Needed a place to stay in Minneapolis Came across the Holiday Inn Express All in + parking was $189

Breakfast included in the morning Shout out to Robert for maintaining the breakfast bar with a great sense of humourStay was excellent, room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfy Would highly recommend People complain about $20 for parking, but that’s the reality in cities It’s cheaper than some other places I’ve been too

Came in for a Brewers Convention Clean room, one block away from Convention center Shower head was good, better than typical

Pool, spa and workout area were just the right size, clean and accessible Night time staff was friendly and accommodating I really enjoyed my stay here more than normal, maybe because my expectations were met and staff was friendly!

We would have rated the hotel five stars if it had not been for the noise problem with our room Our room was attractive and clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast bar very good However, the occupants in the room above us were excessively noisy for most of our 6-night stay

We talked to the front desk twice during our visit about the noise problem It sounded like there were children running constantly back and forth in their room or jumping up and down on the floor (it appeared that they spent most of their time each day in their room) The hotel staff did get the noise problem taken care of after 10 pm each night with the start of the hotel’s quiet time Oh but before 10 pm, you couldn’t fall asleep due to the thumping and running noise from above On the last night of our stay, we had an extra interruption to our sleep from a barking dog The hotel is pet friendly and allows dogs We were woken up twice by the woofing of a large dog

corky dile

Good/clean beds and rooms, breakfast and workout room were highlights Area around hotel is safe and nice (grocery and restaurant across the parking lot) Front desk was helpful with providing cooking surface and pan Housekeeping was awesome

Had an issue with a room across the hall screaming all night because they were maybe 21 (I think they were 19-20) and it was their birthday (I know this because it was screamed multiple times and when asked to quiet down they responded with “but it’s my birthday”) Im guessing locals got a hotel room to party all night We called the desk twice roughy and hour apart about the noise we could hear everything( screaming, obscenities, arguing) with our door shut down the hall They knew exactly who I was taking about so I’m guessing we weren’t the only ones complaining at 2am We can deal with a little noise understanding it’s a hotel but was not expecting a local drunken party They sent security up and he didn’t really do anything about it just told them there were noise complaints and he was in a rough spot cause his boss wanted the noise to stop but that he understood They proceeded to yell the F word for the next 5 mins threatening to fight people and they just wanted to party Security heard all of this and left so that told us everything we needed to know about the support we would get, so we just stopped calling and got very little sleep that night thankfully it was only 1 night of our 3 night stay It’s a nice hotel besides that and maybe we just got unlucky, but hotel could have done something We will be trying a different hotel for our trips in the future

Similar complaint to the below comment We had been driving for 13 hours only to arrive to an extremely rude and combative employee who had informed us that our reservation had been canceled When asked why he mentioned something along the lines of a “daily audit” and if you arrive after midnight your reservation was canceled and we had to figure out another situation

NOWHERE on the site or on the premise was that policy stated I asked if there was anything that he could do, such as rebook, and he responded that he couldn’t help us and we needed to go somewhere else Fortunately the property right next door had availability and was able to giveus a bed to rest until another 10 hour travel day The next morning I went back to the property and was able to speak with the assistant GM, Brittany, who was a wonderful face of the company and extremely respectful She profusely apologized and refunded the stay that was charged Please get rid of the nightshift employee who is lazy and an zero value-add employee I understand it was a single employee in the wrong but gives me a bad perception of the Hilton brand as a whole and less inclined to book at any of their properties moving forward

I spent about a month in the hotel on business The staff and housekeeping services are pretty solid I was able to get my room reliably cleaned every week and get a paper from downstairs on the local news

Coffee is available 24 hours, its pretty decent The room had awesome heating, plenty of space and a comfortable bed The gym has a few treadmills, a bike and elliptical and a dumbbell set, yoga mats – all you need to get a good work out inThe hotel does an evening social once a week where they’ve got free beer and snacks which is cool and encouraging I haven’t come across many places that do this but its a great way to network and interact with people especially in times of COVIDThe biggest complaints would be the inconsistently of the room keys, if you can get the app – use it because you’ll find yourself losing the ability to go into the gym, laundry room, pool or even your own room at the drop of a dime The breakfast is edible as long as you stay away from the powdered eggs

Solid choice for north suburban stays They do one weird thing though , I’ve observed it during every stay in 2022, which is that between 0715 and 1000 each day but especially on weekends, they’ll entirely clean the lobby bathrooms, tiles in front of bathrooms, and even tile floors of first floor exit areas with really slick floor detergent But this is exactly the time of highest foot traffic in all these areas

I’ve witnessed grandmas nearly spill their breakfast coffee trying to maneuver into and out of those bathrooms because it’s like ice I thought it was because staff to do this only worked mornings, but that turns out not to be the case, the same individual creating local slip & slides is still working at 1530 Clean up of these areas should really occur only after 10:30 or so, it isn’t safe unless you’re barefoot and even then I doubt it

Jerry Inderlee

My girlfriend and I spent almost 6 months here and really miss the wonderful staff, the beautiful room, and the way they made us feel right at homeThe front desk, maintenance, kitchen, and environmental services were 10 out of 10!My girlfriend wants to move back lol!Thank you for everything you did for us!

It’s in a nice area and only an 8 minute drive from a family members house We have stayed twice for medical appointments for our kids The pool is super cold

The rooms are definitely in need of some TLC They are currently remodeling so I’m sure it will get better The first time we stayed the room was very clean but the second time the room was visibly not cleaned in a few spots and the duvet cover and was stained The breakfast was decent both times We stayed with all 4 of our young children and it’s nice to have options for breakfast that each of them likeWe would consider staying again after the remodel but will be finding another hotel in the meantime

Currently under renovation, but you wouldn’t know before 7:30 any morningStaff was super helpfulProperty inside & out both are very well keptRoom is great, plenty of space, including a desk, seating area, coat hooks as well

The shower & bath are goodRoom has plenty of charging locations, and plenty of lightingThe blackout shade does the job perfectlyI’ve worked in the area many times, but this is my 1st stay wish I’d known before now about this gem!

To the ones who rely so heavily on reviews before making a decision: As an avid user of Holiday Inn I was somewhat skeptical when reading the reviews of this hotel on google but decided to bet on this location knowing it was a corporate owned location While I have allotted for grace of the construction being completed in this review I feel like there are several areas as room for improvement to take this from a 25-3 star hotel and bring it to the high 4 if not 5

The first this was the cleanliness in ALL common areas of hotel the hallways, breakfast areas were never cleaned during our 4 day stay This is something so easily fixed yet no one took the time to do it At one point there was dried blood on the floor in the breakfast area which again to my horror was not cleaned during our stay The next area is the elevator- the way the elevator functioned was unacceptable with catching- it was almost scarier to take the elevator vs the stairs The cleanliness of elevator was nothing short of terrible sticky mess, handprints, visible dirt debris all days of the stay Again I know there was construction but there’s no reason that staff can not clean and mop the elevator at MINIMUM once a day The next was the noise level With the guests that were there during out stay the noise level and “rowdiness” gauge was off the charts It seemed like the staff either made no attempt to stop it or just didn’t care to Either way nighttime was dreaded especially since I was traveling with 2 little kids The other final area of improvement I would suggest is keeping a much closer eye of the freshness of the food During our stay on 7/7 we got some milk with a 7/8 expiration date Upon opening it we quickly realized it was sour and threw it away Yet on 7/8 when we came back downstairs much to my surprise all the milk with the 7/8 expiration date on it was still out When bringing it to staff attention staff notified me that they technically have 5 days AFTER the expiration date to keep it out for consumption YIKES Never have I heard of that and if that truly is the policy it is only opening the door for a food poisoning lawsuit at fault of the hotelWhen it comes to the question of would I stay here again the answer would have to be probably not There’s other options right across the street that I’d be willing to explore before coming backPros:LocationCons:Room Cleanliness, Facilities, Atmosphere

The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, but this hotel needs an update It definitely shows some wear My last day I had a late flight back to LA and arranged for a late check out

Apparently nobody informed housekeeping They banged on my door at 9am Not happy about that Underground parking is a plus especially if you stay here in the winter Would I stay here again? I think that I will spend a few more dollars next time and stay in a hotel that’s a little more up to date

m W

Got this place for my boyfriend and I plus my brothers and I wanted a place that offered separate rooms for that Was perfect! My boyfriend said, “this is bigger than some of the apartments I’ve lived” And he fell in love with the bed immediately

Loved the little kitchen My brothers loved the pool and gym room I wish the breakfast was better but was still better than other hotels I’ve been Mostly wanted an egg option with no cheese but I get that most people like eggs and cheese together

Mike Hollingsworth

I was charged $1,400 randomly days after my stay, when i was charged an up front fee of $750 on the day of the stay I’ve been trying to talk to the manager but haven’t been successful There are also failed attempts to charge my debit card on file more than a handful of times

I would highly recommend you stay away from this hotel! I am looking into legal action for this matter

Convenient location to places we visited over the course of 4 daysBreakfast was less than ideal, but we managed and used it to hold everyone over until brunch The website stated that we would have 2 queen beds, but one of them was a full size bed

When we needed extra items, they were extremely helpful with bringing the items up to our room

Kristi Ferguson

I am not impressed with the staff at all Especially the cleaning staff It’s also entirely too hot throughout the hotel

The faucet in my room broke right away I asked for a clean bed blanket and was told they only had exact amount for each room, so I drove from Roseville to my storage in East Bethel for a blanketI have counted 2 to 3 days where the garbage sits in the hallwaysI’ve also had to call downstairs and was very upset because Housekeeping tried to enter my room without my permission, request or call They never knocked, or announced anythingIt’s bad enough for myself and my family that we have to be here long-term, and now it’s just very depressing

Tom Lennon (HVS Leak Detection)

Front door locked Nobody answered front desk phone to check in Came back an hour later to check in Breakfast was very poor

Out of eggs no meat was served scooped up last bowl of oatmeal Person serving breakfast working at an infuriating slow pace Does not affect me but heard others complain of no coffee Many other hotels in the area Choose another I will

Hector at the front desk is AMAZING I do not have enough kind words to describe how welcomed and helpful he was upon my arrival He made me feel right at home, gave me all of the information on the hotel, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful stay

Whenever I am in Minneapolis I’ll be staying here just because of his kindness After a long day he really turned my day around The bar and gym are lovely and the rooms are spacious The location is great and parking is easy I definitely recommend staying here Once again thank you Hector for everything you’ve done to help with my stay I appreciate you more than words can express!

This hotel was the same price as the Marquette where is usually stay but my friend had a room here for the weekend so I booked this instead Worst night at a hotel I had ever experienced About once every 30 mins the furnace would start, it sounded like a diesel generator

The first few rounds I thought there was construction outside it was so loud My fitness tracker said I slept for 1hr15min that night The bed was also extremely uncomfortable and the walls were so thin I could here people partying throughout the hotel all night when the furnace wasn’t running I ended my trip early and didn’t even stay my second night The shower was also just about unusable with how hard the spray was Wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling back and it was outdated and dirty The front desk staff was kind upon arrival and promptly refunded the parking I had been incorrectly charged for when I called the day after my stay I know not to have high hopes for hotel breakfast but the only hot option was breakfast sandwiches that were not even close to as good as the worst gas station bkfst sandwich I’ve ever had I will not return to this hotel There are similarly priced hotels in the area that are luxurious

Joshua Miller

Excellent food, service, and locationAs far as in building amenities go, the pool and gym are excellent, and there is electric car charging on the first floor of the parking garage/basement (2 Tesla only chargers, 1 standard electric charger)

An absolute dumpThis review is for the hotel portion onlyElevators don’t work

We have to go up and down 12 flights of stairs (twice) Stairways not marked, not lit and several floors were blocked by power tools, cords etc…The rooms are very musty and dirty Tiny sinks and toilets and rooms not stockedNobody who works for the hotel is there They have a person that sits at the front desk, but they are very quick to tell you that they don’t work there Beautiful venue, but don’t ever stay here

Stayed here for a wedding Currently no staff on premises and you get your code to get in and out of the building and roomLocation is convenient to be in downtown St

Paul Did not park a vehicle for my stayElevator was having major issues during stay Was trapped on the 12th floor in the morningNo a/c on in the main parts so the hallways/elevators were hot Room a/c worked thankfullyBathrooms had step up to enter if you have mobility issues Bed was on the firmer side Room had fridge, microwave and kureg machine

The guy was grumpy that checked us in but another front desk person we met was nice We couldn’t use a gift card to pay for our room I booked the king room on booking

com because it was cheaper than booking with the hotel I liked the standard room better that we got the last time we stayed Our room had a kitchen, dishes, wine glasses and mini fridge with freezer We stayed for winter carnival and it was a perfect location The hotel has the top floors of the building St Paul athletic club has an awesome dry and wet sauna and really nice facilities Nice free breakfast but bring your own cup/mug since they only have disposable options They had recycling bin in the room which was a nice touch The housekeeping staff were very nice We love this hotel

I travel a lot on business, and this hotel was a wonderful surprise I often feel claustrophobic in small hotel rooms, but the rooms at this hotel are remarkably large, with 20 foot ceilings and enough floor space that other hotels might call the rooms suites The furnishings and the lobby are very nice, and the free breakfast is quite good

There is only a shower — no tub — in the bathroom, but that is the only negative that I can think of It has all the other common amenities I rate this hotel very highly

Buck M

Aside from finding the right entrance to access the parking, this place is delightful It’s the old post office, and the renovation into a hotel kept some architectural elements intact Like 20′ high ceilings in the room, 10′ wide hallways and brass elevator doors, replete with post office iconography

Very comfortable, very modern, but still personable Staff was very friendly and still professional Yes, I would stay here again

Michael Nelson-Ostrowski

We stayed one night and the room and service were great I was surprised at how tall the ceilings were and the building had quiet of bit of historical nature to it We got stuck with an interior room so it was good as the room could provide as our only views were of the interior building

The only downside (and likely the result of it being in St Paul) was the parking When coming down it seemed like there was on site parking with unlimited parking but the only thing they had was valet so that felt a bit deceitful but that could be my fault for reading The plus side is the parking ramp across the street was only $5 for our overnight

Stayed at this hotel with my entire extended family for a funeral Staff was extremely friendly and courteous and the General Manager Lynne was a great help in helping make arrangements for dinner at the adjoining Machine Shed (which was delicious)The hotel is very clean, and the lobby is beautiful

Very comfortable beds and large bathrooms is a plus The pool area is incredibly spacious and the kids loved itWill definitely be staying here again

Lydia Keskitalo

Clean rooms and great staff, but the floor plan is very odd Many of the rooms look into the pool which itself isn’t bad, but the windows are very thin and the pool doesn’t close until 11:00pm This can be a problem if you are here for business or if you like to get to bed early

However, good prices, clean rooms, and helpful staff makes this hotel a good place to stay in St Paul

Lisa M

Black hole of a room Overall, the hotel was fairly nice, typical Holiday Inn…HOWEVER, our room had absolutely no natural light coming in

We had a window, but it faced a wall Pitch black at all hours Hard to relax, when you have no idea what it’s like outside, or cues that it’s getting late, etc We (spouse and kids) slept terribly as we all kept waking up at various times afraid we’d oversleep (yes, we used an alarm clock), since we had no other cues it was morning Pic was taken before checkout at 9:30 am, just to show how ridiculous it wasWas never informed our room was like that when making booking, or calling in to confirm that day Unable to get new room as hotel was booked No refund as prepaid for best price We’re done with the IHG brand after this

Rooms are ok Staff is great Surrounding area is perpetually filled with homeless and random people that blast music and harass pedestrians

We stayed here for a week and the women in our group didn’t feel comfortable walking back alone… and I don’t blame them considering I wouldn’t have felt safe walking alone either, especially dressed in business attire

Ghazanfar “GJ” Abidi

Spacious and clean room King bed was enough for 2 adults and 2 kids (laying perpendicular); didn’t even use the sofa bed Kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with cutlery and appliances

Thermostat was stuck on 67f, so it got a bit chilly at nightGood location downtown Could walk to most places we were there forThe parking lot to use is the La Salle lot, not Bancorp

Horrible experience Heat went out first night No space heaters and had to wait late into the morning for a fix blowing cold air all night in the middle of winter

Told wrong times on breakfast Then showed up 15 mins before close next morning and said nothing left One staff member in particular was incredibly rude I left 2 stars because they have nice city views from the rooms It’s not worth being there though you’re in one of the more dangerous areas of the city, trust me Plus my dead bolt lock didn’t work on my room They didnt care about any of it and then charged me extra cleaning fees when I didnt even get the check out time advertised I feel like I’ve been scammed and it felt like a dirty cheap motel Marriott should drop this dump from their name I’ve been to dozens of different hotels and this is one of the worst in the city Go to Marriott City Center a few blocks down instead if you really want to be in that area, or if you need the full kitchen go to Marriott TownePlace Suites in North Loop Avoid this place, you’re welcome

When we arrived at the hotel around 11:30 pm, we walked through the front doors to check in and were hit by the distinct smell of marijuana When we got into our room and took a shower, we noticed boogers on our shower curtain However, we were impressed with the heating and cooling unit and it worked very well! Overall, a decent place to stay if you don’t mind those minor issues

I stayed here for a couple of nights and was not reimbursed the charge on my card until over 2 weeks later when I had to call them about my issue I was promptly refunded the money by the general manager upon calling 17 days after my stay, but it is upsetting that this action had not been taken as soon as I checked out of the hotel – as it should have been

Room was clean, reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff Only had 1 problem but I didn’t bring it up to try to remedy it Junior hockey! Their kids hyped up about a game and at a motel with long hallways pools and an elevator or 3

I work over nights usually a 14 hour shift, during the week the place is pretty quiet Friday and Saturday nights during hockey season not so much If you want sleep during the day haha not gonna happen There is signs about kids running in the halls that says don’t do it But they had hockey goals set up in the hallways and running slamming into doors etc Forget about catching the elevator when their staying there Again I didn’t complain to anyone just kinda cranked up my headphones and tried my best to sleep I will be staying many more times though Nice pool area, gameroom, weights, laundry free breakfast Heading there this afternoon, hopefully no hockey

Friendly, helpful staff (thank you Shay for the great service and caring smile) Valet and shuttle driver were extra perks! Hot breakfast provided a variety of options (son is gluten free) but odd no brown sugar for the oatmeal Classy yet cozy room with well supplied kitchen

Best of all, first time we’ve stayed in the Twin Cities without waking to sirens or traffic noise (Several were deployed, too)

Stayed here 4 nights with my wife and kids Started with the air conditioner not working in the room We notified them multiple times they gave us a fan

Average room temp was 75-80 degrees Didn’t want to make a big deal because the said the we fixing it By yesterday we’re like pack all our kids up and goto another hotel? We just toughed it out The only good thing about this place is the pool Breakfast was sub par Good thing hopes is next door I mentioned again about the room air and their reply “Said did we tell them” Unreal! You gave me the fan So she comped us the valet parking We didn’t even use valet parking but one night because when we got back the place was surrounded by police cars Been here before a year ago and it is definitely not the same Hit or miss here

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 months while we worked in St Paul The staff here are amazing

The hotel was well kept and well run Extra mention for Shay who made sure we had a room that was in a good location for working night shift and Luke who brush our car off when we didn’t have a snow brush and had a flight to catch the next day I cannot say enough about all of the wonderful people who made our stay amazing I wish I could give this a rating higher than 5 stars Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond – kitchen staff, housekeeping and maintenance, we are so grateful!

Really nice hotel, our stay was great! Lots of bright colors, the hallways were yellow

it was fun & cheery The breakfast was very good, lots of choices and 12pm check-out is the best! The pool is pretty tiny but we had our two young children with us and no one was ever in it, so it was perfect for us We spent everyday of our trip in it and the hot tub Everything was clean and the front desk people were very helpful Had a nice stay, thank you!

I’ve had great staff experience in the last 3 years I been coming to this hotel Didn’t have that experience this time, looks like a newer staff Was very short, not professional kind of like I was a friend to her, casual carefree attitude

Was checking me in but conversing with guests waiting behind me but not me Not up to the Marriott standard

Rue Wei

I didn’t sleep well because I can hear people talking and music playing through the wall I didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast because the breakfast time starts too late I hope the breakfast time starts earlier like 5am or at least have other options out for guests

I checked out the hotel and waited in the lobby for about ten minutes waiting for my ride When I got on the car, the manager came out stared at me intensely When we rolled down the window he told me that he thought I just walked passed him without checking out Super creepy

Decent hotel and the price wasn’t bad for the location Huge shoutout to Vivian in the breakfast lounge She is amazing and quite an asset to the hotel

Great hospitality!!! Unfortunately, I do have a couple of complaints: 1 We had no idea there was a free breakfast for guests until I was walking in the hotel the first morning after picking up McDonalds already There was nothing on my reservation confirmation and we weren’t told about it when we checked in That would’ve been nice to know before I spent money elsewhere on food 2 The south facing rooms definitely hear the interstate traffic outside We could hear it well in the morning when we were trying to sleep in 3 The blackout curtains in our room weren’t perfect at keeping the light outOther than these issues, our stay was acceptable and we were overall pleased with our stay The staff was very friendly Just wish they would’ve told us about the free buffet when we checked in

Awesome hotel! They have great security You cannot access the use of the elevator or secure parking garage without a key, nor the building itself They do charge you under $20 for parking but it’s worth it

They have breakfast and a decent selection of items The hotel is well kept and the rooms were very clean and nice Was disappointed in the size of the pool They do have a little kids area w/ pool that’s not at all deep with a slide and water spout type contraption The staff were all friendly and helpful Location was okay but I never had a reason to go out and about in the city We were in town visiting family Double check your charges after you check out It might have been a fluke but I had mysterious charge that they did end up refunding me for Jim is one of the managers at this hotel and he was very professional, patient and helpful when resolving this issue I definitely would stay again

After having a horrible experience at Best Western Como park, we cancelled our reservations and went here Feeling so let down by our first encounter with such unprofessional staff, this place was a breath of fresh air!! The check in process was perfect The receptionist, Jacky, was so friendly and helpful!! It was beautiful, bright and clean! Location was perfect! They even have a beautiful, little attached patio to enjoy outside

I highly recommend this hotel and our family looks forward to visiting again as this is where we will always stay in the future:)

Breakfast was good Fresh and many options Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable

A little disappointed with the pool and jacuzzi listing as the jacuzzi was the entirety of the whole pool We were expecting more of a hot tub or separate area for jacuzzi Otherwise, it was fine Staff were very friendly and the building was very secure
