Very nice hotel overall Comfortable clean room Good size, including safe and refrigerator

Coffee maker and most amenities provided Very nice bathroom with good space One thing to note is that only one drawer was in the room, and the shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner was fixed to the wall of the shower Also the bathtub was large but did not allow for a bath to be taken because the drain stop seemed to be intentionally disabled

Pamela Olesen

I rarely give five stars but as I try to think about what could have been better to get a fifth star, I can’t think of anything criticalRooms are be modern, staff were friendly, atmosphere is great, ❤️ the hydration stations! The only thing I’ve found in the last few Marriotts is a lack of shelf/bench/ledge

anything to make shaving your legs even possible in the shower

I wanted to like this hotel stay more; however, there were a lot of little inconveniences that frustrated me As a frequent traveler I’m used to things being different than what I’m used to, but things like the light switches either seemed to regularly not function, or just be incredibly unintuitive The overhead light in the entryway fell out of it’s housing on my first day staying in my room

The gym was incredibly stuffy (temperature was fine, just zero airflow) Also, everyday the room was cleaned, whoever did the cleaning turned the hand faucet so it pointed out of the shower door at high pressure, so almost every morning I gave the bathroom a nice spritzing of water before I had to turn it back to a position that made sense There were a few other oddities, but again, hotel was mostly just fine other than weird things that kept popping up regularly

It is a charming 1924-style boutique hotel with friendly staff located in a century-old apartment building and lots of old-world charm throughout From clock, safe, and phone booths to the elevator and staircases, you feel like you transponded back in history Rooms are modern and comfortable though

We had a room with a private bathroom, can’t imagine otherwise, but I’ve seen people using a shared bathroom as well At almost $400 per night including tax, it was on the pricey side but if you book in advance, the rates are much lower The hotel is clean and the location next to Palo Alto City Hall is awesome for local experience and for a short walk to the Stanford shuttle The hotel receptionist asked us whether we want a quiet room or a nice view, and we selected quiet, but it was tiny with a weird layout with an entrance from below the staircase So we switched to the one with a view and it was much nicer and not too noisy We qualified for the Stanford affiliate package so we got free breakfast in the Maxine cafe next door, which was very very good, and highly recommended Try their breakfast croissant, you won’t regret itThere are two reasons why I gave it 4 vs 5: 1/ it has no air conditioning so on warm days it is hard to breathe inside the room 2/ we were charged for our stay one day before departure, which is a weird experience I specifically asked when the charge will be made and was told “upon departure”, which was not the case We asked and were told it was a mistake Otherwise, a great place to stay in Palo Alto, I might use it again

Laurens Geffert

In summary, the Cardinal COULD be amazing but I’m sorry to say that it fell short for usLoved the location, I think it’s probably the best place to stay in Palo Alto or Stanford if you don’t want to have to drive everywhere The building is beautiful, especially the lobby

Unfortunately our room had some issues For starters, it was very hot inside and there was no air conditioning Not great for the little one who had a hard time sleeping There was a fridge in the room but it wasn’t working Due to the heat we had to leave the window open, but the sports bar across the street was blasting music until late in the evening, including a 12:00 am “We are the champions” at maximum volume to an almost empty barWhat really knocked down the rating for me though was breakfast It was supposed to happen at an external downstairs brasserie at 8 am (weekends) However, the guy there just seemed to make up opening hours on the spot! 8:30ish, 9:00 Nothing like showing up to get your morning coffee when you’re on East Coast time, only to find out it’s going to be another hour, and for no good reason We spoke to front desk about it and were not offered an alternative or compensationThat said, the staff was otherwise lovely Check-in was fast and efficient and they even gave us an early check-out and refund of one night

Cathy Burroughs

This was one of the most magical places we’ve ever stayed The Cardinal celebrates old world charm with a magnificent gold gilded lobby, high ceilings, chandeliers and one of the most alluring Christmas tree and holiday decorations we’ve ever experienced An amazing value with clean, comfortable rooms, modern elegant hallway bathrooms or en-suite

You will travel back in time in one of Palo Alto’s lesser known historic hotel finds Doesn’t get much better and at an extraordinary value!

Incredible hotel! From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s a special place The ambiance is unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed at The artwork and photography throughout add such charm and celebrates the history and achievements of so many Stanford greats, providing a strong connection to the area

The restaurant and bar within the hotel (both indoors and outdoor) are spectacular! The entire staff are so friendly and make you feel like a part of their extended family from the moment you check-in I felt so welcome and taken care of our entire stay The hotel room was very spacious and I was blown away by the cleanliness! I highly recommend this hotel and will never stay anywhere else when I’m in the area!

I loved this hotel so much From the parking lot to the pool garden every detail was thought out I loved the Modern/Traditional decor mix

We had family come visit us in the bay and they stayed at the Stanford Park HotelFantastic experience all aroundThey were able to fully recharge in a gorgeous restful room after their delayed flight, 3am check in, and all of our bay ventures! The staff and customer service are nothing but excellent

I have stayed at this Hilton location as well as others and for the most part my stays have been comfortable On this trip my room was comfortable but there was a noise problem There was banging and stopping about above me as well as loud person (and TV) adjacent to me

I will have to ask for a quiet area of the hotel if there is a next time staying there Something else of mention, I have stayed at other Hilton Garden locations that offer a free morning buffet but this one is not one of them so if you are looking for that offering you will be disappointed They do have complimentary coffee though I usually opt for Starbucks up the street

Hui Huang

1 There was a gold fish snack piece in the corner of the sofa Gross

2 Requested for room cleaning, was told can only do 1 day after It still wasn’t done 1 day after Requested again and it was done 1 day before leaving (1 week stay)3 I have gold status but I don’t see any benefits There’s food and beverage credits of $10/day Used that on water They offer free water upon day 1 check in but not afterwards Water 500ml is $3/bottle and bigger is $4/bottle I drink a lot Have to buy water from outside4 Breakfast has different options Not free The bakeries stay the same everyday I didn’t like them personallyMost staffs are friendly There’s a small gym as well It has everything needed No walk-in distance to less than $$$ restaurants nor groceries stores Location with a car is very good, not walk-friendlyYe, Contact directly without leaving a contact method Interesting

This is a hidden gem! We booked from out of state and chose this hotel for the ratings and their professional attention to cleanliness The front desk staff was so helpful! My boyfriend had to take a college final for an online course and forgot some sheets and a calculator The front desk helped print what he needs from the business center and let him borrow a calculator for his exam! The room and bathroom were so cute! Only issue was the tv connection quality at night but it was better in the morning

The bed was AMAZING Everything so clean Hope we come to town again so we can stay here! Forgot the names of the front desk staff that helped us but we felt like this was a 5 star hotel with how kind and attentive the staff was!

Maggi Mackintosh

I have stayed here a couple of times Both times the service has been great The location is easy to get to

First time the room was nice and comfortable This time was different Watch out if you get sent down to the first floor, outside set of rooms The corridor was pretty dark (kind of reminded me of horse stalls) and the room was an odd mix, mostly of unrennovated elements and a good bed and linens The wallpaper was dated and coming off the wall in pockets, areas looked worn, and old I usually don’t notice most of these kinds of details But it was just a little shabby and not what I expected for this hotel It was more like a lesser motel in appearance I got to the hotel around 9:30pm Maybe it was the last room available? Or I was a bad girl (not that I know of)? Or that I paid a discounted rate for travel? Or I hadn’t connected the visit to my rewards card? I don’t know what I did to get banished to the outside, slightly intimidating night time, corridor Being exhausted, I went to sleep and left quickly in the morning, despite planning to take two calls from the room in the morning

Lopetii Inukihaangana

It’s dated yes but budget friendly There is parking and additional parking in the back There are rooms that are inside the and rooms that are partially outside but there is stone fencing that if you want to see your car in the parking lot you can do so

Staff is great and if you want high class hotel to match your buying power go for the Four seasons But if decide to stay at the Crowne Plaza with good people It’s near freeways which cradles between Los Altos, Palo Alto, Stanford, Menlo Park ,Mountain view very fun communities with fun things to do Just have an open mind and be adventurous lots of different restaurants and fruit stand down the street I stayed there and also rented the cabana on hot summer days we had a blast

Front desk staff is wonderfully helpful and kind Easy check in and out, and lovely rooms Splurge for the king suite with bath if you can, its worth it!! Hotel is clean, parking is easy

I forgot a blanket in my room while checking out, they were prompt in having someone go up to the room and bring it to me within 2 minutesAs a bay area/San Jose native who comes back to visit now, this has been my favorite hotel stay by far Thanks Juniper!

Daniel Varela

As a regular Hilton customer I have seen usually really great service and care to detailHowever this hotel needs a little help

I’ve always been offered a couple bottles of water beyond my first night I was reminded that water is only available the first day Strike 1 Strike 2 the restaurant downstairs has crumbs on the dinning tables and the coffee saucer doesn’t look like it’s seen a bit of soap The seating outside looks nice I’ve asked if the heater could be turned on, I was responded with “I don’t know” A little bit of extra care can go a long way Sometimes the little things can go a long way

Nice hotel, great location What really makes this special is the person who greeted me at the front desk Her name is Cat and she is AMAZING

I’ve been traveling for several weeks and I came in exhausted My flight was canceled and I’ve been having a busy / stressful day Cat immediately greeted me with a smile and a joke and made me feel relaxed and comfortableAfter my (much deserved) nap, I’m going to try to hit the pool to relaxTHANK YOU CAT!!!

Eric

A mixed stay this trip, but hopefully related to their ongoing renovationsThe Good: very high quality service as expected from a Westin Due to the renovations there was a mix of Westin and Sheraton staff on call, but quality was great all across

The Surprising: housekeeping appears to have switched from expected to on request only When I confirmed with the front desk after several days, they apologized that I wasn’t told when I checked in Not sure if this is a regional (CA is under a major drought warning) or a staffing (due to post-Covid issues) change, but unexpected nonethelessThe Gratifying: The property, in the final stages of its renewal, is lovely on the inside and out, and it’s location near the Palo Alto downtown makes this a great place to stay in the Valley

There is tea and coffee along with a microwave and refrigerator in the room I opted to eat leftovers in the morning There is a complimentary breakfast There is tea and coffee in the lobby In the morning you can hear people rolling suit cases out of the room but that’s not surprising given the setup of the room and air conditioning units It is conveniently located across from a Walgreen’s There is also a Tesla supercharger across the street

We love the pool and the location of this hotel The staff are all super friendly and professional Check in is fast and efficient and the managers are present and helpful

Our room was very clean and the a/c works great which is a big thing for us This hotel is older but it is still the best place to stay You can walk to Stanford Mall and the shops at Town & Country as well as downtown Palo Alto We look forward to our next visit

Karla Mei Robertson

The location can’t be beat, and I’ve got 20 years of positive memories from this hotel The pool is nice and my kids love it (although it’s a bit chilly and I really wish there was a hot tub) The staff is good and the ground are nice- so get a garden view room if possible

The rooms are basic, serviceable But the walls are paper thin So if you have a noisy neighbor you are screwed But I’ll take my chances and will keep coming back

Gordon Burgess

Have kids and want to hear more of them? Enjoy the euphonious roar of an ice machine? This is the place for you! With walls carefully engineered to be as thin as permitted by law and a layout designed to amplify 60-year-old Karen’s shrieking while she pounds tequila poolside at 2am, this is truly the ultimate experience No need to get an adjoining room for Uncle Steve, it won’t save you from his snoring and you won’t be sleeping either wayPros: The location was great, the staff were efficient and friendly, and the room was clean

Check-in/check-out was smoothCons: Noise 🗣️🛏️ Guests were yelling in the pool area until 1-2am for the three nights I was there which could clearly be heard through closed doors, and no staff enforced any kind of quiet hours Other noise from guests in the hallway weren’t stopped by the thin walls and made the whole experience pretty terrible One morning I was woken up at 6am by an employee dragging pool chairs on the concreteI only ended up getting a few hours of sleep a night and it impacted the business trip I was on I would not recommend this experience to others The shouting of guests stays with me in my dreams but I’m lucky to already have tinnitus to drown it out

Excited to stay Nobu Hotel in Palo AltoNice ambiance and unusual rest room with toto vide The lighting system was so modern

However, the service was not great Room cleaning had to be requested at 3 pm after though staff had come earlier but only refilled the mini barThe picture is Japanese Breakfast Bento which looks good and tastes good

J P

We were excited to stay at Nobu as we understood, from their marketing, that it was exceptionally cool, exclusive, and boutique We looked on their site for a nice room and found that the Zen Suite (about $1,200) was available for the night we wanted to stay, which happened to be that same night When we landed we checked again to see if it was available and it was, but since we were only a few minutes away we decided to go right to the hotel and check in rather than reserving online

The two young gentlemen at the front desk (early twenties and very inexperienced, but doing their best) laughed when we asked about the suite and said they were all booked and that Expedia was likely having problems We said we saw it was available, not on Expedia, but on the Nobu Palo Alto site and we pulled it up in front of them Anyway, don’t trust their site for booking, you’d have to call to be certain before putting in your card info to make sure you aren’t booking a room that doesn’t exist inside the cancellation time Then it just got stupid they only had rooms with two queen beds (which by the way they are not queen beds – they are doubles which are really small) Since we were already there and tired we decided to take the two queen room Got to our room and a large panel fell off the wall when my wife opened the safe The paneling isn’t aligned and opening the safe cabinet door was enough to dislodged a 3 by 4 foot heavy panel from the wall which then fell on her We switched rooms The next room had a lovely thick black hair in the sink, maybe a dark sushi noodle, not sure It was end of day so we decided whatever we came up against we would stay The beds are not queen beds, but I mentioned that already Rooms are small TV is enormous and really great, but very limited channels but still – it’s a great TV Shower was ok but no hand held and they have a “Japanese” style wood floor in the shower which serves only an aesthetic purpose, and maybe to hide hair underneath, but damn it hurts the feet Bathroom is very tiny The toilet was unbelievably great and the showcase of the room, along with the TV The toilet is fully automated with remote control, heated seat, squirty things etc Basically you are renting a toilet and TV with some surrounding furniture No electrical outlets next to beds – just USB ports which is fine but not if you have new iPhone etc Carpets are stained, mostly because of the color selection we think which shows an archaeological history of prior guest shenanigans There is only one elevator which gets tedious The common areas of the hotel are sort of finished but not really There is an odd second floor patio that is 8 feet wide with some furniture facing a wall Nobody was out there There are surely other spots to stay that would be a better value and still very nice We couldn’t help but think Nobu is more of a marketing and food services company than a hotel company We give three stars which we think is fair for a three star hotel

T W

The highest level of service ever received! The hotel is simple and refined The best concierge I have ever interacted with! From toiletries to arranging sightseeing/recommendations (everyone from valet) {so personable!}Excellent hotel for business and pleasure 5-star hotel without a stuffy Four Seasons/Ritz approach

Room service is top notch Front desk was super responsive when I needed more shampoo/conditioner/Nespresso podsWe stayed in a Ryokan room which I can not emphasize just how incredible and serene the room feels We were granted early checkin as soon as we landed from SFO at 11amI booked this not expecting much, but the small touches and personalized attention is what sets Nobu apart from anyone elseThe 82 inch tv is magical as is the heated toilet seat, you’re welcome!

EVERYONE is nice Upon walking in we knew we’d love it for our stay The rooms are very nice and impeccably clean Felt so comfortable Roomy rooms and beds are so comfortable Now moving along to breakfast LOVED the idea of them serving us It was set up with class They handled the food with gloves No slop from visitors Very clean The refrigerator was a great idea it had sealed fruit, yogurt, and milk which was self served Cereal was served by personnel which was boxed not in those funky turning thing The did have out a pancake machine with a touch only of a button They came out of bottom All you needed to do was place a plate underneath it Overall, I have absolutely not one complaint Elizabeth was a very nice and informative woman Need anything you just call 5 star for me people and I’m tuff Referring to Overall experience Thanks Maple Tree Inn

This is place is a gem It was so clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful I loved the jacuzzi and pool, my daughter and I practically lived there during our stay

Super quiet location, but not far from restaurants, and grocery stores About 15 mins away from Great America, and an hour from Sant Cruz Beach boardwalk Not to mention a decent free breakfast, normally bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurts, fruits ,pastries, with coffee and juices Definitely booking again

Zoe Field

gave us the wrong room at check in, was combative about changing it (despite having paid for two beds, was given one) and refused to give us any more than three towels as three women The pool had no towels at all (hence why we needed more towels, also have you ever tried to shower with one hotel towel that isn’t full sized with long hair?) They kept repeating that they told me I need to leave my dirty towels outside of the room before noon to get clean ones, I don’t need clean ones, I need MORE TOWELS

Not only did they respond defensively, but completely refused to give us any extra towels at allThe breakfast was cold, you don’t get turndown service daily, and the facilities are so-so really disappointing two night stay for over $400 I recommend staying somewhere nicer for more money if you’re already willing to shell out this amount for this place

I had room 106 by the outside patio and I could hear everyone The AC in the room was loud too A good quality hotel have quiet rooms, this is not it

The hotel is well renovated but on a poor foundation (thin walls…) Felt overpricedMy bathroom was not like the picture tooOn a positive side, the staff was friendly and the outside patio was great

The Nest is a modernized hotel that captures the idea of a luxury like hotel, but in a more casual manner I’ll go over my specific details with pros and consPros:-Outdoor fireplace amenities, making the stay more cozy and relaxing-Clean yet small workout room-55 Inch LG TV with Apple TV included-Sliding barn door, separating the bedroom and bathroom

-This is a big one; complementary parkingCons:-Location in Palo Alto is lackluster and may seem sketch to those unfamiliar with Palo Alto-No food cuisines to offer on site-No microwave or refrigerator, which I found rather odd-Thin walls so hopefully you don’t luck out with noisy neighbors during the nightOverall, I’d recommend if you can get a deal for this hotel by a third party, it’s worth giving the hotel a chance Paying regular price can be pricey, and nearby options could accommodate more for what your paying for May return in the future

This quality of construction is rarely seen outside of rural Thailand You can hear your alcoholic neighbor snoring If someone is walking anywhere in the hotel, you can hear or feel the steps

There’s no place to put your luggage except on the floor Really really low quality Pay interstate motel prices or find a different placeNice staff, convenient area

Kind of surprised at the quality of this hotel for the price Stayed for a friend’s wedding but would not stay again Area rug and bathroom sink were dirty in our room, there were cracks in the floor of the shower, and couldn’t even get staff to answer basic housekeeping calls

The most frustrating moment was asking for washcloths and receiving bath mats, hand towels, and then moist towelettes, in that order Despite staff being friendly, they seem poorly trained

This is a newer hotel with modern design It’s located right next to a big shopping mall, many convenience stores, supermarket, restaurants The hotel is kid friendly and it has a long swimming pool if you want to do lap swim

That is a rare amenity Oh, it’s half outdoor with half shade but it is heated !! The staff is nice and very responsive to our request Room is clean with a great view of the mountain and a cute dog park

Katz

Wonderful experience staying here while house hunting after a cross country move Every person that I interacted with on staff was warm and kind They helped me with a number of unusual requests without hesitation and I felt very supported with the special needs of the stay

The food at the restaurant was super delicious and had something for everyone but featured really fresh ingredients and outstanding flavors Pro tip – request a room with a core of the dog park- delightful Highly recommend!

I really don’t ever leave reviews, but this hotel was fantastic It was very clean, the rooms had very nice views, and the surrounding area has a lot of food options The staff and management also went above and beyond to make my stay great

I was (to my bad fortune) working nights while on business travel, and was having a hard time sleeping during the day with the sound of footsteps above me Not their fault at all, people move around during the day, just my bad luck The front desk allowed me to move to a top floor room no problem and I slept like a baby I also found the HVAC units to be very quiet The staff was kind and the restaurant staff was so kind as well, as was the bartender There was a small mix up with one of my call in orders (no problem, humans make mistakes, and I called close to kitchen close time) The bartender was kind enough to give me a drink on the house, and my food was brought to my room I totally understand mistakes happen, so it wasn’t necessary, but it really shows how much the staff here cares about their guests If I’m out for work travel again I will certainly be staying here

Stayed here a week ago! The hotel has great facilities like a swimming pool and a well stocked gym Staff are friendly and inviting! Room service is very quick and anything we requested through the app was brought hastily The food is really good as you’d expect from the Four Seasons

Room was nice and spacious and the beds were great! The sound proofing is amazing; we’re very light sleepers and we did not hear any noise at all An overall great stay!

Emily Williams

I’ve traveled to the Bay Area for work dozens of times, and this was my first time staying at the Four Seasons It definitely won’t be my last!I absolutely loved everything about my stay The bed was heavenly (planning to buy the linens for my own home!), the room was spacious and bright, and the room service was outstanding

I worked late every evening so ended up eating in my room way more often than anticipated and couldn’t have been more pleased Huge kudos to the housekeeping staff for a lovely stay Can’t wait to come back!

Mike Lombardi

Excellent hotel as you’d expect Rate was actually very good through corporate travel site so this was my first time visiting – normally very costly compared to other properties in the area On site restaurant is very good, staff is attentive and the room was excellent

Fitness center was easy to use and had enough equipment for everyone between 8a and 9a on a Tues and Thurs morning Parking is valet or self-park (no fees but get an overnight parking pass from the valet to put on your dash) Would stay again and again as long as the price stays right

Wow this place is a hidden gem Charming, friending, clean, quiet, comfortable We normally stay at a mid-range Marriott when visiting Palo Alto with the family, like the Courtyard

But this is our new place It has beautiful little garden seating areas tucked around the property, rooms are very clean, and staff couldn’t be more accommodating I never noticed it in all the years I lived here because it’s kind of hidden from the street But it’s definitely worth discovering

James

1950’s style motor inn that hasn’t been updated or maintained since then Exterior paint peeling off the facias and walls Wifi didn’t work

Asked for a lamp that didn’t work to be fixed and the guy never came Kitchen cabinets were rusted out Mold in the shower Staying here to save some money but will not come back Stayed on the 2nd floor and no elevator I will say one of the staff did help carry our luggage up the stairs The bathroom and kitchen sinks were clean but that’s about the only positive
