I had a quick weekend trip here, and I can’t say enough good things about this hotel The staff was amiable and attentive I requested an early check-in when I booked my room

I showed up at noon, and check-in was at 3 pm The hotel was able to give me a room (although other than the one I booked A slight downgrade, but I was just happy to have a room early) They offered to move me to my room once it was ready But I decided to just stay in the same room The hotel was immaculate, and the room was great I had an executive King suite originally and ended up staying in the standard King suite The room was great, comfortable bed and good amenities at this hotel I wish the breakfast was open a bit longer, but not a deal-breaker I would definitely stay here again! Great job

Kayla

I recently stayed at this hotel for a couple nights during my first ever trip to Louisville and it was a great experience! The staff were all very professional, yet courteous and approachable You can’t beat the location—super close to everything we wanted to see in Louisville Lots of restaurants within walking distance makes it easy to grab a meal or order food delivery

My only complaint is that the breakfast is pretty lacking, but I didn’t expect much for the great price I got!

Hotel was dated and dirty If you have to stay in this area, the Springhill Suites is attached and is much newerHuge stains on the carpet, no hand soap in the bathroom

I am not confident the sheets were cleanThe front desk staff and the breakfast attendant were really friendly…HOUSEKEEPING NOT SO MUCH!!! When we were leaving, a group of them gathered on the 6th floor and stood around We green Ed some of them but no one would talk or smile We tried to stay out of their way as we were making our way to the ice machine and the elevator with our stuff, but we got a lot of eye rolls and none of them even cared that we were trying to get through One woman even went out of her way to hit my husband with a laundry cart!! Never again!!! We love Marriott and they should be ashamed of this hotel!!

It was nice to stay somewhere clean Shower nice and hot When the tv remote battery died, they brought a new remote up straight away

They had no control over the crazy kids running around screaming in the lobby playing on the pool table but I just walked through the lobby as quick as I could Was a bit annoyed of the 2 week wait on refund of holding charge which is full price(effectively paying twice) but at least I got it back Also annoyed the booking dept pressure you like a sales call to a discount offer on a potential future hotel stay and then ask your bank info to sign up (Obviously I rejected) Overall though, apart from the booking process, I recommend to stay here for the fact it is secure, clean and the room was quiet and very comfortable Would definitely stay again

Staff is friendly and helpful Free drinks and appetizers on Wednesday evenings Hot breakfast every morning with fresh fruit

Lobby is inviting and has a nice pool table to enjoy There’s a nice grill area outside for cooking out I really like this hotel when staying in Louisville Plus it’s pet friendly and elevators are fast which is really aggravating at some of the other downtown hotels

Quan Schneider

I typically don’t write public reviews on Hilton hotels as a Diamond member, but I was disappointed with an incident I was not acknowledged as a Diamond member (not a big deal, but wanted to note) Compared to 2020 (during the riots), I was happy to see that some renovations had been made to the bathroom

Overall, the staff is friendly, location is good, and it was a clean hotel with the basic amenities for a Homewood Suites Parking is $20 in the garage, but I understand it is not owned by the hotel The reason I gave it 3 stars was due to an incident I had at breakfast The employee running the breakfast area was unprofessional I tried my best to not let it ruin breakfast, but when the employee made a comment a few minutes later about me to another employee as I was standing 4 feet away from them, that’s when I snapped I told the employee I did not appreciate them talking about me as I stand right next to them Both employees acted as if they were talking about someone else After cooling down, I went downstairs and apologized for snapping and the employee apologized also We hugged it out We all have bad days and I understand in this industry you have to deal with a lot

This was a nice hotel Very clean The staff was cordial

The breakfast was disappointing There needs to be vegan options There was packaged oatmeal with brown sugar already in it and then there were extra toppingswhy? Please, get a bulk container with a dispenser attached and fill it with some whole grain rolled oats Keep the toppings there and we’re good! You’ll save a ton of money just by making this one change

Stayed 2 nights in mid May The room refrigerator didn’t work and was not fixed or swapped out during our stay A bucket of ice was a decent substitute

The full breakfast lacked bacon Only sausage and eggs plus the other continental type items The room was nice Clean Kids liked the indoor pool Excellent location for the Exhibition Center Staff was friendly I would stay again if ever in Louisville

Hank Fuller

Nice facility Located near airport Earplugs were provided

But we didn’t experience any noise issuesComplimentary hot breakfast was good except for the “hot” part The eggs and sausage were at room temperature Hot food needs to be maintained at a temp over 140⁰F to prevent bacteria growth This needs to be corrected

Room was pretty dirty I had to clean everything, my feet were black from dirt at the endStaff was truly amazing except for the manager, but hopefully the average guest will not have to deal with her

Location is great for a short walk to bars and restaurants by the river, but next door to a homeless outreach programI was at this hotel over 30 days

Funny part is I had a reservation and I called the evening before, 02/07/22, to get an accessible room Between the male and female I spoke with I wasted 20 minutes and got nowhere Call back on the day of my check in for better info, is how the conversation ended

I was definitely not excited to go to this hotel, this coming from a diamond member of many years I called back the morning of my flight and got Megan the manager 4-5 minutes later the room was set, no issues Once I got there everyone was great and very friendly Breakfast was not bad, room was great, and coffee and tea were always refilled and hot Great stay, I was pleasantly surprised

Kynicka McNeil

I’ve come here a few times within the last few years, but this visit there was a few things that stuck out… one being the front desk receptionist Cerria, she was so amazing not only to us but to the children She was Super amazing Also James the driver was so sweet, he treated us just like family

These two are what makes the stay easy They were so genuinely nice We are so excited to have this spot to meet up with our family from out of town They have made our experience the greats! Thank you so much for being amazing to our family!

Chris B

I had high hopes since I like this chain Rooms are very large, new looking at first glance but I notice some upkeep issues already Not cleaning corners of counters, sink, Wallpaper already peeling in bathroom (likely design or application flaw

humidity from shower and basic wall paper is a bad mix)Breakfast was a series of Jimmy Dean items warmed up, scramble, sandwiches, etc Nice outdoor patios, pool, work out area Front desk team is good As others noted, I asked for a quiet room, maybe there is no such thing close to the airportFor one night it did the job

My wife and I stayed for 1 night as we were traveling through the area Simply put, everything was excellent! The cleanliness of the room, the decor, the accommodations, the staff, everything! The outside and inside of this establishment is incredible! The space is so warm and homely and inviting If you can’t relax here and enjoy yourself then you can’t anywhere! Whether you are looking for something romantic or just a place to relax, this is the place! I can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful restoration, meticulous historic woodwork, interior exposed brick walls, amazing staircase — all presided over by Steve after rescuing the house when it burned 20+ years ago Fabulous bathrooms, comfortable beds, good breakfasts Loved the leek souffle and the Norwegian breakfast pudding! Charming hospitality

Great location within blocks of parks, restaurant and shops

Desk staff was extremely courteousFacility location is great for the Expo Center!Limited WiFi in our third floor roomCounters clean

Floors swept Fridge clean inside Good AC Window also opened Nice TV Front desk staffed whenever we were in the lobbyDid not hear the planes at the airportSheets clean, but had multiple visible stains Accumulated dirt and grime in corners of bathroom and in cabinetry/closer Back security door isn’t consistently closed by guests despite sign requesting it be closedNot sure if I was informed in advance about 100 security deposit when I booked the room I was surprised by it at check-in, but I might have missed it in reservation detailsWill probably stay further out from the Expo Center next visit at another brand hotel because the price was high for the room quality This is a great location if you must be close and the people are great

I booked 2 rooms days for May 26-29 before my arrival I also called twice to let staff know that I would be arriving around 2am Friday morning I was driving from South Carolina

I was advised that everything will be fine upon my arrival I get to the property and was greeted unpleasant just to be told that they only had one of my rooms available We arrived around 1:40 am Friday morning so I was confused on why both of my rooms weren’t available I asked multiple times how and why did this happen I offered to go get my phone out of the car to show the front desk attendant my booking confirmation Initially I was told I don’t need to get my phone because they had no extra rooms to accommodate me and my other guest( I had a total of 3 people including myself) I asked if I could speak with a manager to sort this out I was told I could at 9am Then I was told I could go get my phone to show my confirmation But to no avail! Because the attendant calls the manger I assume and tells them I do have a confirmation for two rooms So she offers me a room for only one night After she ends the call and my mother and I are discussing amongst ourselves we will still have to figure out what we were going to do about the extra nights we needed the front desk attendant continues to yell and disrespect me and “says that’s what you get for booking online” I can’t magically make a room appear ” Not once was I rude until she decided she wanted to yell and curse at me The police were called on my mother and I all because I wanted an explanation My mother never had a conversation with the attendant yet when she called the police she stated that we both were aggressive and wanted us removed from her property We weren’t the aggressors She was And to conduct that type of behavior towards someone in your work establishment is unacceptable and very unprofessional Thank you for the example of how SureStay by Best Western in Louisville Ky treats certain customers!! I only gave 1 star because I could post without leaving a rating

Hailey

Overall great stay We stayed in the king suite and it was clean The breakfast was a good spread

The reason for a 4 star is because the sofa bed mattress had some red stains and was not nice to see so the couple ended up sleep on just the couch and the floor Close to the Kentucky Derby, like a 10 min drive and if absolutely needed an hour walk

Really nice So nice I was surprised & commented so The front desk man wascultured & offered coffee

Completelyclean hall ways, elevators, and bathrooms They don’t use draconian towing if you bychance needed to park in a 20 minuteslot Three security guards were thereAn inside swimming pool Has a little convenient store area so you don’thave to run anywhere Havingbeen to hundreds of motel/hotelswhere all of the above things neededsome improvement, this is done right

Stayed here for Thunder to avoid that chaotic traffic mess that ensues every year Had a beautiful room, with a stunning view My wife and I had a wonderful evening

If you are looking for a room with size, a decent sized shower stall, and comfortable beds look no further The manager for this location is super nice, as well as all the employees I will definitely be back for another stay

K Christopher

It was a decent place to stay for a night The shower in our room wasn’t very clean and there was a stain on one of the bed covers One of the closet doors was missing which isn’t a big deal but just makes me wonder how well they upkeep

Parking is kind of a pain It was noisy at night and there was a fire station about a block away so there were sirens going quite a bit Staff was friendly Breakfast was a little disappointing but it is a free hotel breakfast so we weren’t expecting a 5 star restaurant Pool is tiny Overall it wasn’t terrible but we would probably find a different hotel if we ever come back to the area

We called ahead and made our reservations and was told they had a pool and breakfast at 0630 once we arrived and check in we went and ate We returned and went to use the pool to find a note on the door that said out of order

Went to the front desk and was told no its open Told the person in charge about the note and she said the maintenance guy does that let me call him and I will find out She then told us that the pool was closed because the maintenance guy didn’t test the water and wasn’t going to come in and test it So no pool even thought that was one of the primary reasons we booked the room In the morning when we got up for breakfast there was no breakfast No one came in that was supposed to work and make the breakfast or get the pre made food out after waiting an hour then someone showed up and started to make the food but we could not wait anymore we had to get one the road I stopped at the front desk and asked about our bill since the accommodations that we paid for we never received I was told by the person at the front desk that there wasn’t anything they could do about it Then the maintenance guy came up to me and told me that the pool wasn’t open yesterday because he had adjusted the chemical level in the pool yesterday and he didn’t test it before he left I asked again if they would adjust the bill since we could not use the pool and there still wasn’t a breakfast and was told they could not help me I would never stay at this hotel again!!!!!!! I have stayed in this type of hotel before and was very happy but this one needs some new staff that knows who the customer is and that they work for the customer!

Jessica Plizga

Checked in to a filthy room Had to wash the floors because there was so much grit/dirt on the floor Not a very old building but the doors are not straight

I could see right through clearly Kitchen utensils were dirty – had to clean before I used anything Staff was unfriendly for the most part Had a few really nice cleaning staff and desk staff but for the most part, a very unfriendly experience

Selina Quick

PROS: The room was clean and staff was friendly The room had a kitchenette with full sized fridge, microwave, coffee machine, 2 burner cooktop, and a mini dishwasher Staff was great when we requested extra blankets and the mini store was well stocked

The desk worker, Caleb, went above and beyond to make sure my partner and I made it to the airport on timeCONS: The hotel is in the airport flight path so you will hear planes flying overhead throughout the night I’m a heavy sleeper so it wasn’t an issue for me, but may be for others The bathroom had a walk-in shower with support handles, but there is a 2 inch lip to the shower floor so you do have to step up and over it to get into the shower This may pose a challenge for those with limited mobility I’m not sure if their handicapped accessible rooms have different showers, but I would double check if this is a concern of yours

The location of the inn in New Albany, IN is close enough to Louisville for convenience, but far enough away for a relaxed, small-town feel New Albany was very charming with many good restaurants and historical features The Inn was comfortable, low-key, and beautifully decorated, creating a wonderful atmosphere for our anniversary getaway

Melissa, the owner, was always available and responsive to questions The room was well appointed with a private bathroom Snacks and coffee/tea were always available and the pool was refreshing on a hot Summer day I highly recommend the Admiral Bicknell Inn

John Lake

I had to travel for business and stayed at the Inn in the Paris room I arrived late, but the owner was very accomodating, going out of her way to make me feel comfortable and make sure all of my needs were met I only wish I would have had more time to spend in the Inn as it is a beautiful mansion, well kept, clean, and very comfortable

The breakfast in the morning was awesome – best I have had a B & B with a fresh fruit bowl that was delicious I definitely plan on staying here again as I slept great (bed was perfect), had best shower I can remember and enjoyed everything about the Inn If you have the time to spend, this would be a relaxing get away in downtown New Albany Wish I had more time to chat with the owner as she was very knowledgeable about the area, the Inn, and a great person!

Preston Hobbie

First, and most important, the lovely hospitality, energy, and service are incredible We especially enjoy going there Yes, the Greenway is a nice bike ride, and downtown New Albany is a joy and rather eclectic, but we find the grounds of the Inn to be as well

This time we discovered the metal preying mantis!! Next time who knows? Additionally, Valla Ann’s laid back demeanor is appreciated as she guides you through a great experience, but never gets close to being in the way A most excellent experience all the way I highly recommend the place, on all levels: location, quality and hospitality

The desk staff was super friendly and attentive to detailed requests The room was clean The bed was comfortable

I thought the lighting in the room was a bit dark, but that’s ok The little bit of computer work that I needed to do was by the desk light that was adjustable The continental breakfast was “eh” One morning the biscuits and sausages were obviously leftover and re-warmed from the previous day But when I came back about an hour later, the food was fresh One day they had this Frankenstein “bacon” Maybe it was turkey bacon or plant-based Regardless, I think they should have labeled it But that was a small matter I thought the price was a bit inflated, however, we were there during Easter weekend and the week before Derby festivities That may have accounted for the inflated price Overall, my hubby and I were pleased with the stay and intend to return this summer

Phyllis POLLNITZ

I give this hotel a poor rating this time, not because of it’s clean room, it’s friendly staff, nor it’s convenient location But it was because of an annoying flashing light in the middle of our room that Resembled a police officer’s car! When I called to complain about 3 AM the first night, he said maintenance will take care of it later that morning Well that didn’t happen and neither of us got good sleep, and both of us were very tired and irritable the whole 6 Hour Drive home! While we love the location, we may have to change hotels on next visit

It would’ve been so nice to get a call or reimbursement of some type, but it never came

swordoflorn

I’ve been staying at hotels across Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana for over a year, and I have to say, this one has the absolute worst customer service The lady on the phone was rude and hung on on me before we were done with the reservation Aside from a clean room, this is the most important aspect of a hotel

Hire better customer service

Very nice hotel situated in a perfect downtown location Brandy at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating upon arrival We stayed in a one bedroom suite with beautiful views of the city

Our first night, we enjoyed dinner and cocktails in Kristian and Justin were friendly and offered many suggestions for must do’s while in Louisville The drinks were delicious Kristian is the best! The pool is not open nor is the rooftop bar Those things should be advertised for booking

Mahmoud elJazzar

A hidden gem in the cityThe rooms are modern, perfect and amazing! The location is near downtown Louisville so it’s surrounded by different restaurantsThe staff are professional, bilinguals and supportive

I had some comments on the cleaning but not major onesBy far one of the best rooms I ever stayed in, even better than the Felix and Lincoln hotel in Chicago ( double the price of this one!!)Also, I revisited the hotel again, and everything was perfect (not a single comment :))

themayerhood

SO close to a 5 star visit! What they do right: great location, rooms are VERY clean, VERY comfortable and any staff we encountered at the restaurant or front desk were friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible Side note, the wings in their restaurant were PHENOMENAL The restaurant was definitely understaffed as the wait time for food was at least 40 minutes

BUT, I don’t think that is typical, they were overrun with a huge crowd, so I would absolutely be prepared that could happen again, yet understanding as everyone was working really hard and apologetic What they get wrong: no explanation or warning of an $18 per night self park fee in an unattended lot across the street They offer valet parking where the prices is openly stated on the website and at the door (and uses the same unattended lot, btw) There is no mention on the website OR at the time of check in about this “self park” charge We stayed there a month ago and had no such charge so BE AWARE I need to add that when I called to complain, they removed the charge Hopefully, they update the website to reflect the charge ahead of time

After checking in, and stores immediately since we were about 100 feet away from the interstate The stove top did not work either Moved to the second room, again the stove top didn’t work

The dishwasher was taken apart, there have obviously been a leak with water squishing from the floor The front desk was not aware of the appliance problems in either of the rooms! Leads you to ask, what does maintenance do here? Our multiple calls to the front desk were greeted with annoyed politeness, and an obvious hurry to get off the phone Not coming here again, and have already called Marriott corporate

I had such a wonderful stay here! From the kind valets that greeted us outside, our quick and friendly check-in with Emily, our room, dinner, and everything in-between! Our room (Luxury King) was very clean and spacious Comfortable beds and great amenities Our dinner at Proof was delicious and our server Austin was so sweet and knowledgeable

We had waters delivered by the sweetest night auditor as well! Just a flawless stay and wonderful location!

This place is wonderful! Well appointed rooms, welcoming lobby, great restaurant! What makes this place stand out for me is the staff You will not find a more welcoming, genuine, and friendly staff ANYWHERE!!!! Every staff member seems to love being there The doormen are OUTSTANDING! We will absolutely be back to stay here again! If you stay elsewhere in downtown Louisville you are missing out! Also pet friendly for only $40! A lot of other hotels charge over $100 for a pet fee

This place is the best!

Disclaimer: I did not stay in the rooms rather I visited the art exhibit From a visitor from mid-west Kansas, it was a sort of fascinating, yet demeaning experience overall But that’s for the good

The artwork displayed were so intricate that at first-glance you could not decipher any meaning nor derive any pleasure looking at them This exhibit is not to showcase art to please your senses, rather the art is there to showcase the artist’s feelings about the world If this doesn’t sound like your art exhibit that is perfectly fine, art is not supposed to please everyoneI struggled for a long time to decipher what I should extract from each art piece and I frequently had to consult the descriptions located besides each piece I felt hopeless at times but it’s never wrong to ask for help, and heck if it’s just some black and white paint, that can be art in itselfMy only grip is that the merch at the exhibit was very pricey but very understandable I wish they just had mini red penguins so I can bring one to my sister for a price that doesn’t empty my wallet

Staff was incredibly rude Was charged for items and services I did not receive Parking was a disaster

air conditioning did not work for 2 days and was told that those nights would be “comped” I was actually charged the full date for those night Not even a discount Do not stay here unless it’s your last resortHowever There are few hotels in Louisville that accept pets and they do

Dylan Upchurch

the room itself was comfortable and clean and the guy at the desk when we checked out was super friendly (even though nobody else really was)

it took what felt like forever to even get in our room we didn’t get the room we paid for, and the keycards wouldn’t work we paid for a disability shower and were told it was “unavailable” and just got placed a different room with no compensation the staff in the beginning were decently rude and the entire building didn’t really look like the pictures at all we were also told our room would overlook the Kentucky kingdom park and it did not it overlooked an empty parking lot Overall it was alright, better than motel 6, but not worth the price

Swapnil Suraj

My experience was awful My bathroom door malfunctioned and locked The staff did not even bother to call maintenance to get it fixed

They offered another room but I had no way to check about the stuff locked in the bathroom I had to leave it behind due to having a flight to catch The pots and pans were in the dishwasher and not stacked They were also incredibly dirty The manager was incredibly rude to other customers I would suggest to avoid this place and report to the IHG group

Adequate for an Affordable StayRooms were clean and well equipped with dated furniture that was functional There was ample storage and room to be comfortable Common areas needed attention especially the buildings grounds, weeds everywhere with a dead tree right outside the front entrance (first impression)

Overall if you’re looking for a quiet, average place to stay at a good price point with no frills this will work for you If traveling through I’d stay again but would not use this hotel for a long-term stay

Brandi Scott

Located off Fern valley road quiet hotel away from the interstate Rooms are very clean that front desk was very helpful during my entire stay Breakfast is Continental and good assortment of items They also have meeting rooms and swimming pool

I would suggest this hotel to anyone looking to stay somewhere economical as well as comfortable

Susan Lanham

I stayed on the 13th its now the 23rd and I’m still waiting on my deposit Uuuggghhh My husband and I travel often and I have never experienced anything like this They say 100% should be returned and they returned half and no one knows why

They tell me they are still working on it and tell me to have a nice day How, when there has been no kind of compensation for their mistake It was a nice place but unless something changes we will go elsewhere next time

Worst management I’ve ever seen at ahotel They were extremely rude and non-professional My family and I booked a room for One day, to be specific today is the day we booked

We got there and they had marked us down for the wrong day We asked for our money back since the next day would be completely useless to us Management refused to give us our money back, and now we are left hotel less and can’t get another hotel since they took our money I completely understand not giving our money back if they could just give us a room for today Our experience left us completely infuriated The hotel also charged us more when we got there, when the original price was lower In respectfulness this hotel doesn’t even deserve a one star

Stayed at this awesome hotel the weekend of March 11th-13thTaking a spontaneous trip to Louisville for the weekend, I hadn’t pre-booked a room for the weekend After being turned away from two other hotels, we settled on this hotel out of necessity

A blessing in disguise! The cost of booking here is an absolute value The amenities, modern design comforts and absolutely incredible staff make it an easy choice for future visitsI took a little time to chat with with Katie, the general manager on Sunday morning during breakfast I have never met a person for suited for the hospitality industry She genuinely cares about your stay, and will be evident in every aspect of your visitHigh marks for this hotel I will definitely book here again in the future
