I simply cannot Say enough things about this hotel Excellent staff, excellent room, excellent everything

I upgraded into a suite, and it was awesome I mean, this hotel has the feeling of old, while everything is new We even had a jacuzzi tub in the room! Do yourself a favor and spend a few nights at this Hilton jewel You WON’T regret it

Katherine F.

Awesome old hotel in a good location – great breakfast is just across the street at Whisk and there is a restaurant in the hotel (though I didn’t try it) The rooms are more modern though the layout and some small accents like mirrors and art retain the vintage charm The hotel also has Tesla electric chargers and they are close to the front, not in the back like lots of hotels! 10/10 would stay here again

Errold Michel

Stayed this past weekend The first night, no issues Second night, bugs and a spider were found throughout the bed

I let the staff at night know, checked out early, and the night clerk said his manager would call me to follow up Next morning I was billed and still haven’t been contactedUPDATE:Hotel contacted me via email 2 days later with an updated invoice and email stating they looked into the matter Thank you for following up I updated my ratings because they responded

Clean comfortable rooms, indoor pool, nice gym with modern equipment, and daily breakfast included The front desk was attentive, and helpful ,when there were issues with the in room tv,sending someone to repair the issue in a reasonable amt of timeBreakfast is served until 10am,and the staff sticks to that time

Best to get there early for the best selection, and a relaxing breakfast, bf food is taken away,at 10 sharp!

Average and could be betterWhen staying at a hotel, details are big!All the hallways look like they haven’t been vacuumed in a while Stairwells have trash as well

Bathroom had some very bad tile work Can you ever stay at a hotel/motel without finding hair in the bathroom? Wallpaper is peelingNow the positives Room had fridge, micro, coffee pot and TV A desk in the room provides good area for computer work Area has good 5G data signal Hotel is close to many great places to eat such as Grandes, Boys From Italy and other fast food locationsA separate issue was trying to extend my stay I seemed to get the runaround from all people Asked and they were supposed to talk with the manager however, no one contacted me A little disappointed there

To say that we had horrible service would be a massive understatement This place needs a formal investigation & overhaul The level of negligence & incompetency is absolutely unconscionable

We were basically kickedout of our room, unbeknownst to us They removed our belongings & rented the room out, while I was at work, despite advising the staff that we would not be checking out today, multiple times Essentially, they put us in a position of “homelessness”, without as much as an honest apology To add insult to the injury, I firmly believe this was intentionally done, by their disgruntled staff member, who patronized us at every step, & refused to assist They frequently make erroneous errors & mess up bookings, etc Their negligence left us scrambling last minute We couldn’t even get our room cleaned, after a week & spending thousands! Phones are rarely answered, front staff completely unhinged, unprofessional, apathetic & condescending The management should be embarrassed This place failed us profoundly, & their actions/treatment were abysmal & borderline crimina…& I don’t say that lightheartedly! Sorry to say, but the woman that works at the front office should NOT be in this Industry This is a hospitality Industry, & she very clearly doesn’t like her career, & that resentment shows towards guests This woman answers phones & immediately says in an irritated tone…”I’m gonna have to put you on hold”! What kind of a way is that to speak to guests? Anyone that behaves like that has no business working w/ customers in this Industry Completely abhorrent & inept service all the way around Staff seems to hang up on people, berate them & refuses services, often leaving us begging for clean towels? Is it too much to clean a room after a weeks stay? (Yes we called & requested it too) We were practically begging & had been advised yesterday that our room would be fully cleaned today That didn’t come to fruition I have to wait an hour for clean towels on my lunch break & am late to work because I couldn’t shower? Staff consistently dropped the ball…futile attempts at making excuses at every turn Take some accountability & treat your guests w/ respect & dignity! We were Inconvenienced from the moment of check in (they had dates incorrect) & subsequently provided with just all around unconscionable service Maintenance guy has better service than your front staff! Train your employee to treat people w/ dignity & respect I plan to file complaints through Corporate, BBB & every Regulatory agency if an amicable resolution is not achieved Inexcusable service

Stayed here on an Erie Canal bike ride from Syracuse, it was easy off the trail access We were disappointed being on the second floor which required carrying up stairs but the rooms were spacious for bikes in the room The rooms were clean and beds comfortable

Easy walk into town for dinner at local restaurants Breakfast was functional but might require a second breakfast once on the ride

Julie Nicolazzo

The whole place was depressing It looked like a prison when we pulled up; the door to our room was filthy, and the room itself was dirty and the smell was sickening I had to sleep with clothes from my luggage over my nose

I didn’t dare take a shower; used the bathroom as little as possible The blinds on the windows were broken and filthy There were no screens on the windows so I couldn’t keep them open all night (which I wanted to get some fresh air running through) There were homeless people in the parking lot and they would appear out of nowhere and knock on your car window! There was trash right outside our door the next morning It was a very scary, uncomfortable stay Didn’t sleep well and couldn’t wait to leave Will never return! DO NOT STAY HERE

Comfortable beds Very clean rooms, and very well maintained property The staff is wonderful and helped us with all of our questions

In the hospitality industry most people are confident Arin at the front desk is exceptional She brought up extra pillows and our takeaway order that was delivered to the front desk She’s always asking if she can help in anyway to make our stay more comfortable She’s extremely professional and kind Her actions give a new meaning to “hotel guest” We really felt like we were very welcomed guests I would strongly recommend this property Aryn is an excellent Employee Any organization would be proud to have her represent their company Aryn deserves a promotion and a raise

My wife and I just spent two nights at the Hampton in Utica, NY The hotel has been recently updated to the new gray color pattern This was a complete refresh and the entire hotel is nice, crisp and clean

I saw the staff regularly cleaning in the public spaces; looked great The breakfast hostess greeted us with a smile and was hustling to keep the food hot and fresh She gladly accommodated my request to put the freezer packs from my cooler in their freezer till we needed them Such a simple thing, but it makes a long road trip so easy The room was clean, the bed comfy and the accessible shower was just right Rather than a true roll-in, the new shower had a pan with a 2 inch lip and the curtain fits down on the inside of the pan lip No water all over the bathroom floor! Yea! This hotel is about 2 blocks south of the NY Thruway and convenient to everything in the area Highly recommended

Ethan Thompson

The staff was very friendly and my room was clean They let me store my pack laden bicycle in the back room so I didn’t have to lug it up the stairs I especially appreciated their accommodating my request to change rooms when I had a noisy neighbor at midnight who wouldn’t respond to knocks or calls from the front desk

Overall I’m very satisfied with my stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

The staff member who checked us in (Saturday afternoon) they were SO sweet, friendly, funny, personable, very efficient and just overall very pleasantBed itself was pretty standard hotel mattress, not super fluffy, more firm side Overall, really great hotel Staff, clean Would absolutely stay again!

Really can’t go wrong The facilities were great, the breakfast was decent and had some variety day to day, but the real thing I want to compliment was the staff I was here for Easter weekend and they hosted an Easter egg hunt and the staff really went above and beyond to make it fun for the kids

If nothing else this makes them a solid choice

Awesome room at a very affordable price The cleaning guy who knew we were staying an additional day was very surprised when he walked in and found we had left but came back in about 10 minutes Not sure what he was up to

But we’ve got a pretty good idea he was casing out our room after he watched us leave but failed to see we had came back Shady I’d say But otherwise a nice stay

Amanda Jo Konzelman

The staff as very friendly And the stay was not too bad There were just some minor inconvenience we ran into

The pool was down so we had to go to the Hilton across the way to swim The microwave in our room, while we didn’t ended up needing to use it, was broken The door would not close and just swung open I was also a little disappointed im the gym/fitness center Just one treadmill, bike, and an elliptical With a few free weight dumbbellsThe breakfast was really good though with a wide choices of options

Chris Hamner

IHG diamond elite member here I am in hotels 4 nights a week for work Stayed 2 nights at this one

Checked in and found out that a water main in the hotel broke “Plumber is on the way, should be fixed soon” 24 hours later they finally got the water back on Bill was originally $376 but they charged me $360 So 24 hours without water and because of that, no breakfast the following morning either Refunded $16 I understand things happen that you just can’t control but 24 hours without water and I got a $16 discount? Not even some extra points? Other than that, the staff was friendly, hotel has a good location and room was decent

I’ve stayed at many Hampton Inns and this is definitely one of the best Never really had a bad stay at any Hampton Inn but this one stood out as way above par My wife and I are moving across country which has a number of different stresses, so we were looking forward to a nice place to stay for the night

And we got it! Very clean Reasonable rates And the staff were awesome Jean at the front desk checked us in and was incredibly helpful He is clearly an asset to Hampton Inn Highly recommend this place

Lindsey Meys

I’ve never experienced a better staff in my life Every single staff member during our stay was attentive, overly accommodating and went above and beyond, even when not asked They opened breakfast an hour early on the weekend so our softball team could get a good meal in before we had to leave, and they offered to arrange a conference room if we were ordering in one night for a team dinner

The cleaning staff even gave our girls high fives on their way out to a game Lovely outdoors area, the girls swam, played basketball and volleyball while the parents sat around the fire I can’t say how much we appreciate the staff and loved our stay at this clean, updated and wonderful hotel

Carine Harley

We drove up 5 hours from NYC and needed to check-in early and they were so helpful in getting me ready for my graduation ceremony that started at 4 The staff was so friendly! I had my kids and they allowed us a few extra minutes in the pool because we got back so late from the ceremony and were checking out the next morning The continental breakfast was amazing, felt more like a paid breakfast, it wasn’t just muffins and croissants but eggs, and even a waffle iron that my kids really enjoyed

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn Utica NY from Dec 23, 2021 to Jan 2, 2022 I have stayed here every time I come to Utica This hotel has excellent staff and service and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else

I would recommend this place highly The staff is so professional and friendly every time I have stayed “Nef” the assistant was simply awesome! He never missed a hello or do you need anything ever! He always offered help of any kind when coming and going I just loved his professionalism! He was the best I have encountered in all the hotels I have stayed at in all my travels The other front desk employees were all well trained and could answer anything asked The manager had a great personality and I enjoyed the times we spoke The maintenance man was so sweet He never missed a hello when he seen me and he fixed the dryer fast when it was jammed The breakfast in the morning lacks for nothing The lady that took care of it kept it in top condition every morning I also noticed a gentleman doing as well This hotel has top staff across the board and they should be recognized for it There are so many people out of work and these employees should be rewarded for their extra hard work in keeping the hotel as they do I personally give them a rating of 10! Can’t wait to see them again soon A huge shoutout to all of them!

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay The Oak and Ivy is a beautiful building and it’s host Fred, has put heart and soul into it’s continuing restoration The gardens and interior really reflect his design skills

Our room was comfortable and very romantic and the breakfasts were delicious with table set reminding us of our trip overseas My only regret is that it was a November stay so we will just have to return in December to see the house come alive for Christmas, enjoy the afternoon teas and then again in the spring to sit amongst the flowers

Awesome pet friendly hotel Great side road for walking my senior rescue pooch Clean and set up well

Just could use a bit more bathroom counterspaceIt’s Atom approved Don’t mind the eyes, he’s begging for some of my dinner

Kelly Cotting

We had a good experience here The unit was very clean, the beds were comfortable, kitchen well appointed The alterations they’ve made for covid were totally appropriate but also didn’t negatively affect our stay

Hospitality staff will come by and not enter the room, but empty trashcans if you leave them outside They also still do provide housecleaning services no matter how long your stay UNLESS you flip the sign indicating you don’t want them They still served a pretty decent breakfast, the staff was exceptionally kind with my unruly three year old who was super jazzed about the pool and tracked water everywhere, and the pool is available if you reserve a one hour timeslot ensuring you’re the only guests using it

Tom Tudesco

AVOID this place With so many other choices in the area, do not waste your money I am a Marriott member and we made a reservation thru the Marriott website

We stayed 4 nights and had issues every dayCheck in was a disaster as we were given a key to a room that was occupied We found that out when we went to the room to try and use it We went back down to the desk and after being told they had no rooms, 20 minutes later we finally had a room that was not occupied The room was not clean, carpet ripped and we found a used washcloth handing on the shower curtain We asked for cleaning service each day and received it one day of the four days we stayed We had to go down to desk each night for towels The front desk at night was poorly staffed by people who did not not know what they were doing/not trained or were too busy looking at their personal cell phonesCustomer service, was non existentBreakfast in the morning had aged fruit, and was not kept looking nice bu the staffAgain, other places around the area have to better

Location couldn’t be better Easy access to the highway, and walking distance to some fantastic dining experiences Services seem to have been suspended or greatly reduced, with no housekeeping at all during my stay, so I can’t comment on the quality

Breakfast met my personal standard of crispy bacon, and both wait staff and front desk personnel were friendly and helpful

Michael W

Some of the rooms are very dated and need repair especially on the second floor so if they try to give you that floor try to changeThe breakfast is a basic Hotel breakfast I’m not sure why they charge $16 for it that’s the same kind of breakfast that’s free at most places for a continental breakfastThe servers in the restaurant are friendly and outgoing the food is okay if you don’t have any other option but there’s a lot of restaurants close by go to one of those if you canI would stay there again but I would probably try somewhere else first

The best part of this place is definitely the front desk staff and the servers in the restaurant

Cris Noble

Let me start by saying the room itself and the amenities were great Also in my first 2 days here the staff was very friendly and hospitable However upon the third day things went left thus the reason for my 1 star rating

A young lady at the front desk named “Cotton” was rude, unfriendly and unaccommadating I am a combat disabled veteran as well as a rewards memebr I was checked with the military rate as I normally am After my 2nd day I asked to have my room extended another night and was told my rate would now be doubled and they could not honor the military rate for me The young lady went on to say I shouldn’t have recieved a military rate in the first place I asked why and explained I have all of my documentation and she never once asked to see them to verify I asked to speak with a manager but was told she wouldn’t be in for another couple of hours So I asked could my check out be extended until that time instead of checking out and back in She did that, great However once she reset my room card she without asking me or notifying me took away my reward privileges even though I am a reward member She also never asked for verification of thatNow here is the kicker 4 other guests walked up to the desk after me and asked could they be locked in at the rate they checked in at upon extending their stay also They were told of course and the rate would be adjusted and all taken care of! They were even provided after room cleaning with fresh sheets, pillows etc I followed the customers out the door to ask and verify if they had in fact been locked in and given another night’s stay at the original rate and they said yes! I explained my situation and how I was being given a hard time and they said be persistent I came inside and asked the front desk rep why they had their rate honored and Cotton grabbed her head and said I’m not listening to anything else I said that is a part of customer servicegood customer service Listening and communicating politely, friendly Especially when I hadn’t yelled or been irate I was simply asking question expecting to get solid and friendly answersWhy were these women being treated differently and better than me? I hate to think it was a matter of race but narrowing everything down I feel it may have been thatI am very disappointed in my service today We’ve stayed here numerous times without issue until today, it’s upsetting Especially being that I am also a miliary veteran I called corporate to make a complaint which has been noted I am awaiting the case to be reviewed while I will be trying one more time to get my military rate honored by the manager when she arrives If I am treated fairly by the manager I will adjust my rating but in the meantime1 star

Though the hospitality is pleasant and they have breakfast and a sundries market… The rooms are slightly subpar The rooms are spacious with nice toiletries but there was a hole in the floor and just a thin sheet on our bed…

It’s 20° outside… granted we will have the heat on, but no blanket? Thicker sheet? The hotel room is clean but some places needed dusting, there was some signs of wear and tear in the bathroom, and the fridge seems to be on low Other than that, it’s comfortableAlso had their breakfast the following morning I’m impressed with the food 4/5 They had a hot station filled with eggs, ham, and hash browns They had a good selection of bagels and other pastries including an English muffin and toast The coffee is fresh and delicious and what was exciting is their waffle maker

Relatively clean and affordable getaway from the normal hectic Life The pillows could be a little bigger or normal size, I had square shaped pillows, not very comfortable to sleep with The shower could have a wall shelf for the shampoos so that you don’t have to bend down to get them

Otherwise great express free breakfast, great location, good service Will be back again and again

Very disappointing stay Upon arrival, the whole hotel reeked of marijuana I realize that it’s legalized for certain things, but the inside of a hotel should not smell that bad

It smelled like that 2 days straight (I had 2 children with me) I’m not sure if it’s one of the employees that smokes or what The elevators were also filthy, somebody had hocked a Lougee on the wall & there were also dirty/muddy handprints on the doors Also, the most disappointing thing is that they have a broken pool We booked here because of that pool And when I called to book the room, nobody ever said the pool couldn’t be used because they were waiting on a part The website depicts a pool as well Website also depicts free breakfast, but does not say “continental breakfast” either Very misleading The Gym also had no cleaning solution, even though posters asked you to “wipe down” equipment Hard to get room service as well Apparently you have to call and request it Over $1000 for a few nights day & no amenities The people that answer the phones & work here are also very apathetic Not a huge surprise considering the town it is in and the younger generation nowadays, but nonetheless, the customer service was quite frankly appalling… They just want to get you off the phone & they sound like you are inconveniencing them every time they speak to you Not impressed & will not return
