Stayed for four nights on a short family vacation Pros: recently remodeled rooms, friendly staff, decent breakfast Cons: not enough staff to keep the hotel clean; there was a horrible vomit smell near the elevator for almost three days of our stay, pool water was cloudy and full of debris throughout our stay, a used bandaid was stuck on a table by the pool the entire time we were there, and due to hotel allowing guests of the shady Howard Johnson next door to use the hotel’s pool all of the pool towels disappeared

I think the employees are trying but the hotel’s management could do better to pay employees a livable wage as to not have a staff shortage and properly clean and maintain the property to the brand’s standard

Chris Tock (TickTockZoom)

Stayed here for a week and a half, room was very very nice abd recently remodeled, the ac unit was a bit loud The breakfast was always great especially the cinnamon rolls The staff was always friendly and answered any questions

My only cons were the relatively limited parking and that the building has only 1 elevator, so it gets a little cozy during busy times

Kathy C. Parker

Gentleman at the counter was pleasant and professional and got us registered quickly, which is nice after a 6 hour drive Lobby alway smelled fresh, unless it was breakfast time, then it smelled like bacon and eggs The complimentary breakfast has a lot of choices: pancakes, scrambled eggs or omelets, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, cinnamon rolls, orange juice, coffee, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels and more

No screens on windows, so we could not open the windows to let cool air inNo fan in bathroom, which is a must Wifi was super slow or did not workWhen I booked room, I asked to be away from elevator, we were 2 doors from it We had to call room service for an issue and they responded very quickly Yes, I would stay here again

The people who work here are friendly and the convenience to the park is fantastic Everyone I spoke with tried their best to make me feel welcome and comfortable I really really wanted to like the hotel

But honestly, l’d rather pay full price for tickets and cover the cost of parking to stay anywhere where at least the beds are comfortable, breakfast is included, and I don’t have to worry about the Creature from the Black Lagoon trying to make a break for it through the bathroom sinkIf you like extra firm mattresses, you’re probably fine However, for people who need something softer, this bed was so uncomfortable that it kept me up all night long I was in so much pain and so exhausted the next morning that actually going into and spending the day at Knott’s park was really rough I even had to call the front desk at about 230am just to get a comforter to lay on top of to try to make it easier to sleep but I was still not able to get comfortable Laying on the floor with a sleeping bag would have been marginally less comfortable but not by muchThe pool area was actually delightful No complaints thereSadly, after spending the day at the park, we came back to a hallway that smelled as though it were drowning in marijuana We then discovered a thick, black, gunk and what looked like rocks sitting in our sink To their credit, the maintenance staff did a great job cleaning it up Like I said, the people are pretty awesomeIf I’d managed to get a good night sleep here, I would have given them 4 stars at least but the hotel failed to serve its primary purpose

Sammantha Sadler

You sacrifice fanciness for convenience here The whole Snoopy wing could use a remodel, it is very old and dirty The walls are pretty thin also, don’t expect fantastic sleep

The emergency fire sprinklers had cups taped over them?!? How is that safe??? The room AC barely kept up with the July heat Bathroom sink was clogged up 6 floors and took the maintenance crew hours to resolve, while leaving my room door open the whole time, exposing my valuables BUT the staff were very nice and accommodating The lobby looks brand new, the restaurant inside is hot but very nice and beautifully run Electric scooters for rent in the lobby are fantastic ($60/day)

Brett Bartlett

The Knotts Berry Farm Hotel is in a great location You can hear the roller coasters going from almost any room The walk is about 5 minutes from their lobby to the theme park gate, very convenient

The parking lot is easy to access and the lobby appears to have been remodeled in the last decade I wish I could day the same for the rooms It appeared the only modern upgrade was the addition of a flat screen television The rooms are small and the floor felt dirty to walk on with bare feet The bathroom is cramped, and the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have slept on in living memory Each day, I struggled to get up as I felt new and increasingly more uncomfortable pains in my hips, back, neck and shoulders When we finally came home, we went through a whole process to try and make sure we didn’t bring bed bugs home with us Leaving things outside, washing things multiple times as we brought them into the house, and lots of showers that first day back I think we escaped unscathed, but it is disappointing to think we had to even take all those precautions

Staff was super nice and helpfulRooms were very niceOnly a couple suggestions, invest in something for the smoke oder, probably from the past

It’s still pretty strongOur room had an iron burn on a chair and a pretty big red stain on the carpet and our pretty bedspread had a cigarette burn on itThe pool was so clean and refreshingSheets were very niceCarpets in the hallways need to be replaced

Joe Pendergrass

Overall good value for the price although facility needs some work/upgrade Some issues with housekeeping over a two week stay but generally good service Breakfast wasn’t too appealing but looked similar to other hotels that offer free breakfast

I chose to visit local coffee shops instead so would prefer a lower rate without breakfast Still, all said, a good value compared to other hotel/motels in the area especially if you plan most of time out and aboutI do find it odd that I received a no-reply email from someone in Guest Relations thanking me for my positive feedback (I think based on feedback directly requested by them which mirrored Google review) but no mention of my negative comments Seems like a stock answer and they don’t actually read feedback If you don’t read feedback, you can’t make improvements

It all started with large long black hairs all over rooms and all over pillows Glasses at restaurant have soap stains If you eat outside there are meat wasps that will ruin your food

My dog stepped on glass I called super upset for Neosporin The front desk didn’t even let me finish telling them the issue before routing me to a number that rang and rangRan out of towels and toilet paper twice in one week No room service on anything Spilled on my sheets so I took them outside came back 12 hours later and they took the sheets and cups but didn’t replace themThis place might be cool to drive a couple of balls but the hotel staff is super rude and not even close to hospitableThey literally shoes me away and while my dog was bleeding they accused me of stealing a gold club because I left it behind They made me feel unwelcome and I’ve had extremely better service at a comfort inn Terribly over price and the rooms are outdated

Breanna Meyer

Very disappointed in this place All this place has going for them is it’s pretty They didn’t have room cleaning each day which you don’t find out till you are in your room, they have a sign on the bed

They can’t even bring you fresh towels each day There was no microwave even motel 6 has that Ran out of toilet paper was only there for two days and was only in the room to sleep All hotels at least provide extra roll somewhere When I opened the bed I found some hair on the covers Pillow case had a stain Don’t recommend

Celeste Ramirez

I am not one to leave reviews but I saw way to many reviews saying similar things in regards to their stay and I experienced the same I wish I would have read them before booking my stayThe hotel is very outdated, the rooms are poorly maintained with tons of decaying

No housekeeping Refrigerators in the rooms do not work The Blow dryer was very old and almost dangerous to use as it would spark flame when turned on The toilets would also not flush right away, it took minutes to flush away (close to 10 min of that) The water from the shower would also take minutes to drain They must have some plumbing issues Poor quality and worn out/old bathroom towels Paint scheme/decor over 40 years old This place is NOT a resort or high end hotel and definitely not worth the price Avoid this place

Don’t stay there unless you want your Catalytic converter stolen We parked in their well lit structure late at night and the next morning it was gone They have absolutely no cameras on their property for your safety besides the lobby

When i told the front desk she didn’t seemed surprised or apologetic as if this is a regular occurrence I understand not wanting to be held responsible but they should at least have cameras for safety or in the event of a crime NEVER staying there again!

Rita Orona

Came a week ago Feb 2022 and we got 3 rooms and everything was nice 👍🏽The receptionist was friendly and assisted us right away! I love that the parking is free and everything was close I have always loved the beds here at the Hilton ❤️ my room was clean and well organized I took a nice bath 🛀 and everything was perfect 👍🏽!I slept peacefully until the woman next door was crying and having an argument with her husband 🤦🏽‍♀️ other than that everything was nice and pleasant !Definitely recommend this hotel 🏨You will get a good nights rest for sure !Also they had a coffee / tea maker and I made myself a cup before checking out ❤️✅

The check in was easy The location was on a main street close to stores as well as eating places The 2 bedroom was large

We were on the bottom floor We didn’t hear any noise from the second floor The cleanliness of the door frames, window frames as well as the curtains were lacking attention of NOT being cleaned On the website the pictures show a fireplace We couldn’t figure out how to use the fireplace We called the front desk and we were told that we would have to pay $1000 for a log!!!! Say WHAT?! We were also told that they were out of logs at that moment That information should be stated on the website that you HAVE to pay extra money to use the fireplace that they are advertising and it is NOT FREE! Breakfast is from 7:00 -9:00 very small window

I have stayed at this hotel a few times before COVID It is a nice building with spacious and clean rooms The bar and restaurant are open but with limited hours which is better than nothing

The breakfast buffet is very limited and nothing to write home about but they have Starbucks coffee The bar staff is prompt and efficient We didn’t have dinner there so I can not comment on the food Overall it was a positive experience

We traditionally stay at another hotel brand but decided to give Marriott Sheraton a try as it was close to a venue we were attendingDecor of the hotel is nice, modern and bright Rooms was the same and didn’t appear to be run down

We arrived on a Thursday and asked for our room to be cleaned at the front desk on Friday We came back to the room very late & exhausted to find housekeeping didn’t comeAs we left on Saturday morning we asked the front desk to have the room cleaned because it wasn’t done as requested The front desk was very kind and radioed the housekeeping staff right away to have it cleaned for the dayWe got back to hotel at 4pm and still no housekeeping – we approached the housekeeping staff in the hallway and asked can we bring our trash to be emptied, get coffee and get new towels The person said we were not on the list to clean and she has to see if they can take our trashI brought the 3 very full trash cans from my room down the hall and emptied them myself, grabbed the towels I needed, and asked her for coffee which she rudely gave them to meNeedless to say, our experience with housekeeping wasn’t good, I expect our hotel room to be cleaned when asked for a 3 night stay and even with how nice the decor looked and the kindness of the front desk we won’t choose this hotel again

We were in town for a dance competition and this was the host hotel This was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered in a Marriott property This brand is my hotel of choice so to say I was beyond disappointed is an understatement

The entire hotel was filthy and wreaked of smoke and stale air The first suite I checked into was unbearable The second suite was not much better My only choice was to go to the Target next door and buy Clorox, Lysol, and other cleaning supplies and deodorizers and clean the room myself The microwave and refrigerator were disgusting Dried, caked on food and splatters all over Dust everywhere Splatters on the faucet, sink, and mirror The tub looked as though someone had stood in it with muddy shoes Even after cleaning , the tub was still stained I bought comforters that my daughter and I used to sleep on top of the bed, sleeping bag style Luckily I bought Raid and sprayed the room because there were huge roaches and spiders all around Unfortunately this led to DEAD bugs in our room When I complained, the desk clerk said “I’m sorry” and offered me stale snacks Calling the front desk for service was futile so the only recourse was to go to the front desk or catch a housekeeper in the halls Customer service is not at the forefront for the staff This property is severely dated and neglected and definitely reflects poorly on the Marriott brand

Sylvia Lanker

Carpet was stained, looked very dirty, torn in areas The hotel was obviously old, but that wasn’t the problem The carpet should be replaced

No amount of cleaning can help a stained, worn, separating orange carpet The Lobby & courtyard area were okay It was too late to find another hotel, which was what I wanted to do as soon as I started down the hallway Very disappointed Marriott should not have there name on this hotel, it’s deceptive not to state it a very budget hotel with true pictures I would love to post pictures, so others at least know what it looks like Definitely beware of assuming Marriott means a decent place to stay Maybe this is the best it gets in this area Will not recommend or ever stay again 2/5

AJ Dahl

Staff is polite, helpful and accommodating The room was clean and everything worked as expected Its very nice to be able to sign into Netflix on the TV for the kids

Its within walking distance to Knotts Berry Farm, Medieval Times, several restaurants which makes it very convenient Pool was clean and heated We enjoyed our stay and were comfortable I would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends

I really enjoyed my 3 night’s stay at this property We were college shopping for my son and this hotel was a good central place for us to stay Our time here felt like home

I really enjoyed the atmosphere downstairs The little restaurant food was great The sever Paul was in my opinion one of the best servers I’ve ever had He was moving so fast getting the food out making small talk and just being a pleasant positive person, then in a flash, he was off to do room service Downstairs there was a family reunion and there were other families there watching the Dodger game It was just a fun lively atmosphere Every single employee I interacted with was stellar My room was clean and so was the lobby I’m a stickler for cleanliness and I was satisfied One thing is for sure, we will be back to visit this place Thank you staff at Embassy Suites for making our stay so pleasant

Tali Toa

Highly recommend the embassy suites in La Brea, California to anyone looking for a VIP like experience and stay for affordable prices Never a disappointment staying at this embassy hotel A big plus is the free self parking, the location is convenient with plenty of amenities is within walking distance, to the mall, and shipping of any kind

The complementary breakfast is absolutely better than most restaurants out there It far out performs any hotels out there that offer free breakfast Very family friendly and the rooms can host any family size in my opinion They are clean, well stocked, and roomy It has a microwave, a mini fridge, a sink, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, etc Highly recommend this hotel

Tia Nathan

Room was great, clean, and spacious Stayed with a large wedding party and even tho there were other events, it wasn’t noisy when I went to sleep I guess the walls were pretty thick! They had free cocktails in the evening and free breakfast every morning

I came to LA for a 2 week holiday with my girlfriend We shopped around for a hotel to stay This place caught my eye with only a few bad reviews

And wow it lives up to expectations The room we got looked like it could be at a luxury hotel, the check-in was timely and very welcoming The only thing that tripped them up was the pin number but very minor issueThe manager ws always around and whenever we rung to ask them something they answered promptly and professionallyAs a kiwi I was unaware I had to request room service but the manager called and explained how it works They also work into whatever time of the day suits10/10 would stay here again and also recommend it to others

8-day stay during July 4th, 2022 long weekend & high season for summer travel: I would definitely stay here again; this is probably my 7th time over the last few years staying hereI did not plan to stay at any hotel I planned to stay at a friend‘s home but there was a terrible plumbing issue that affected the electricity issue and even my friend had to find somewhere else to stay

So at the last minute I was looking for a place to stay for eight consecutive days I had some Airbnb options; however, since I had favorable experiences with Friendly Hills Inn in the past I thought maybe I would get lucky to find eight consecutive days where I could get to stay in the same room without having to move aroundThe front desk staff was very helpful in assisting me to get what I wanted and they honored the military rate which I really appreciated I do feel safe at this hotel, Friendly Hills Inn in Whittier, CA It’s easy to get into and out of and the rooms themselves are very comfortableI like the different lighting options even though I do bring my own nightlight for the bathroom sink area The air conditioner works very nicely and in a quiet manner There’s a microwave, a medium-sized mini fridge as well as a small coffee maker The hotel room is modern contemporary and there’s a variety of softer and harder pillows so depending on if you want to sit up in bed against the bed frame or lay down you have options I like that the light switch to turn off the main lights and the lamp is right next to the bedAmenities about nearby including restaurants shopping etc there are delicious made-from-scratch soups at the “California Grill Restaurant”, and I did enjoy Huevos a la Mexicana at “Mr Giants”Discovered a great store called Upscale Collectibles on Greenleaf; a wonderful collection of gently used furniture, jewelry, books, clothing, shoes, dish ware, linens and more Great people work thereSo I will definitely stay here again at Friendly Hills Inn in Whittier, CA Again I had the option to stay at an Airbnb which I had booked just in case this hotel wasn’t available for eight consecutive days but having both options available, Friendly Hills Inn and the Airbnb, I decided to choose Friendly Hills Inn and that’s a win-win for both myself as well as the good people who run it The owners are quite nice and professional I will definitely stay here again Thank you Friendly Hills Inn! Susie 🙂👍🏻

The pics they have posted on Priceline look way better than the rooms actually are, which was disappointing But they price is affordable, and they don’t require any deposit if you pay with credit card The water pressure sucks, and then I was woken up by the workers pounding next door!! Which really sucked

They should have told us that there would be loud noise early morning!? And I wouldn’t have stayed

Check in was easy, staff was very accommodating, I have health issues which allow me a service dog, staff was very understanding and treated my dog with respect and care The bartender came and brought my dog some cold water to drink, which I thought was very sweet! Room was beautiful! Perfect! Best sleep I have had in weeks! Beds are heaven! Very clean rooms and great staff make for a 5 star review I found my new fave local hotel! Thank you Doubletree for treating us so kindly

Only two housekeepers for the whole hotel Check-in was 3-4 hours late so I had to find something to do for those hours for the whole family I got an email at 3p saying I could start my virtual check in so we were pretty surprised when we got to the hotel that there was a long line of people being told their rooms weren’t ready

Also called for blankets, pillows, and towels because the room was under stocked They never showed up, assuming due to low staffingRoom was otherwise clean and well kept

JND Sawtelle

The room was very expensive When I asked for extra coffee packets for the room the attendant said they had no more and I would need to order from the restaurant I said a hotel this large and no extra coffee? She said we have decaf

The guy behind her said let me go look in the back, 5 minutes later he came back with 2′ packets This is only an example of how rude and unhelpful the staff was For $250 a night you would think they would have more professional service

Slightly (21 miles) away from downtown LA scene, this hotel proved to be a gem We were in town for Super Bowl weekend and wanted to stay a slight ways out from the crowdsFor 1/2 the Marriott points other hotels wanted, we got the same service, if not better at this hotel

The hotel was clean, rooms clean and spacious We received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, with a balcony over the pool and mountainsSince the hotel sits in an almost residential area, if you got out early, traffic to/from LA was a breeze Now if your a late riser, then you can expect that 21 mile trip to take about an hour😂They have a pool, which did not use, as friends had a house 3 miles away with a heated pool, and one day was spend at Santa Monica BeachWe loved the suite because it had a separated bedroom from the rest of the room Suite came with refrigerator and microwave Bathroom sink are was tight, as only 1 person could be at the 1 sink bowl at a time We disinfected the room because as we hung our clothes, we noticed dust in the closets, which appears nobody been cleaning/dusting in theirBeware: You pay $10 per night for parking in an open lot There is no security out there or a gateRight outside the hotel, they have a hiking trail that goes up the mountainsWalmart is about a 5 minute drive so you can stick up on beverages and things versus paying hotel prices for these same itemsOverall, we would stay here again Plenty of shopping in the area and an easy commute to most attractions (again…if you get out early)

Nice view, perfect for a late night smoke and feel the vibes Not that I do it, I wish I could but my fiancé won’t let me Easy to navigate square building and a large work out room

Staff is friendly and rooms are clean Free mint chocolate, you know the Andes one? Green tiny bricks, that’s a mistake @Marriott, I will empty that whole fish bowl!

Updating my review, finally got in touch with the GM who finally did agree to give compensation So i raised my review alittle I wish it would have been easier but he said they are using my experience to train the staff, so maybe there wont be a next time with others

Aweful service from start to finish from reservation mistakes, to rooms not ready at check in, to coffee being made wrong, to dirty floors and tables (see pictures) and no one cares once they have your money they could care less I have talked to agm and GM!!! Well sorta the GM has yet to respond as obviously my issues do not appear to be a priorty stay anywhere else if you work hard for your money You have been warned

Loved this hotel because it offers a free shuttle service to and from Disneyland They drive to the park at the top of the hour, and usually arrive within 15minutes, so pick up will be at the 15minute mark Super convenient, the pool was awesome

Our room had been recently updated because it’s switching over to be a Double Tree hotel soon But there was no microwave or iron/ironing board Called front desk and they delivered the iron/ironing board, but the microwave is down by the front desk Lots of shops and food across the street and in the same parking lot Would recommend this hotel for Disney trippers

Worst experience ever Checked in through their rewards program called IHG Had tried to check in early but card did not go through as it was flagged by my bank as possible fraud

I called my bank who confirmed the address was wrong on IHG end Contacted them, changed address to correct one They processed the transaction fine Checked in and an hour later I get a call from front desk Veronica stating her manager Alex said I had to leave because of fraudulent activities I told her I corrected that and that’s how I was able to reserve the room They wouldn’t take that and said if I didn’t leave they would call the police As if I’m some criminal Shame on the management at this location I get that there are people trying to commit fraud, but I’m not one of them I will never visit this location again The furniture is dated The restroom is nice but not cleaned correctly when there are splatter stains on the toilet seat and hair still in the restroom stall They aren’t the Hilton That is for sure Also room 466 remote is not functional Battery is dying Elevator looks like it’s falling apart I recommend taking the stairs that have trash and beer cans It’s a safer bet Would I recommend? Never it all starts with management You can tell on how well the staff takes care of the rooms and their customers They Dont So you’re reply is that I committed fraudulent charge backs The first time ever stepping foot in your hotel was the day you asked me to leave I already said I would never go back to your hotel so that isn’t any issue for me but again you do prove what poor management skills you do have Have a great day

We have family in the area, so we always stay here Only 2 things that I don’t like: 1, is that there are no microwaves in the rooms, so bringing back leftovers from various restaurants is pointless 2, their little convenience shop for drinks and snacks closes too early

I’ve never stayed at a hotel that provides so little to their guests The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, and overall, we like staying here frequently

In general we had nice short stay Yet the fire alarm in our room was out of battery and the hotel is fully occupied that there’s no room to change to, so we had to fall into sleep hearing the alarm beeping all night! Other than that, it’s a nice hotel with good price and they offer free continental breakfast! Prepare some $1 tips to the lady who’ll make your egg sausage and toast breakfast! Nice looking small pool and jacuzzi yet i had to work a bit so didn’t get to enjoy!

Best experience ever I’ve literally never been somewhere more elegant, tranquil and rewarding in my life The host are always respectful, kind and always have a 😁 The manager is a little high tempo but I can respect that you can tell they run a tight ship and that’s cool

The beds are firm but boy oh boy they are sure comfy, large TV, large bathroom We didn’t have a chance to use the pool but from my understanding is that it is open for use There’s breakfast 🥞 🍳 when we wake up and even more 😁 from the cooks and kitchen staff Love 💕 it 💯% I’ll definitely be booking a few more weeks before we head on back up Thanks to everyone here working we honestly appreciate what you do, thank you!

We needed to plan an impromptu stay, and the Double Tree delivered! Our car broke down on the freeway, and everyone at Double Tree was so kind and took such great care of us while we stayed overnight to wait for our tow truck Our kids loved the beautiful and conveniently located pool and spa, the room was cool, clean, and comfortable, and the service throughout our staff was kind and wonderful Thanks, Double Tree, for helping us turn it around and make it a great day

Nice clean rooms, good food However Management needs to work on looking over the property for maintenance The pool, fitness center and rooms could use some work

Pool water wasn’t as clean as it could be, had bugs and leaves Right away a group of two families huddle around the jacuzzi smoking while holding an infant and two children jumping and splashing The fitness center needs a treadmill and bench fixed And found out our room’s refrigerator door doesn’t close all the way, not keeping the cold in, also the mattress is worn out, sinking in Otherwise, great relaxing time!

A very pleasant experience provided by Jessica, who was quick to check my family in with a smile in the early hours of the morning after travelling for almost 24 hours straight She went well above what would normally be expected to ensure we had an enjoyable stay and a positive experience Jessica is an excellent asset to the team at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles – Norwalk

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would I do not recommend it I would never go back

The pictures they have up are very deceiving The walls in the room were dirty The floor boards looked like they have never been cleaned The furniture was scratched and not well kept The carpet was dirty and we could feel it through our socks We splurged on a hot tub in our room, however the tile around it was broken and the hot tub looked also like it had never been cleaned We used our own blankets, since we didn’t trust the bed linens We were tempted to sleep in our car rather then this motel, if it wasn’t full of luggage we would have The only way this motel could have been worse is if it had bedbugs DO NOT STAY HERE!
