Nice place, but the stay wasn’t worth the money at all Each day we had to request that our rooms be cleaned They knew we were 4 people in the room, yet each day they only provided 3 towels

I requested an extra pillow, but none were available The resort claims to be a Spa and Culinary resort No cooking classes were offered during the week Very limited spa availability The tavern staff seemed troubled when we would arrive-each time they told us they only had one chef and one server The furniture, carpets, linens, basically everything was worn and dingy Overall this “resort” needs a makeover The grounds, however were very nice The tavern food was good

Such a great getaway! We went up for the week and were excited when we reached the check-in desk where we found an assortment of tasty pastries and baked good (vegan ones too!) Not gonna lie, we bought one just about every time we walked by during our stay, they were so good! The staff throughout the resort were friendly and helpful and made the experience a smooth and enjoyable one, providing insight and suggestions for things to do on and off the property We grabbed dinner at the Tavern which was delishhhhh and took a culinary class which I loved! The Chef was great, made a custom menu that met my dietary needs, and provided a lot of knowledge and insight into the dish and cooking process I was able to try vegetables that I’ve never had before and open my eyes up to new culinary ideas

We also got to stroll the grounds and check out the chef’s garden as well as goats! Of course we also took some time in the Spa which was relaxing and enjoyable, offering all the amenities before relaxing in the afternoon in the pool and hot tub The room was perfect (and a variety of styles to choose from), 2 person tub, comfy bed, and mini fridge I honestly can’t wait to be back!

Went here as a Road Scholar inter generational experience with my granddaughter It was titled Culinary Curiosities The facility was well suited for the program: cooking stations for each child, with supplies

Two chefs shared their knowledgeand skills Our rooms were spacious Swimming pools indoor and out allowed activity for free time

Great bar and restaurant The staff were very accommodating Clean room with comfortable beds

Highly recommend upgrading to a room with a bathtub if possible Was great to soak after walking Church Street in the winter! The Tesla destination chargers were close to the entrance and free to use for customers Be careful of the low ceiling, you can hit your trunk if it opens high enough!

Just came home from a delightful two night stay at The Hotel Vermont Unless you are looking for one of their suites, I recommend a corner king room with a view of Lake Champlain and the mountains beyond Super comfortable bed, and well-appointed, easy to use furnishings

The common coffee, tea, water, and fresh fruit station on each floor is a much better way to provide this amenity than machines in each room Juniper, the in-house restaurant and bar, serves a relatively limited menu, but the food was well-presented and very delicious There are several restaurants on either side of the hotel: less than a minute’s walk Above average service and care by all the hotel’s employeesWe strongly recommend The Hotel Vermont We’ll be coming back!

Adam Matthew

Stayed for a long weekend and despite the price, it appeared to be worth it Got there and aside from its close proximity to the water, it’s just like any other 3-4 star hotel in Burlington Definitely not worth the premium they put on their rooms

No breakfast included which was a disappointment Rooms were clean and the staff very pleasant But for $350+ a night I’d pass

Five stars plus for Kelsey at the front desk My wife and I stayed here on a Thursday night after a 100-mile drive in winter weather We checked into a first-floor room across the hall from a baby and a dog

It’s great that this place accommodates a variety of guests, and it’s even better they have flexibility Kelsey hooked us up with a quiet and super comfortable fourth-floor room Thank you! Hotel is clean, hot breakfast included, and the Windjammer restaurant is right next door, a short walk through the New England snow Facilities staff was truly helpful with shoveling out guests following a foot-plus snowfall

Chris L.

You can definitely do a lot better in Burlington The staff here is mostly friendly – other than a strange encounter with the front desk where he insisted my room key couldn’t possibly be broken when it definitely was They have a helpful convenience shop that sells basic goods around the clock, and there’s a relatively charming pub attached to the property with good beer selection and bar food

They have a pool that is clean, but the chairs are dirty/uncomfortable and could use updatingThe rooms are for sure the worst part…which is kind of the deal breaker Tiny pillows, very limited space for moving around, and the bathrooms are worn We found a giant hairball on the wall of our shower, which had us second-guessing what else hadn’t been cleaned before our arrivalNot exactly located in a charming area: you’re surrounded by a number of gas stations and the highway We found a drug needle in the parking lot, and there was an armed guard on duty at night which didn’t exactly ooze “safety”…although at least they care about protecting their guests You are walking distance to a very good bagel place (called “The Bagel Place”) and a short drive from a cute old-fashioned diner as wellIf you’re in town for a quick stay, looking to save a few bucks, and don’t care about location, fancy amenities, or size of room, this will do the trick But if you’re trying to have a true getaway and also care about cleanliness, updated rooms, and being able to walk to local attractions in downtown Burlington, I can’t recommend this Best Western

We were in town for the marathon We chose this hotel for it’s reasonable price and proximity to the marathon start Our room was on the 4th floor

The room was either extremely well maintained or recently renovated It was also pleasantly quiet Having a mini-fridge and microwave in the room was extremely helpful The hotel was well sourced with a polite and helpful staff The free breakfast was the best we have had at a hotel in years To quote one of the guests “This is legit” The coffee was great and the staff kept it fresh in the lobby around the clock This hotel exceeded our expectations

Super comfortable, and I’m still dreaming of the bed! Nicely decorated rooms that make your stay feel more like staying at a friend or family’s house rather than a institutionalized hotel The bathroom and bedroom were both very clean and had essentials if needed! The hosts were very sweet and able to accommodate my last minute needs (due to flight cancellation) Will stay again!

Oh My Goodness

5 Stars, hands downNeither of us have been to Burlington VT (but we’ve both been camping in VT when we were younger) and since we love New England, we thought Burlington would be the perfect spot And besides, we started planning the trip earlier this year because we both really needed a vacation – it had been years since either of us went away for “fun”And it truly was the perfect spot! We spent five days and six nights here and it was seriously the most romantic getaway you could think of – partly because the room we stayed in was perfect: elegant and romantic but very simple It was a tad bit too cold and rainy to sit on the porch or their patio most days, but I still appreciated the beautiful gardens and flowers that were still in bloomBill greeted us at the door and helped us carry our baggage upstairs He was incredibly helpful, and though we didn’t seem him, or his wife, often, he was definitely helpful with the food recommendations and their dogs are so cute! What’s more – and I think this is why this perfect little bed and breakfast, and Burlington VT in general, will always hold a soft spot for both of us because this is where we got ENGAGED!We definitely plan to go back, at least once a year if we can, and making 254 South Union Street Guest House our go-to place to stay Seriously – 10/10 would totally recommend

Maeve Clinton

My family stayed here for my graduation from UVM Bill and his dog Buddy were amazing hosts They allowed us to have a small cookout and we all felt right at home

Bill and Cyndie were incredibly responsive to us prior to arrival We rented two rooms, and I had the perfect graduation weekend I highly recommend staying at 254 South Union Street Guest House

It is only 10 minutes from Burlington downtown and cheaper than the other hotels We enjoyed our visit and probably stay againPros:Location – It is only 10 minutes from the downtown

Rooms – Rooms are spacious It’s a suite, so you will have the kitchen, living area and a bedroom They also provide cribs (pack n play) on requestBreakfast – They serve hot breakfast from 7-10 AM They served waffles, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cereals, juices, bagels, toast and coffee etc It was good!!Front-desk staff – They are really helpful and politeCons:- Window AC in the room is at a wrong place If you want to turn on the AC, you need to keep the curtain open otherwise it covers the AC- Furniture and appliances are old, but that didn’t bother us We were here for a short stay- Parking can be tricky on busy days

Min H

The smart suites were quite expensive for what they were Quite a way out of the centre of Burlington but, a bus stopped right outside (when it was running) The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, the rooms could do with a deep clean and same with the shared hallways

Some of the facilities were a bit dated and the breakfast could do with some more fresh fruit and different hot options (Breakfast patties everyday)

Generally good hotel Very courteous and helpful staff The location is fine — big shopping center around the block, Starbucks and bagel place across the street, and you’re just a few miles from downtown Burlington + a few miles the other way for the airport

This is about a 45-minute drive to StoweThe rooms are showing their age a bit, particularly in the bathroom But for our stay (in early February) this was by far the least expensive option in the area — and for that money, it outperformed my expectations

Zach Gershman

Small, clean and comfortable hotel The free airport shuttle is really nice and the on-site restaurant was tasty for dinner My only complaint is the 1 elevator in the building is quite far from the front desk; and then when you take it to your floor, it is far from the rooms

So, a better elevator and maybe offering to help guests with heavy suitcases would have made it a 5 star stay Otherwise it is 4 stars, still great for a night near the airport!

Kimone A

Room was not ready on time I checked in on the app the day before as requested No touch-less entry per the app Room located far from elevators and the hallways are hot so be careful

They charged a lot for rooms and did not clean it once Kind of defeats the purpose of charging $800 for two nights Bar was cute all amenities close early so didn’t get to use the pool Parking is limited so get back to the hotel early

I have stayed here a few times and can honestly say that it’s a great spot to stay a night at The hotel is very clean The rooms are updated and rather modern, but also spacious

The beds and linens are great The staff is very helpful and friendly The pool and hot tub are not only in great shape/condition but work well There is also breakfast at the lobby, which is a nice touch, as some eggs and sausage will help you get a great start to the mornings Highly recommended and will be staying here again in the future

We had the pool to ourselves most of the time we were there Breakfast was an expanded selection of baked goods and 4 hot items to choose from Nice location and convenient to downtown Burlington 45 minutes to Stowe, VT We would definitely stay here again

We had a wonderful stay Given that staff is tight and there is Covid, we were taken care of The area seems very safe

The property is very well kept up and in working order and the pool was great I also used the workout room and it was very well appointedThe staff even put out complementary coffee and tea in the lobby for departure

Gabi Pezo

It’s an OK hotelFor some reason they don’t clean rooms daily which is the standard in most hotels So that part I didn’t like

The breakfast menu gets tiring after a 3 days The only things that changed daily was if they were gonna serve pancakes or waffles or biscuitsThe service and the people were nice and trying to be accommodatingWe room is pretty comfortable and the bed was very soft and cozy

Dad Train

This is big, sprawling hotel with a beautiful indoor dining area, bar, pool and fitness room My room was very quiet Front desk staff very accommodating and friendly

Housekeeping stopped by once during my week stay I requested twice some extra cleaning on the bath sink because of mold, which never happened Honestly, I would have been shocked if it didBreakfast items good, but the process to get seated was painfully slow!Be sure to include breakfast when you book your room Otherwise it’s $1695!

We enjoyed our stay here The facility is nicely maintained, and the rooms are pretty typical for what you might expect at Hapton Inn The breakfast offerings were fairly diverse and abundant each morning

Special kudos to Tara for the warmest welcome I can remember during check inshe was very pleasant and helpful in getting us into our room 🙂

Andrea Riley

Pretty nice hotel and staff Good location close to highway and Burlington Shaws located right across the street if you forget anything

Starbucks basically in the same parking lot Due to the pandemic the homeless are also being housed at this same hotel Was not a big deal for our family, but noted for others that might see this as a draw back

Stephanie Petrarca

I’ve been here 5+ times in the last year Friendly front desk folks who are super helpful Overall cleanliness is decent in the rooms, the cleanest room I’ve had was handicap accessible – maybe more space for them to fit their vacuum and fewer corners to scrub in the bathroom? Conference spaces are nice but other communal spaces, especially the stairwells, are usable at best, questionable at worst

Likely due to understaffing across all service industriesThere is a small gym, pool, and restaurant on site Provided breakfast has lots of options that are all decent, but isn’t super friendly to those with “alternative” dietary needs Catered food for conference spaces is leaps and bounds better in terms of quality, with lots of options for your various dietary needsTwo warnings: 1 wifi can be spotty in rooms, so be prepared to find internet access elsewhere for your work/streaming needs 2 They offer printing services, but both printer access points (1 desktop and 1 Mac) are not updated and are more of an annoyance to use than anything

While I normally gravitate toward conventional hotels when on business-related trips, this time I was late in making my advance reservations, and the Heart of the Village Inn in Shelburne (VT) had an available vacancy So, I grabbed it!The inn is a gem in a gem of a village! It’s a relatively small inn; a beautiful Victorian house Very comfortable, clean and pleasant room, and the breakfast was really wonderful

Heart of the Village Inn is operated by Rose and Anatoly, two of the nicest innkeepers you’ll ever meet Welcoming, respectful and interesting people, they did all they could to make my stay a pleasant experienceTry Heart of the Village Inn You’ll love it!

Elise Foxworth

There were a few issues Firstly, the inn was super hot – do not go there in a hot spell – so we ended up only in our room, where the aircon was just so-so Secondly, two nights in a row the fire alarm sounded at around 1am awaking us in fright

Guests ran out but the hosts didn’t come down to alleviate our fears I texted them and they said it was a system error The next night it happened again, and, in the morning, they provided the same response when I expressed our dissatisfaction I pressed the point but was dismissed As my husband said, “we are just paying customers not valued guests” No effort was made to resolve the negative impact on our stay Thirdly, be aware the TV only offers local stations We will not stay there again despite our plans to visit Shelburne annually

Tiesha Douglas

I was booked at this hotel for a travel assignment and deeply regret allowing them to have me stay there This hotel is quite disgusting There were multiple times that I would walk by a room while housekeeping was “cleaning” and witnessed them sitting with their legs propped up watching tv

It explains why the hotel is so dirty Most of the staff there have attitudes and are rude as well The air-conditioning did not work and we were told they don’t control it that an outside company does So essentially the thermostat on your wall is for show I do not recommend this nasty hotel I would consider it more of a motel than a hotel I can not express how dirty this place actually is The pictures online are definitely old I would not suggest staying here Book elsewhere maybe even next door but not at the comfort inn I would give 0/5 if I could

Barbara Urban

In this day and age, what should I expect from a chain hotel at$350 A night in a small city? The staff was all excellent and breakfast included was fine The facility needs a complete face-lift on the inside

Hallways dark and dingey, with carpeting looking soiled and not vacuumed Bathrooms need freshening showing signs of age and heavy useRoom lighting poorone lamp between the 2 beds Tough if one wants to read and the other doesn’t Only 1 other light on desk 2 nice chairs but no lamp to allow you to read I hope covid is reason for plastic glasses and no housekeeping service We had to get our own towels at desk and put our trash in the hallway I felt I was staying at a 3rd rate hotel, not worth $350

Front desk staff was very nice I had the worst day with a family in critical care at the hospital and just needed to breathe but wanted to close by Didn’t sleep much and work up early so was going to take a shower and get back to the hospital no hot water barely lukewarm

Called front desk they told me just to keep running it sometimes it take a while to heat up It’s been running 20 mins now still not hot and on top of it they never cleaned shower still has the previous guests used soap in the shower Very sanitary! 🤦‍♀️Thanks for the hassle free nights stay Comfort Inn and Suites made me free so great after one of the hardest days of my life

As soon as we walked into the green mountain suites, this beautiful stone fireplace welcomed you in The host was very friendly When we walked into the room, we couldn’t believe how big and roomy it was with a full kitchen, large bath and nice soft comfortable bed

My Husband and I had never gone to a hotel that gave you not only a full breakfast, but also a lovely supper with my favorite Italian wedding soup and a nice salad Everyday had a special menu for the evening which was great We will definitely stay there again Thank you to all the hosts and Jenna the housekeeper It was a delight to be there

What a wonderful stay! Friendly staff, clean rooms and common areas, the pool and hot tub were very clean each time we used them The free breakfast was a full breakfast with lots of hot and cold options The free dinners were very simple but tasty, and they saved us journeying out in the snow

We enjoyed sitting by the fire each night Really appreciated the mini market for having lots of great snack and meal options that weren’t marked up at ridiculous prices, we paid close to what you would on a store Lastly, the shuttle service was fantastic, free trips to the airport and into Burlington, which meant we didn’t need a car Will definitely stay again in the summer

Good — Nice size room Great location Pretty quiet for the most part

Could use some improvement — breakfast food that should be hot was cold most mornings we were thereRoom could have been cleaner when we checked in We fixed that ourselvesAlso would have been nice if we were asked by the front desk person what we thought of our stay when we checked out That was differentIt’s time to change the carpeting

Room was clean and spacious Modern and updated with all the essentials The windows however are not sound proof and being close to the airport means no sleeping when planes are landing or taking off

The lighting in the bathroom were a bit dim Overall well worth the price as it’s close to everything, direct highway access, pool and gym on-site and staffed by extremely friendly people

No included breakfast They only have out cereal and old bananas for free The coffee and tea is the only thing good

Everything else they will charge you for $7 for a yogurt parfait $3+ for a pastry They advertise the Bistro bar food with posters and marketing and menus in elevator But kitchen is not open They only serve drinks from 5pm to 9:30pm A bar that closes at 9:30pm The room was clean The water pressure was awesome and hot I smelled pot one morning in my bathroom Had to turn the fan on I certainly hope those ducts are not connected gross The TV is too slow for the software menu on it Takes forever to browse menuI made a comment to bartender after he said there was no food That they have failed every time He said “there is always something wrong” not sure if it was directed at me or a statement in general from guests If a hotel is continuously not meeting guest expectations Maybe something is wrong I guess the whole Bistro concept is a new thing I don’t see it lasting I will resume my usual chains I stay at and not book a courtyard againUpdate: Saw assistant manager in elevator I asked if they were serving food today as I pointed at the poorly printed menu in the holder on the wall He said No I flipped then paper menu around in the holder and said, Then you should temporarily not the display the menu He became hostile in demeanor and threatened to kick me out of the hotel Angrily flipping the paper back I researched a new hotel and checked out earlyThe Front Desk Manager lady was the nicest and profesional She checked me out with no problemsBye Bye

We had to wait after a long day to check-in while the clerk jibber jabbered, so the experience was off to a questionable startThe bed was comfortable, but the pillows were awful The floor wasn’t cleaned prior to our arrival

Our room had no tissue, which was a hotel first for us
