Very nice people Very friendly and helpful Spaces are really too close for anything with slides or over 30 foot

Looks like full timers have the best spots After parking our 40 ft travel trailer we could barely fit the tow vehicle There was no room to put out awnings or chairs Sites were pretty level which made that easy And they are mostly pull through Would stay again but just because people were so nice!

I am lowering my rating to 2 from 4 The sites are very close and the roads very narrow For some reason they put all overnighters in one area even though there are many open sites

I had to awaken my neighbor to move his truck before I could pull out of my space even though his truck was properly parked close in front of his fifth wheel Staff was nice and likely good campground for long term customers but I won’t stay again for overnight stops

Love their new registration pay online system with confirmation, rules, and welcome emails!Conveniently located off I20, clearly marked narrow level gravel sites, clean bathrooms but dated, clean laundry with some dated equipment but a nice seating area, pool, playground, fenced dog run, some long term tenants that are an eyesore and quiet with exception of some dogs barking from animal clinic next doorAppears this park was tired, not well maintained, and no rules – NEW owners since November – based on completed projects, projects in progress, and future projected plans, this park will be a convenient, clean, well maintained, 5 star park soon!Look forward to visiting again in the future!

The hotel itself was nice Every member of staff that we encountered was nice The rooms weren’t the nicest that I’ve ever been in, but they weren’t bad either

Really the only reason I gave four stars instead of five was because of the bed mattress As someone who has lower back and hip issues the mattress was very uncomfortable If I had one suggestion to make the place better it would be to invest in some better mattresses

The check-in process was quick and easy When we arrived at our room, I noticed right away something was wrong with the air conditioner The room was over 90 degrees

The air coming out of the unit was not blowing as cold or as fast as it should have been We immediately went back to the front desk to request another room Rather than taking my word for it and just giving us another room, the employee made us wait there while she went up to the room to “investigate” She eventually returned to inform us that the air conditioner actually WAS working properly, and we just needed to give it “ten minutes” So I yielded and took my children back to eat dinner in the 90+ degree hotel room We gave it about 45 minutes, and it still wasn’t getting any cooler So I returned to the front desk, now covered in sweat, and again requested another room This time, she did get us into a different room When we got to the room that we would be sleeping in that night, we were surprised to discover it was a smoking room, which smelled pretty badly (thanks a lot) We had specifically requested a non-smoking room But the air conditioner was working, and we were exhausted, so we just gave up and went to sleepIf you’re looking for a comfortable place to come off the road and get some rest, look elsewhere It is also under major construction, and you can’t come in the front door

If you’re looking for a modern hotel with sleek, minimalist fixtures and all the amenities, Cedar Grove is not going to be the place for you But then again, Vicksburg in general probably isn’t going to be the place for you If, however, you are a history-loving tourist in town to see the battlefield and the old mansions, and generally try to catch a glimpse of the antebellum Deep South, then Cedar Grove will fit the bill nicely

The grounds are lovely, the common areas and rooms all done up in that baroque 19th century Southern style; there’s a solid shot stuck from the fighting in 1863 stuck in the wall, and you can sleep in a room that once accomodated General US Grant The restaurant quite good as well, which is very important, as there aren’t a lot of dining options in Vicksburg, especially after dark I deducted one star because as much as I love history, I sleep much better on a modern mattress than one that feels like it might as old as the building its in But overall, Cedar Grove was exactly what I was looking during my stay in the living history museum that is Vicksburg, MS

Lindsay Leiser

The mansion itself is beautiful, however, that’s only the beginning

Rhonda and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our family so we could stay for just one night while passing through and we couldn’t be more grateful Hospitality was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be booking a few nights stay next time so we can spend more time in this historic town

I’m very happy that I decided to stay here – especially for the price I paid the same amount as I would have paid had I decided to stay at the larger “two star” hotel chains (under $10000), but was treated to a uniquely southern atmosphere and got to experience a piece of a hugely important part of US history

This artistic/architectural style (Antebellum) is incredible Basically, the entire area is dripping with history!I stayed in the Grant room (Ulysses S Grant allegedly spent the night there during the civil war when he was still a general) and even thumbed through the book of battle songs (some of them were surprisingly poetic) that was on one of the tables I was awake into the late hours, so I wandered around the mansion after the other guest had retired and took a few photos before bedBreakfast was good – I especially liked the grits, but it is served to you and although I suppose you could ask for more, it is not buffet style like a lot of hotels and the portions are a little small It was plenty for me thoughThe biggest con that I had was that there was no shower I hate baths, but if you don’t mind taking a bath, then the tub is nice enough and has one of those hand held sprayers to rinse off with (trust me, trying to shower with it is not recommended unless you want to spray the whole bathroom!)The Grant room was the only room without access to its own thermostat, but that didn’t matter to me that much, since the hostess let me set it prior to setting the alarm in the office (where the thermostat lives)I tried very hard to not make too much noise since I was late arriving and stayed up even later, but as is common with older places, it is loud and very creaky This might be something to consider if you are a light sleeperIf you are a light sleeper (or you really need a microwave or a mini-fridge), they offer cottages across the street I didn’t see the inside of the cottages during my stay, so I can’t really compare them to the main mansionOverall the hotel has more of a bed and breakfast feel to it than anything else and is an excellent way to experience the local atmosphere as well as a significant part of American civil war historyI would recommend staying here – especially if you too can find a great deal like I did!

Check in was fast, and the employees were very kind The hotel is located near several restaurants and a gas station and isn’t far from I-20 The hotel provided a pretty great breakfast, as well

The room (queen bed suite) was spacious and generally in good condition AC worked very well, bathroom was clean (and had plenty of towels), TV worked great, and the beds were comfortable However, some of the electrical outlets looked a bit dodgy Two above the desk had dirt or something around the outlet plates Another outlet near the couch was completely missing its plate

The check in process and lobby was impressive We arrived late and were really tired The key card worked seamlessly but once I walked through the threshold, it was not welcoming

The tile floor appeared clean but was slick The room smelled old and mildewy Hubby says the floor was damp under the A/C I wouldn’t walk on the carpet without my sneakers because the carpet looked old and stained I desperately wanted to lie down and rest my head so I covered my hair, tucked my pants in my socks and fell asleep The bathroom was very clean and I welcomed the shower (Rm 220) I’m including the room just in case this was an isolated incident I told my hubby we would spring for the Hilton in the future Clarion Hotels, we had a nice run Down from a 5 to a 2 in 20+ years

We booked through Booking and we were waiting exactly one hour for them to give us the room, at reception they told us that the problem is the computer, I think they should fix the computer because the accommodation is not free and they should also have a protocol for these cases help customers to get their room fast to not have this bad experience! and in the worst case the client should have compensation, conclusion if you come tired and book online keep in mind that this can happen to you!
