I recently stayed for the Buffalo Marathon weekend and was incredibly pleased with my stay The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly and the room was perfect I was very appreciative of the table with water and fruit for the runners after the race

Thank you for that! This was a great place to stay and the friendly staff made it even better Not one complaint about my stay

Mary Mitchell

Room smelled like it was a smoking room not too long ago Shower fixtures were not installed correctly and hotel will have mold in the walls very soon if not already Elevators were not working several times during my stay and I had to walk up/down 9 stories

Many services are still not restored from COVID Bar area was nice and Starbucks was fast and efficient every morning Easy access to the convention center and you don’t have to go outside of the weather is not good

Robert D’Orso

When we got there, there was a 15 minute wait to get to our room, which was unprepared Once we got into the room there was a huge stain on the ground and the room was next to the elevators We moved over to another one but it was still outdated and dirty in some locations, like the window for example

The main lobby and public areas are beautiful and fancy, but it is not replicated on any floors above The pool was closed because it was not easily accessible to disabled individuals I understand why it should be made accessible but it should have been accessible a long time agoAlthough the people are nice and the location in the city is perfect, some necessary things must be fixed before it is the ideal hotel it is aiming to be

Everything you want in a B & B experience Check-in was very easy, our third floor room was lovely and spacious Everything in the room has been updated really well while maintaining unique charm

Comfortable bed too! Our host had lots of tips of things to do in the area and the yogurt, granola, fruit, and banana bread breakfast was just right for us We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and taking in the neighborhood with coffee

laura pascell

Five stars aren’t enough If you’re looking to stay in Buffalo, look no farther It is a restoration in progress but still a breath taking example of Victorian architecture

All amenities are top of the line Beds are extremely comfortable and all the rooms have a fridge and a keurig The bathrooms have heated floors which were a real treat during a cold Buffalo winterThe common rooms were all beautiful and our host Ellen made us feel right at home, I can’t think of anything that I could have needed or wanted that wasn’t already supplied for us Absolutely a perfect experience!

Great Hotel, if you don’t care about customer service The hotel was empty and asked for an upgrade, since I am a Platinum Elite Member and the front desk manager said he didn’t have any rooms available My room was nice, but small and had a post in the middle

My co-workers rooms were nice large suites I made the reservations for 5 of us and asked for a high floor with a bath tube and I didn’t get it I was there for one week and asked the front desk manager everyday and never got a response or upgrade Hotel was very clean and nice

Heather Horn

Beautiful, clean hotel Breakfast buffet had so many options for hot foods! Air conditioner, fridge and microwave were all in great working condition The room was spacious

There are outdoor seating areas that are nice pretty and lit at night I love how this is so close to the Niagara Falls Park, but away from the crowds and traffic The area is so quiet! Staff was very friendly and helpful

Mustafa Sakerwala

A nice secluded HIE with wonderful rooms and lobby The room was updated and modern The breakfast was delicious and ample with a lot of varieties

The staff was great, especially the folks who worked during breakfast time in the kitchen area The only thing that was on the downside was the lack of fast food dining and convenience store options around the hotel Other than that, everything about our stay in HIE was amazing!

I have stayed at much more extravagant hotels in the past, but cleanliness is definitely not an issue at this place! The hotel itself would be 3-4 stars But the staff truly make it 5 stars and above Randy at the front desk, and all of his associates take pride in customer satisfaction

Everyone is treated like family, and they are knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions or info about the local area The shuttle service they offer is also fantastic, and all of the drivers are prompt, courteous, and professional What a fantastic experience! Wish every hotel was run with such valuable employees!

YT L

I stayed here to take the bar exam The room is clean and spacious Staff and shuttle drivers are most professional, knowledgeable, prompt, and beyond friendly

One of the best hotel experience I’ve ever had To accommodate the bar examinees, they took on extra drivers to transport us back and forth between the hotel and exam site I truly appreciate their help It gave me a peace of mind during the stressful exam Will definitely recommend it

Luther Thomason

Great place to stay Friendly staff Parking can be a challenge

They have a shuttle (minivan) that will carry you anywhere within reason and come pick you up Driver super friendly and knowledgeable Rooms were good except bathroom You could shower, use the toilet, and brush your teeth at the same time Super small Everything else pretty good

Mary Sutter

My sister just had her wedding at the foundry, it was a beautiful venue, some of the staff was friendly for the most part, but the coordinator Marie left me very unimpressed She did not communicate well with any of us(I was moh) didn’t set up enough cocktail tables, did not put enough chairs out for the ceremony so guests were left standing It was a tight space so I can understand that would not have been a big deal on its own

But she did not follow the itinerary correctly, when the food was brought out the staff was all over the place, some people did still had not even gotten their salads while other people were finishing up their meal There was no serving utensils for the cake, so the bride and groom could not even feed each other the cake after cutting it The bride was bombarded with questions all day and that is not something she should have had to deal with on her wedding day For how much money was spent on the venue I expected a lot more and it’s very unfortunate that just days after her wedding she is looking back at all of the things that went wrong

Cheryl Stevenson

The venue was perfect for our nephews wedding It was nice to have the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same venue without having to drive to a different location The staff was very professional including the valet parking crew

We are handicapped but they went out of their way to help us get our walkers out of the vehicle, open doors and assist us getting in and out They were so helpful The waitstaff and bar tenders very nice Food was exceptional I have absolutely no negative comments to make It was a very enjoyable experience Thank you very much

Kelly McVay

Attended this venue for a wedding The reception room had a slight musty smell, but the lovely atmosphere with lights, brick etc quickly makes up for it

The food was quite good as well, with both hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and a nice seated dinner The tables in the back corner seemed to get forgotten when hors d’oeuvres were passed however when the servers were made aware they made a point to get to those tables as well Overall great experience

I was a bit uneasy after reading a few horror reviews from recent visitors Upon arrival the hotel looked promising as the lobby and hallways appeared to be clean and well maintainedHowever once we got into the room we were assigned, there was food crumbs on the floor and the bathroom floor was sticky/grimy

We went down to the front desk, got a new room and Steve was awesome plus apologetic He mentioned if we had any more issues, they had plenty of rooms available at the moment The second room was great, clean, sheets smelled fresh but realized there was no fridge to hold milk for our toddlerAgain, we called front desk and this time, it was quite a condescending tone from Paul He mentioned not every room has a mini fridge and microwave He so called “offered” for us to keep our toddler’s milk at the fridge at the front As a parent, I am not comfortable leaving my toddlers milk like this Paul went even further and said he knows we are only staying for one night and cannot keep giving us a new roomI was very taken back by this, I paid for this room As a matter of fact, he didn’t give me anything but a horrible feeling that I cannot trust this hotel againMy apologies for housekeeping at this point, I’m going to be using a lot of ice tonight to keep the milk cold and will never be returning to this hotel even if it was free

Matt C

I booked two rooms on a weekend the rate was between $150 and $160 for the night This hotel is located just off the I-290 in Amherst, and thankfully is far enough from the interstate, you cannot really hear much trafficOur experience with check-in was positive

The staff were helpful and answered any questions we had without issueOn arrival, the exterior and the property generally look nice Same with the lobby and hallways It ends thereOur first impression of the rooms is that they are small There’s not much room to move around once you get a family inside with any luggageThe interior of the room was lacklustre to say the least The laminate floor was dirty, with giant gaps to stub your toes on The furniture is well used, and abused, and appeared to be hastily wiped down but not cleaned fullyThe minifridge was clean, but the freezer inside was full of frost The coffee maker was dirty and didn’t look appealing to use at allThe TV worked, but froze up intermittently, becoming frustrating to deal withThe bathroom is incredibly small, like REALLY small – with a toilet and small shower stall, barely big enough for a grown adult to fit in Anyone with physical ailments or a larger person would have a tough time making it workThere was hair on the floor of the shower stall, and on the bathroom floor The corners of the floor, behind the toilet were dirty and full of dustWe booked a room for two adults and two kids, but the room only had two towels Again, the staff were helpful and arranged to get us more, but was disappointing this wasn’t taken care of as part of the bookingThe beds themselves were clean, but underneath the beds (yes, there’s an underneath the bed at this hotel) were disgusting Tons of dust and dirtBoth of the two rooms we booked were on the same state of cleanlinessWe had no problems with noise, other than hearing the toilet flush periodically from the room aboveWe checked out the pool area It was generally clean, but appears that some areas are in need of being freshened upI’ve stayed at a number of other Hilton hotels in the past, and have always had a great stay Unfortunately this one missed the mark completely I would not return to this hotel again, nor would I recommend it

Joshua Wakelin

This was a great place to stay

yes the furniture isn’t new, yes it could use a touch up of paint here or there, but honestly it’s not the RitzThe place was clean and the staff were amazingly polite and accommodatingI’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and I can honestly say I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Enjoyed our stay The room is very spacious and well organized There are two entries to the room and several exists to the parking

The pool side entry of the room is what we liked You can get a beautiful view of the garden alongside pool The fitness center is clean and nice The location of this hotel is perfect for shopping and lot of food options around

Alexis Walker

The customer service is Awesome! Every employee I spoke with was polite and usefulIn terms of the room, I was disappointed I stayed on the second floor with my family, including our pet

On our way to the room, we noticed none of the doors open automatically The doors are heavy and none are open with a door stopper either I found it tiresome to constantly have to struggle opening the door and pushing my baby’s stroller through the doorwayThe cleanliness of the room was good-clean sheet, towels No bugs or anything either Overall, the rooms should be updatedAnother thing that made my stay difficult was the access to a microwave There are only two microwaves, which are located in front of the front desk, which is such an inconvenience Imagine being on one side of the hotel and having to constantly go to the front desk to use the microwave—food, sterilizing bottles, etc I think there should be a microwave on each floor for guestsBuffalo is my hometown, and I always wanted to stay at this hotel—meaning excited However, I feel this hotel was top notch and prime 5-10 years ago, but now it could use some updates

The reason we stayed at this hotel was they still have smoking rooms The room was very nice Who ever the decorator was did an excellent job Great location Nice staff, definitely come back here again

T. R.

Hotel was well located and the rate was good Room was small but very clean Valencia at the front desk was outstanding

Friendly, helpful, and kind Simba the gray parrot brought some unique joy to the lobby My only complaint was our room was not cleaned while we were gone the second day But Valencia came to the rescue and brought us clean towels Many thanks to her I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Buffalo

Gopal Shenoy

Extremely friendly staff, the breakfast was very good and so were the beds for a comfortable sleep The place was very clean The only reason I did not give it a 5 * are two reasons: 1) Parking spots are limited and very tight

Luckily we could park on the street and 2) There was a strong smell of weed in the hallways I am not sure what the hotel can do about that, but still it was bothersome

My stay was just okay 🤷🏻‍♂️Nice but somewhat dated typical Marriott feel Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, whether at the front desk, restaurant or exec lounge – all service was superb

Rooms were well appointed Comfortable bed Good water pressure and tempMy main complaint was lack of soundproofing I could hear everything…and I mean everything Every door that opened in my hallway Every word my neighbors said Every sneeze Everything I’ll allow you to fill in the rest of those detailsAnd while the service in the exec lounge was great, the food options were almost laughableI would stay again but wouldn’t be my first pick

Marian Rose

It was clean and bed was comfortable Had coffee and tea available in room This Marriott is older and in need of updating

It’s not as nice as other more modern Marriott I’ve stayed at I only had 1 washcloth in room and water took forever to get hot in shower But room was clean and I had no problems staying there The rate for this Marriott was lower then other Marriott, so I felt I got my moneys worth

Robert M

The room seemed reasonably clean, though it smelled of high-intensity cleaning fluids–used, perhaps, to wipe out vestiges of cigarette smoke The room also had the usual standard comforts, including a fridge and plenty of outlets and plugs around the desk We didn’t have significant problems with noise, but keep in mind that this is a pet-friendly hotel, so you may hear barking dogs at times

The breakfast is extremely basic: microwavable breakfast sandwiches, a couple of kinds of cereal, yogurt, fruit, basic bread, waffle machines The breakfast room space is small for the number of customers (esp on weekends), so it may be incredibly noisy, you may encounter lines for the microwave and waffle machines, and there may not be enough tables to accommodate everyone The kitchen/breakfast manager mostly scowled at everyone, and once 9 am comes around, don’t be surprised if she’s already put some stuff away and starts turning off the lights The hotel is easily accessed from the highway, and seems like a stop for many folks headed for Niagara Falls The property is generally well maintained, though the western side of the parking lot has a lot of potholes, torn fencing, and other issues Overall, it’s fine–not the best, but okay

Charles V

Side parking lot is terrible, needs to be resurfaced Overall location does not make you feel safe Staff was very friendly

Room was outdated but overall very clean Bed was very comfortable Breakfast in the morning could use some improvement Would recommend at this rate, but only if you don’t have a choice to stop Also don’t go downtown Buffalo to grab a pizza, it’s quite a stressful experience You might get shot

Nat Ouellet

A budget hotel with the typical noisy AC/Heater model of the 90s Decor is somewhat dated, breakfast is basic, the cheap Digital TV remote had to be replaced in our room, but the bed was at least comfy and the staff was really courteous Convenient 7-11 store across the street

Unfortunately, the hotel rate doesn’t doesn’t match the level of other hotels in the same price range

My friends and I just stayed here this past weekend We were visiting from Toronto and it was a great experience Rooms were clean, beds and pillows were super comfortable, breakfast was delicious, the pool was awesome and the customer service was the absolute best!We had the pleasure of dealing with both Kay and Sabrina and they were both amazing

They accommodated us from beginning to end I have never experienced exceptional customer service like this and I will definitely be returning again The manager was also terrific and very kind We had some car trouble when we checked out and he was so helpful Thank you so much! We will be seeing you guys soon

Chris Woodroffe

Upon checking in there was lots of parking and the check in process was quick We went to our room which is a good size for a typical hotel roomBreakfast was well tended too with more options then a typical HIE which was nice

The lady the tended to the buffet did a great jobIn terms of location the hotel is in an excellent spot right off the highway and close to Walden Galleria, many restaurants and other power/strip mallsWhat I like best about the HIE is that you exactly what your going to get with the brand

Neka79

We asked for an exec king room which is a very nice size, but we soon realized the bathroom was dirty Someone else’s hair was all over the bathroom floor I called the front desk and they apologized and moved us to a double queen exec, which is also a nice size room

However, this room was also dirty and we were too exhausted to look for another hotel, especially since a lot of hotels were already sold out First thing, my husband sat in the office chair and almost fell backward because the chair was in bad condition Both headboards were oily from other guests’ hair products Then the bathroom had a child’s handprint on the mirror, and there was a man’s shaven facial hairs surrounding the base of the sink faucet

Beautifully remodeled rooms with a lot of character! High ceilings and tall windows too We had a large bathroom with a tub Front desk was helpful and friendly, the restaurant staff kindly gave us directions to the hotel check-in

Cons: our room didn’t have a mini fridge and I arrived after dark finding the complex confusing There was no signage to indicate hotel check-in was in back, just a mild inconvenience Limited parking if there is an event happening We arrived back past dark after our wedding at a different venue and had trouble finding a parking space in the lots

Erin Zakis

I was sadly very disappointed by my stay here I have been to 100 acres and recommended many friends here, until I stayed here myself I will no longer recommend this as a place to stay

Enjoy brunch, but don’t pay to stay here Firstly, the website is misleading I paid a large amount of money on a room I thought would be a suite We booked this for our wedding night as a mini staycation replacement for a honeymoon so I thought we were splurging and getting the good room Prior to arrival, I mentioned multiple times we were getting married – nothing extra done by the hotel itself I was offered a DISCOUNTED bottle of champagne for 89$ When we arrived in the room, it was a tiny box Very different than what I thought we had paid for The next morning, we quickly realized too late that there were no towels in the room We were forced to use face clothes to dry off! When we were ready for food, and a main reason we booked this place, we attempted to get brunch and could not as there was a wedding party there This should have been told to us when booking or suggested that we make a reservation ahead of time due to the possibility of limited availability On top of all this, we paid an additional fee to have flexible check out as late as 9pm While this sounds great, we were called the day of asking when we would be leaving At that point, wet from the lack of towels, hungry from the lack of brunch and now rushed to leave the room, we ended our “honeymoon” To top it off, I called the hotel to talk to a manager about our stay, talked to a nice man but then received no call back Not even to apologize for the inconvenience I was so hopeful and excited for this place and was so sadly disappointed I will no longer be recommending this place to the many out of town visitors that we have

Not only was the room clean but the entire hotel was Blown away with the housekeeping staff for sure As for the hotel itself, well, there’s a lot to talk about there

I have to admit, I was very skeptical of Hotel Henry before my visit As someone who values historic preservation on more than just a surface level I was less than thrilled about their tenancy in the old state hospital building I thought it was shortsighted to only occupy the central space with no intent to expand History has seen many grand Kirkbride buildings irreparably damaged by partial occupancy over a long period of time Evidence of this is the art museam that now stands where the right wing once ended I also considered the idea of putting a luxury hotel in the old state hospital to be in poor taste Finally, modern renovations inside historic structures are done terribly more often than not One example would be the worthless shell of Danvers State Hospital, another historic Kirkbride building that was completely gutted during its transformation into condominiums After visiting and spending the weekend I can safely say I was a stubborn foolPlans have already been set to renovate the current unoccupied space in the structure which is a relief The vacant sections are well secured and patrolled often Unfortunately they are patrolled by the police so there is always a cop driving around making some folks feel uncomfortable for having an interest in the building outside the limits of the hotel Right at the entrance is an admittedly small exhibit about the past history of the building More could be done to put this information throughout the hotel, but I won’t hold it against them We had an incredible (socially distant) conversation with Laura (please forgive me if I got that wrong) who knew all about the history of the building and the grounds She really went above and beyond in our eyes and truly made the whole stay that much betterAs for the renovation work, some things are left to be desired but I was overwhelmingly pleased with the work done inside the space they occupy As an interested preservationist I actaully had snuck into the structure years ago to document it, before the occupancy of Hotel Henry Comparing the building now to how it appears in my photos is really impressive The hotel retains many historic features, even down to the doors in some wards and original hardware wherever practical Opening the doorway into the stairwells made me gasp, as they are left almost exactly as they were aside from being remarkably clean Some areas of the hotel were off limits so unfortunately we weren’t able to fully explore the structure However, after having such a great experience, I have no doubt we will be back once covid is dealt with and we have more access to the wonderful structure

great experience here! bahren was one of the most friendly hotel staff members i’ve come across in awhile he was so welcoming and easy to chat with he was filled with information for us during our first time in buffalo

the suite was very clean and spacious the location of this hotel is prime, so if you’re looking to stay somewhere in close proximity to everything, this is a great choice! unfortunately, there was no breakfast when we came downstairs and we had to wait a little bit, but surely enough, it was restocked and was great would definitely stay here again!

My stay was amazing The staff was so nice, the suite was big and spacious with a nice vanity mirror for me and my fiance to take pictures in and comfy clean couches and chairs The free breakfast was amazing with a variety of things to pick from

Truly a highlight of the stay if you ask me The train passing wasn’t too loud The staff promptly dealt with spills and issues that occured in the area I booked through Hotwire with a great deal (132 a night from 171 original) but now wish I did through the app as I’d love to stay here again and rack up some points! Awesome stay! And in the heart of everything buffalo has to offer ❤️

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a peaceful and delightful hotel experience! Smooth check in process I was given a room furthest away from the elevator, as I requested prior to arriving The hotel was very clean and well kept

I felt very comfortable and welcome The complimentary breakfast was very adequate, filling and appetizing I did not get a chance to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi but I saw several groups of people enjoy it, even during late evenings, and it looked very clean and inviting! I should’ve brought my bathing suit Hotel is located next to Rite Aid which is very convenient Housekeeping did a good job as well Parking was complimentary and very easy as well I have no complaints and plan to stay here again next time I visit family in Buffalo Thank you to all the staff!

Pros nice staff, free breakfastCons there are no queen size beds, even though wee reserved the queen room and or conformation email said 2 queen size beds They have 2 double size or one king

The toilet kept running though they fixed it sort of (I finally fixed it so it would flush properly) If you get to the breakfast early it is better I went once at 815 (they close at 9) and 3/4 of the food was empty I don’t know if they allow animals but at one point I heard a dog barking somewhere on the floor If these things don’t bother you then this is a good place to stay

This was a very nice budget friendly hotel We stayed one night It was a nice large room and bathroom

The facility was quiet and provided the rest that we needed The free breakfast was more than adequate and bonus our doggie got to stay with us! We would stay again if ever in the area We did not have any cleanliness issues as some have written about Our room was very clean and new feeling

Disgusting hotel I have never been in this hotel Total disaster

We chose the Hampton Inn because unlike most hotels that offer two double beds, the Hampton offers two queen size beds – which makes for a much more comfortable sleep with 4 people in the room Additionally, they offer a 12pm checkout which is later than most hotels When traveling with kids, the later checkout time is most appreciated

Beds and bedding was clean and comfortable Breakfast in the morning was fine, although a little crowded Staff were very friendly and helpful which was refreshing A few items did need some attention: our bathtub drained slowly so by the time I was done showering the tub was almost full The bathroom fan didn’t work which made the room a little humid There was a ball of someone else’s dirty socks under the AC unit The pool was murky and greenish and really needs a proper shock treatment Nothing major All in all a good stay Would stay again

kortney marwood

The staff was very friendly and helpful We were not a fan of the sliding bathroom door as it didn’t block out sound from from the bathroom The room was on the small side for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids)

The fridge was also pretty small, but these were minor things The pool was nice The breakfast was good and had a variety The wifi worked wellOur air conditioning died at 3 am The front desk clerk came up and tried to help us fix it, but it continued to blow hot air, so we turned it off The hotel was full so they could not offer us another room The manager was apologetic the next morning and reduced our bill substantially I think it was a fluke and they did their best to fix it

Karen Johnson

Really nice, clean facility Easy on/off from major highways, anything you could want or need nearby Nice buffet breakfast was included and honestly it was so nice to see thst small return to normal even though we only grabbed coffee

Front desk attendant was so nice Overall a good stayDownsidesyou’re near the airport so it is noisy; bathroom is small and has no place for your “stuff”; pool was small so if you’re traveling with a team (we were) be aware

Oscar’s has become our favorite place to stay when visiting our son in Buffalo My husband and I recently returned a second time and felt just as comfortable as the last

We immediately started to unwind as soon as we arrived after our 8-hour drive from Boston Jen and Rob are the absolute best when it comes to making us feel at home! Thankful for the special touches – leaving a carafe of filtered water in the fridge, delicious truffles, even a touch of cinnamon in the coffee, to name a few! Not to mention the most clean, comfortable rooms, soothing breakfast, and elegant surroundings We hope to be back!

My husband and I had a 3 night stay at Buffalo Harmony House We loved it! The breakfasts really are a grand and delicious affair plus there’s so much to do in the area all within walking distance

from museums to quirky restaurants & bars and even grand mansions It’s also just around the corner from the Peace Bridge if you’re coming in from Canada If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely come for another stay Thanks, Daniel and Holly, for making our stay there so enjoyable

Jodi McDonald

From the moment we walked in until the moment we checked out 2 days later our stay was perfect The attention to detail in every room made it welcoming From a pitcher of water and 2 glasses on the mantel to the large, soft towels in the bath and the white noise machine next to the bed it was comfortable throughout

The best part of our stay was the 3 course breakfast Served on fine china by the host, Dan, it was fresh, homemade and delicious Not only did he describe each dish, he told us the ingredients and where they came from Local Fresh Amazing!

Caitlin Zubrowski

Beautifully renovated home and close to everything in downtown Buffalo My husband and I traveled to Buffalo for a concert at Key Bank Center and to celebrate my birthday We were back to Harmony House after the concert in 15 -20 minutes

In the morning, we enjoyed fresh local coffee and a three course scratch made breakfast to die for! The couple who runs it are lovely, and we would definitely stay there again
