Such a cute bed and breakfast! Room we stayed in was very nice and had a lot of charm to it Breakfast was amazing and a highlight to our day The inn is along a main road, so you do hear the street traffic if you are in a room right next to the road (not a detraction, but more of an FYI when choosing which room to stay in depending on how you sleep)

Regardless, I highly recommend this place and would definitely come back for another stay

First of all, I have to say that this is one of the best places that I have ever stayed It is because of the staff, the rooms are great and spacious, very clean everywhere I had originally booked another hotel not being familiar with the area and BOY oh BOY was I shocked at the condition of the hotel

I called the Fairfield Inn and they said they had one room left due to several sports tournaments going on that weekend They were so kind and considerate of the circumstances and told me to come there immediately The woman at the front, MaKaela and Crystal was so amazing when we arrived Matt Sech, the GM of the hotel was one of the most attentive managers I have ever dealt with at a hotel, also take into consideration the hotel was completely booked once we checked in If you are ever in the area, this is the place to stay One of the best experiences I have ever had traveling, hands down!

laina chase

I stayed here about 3 weeks ago on a business trip and overall I enjoyed the experience I just booked again for July 11-13 and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had First room when we went to go to sleep we pulled the blankets back and the whole bed was stained, which shows they don’t clean there sheets or bedding

So they switched our room and that room had a horrible musty moldy smell which turned into us finding cockroaches running around the room I will never be staying at this hotel again

NJ Diver

Did not honor the reservation in May (booked directly with Marriott app and I am a Gold Elite) Wasted 2 hours of my time when I was completely exhausted, gave me a key to an occupied room Staff training issues

Elevator was not working properly and they knew it had issues and was still in service (very scary experience) Ended up driving 2+ hours back home after being awake over 24 hours No apologies and fortunately Marriott corporate made it right as best they could but I lost a full work day and had to drive when completely exhausted as by the time this all went down I couldn’t find another hotel in the area and was too tired to spend any more time on it Never in 30 years of travel have I had such a bad experience after staying 100s of hotel stays The 1 star is truly deserved Traveler beware as this is one you might to skip and read the 1 and 2 star reviews

The property was kept fairly clean, but the building was old so imperfections were quite evident However, I am giving 5 stars for the quality of service I received Staff members were extremely patient, responsive, and moreover kind and compassionate

Special shout out to Melissa and anyone else who worked on 3/5/22 Thank you for making my stay stress free

Josh

Hands down the worst hotel I’ve visited! This place is old and outdated Everything in our room was heavily used and run down The furniture was cracked and frayed

The carpet was faded and dingy Our comforter had a bloodstain on it and had to be replaced One pillow case was dirty and had to be replaced More bloodstains were in the bathroom wallpaper Several dark body hairs were stuck to our hand towel The tub was disgusting and the bathroom ceiling had mold growing in several places The mattress was sunken in, making for a terrible night of sleep The room had no single cup coffee pot like every other hotel I’ve stayed at Wifi was a pain to get connected A/C was loud and rattledAll in all, a horrible experience! We checked out immediately in the morning so we wouldn’t have to spend a single minute more in the room than we had to And to top everything off, the front desk didn’t even bother to ask about our stay Maybe they already knew the choice words I would have had for them I expect MUCH better from a Hilton branded hotel I will be contacting Hilton to demand a refund or credit towards a stay at another hotel in the future

First time I’m dissatisfied with Holiday Inn Express This hotel is old which is nothing bad if it’s clean and smells clean The outside and lobby area were not clean and kept good as usually is with Holiday Inn Express

The room were we stayed smelled like mold and the sheets had some black stainsMy family and I definitely will not stay in this hotel again

Chris Wright

Front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate It’s an older hotel that is having issues with thermostats in the rooms as well as fridges Was in 3 rooms in 4 days, the thermostat wasn’t working in 2 of those rooms (including the last room) I suffered thru 74⁰ in the room because I was tired of moving

The staff can only do so much when they aren’t given an adequate property to work with

William

Absolutely the worst holiday inn I have ever stayed at Checked into suite, bed had blood stains on bed sheets, toilet was clogged Front desk puts me in second room can’t get into room Lock broken go back to front desk

3rd room is clean but shower nob was broken, ended up giving up and went to sleep 3 months later had to stay at same hotel Bed sheets stained, no hot water, shower curtain rod hanging loose just 5 feet high, no soap had to get some at front desk, no water pressure to wash soap off, no cups tea or coffee had to go back to front desk

The cleanliness of the hotel and rooms were top notch

The bed was comfortable Breakfast in the morning so SO good We even had drinks down at the bar attached to the hotel and we enjoyed those as well Great job Double Tree in reading! You are doing something right Thank you for the awesome hospitality this last weekend

I regret not taking pictures because it is a very nice hotel in Reading A couple things that standout as i was traveling with family The parking is free in the parking deck

Breakfast is complementary and excellent! My family liked it The facility is extremely clean and the pool is nice as wellThe big standout is how happy the staff is All smiles and genuinely very polite Even my wife pointed it outMake sure to grab the complementary chocolate chip cookies!

Miranda

I have visited this hotel for several business meetings and always had a great experience Love their salmon salads! Recently had the need to stay overnight and it too was a great experience! Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with a great complimentary breakfast and free parking The staff was super friendly and sent us off for day 2 of a sports tournament with some extra cookies and ice

That’s what going above and beyond for your customers looks like and it was very much appreciated! Thank you Doubletree!!!

First room wasn’t comfortable for us and we asked for a different room, we needed more bedding, towels and an extra key for our pregnant daughter arriving at a later time Everything we asked for was delivered quickly and without issue Other room was just right

Staff went above and beyond to make my daughter comfortable with extra long pillow for her baby bumpCheck in and out is easy, parking available and places to eat close by,Thank you again to the staff

Main room was nice Bed sank in the middle The bathroom was another story

Had to change the toilet paper in the “cleaned bathroom” because it had some kind of moldy stain Hair that wasn’t my color in the sink and in the tub Paint was peeling above the tub where someone tried to paint over a leak and mold Ceiling also looked like mold was painted over instead removing Bathroom also reminded me of an older Holliday Inn even though the building isn’t that old

Vivian Oaks

Nice hotel

only one elevator, but we never had to wait any amount of time for it Choice of pillows on the bed was nice One was soft and puffy – the second was firm and flatter The really different thing about this place, that I’ve never seen elsewhere, is that they have a “lending library” of sorts, but rather than books they lend games, puzzles, even a crockpot!! Yes, these rooms are suites, so have a full size fridge and a stove and sink, so I guess you can borrow the crockpot and make your meal in your room for later in the day Interesting place

We just returned home from staying at your lovely place and are ready to return!! We loved how quiet everything was and the beautiful scenery The breakfast was enough to carry over till lunch and still had plenty left over The French toast casserole, rhubarb pie, cinnamon bread, and blueberry bread was very delicious as well as the breakfast casseroles

Loved the fresh granola for our yogurt as well We ended up bringing some of the pastries home for our family to try and they loved them The room was big and very comfortable and will definitely be returning in the fall ❤️

We had a lovely stay at the Hertzog B&B The location is lovely and convenient We stayed in the Metzler suite the room was lovely the atmosphere warm and welcoming plus there was holiday decorations around which added to the homey feeling

I loved that there was a separate little breakfast area and they provide a delicious breakfast that can be had at your convenience, of quiche, pastries, yogurt, muffins, as well as water, juice, soda and coffee The entire process can be contactless but we were fortunate to run into Kristen the proprietor who was lovely to chat with and made us certainly feel welcome We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area

cindy frain

This was our 2nd getaway at Hertzog Homestead As before the farmland views were breathtaking, the suite was extremely clean with attention to detailMy husband especially enjoyed the garden Jacuzzi as he watched the evening lighting bugs dance

The breakfast once again was delicious, baked goods a plenty, the vegetarian casserole that my husband requested for me was detectable! We have this on our list of perfect getaways from our business! You will not be disappointed; quintessential Lancaster County at its finest!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway We stayed in the Jade room It had a nice jacuzzi tub/shower

The bed sits low to the floor, but the room is nice The hosts were very nice with cheesecake and tea/coffee available 24/7 My husband enjoyed the breakfast each morning I am a pickier eater, but they were great trying to accommodate me and make sure I had enough to eat Overall a great experience!

Jennifer Vazquez

This place is ideal if you just want a very romantic time away with your partner The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated and the bed was comfy We stayed in the Amber room and between the full body massage jetted shower, the 2 person jacuzzi tub and the fireplace that shared a wall with the bathroom and the bedroom, it was perfect for our anniversary getaway

The owners are super friendly and pay attention to details There was a bouquet of flowers waiting for us and a beautiful handwritten card Oh, did I mention the breakfast part of this B&B? Delicious and filling We’ll be back

Laurie Shirey

This was our first time at the Amethyst Inn and it was wonderful! The Amber room was spectacular although I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned that it was a little awkward how close it was to the dining room We really enjoyed it though! The fireplace in the bathroom and the bedroom was very romantic as well as the hot tub for two The innkeepers were wonderful and the food was delicious

Andrew told us that the peaches were from an Amish farm down the road and they were so good, made even better by being served with homemade whipped cream! What a relaxing time together for us!

I stayed here for a week with my dog The general manager and her team were amazing and treated us like family! The breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean! I travel all over the US and this has to be one of the most Pet Friendly Hotel I have ever stayed at! They go up and beyond to make sure your pet is comfortable and has everything! Their is a lot of grassy areas around the hotel to run your dog and what ever else it needs! Thank you so much for the awesome time staying here at the Tru by Hilton!

I have no idea why this is a 1 star hotel on Google Bonnie was so kind and helpful to get us in our rooms The lobby is awesome

The pool is fantastic The gym is awesome BUT THE BEDS ARE INCREDIBLE Love that they have given a nod to more of a sustainable approach to their soap, lotion, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner Rather than the small, ok tiny, bottles, they have refillable ones attached to the wall The 🍋 lemon hand soap and lotion is deliciously scented

This Best Western location should have the “Plus” taken out of the nameIt is just not being maintained well And everything is there is very cheap

A normal Best Western is nicer than this placeDo yourself a favor and stay somewhere cheaper for just as nice or better Or pick a nicer place for the same or just slightly higher price

Carrie j Heck

The people I transported stopped here to chat we were going to stay but the prices were a little up and it changed when they found out that there would be kids staying in the room so they decided to go to another hotel that didn’t change their prices they also do not have a laundry room there that I’m aware of but it was clean outside we didn’t get to see the rooms the lobby was decent I would do research if you’re going to stay there or near that place

This by far was the best B&B experience I have ever had We stood here this weekend to celebrate our 26 wedding anniversary We really enjoyed our stay! From the moment we entered to the very end we were treated as if we were the only guest by the attentiveness given by Caesar

The hotel, room and the architecture very detailed and the cleanliness was top priority by all This place is a hidden secret the grounds were just beautiful the staff must be commended on a job well done! The energy of the staff was infectious! I became so used to poor service and attitudes during the pandemic that I forgot what good service felt likeThe food was outstanding everyday fresh home made food We felt like if we were dining in a 5 star 💫 ⭐️ Restaurant The personal tour that was given to us took us back in time You will definitely NOT regret staying hereCaesar you are a very courteous, polite and delightful soul! My wife and I just stayed at the Artist’s Inn for the second time This visit was very different because last time we stayed in one of the separate houses and this time we stayed in the main house Our first stay was really nice, but this visit was amazing

Jan could not be a better host Not only does she prepare truly amazing breakfasts, but her attention to detail makes every facet of the stay wonderful Jan’s touch was reflected in everything from homemade cookies to extra wonderful linens and toiletries The house itself is wonderfully appointed Our room had a very comfortable king sized bed, a jacuzzi tub and a nice sitting room Jan is very knowledgeable about the town and surrounding areas and even though we’ve been to Lancaster a zillion times, this really helped us plan our days while there If you’re looking to be pampered at a real B&B, this is the real deal The only downside was we didn’t get to meet Bruce, but I’m sure we’ll meet him next time

Jen and Jason Smith

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Artist’s Inn in February 2022! It was our first B & B experience and I don’t know that we could ever stay anywhere else Jan and Bruce are amazing hosts: friendly, accommodating, helpful, you name it Just good people

There was a snowstorm the weekend we were booked to arrive and Jan called personally to see if we would need to reschedule Jan’s breakfasts are amazing — they kept me full all day We so enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast The historic house is charming Our suite was adorable and I enjoyed the whirlpool bath Can’t say enough good things! We live six hours away but definitely plan to go back

Denise Robinson

For my family and I, this was our first trip to Pennsylvania Wasn’t sure where to stay I came upon the Sisters house, and keep going back to it, luckily our dates were perfect for three nights in Sophie side! When we arrived , we knew right away we made right choice to stay here! Clean, decorated nicely, funny books to read, food for snacking, they thought of everything to make our stay so comfortable! Even supplied laundry soap to wash clothes, it’s the little things they thought of that made us appreciate this lovely place! We would gladly stay here again! Thank you so much for your fine hospitality! The Robinson & Pastore family
