Arrived at 1020 pm on a hot July night to arrive in a 90+ degree room on the top floor Apparently the “eco friendly” AC turns off if it doesn’t sense movement… so here we are at almost 11 pm sweating waiting for the AC to make it a decent temperature in here to be able to sleep Hope we don’t have to jump around the room in the middle of the night to make it keep working

This inn was amazing After driving from South Florida and staying in Savannah GA the night before, this was our first night in the mountains There were rocking chairs on the balcony that overlooked the river and had An absolutely gorgeous view of the mountains

The inn is settled right in the mountain literally around the corner from Ruby Falls When we got there, Mason was working and he was more than accommodating He made sure the fire pit was lit and we had sticks for roasting marshmallows He came down to help with the TV He was super pleasant and helpful and I know how busy he was The room was clean and even had cute folded washcloths with toiletries inside them The breakfast was in a quaint room that was half living room and half dining area The food was excellent…much better than a hotel chain The breakfast staff was friendly and chatty The pool looked great (there was lightning all night so we didn’t go in) The inn just had an overall quaint feeling with southern hospitality and rustic charm It was a great start to our vacation! Also the front desk has a cute gift shop

I don’t normally give a review but this Riverview Inn was exceptional Very cozy room and inviting when we walked in The bed was comfortable and clean however the pillows were too fluffy but Some people might like that

The views were gorgeous I loved that we could sit on the balcony and take in the scenery The fire pit was a nice surprise Parking was a bit of an issue for full size truck but that’s to be expected up on a narrow mountain top but we managed just fine I would recommend this lovely place ❤️

A very well done, thoughtful place It’s clean, the staff is extremely friendly, they show you around and explain things well It’s fun to stay in a place where you’re apt to meet other guests in common areas

Sound does travel a bit, but it wasn’t bothersome for us The way the place is built feels very healthy / non-toxic; for example there is no carpet, so none of the industrial chemicals one would associate with carpet The whole place feels good in this way We had a wonderful stay, a good night’s rest, and enjoyed using the shared kitchen and outdoor areas We also had a delicious dinner and the Flying Squirrel next door

Benjamin Woodill

Hands down the best place to stay in Chattanooga All the staff are awesome and the place has a great vibe It’s located conveniently to walk or take the shuttle around downtown and see the city

They also have a huge climber following and can help you with figuring out where to climb, sell guidebooks, rent crash pads, chalk, etc It’s a great place to stay You go out to climb, come back and eat, then sit out by the fire pit What are you waiting for? Stay here and see how awesome it is

Sean Ferrell

An astonishingly well run business, great staff, and a lovely place to stay For those who want a hotel experience, note that this is a hostel, and there are differences For those who like the hostel experience, it’s hard to find a better one

Stop in at flying squirrel for a delicious meal and courteous service while you’re staying at the crash pad

The hotel itself was very clean, somewhat updated and our room was nice The free breakfast, coffee and tea are great in the morning for something light to eat Checkout was easy, all done electronically and they had a place to drop off your keys at the desk

The area right where the hotel is has a couple restaurants and feels safe The East Ridge area surrounding the hotel is run down, in re-development stages and didn’t feel super safe, but we mostly utilized the hotel to rest our heads and sleep It’s about a 10 minute drive with no traffic to downtown Chattanooga, 20-25 minutes most times with traffic Staff were professional, friendly, and accommodating For the $160 per night I’d splurge and stay closer to downtown Chattanooga if we came again, where hotels prices were around $200+ per night, but located in nicer areas and more convenient for being centrally located to the downtown

Mark Bauer

My third and final stay at this Fairfield Inn It’s in a very convenient location for a stopover when driving between Florida and the Midwest The hotel is aging and badly in need of a refresh — including my lumpy bed

But that wasn’t what really bothered meI checked in during a heat wave and the outside temp was 104 The a/c in my room was actually turned off and the temp inside was 89 degrees It took two hours for the room to be comfortable Was the hotel saving money on electricity or does it have poor housekeeping practices? The next morning I was in a hurry to get back on the road for another 10 hour drive I found there was no hot water in the shower I didn’t have much time so I took a quick unpleasant cold showerWhile getting dressed I called the front desk and spoke to Clyde While he was polite he essentially blamed me for everything The room was too hot on check in? Well Clyde said — I should’ve asked for a different room After a 10 hour drive traveling alone with my dog — I want a room that’s maintained and I don’t accept it’s my job to let the hotel know when basic services aren’t providedAs to the shower Clyde offered to come up and fix it But this isn’t a resort hotel This is a moderately priced hotel on an interstate highway where people stay overnight I didn’t have time to wait for someone to come up and fix it I needed to get back on the road for another 10 hour drive How can the room be clean if the staff didn’t notice there was no hot water in the shower? It’s not my responsibility to tell the hotel that a room is uninhabitable and needs maintenance If the hotel is actually cleaning the room, how could staff not notice no a/c or hot water? Clyde tried to blame me saying I should’ve complained But Clyde is rejecting the basic concept here of a Marriott providing basic needs without having to ask for itI’ve stayed here twice before and won’t stay again Even without the problems — this is an aging property in a city filled with brand new hotels charging approximately the same price You can do much better than staying here

Laura Slowinski (LearnWithLaura)

We stopped here just overnight so it would break up our long ride The hotel was clean Our sink was clogged and the sheets were stained, but the front desk staff was super friendly and they had a toothbrush for me because I left mine in the car

Random thoughts, but overall not a bad place, just not the best either We were safe and were able to get some sleep

What a great value! Got this booking on a Priceline opaque deal (they just give me a price, not the hotel) and I am so glad I did thatHotel was recently renovated and it shows Clean room, clean bed

I like the concrete floors too, hotel carpet always is gross The room is a bit small but traveling solo it’s perfect If I had the whole family it’d be a squeeze but it might work Room has a microwave and mini fridge which used to be common but seems to be going away in a lot of budget hotelsDesk manager was very friendly and helped me with parking a large moving truck and trailerSuper Convenient to I-75 and surrounded by a bunch of food options and walkable to a gas station next door with a lot of optionsChattanooga is always my half way point stop-off on road trips between Michigan and Florida I’ve stayed in a number of hotels on this strip but never this one specifically I’ll definitely be staying here from now on

Lauri komita

The staff was very friendly The room was clean Rooms were recently renovated and nice

Has cement floors that were cold but so much cleaner than carpet! Was nice to have a breakfast but was just cereal and toast Coffee was hot You will definitely have road noise if on that side We were on backside of motel so was not an issue Bed was supposed to be a queen but was a double Front desk argued that it was but I measured and was not Electric went out Staff got it back on Said we’d be reimbursed with some credit but we never were and front desk said they couldn’t at check out

Shawn Putnam

Wow

i am blown away by this spot!!!Great little Hotel with a GREAT priceRooms are spectacularly clean!!!Rooms are modern!!I purchased a queen room, the room is not real big, but it is clean as could be, and great decoration as wellBed is very comfortable!Very convenient location!!Many restaurants, coffee shops, treat shops etc near byI would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel has a nice location right off the highway There’s also a mall and an over abundance of convenient and various food options all within a walk or quick drive away (though with all the traffic you may not want to do the former) The building looks well kept and the rooms look clean an updated

My only complaint is that the beds were too stiff for my tastes The pillows were nice, though

Monica A

Upon entering the hotel it was very nice and clean and the hotel staff were nice as well We stayed in a room with a Queen size bed and a sofa couch The room had a very stale smell but nothing a little Lysol couldn’t help

The sofa couch was very old and stained as well, it definitely needed to be replaced We didn’t make much of a fuss about it because the bed of it was clean, very small and flat but clean The Queen bed was nice, clean, and comfortable The bathroom was in great shape and clean, as well They offered a complimentary breakfast that was very bland and unappetizing My biggest problem and the main reason for the 2 stars is the indoor pool My kids were very excited about being able to swim however, the pool was very dirty The walls and floor were completely brown The water was so cloudy you couldn’t even see your hand in it I’m not sure if it was from the chlorine or just because it was dirty My kids and I got in and immediately got back out I’m very disappointed! I picked this place based off of the reviews and was completely let down

Crystal Dallas

The Hotel was great I absolutely loved everything about it, from Greeting you when you walk in, The Cleanliness of the rooms and through out the hotel and the wonderful breakfast The only reason I gave it an 8 were because the walls could use a little wiping down and the Curtains could be cleaned

But other than that it’s a 5 star for me!!!!

For my first visit to Chattanooga this is probably one of the best places I could have stayed It is on the road with several other hotel establishments But it is at the end of the road overlooking a beautiful Green River Bank

The view from my window was gorgeous The hotel is being renovated into a DoubleTree, and they’re adding all of the finest touches one could want

Jason Fitzpatrick

Well, this site was definitely a disappointment For one

none of the front desk staff wore masks, if they were even at the front to begin with Most of the time the front desk was vacant At one point, we stood in the lobby for a solid 10 minutes waiting on someone so we could ask for some towels (since the ones in our room had been taken during the servicing of our room) The ice machine on our floor was not working, but there was no sign directing us to another floor for ice When I notified the desk they just said it’s on the service list I also notified them of the toilet paper holder that was about to fall off the wall, to which they replied “Yeah, we know about that” As for the view from our room it was of the rooftop of the pool Don’t expect a breakfast at this hotel, unless you are ready to pay for it Definitely not staying with this hotel again ever And honestly, it left a bad taste in the mouth for Holiday Inn in general

Adrian Hampton

Very friendly staff and no issues with check in or checking out Lobby and pool were nice Room, while appeared clean, was in very bad need of refurbishment

Lots of painted over damage and I suspect that there was some major water issue that happen as we noticed most of the rooms appeared to have signs of water damage at the bottom of the doors Also furniture in the room had seen better days with lots of stains and wear I would stay here again however but hopefully IHG/the owner has plans to renovate these rooms to match the lobby and common areas

This review is not for the hotel, but for Sharon at breakfast in particular She is the main reason why I choose this hotel when my work puts me in Chattanooga She makes sure that your day starts off with a smile

She remembered my name and what food I liked after the very first day, and helped me start every morning off right She deserves recognition for going the extra mile with every guestPS – I had a small plumbing issue at 9pm that the woman from the check in desk had to be the one to come fix She came happily to fix it I understand that front desk employees have to perform many tasks, but I don’t believe that she should have to come perform a task like that due to the lack of a single maintence worker at 9pm

Brandon Felts

The Cons: Room 405 needs service work on the HVAC system The bearings are going out on the blower The noise made it difficult for me and my family to sleep

The mini fridge was marginally cooling during our stay The price was not worth the overall experience We might be considering other options for accommodations during our next visit to the Chattanooga areaThe Pros: indoor pool was maintained and the maintenance staff were very friendly Groundskeeper enjoys his job and takes pride in the exterior maintenance and upkeep of the flowerbeds, etc The breakfast staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and made us feel like family The Electronic self check-in process works and is efficient Room was clean, lobby was cleanDuring our stay on 7/15 and 7/16, we encountered these inconveniences: We used the Hilton app to secure our booking and purchased breakfast for 3 for two days, though the hotel had no record of it at the breakfast station until we showed a receipt with proof of purchase to the front desk and we were then provided vouchers Tissue paper was not fully stocked in the room, so we had to ask for it at the front desk Mini fridge improperly cooling Noisy AC unit blower motor in room 405

Gelicia Williams-Horton

Our stay was AMAZING! Anna at the front desk was great, she was so friendly and welcoming, she truly went above and beyond to make my family feel at home The room was very large and clean, the breakfast was great, Sharon was very helpful and welcoming as wellShe made sure we had everything we needed in the breakfast area We will definitely stay again if we are in the area

Location is very busy, but that’s what you’d expect for the area Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, and a great continental breakfast in the morning Some staff was fantastic, others were a bit iffy

Loved the ladies cleaning the rooms! So personable and welcoming A major breath of fresh air, and our kids loved their smiling faces

Amy Lenz

Stopped in for a short overnight (got there after 12) but had a good impression Lobby was expansive but somehow still cozy Rooms were comfortable and efficient

Lots of food options nearby (which we didn’t get to enjoy) Only “down-side” was house-keeping knocking on our door a little after 10am Granted, I didn’t have the sign on the door but was letting my son sleep in, so equally my fault Didn’t get to try breakfast Would definitely stay here again

Adra Maxwell

The bathroom here in our room is EXTREMELY small Room was somewhat clean The bedskirt on both beds has stains/dirt on both beds

I was not happy about that The ac did work great though So that’s a plus I did enjoy breakfast, as it was hot Scrambled Eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, muffins, etc Some of the TV channels weren’t working, not sure why

Excellent hotel for the price! The staff was kind and accommodating, the room was old, but very clean It even had a kitchenette! The price was very good for what we got Absolutely would recommend for anyone looking to save money while still having a clean, enjoyable stay

(The pictures were after I messed up the room It was very clean and tidy when I walked in)

Debora McMullin

Quick one night visit with our oldest Grand and picked Mainstay on just a whim Online pics looked good and within our price tolerance Phone call to Rich on the front desk – got us fixed up with a good price

Entire facility was neat and clean, double bed room was large – spacious – full size fridge – microwave – dishwasher No fuss no muss and coffee in the morning Don’t offer breakfast but that was no deal breaker for us Excellent value in a straight forward deal 5/5

J G

Our room was a bit crowded with 4 people It was wonderful to have a full-size fridge/freezer The toilet flush was quiet so we didn’t all wake up when someone got up in the middle of the night

The room was clean They had a dehumidifier in the room which helped immensely with the damp, humid weather in Chattanooga The first morning there was smoke coming from the toaster but we cleaned it out and was not a problem the rest of our stay There is no breakfast included contrary to what the website says

Highly recommend!I’ll admit it I wasn’t sure bout this place when I booked it Nothing against them, just usually I stay with a particular chain due to being a really high level rewards member (used to work for same chain)I was definitely impressed and keep trying to find excuses to stay there again

Room was cleaner than rooms I had seen at more upscale placesInteractions with front desk were always friendlyWell-lit parking lot and well kept groundsSuper comfortable bedDespite it being a busier time for them, no noises from surrounding roomsLast, but not least, the tub/shower Wayyyy nicer than any of the ones I’ve ever had lol Also, the hot water never ran out 🙂

Chrissy Marie

It was clean minus what appeared to be a stain at the bottom of the fitted sheet Sadly, we got complained at for asking for more towels when my friend didn’t know to ask for pool towels Then, they rushed us out after a 7 day stay

It wasn’t even 11am Coffee was the only thing available for the “continental” breakfast I wish there would be a discount for them not even offering fruit and yogurt or something Even though we had a smoke free room, the smell of smoke from the other rooms was strong in the hallway It would be ok for a day or 2, but 7 was not ideal there The pool was nice! The staff was not as friendly as expected

AGM Sean , Kim at the front desk and Tim are all wonderful at what they do You can tell they truly care about going above and beyond for guest ! Every time I am there those 3 in particular make me feel welcomed The rooms are good for a couple or traveling alone and I love the smell of the lemon soap in the bathroom ! Breakfast is always delicious and I think the pancake machine is a really cool addition !

Room 218 (faces Red Roof Inn) My reservation was for 3 nights while in town I had high hopes, but as soon as I pulled into the parking lot and saw the people hanging around outside at the Red Roof Inn, which shares the parking lot I knew I wouldn’t get any rest for worrying about my vehicleThe reception and check in was speedy and very polite

My room, 218 felt like a humid jungle upon arrival The rooms are small, but a fridge is in the room and the TV was large The water pressure and hot water was lacking terribly; I have more pressure in my 5th wheel I let the water run on the highest “hot”setting for over 20 minutes and it never got pass luke warm If you like extra firm beds, then you’re in luck! The pillows ugh, that’s why I always bring my own Breakfast choices are what you’d expect, nothing noteworthy I definitely would not stay againIf you park on the Red Roof Inn side be prepared to be approached by randoms for money

Reviews seem mixed, but we found this place to be clean, quiet and comfortable Decor & construction/remodel seem newish Staff was outgoing, friendly and helpful

My wife saw a hair somewhere in the bathroom- somehow our culture is conditioned to react to that with disgust (me included) but, like others have commented, for me it’s really not a big deal Shower water was 1/2 degree cooler than I’d have preferred- wish they had knobs that “…go to ELEVEN!” – but otherwise the shower was great, with nice shower head (clean, and new)

My stay was horrible The rooms feel dirty and dank The pool was nice

Our room had a terrible smell We were moved to a different room It was still less than desirable The evening check in staff was friendly but uneducated on how to properly complete check in for a guest whom has prepaid for the entire stay! I always book and pay prior to stay The hotel initiated a hold on my debit card for the COMPLETE stay amount!! Here it is 8 days later and the hold is still there!!!!!!!! This is like stealing money I have no access to those funds that I earned! Not to mention that I paid for the entire stay already and prior to checking in My family and I took this trip as a quick vacation for our son and you can imagine how it dampened the entire trip to know that the majority of spending money was tied up I spoke with the GM of the hotel and he comped our room and told me he released the hold I have contacted the CBO for Sonesta and I continue to be given the brush off My recommendation is DO NOT stay at this hotel It could be a very unfortunate experience
