From the beginning we questioned staying But the kids were excited by the slide and pool and we were all exhausted We requested a suite as we had a large group and the first thing the lady said was “are you sure you really want a suit?” Then explained the cost of it

She said it was just to be sure we really wanted it She was a bit rude but we took it we maybe just to tired for attitude being in the car all dayIf you have allergies especially with dust and mold I do not recommend staying here There is so much dust they moved us from the first room cause of bugs The second room blood stains on the mattress pad Stains on blankets got new blankets and an apology There is so much dust covering everything you wonder if they ever really clean The pool is disgusting smells so bad and the second day it wasn’t even operational due to the smell They told us at 10 they would let us know when they cleaned it They never did my oldest went down around 4 and ran into management who claimed he had no idea and we could go across the street So they sent us over across the street to the neighboring hotel for the kids to swimThe mattress on the couch was barely even usable honestly needed to be thrown away it was torn all down the side Breakfast was terrible sour waffles , dried eggs, sausage that was so Chewy it was disgusting The downstairs in the hall has this wet mold smell Then you can see mold in the peeling wallsNow the good thing the staff tried to help us we had a group in a suit They were very nice in handle the kids She expressed she wished there was more she could do Unfortunately we will not be going back to this hotel will not be recommending it cause even though the front staff in the evening was kind it does not effect the state of the hotel Unfortunately money wasted staying there

The rooms and service were good, however, when I arrived in the room I noticed the toilet had poop marks in the toilet This means either the toilet wasn’t cleaned between patrons or the housekeeping used it Also, there was less than a roll of toilet paper no other rolls left in the bathroom and only one soap

A couple other small things, it would be a good idea if the room had updated guides for TV channels and instructions on how to use the shower The milk for breakfast was sour, both 2% & whole, I brought this to the attention of the kitchen helper and she corrected it

Marilyn Merle

Sheets felt wet and looked old The sink dripped and this splashed on the floor The AC was cold upon cold! Took a long time for the room to warm to a comfortable cool

Noticed trash in the ice bucket Coffee selections in room were decaf Not my favorite and I am a regular customer of these hotels so recognized the disparity from other experiences

First our room was cool, despite the portable air conditioner sitting in the bedroom and could have been a tripping hazard We noticed our room was 1of 2 with this kind of unit being vented out the window Second when we got ready to use the hot tub, it didn’t work

When I asked the desk, I was told it was out of order and they probably should get a sign up Then after I showered I looked all over the room for a hair dryer, nothing So I tried to call front desk, and the phone didn’t work So I got dressed and went to front desk I was told they were in the process of replacing the hair dryers I asked if they had one I could take up to the room and was told no The motel wasn’t full, but no offer to get one from another room Finally when we went down to eat, I thought a bagel might be good When I started cutting it, the guy next to me who had just tried fixing a bagel told me good luck that I might need a chainsaw Threw it away, went for eggs, they were cold Ugh! Definitely not a good stay

Hotel was very dirty- bathroom had hair all over it The room did It appear to have been cleaned in some time

Rooms are out dated and not maintained Bed was overly firm We were traveling with other families and they had ants in their room Hotel staff sprayed but did not offer another room or to compensate them Breakfast was not good Entire hotel needs a good scrub down and remodel Only plus is it’s proximity to things Would not recommend

Erica Sharp

They were short staffed on our weekend stay We paid for the highest room for a couples getaway and our floors were not well cleaned, the remote for the TV didn’t work, the bed and pillows felt so hard and lumpy and the front desk couldn’t be inconvenienced for anything I can appreciate the low staff causing stress, but rudeness when we call and make a request is not acceptable

Won’t be going back and not worth what we paid It’s a bummer because the jacuzzi suite has great potential

This summer I was an intern for a company in the area and had relocated from Texas, I settled on staying here since all Airbnb’s were booked and the apartments were too expensive for me However, this extended stay seemed equally as expensive as renting I was paying almost $600 a week Here’s why I rated this location so low:1

The Billing was inconsistent, instead of notifying me when I was due again, they would let the charges rack up until I was 3-4 days behind and had called to complain about something I had no issue paying but it seemed I would be getting every 4 days instead of every 7 I expressed multiple times that I didn’t understand how I was behind especially when I would pay a larger amount each time I paid so I was under the assumption that I was getting caught up but no 2 I received NO housekeeping! My stay is almost 3 months long and not once did I come back to my bed being made, new/fresh towels, or anything I always had to go to the front desk to pick up new towels even though I was placing my old ones in the hall for housekeeping to know I needed new ones The manager apparently said they tried to stop by but I needed to clean my room for them to do their job is that not the point of housekeeping??? I was gone for about 4 days one week and had tidied up the room and set my old sheets outside just to come back and still NO NEW BEDDING it is ridiculousI’ve also been double charged because one of the employees didn’t charge me the right amount This stay has been painful, if you’re staying longer than a week I would say to find somewhere else it may cost a little more but I’m sure the service would be better

James Sublett

Didn’t stay here, and never will I call their local number to ask a question about their facility, but I got someone overseas, that couldn’t answer any of my questions They connect me to someone at the hotel, and when I ask why I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes just to get someone overseas that couldn’t answer my questions, the guy didn’t even try to answer me

I wasn’t rude I asked a legitimate question, and got hung up on I called at 10:30 CST in Monday June 6th, 2022 Hopefully that tells the hotel who their bad apple is I for real asked 3 questions, with no attitude, and the man said something that I couldn’t understand, in a frustrated tone, and hung up on me After being on hold for 15 minutes, I didn’t get 10 seconds from this guy

Breaonica Blackwell

I am so disappointed in this location! First we can not check in til four after making a reservation The pool is outside has every species of bug is floating in it My room has used eyelashes stuck to the trash can and shopping bags behind dressers with lots of hair in the tub

The front desk lady is a ceiling watcher, when I asked her who the housekeeping manager was she stared blankly into the sky No breakfast and a 20oz beverage is $ 425 & cashless because they have no change onsite The rooms are non smoking however I smell smoke and theres a tailgate party in the parking lot @ 11pm very loud and frustrating I am on vacation and will never be back at $186 a night I would rather take my family to a rest stop!!!!

Front desk staff was friendly enough Breakfast and a pool offered (I didn’t end up using either) but the room itself sucked The fridge in the room did not keep items cold, and the condenser in the fridge leaked water onto the floor

The room had a mildew smell The AC unit was loud enough that my partner was unable to sleep Our room had a king bed, and the pillows offered are smaller sized, almost throw pillows, and not large enough for the bed provided The shower did not have a water resistant inner curtain, so all of the shower water soaked the curtain and pooled onto the floor The smoke detector (I believe? Maybe C02) needed a new battery that caused a flash in the room The TV in the room had weird lighting issues going on where I could see bulbs behind the screen Also, for two people in a room, only three bath towels were provided That did not leave anything to put on the bathroom floor to try and dry up the water (I need one for my body and one for my hair, my partner used one for his body)We ended up leaving a night early to avoid these issues for a second night I brought these issues up to front desk staff hoping for a full/partial refund for the second night, and the staff member listened to my complaints but didn’t offer anything for the poor room condition/experienceAlso, hotel is close to an industrial district so loud trucks move material nearby The sound is loud and travels into the room

Will never stay at another Best Western or Wyndham hotel again I made a booking error and asked about getting it corrected I was polite, never raised my voice, never demanded anything

The GM Pam was immediately rude, short with me, called me a jerk, said I was blackmailing her, and hung up on me I just wanted simple change made They’re keeping my money and refusing to help If you ever need something from this hotel they’re likely incapable of helping you After how I was spoken to by the GM and Best Westerns refusal to do anything they have lost my business forever I hope it was worth the $100

electric buzzard

I hate to give such a low review to a Plus location, but this hotel really felt like a standard BW with a few half-baked cosmetic tweaks That would have given it four stars

however, for some reason, my room was very humid and literally felt “wet” at times I’d leave my baseball cap on the table and it would be legitimately wet in the AM My towels didn’t really dry when hanging in the bathroom eitherOverall, the bed and my sleep was good, and the AC worked like a champ – I like my hotels cold, and that did the trick The staff was friendly, tooI hate to say it but due to the very average rooms that manifest themselves as nicer than they are, I won’t return here when I am in Olathe

I just can’t say enough about our stay Driving my 84 yo father across country as a gift and he was ready to stop Melissa answered my call and booked my room

Friendly and courteous describes the people who work here I hate I don’t have all the names of those I spoke to but I do have Melissa and Edison The lady who prepared the breakfast and even a housekeeper, and BTW our room was very, very clean This Fairfield Inn was by far the best one I’ve stayed at I of course am not saying it’s a 5 star hotel but we definitely received 5 star service TY

Beverly Hastings

Hotel was clean and staff friendly What I’m not happy about is after we checked in, we had an immediate $5054 extra charge on our account for “incidentals” which they say will drop off our credit card in 10 days or so

That is crazy!! Then after returning home, we get another $694 charge billed from them We bought some items from their snack bar but paid cash We are 50’s/60’s in age, left our hotel room clean and without any damage, didn’t take anything, but sill keep getting charged for who knows what I called and she had me leave a voicemail for the asst manager We will see what happens from there

Justin Johnson

Pros: Staff is amazing, Beds are comfy Within short walking distance of multiple restruantsCons: shower pressure not great and breakfast is basically eggs and cereal, they do have some kind of microwave burrito

No bacon or sausage Worst coffee ever tasted Also under mattress is very dirty there was ear plugs and condom wrapper under mine

We’ve stayed here before with no issues This time we encountered the following1 When making reservations we were not asked if we wanted an email confirmation

I called the next day to get one and was told, “I’m busy I’ll send it later” It never got sent Called again I was told “I just sent it,” but he didn’t ask if I received it which I did not Called back the next day (third time) and once again asked for email confirmation and she sent it right then and asked if I’d received it I had it in my in box within 30 seconds2 Room had ants in the bathroom3 The toilet tank had a drip which kept my husband awake all night4 The bathtub drained really slow5 Upon checkout we reported the problems listed in #2-4 and the staff member stared at me as I was telling her the issues She smiled and said we’ll take care of it but never wrote anything down or typed anything in the computer just helped the next person in line after us My husband and I looked at each other and said, “Well that won’t get taken care of”The good:1 Easy check-in/check-out2 Clean room other than the ants3 Good breakfast as far as free hotel breakfasts go4 Comfortable bed

I went to a corporate meet and greet at this location and have to say that it is by far one of the nicest hotels in the area The rooms are bright, clean, and the beds look super comfy I met most of the staff and would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of a room for the night in the Lenexa area

Stop by and see for yourself!

Michael mosler

The check-in was a disaster, Rubi, who works the front desk, is an insensitive unemotional mannequin of a human We had made specific plans to check-in and she was unwilling to work with us and forced us to charge our card over $400 when our room was already paid for and put on a different card The rooms are decent and clean

You get a small microwave and small fridge The AC gets pretty cold (we stayed in August and weather was hot out) bathroom was just OK Tub was average at best, water pressure fine nothing to write home about This is about what you get for $200 a night these days

Glynn Hensley

Room was ok Shower was terrible no pressure and valve to send water to shower head didn’t work correctly One of the mattresses had a giant hole in the center of it

Staff was very lazy snide and unaccomadating They were unable to take care of anything They wanted us to pack up and move to a neighboring hotel so they didn’t have to do anything Breakfast was always late and couldn’t keep things stocked Please do not waste your money at this hotel

New facility, clean in every way, but

the beds were so hard I could not sleep My husband likes a firm bed so he liked it I love the idea of having shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser in the shower but they did not check them and we ran out after 2 showers (5 people staying for 2 nights) There was plenty of room for all our luggage I liked the sliding door between entry and beds, it allowed privacy for changing Staff was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was good, you had to microwave the items you wanted so they weren’t hot and ready to eat Pancake maker was a big hit with the kids!

George

New hotel on the outskirts of town Nice facilities with good ambiance Selection of breakfast wasn’t the greatest even though there was some minor rotation of items during my 3-night stay

Bed was a bit soft and somehow the room felt damp despite the drying effects of the AC Despite minor imperfections, the hotel was a comfortable space to relax in, and the price point of around $140 a night made it easily the best overall option

Fun had by all Staff is so polite Kids have such a great time when we go

Water Park is amazing Food was better than I thought it would be Very clean and well managed Not a negative thing to say Your wristband is your room key and you can also swipe it anywhere inside to pay for things by charging it to your room I always love that I don’t have to bring my wallet down to the water area and have to worry about it all day

Anthony Jessica Pontarolo

Very fun for the kids, but be prepared to spend an arm and a leg and not sleep well If we return I’ll bring a sound machine with us I honestly cannot describe the noise from upstairs, I think they were jumping on the bed and then onto the floor, and it lasted until about midnight

Yikes! But the facilities were very clean, staff was SUPER friendly and helpful, and we could’ve stayed for about three days & nights to really have experienced everything they have to offer Kids loved the experience, food and drinks were tasty, and everyone was so kind

Ryan

The water park was fun and water was warm enoughBut if you are going for the magic stuff then best to go with the idea that you can only do it at certain times and that you will have issues with the technology of it While we were there on spring break, a busy time for them

We were told the magic is only open at certain times to keep the kids out of the halls But at the same time they have a yoga session happening in main entrance well stupid but sure why not Then we asked then when it would turn on? Was told 9:00 am Was not the case, talked to manager with no helpful advice other then to just wait till it happens to be turned on, (it was not turned on by 9:20) we explained that we were not happy with the fact of trying to keep kids busy while the rest of the 3 rooms we had pack up to leave and the offer to fix it was to return the wands if we didn’t want them We decided to try and just wait for them to turn on and when they did they had computer issues so the system would have you start a quest then get 1-2 parts and then tell you that you are not on a quest We did end up finishing the quests in the end but overall didn’t feel like it was user friendly or that the people running it cared about it at allI very much do not like to leave reviews like this however had I known this in the first place I would have gone to the great wolf lodge again in Wisconsin Dells that is much bigger, better ran, and more to do in the area So sorry KC but won’t be back

Unfortunately I had to leave 1 star

but it doesn’t deserve that This hotel is VERY outdated There is an odor upon entering and throughout the halls There are stains on the chair in the room, and the room felt very moist/wet The toilet wasn’t clean, and there is rust in the shower/bathtub This is the worst Hampton Inn that I have ever visitedand will definitely be the last The staff however, was nice

priceless Dealing with the Manager (Brett Anderson) not worth it Water leaks abound in this hotel and Management “Will enter your room without notice” per Brett, no matter what Hotel clerks were helpful, no issuesvery attentivetoo bad their Manager can’t represent them a little better He was very rude both times we had encounters with him and extremely unhelpful Hampton Inn would be better served with a new Manager in placeASAP His bad days WILL effect your peaceful stay Travelers beware😞😠😡

This was an excellent place to stay Most places lately are a let down with customer service, but I am happy to say that is not the case for this staff! They checked all of the great customer service boxes, from the front desk staff to the wait staff in the dining room! Then there was the amazing breakfast they offer in the morning It was quite a spread and omelettes made to order as well

Again this was an excellent pick!

By far, the Worst Embassy Suites we’ve been to and we’ve stayed at many all over the country Even the ES in Overland Park that is so much older is run better than this one For any sports teams visiting KC for tournaments, STAY AWAY from this

The hotel only cares about rooms sales and they do not care or welcome their guests 1 There’s no coffee after 9:30AM There’s no coffee shop or cold drink, tea or smoothie place at the hotel at all Never seen such an empty bare hotel Guests have to drive a distance to get a drink Even Hilton Garden Inn has cold iced water, tea and coffee pots placed throughout the day in the lobby Here – nothing 2 All hotels typically when they have guests and busy weekend accommodate with food and drink service There are at least 100 rooms taken during this weekend for softball tournament just from our club Parents and kids eating at the restaurant last night, watching Stanley Cup playoff game The restaurant is full, people ordering food and drinks from 5pm, tens of thousands of dollars to be made in revenue this weekend The lady working at the hotel restaurant literally turns off the TV at 10pm and basically tells everyone to leave because they’re closed People are still eating their food and having their drinks, she hands them the bills and demands they pay immediately because they’re closed Never seen anything like this All the hotels we’ve stayed at, accommodate their busy weekends of guests by staying hour or so to wrap it up 3 The rooms are very small, no room for luggage, the drawers are so small, can only fit Barbie clothes The plumbing is terrible with sinks not draining, water pressure so low that cannot even wash your hands STAY AWAY from ES Olathe!! Take your money elsewhere! There are tons of hotels in the area esp Overland Park that know how to operate and accommodate busy weekends of full capacity and treat guests with good customer service

Overall disappointing Front desk staff was not overly friendly and did not inform me that there would be no daily housekeeping The room I was put in had a very overwhelming musty smell that did not dissipate after running the AC

The room and overall facility are very dated The outlets next to the beds were so loose it had a hard time holding my charger The mattresses were sunken in and obviously very old There was hair in the shower, and mold spores on the bathroom ceiling There was a thermostat on the wall in the bedroom however it was non-functional… you had to adjust the temperature at the window unit itself Not a big deal but it just shows how lazy they are they couldn’t remove and patch the hole on the wall where the thermostat was So they just disconnected it and left it there The nicest person in the entire hotel over the course of my stay was the Lady who made the breakfast Every morning she went out of her way to say good morning to every single person who came in Give this woman a raise! The front desk staff need to take a customer service lesson from her! The breakfast met expectations with a good variety for this type of hotel Overall very disappointing in my stay I will not be back

Deb Loiselle

Definitely a nice hotel and what I expect when visiting a Hilton property People are friendly, beds & pillows are comfortable, it’s clean, and offers a nice breakfast My only suggestion for improvement is to do better maintenance on A

C unit The one in our room was noisy and we couldn’t use it if we wanted a decent night’s sleep Thankfully we could open the window for air circulation It’s too bad there’s not a gas/convenience store nearby

fatima lynn

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful breakfast was fulfilling and plenty for my family the beds were completely clean and comfortable The tvs in the rooms were clear and lots of great channels kid friendly the lobby and hallways smelled clean of some sent that my husband asked for the name so we can have it in our home Overall stay was great we will be back for another visit

We also enjoyed the close distance to mall and stadium

I wish I could give this place more stars, but the breakfast was underwhelming They’re still serving COVID-style grab n-go sandwiches and cereal foods, when a DC restaurant I just stayed at is a fully open buffet style The milk was frozen, and options limited

The rooms were very very nice and I would still recommend staying here

Hotel is nice enough, but getting here right now is a pain The exist off the higheay is closed, so you have to go down one more and come back up through a street with like 6 roundaboutsLobby is nice, reception was okay

Will update after breakfast tomorrowWeird stain/dirt on couchI think a 4-star review is adequate, but pushing lower

NOT A REAL HYATT! Nice staff but the hotel needs some serious updating 1st room they sent us to was not even cleaned yet, no towels or soap & disgusting green tinge on bathroom door handle Not worth your money!! & yeah I totally agree with any other negative reviews about this place! I understand it’s hard to find workers these days but then just say your full

Felt sorry for the one maid that was there at 10pm still cleaning rooms!! My one star is generous

Kathryn Edward

I would give it 0 stars if I could No one was at the front desk for a solid 20 minutes, and when someone finally came they proceeded to ignore me and take the phone call that had been ringing for 5-10 minutes Fine, I checked into my room and it was great looking, but there were crumbs all over the couch, some random guy’s shoes still there, and there were *blood* stains on the bed… I was disgusted so I moved to the couch bed

That was even worse It smelled of urine I slept the night in the bed and was starving the next morning I went down for breakfast and it was DISGUSTING There was a white foam over the eggs and the tortillas were molding together The “oatmeal” was oats in cold water in a cooking pot I’ve been with hyatt for a long time and never have I ever seen something this appalling Do not stay here

HORRIBLE Experience!! We booked two rooms The first one was right next to the pool The entire night we could smell weed so noone was bothering to check anything outside

The other room when we checked in was HORRIBLY Hot The thermostat was broken and was reading 78 degrees We were able to get the AC unit to turn on but it was either a meat locker at 62 degrees or a sauna at 78 degrees I will give the staff some credit as they did try to fix it by giving us a different room, but when we walked into that one it had a horrible smell of sewer gas so we decided to just give the hot/cold room a try for the night When we woke up the next morning, there was NO hot water Overall i would say this was a VERY BAD experience and we have stayed at this location several times in the past I highly doubt we will come back after this experience

Best staff ever!! Rooms were comfortable, they even had a comfy roll out that we used with everything in the cabinet Huge bathroom, set up for three people, enough towels and tea tree shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower The shower head had different settings

The only con for our room was it needed and extra mirror

We stayed 2 nights and recieved no maid service while we were there You have to stay 3 nights or longer forFresh towels, trash removal or clean sheets! I asked for clean towels at the desk, he seemed put out to even get up

There were hockey teams that could not keep quiet Kids running everywhere I wish the hotel could put adults that want quiet in one area We won’t be back

Conveniently located next to 435 and Shawnee-Mission, after a week of vacationing with the kids my wife and I were excited to have a weekend getaway in Shawnee Unfortunately this hotel was really lacking compared to other Marriotts I’ve visitedWe got a couple’s suite just down the hall from the front desk

The bar was not operational, which was not made known when booking the stay The breakfast was subpar as well, not offering what was advertised online Their reasoning was covid which seemed to be an easy scapegoat After ordering our drinks, we watched as a couple other customers walked up, ordered, got their beverages, and then left Finally realized they were just not making our order so I had to go ask where our drinks were and they said they forgot themOnly one jet in the room’s jacuzzi was operationalThe front desk does sell individual beer and one of the beers they sell is locally made in KCMO I wish I would have taken a picture because it was delicious and I would totally give them a shoutoutI’ve had some amazing experiences at Marriott hotels, this just wasn’t one of them

My husband, children, and I stayed here while enjoying a weekend getaway We checked in late Thursday night While going through our bedtime routine with our kids I noticed that the shower was not working well at all

When the tab was pulled the water continue to come out of the bottom tap and so there was almost no water pressure at the shower head I noticed that the tile around the water spicket was cracked as were our mirror sliding doors The room itself was clean The bedding had some piling, but nothing smelled bad and there was no dust There was not a blanket for the pull-out couch bed and we only were given three towels, but that was quickly rectified with a trip downstairs We slept well The blackout curtains work great and there was very minimal noise for being so close to a train track The next morning I mentioned the issue with the shower and they told me they put it in for maintenance and to just leave the “Do not Disturb” off the door and it would be repaired The breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about, the usual waffles, eggs, a breakfast meat-type fair The people running it however were quite lovely The Friday we came back from our activities and the shower still had not been repaired In addition, I noticed one of the light bulbs was out in the bathroom causing a strobe-like effect when it was turned on We went down to the pool and enjoyed swimming for a while The hot tub is not available for use right now The pool is great for kids We got the kids cleaned off and ready for bed and went about our nighttime routine That Saturday I made sure to go back to the front desk and tell them again that the shower was still not working and also the light was out and could they please ask the cleaners to go through the room My children had gotten some crackers on the floor around the bed and I was not able to clean them up completely When we got back on Saturday they had repaired the shower partially It was definitely much more functional The light bulb was still out And while they had made our bed the crackers or still on the ground Sunday morning we checked out The people working were nice and professional The location was ideal for getting around different places in Kansas City The hotel definitely needs to be updated when it comes to repairing some of the things that are broken rather than just patching them

Janet

From check-in to check-out we had a great stay Our room wasn’t fancy, but it was clean and comfortable We both slept well

Breakfast was fresh and proper temperature The lady stocking the breakfast area was very helpful when I had allergen questions about the prepared food Future trips to KC, this will be my first choice for hotels

Jody McLaughlin

The people were very nice The location was fantastic to get to chemo The room itself was a little past its prime

There were black spots on the ceiling and I could not close the drapes because of the heater location The room itself was extremely cleanI did not hear any trains running overnight The breakfast was good and the attendent was very helpful
