Excellent hotel and delicious buffet breakfast It’s such a beautiful property, has great customer service, and is very clean! We stayed for one night after a fun-filled day at Sesame Place with our kids and it’s the best location We reserved the double queen suite w/ full kitchen and it was perfect for our little family of 4

The kids loved the room! We will definitely choose Homewood Suites the next time we visit San Diego

Taryn Clark

Would definitely recommend this hotel for a family vacation The kids loved the complimentary hot breakfast and the pool, and our stay was quite comfortable Beds were ok (the pull out couch was super squeaky and creaky)

The shower could have used some maintenance and better cleaning (tile and grout were kind of gross) and the parking rate is a tough pill to swallow But it’s a great location for downtown, the baseball stadium, sea world, the zoo and great beaches The Hotel Circle area is extremely busy and densely populated; all the shopping and restaurants were very busy But we had everything we needed and the convenience was great for us Staff at the hotel were super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable

John and Adrianna Beshara

Absolutely and highly recommend this facility We travel a lot I have stayed at a variety of different places This by far is my favorite

The customer service was exceptional, the rooms were fantastic, the complementary breakfast is tasty, and overall it is such a good bang for your buck I honestly could not even fathom how people could give a bad rating The place was really that great Big kudos to all the staff there they were really really helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to make the stay amazing

One of the best Hostels in San Diego Prime location, next to beautiful Little Italy Beautiful looking house with lots of character that is kept clean and tidy by the staff

ITH always has an amazing community vibe and the staff at this hostel in particular are very friendly and service oriented I had a lot of fun going to the bonfires and events they hosted I would highly recommend staying at this hostel

Un utilisateur Google

I really like this hostel, the young’s staff are really good and super friendly The kitchen are interely equip, breakfast are good too, the bathroom are decent just missed some soap for travel you know The bunk bed are correct, but need to repair the metallic ladder are not fixed

One note for the end, the price are cheap pour San Diego I really recommend this place if you enjoyed talk with strangers 😁

Francisco Valenzuela

The room was stinky, the beds were not comfortable People were doing drugs in the facilities, there were no lockers available, no towels available, the restrooms were also dirty Thank you for trying to improve but I already went back to San Diego and I booked another place where it was sparkling clean, they had a mich better service, they had lockers available, the beds were more comfortable and the price was lower

Honestly I don’t think i will come back to you guys, there were broken lockers and I had to sleep with my suitcases in my bed, so far it’s been one of the worst experiences I’ve had around the world Thank you but no thank you

Don’t go to this hotel because it’s always full and super awesome and if you guys all go there I will never be able to have a spot It’s literally right on the beach catching the water it’s absolutely amazing but I say again do not book your because then they’ll not be any room for me to book there because anyone who knows anything about staying in a nice place obviously stay here

Clayton Cohn

My grandparents retired to La Jolla and were members here, so I grew up coming to LJBTC twice a year for 20+ years I never stayed at the hotel, however, until recently The beachfront location is impossible to beat, as are the activities, which include tennis, chip-and-putt golf, pickleball, ping pong, cornhole, and other games I am surely missing

The staff is nice, and the food is top notch as well They even have a falconer on the beach to scare off seagulls! (although I believe it’s a hawk not a falcon, but still!)That being said, there is one caveat The place is exactly as I remember it from when I was a kid, which is good for my nostalgia, but bad for the hotel The painting scheme is a bit tired and clearly needs updating More importantly, some key features are missing There are no elevators, for example, so anyone not on the first floor will have to use the stairs Be aware of this if stairs are an issue for you! Additionally, the rooms do not have readily available outlets (I had to pull the bed and headboard out to plug in my phone charger, for example)Overall, this place is great But it is expensive and missing some modern accoutrements that are staples at even the lowest-tiered hotels However, if your goal is to stay on the beach with ready access to great food and awesome games in an environment that is equally kid-friendly and relaxing, then this is the place to be Just make sure you bring an extension cord or surge protector so you only have to move the bed out once!Safe Travels,Clayton Cohn

Nomad Skateboarding

One of the most welcoming hostels I’ve been in 🙂Bathrooms and kitchens are easily accessible Good amount of space for guests

Inside separate smoking room Great prices/value Free breakfast (I didn’t see what either time I started, but others seemed happy!) Stores, transportation, and University district right outsideThe staff were all very good Kayla and Aubrey were exceptional! (Full transparency, these were the only two I really spoke with, so the rest of the staff are most likely cool as well 😎)I would recommend this to anyone looking for a short or long-term stay in San Diego

Demetrius Rowe

From the time I checked in the staff was great Audrey along with the other nice young lady Kayla their customer service was very awesome! No attitudes and they always had a smile and was extremely helpful the days I encountered these lovely people The kitchen was spacious and the rooms were clean If there were or if any issues they looked into it right away and they did their job with greatness

Though things has happened to me I can say my experience was great and I appreciate them for allowing a great place like this to be around which allow people to come together and socialize

Elijah Mccord

I give this place 2 stars because I met some great people there and the manager cares about the place That said, housekeeping is pretty much non-existent The rooms are tiny and never get deep cleaned beyond the beds being turned over

Nor do the bathrooms, which are often out of toilet paper and soap The toilets get clogged constantly at which point the stalls are taped shut and left with a terrible smell that festers because of poor ventilation The fridges in the common areas are never cleaned, and the pantry area has a terrible mold problem that completely ruined multiple of my food items in which they were stored The overall issue is cleanliness I don’t wish to throw the staff under the bus because they are largely great people, but the truth is there’s a serious lack of maintenance that left me feeling pretty undervalued as a paying customer My opinions seemed to be shared by several of the other guests with whom I spoke about the issues It’s an ok option considering the price, but the infrastructure and work ethic of the staff needs some improvement

Beautiful views and a lovely room Lots of nice details Dimmer switches by the bed lamps, wireless charging pads

Beautiful wood sliding door shutters Really enjoyed the bike rentals The best thing was the pool The temperature has been quite cold, especially at night but the pool was very warm and I didn’t feel cold in it at all Staff was great Lots of good restaurants nearby, and all of the locals we have met were very friendly

Marlo Thorp

This hotel was wonderful Right on the beach! Beautiful pool area, loved all the tables to sit and have breakfast/coffee/dinner outside in the fresh air Loved the fire pit tables at night

We had 4 rooms, all on the ground floor that lead out to the pool/patio area, right next to the area to order food, it was so convenient to go to each-other’s rooms, meet for drinks, the kids went back and forth easily Rooms were very clean They had fridges in the rooms and hot coffee/tea and cold water and lemonade available all day The staff went above and beyond, each and every person we interacted it They also offered wonderful restaurants suggestions! The parking area underneath was small and tight and hard to get a large SUV parked but they offer valet and that was a nice added bonus The location was great, lots of places within walking distance Loved our stay

Peter Balle

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smiling friendly faces The concierge Dan volunteered much information about the area and was very friendly and helpfulIt’s refreshing to see a business that offers 5 star customer service that has been lost in many businesses in the hospitality industry

The way you treat your customers with engaging smiles and attention goes a long way From the reception desk to the maids we were very happy to be on the propertyThe rooms are beautifully appointed, quiet and very comfortableWe look forward to returning to enjoy San DiegoThank you for the excellent hospitality and service You are a gem in the rough

Very nice suite The pull out bed is uncomfortable to sleep on Very spacious room and I like the kitchen area with a full size refrigerator

I did not have to really use any services so I can’t rate that any higherThe complimentary morning breakfast has a good selection that is very filling

D V

We had a wonderful stay The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay and even upgraded us to an upgraded suite, which worked out perfectly while traveling with a toddler The breakfast was very good considering it was included with the stay and the staff made sure there were additional vegetarian options available by making us morning star sausages upon request

We will definitely stay here again when we travel to San Diego and thank you so much for the wonderful experince!

Front desk reps remain behind a door in a back office, inattentive and passive customer service, takes minutes to recall Hairs found in bed, shower, sink and ‘fresh towels’ Dust clings to light fixtures in the lobby and hallways

Definitely the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at Everything is so clean and the common areas are great to make new friends The staff is outstanding since everyone is just so helpful and friendly even if they are not on shift

Also the social events are super fun!!The rooms have a good size and the beds provide enough privacy since you have metalwalls behind and next to your head Lockers are provided in the room, which gives extra security Last but not least is the location of the hostel outstanding as well Right in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter and just a 10 min walk from the Seaport Village In conclusion, I can just highly recommend that hostel, doesn’t matter if you are just travelling and want to make new friends or if you are in the city for work

Kara Michelle

This hostel raised my standards of hostel! I’ve never been to one so greatDefinitely best hostel in San Diego! This hostel is absolutely amazing, the staff are friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile for all the guests The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, large lockers for the bigger backpacks, outlets and lights in the bunk with you

You often see the staff deep cleaning and making sure everything is tidy Definitely the CLEANEST hostel in San DiegoIt’s located in the heart of Gaslamp and it’s an easy walk to get anywhere As much as its in the middle of all the action, when you shut your window at night you aren’t bothered by the noise There is so much to do downtownNot only is the local area lively but they have in house activities almost every day-Taco Tuesday, Sunset Tour, Ghost Tour, Beer Pong Tournaments and Saturday Social These activities are not only very well thought out and planned but a lot of fun A great way to meet other guests & meet people to do other things with Highly recommend!

Maria, her partners Erin and John, and their staff are absolute beautiful people With their generosity, they helped my family and I in a big time of need and I’ll never forget that This hostel goes above business and has a real heart and human compassion to it

It’s a lottery who you’re going to get staying with you at any hostel, but this place was decorated beautifully and the facilities were great Most affordable stay I could find in San Diego and more lovely than any other But above all, the people here are good people Thank you for the stay!

Me and my husband stayed here in the mixed dorm, for a night, the location of the hostel is pretty good Not far from the airport, and surrounded by a lot of good restaurants The front desk is open 24 hours

The room and the beds are clean My dorm room was right on the busy street, and adjacent to the lobby So was little noisy There was no attached bathroom You have to walk down the Holloway The restroom is clean enough and maintained There is vending machine inside The environment inside is also friendly and nice However, this is not the best hostel I have stayed so far

Isabel Baransky

No frills hostel Has some cool decorations and really nice staff It’s in a phenomenal location

You walk outside and you’re immediately hit with nightlife That also means it’s loud all night unfortunately Not necessarily from the hostel but from the surrounding area Breakfast is good, things are clean enough The lockers only work with large locks, not the smaller TSA luggage locks This was pretty frustrating to discover and I wish I had known earlier, as my two locks are useless Overall, would stay again if I came to San Diego

Aaron Bruce

Everything was great about this hostel The staff is super friendly The location and price are great

In regards to the things someone may be wondering:There is a fridge for food storage and a supermarket down the streetThere is locked storage in your roomI heard no exterior noiseThe location is super convenientThere is microwave/toaster/toaster oven You could hypothetically make a pizzaThey have a shuttle that can take you to cool places occasionally (they have schedule with them)I’m very pleased with my experience and a bit bummed I wasn’t there longer as the staff have great personalities

Great location in Hillcrest, everything is within a reasonable walking distance, or at least a quick taxi ride Walls are a bit thin between the actual units, but the number of windows and amount of air that flows through is great The back unit felt secluded in that it only shared one wall with another unit

Parking is a bit tight but manageable The staff I spoke with , and encountered in the building, we’re very friendly and easy to work with Would definitely stay here again

Kristin Foss

We stayed in a room that had a small staircase and a lofted bed The main issue was the air conditioner being located by the front door Without setting it to 60, the cold air wouldn’t reach the bed area

But that made it quite chilly when you went down to the bathroom A fan maybe would fix this? Otherwise, the place was nice Very walkable area, close to the park Barely interacted with the staff but they seemed friendly enough

Stayed 2 nights, great location Front Desk agent who checked us in was great Room was great until we needed to shower

Water kept cutting off and when we called down they wanted to send maintenance however the shower started again When we checked out we mentioned the water issue and were told it’s been a problem and maintenance is aware Last time I checked if the whole building has a water issue a plumber should be involved, not hotel maintenance The other issue was the breakfast was a disaster No food, no coffee and dirty dishes piled up Such a nice location but such a shame to start our family Vacation this way

First of all, i was surprised by the cleanliness level as many reviewers gave high score for this The room i got was not up-to expectations as it was not very clean The smell of the room was like old motel on highway

Second, the condition of the bedroom mattress was horrible Looks like it is 20 years old I could not sleep well You will feel like sleeping in bath tubLast, although the rooms has a balcony, the room i got was facing a wall which was really annoying I talked to the front desk during the check in to change my room but they said it was the only available one which i don’t believeDefinitely will never come back

Room was very clean, we stayed in cove bungalow, quiet beach steps from the door, parking at the room Living room with kitchenette was perfect for storing baby food They supplied pack and play for baby

Towel service was quick when we needed more Room service for every dinner was delivered hot and in less than 40 minutes Pools were clean and not overwhelmingly busy Plenty of vegetarian options Once you check in you never have to leave the resort

John Dillon

The rooms are okay & the beds were decently comfyThe view from our room on the bay was really really nice I will sayThe primary problem with our adjoining rooms was the mini split A/C systems are very noisy

And in the room with the single king bed the system is literally 1 foot from the bed and at the same height as the bed So it blows literally on you at full blast all nightPlus the room with a king bed had very poor blind shutters that let a lot of light inWhile the room with two Queen beds has a mini split at least on the other side of the room And it has nice black out curtainsWe ended up sleeping in the king bed with no A/C so it was quiet at least To do over we’d probably ask for two rooms with the double queens that are near one anotherAlso, no microwave and no filtered water source except for bottles you have to constantly ask for Make sure to bring in your own gallon jugs of water from a gas stationFor the amount of money spent on two rooms, we expected a lot more than received

A very nice timeshare to stay at The rooms are spacious and the fact it includes amenities such as an outdoor pool and grills and there’s even a balcony area for your room makes it very comfortable A full kitchen area with a sizeable table to eat or work at makes it a plus

The staff are polite and professional They are following current Covid guidelines Recommended

Staff was slow or non-existent to bring any item to the room The facility needs repairs and there is obvious settling to the structure I noticed there was sewer leaks at plumbing lines in the garage level below

Hallways and doorways on the 4 floor had major settling and felt like a cruise ship when walking through (sway and vibrations) I won’t go back for safety concerns It only got 2 stars for its proximity to locations I would feel better if a structural engineer reviewed it first

My Very First Experience with WorldMark😊I was very Pleased! The Conceirge was very Knowledgeable and helpful I believe his name was Justin 🙄 We received a few bottles of Wine which was much needed from the drive to San Diego 😀 The rooms were amazing and stocked with the essentials My Sister in Christ Diane Lawson is a very long time Member of WorldMark 😊 and I am very Grateful that she invited me there to stay and go to the Zoo

which I have never been!! Excellent Service 👍🏾🙏🏾 Blessings

You definitely need to stay here and I will write why next:As soon as you get there and go through the doors you will be found with an amazing staircase that is really well decorated, all the walls are full of posters It makes you feel goodAs you get closer to the register you’re received by very welcoming people, once you’re done with your check in process and get to your room is in good conditions and clean

The location is basically a 4-10 minute or less walk to clubs, restaurant, and a whole street of fun The location makes this place amazing definitely worth staying here That’s all I have go and visit it yourself and create your own experience and opinion Make it your journey

I stayed here 4 times now I remembered my first Visit here during the height of the Pandemic Despite how hard it was do anything Socially at the time of my first visit, at least it was great to interacted with the staff and some of the guests

A year later I came back things were more normal in San Diego Social wiseRooms are alright, the Beds too but the whole Hostel experience is positive Friendly staff and from my experience with Guests pretty friendly what I seen Plus, it affordable if your on Budget The Plus side of this Hostel its near all the good things to do In Downtown San Diego

Phenomenal experience! Everyone from the staff to the guests has a warm, friendly, inviting energy Add that to the excellent location and abundance of art, and you’ve got quite the vibe This will definitely be the go-to spot for future travels

Objectively, the kitchen is set-up nicely so you don’t feel cramped even when it’s full The rooms are neat and clean, and the bathroom/shower facilities are accessible and ample The location is great for public transit on the rails or buses Perfect for going out only a few blocks from downtown Gaslamp, but able to come back to a more peaceful night sleep Just an easy, comfortable stay overall Best in San Diego
