I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton and other ultra luxury hotels in various parts of the world and the Blue Iguana is in my opinion as good as or better than any Ritz Carlton property It has the same feel of luxury and relaxation except it is run by a family instead of a corporation and the owners have curated every detail of the property to be serene and beautifulI booked 12 rooms in this hotel for my team of insurance people to spend time together for two nights

It could not have been more perfect, we absolutely loved it

July 7 – July 11, 2022 Well, what can I say? Yes, I love the Blue Iguana Inn As always, the place is immaculate and the staff is great

I always book Suite 202 and I am never dissatisfied I also enjoy the noise level policy and will return every three months, instead of every six months Bottom line, I will only stay at the Blue Iguana Inn when visiting Ojai, CA

First of all let me say I love this place and I love the old school key I hate it when I check into a room I drag my luggage and then the key didn’t work because I accidentally touched it to my phone or something This place is awesome they have killer rooms here I do a lot of travel and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels I will always come back here five freaking Stars

Guy at the front was really cool and allowed me to tour the two bedroom suite they have Definitely coming back here every time I’m down this way which is approximately every 2 to 4 monthsRoom 101 was very quaint and very comfortable with a huge bathroom Love the ability to have a couch microwaved refrigerator coffee pot This place was very clean

caroline fedotowsky

Rooms available on a holiday weekend at reasonable rates, moderate pricing for Ojai Nice restaurant nearbyHowever, the bathroom was a huge safety hazard with no grab bars and a very slippery floor

Had to put towels down to avoid falling We will not return there due to the real danger of injuryThe check in was strange, behind a sliding window and with a surly attendant And there was quite a bit of traffic and other noise

We loved our suite Dove and Quail unit for our family It was spacious, beds very comfortable and layout very pleasing Courtyard was such a peaceful and quiet place to relax

Location extremely convenient Bikes were a great addition Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable We will for sure come back again to this beautiful town and your property

Robert Moss

My wife and I were in Ojai for a wedding and chose Su Nido because the more well known name in town (where we had stayed previously) was booked solidWe did not regret our choicePerfect location, quiet, clean, good a/c (if a tad loud), roomy (enough), easy parking, great courtyard for morning coffee and fabulous breakfast pastries from The Dutchess (a very short walk away), all in all a great stay

Do they have a pool? No Do they have a spa? No Do they have daily housekeeping service? No Do they have a restaurant? No Did the decor in our suite (Cardinal) match our tastes? No Did any of that matter to us? NOJust a very chill vibe and a fantastic location, which made for a truly enjoyable stay

Laura Mullins

Quiet, clean, and luxurious are not adequate to described this piece of paradise Centrally located to delicious food and eclectic shops, this beautiful space is tucked away on a side street If you need to disconnect and surround yourself in affordable luxury, this is your spot

Su Nido means “your nest” and from the second you arrive you’ll feel at home

Stayed in room 205 Small but perfect for a quick stay No mini fridge but there is a coffee maker and microwave

Wasn’t able to get the TV to work The bed is very comfortable and soft, the sheets are equally good The staff is super friendly and engaging with their guests Definitely recommend the restaurant attached to this place, well worth the price if you can afford it 10/10 will visit again!

milton guinses

The hotel was nice! It had a beautiful older rustic charm to it, the front desk by the name of Maribel was a freaking delight!!! She helped us feel welcome and walked us to the different rooms to see if it met our needs because we wanted a jacuzzi tub that fit the both of us even the ghosts were nice!🥴 (yes I think I saw one) will be back again if you go on Friday the vendor’s marketplace is awesomeness we picked up local honey and jam, cookies, bread, smoked cheese and candy and the restaurant inside the hotel was busy and quick and the locals all eat here so make sure you rsvp

The museum across the street is also nice This was a nice quaint low maintenance trip and look forward to doing again

Candice Adams

There is nothing special about this hotel; but critical reviews do not match my experience The room and hallways were clean, comfortable beds The bathroom is small but clean and everything worked

The area represents the standard ethnic area of Los Angeles The price is very low for this part of Los Angeles Excellent access to the metro The parking fee is normal for the city One caveat: breakfast is not available and zSi can’t say any nearby options yet

Xandra Bolotin

I would not recommend this hotel They are unfriendly and petty And yes, they charge you $10 for parking without letting you know beforehand and their parking isn’t even secure

The rooms are subpar The two women working at the front desk were the worst I believe one was the manager I’ve never had this experience at any other Hilton before except for this one and I will definitely not be staying here again I did reach out to corporate and unfortunately they sent my complaint back to the manager at this hotel who called me and instead of resolving my issue, kept telling me how I was wrong and refused to help Nothing positive worth saying about this hotel I highly recommend you stay elsewhere

William Butler

First there was the parking fee that I was not aware of until I checked in My corporate website did not show they charged for parking, but other hotels in the area showed their charged parking with the fees If I had known they charged for parking

I would not have made a reservation there I woke up in the morning with bug bites I moved the bathroom trash can and found packaged medication behind it Walking down the third floor central hallway caused the floor to move underfoot and make noises Not very conductive to feeling like the floor was solid underfoot Originally reserved a 3 night stay, but I checked out after the 1 night I cannot say that I would stay there again

This was a wonderful, quiet getaway The grounds were beautiful and remote, and the staff were very helpful and kind We enjoyed the layout of cottages of 2 or more rooms, and the rooms felt very private due to the layout

The views were gorgeous, and the beds were very comfortable The breakfast patio and pink moment patios were lovely!

Mike

This is the cutest little retreat you can ask for in Ojai The rooms are dispersed among cottage like structures, so you aren’t on top of each other The amenities are great given the age and remoteness of the property

The views are SPECTACULAR and the owners are such sweethearts We loved doing yoga in the waterfall garden in the morning and watching the Pink Moment from the dedicated terrace It’s nice and quiet and cozy and romantic For the price we paid, this place was a home run

I was not able to spend the two nights I booked here due to a nasty respiratory infection Currently waiting for my covid test results from a PCR, so can’t definitely say it isn’t covid Yes, they are clear about their cancellation policy online, but quite frankly, it’s extremely punitive and puts other guests at risk during COVID times

I called two days before my booking to say I was unwell and asked if I could get a credit Even a discounted credit would have sufficed Absolutely not under any circumstances unless you cancel during the five day window The office manager was kind towards me, but was also encouraging me to come up despite being sick I told her that their policies were both unfair to patrons and put others at risk if they were encouraging actively sick people to come up They book two weeks out and are constantly full, so I have a hard time believing that giving someone some sort of credit due to illness or emergency would really make their business suffer I however, lost 365 dollars (I am a freelance creative and making very little money at the moment), so this was a big loss for me I had to call them multiple times over the two days to see if they’d managed to rent out my room Only if they manage to rent it out to someone else will they refund you anything I will not be going back there due to this experience Honestly, if they had just given me a credit, even partial, I would have had a positive feeling about this place and would have simple rebooked when well

i worked as a housekeeper here for 3 months, needless to say the manager needs to step up her management as well as hiring and just ordering stuff, not sure if its fixed now but i wouldn’t hold my breathe on it, if there’s no reception they are elsewhere or on a lunch, the housekeepers and maintenance are warm and kind, always willing to help with any queries or requests, in all i would stay here, but if you were in my shoes i wouldn’t work here, the manager will pressure you into resigning (so you can’t collect unemployment) or will get rid of you somehow like the rest before that weren’t up to their standards regardless of chaotic circumstances of the situation at work or not, all is fine just what I’ve named above on that note have fun finding someone else who will peel and separate your pistachos for you :))

SUZI Q

We had an incredible weekend at Mandalay Shores Resort The apartment had everything we needed: a fully stocked kitchen, two bathrooms, three televisions, a washer & dryer, a queen bed, a sofa sleeper in the living room, and two twin beds in the loft The décor was beachy, light & airy

The pool and Jacuzzi were wonderful We even barbequed in the propane-fueled BBQ And, it is a minute’s walk to the beach! Wonderful experience and we cannot wait to go back

Nidia Lopez

Very old, dirty and outdated furniture Couch was very worn and uncomfortable Bathrooms needs to be updated, beds only had a blanket, no comforter

I was there for 7 days, no one came to clean my unit Gave me very limited supplies ex dish washing soap, toilet paper and not enough pillows Only plus is the location Very close to the beach1/17 stay Same as above but love the location Alexa in the office is super cool

It is with mixed feelings that we leave this review We’d like this place to be our own little secretWe live full time in our 30ft Airstream and need a place to winter near Ventura

Waypoint Ventura was such a gem of a find that we extended our last stay twice and already booked again for later this year It will be our go-to winter location The grounds are fabulous with such a cool vibe The morning coffee is something to look forward to The walk to downtown or the beach takes only minutes Best of all is the fabulous staff Joy and Danielle and their entire staff are so friendly and helpfulAs a reviewer stated, be careful following map apps As you carefully cross the railroad tracks from Ash Street, take a wide but sharp turn to the left and follow the frontage road with the tracks on your left At the very end, you’ll see the Waypoint sign Can’t miss itIf you’re staying in your own Airstream or vintage trailer, the hotel trailers make a great place for trailer-less family or friends to visit with you Enjoy

Margaret Mou

This is the perfect place to spend the night (or a few nights), especially after some surfing or outdoors activities The airstream itself was so cozy and beautiful (all fully renovated with new appliances) Even the shower / bathroom area was immaculate

We brought a dog, and it was the best thing for him – he enjoyed the outdoors area so much The activities were also so fun: corn hole, swings, fire pits for s’mores, etc The breakfast situation and evening hot cider were also a lovely touchThe most notable thing about Waypoint Ventura is the customer service They went truly above and beyond to make sure our stay was nothing short of the best From making sure we had charging for the car to having a quiet spot for morning meetings, we had such a comfortable time (including the pup) Everything is so thoughtfully done, and I look forward to the next time I get to visit

Hudson Brown

Waypoint was wonderful- I would recommend it for solo trips, a few friends, romantic or alone stay! The s’mores every night included with the stay was awesome Our RV was really clean and lots of thoughtful details, great natural light and loved that we all had our own patio! The bathroom was beautiful and they had sample sized breakfast, free coffee and water The grounds were well kept, swings were a great touch and you can borrow beach towels and bikes

Absolutely had a blast!

We thought the inn was charming Very quiet, room was clean One thing that was missing was a bedside table and lamp

There was a lamp in the corner but the bulbs were fluorescent 😬 my wife likes to read before bed, and the only light was the ceiling Maybe take out the large desk by the bed and center the bed, put in 2 nightstands and 2 lamps with soft light Easy fix Nice to have a fridge and microwave The staff was very friendly There was nowhere to hang clothes but 3 hooks on a wall I think that would be an easy fix also with a little rearranging, a small armoire would fit nicely We enjoyed the stay, and would stay again

H Dog M

4 shower towels in bathroom that all had other peoples hair in them among other stainsThe bed sheets also had stains in themThe lamp next to bed did not work

I would not come here unless you like dirty rooms They definitely need to update their cloth

Suladys Osborn

We stayed here the last few days and I’m beyond disappointedRooms: OKAY There was hair in some of our towels and a rotten egg smell coming from the sink that would bubble up randomly and stink up the entire room

It was unbearable The sheets were clean though The shower seemed fine but the pressure was very lowService: Front desk and bar was wonderful Everyone was absolutely amazingWe are beyond disappointed in our experience I have always stayed in Marriott’s and they’ve never disappointedDo better

This is an older Courtyard with a nice staff We stayed for 6 nights in July 2022 They host a lot of weddings and conference groups so it can be busy

I loved the patios with a door that opens completely No furniture to sit on your patio but we loved the air flow Gym is well set up Guest laundry is $350/load and the front desk will give you soap The bigger trees in the parking lot will shower your car in sticky fruit so park carefullyMy favorite breakfast is to go to the food court at the Collection mall across the 101 Ragamuffin coffee does a perfect dark pour over for $4 Blend juice bar is amazing for açaí bowls and fresh juices

This is a nice hotel convenient to the 101 freeway There’s a gas station right across the street The rooms have kitchens including a microwave, fridge, stove and a dishwasher

There’s a small dining area with a table and chairs Unfortunately the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete and the A/C was noisy The free breakfast has hot items like biscuits and sausage, plus waffles, bagels, toast, etc The coffee was great The staff were helpful There’s no restaurant so you have to go about 5 miles to find any but there are many to choose from

ELIZABETH ZAMORA

I had previously stayed here and my visits were always great however I tried to Block about 12 rooms for my wedding about five months before every time I would call they wouldn’t tell me that A manager would call me back to confirm a week ago I called and the same thing happened the girl on the other line told me I was also a manager would call me just to double check all the dates and confirm however I didn’t hear back from the manager I called this morning and come to find out that they are totally booked for the days I’m asking and the only thing available would be Friday nights mind you I need a room is from Thursday to Sunday This is so frustrating because now I have to try and look for another hotel that will accommodate all the rooms and have these available for my wedding that’s in less than a week

katrina gorgy

The front desk agent said my guest room number out loud during check-in instead of pointing to it like they are supposed to The staff in the hotel industry are instructed to not even say the room number out loud for privacy and safety reasons (seems like common sense) The guest may choose to read their room number aloud from the key jacket but the staff is only to point to it when handing over the key cards

I felt very unsafe and shocked when my room number was announced for everyone to hear The agents need better safety and common sense training Please do better

No hot water I asked several times about the lack of hot water and I was told to just let the water run for 5 to 10 minutes I felt bad about wasting so much water but let it run and it never warmed up

When I complained at the front desk they told me they couldn’t do anything but they would have management contact me Of course management never did contact me I felt a partial refund would have been appropriateThe room itself was clean and efficient A little small, but not an actual issue Parking was tight, but was able to park in a covered spaceNot sure I’d recommend it based on management and the lack of hot water, especially not at the price we paid

PET OWNERS STAY AWAY, Poor Customer Service! This place lists as pet friendly, but I did not receive a welcoming experience by one particular receptionist When I booked, I confirmed with the initial receptionist that I would be bringing my small dog She confirmed this was okay and sent me my receipt

However, when I was a half hour away on the day of check-in, there was another receptionist who called me to say the hotel had made an error by booking me in my suite, and there would be an increase in daily pet fee I explained that my dog was an ESA, certified by primary care MD, hypoallergenic, well-behaved, and traveled and flew with me everywhere She was unapologetic, and rather than argue with her, I agreed to pay the difference as I was limited in options to book elsewhere because of the same day arrivalThe suite in itself, had some cleanliness issues – the hot tub had what appeared to be blood so was unable to use it, there was a 6 inch strand of blonde hair (I have black) on one of my towels, a used sponge for cleaning dishes, balcony that was filled with balls/sticks from the tree, and the heater rattled which needs repair I unfortunately had a poor experience with the one receptionist so was unable to request for these to be fixed When I explained some of the problems at check-out, the receptionist immediately compensated me to my original pet fee and stated she would look into the other itemsAll in all, save yourself the headache, and book your stay elsewhere!

My husband and I were just looking for an affordable clean place to sleep/shower and this little hotel was perfect When you walk into the room you can smell it’s been cleaned It was small but comfortable

Loved how it was in walking distance to everything We also had breakfast included at their restaurant and that was good as well We had an issue with our shower and they switched us to another room without hassle Could use some better sound proofing but overall a great place to stay

A friendly staff let our check-in process run smoothly She recognized my Marriott Elite Platinum status and gave me a complimentary upgradeI enjoyed a fire pit in my suite and nice golf courses view from thecafeteria at the morning breakfast and a 6-load hot spa (hot tub)

Also enjoyed a sightseeing view at Channel Islands Harbor, a 12-minutes drive from the hotel – see two pictures taken during my visit

After a bad experience at this hotel, we won’t be staying in a Marriott hotel again My wife, son, our dog, and I stayed at the Residence Inn for a few days in early July One day I took my son to the Channel Isles for a day trip while my wife stayed back to watch our dog at the hotel

She had trouble getting the key card to open the door to our room so she went to the front desk Nicole at the front desk refused to help my wife because her name wasn’t listed on the room reservation – I had booked it My wife was shocked that a hotel would just turn away a guest After all she had a key card She showed the front desk attendant an email with the room confirmation and her ID which had the same address as my address on file at the hotel But Nicole said “Sorry I can’t help you” She suggested that my wife have me call the front desk, but I was out of range of cell service on a boat in the Pacific Eventually my wife left the front desk and asked for the cleaning staff to help A very kind woman found someone from the maintenance department to help my wife regain access to our room The problem was the door lock was in the wrong positionThe next day I called the manager and shared our disappointment in the hotel The manager apologized but kept repeating that the staff were following a hotel security policy wherein they can only let people listed on the hotel booking back into rooms I was puzzled by that since the front desk issues two key cards to me when I checked in but never asked who was staying in the room No hotel I’ve stayed at has ever asked that If the Marriott was going to enforce this security policy then the front desk should make sure they know who will stay in the hotel’s rooms The manager repeated to me several times that the security policy exists so the hotel is not liable in case something goes wrong At that point I understood that the policy doesn’t exist for a guest’s security It exists to make sure the hotel is protected The manager never offered to make up for the incidentTo add to the disappointing experience, our room in building 8 had an ant problem You could see them on the walls in the kitchen And they got into some of the food we had packed for a lunchI do not recommend this hotel for anyone

This place was great! The suite wasn’t that much more cost so I elected the suite Full kitchen with the kitchenware needed to cook 3 beds (all one room not multiple rooms), very comfortable

Bicycling the entire west coast and I got the great night sleep I desperately needed Neil is very friendly and accommodating The room was immaculately clean Quiet place, safe, everything in working order Will definitely stay here again when back in town Thanks Neil!

This is one of the nicest resorts I’ve ever stayed in Once you get here you’ll never want to leave the grounds are surrounded by mountains, golf courses and some beautiful trees

The staff was very warm and friendlyAll in all it was a super relaxing and refreshing experience Tip – if you come at a busy time, don’t ask the staff to bring your luggage to the room, take it yourself, it will take them over an hour

I came to the inn for a work trip, but we had some downtime between meetings to explore Such an incredible resort, so beautiful The staff was kind and attentive

I want to give a special thank you to Elizabeth at the front desk She was absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and made my stay 10/10 I hope to be back with family for a vacation to enjoy the rest of the amenities

Friendly staff, quiet rooms, and yummy breakfast! We stayed one night for our son’s birthday celebration and loved it! Definitely get a room with a view! The only slight disappointment was that the pool and spa were at the Four Seasons and the walk was quite chilly (we went around 5 pm) getting there The spa said 16 or older only and the pool was not very warm and not visible from the spa at all I’m sure the pool is nice in the summer though

Thank you for a nice mini getaway for our family

Quaint and comfortable motor lodge with a hip ambiance is a solid 3 stars The bar, pool and grounds are nicely curated This was once a little more “hip” than it was this time around and is now a favorite for those who need a place to let their kids run around

It also seems to be a local favorite as most of the pool going families were locals not staying in the hotel Maybe it was just an off day but it seemed that priority was given to those who weren’t staying at the hotel The rooms are probably missing a couple lamps or maybe a skylight as they are quite dark even in the day but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me

Over priced for what you get Basic road side hotel with nice interior finishes and good branding Room is extremely dark and opens up to parking lot

No privacy as windows face parking lotKids running around all day from pool and slamming doors constantly Pool was crowded with tons of kids For the price, I expected better

The Ojai Rancho Inn is a small motor lodge that looks like it was built in the 1950’s When you first arrive, it’s not too impressive, visually But the place grows on you – it’s got that “Ojai funky” feel

If you go, get #19, which is the largest room It’s at the rear, and faces on a wide grassy garden area, and adjoins the pool and a small sauna on the other side I did not see any rooms other than ours, which was furnished in knotty pine, with a synthetic wood floor (practical) The bed was plenty large (king or California king size) and a bit soft for my tastes, but very comfortable The gas fireplace was a very nice amenity Unfortunately, it stopped working at one point during the night The bathroom was large, and everything was cleanWe were not charged for an air mattress for our third person, which was nice I was told when departing that I’d receive a discount for the fireplace not working I didn’t ask for it, wasn’t expecting it, but the clerk offered that It showed up on my credit card a day or two after the chargesThe rear of the property abuts a hiking trail, which is a benefit The property is about a half-mile walk from downtown Ojai
