A comfortable stay in the middle of a rustic town

The indoor pool/spa with views of the “V” was wonderful! Plenty of on-site parkingthe hotel is located just two blocks from uptown shops and restaurants, making it a great walkable location to stay The complimentary breakfast (bagels, muffins, yogurt, coffee/tea, juice, etc) was fresh and tasty Staff was very friendly and helpful Will definitely stay here again!

I stayed in a presidential suite for 4 nights It was many things, but presidential was not one of them+ No full length mirrors in rooms or suites

+ Needs a new mattress I sunk into one side while the other side was lumpy+ Terrible lighting in both bathrooms for make up application+ No regular housekeeping service and nobody told me I had to ask If someone is checking in for 4 nights, they should be advised if they need to request housekeeping or supplies during their stay when they check in+ Carpets need cleaning in suite They’re disgusting+ Furniture torn and tattered – literally large rips in sofa and stains on the fabric furniture+ Thin walls – loud music from other rooms and floors can be heard through the walls and floors Outside walls thin, too – motorcycles, engines revving, yelling/arguments in the parking garage all times of night (Full transparency – the parking garage belongs to the mildly seedy casino next door, but happens to be along the entire back side of the hotel So if you’re room is not on the street side of the hotel, expect continuous disruptions from the clientele of the casino while they’re using the garage at night)+ Hot tub jets are broken+ Literally the only saving grace at this hotel is the staff They’re incredibly kind and quick to respond to needs It’s unfortunate that whomever is responsible higher than the every day staff to ensure the hotel is deep cleaned and well kept isn’t doing their part It’s not just a disservice to the guests, but the wonderful staff that work there A special shout out to Eva – she’s incredibly kind and helpful A beacon at the front desk The staff is why I gave 3 stars, instead of 2

Let me start out by saying I am a bonvoy Marriott member This was the absolute worst stay at ANY Marriott If you are in Carson City stay at the other suites, I believe it is the stay bridge suites on the other end of town

Dirty, fake cheap soap put in an old Paul Mitchell box, pool was dirty and then closed Really such a poor experience

A rustic retreat in the small town of Tahoe Vista, with a small private beach and near many attractions (NV casinos, decent restaurants, boating, mini and regular golf) We’ve been coming here for years The rooms could be more up to date, but it is rustic, not modern

Service is available by request only Prices are mid range for the area If not getting a lakefront cottage, go for the forest side, better value than ‘lakeside’

Mrs. Sanchez

Stayed in room #15 and absolutely loved it! Super close to the water (wish we were on the beach but it was still very close) room was clean! We arrived late and they had no problem putting our key in a lockbox We stayed two nights and it was overall a lovely experience!! Very quite and a nice relaxing getaway wish we could have stayed longer Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to Tahoe!

Our stay thus far has been good The staff is phenomenal Jody really does a wonderful job of making people feel at home

She goes out of her way to prepare food and engage with the guests She offered great suggestions regarding fun things to do locally and really adds a personal touch to the evening social All of the staff works diligently to make sure this location presents at its best: from the on site engineer that is constantly touching up the paint or checking the water quality in the pool/spa to the breakfast crew that makes sure foods are replenished We had a few issues regarding loud noises coming from the vent in the bathroom and phones that sis not work in our room Other than this, everything has wonderful at this location

Subhayu Chakravorty

Pretty nice place to stay along with the staff The included breakfast is great as well The receptionist was very helpful

We were delighted with the cleanliness and organized suits The jacuzzi was awesome during a cold winter nightThe bookings were non refundable and that was a shame since we had two people bailing Other than that it was a great stay and will definitely come visit this place again

Julia Hawkins

Management was extremely helpful checking us in and answering our questions We were in a two bedroom suite and it was extremely clean and very comfortable Had everything we needed and it was beautiful! The hotel is only a year old so everything is up to date and brand new

Mattresses could be a little softer but it wasn’t too bad They have a pool, jacuzzi with a nice lounging area with fire pits Easy drive into Reno when staying in Reno isn’t an option

I have stayed at The Crown several times for work and with my family Each time I have been very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, friendliness of the staff, variety of amenities, and, of course, the absolutely unbeatable location! Melissa and her team work tirelessly to make every guest feel like family and go out of their way to accommodate guest requestsThe pool construction is clearly communicated at multiple points when booking and checking in, and with Lake Tahoe steps away from your room, who would even notice? Can’t wait to return again!

Robert Filary

Great location to Kings Beach restaurants Nice views of the lake Property is old and tired

Room was very dated and tired… unless you like dirty green carpetWe requested a room cleaning mid-stay, and it was great that we could request a cleaning time so we knew when to leave However, they never showed up Had to go back to office and request cleaning service again Very inconvenient to have to leave the room twice

My husband & I had a mini-moon in Carson City and stayed at the Hampton Inn! The stay from beginning to end was excellent! They upgraded our room for free since we were newlyweds! The suite was beautiful! The room accommodations were awesome The staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was delicious!!! I would definitely stay there again Only 1 minor complaint would be the satellite losing signal a lot on certain channels

I guess that’s to be expected though Overall, we had a great experience!

Cassandra Anderson

Alisha was an awesome night manager, every hotel should have an Alisha! She made us feel very welcomed, and was so knowledgeable about the area We were there looking for a home, and she pointed us in the perfect areas! This is a Hampton Inn, if you haven’t stayed at one before, it’s your typical decent business class hotel This 5-star rating is for the service and meeting expectations

This is not a luxury hotel, that is not what I’m reviewing, just to be clear It is a safe, clean, comfortable hotel room with feather pillows and a comfy and clean bed The rooms were clean, had a fridge and microwave (handy), and bathroom was also clean with basic amenities

Jennifer Corning

Don’t bother trying to check in on time, they won’t be ready, at least in our experience And the digital key didn’t work even after going to the front desk, so we still had to use the regular old key Service was fine, room a bit small for a suite, but everything was fine and in good repair and clean

Highlight at breakfast was the waffle maker I thought the spread was kind of limited and was expecting some fresh fruit options other than whole oranges, especially in June The location is pretty remote from the rest of town, which can be a good or bad thing

Had a king suite in the back, very little noise No a/c but in early May not a problem Plenty of room with a separate area for the very comfortable king bed

Large window in bedroom area Double sinks in bathroom Room stayed toasty with baseboard heaters during unusual snowstorm Management was very responsive and friendly Easy parking and Safeway and CVS are next door Good restaurants close by

David Della Lana

Wonderful holiday weekend trip to Tahoe City The Inn’s location is magnificent – right on the lake, easy walking distance to the heart of Tahoe City shopping & restaurants Plenty of free parking, rooms are basic & small, very but clean and nicely appointed with mini-fridge & microwave & high-quality local coffee

Management was kind & responsive – check-in/out was a breeze Look it’s not The Ritz, but it’s totally charming when you get a real metal room key labeled Rm#1 🙂

Matthew Williams

We read the other reviews about noise and thought “how bad could it be” From our first floor room we could hear the people above us walking around and know exactly where in their room they were The outdoor walkway on the second floor was also fairly noisy

The rooms did the job The bed was comfortable, the TV worked, the shower was great Our room had some weird amenities There was a clothes steamer but no hair dryer There was an iron but no ironing board There were no decorations (not an issue, just the first place I’ve stayed without something hanging on the walls)The location was great Easy to walk to restaurants or borrow the bikes from the hotel for a ride

The rooms were old and dingy for the price they charge But

the location was beautiful, and the local restaurants were all amazing and yummy, also, being able to conveniently walk to go sledding or skiing is always a plus especially while toting the kids around The staff was kind, they just sorely need to upgrade their rooms and clean it up more often We went during the January winter of 2021, so I’m sure covid effected this place a lot

Dorian G

Nicely located, tree top adventure is really cool and good food for Dinner However, breakfast was not good, rooms have not been renovated since some time, outside restaurant didn’t had French fries for 3 days, you pay 10 USD for a Cappuccino and the service at the front desk is good for checking you in but do not ask any questions (especially not if the can send someone to clean the room, they will never show up)

kferoldi

Beautiful location but the rooms were old and dirty Our kids walked around the room barefoot and within just a few minutes their feet were Black If you walked around in socks – your socks turned black too

The carpets were absolutely disgusting Besides that- the location is great We were there with Family We completely understand that other guests are likely tracking dirt in However, We felt our experience needed to be addressed

Room smelled bad, like wet dog Probably because the hotel allows pets Very noisy loud wind sounds blowing in from outside from the AC/heat unit even when we turned it off

This is on me but I forgot my toothbrush and you have to purchase one, which was surprising since I’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t have these They have a “store” and charge extra for things other hotels of the same price range provide No gym, breakfast is extra $$ No lotion Only one bar of soap (usually there’s one for the sink and one for shower) Very VERY basic hotel and was expensive for what you get ($400+ for two nights, 1 queen bed room, maybe bc Memorial Day weekend) Bed is not bad but still not worth it My first and last time at a My Place Hotel Wish I had booked at the holiday inn express just down the road

Lhynnix

Great location for our Lake Tahoe trip It was only 30 mins away from Lake Tahoe Price range affordable

Room was very clean Comfortable bed I like the kitchen area (perfect for more than 2 days stay in the hotel) They accommodated us for our late check in Friendly staffs Also, free coffee and teaDid not use the room service such as breakfast in bed deal That would be perfect for people who have more leisure timeDefinitely, recommend the My Place Hotel to family and friends

As a hotel, I think the place is mis-advertised The photos are generous

the hotel rooms do not look like cabins and felt quite stuffy The service wasn’t great since of course, this is a timeshare and not a hotel I was expecting a lot more from the marketing and was quite disappointed The hot springs are not included and actually cost $55 per person even if you’re staying here! Far away from everything and inconvenient as well not to mention this place is not quiet as other guests have mentioned I heard kids playing in the room next door loudly and clearly through a locked door in the room

Scott R

Stayed in 2101 in the man building starting with the positive: Hotel is setup with Full kitchens and bedrooms and were well appointed and clean, The issue is that it seems a bit tired The bathroom shower had crack in the pan

(Not sure where the water was going) The Bathroom faucet required two hands to turn the water on and the sink was cracked as well The biggest issue was the air conditioner The place is over the mountain from Lake Tahoe and is a good 10 degrees hotter than Tahoe The AC had a hard time to keep up the whole time we were there and it just gave up completely, 2 days into our stay Their solution was to give out Fans, instead of really fixing the AC units We were with a large group and several people staying in the same building had the same AC problem If they want to book rooms in the summer, they need to invest in new AC units

Over priced for what you get I do like that each room is themed We had the cowboy room with a king bed

Bed was pretty comfortable with lots of pillows which was cool The bathroom shower was a corner shower and very small Be aware if you aren’t a tiny person You get 1 assigned parking spot for your room which they strictly enforce which is nice I got a call during dinner about our parking spot that they were going to tow someone because they knew it wasn’t us The guy who checked us in was super nice and gave us good tips for the town Will return!

Joseph Hoffman

We stayed here for three nights The visit was great! Staff are very friendly and very helpful Rooms are very clean and all have a different theme

Parking is super easy and the downtown area is accessible either by walking or driving There is an excellent yard surrounding the motel where guests can relax and enjoy the view of Virginia City and the surrounding area The view is probably the best view available in town

Sally Rhoades

I enjoyed staying at this little motel It was like the old roadside motels I remember from years ago The best part is the grassy lawn out back, in the evening just relaxing and enjoying the view

Don’t expect much but a place to lay your head, it’s not fancy but the beds were comfortable and it was clean enough

This place has so much potential, but the owners don’t do anything with it It’s competent silent inside, no music or customers or anything They keep a bunch of useless junk all over that makes it look like a 1990s garage sale

If you ask for a drink, the bartenders act like you’re bugging them Also, everything is so dirtyAnd the hotel is horrible too The mattresses must be original from 1889 Nothing is ever kept up or repaired

Mark Silberling

Very cool old hotel with that old western charm However, when they say the walls are paper thin, they’re serious Unfortunately we had people 2 rooms down that partied obnoxiously 2 of our 3 nights

There is no one on site to enforce their quiet policy Also, the do not disturb placard on the door apparently does not apply to housekeeping Enjoyed the adventure but wouldn’t stay again

Qihua M

It was quite entertaining to check out the silver queen dress made of hundreds of silver dollars, and Mark Twin used to stay there The hotel has a private chapel for local weddings that my local friend told me she had friends getting married there There are lots of local patrons and visitors coming in and out to see the Silver Queen dress, I guess it is a must-see attraction in the Silver Ghost Town in the Silver State!!! Cheers! 😊😊🙏🙏

I encountered great service from friendly folks at the Crown Point Restaurant I went to the Sunday buffet brunch on my way to an appointment in Virginia City Everybody there were kind, informative, and super nice

The food selection was flavorful and plenty I’d definitely return there for food The bar had some interesting selections which I will try upon my return After consuming a bit too much 15 Year old Irish Whiskey the night before, I wasn’t in a mood for drinking any more alcohol during the brunch Next time, perhaps I found my experience there very enjoyable

anthony p wilson jr

The food here was actually really really good I definitely recommend I absolutely love the hotel

Better than I thought Would definitely spend the night here again Would probably rent one of the detached cabins I hear a lot of good ghost stories that I’d like to experience someday It’s neat to have the restaurant and bar in the same lodging area so it is a simple thing of just coming downstairs The only thing is they do not open all night

Gregory Means

Great dinner specials, great staff-both the owners & employees Friendly bar setting, very nice rooms (Stayed in Room 11) We were on a long motorcycle ride, and that shower was very nice

Love the setting! <2 miles from downtown Virginia City and all that it has to offer Cannot wait to go back!Hi Joansy

Great location in Incline Village Private beach access is nice Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help

Rooms were pretty nice Pillows were very thin Air conditioning didn’t go below 65, which is probably okay for most people, but we run warm so it was a bit warm for us Only main complaint is there is no great way to get from the parking lot to your room other than through the main entrance Dog friendly is a great perk with no size restrictions and reasonable fee

Richard Kotz

My wife and I decided to stay at this resort for our 30th wedding anniversary I must start by saying we definitely had one of the best times in our life and we have traveled all around the world! For starters one of the managers her name is Jennifer she went above and beyond for us you could not imagine !we are so grateful for her for everything she has done she is just absolutely fantastic !I hope she reads this we want to thank you again Jennifer making our stay so wonderful !The resort is very clean !the staff is absolutely amazing !the lake is absolutely beautiful the people who work there work hard young people very polite! The casino was really cute didn’t see any big winners but people were winning Love that it’s pet friendly

Only one downside this resort is very crowded which is expected! Other than that we had a fantastic time lots of fun love the area if you get a chance you must drive around the lake to the top of the mountain for sunset photos of the lake absolutely Breath taking! Would definitely return

Cheryl Freitas

I rarely write reviews for hotels, but this why by far one of our best experiences The hotel itself was so well kept and beautiful We traveled in with our dog and they were so pet-friendly

Upon our arrival, our dog was greeted with treats, doggy bags and an extensive list of doggy day cares in the area! We had such a wonderful time and can’t see ourselves staying anywhere else when we visit

I spent five days in 4 nights in Virginia City and as we pulled up to this location, it was immediately clear that we made a great choice It was amazing at the detail given to each and every room The owners were so amazing to us, they make you feel just like family

I cannot recommend this location enough and definitely look forward to staying again Thank you Charlie for everything

This place was perfect My family of 3 stayed here in November 2021 The room was smaller than a typical hotel room, but the beds are high enough off the ground that the luggage slips right under without any issues

There’s also a fridge and freezer, as well as a microwave The owners are super nice and helpful The little store has great prices and a pretty good size selection They also serve little pastries in the morning for free, as well as coffee If you don’t like pastries, they have cereal, donuts, muffins, and frozen burritos for sale The beds were comfy I was worried about creepy old haunted hotel type vibes, but was completely comfortable This is our new go to place and will stay every time we go to Carson city, lake Tahoe, or Dayton

We stayed there over the new year holiday and had a wonderful time Staci at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay extra welcoming and special The design and vibe of the inn was super cute – their branded amenities and cool decor in the room gave it that extra touch

At night they turned the fireplace on and had hot coco waiting for the guest The lobby was cozy and a great place to chill We were walking distance to the slopes and to the lake Highly recommend this place – thanks again Staci for being so great!

We decided to try out this Hotel because it’s pet friendly, and is close to the lake and various dining options and casinos Rooms here are clean and smell good, not musty The beds were exceptionally comfortable! Great grounds for walking the dog

The surroundings are quiet during the week, we were there on Monday and Tuesday Pool was closed (seasonal), the restaurant didn’t open til 9am and we checked out before then so have no information on that AC was on and off all night with no way to adjust it or turn it off That’s my only complaint

Came here for 2 nights and overall it was a nice place to stay We had our dogs with us, so they gave us a spacious room on ground level They offered us a complimentary beverage when we checked in which is always nice

They have a restaurant next to it that seems to be very popular They didn’t have access to the lake at this time but the lake wasn’t too far from here They have decent size parking lot and the rooms are cozy and spacious

Stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend and it was very pleasant It is definitely an old hotel but clean and very well-maintained It was sweet of them to offer continental breakfast with fruits, oats, OJ and toast

But it would have been ideal if they also offered some form of eggs with it That was my only complaint but otherwise, there’s ample of other amenities like WiFi, free basement parking, spacious rooms, very affordable pricing and great locationI would definitely recommend it to others 👍🏽

Great location, super close to museum and places to eat! Bed comfy Check in person was okay, felt like she was going thru motions though My room was totally dated, had issues finding light switches in dark, not located where you would think

Fridge nice and coffee maker Person who checked me out was fabulous and made me feel good despite tiny issues Breakfast was packaged oatmeal, fruit, juice, coffee Have wine and cookies in late afternoon Has underground parking

Most hotels chose white bedding and what not but this hotel really spices things up, not only does the building its self have a rustic old brick look, but the rooms remind me of old fashioned rooms that my grandmother always told me aboutAll the staff was extremely sweet and kind When I asked if they had a vending machine the lady said they didn’t but there is a Gas station right next door, and when I said I was nervous going over so early in the morning (not from around here and don’t want to stray far from my family) she offered that she could watch me from the hotel window

Dawn is a very sweet older lady who works here and she is extremely easy to get along with Not only does she have a sweet personality but funny as well Great personality for more shy people or someone with social anxiety (Which I have)Danielle is also very sweet and kind, easy to get along with and everyone always have a smile on their facesBoth these lovely lady’s deserve a raise!!!! 💕💕EDIT:Today as we left, Dawn and another sweet older lady, Regina stoped us to say goodbye to usThe original review was made like, idk maybe 4 days ago? Sense then I’d like to add a few thingsThe hotel is legit smack dab in the middle of carson city So everything is under 8 minutes away which is incredibly great One little downside that my family didn’t like is that the elevator has a small smell to it and the fact our microwave was connected to the light switchBesides that my family loved this hotel and I wish we can come back and stay here 💕And again dawn is so incredibly sweet oh my goodnessDawn and Regina in the picture below 💕
