Breakfast lady was the unhappiest, grumpiest lady I’ve seen for a position that should require a bright sunny disposition for a job Hotel was clean, front desk clerks were kind I was one foot away, I know she heard me, I said “thank you for making my breakfast, she ignored me with no response, she may have been disgruntled for upper management not “fixing” her syrup dispenser which prompted the need for individual bottles of syrup to be placed out? I watched her

she is NOT a people person! The best part of wakin up 🎶🎶🎶

Beautiful hotel with so much history The area is great to walk around My baby needed to be walked at night to fall asleep and I felt completely safe waking with just him and my daughter

The bar appetizers are delicious I do wish they would’ve offered room service but that wasn’t a big deal I recommend getting coffee from St John’s coffeehouse right on the corner and enjoying it by the outdoor fountain!

What a wonderful beautiful place! It was so relaxing and private The Chalet was awesome and we were surrounded by nature, yet we we close enough to visit many places The owners definitely give you the southern hospitality

I loved lookin g for hidden art all around the place The pool and pond area has enough activities for everyone in your family It would be awesome for a family reunion or get together or perfect for a honeymoon I cannot say enough about this place, so I will quote my grandson…next time I want to stay 200 days!

Our stay at the Little River Bluffs – A Nature Preserve & Retreat in the River Chalet was awesome The weekend getaway for a pre-birthday celebration was perfect! The River Chalet was surrounded by the forest and overlooked river! We enjoyed the activities on the grounds: hiked the beautiful trails, paddle boat in the pond, kayak in the river and enjoyed the sunset through the glass windows of the River Chalet We are looking forward to booking another getaway so we can paddle board, bike ride, fish, hot tub and swim

We have stayed in both The Meadow Cabin and in The Chalet Cabin Everything is exceptionally clean and comfortable The grounds are beautiful and the people are very nice and easy to work with

They are in a perfect location It’s very quiet and private, but also close to Covington with lots of shopping and places to eat We highly recommend this place and will return!

Stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Covington, La for 3 nights for a family wedding Gigi at the front desk got us checked in an hour early and was very friendly and helpfulThe room was cute and very clean with only minor issues

A light bulb was out and the closet door mirror was broken Housekeeping did not show up, but we were part of a large wedding party, so we called for fresh towels which they brought to us quickly Breakfast is included but we missed it Overall, the hotel is in a convenient location, had decent service, decent rooms and most importantly, was clean The convenience of having a full kitchen was a plus Great for families too

Front desk people were very friendly room was spacious, bed was ok I appreciated the amount of space the king studio offered The bathroom has a shower/tub combo and the sink is separate

There is lots of counter space for makeup and toiletries Full size fridge w/icemaker, 2 burner stove and dishwasher The hotel doesn’t have a dedicated ice maker but the fridge makes it fast Did not participate in breakfast

I and my husband drove our daughter – in -law and her two children back to Covington for her grandma’s funeral, we stayed for two nights on April 1st and 2ndI have to say the staff at check-in is the worst experience I’ve ever had An African American lady did the check-in, who didn’t greet and no friendly expression

We stayed in a two-bedrooms suite which was reserved under three adults she only gave me two keys When I asked for one more she gave me a dirty look After checked in I got my families walked in and I saw cookies on the front desk I thought my granddaughter and family would love it after a long drive I asked nicely before I grabbed any she answered with hesitation then the other lady saw me and answered,of course My husband walked in later and was going to grab one cookie then the same grumpy lady told him that I only had some and that’s only for reward members! What the heck! She checked me in, she should have known that I am a reward member! How much is the cookie cost? The room costs us almost $500 ! What she did was humiliating !Other than that the room was very nice, breakfast was okay

My wife and I stayed for two nights last month, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the room and amenities We were very impressed with the level of courtesy and professionalism of the staff, especially with Mariels and with Chase, who helped us with some business documents we needed printed Nice place to stay, convenient shopping/dining nearby, movies a distant next door, even a Cafe du Monde satellite around the corner

We enjoyed our stay and was conveient to our activitiesJust a heads up as a former Chief Engineer at a hotel, the water dam in the roll in shower in room 202 is cracked and no longer sealed to the floorI also had an uncomfortable incident while getting out of the pool I stepped on a rock from the broken floor tile at the back of the hand rail OUCH

Our host Linda made our stay at Camellia House feel like a visit in a dear friend’s home She personally greeted us and took great care of every single detail We had a charming room in the back of the house with our personal area of the porch that overlooks the pool and garden

We spent a lot of time in the cozy furniture on the porch listening to the pool fountains and enjoying the beautiful plants and wooded property The king bed and linens were so comfortable and breakfast was delicious Our room and property was clean and everything labeled well for our convenience Linda took time to visit with us and make us feel welcome No detail was left out We highly recommend this darling bed and breakfast within walking distance of historic Covington We will return

My wife and I stayed at Camellia House 11 years ago the first 2 nights of our honeymoon This year for our anniversary we decided to go back for a couple of nights The house itself is beautiful

We stayed in the exact same room from 11 years ago The room was exceptionally clean, smelled fresh, and inviting The bed was very comfortable The little extras Mrs Linda provided were very thoughtful The pool, hot tub, and garden area are quiet, peaceful, and well maintained The best part of this trip was meeting Mrs Linda! She is an exceptional person! My wife and I enjoyed talking with her Her kindness and Christian spirit were more than evident as she spoke with us We highly recommend Camellia House to anyone looking for a respite! Mrs Linda is sweet and accommodating We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back!

Overall we had a good experience here and I would stay here again, aware that it may not always be glamorous, but all of our needs will be met Whirlwind trip, just enough to sleep and freshen up during our stayThe room and space: Perhaps a little worn, but clean and comfortable

Seemed dim but there were lots of lamps, as hotels tend to do The toilet made a loud clank each flush but worked fine, and we notified the front desk on our way out Our room at the end of a hallway was very quiet and close to the stairs, but it was a weeknight, not sure what noise would be like at more peak capacity Front lobby was bright and airy, nice for loungingThe staff: Very kind and helpful at the front desk We arrived a little early for check-in but got a room right away Unfortunately housekeeping hadn’t made it to that room yet after the prior guest, but the front desk was very apologetic and immediately got us a new room Also overheard them give some helpful driving instructions to another guest (“You’re going to want to turn left but you have to turn right then make a U turn” That was helpful for us later) Check-out was very easyParking: Plenty of parking around back, very convenient entrance (accessible with room key) for rooms on that side Beware that there’s only one path to drive between the front and back, so if it gets blocked (like the person with a truck+boat who lingered there for a while during one of our departures), you’ll be trapped in the back lot I imagine that’s rare thoughDining: Didn’t try the restaurant, and the bar wasn’t unavailable yet (I get the impression there’s some renovation going on?) By the front desk there’s a pantry where you can buy a limited selection of essentials, dry goods, and a bit of beer and wine if you’re in a pinch

Mixed bagThe manager is EXCELLENT She really tried to bend over backwards to correct mistakes

I checked on the status of the hot tub twice before checking in and was assured it was functional, but when I got there I got varying stories as to why it was, most definitely, shut down This story seems VERY familiar across the brand I don’t understand why these things aren’t posted as status updates on the website This being the reason I went out of the way to book this hotel I will say the manager did EVERYTHING she did to try and help me out, but in the end I would have had to pay out of pocket for another (price-matched) hotel and wait for a refund which wasn’t feasible or worth it during Mardi Gras weekend Let me emphasize how great she really wasOther than that The hotel itself is currently under construction from Hurricane Ida, so the restaurant is also down, and most of the first floor is covered in plastic and smells like paint, but it has to get fixed sometimes so I can’t really fault them for that The fitness center at least is open The lobby and breakfast area are also open and have a really nice aestheticThe beds were definitely older – kind of stiff and springy, not cushy at all, but the pillows were great The room and bathroom were clean and well sized for a king room The TV was really small – maybe a 32 inch? maybe a 24? (like a really big computer monitor), which was disappointing in the digital age, but everything was functional for some reason my room even had two phones in it The towel rack was also inside of the shower which I found kind of odd, because you definitely have to take the towels out and set them on the counter or they get wetBottom line: Would I stay again? For the price? No If the price dropped to something more reasonable? I’d consider it

Abbey Horner

Not the best stay The rooms were not up to snuff: the bathroom looked/smelled used, the lamp was on, stains on the carpet, etc, It was like they either hadn’t cleaned, or someone had been in there before we checked in

Fairly outdated as wellOn another note, Viola in the breakfast area deserves 10 stars She is downright precious ~ absolute darling and so kind The breakfast food was great and hot

Very clean rooms and propertyOnly quibble is, like all CI, is those tiny, uncomfortable pillowsNote: Bring your ownWould definitely stay here at this property again if I am in the area

Upon walking in room after a 7 hour drive I had to call front desk due a musty smell in the room, black ring inside of toilet, couch was sunk in, and was being charged $207 per night The person working front desk moved me to another room which smelled better but looked like carpet isn’t cleaned because there was red substance in carpet Walls weren’t wiped because there was also something on wall in the room

When waking up on Sunday my receipt had been slid underneath the door as usual and my charge was $463 for 2 nights but when I booked through BJs travel I was given the total of $414 before tax, which is well below $463 When I tried to address it with desk agent he told me that they charged me what bookingcom told them to charge me and I needed to contact them That is a terrible response!! I am going to contact my bank and dispute amount charged over the amount it should be I am starting to believe they charged me for room when desk agent working on Friday night moved me to other room I would like my money back that I was charged over the amount I was quoted and I have confirmation with correct amount I will not recommend this place to anyone!!

Amanda Simone

Friendly and helpful staff and decent breakfast Rooms were decently cleaned, but smelled horrible Like a dirty gym locker room

Switched rooms and the smell was there too Beds were incredibly uncomfortable, it felt like sleeping on the bed springs, and the pillows were so small and flat I had to stack 3 to get a standard pillow height

I’ve had excellent stays recently at this hotelThe lady assisting me with check in tonight was very nice and helpfulThe same thing goes for the lady during breakfast

Breakfast, by the way, is quite scrumptiousThere are some bad parkers in the lotStaying between the lines is asking too much of them, but at least there are no face diaper signs anywhere
