The best hostel!!!!! I stayed here for a week (in a private queen room) and couldn’t fault it at all Super modern, clean and awesome The rooftop bar was a huge plus, although not open every night so be aware of that

Great location to get to downtown on the bus or walk to some cool restaurants Staff were lovely Seriously can’t stop thinking about how cool the place was, wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels before and this genuinely was the nicest Don’t miss it!

Great idea, has potential, lacking in executionI stayed in one of the 4 bed female dorms for 2 nights I was very excited about a new hostel in Portland

I’ve stayed in many a European hostel so am familiar with the structure and price bracket The facility is clean and modern and the attached cafe and rooftop bar are nice amenities Unfortunately I was too exhausted the first night to check out the rooftop bar, and on the second night it was mostly blocked off for a private event that appeared to also block the computer room area, which I was planning to use I wish that guests were priority in the use of space, especially considering that the price for 2 nights came to $103 total for a dorm room which is higher than most hostelsThe layout of the shared dorms is great in theory – enter into a common area with a small locker for luggage storage and 2 toilets/2 showers shared by 3 – 4 bed dorm rooms which are accessed through this room I would think the intention behind this is to keep non-sleeping activities out of the quiet spaces for sleeping However, the lockers are too small so luggage ends up in the room anyway The photos on the website failed to show single window dorm rooms, which have a more claustrophobic feel The bunks don’t seem to be bolted to the wall, which allows them to shake a fair bit when getting in or outThe most disappointing part of the layout is that despite what seems like careful planning of intentional quiet spaces, the doors are all THE loudest self closing doors in a space with no sound absorption so you constantly hear the slam of doors at any hour someone comes in or uses the bathroom I understand rugs would be hard to keep clean, but some kind of sound absorption paired with soft-close doors would be a huge upgrade to this spaceOverall, the hostel served it’s purpose of offering a reasonably affordable and clean place to stay in a great location And all the staff I encountered seem great

Perfect place to launch a college reunion trip Lolo Pass was ideal for our group and we used a ton of the first-class accommodations We enjoyed the rooftop views, the coffee at the cafe and even participated in a local wine tasting event held in the lobby

The staff was friendly and helpful…Steering us to a great meal within close walking distanceRoom was clean and quiet Highly recommend

Just a very clean and well maintained motel Best Motel in the area for price and accommodations I think I could tell immediately when I walked in for check-in that the management of this motel truly cares about its guests

When I arrived in my room I was not disappointed and had a very restful /relaxing stay If ever I’m back in the Portland area, this will by my motel of choice

We stayed for several weeks recently due to an unexpected family emergency The hotel staff made a stressful time easier by being friendly and accommodating Special shout out to Devin and Alex at the front desk for their exceptional customer service

Also thanks to the housekeeping staff for taking care of our needs while being friendly and non-intrusive Rooms are clean and bright with minifridges, there is fresh coffee in the lobby until evening, a complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning, and there is also a workout room, pool (which was closed during our stay due to Covid), and laundry facilities We will definitely stay here again in the future Thank you, Quality Inn!

Denny Radford

Staff was very friendly and very accommodating This hotel is definitely in a desperate need of a revamp Dirty carpet in the hallways ripped in places boards move under the carpet as you walk down the hall

The room itself is spacious Much need as an updated TV older style Our room had a cracked window Found mold in the bathroom Breakfast in the morning was very very basic Not much to choose from other than Make your own waffle A muffin or yogurt I did a survey after a visit and received an email from the manager apologizing that they would notify the proper management heads and please give us a try again Basically what it comes down to is you get what you pay for Unfortunately I probably would not return

Everything was great until the girls basketball teams came then we got talked to about being too loud We were laughing at a TV show

Guess that annoyed someone No freezer, have to ask for microwave Pool was dirty with stuff from trees Lounging chairs filled with the same tree stuff and no towels at pool Yet towels were laying everywhere Front desk people were amazing

Very unhappy with the service I reserved a room for my son’s wedding night Tried to pay in advance and was told that they could not let me pay since it was for my son

Sent him the money He tried to set-up an early check-in multiple times (in advance) and was told he would need to call the morning of – when he called they declined an early check in He checked in at the scheduled time and used his card (since I sent him the money) They charged my card When I called, I was told there was nothing they could do It was a very frustrating experience all around and we will not be using them again

Clark Johnson

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff I felt the room to be a big snug, with just the two of us tripping over each other and our belongings CAUTION – Do not expect the hotel restaurant to have good food, because it does NOT

It is mostly empty so corners are cut The food is pre-prepared and then heated up I had some sort of breakfast burrito that was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten It was a concealed clump of eggs, potatoes, and meat Gross The waitress was nice, took it back, and removed it from the bill

Very nice hotel Stayed in the whirlpool suite Huge two room suite (living area and bedroom)

Very clean and quiet! When in the hallway I could hear people in their rooms, but when I was in my room I heard nothing! The whirlpool tub was great Like your own personal jacuzzi The property is right off the freeway I was on the opposite side of the building and did not hear much traffic I imagine the other side of the building was noisier I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed 5 nights First room, carpets were soaking wet from being cleaned; no big deal Second room (208) I woke up to a sound off dripping – turns out the ac unit was leaking causing mold on the wall

Front desk and manager didn’t even apologize for the issues we encountered within the first 24 hoursThird room was outdated, missing parts off the sink and tub and not clean as it should be Luckily I had wipes Pool was convenient and honestly the best part Breakfast was 6/10 – bagels were old, apple had worms in themBest Western definitely lost my business forever

Person Of the world

Everything in the room was out dated (the microwave had a dial and the fridge froze drinks) and the entire room smelled like smoke Decently clean and ok breakfast although when the food runs out they do not replace it Although what is actually in your room when you come is not much the staff are friendly and always willing to help

The divider in the rooms is also very helpful for family trips Overall this is a great hotel for the price

After checking out, there was a charge in my bank account of a couple hundred dollars I called the hotel and asked why I was being charged and they said it was because there was an ironing board, iron, and pillow missing from the room They accused me of stealing the items and had footage of me and my husband checking into the hotel but conveniently “couldn’t find the footage of us checking out”

There’s no way I could fit an ironing board in my over night bag along with an iron and pillow I called the hotel manager and explained the situation and they only agreed to give me $50 back If you don’t want to get accused of stealing, I would find another hotel to stay at

usually looking at their cellphones If you are expecting housekeeping, again you’ll be disappointed Recently stayed there 6 nights and my room was serviced ONCEand the trash was not emptied I would imagine they spent all of 3 minutes in my room The only good thing about this property is it’s location near the 205 freeway and the Safeway within walking distance

My husband and I hosted our wedding near Wilsonville and had much difficulty securing a room block with this hotel The hotel was recommended to us by a family member who stayed there for a corporate event and had good things to say about his stay We started inquiring about a room block 9 months before the wedding and nothing was settled until the week of making things very stressful as most of our guests were coming from out of town

The details: 9 months out – My husband and I contacted the hotel to inquire about a room block Communication with the hotel was EXTREMELY slow and finally 6 months out my husband received a credit card form to reserve the block Once he sent in his credit card information, we never received any word back from the hotel for several weeks We ended up driving to the hotel (we live an hour away) to ask if she was working The front desk informed us the staff member who we were working with was no longer employed 5 months out from wedding, we were then passed onto another staff member who gave us a corporate room block contract to sign (first contract we had seen) The contract would hold us personally responsible to paying up to 30 rooms if another Covid-like event happened We did not sign it as we are not a corporate company She then gave us the option of using a 15% off discount code for guests which seemed more appropriate 3 months out from the wedding, we had a sit down meeting with the staff member to discuss rooms and a bunch the following day Our concerns were that our guests were getting charged anywhere between $140- over $200 for the same night Also we wanted to host a casual morning after wedding brunch with coffee and bagels and inquired about the hotel’s policies In regards to the rooms, we were told they would work on a flat rate for our guests and the bride and groom room on wedding night would be complimentary In regards to the brunch, we were told no outside food was allowed and given options from a catering menu Menu was new and beyond the service and budget we were looking to spend We were told the catering department was new and they could accommodate what we were looking for After the sit down meeting, we received excuse after excuse in emails with no progress on the room rate, brunch options, and wedding room comp We called multiple times Eventually we reached the manager (who answered the main line) on the phone 2 weeks before the wedding who helped confirm a flat room rate for our guests and planned our brunch However, these details were not confirmed until 3 DAYS before the wedding – very stressful and frustrating considering we tried solidifying this 6+ months ago The bride and groom room was never comped and they charged us $70 more than our guest rate for a standard room We brought in 70+ rooms over the weekend to this hotel Bottom line, would not recommend this hotel for a wedding as it was a nightmare of horrible after horrible communication However, the stay and rooms were pleasant and the day after brunch ended up being nice Our guests found the stay pleasant as well

Amanda Schmidt

We had the unfortunate experience of staying here while the entire hotel was catering to an enormous wedding party When we arrived to check in for a room I booked a week ago, we had to wait while they checked if our room had been cleaned and we had to wait while they found us a clean room, which took about 10 more minutes than I wanted to spend at the desk Not a huge deal, tho odd since we arrived to check in at 5PM

You would think they would have had time to have our took readyIt was one thing that they offered zero breakfast for the price of a very basic room, but the “restaurant” they boast was sealed off for the wedding party the night before A member of our group’s room was located behind the restaurant and they had to step over a rope with their baby to get in and out of their room The wedding party was mostly on our floor and there was a ton of commotion The next morning, the “restaurant” wasn’t physically roped off as it was the night before, but only the people from the wedding party were seated and they were telling everyone else it would be a wait They weren’t making a wait list and people were starting to gather waiting to be seated, despite about 3 of the 25+ tables being occupied So we ended up having to get breakfast elsewhere The nice diner close by was backed up out the door, I imagine because all the other hotel guests had to go there as well So we ended up at Shari’s, which was not ideal If the “restaurant” (it’s a dining room where every other hotel of this rating serves free breakfast) was reserved for the wedding guests only and would not be available to regular guests, they should have made that clear in the handful of THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW emails I received The person at the front desk also ignored me for a good 10 minutes, without acknowledging my presence, when I had a question about checkout Room was adequate and clean, I’m just annoyed that I did not receive equal treatment as a paying customer We had planned to dine at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast

v jg

My family and I really enjoyed this hotel The rooms were nice, updated, clean We were traveling with a toddler and I left safe in the room and not like something could hurt him or that he might break something

Our only complaint is lack of staffing Not that I’m blaming them We didn’t ask for room service just for a few towels We didn’t encounter any bad employee but a special thank you to Erin up front, Nina in bar/restaurant area she went out of her way to help my family Thank you girl! Esperanza with housing keeping was a kind as could be and hard working If ever in Wilsonville, Oregon would definitely stay again Thanks

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend in Portland celebrating our first marriage anniversary Hotel Lucia gave us such an amazing experience My wife included in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and once we got to our room we realized that we’d been put in their penthouse

Later, we were brought champagne! The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was beautiful with everything we needed Hotel Lucia now holds a special place in our hearts and will be where we stay when we visit Portland in the future!

I’m giving 5 stars because 4 isn’t fair The location is great Yes it’s right off the highway and while in the parking lot traffic is loud—you can barely hear it from the room

The rooms have been renovated While smaller in size they maximize space efficiency and not in a bad way The room felt quite spacious I love using the app to check in—no waiting, texted the desk about a minor repair needed, and checked out without any contact

Theresa L

Stayed for 1 night after landing around midnight Check in was fast and the room was clean They even had a Guest of the Day welcome bag in my room which was thoughtful

Never gotten one before at any of my other Hilton stays lol Breakfast was pretty standard with plenty of options Plus for the crispy bacon and waffle machineThe only 2 things to note were: 1 The bathroom was small so no real counter space 2 There was no real closet to hang clothes Since we were only staying for 1 night, these weren’t deal breakers

Angela Barr

The room we stayed in had incredibly hard beds that gave us terrible back pain We’ve stayed in many, many hotels and expected softer beds for the price Also, we had to pay $50 to let our dog sleep in her own bed on the floor of the room when it is standard most places to charge $20

I could even understand charging a refundable deposit for damage, but an adult dog like ours who doesn’t make messes and came to sleep for 8 hours shouldn’t cost $50 extra On the positive side, it was nice to have warm cookies and water for the kids and the breakfast was decent and had some good options If the beds weren’t so hard I can barely walk today and I didn’t have to pay so much for my dog, I’d probably come back

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedWe had an early flight into Portland and called the hotel when I landed (like they told me to when I called earlier in the week) and they put us in a room that was ready when we arrived at 10am! Super helpful staff Clean and definitely worth the cost

I’ve been to the Monarch a few times now for a yearly convention and I always enjoy myself The rooms and halls are still somewhat dated and older but that never bothers me The pool area has been built up and is great to relax at

Both the indoor and outdoor restaurant is delicious, while the underground themed area is fun and different The staff is always courteous, kind, and easy to get ahold of They do an excellent job of taking care of the convention goers before, during, and after the event Cannot wait to come back next year

Anne Pettus

I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great experience But that was 5 years ago This time was awful

We needed a place to stay while we were selling our house and had our open house The first night, the keys didn’t work to the first room they gave us, so they gave us another room This room was on the first floor and was very dirty The sink had grime all around it, the shower head was falling out, there was black hair in the tub and I’m pretty sure it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time House keeping only comes if you call and request and they do bare minimum, they didn’t even change our sheets even though I had requested that Oh and the whole first floor reeked of pot the whole time We booked three nights and only stayed two Avoid this hotel if staying in the area Go to the Marriott down the road It’s worth the extra money!!

This place was fantastic I like to stay at more independent hotels and we picked this place because of the great reviews I see why the reviews were so great; this hotel pays attention to the details! The complimentary breakfast was incredible with a different menu every day

The hotel room was spacious and even had a leather couch The indoor pool and hot tub were also great They even had cookies every night in the grand lobby which was a nice touch I would highly recommend this place!

Daisy Maya

The grand has a beautiful grand entrance and just steps inside is a large living room area With several small intimate seating areas to sit and visit They have complimentary coffee bar as well

The rooms are spacious and well appointed My room had a king bed, couch and desk Many plug-ins and electronics plug ins too The bathroom was big and nicely done with wall paper and granite counter tops The shower was stand alone and a bit tight fit, but the shower head was a rain one and I loved that I am not much of a bath person The tub was very shallow and average length So if you wanted a soak, I think you would be disappointed For a quick bath with kiddos it would be perfect The bathroom floor tile had pops of fancy pretty tiles to break up the plain tile I loved the pops of color and design In room coffee maker did not use plastic cups, loved that!!!! I try hard to avoid plastic My room also had mini refrigerator and cabinet with drawers, suitcase rack and hair dryer Being so close to the highway was not a problem, well insulated from the noise of the highway Walking distance to Bridgeport Mall and all it has to offer The only down side to my room was the view out the window There was a roof and then a 2 foot strip of surface that had vents and such All the black and green moss and such was not pretty to look at, personally I would definitely stay here again

Ben C

We recently used there meeting room to hold my moms memorial It went off without a hitch Communication with Erica was fantastic

The front desk staff were very accommodating when we needed any extra things as well We were even able to get into the room a day early to set things up and not be rushed the morning of the celebration They were able to reconfigure the room as our rsvp list was over 60 people My mom was there in spirit and I know she would have loved the celebration for her Thank you grand hotel staff

My first hostel hotel experience and it was surprisingly pleasant! The rooftop was beautiful and cold The lobby was comfy and warm The drinks were all amazing

I tried different local wines, had some tea, and grabbed a cup of coffee the morning before my departure It was all short, sweet, and comfortable I’ll be visiting Portland more and hope to get a room there again Definitely 10/10

I would go back and visit Portland just to stay at this hotel! The staff here are beyond incredible Upon arrival I had a lot of anxiety as I was a first time solo traveller and everyone there made me feel so safe Everyone there genuinely cares about you and your safety

The hotel offers an escort system if you feel unsafe at a location and you can even text the staff at anytime which was super helpful I stayed at a single room which meant I had to share a bathroom and I had some reservations about it before visiting but it exceeded all my expectations! The room and bathroom was honestly cleaner than at any hotel I have stayed at The cafe/restaurant in the lobby had amazing food (I had a chocolate chip cookie from there every single day because honestly it was the best) There’s also amazing views from the beautiful rooftop patio I VERY HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Gosh what a unique hostel/hotel I loved staying here They have a big, coed hostel room with comfortable, ship-berthing-inspired bunks

They have privacy curtains which I loved The hotel also has private rooms but I didn’t stay in oneI loved the common cafe area The hours are long and there are always people taking advantage of the spaceThe only thing I can say negatively about this was the location being swamped by homeless people I have compassion for them but there’s a lot of unaddressed mental health issues and it made me feel unsafe leaving at night The doors to the cafe/hotel required being buzzed in or using your room key so that was coolOverall, I would stay here again This is the nicest hostel I’ve been in

Booked a 2 bedroom suite for 2 nights Very much enjoyed the rooms and the responsiveness when I called the front desk for bedding The king bed was nice, but definitely not as comfortable as many hotel beds I’ve stayed in (too firm)

Hot tub was great being inside Biggest complaint is lack of Continental breakfast The hotel gave us two $7 coupons for the restaurant breakfast which still ended up being almost $40 for two modest meals Almost everything seemed cooked well but shockingly bland Like zero flavor The french toast was just plain bad Overall, would definitely stay again but I’d avoid the restaurant

I loved my stay here! The rooms were very clean and comfortable Most rooms have a small balcony that looks right out onto the river There are walking trails next to the river and even a dock to walk on

The staff is amazing The lady that helped me upgraded my room to one with a jet tub for my husband and I The restaurant has very good food When you check in they give you a voucher for 7 dollars towards breakfast Overall it was a great stay and we will be back!

When we got to our room, there was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals We’re sensitive to stuff like that so asked if they could move us and they found us another room with no hassle, no questions The new room was a little smaller but didn’t face Burnside, so quiet and a nicer view

I felt like they really took care of us and were very gracious about doing so It was refreshing to get such nice service and really made our stay fantastic The staff were all friendly and eager to help Really enjoyed our stay

Kathijune Bruyere

Absolutely fun experience for a creative being like myself! We got the Werewolf room and the quote around the room though dizzying to follow is the greatest thing I have seen The art in the room and halls (and I am sure the other rooms as well) gives me a through the looking glass feel The bed is comfortable and clean and the staff/personell are helpful and friendly

Dave Cramton

This place is all about attitude and convenience Tiny rooms and shared bathrooms aren’t for everyone But the rooms are clean, the bathrooms (single occupancy, not dorm style!) are kept clean as well

Provided robes are comfortable and voluminous Typical of McMenamins, everything is funky and stylish Great place to stay if you’re seeing a show just up the block at the Crystal Ballroom Zeus Cafe in the lobby makes a great brunch

Stayed here on Saturday June 4th We came down to Eugene from WA for my best freinds funeral unfortunately It is my birthday weekend so my wife wanted to salvage what she could of it and booked us a room here

When we arrived we were greeted by Morgan with so much warmth and kindness My wife had mentioned it was my birthday and they put out some decorations and a card and upgraded our roomA lot hotel claim to be dog friendly but act put out Not here! We had dog beds and toys sent up and Morgan even came out from behind front desk and greeted our ancient dog personallyEvery other staff member was also extremely kind and helpful I would also like to note that the rose festival was going on and they were extremely busy and still had the best customer service we have received at a hotel in PortlandThank you!

Stayed at the hotel Deluxe for a night with some girlfriends We were able to get early check-in Our room was fantastic

Easy Uber rides to Keller Auditorium where we saw Hamilton After the show, we got back to the hotel and had a drink at the Driftwood, I chose to have the bartender make me a drink of his choiceI’m not a drinker, so when I got my cocktail, it was a surprise how much I enjoyed said cocktail After drinks, we ended up walking a few blocks to the Melting Pot, had a fantastic dinner and was easily able to Uber back to the hotel We woke up the next morning and had breakfast downstairs at Gracie’sgreat staff, delicious food, convenient location, we just took the elevator down We were able to go back to our and relax before our very easy check-outAll in all, such a fabulous stay at a beautiful hotel Great atmosphere The front desk was helpful and inviting Looking forward to booking another girls night when we go to another show at Kellers

I was travelingSo, I called in to reserve a room I was told the price and the time I am supposed to check out

I traveled for 30 minutes in the middle of night to get there to find out it was all lie The price went up, the check out went down Is it a simple misunderstanding? Or a way to take advantage? Such a big hotel and The hotel might be good hotel to stay but in terms of hospitality, might not be the best choice

One of the better Courtyards I’ve stayed at The main lobby was very spacious and had many lounge sofas and the interior was decorated beautifully I was surprised this location didn’t have a pool which I was looking forward to use

The 24hr gym has decent amount of equipments and was well kept I was surprised there was even a bike trail behind the hotel which I made use of The trail cut thru the forest behind the hotel so it was a nice quiet place away from city noise

Wolfgang’s Mom

I am a traveling nurse I started with 4 other nurses I showed up, on a Sunday and was unable to lock in a price for nurses

Was told to speak to the manager J Paul, the next day He offered me $149 a night, or whatever price was on the website, for that day My stay for Sunday was $116, the next next it was $150 Aqua, the check in lady, said it would be lower than $113 for the rest of my stay Another, younger, better looking nurse got a rate of $113, for the same contract, that I am working We are 5 women, that wanted to stay together, but he was not about to help us, as we traveled to his town, to help out his communityThe was no breakfast, for $149, no muffin, no juice My shower didn’t drain My TV turned off, every few hours, to reboot I had a great view, in the back, of the homeless, living in the woods If you want a different view, get a room in the front Stains on the chair and bedspread Housekeeping entered my room, without knockingThey charge high prices, for motel 6 qualityThe other nurse, left the same day as myself We are now at a Hilton property, for much less, with nicer rooms and free breakfastI am letting all my fellow travel nurses know, avoid the Marriott They don’t like nurses

The service was kind, the place was clean, and it slept us all My only reason for 3 stars is that I had booked a king with a separate seating area, shown with a door dividing This is perfect for our family

They seemingly just put us in any room, asking if we had a floor preference, and we ended up in a standard king No privacy for the kiddo, and no reduction in charges
