This location is very convenient for me however this particular hotel is in serious need of a great cleaning The carpets in the rooms are a NO GO and the showers are not scrubbed properly I found the folks there to be pleasant but the state of the rooms was not very good

The shower soap fixture fell off the wall during the evening which after inspection had been repaired multiple times due to the amount of caulk used as an adhesive

Craig Evans

Room was clean and comfortableGym had a couple of treadmills, an elliptical, bench, and various weightBreakfast was overpriced and previously frozen

I think it was $7 for a 4 oz, pre packed fruit cup and one of the smallest breakfast sandwich’s I have ever orderedFriendly staff Plenty of parking, easy off/on I90 A number of restaurants serving lunch and dinner next to hotel

Terrible!!! I called several days before my stay and I was lied to about the price of my hotel room for two nights I don’t appreciate being lied to I wish I could have written my experience much better but definitely wasn’t worth the money

I should have just stayed across the street at the Best WesternCarpets are nasty throughout the hallways of the hotel, super stained upThe nozzle on my shower gel was broken off so I could not pump it out during the shower There was a long black hair in the sink and my child and I have blonde hair so it wasn’t us!Getting another towel was kind of a big deal since my son wasn’t aware that there was a towel mat and instead he used one of the towels to step out of the shower I had to explain everything in full detail just to get another towel for my room which was kind of pathetic!Breakfast was okay, would love to see more gluten-free optionsI was also told I could use the shuttle service to get to the airport I am not familiar with Cleveland and not have them in over 20 years The older gentleman at the front desk was rude and told me he would have to charge me for parking since my car was at the hotelToilet kept running the entire night and was not working the first night of our stay Kept hearing the thing run constantly all night Could not sleep My son and I did not want to move our belongings after we’ve been settled in for several hours Problem should be fixed, put the person from the front desk had to come and fix it for us Which I was grateful for what he did but it didn’t technically fix the problem

Emily Decker

Incredibly disappointed with our stay at Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport Sandra at the front desk was rude and unprofessional While taking my kids to swim at the pool, I was unable to get into the pool using our room key

I’ve never been to a hotel when you are unable to access the pool with simply your room key You must have a front desk attendant let you in every time When I went to the front desk to get access to the pool, Sandra asked for my room number and I gave it to her She told me, “that room is a king room and you can’t have 4 people!!” She very rudely accused me of being dishonest in front of my children (our room had two queen beds) I clarified with my husband what our room number was, and it was what I originally thought She again accused me of sneaking too many people into a king room She finally looked up the room, and realized that she was mistaken- and that my room was, in fact, a two queen room Upon checking out, we had the opportunity to meet the manager, Raj, and we can see where the toxic culture comes from He was unkind and unprofessional and I am appalled that he chooses to work in the hospitality industry Do yourself a favor, and stay at any other hotel in the area who will be grateful for your business

Deborah Kane

DO NOT BOOK this hotel

you will be charged the full price of your stay if you try and modify your reservation less than 1 week in advance Not 24 hours, not 48 hours, but a full week is required to change or modify your reservation I tried to move my reservation from a Tues night to a Sunday night 5 days out and they won’t allow it without charging a full night’s stay My son has tested positive for COVID and we cannot visit him now, so we are flying back to Boston early The General manager will not return my phone call HORRIBLE customer service!!!

The manager was very nice and empathetic Unfortunately, our room was absolutely disgusting and no where near what we expected during this trip There were 3 garbage cans in our two bedroom suite and of those three, one was still full of trash and one didn’t have a bag inside when we checked in

There were all kinds of sticky / tacky substances on the doors, counter, and night stand We had two separate two bedroom suites and none of the 6 TVs in our rooms worked, all 4 beds looked like the top layer of blankets were just pulled up vs the sheets actually being changedThere were bags of garbage and towels all over the property which was as bizarre as it was gross We were there for 3 days and it was progressively worse each day We wound up checking out a day early purely because of the condition of the hotel There’s a major difference between an older property and a poorly maintained property

I am in the middle of an 11 night stay and things have already been rather disappointing, to say the least I will edit with additional informationLocation: The hotel is conveniently located to the city of Cleveland

It is in a safe area and quite a few food options are nearbyFacilities: The hotel layout is confusing and is definitely dated It could use some upkeep I am in a studio suite with a fireplace The area in front of the fire place on the floor has a soft spot that I avoid as I don’t want to fall through The television system does not save information from Netflix or other streaming services like I am accustomed to It also zooms in the picture on streaming services randomly The laundry room is inoperable The washers all broke and apparently they did not start repairs until the final one broke The closest laundromat is 28 miles away… Very inconvenient for someone without a vehicle The common areas could use some cleaning as well The picture is, what I am hoping is, ketchup that has been on the wall in the stairwell since I checked inStaff: Interactions with staff have been hit of miss Everyone has been very polite, but I am assuming a lot of newer employees at the locationBonvoy: I was given an upgraded room to the fireplace suite upon check in which is always appreciated My status was kind of acknowledged when checking in (has never been important to me) I requested a late checkout when I checked in electronically and there were no issues

Irene Aschenbener

We stayed in this location several times It has never been great, but We travel with dogs and and usually accept we won’t get the best room This time we were put on the 2nd floor and I ask to be moved because of the dogs- up and down stairs

We were put in room 2 and it was filthy! Surface’s dirty, walls, dust on sides of beds, lamps, drawers would not stay closed on the dresser, needed to be vacuumed Cushions missing off the back of the couch, no chair in room I called front desk, offered small wipe’s to go over surfaces They had no other roomsThe next morning my dog pick up a medication off the floor and I went to speak to the manager, KathyShe did have the room cleaned, it was better not great, waived my do fee, but I really don’t think she cared No one should have been put in that room in the first placeBut hey location is convenient -hence the 2 stars I expect more out of Marriott

Clean and pleasant as any Hampton Inn usually is Very nice and friendly staffConvenient to the highway and lots of good places to eat

Breakfast was good as was a dip in the poolMy room was tight, especially for one with two queen beds in it, but I was on my own so it was good Room 101, while convenient, the constant sound of the elevator equipment immediately the other side of the wall was not fun Maybe a discount offer for this room would be appropriate I tuned it out but any light sleepers would not be pleased I was assigned this room through the app, my reservation made months ago An upgrade was available for another $40, that’s not coolIn summation, tight but clean and tidy room and a great staff made for a nice weekend I slept well and felt comfortable and safe herethank you to HI Middleburg Heights

Dawn Swan

We loved the vibe/decor of this location and its proximity to Cleveland Hopkins Int’l Airport Front Desk attendants were very warm, personable and helpful Our room was nice, and we appreciated all the amenities, but the mirror over the desk clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, a towel was backwards, a tile over the shower needs replaced, no bags in the trash cans seems unsanitary, one of the lamps was unplugged & we had no full-length mirror

Still, we recognize these are pretty minor, and our stay was comfortably restful

Pam

Mom and I were in Ohio to celebrate the Life of my Uncle, and Mom’s Brother We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cleveland Airport/Middleburg Heights The Staff is exceptional

They were like friends! The beds were the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a long, long time and the rooms were very well taken care of and very clean I am so grateful to have found this wonderful hotel We stayed the night we arrived and the night before we flew home This is a very fine hotel with helpful, caring staff They helped us with transportation to Airport and Car Rental Thank you Hampton Inn, Cleveland Airport/Middleburg Heights!! This was a really old hotel Our door to our room did not fit We could see out into the hall there was such a huge gap between the door and the door frame

The beds were comfortable, so that was really good The staff was so helpful and friendly The company needs to invest in this location They have this great staff, but the structure needs a lot of work for sure

Lauren Trionfante

Yes, the hotel is outdated, but I stay here frequently, and it’s clean Erica, the manager, is accommodating, and the front desk staff is welcoming I arranged for a workgroup to stay here, and all were thrilled with the accommodations and the cleanliness

We will be back Keep up the great work I have no complaints, nor did my group, thankfully Close to the freeway and excellent proximity to downtown

David Dwinnells

When we entered our room my daughter found a pile of dirty clothes underneath the desk My wife found hair in the shower and the clock was broken Also we hada clogged toilet

A few things that could have been resolved if they cleaned the room before we got there This is a very dated hotel They do have directtv which was a plus The staff tried to fix our problems by letting my 3 children get a few snacks from the snack room That was very nice of them but I think my room rate should have been adjusted due to the circumstances Hopefully Hampton Inn will put some money into this hotel and update the rooms We loved our trip but the dirtiest of the room was not acceptable

We had a great experience at this hotel We thought it was brand new because it was so clean and so well maintained, but an employee told us they’ve been there for 2 years Rooms were very clean & spacious, TVs can easily access Netflix and other streaming services, beds were comfortable and the staff was SO friendly, especially the two women in who take care of the free breakfast area

I think their names were Laverna and Patricia They were so kind & friendly and the whole area was kept very clean They warmly greeted every person, had genuine conversations, and kept the food well stocked Overall it was a great experience!

We stayed 2 nights in July 22’ All the staff was amazing, from the 2 front desk associates, housekeeping, and the kitchen staff!!! Everyone was extremely nice and offering assistance if needed The rooms were big and very clean! Good lighting, huge TV, free HBO and SHOWTIME, nothing was broken

Had no issues at all during this stay! Just a short 20 minute drive into the city, & 12 minutes to the zoo! Definitely recommend if you’re passing through Cleveland Ohio!

We enjoyed staying here The suite room was clean and good for kids The bathroom could be cleaner

One of the reason that we have chosen this hotel is the free breakfast We understand due to the Covid, they prepare to go box However, when you don’t eat ham because of religious reason, you should respect it and find a solution for it The first day they gave us cheese and egg sandwiches They were very kind However, the last day the front desk girl says they give whatever in the bag which could be ham or cheese It was not kind and it is not what it is supposed to be if you offer free breakfast or you could give what people ask when you are willing to spare time to get egg and cheese sandwiches Big thanks to the front desk guy to quite her and went to the kitchen and grab what we were asking It is sad to feel for us and for our kids in this way if you cannot eat something else other than egg and cheese sandwiches due to the religious reasons I don’t want my kids to feel bad because of their choice of religions Overall it was good

Pet friendly rooms are disgusting I was traveling with my cats so was given a pet friendly room Upon entry the entire place smelled of animal urine

You could see stains on the floor as well where pets have used the carpet as their toilet The area most saturated with animal urine was in front of the bathroom which my cat ended up rolling in I had to bathe him afterwards he smelled so awful of urine from head to toe Even just walking on the carpet barefooted, my feet felt really gross Aside from that nastiness, the beds did not have any fitted sheets however they were comfortable The TV worked great, the shower/hot water worked great, and the amenities were nice The AC worked very well The front desk staff were very friendly as well I was just really disappointed in the cleanliness of the pet friendly rooms We pay an extra deposit for cleaning, you would think the rooms would’ve been in better condition They honestly need to rip up all of the carpets from those rooms to avoid animals having accidents on their floors and retaining all of the smells I’m only giving two stars because the room cleanliness really threw me off It just felt gross knowing that I had to put my things in that room, potentially coming out smelling like animal urine I am very grateful to the friendly staff upfront, but these rooms need more attention

Melissa R. Kosovich

I stayed by myself the night before my wedding, and my husband stayed with me that night Everyone congratulated us without us mentioning we’d just gotten married I think it was because I had mentioned it when I originally booked the room almost a year before

Everyone was super friendly, and kind I accidentally left my Fitbit in the room, and the process to reclaim it was very smooth Setting up a block of rooms for our guests was pretty easy too Would stay here again

My husband and I recently traveled to Cleveland so I could be evaluated for a surgery there, and we picked the J Palen House It was fantastic What really stands out to me is that when we arrived Cleveland had a lot of snow, but the b&b made it a point to shovel out a space for us and put cones down so no one would take our spot

I was just really impressed with the foresight and thoughtfulness to do that for usThere was a plumbing issue with our original room, so they upgraded us to the Palen room The plumbing issue was actually fixed before we arrived, but they still let us stay in the Palen room It was lovely The bed was amazing, I never wanted to leave the tub, the fireplace was cozy, and the food was delicious We had the whole building to ourselves, which was so niceThe one thing to look out for is that our room was on the second floor, and the stairs were quite steep-and the only bathroom we could use was on the second floor It wasn’t a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have severe mobility issues However, as there are other rooms that don’t require stairs, I wouldn’t see it as a deal breaker for anyone staying I’m sure all of the rooms are wonderful to stay inWe’ll actually be traveling to Cleveland again soon for my surgery, so we’ll probably stay at the Palen House again then

Diane and Doug were great! We stayed in The Roost, which was very rustic and unique My wife and I both loved it The breakfasts they served us were absutely delicious

They laid out rose petals and towel swans for my wife, our 4 month old we brought along, and myself I was even able to pay them to get a dozen rozes and chocolate covered strawberries ahead for Valentine’s Day This trip was perfect If you need food recommendations, make sure to ask them as well We used 3 of their recommendations and were not disappointed in the least Highly recommend this experience!

The hotel itself was nice, I loved the room For the most part, it was clean and the breakfast was good The reason I am giving the hotel two stars is because I suspect theft after requesting room service from the hotel

I had a piece of jewelry tucked away before room service and after packing the jewelry box and bringing it back home we unpack it and a pair of earrings were gone from it I wouldn’t be so mad if they weren’t my grandmothers who had passed last year and the ones I wore in my wedding They were not worn or taken out the rest of the trip so who else would have taken them out? Just be mindful when staying here about your belongs and who enters your room!

Rooms seemed visibly clean at first, until we started noticing cup stains on counters, someone else’s hair on the nightstand, dirty counters behind ice bucket and coffee machine Hot tub was visibly filthy with smelly, musty water Scent used in hotel smelt clean at first, but started to make me feel sick after a few days

Could use some hot items on breakfast menu for the price Pool was fine, as well as fitness center Beds seemed clean and comfortable There was a small bug crawling on my son’s pillow – not sure if it was a bed bug or not No bites TV is in bad position in relation to beds Our daughter slammed her finger in the sliding bathroom door – has no stopper and slides very fast if not familiar with that kind of door like our daughter Staff pleasant Housekeeping friendly and accommodating

We found the hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and the staff was friendly Look at the pictures closely because the one bedroom is a studio room with a bathroom It’s not like Residence Inn or other Marriott properties where one bedroom is actually one bedroom

The only separation between a couch and bed is a desk with a tall backing On this basis, the room with two queen beds could be listed as a two bedroom

There was ample parking on both the front and back of the building Breakfast was always hot with decent options The room was a good size and we enjoyed the separate seating (living room) area

Cons: I believe the front desk clerk said the pool was heated but my husband and daughter along with other guests said it didn’t feel heated Also the TV kept breaking up I believe they have Dish as their provider, I would suggest looking into a different option if one is availableJust an FYI I believe you may need to let the front desk know if you would like housekeeping to clean and make your beds daily because we were there 5 days and it was only done one of the days

Shawna Gann

The staff was super friendly Room was clean, bed was okay The heat register was so loud I couldn’t sleep though

They don’t do any housekeeping unless you set that up in advance I had to use the QR code and app to request more toiletries and that the trash be taken outLiked that there was a hot breakfast, but the eggs were cooked on one of those clay casserole dishes and they had a potholder on top so you wouldn’t burn yourself except…I still burned myself 😔Not a bad place, but I have stayed at HP before and really enjoyed it Location was fine, too I’m not sure I’ll stay there again, but it was good ‘nuff for my visit

Anne “Anne” Van Camp

Stayed for 1 night as we were on a cross-country drive, so I’m very happy they accepted my request on late arrival checkin At first, the room they gave me is smelling terribly bad Smells cigarette

I thought we can bear with if, but it really started irritating my nasal so we requested to replace the room Which I’m happy, they did! This time is cleaner, no smell, bed pillows and blanky are comfy! All of the stuff that were mentioned on their website are all in there and works perfectly fine! Enjoyed our stay Thank you!

Guess Who

This is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in The bathroom floor was sticky, the bath tub was slimey, the shower curtain had stains, and there was mold in the toilet The carpet felt like it had never been cleaned and had many stains

The pillows were flat and one of them didn’t even have a pillowcase I felt more dirty after bathing here than I did before I stepped into that disgusting shower The breakfast is also gross The oatmeal was basically cold soup The waffles were stale and cold Marriott should be embarrassed to put their name on this dump I have literally stayed in much nicer hostels The cleaners should all be fired and the health dept should be called

Mercedes Smith

I should have stayed at the courtyard across the street The staff was friendly but the rooms are run down and nasty I had broken glass, window came completely out, bed smells like grease(cooking oil), and the couches needs to be replaced

They look as though they have been here since the hotel was built I had to switch rooms because the heater stopped working and there wasn’t any hot water The heater eventually started working but I can’t take back the scream shower I had to take in 27 degree weather 😩 I will probably never stay at another town place suites ever again By the way, the staff is great 👍

Stephanie Winkler

Just read all the other reviews Very true I didn’t have a window fall out, but ac has been on 65 and room still above 70

Everything is old and stained The amount of doors you have to walk through to get to the elevator! Beds are hard as a rock Appliances barely work Gym has only two 40 pound dumbbells Treadmill works but very basic and oldOhhh and did I mention the train track right outside my window?
