Had a wonderful stay here My room (executive king with daybed) was up to date, clean, and comfortable There was a great view, and a useful shade system to filter or block the sun

Room layout was spacious and convenient for work, and the bathroom had plenty of counter space There’s a lovely courtyard where you can sit outside with a fire pit at night There are also nice indoor common areas 10-15 min walk from great restaurants and Old Pasadena Will definitely stay again

Kirk Robinson

Stayed for a weekend, it was a decent experienceHad a couple rooms booked, so the connecting room was great Beds comfortable, mini fridge was useful for storing stuff

Rooftop pool was alright not very deep and felt surrounded by concrete so not really much ambiance That said, the kids had a great time cooling off and if you can snag one of the cabana style areas all the better Gym was pretty nice here too a couple Peloton bikes too 🚲I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here, but it was a decent stay

David Adams

We really enjoyed our stay However, there were a couple of issues The restroom has no exhaust fan, and the AC won’t cool below 76 degrees

Even when the thermostat is set lower it clicks off well above the set temperature The windows are also thin and you can hear people talking on the street even 8 floors upThat said, the staff was very friendly, the location beautiful, and the pool and gym were excellent

This place has gone downhill in just 2 years Updated on May 1st 20221

The room I was given was on the 4th floor after asking the clerk Originally it was 2nd or 3rd with loud neighbors just a good guess since this property fits that standard2 The room smells very old3 I think they actually remodeled one room to the newer style Holiday Inns (that they actually use in pictures) My room is very old compared to rooms at other Holiday InnsThese rooms are very dark from 2000-20064 WARNING! EXTREMELY HIGH DEPOSITS HEREA This motel authorizes $15000 to your credit/or debit card here above the price of the room, and taxB The authorization will take 10 business days to be removed *Check your account to be sure the property doesn’t post the charge to your account rather than release it after 10 long business daysC The average Holiday Inn authorizes anywhere from $1000 per night, to $3000 per night Anything above $5000 is outrageous for a motel chain Holiday Inn is a motel chainThis is unfair to the leisure, or business travelerI would not recommend this property unless you get a very cheap price under $7500 The property again is very old, the hallways are old, the carpets are old, and the rooms smellI never can understand how a Holiday Inn justifies authorization to a guests credit/or debit card for $150 when this is a motel, not a hotel that has room serviceStay somewhere else I will never stay here againI happened to be unable to cancel my stay due to using points to stay hereAlways call the motel in advance to verify the depositIt’s funny, the more I travel for work, the worse the Holiday Inn’s get From noise, fights, weed, loud parties, and homeless people It’s very sadSleeping in my company car seems like a much better choice then this smelly propertyI have requested that my company allow my team to stay at a better brand IHG is horrible

This hotel is the worst one I have ever stayed 1 the rooms are very very old and smells bad too

2 the environment looks very dirty probably because it’s very old, and it still looks very dirty no matter how you clean 3 the service at front desk needs a lot of improvement, they told one thing yesterday and totally forgot it today Be away from such a bad hotel if you want to have a good night

Gorav Vig

Bad customer service at front desk Reserved 4 nights with points, however on last day front desk told me I have to pay for last day Some confusion happened, however front desk did not help or care to help

Next day, I talked to manager and she did not seem to care about bad customer expierience either Never want to stay in a place where employees don’t care about customer service

For a hotel you need to spend a night or two away, this place honestly gets the job done No complaints on my end Not overly luxurious but not a drop dead dirty motel

Some parts of this hotel do seem a little more run down than others Good A/C Pool included Bar in the evening and reasonably priced breakfast and brunch, not complimentary like other hotels, but coffee is free Staff is very friendly and lobby is nice and cleanDistance to DTLA is roughly 20 minutes and to other areas like Hollywood and Santa Monica, you can expect around 30-40 A lot of commercial areas nearby Montebello and places to get foodMe and my partners room was abundantly clean, staff did a great job TV with cable, microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and safe box We stayed on the fifth floor Hallways were quiet for most of the night and we did not experience any noise complaints, hardly heard anything throughout the entire eveningOverall, good place to stay Worth the cost and worth the amenities I know all rooms aren’t the same but for our experience, we had a very comfortable and relaxed time

Becky Raborg

While we loved the room and the staff was great it was a heck of a long walk to the rooms at the other end of the hall! The pool needed to be skimmed and there were no towels We had to go searching for someone to bring some then they never came back to bring more

Also, there were no signs to tell you how to get to the pool

Jaime Mitchell

I am currently staying at this location I checked in last night for a 3 night stay On arrival, my family of 4 and I only had a set towels for two people

I had to request towels for my family and I on 3 separate occasions I called to remind the front desk and eventually sent my nephew downstairs to retrieve what we needed Tonight we arrived after a day of sight seeing and the ENTIRE parking lot is full because of 2 parties on site I had to park across the street at the mall As a paying customer, I don’t feel that is providing excellent customer service I have the recommendation to have the guest of those hosting the party RSVP so that they can get a count of how many parking passes are needed for the mall parking Those visiting the property for the festivities should be made to park at the mall As a paying customer, I find this unacceptableWhen I brought this issue to the front desk personnel, I was just told they had two parties going on, and that they were sorry for the inconvenience I will not be returning here

The bathroom had a giant tub with jets which was awesome The junior suite had 2 nice, comfortable, and clean beds The furniture (table, chair, and couch) were really clean and nice

The issues I had was the musty smell that killed my allergies It was almost like a moldy smell, but I didn’t see the mold We probably would have asked for another room except it was night and we were only sleeping there, so it didn’t matter that much Also, opening the window helped a lot 🙂

Small run down room A disclaimer, we booked through Hotels Tonight and this may be the reason we got the room we got I did peek in open doors and there are nice sized rooms with porches

The positive: friendly people good breakfast and not bad location However: No hot water, lukewarm showers and gave up on hot water from sink TV lost the cable signal The windows had tape on them staying “do not open” Cracks in bathroom walls and ceiling Tiny metal baker’s rack next to pedestal sink so no where to put toiletries The lotion and body wash appeared partially used No parking when we arrived back at 10 pm Traffic noise which may have have to do with room location on corner We were excited about coming to this place from the photos and reviews, so we were sad with our experience

Daniel Remler

Absolutely wonderful and charming Bed and Breakfast nestled a bit up the mountainside with great views of South Pasadena and well beyond

Incredibly excellent cooking for breakfast every morning — coffee is top notch and there’s tea too A 3-story “Craftsman” style house where every room is great Piano and bar in lobby area Walk up 1 or 2 floors at most Quiet

FFC Inc

Beautiful views with a warm and relaxing ambiance The original historic details of the estate offered additional charm and intrigueThe area is peaceful with restaurants & shopping nearby – no need to hassle with traffic

The breakfast room is lovely The omelette served with fresh fruit and toast was absolute perfection!Photos are of room #1 at sunset

Nice place, very clean and nice smellsThe breakfast is very simple but okay and the parking lot for approx 27$ per night is also fine

Staff was trying to be friendly but didn’t succeed I did not get the feeling that we were taken seriously and every question we had was annoying for the staffTwo examples: The towels at the pool were empty so my friend went downstairs to reception The ‘help’ she got was the note that there would be a rack with towels Obviously the rack was empty and we were lucky to have house keeping running around on the same floor and got towels from themSecond example: House keeping had to be requested 24h in advance We didn’t get informed about this at the check in but okay This is not something unusual for the US We stayed in total for 4 nights and after 2 nights we wanted at least fresh towels So we scheduled an appointment for the next day However, when we got back we only found a notice on the floor saying that housekeeping wasn’t possible due to high demandThis frankly is unacceptable and impudent After all, the ‘rent’ per night is fairly highWith better service I’d rate the facility much higher

We stayed last night, using a free night with our Bonvoy points Good location near freeway and plenty of restaurants to walk to Our room was clean and spacious

Nice kitchen area with working appliances THANK YOU for being dog friendly Our dog adjusted nicely and the employees were very nice to him (and us!) Even gave him a treat at the front deskThe breakfast was very good and there’s nice areas to sit The lady working that area that morning was super friendly and made sure everyone was doing well She’s awesome!Only complaints:• thermostat was a bit confusing Even with instructions We got it working but it was very low strength to cool the room- breakfast ended a bit early (9am)- pull out couch bed was very uncomfortable We also heard other guests complaint about it

Tatsuo Suki

This Residence Inn in Pasadena is a nice hotel for both short and extended stays The room that we stayed in was clean and had no issues with it The staff were nice and accommodating with requests that you may have

The breakfast is still a “grab and go” type of breakfast due to COVID but they do have ready-made oatmeal with all the toppings you want, which is great The giant chess set on site is rather fun to play with and the pool is typical of a Residence Inn pool – which is located outdoors, 2nd floorAll in all, a nice stay and will definitely be back to visit

We had a good stay here The rooms were clean and aside from road noise the place was fairly quiet We arrived after midnight and the parking lot was full but the lady at the front desk (forgot her name) offered a reasonable solution to park somewhere where if needed I’d have to move my car which was no problem with me

Also the front desk lady was very friendly and welcoming The rooms were nice and included a fridge, microwave, hair dryer and coffee There was plenty of room for clothing storage There were plenty of outlets and charging ports which sometimes can be hard to find at older places but not here I’ll be looking forward to my next stay here when I’m in the area Thank you

krampus

Quite literally the rudest staff I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with Found myself in a situation where I needed lodging for the night This place had good reviews (which I’m convinced are shills) and decent rates- that’s all I needed for the time

Online we saw there were a few rooms available Decided to go take a look because we were only 15 minutes awayCalled the front desk from inside the hotel parking lot to book for the night, was told “do it online, we don’t do it over the phone or walk-ins”…okay why?Went online to book (still in the parking lot) and now it was listed as zero room availabilityCalled front desk again, asked why she didn’t express that they were booked before telling me to book onlineWas told this time that they were at full capacity WRONG Went to another booking site and found vacancy, which I immediately bookedWent inside to get the key and was told that my roommate couldn’t park in the lot, only one car allowed, despite the rooms all meant for 2 The place wasn’t even fullThe Hindu couple at the check in desk were straight up RUDE and aggressive Locked me out of the lobby, now I’m in the parking lot WITH a reservation and im locked out without a keySo business partner called the desk (still in the parking lot) Was given excuse after excuse, my favorite being that they had 10 other check ins for the night scheduled to arrive (mind you this was 11:00pm at this point)I explained that nowhere on the booking sites does it stipulate only one car is permitted, she pointed to a sign at the desk and says “it’s right here”…etf good is that? Y’all only take online reservations, it doesn’t take a genius to see the inherent flaw of that logicTold partner that there was no management to speak with (even tho the lady had told me that she was the mgr)Spent another hour trying to get a refund so I could get going and find a place to stay before midnight at leastThe attitude was mind boggling, I’m no Karen but wow! Never experienced such poor and downright rude customer service anywhere in my travelsAdditionally, the place looked like garbage, the lobby was nice but that’s clearly a facade Was willing to settle because it was late but after they pulled all the bs, I left and stayed at the Ramada- same rate, mucho better accommodationsI’m convinced the majority of these reviews are shills, there is NO WAY a legit business could have such positive reviews with Habeeb and Anita at the helm…like no chance If I was the owner, I would be furious to learn my guests were being treated in such a unprofessional mannerDon’t believe the reviews, this place is sketch Glad they didn’t get a single rupee from meAvoid like the plague

I’m only giving one star because I can’t give zero My entire stay at this hotel was terrible from start to end When we first arrived we were given a room that was not cleaned

We walked in and the room was turned upside down The new room we were given was across from a gas station so it was loud all night We were told we have to request 24hrs prior for our room to be cleaned or towels I scheduled for fresh towels and never received them When I called to inquire I was told we were never added to the list The rooms were poorly light The air conditioner also broke in the middle of the night All of these combined made the hotel stay bad However the icing on the cake was when someone came into my room without permission Our suitcases were ransacked Personal items pulled out Jewelry gone through and $100 stolen I immediately reported this to the front desk A “report” was taken and I was told to expect a follow up call Saturday When I called to follow up the manager on duty had no idea of my complaint and I now I have to wait until Monday for the general manager to investigate The hotel employees are thieves and the management is awful A trip ruined by their lack of service Never go here unless you want to be robbed!

Highly recommend this location Then only reason for loosing a star is no real blankets and the hours for cafe etc are not the best Great staff , nice facility and great location

Some things are really dated but understand that with the way things are resources are limited We have stayed multiple times and will definitely be back especially because we get to bring our fur baby with us and the great restaurants, bars and shops walking distance away Highly recommend

Stephanie S

1st room we were given has wet red spots all over the carpet Looked like they tried cleaning it but it was really wet still The ac was horrible and the room was just dirty looking

We asked for a different room and that room was great Not sure why they still book people in a dirty room with no ac when they have others available Also had to get the bill adjusted because they charged for parking when the site we booked on said free parking Pool is not as amazing as pictures make it out to be BUT great location within walking distance to lots of restaurants

The hotel is clearly under new management/ownership which affected our stay along with the remodeling The staff is very green and unknowledgeable The phones don’t work

The rooms are smaller than other hotels in the area I’d recommend looking elsewhere for the price point Perhaps with time, they’ll tighten up their services, amenities, and staff training but I would not consider staying here again

Anthony Sotelo

This hotel is terrible While it has potential, it should not be open during remodeling The bar was not open, the halls smell like mildew and the overall amenities are not comparable to other hotels with similar price points

When booking it doesn’t mention that only 2 floors were available and that the rooms are very tiny We called and left a message to the manager and received no call back No room service unless you ask I highly recommend you stay elsewhere

Neilou Heidari

I reserved a room block at Hotel Constance for myself and guests for my wedding weekend The hotel rep reassured us that the hotel would reopen before our wedding day, however, a month before our event, told us that they would not reopen in time This left us scrambling to find a new hotel

Not only that, Hotel Constance charged us a deposit but failed to return it back to us – nobody is answering phones or emails I am calling on management/ ownership/whomever to return our deposit ASAP

Very overpriced low-end dive Demanded and extra $10000 for us to pay with a debit card

They claimed they would mail the $10000 back some time in the future The continental breakfast was a joke A guy in a room behind a window, you have to ask, “do you have any sweetrolls?” He brings one Then you have to ask for coffee Then you have to ask for cream or sugar What a joke!!!!!

Fil M

Tl;dr: the charm is a facade, the area is next to a loud, busy street, and the bed is ancientThe “charm” stops in the lobby where you book a room I called ahead to ask for vacancies and gave me a quote

Once I head in, the woman who gave me the quote pretends she didn’t talk to me over the phone and gives me a more expensive quote My boyfriend steps in to ask her to honor the original quote and she plays dumb gives us a “discount” We end up regretting staying here bc this place is just a bunch of dusty junk in the rooms and and old beds with no consideration for comfort Continental breakfast was mentioned until 10am, but by 9:30am, it was all being packed up Never returning

We were very happy with our stay here Our room and kingbed were comfortable, and there was ample furniture (even a regular size table and two chairs) to spread our stuff out on Great bathroom – Jet blast toilet (no clogging!) and super clean (tile grout and tub caulk were bright white, no mold or other issues)

Room was relatively quiet though highway noise could be heard due to location Very friendly staff (kudos to Jody in the breakfast room for her cheerful greeting and overall attentiveness) We’re on a cross country drive and this was one of the best hotels in its class that we’ve stayed at

Laura Corbin

Better than the Best Western right next to it but not worth the price They do take AAA though for a discount Bad location but had to be there for work

Definitely not a vacation spot but very good for what was needed Room had a microwave, mini fridge, two comfortable beds, AC, a coffee maker, hair dryer in the bathroom, l It’s of light and curtains for night and a nice TV Staff was great and catered to a wake up call

My stay was a little under three weeks This place is a tale of two cities I realized after some time that this location is definitely in a transitional phase

I saw another comment that perhaps it was a different motel before and was taken over by Comfort InnSo let me start with the Positive: The bed is a dream Very comfortable The wifi was perfect Good place to do online work actually as there is a nice desk and comfy work chair Washer/dryer/gym/business center (in lobby) on site Very clean and sanitized The gym had the most essential equipment needed I really don’t think the gym is getting much use anyway so don’t think anyone has to worry about germs The cleaning lady told me they come in and sanitize at 830am every morning Washer and dryer clean and dry perfectly There is a pool, but did not use it Also there is continental breakfast with some basic choices The next day after checking in the parking lot was fully repaved The ladies who do housekeeping are the golden queens of this places Some clean better than others of course, but they are there early keeping up the whole facility and cleaning service is everyday I am always sure to show them respect The price is pretty good but I guess it would be since there is a lot of transitioning going on The room as a whole has luxury style upgrades but over patchwork plaster where there still needs to be some painting done There is an old mixed with new feel But generally the room had a homely feel Microwave and larger fridge was very niceOkay so the disadvantages Like I said the price is good for all that is offered on site, and if you are going to stay now just know that changes are being made The crowd is a mixed bag Sometimes it is very quiet and then at night it can get a little noisy It seems to me that a Code of Conduct needs to be strictly enforced There were a lot of people not respecting rules adults and kids alike I was gone for one night visiting my sister and came back the next night to find that my room had flood and the tub was filled with black water It was also the room below me that was damaged as well Thankfully the worker that night did the right thing by moving me to another room that was very close No issues with the second room Also one night was discounted for the mishap and all was fine at checkout Customer service needs a lot of help Water pressure in shower could be more

Chris O

Four stars because the rooms, lobby and breakfast room are very clean and modern The hotel has clearly been updated It’s an older place

The amenities in the room are very good I was particularly pleased with the larger refrigerator with a good sized freezer Free hot breakfast is available until 10 am Plentiful hot breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs (probably powdered eggs), boiled eggs, waffles, bagels, bread and a toaster, oranges and bananas The breakfast room requires key entry and is small, so consider taking breakfast back to your room if there are no tables availableStaff is friendly and very helpful

This hotel was good for us because the room was clean The bed was very comfortable The air conditioning worked like a charm at 38 degrees Celsius

There was lots of food stores in very close proximity and even a Walgreens The pool was small and had some bugs in it but when it’s that hot you love it anyways The staff were friendly The breakfast was lacking, super small room with only a couple tables, scrambled eggs, tiny sausage patties, cold cereal, tiny muffins, fruit, and waffle iron There is a denny’s down the street

Very comfortable rooms with excellent service overall The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because when we checked in the room had not been cleaned properly There was spilled rice on the carpet and a light bulb missing in a lamp

This was promptly fixed but it makes one wonder about attention to detail as this is not a cheap hotel For the rest of our stay the housekeeping was excellent We found the valet service quite fast and enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast

If you are visiting the LA area and are looking for a safe and comfortable stay than this is a solid optionYou are going to get the amenities that you need (unless you need dry cleaning on Memorial Day weekend)The rooms were standard with a mostly clean facilities

The bed and pillows were not the most comfortableStaying here requires you to Valet park your car every time which can get annoying if you are in and out like we wereThe restaurant serves basics for high prices and it would be beneficial to go out for breakfast or dinnerAlthough they state the coffee cart is open at 6, we were unable to get coffee in the morning before heading to DisneylandMy suggestion would be stay here if you need a comfortable and affordable option

This Hilton might be the worst Hilton you can stay at The hotel is loud, dirty, and has homeless people hanging out inside The staff is some of the rudest people I have ever experienced at any hotel

The rooms are old, dirty, and small; you can hear everything outside your room all night The breakfast that was once free now is not, the valet is expensive, and it takes about 45min to get your car I’ve had better experiences at a Motel 6 Save your time and money and stay anyplace but here

The internet was very slow, but everything else was great Easy parking, nice rooms, easy access to the city, good hot breakfastSolis (spelling?) was amazing! We ate breakfast all 3 mornings and she was just so friendly and welcoming to me and my family

We couldn’t help but be in a good mood during and after breakfast She asked about our trip and gave us some tips for the beach and things to do Sometimes hotel staff can be cranky and she was the furthest thing from that I had a great stay and she made it even better!

Reasonable and standard rooms Has two closets for the 2 queen bed Towels are small, and thin

Toilet is powerful but loud AC works well, but make sure to move the curtains behind it so that the cold reaches the room Beds comfortable, but if you have people getting up a lot at night it will make noise Never heard neighbors, so I assume that the walls are fairly soundproof Never heard the freewayBreakfast was pretty good, standard continental stuff Eggs a little too salty Very nice breakfast attendant Not many locations to walk to Has a pool, but I never used itOverall an above average hotel, and I would recommend it

If you’ve been in Southern California this last week of June, you know how horrifically hot it’s been Unfortunately, the power had gone out two days in a row in Altadena, and I couldn’t take the heat/lack of electricity anymore Especially since the outage repair had no definite end in sight

Rather than remain cranky, I opted for some self care and booked a last-minute room at the Best Western Pasadena Royale Inn & Suites Check-in was smooth and my room was clean and comfortable I swam in the sparkling clean pool for the remaining hour it was open Beyond grateful for cold, effective air conditioning, I slept peacefully the entire nightBreakfast service was what made my experience at the Best Western stellar Elise was on duty, and she is extraordinary Her enthusiasm, attentiveness, positivity and friendliness is absolutely genuine You can tell she enjoys interacting with the guests In fact, all the staff I encountered went out of their way to ensure I had a good experienceThank you, Best Western, for helping me cool off, relax, sleep well and smile the next day
