Room was clean, construction was happening but I never heard any noise while I was there One elevator was out but the other was working just fine Room service was available upon request

There was a pretty cold draft coming from near the window but u cranked the heat and it was fine I think this place will be great when the renovations are done but for now it’s good enough for what I needed

Stayed July 2022I checked the website when I booked in February to see if this hotel swimming pool was in working order It said nothing

When I got there though, it was not workingThis is the 3rd Hampton Inn I stayed at in less than a year where the pool wasn’t working when I got there They said it had stopped working a couple months agoI ended up calling corporate as I had now told my kids, 3 stays in a row, that there was not a pool to use Their hearts were brokenCORPORATE HELPEDIt is not the individual employee’s faults This is a problem from aboveI will never stay at a Hampton Inn again They did nothing Absolutely nothing to warn us, help us, whateverCorporate was able to book me a different Hilton owned hotel a 1/4 mile away with a working pool There is some weirdness with the billing, but that will all be worked out later and I’m getting it for the same price

Pros- Breakfast was good Waffle machine worked great as always- Staff was friendly- Floor was quiet and we were able to get a good nights restCons- Room had only one towel- Elevator was broken- Sheets were dirty and it appeared that they were not changed

We had to get new ones from front desk- Room floor was dirty- Things could of been organized better in the breakfast kitchenI guess it was a busy weekend for the hotel and it caused more problems It was not what I expected from a Hampton

Stayed two nights with them No housekeeping given after the first night Only excuses given, short staffed, they need to turn the rooms over

No apologies, no offer to adjust bill So much for that you will be 100% satisfied or they will make it rightWe stayed Mon, Tues, looked pretty empty in parking lot both daysCheap coffee maker, afraid to push the buttons it felt like it was falling apart2 people staying in the room and you offer 1 reg and 1 decafShould have taken the time to read more reviews myself This is a on going issue here Maybe time to get rid of the management who continues making this an acceptable stayThere are plenty of other places

I had a reservation that was to take place after an appointment out of town so that I didn’t have to drive back home in a blizzard I was not able to make it to my appointment due to icy roads and had to turn around and head home I called to cancel my reservation at appr 4:30 pm and the desk clerk told me that only the manager can cancel reservations and he was gone for the day

Then I asked if there was an assistant manager that could authorize it and he was ALSO gone for the day! He told me the best he could do was have me call the manager in the morning Well then I become a no-show and they can charge me the room fee How convenient! I told him I have never had this happen before and I will not be staying here again if this is how they manage this motel I booked it through my AAA account, and couldn’t cancel on their page either so I’m screwed either way

I’ve contemplated on writing this review for several reasons: The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained The guest services staff has been a horrifying experience for us! In fact, it has been our housekeeper that has made us feel welcomed when the customer service should have existed at the point of us making our reservation then upon check-inReview your folio and credit card statement carefully! I made our reservation with Tom who it many terms almost was suggesting we not book this location ( wish I’d followed those first instincts)

He made our reservation quoting $134/night and about an hour later I received a confirmation email confirming the rate Check-in was definitely lacking customer service, so much that I asked the guest services rep to soften his tone as we were guests He did do so We asked to extend our stay another night for a family event and was quoted the same rate of $134; I asked why the rate didn’t decrease after the peak time and was told it would decrease slightly, but not by much ( an odd answer) Upon checking out the folio had a different charge for each night ( $134 night 1, $169 night 2, and $144 night 3) with taxes, etc Our total was to me $149 Our credit card was charged a total of $700!!!The guest services rep Ryan advised rates could change and he couldn’t adjust it even though our reservation said $134 He had me email the hotel a copy of our credit card charges and the rate shown on the reservation He advised that his manager Nator would be giving me a call that day After hearing from Nator, I called back and was told Ryan lied All of my other calls and emails have gone unanswered Knowing that I also talked to Nator 3 hours before check-in and he too confirmed our rate as being $134 I’m deeply concerned as to why all of the variances on both our card and guest folio? It seems highly unethical and sad that we’re being forced to file a complaint for what otherwise would have been an excellent stay!

Great location and proximity to downtown Detroit Quick on and off the highway Complimentary breakfast was delicious and there was no shortage of options for all tastes

Workout facility and pool area seem to be well-maintained and clean Rooms were able to accommodate our group and had satisfactory amenities however one recommendation…The room needs better ventilation Windows cannot be cracked and the bathroom fan was not working Overall, I would recommend this location and I plan on staying there in the future

Amber Nebinger

The place exceeded our expectations The rooms are huge, very clean, and the balcony was so nice having, rarely do you get a balcony at a hotel! The staff was incredible, Tea Renee at the front desk was so helpful throughout our stay and so friendly All of the staff was great! The two free drinks a night at the bar are also a plus

We will be staying here again if we come back to the Livonia area! Loved embassy suites!

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of historical portrait all around The rooms are nice and clean but they are like your a standard hotel rooms The event rooms are nice and big and you can decorate them how you like

The staff was very friendly and helpful for everything And the food was okay it looked really pretty The only thing is the parking is very minimal so if you are there for an event you might have some walking to do But it’s really close to the mall and other restaurant so there is a lot of things to get into around the hotel as well Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel it’s nice and a good location

Heather Joyce

I have been meaning to write this review for months now and am finally remembering! My husband and I got married here October 16 2021 We had our ceremony in the courtyard area outside and our reception inside in the grand ballroom Let me start by saying that everything was truly beautiful, exactly how we imagined it to be decorated and Leah is absolutely fantastic at what she does! She is a great wedding coordinator and incredibly kind and accommodating!A few key things that really stood out to my husband and I and made the experience that much better for us:•My bridal party was a little too big for the bridal suite that they let brides use, so we were able to get the suite my husband and I stayed in the night of our wedding a day early so morning of we could have access to it to get ready

•I was dead set on having my ceremony outdoors and it didn’t rain the day of, but it was wet from rain the day before, they put mats down over the super wet parts and had guests avoid that area for sitting/standing•And the BIGGEST thing for us, I have a gluten allergy and so do a few of my family members, all of the food (except the vegetarian dish) were prepared gluten free so that I didn’t have to worry about anything and possibly getting sick on my wedding day (The guests didn’t even know it was gluten free!) And they were extremely accommodating of any other dietary restrictions while the food was still delicious (Dairy free, nut allergy etc)And at the end of the night, the staff helping with our reception loaded up a cart with our decorations, gifts and brought it all to our room!Thank you to the wonderful staff, we had a very memorable wedding and it was exactly how we imagined it to be!!

Melissa Bucholz

Probably years late writing this, but I am able to have an honest opinion now from both sides I was a guest there about 10 years ago and had a wedding reception there The food was excellent, the ballroom was beautiful and clean, and the staff kept everything running so smoothly, that I always remember and cherish that time I had with my family and friends

The room was clean and comfortable, and they left complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and champagne My only complaint was the thermostat was broken in the room at the time, so we wound up checking out a bit early to go on our trip But I’m certain maintenance got on it after the fact, as I’ve seen things are taken care of as soon as possible We were only staying really a few hours after the reception so it wasn’t a big enough deal to call about10 years later, I work there part time so I’ve gotten to see more of the ins and outs of things I’m new so I don’t really have an opinion bias as of yet, and can see through the eyes still of a prior guest I’m still trying to understand the back end storage system, but the first thing I noticed and continue to notice when I walk in is how clean in general the place is in the guest areas at least that I’ve been to so far I’ve worked custodial jobs at other places, and it’s not typical that things appear that clean by the end of the day The attention to detail throughout the day that the staff gives really shows Nobody can ever be 100% perfect, but my first impressions from the culture there so far is that they strive for that, and seem to care about their workers as they care about the guests Even if COVID has altered the way services in most hotels run (as I’ve experienced on travels to other hotels), Kensington places an emphasis on guest care regardless what position their employees hold, and everyone tries to chip in to get things doneSo far my opinion is that I would be comfortable staying at Kensington and would gladly do a reception there again

I keep reading the reviews and see how great the staff was Well, Cody was very helpful I had to speak with management the next day as I was billed $23

00 more than my reservation stated How this person is in Hotel Management? I have no idea Perhaps she was having a bad day, a bad week? She lifted her computer screen up to my level to see what they charged me Now, that being said? Microtel billed my bank 9320 My reservation was for $7700 She would not even attempt to discuss this with me or find the issue Their systems have upgraded recently was the information Cody had given me earlier in the day when I brought that to his attention There had been a $2900 charge for the free night I received from Wyndham using points as a Diamond Member The Manager Joy,’s last words to me? WE could have charged you $10000 more with their new policy WHAT? That is not mentioned on their website or when booking BEWARE, folks,

Rachel Smith

We booked a room for one night we walked in the first room and it was tiny and smelt like BO We tried opening the window to air it out and it didn’t open much Later on we turned the heat on and the room got filled with gas right away

We felt like we where getting bit by somthing all night and we came home and showered and my boyfriend found a bug in his hair Great service though

A quick overnight for us in transit The stay was good The hotel is a little older so the bathrooms are a bit small and a few other give-aways to its age, but pretty well kept

Bed was comfortable, everyone was friendly and we enjoyed a good breakfast in the morning We received friendly service with a smile from Skyler despite being being short staffed Nice to see management pitching in to help!

Sierra Davis

This was my first stay at this hotel It was an overall nice stay The beds were exceptionally comfortable

And the rooms were comfy Ac worked very well and wasn’t too loud We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub However I wasn’t at all impressed with the breakfast For the cost of one night here, you would think that breakfast would be included in the price We were unaware that it was not complimentary It wasn’t clearly marked I was also surprised that there were no vending machines and you had to buy water or soda at the area beside the desk I bought a water and it was 3 dollars Seems a little ridiculous for the amount of money you already pay for the room Also this isn’t the most kid friendly Seems more geared for conventions and business more than family oriented

Morgan Sonstegard

We enjoyed our stay Myah at the front desk was amazing! She was very attentive to my family needs And by the end of our trip she knew the whole family! The restaurants and bar staff were very friendly and timely

Cassandra and Stephanie work hard and provide great service They were attentive to my infant and always topped off my mug with hot coffee I would stay here again Two thumbs up!

This is an extremely nice hotel, and the staff is top-notch! Myself and 2 colleagues ended up here as a last-minute schedule change We were tired and hungry Chris was amazing at check in, even going above and beyond to call the restaurant and have them hold a table for us as they were just about done seating guests for the night

We dropped our bags in our rooms, and headed over for a PHENOMENAL dinner Everything was fantastic, made in house, and our server, Dallas, was also exceptional! This could not have made for a better ending to a long and stressful dayThe rooms were very nice, beds comfortable, and showers SOOO relaxing! The musical mirrors are a nice feature, too! As someone who spends about 150 nights a year in (mostly 4-star) hotels, this is among my best experiences! Thank you Weber’s!

Tracy Schmidt

Very accommodating to special requests! Nice rooms Beds are squishy soft like giant marshmallows If you like that kind of thing it’s perfect

If you like a firm bed do not stay here Giving five stars even though I dislike soft beds, because everything else was great and they were quite nice, and the softness of the bed is probably what most people prefer anyway

Kaycee Brunell

This hotel will always be my favorite, I have been visiting since I was very young with my grandparents (when they had a slide into the pool) My husband took me back last year for my birthday and it was so much fun We loved exploring the hotel, looking at all the famous people that have stayed, the restaurant reminds me of the titanic, the retro game room, and so much more

The pool at night on the adult time is just amazing a relaxing We will be going back soon!

I was in Ann Arbor with my daughter for funeral services I packed hurriedly the next morning When I unpacked the next day I realized I had left precious photographs and called TPSuites

I gave them room# and date; Tanya said she would check lost and found: FOUND! I had left the contents of a drawer (including driving glasses and jewelry bag) Long story short: I got my belongings back via UPS – Terry Bailey took it there and called me with tracking infoI was SO HAPPY to get the box!The accommodations were very pleasant; we were happy to find a table for 4 and a full kitchenette, so my brother and his wife were able to come and be with us the last evening The shopping center was much appreciated; we both had to pick up needed items

Ellen Slomp

Service was lovely from Brandi at the front desk The room was clean, stylish, and relaxing Breakfast included waffles, eggs, bacon, baked goods, yogurts, etc

There were lots of nice touches, like full bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower instead of the sample sizes you typically see Also they have the option to borrow items, like board games, kitchen supplies, and umbrellasIt was a great stay for a great price!

Tre D

Nice clean hotel with great views and clean interior Room had a fridge, dishwasher, and decent closet space Modern feel and very clean

Breakfast was unimpressive, this is the first tie I’ve encountered egg patties Sausage patties were also sub-par and dry Much less than I’m used to at Marriot hotels The shower brain was backed up and the elliptical in the gym seems like its on its last leg But it was an enjoyable stay in a clean hotel

Excellent service, everyone was very kind and thorough We decided on this hotel as we have two small kids, 2 and 4, both love the water The pool here is excellent, great area that is only 1

5-2 ft deep At deepest is 4 ft My kids had a great time at the pool Biggest critique is that the it is quite cold, the room and the water There is an entrance/exit outside from the pool that people are constantly in and out of that didnt help at all We had to take breaks to warm back up, especially my 2 year old Room was standard, clean and comfortable It was quiet at night Recommend to buy one of their combo packages to include breakfast as it is quite expensive otherwise

Benjamin Schmelmer

Great Location and as usual for Garden Inns perfect Service and RoomsI love the Garden Inns for their reasonable Prices and their always Great ComfortAlot of parking Spaces, friendly Personnel and great Breakfast

A big shout out to the entire staff!I Had two rooms at this location for the weekend I could tell they were short staffed,ONLY because I saw the same workers a lot Will was the only front desk person I ever saw the entire time! This said, everything was in good shape and ran smoothly

I had one need/concern and Will addressed it immediately I was very pleased with my stay I will stay here on my future trips to Ann Arbor

Russ Lyons

Friendly, attentive front desk Unfortunately, there is no safe in the room, so I had to use the front desk a lot The mattress is quite firm

The window opens, but it is too hard to reach it because of the desk blocking it The kitchenette is reasonably well equipped The room was clean The bathroom/sink area was poorly designed: there is no towel rack by the sink, which is separated by a door from the shower/toilet Furthermore, that door had a misaligned latch and strike plate, so it could not latch closed The shower enclosure uses a sliding glass door, but it is poorly designed, leaking water on the floor The (bath) sink drains somewhat slowly The fridge buzzes briefly throughout the day and night The ventilation works well but is a bit tricky to understand Air does not circulate from other rooms, which is good The wifi was good I could hear noisy neighbors through the walls (but they were quiet at night) Near good grocery shopping

Cyntha Gale

Updated:Thank you for your quick responseI really appreciate it and have changed my stars to 5Please upgrade the gym

Missing the 15# weights, stationary bike doesn’t function properly It needs some additional equipment The shower enclosure does not close causing water to pool on the floor Needs a hook for hand towel by the bathroom sink Dishwasher latch broken Ice maker not working

I enjoyed my stay here I had fallen a bit sick at the time of my stay and I was looking forward to cast some of my podcast episodes on the TV but the TVs only let you put channels So I found the Office in here and had an okay time

The breakfast given is standard breakfast, with some fresh fruit Needless to say the employees were really great and helpfulCons:- I did find a used coffee cup in my room, but other than that everything was clean- The stand in showers are a bit slippery- Ground floor rooms are directly exposed to the street

Lynn “Pencilmarks”

You cannot beat this location if you want to be within walking distance to all of main campus Have stayed numerous times as had two kids attend Michigan Rooms have been renovated and much improved

Breakfast provided a nice bonus Always great service, very comfortable beds with nice fluffy (plentiful) pillows and crisp white linens Definitely recommend the $20/day valet parking for the total convenience The giant chess game in the window is fun when folks actually try to play Can move a piece each time you walk by But nobody’s perfect 😉 Would be 5 stars if rooms had mini fridge and they could upgrade the elevator service (notoriously slow, ya gotta be patient!) Highly recommend

Christina Lange

Such a cute hidden gem! It was in walking distance to do many great food and shopping locations Stayed here for a overnight getawayBreakfast was amazing and everything in the hotel was very aesthetically pleasing

The employees are kind and very professionalOnly issue I had was the sleep quality The mattress was quite uncomfortable and the pillows are the kind where your head sinks all the way thru Lots of tossing and turning unfortunately But I’d still stay here again regardless

Would give 4 or 5 stars if it were not for a couple things1) I stood in the lobby for a good 5 minutes before being able to check in as no one was at the front desk and there was no bell to ring to get an employee’s attention2) We had a room right next to a maintenance room

4x during our stay, twice in the middle of the night, waking us up, this awful noise that sounded like a hump back whale calling it’s mate alarmed us and continued for at least a minute At checkout, the employee did apologize, but didn’t seem to care that we were disturbed If you get room 218, ask for another room3) Bring your own pillow, which I normally do, but forgot You need like 6 pillows to give you any sort of support Beds were very firm We all woke up with sore backs (me, my husband, and 11yo)Otherwise, the hotel was in a nice area Secluded near some woods Updated and appealing in appearance

I’m always looking for Hotels going “Green” But don’t short change customer comforts Room was clean

Staff was friendly Bathroom had no heat/AC, no wastebasket We, just a couple, were given 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels & 2 towels Shower& each of you use your washcloth next morning you’d like to wash your face but all you have is a dirty washcloth! Dry towels & reuse them but not with a wash cloth Great staff!

The staff was helpful and friendly The lobby area was cleanThe rooms were dirty and moldy

The door of our room didn’t close fully The staff literally took a screwdriver and shoved in the doorway to readjust the hinge Said that this was a common issue in the 40 year old building The mold in the bathroom was awful — even on the ceiling above the toilet There were stains on the floor and cobwebs behind the desk Even the light on the wall was askew, as there was no screw holding on the shade The only thing keeping me from marking this a 1 is the staff They were very good

I inspected our bed and it was satisfactory… that’s where it ended Shortly after we arrived, with our dog now safely in our room, we had dinner in the lobby which was delivered by my daughter and her family She checked in and we proceeded to eat our dinner, as it was getting late, and the boys still wanted to swim

While eating, a guest was extremely unhappy that his personal information was sitting on the counter for all to see…a signed estimate of charges with his drivers license demanding the manager shred it immediately Went up to our room and found one of the towels had tar on it Then discovered that the door to the pool is not secured by a room key Anyone could walk in and use the indoor pool because we later discovered that the exterior doors were unsecured as well And, should a child gain access , get hurt or heaven forbid, drown, the hotel would be held liable for not having the pool entry secured Later, while the boys were swimming, we discussed the potential for identity theft at the front desk and my daughter says there were two signed sheets with drivers license sitting on the counter which she moved further away so others would not see them When we got up the following morning, discovered a footprint in the bathtub and the bottom of the tub appeared that it had not been cleaned…it looked like mildew stuck to the tub The toilet was also wobbly like it was installed incorrectly Breakfast on the second morning was a joke! We arrived in the lobby 15 minutes before breakfast was to end Nothing for protein… no yogurt, no bacon or sausage, no milk No bread for toast, no bagels, no muffins, no fruit There were no condiments like butter, jam or syrup There was a little cereal but no milk There was only batter to make waffles, but no forks or knives to eat them with and nothing to put on them So, for $150/night at a 2 star hotel with NO breakfast And if you want to know why reviews give this hotel 46 stars, read them very closely because the reviews regarding airport shuttle outweigh hotel stays 3 to 1!!! So, to top it all off, parking was almost non existent They allow people to use their parking lot to park and shuttle to and from the airport, without staying at the hotel, and personally provide the shuttle service Vehicles were parked along the entire drive where it clearly states no parking due to the fact that emergency vehicles must have access This is a clear violation of local fire marshal ordinances and I’m sure they would be interested to know this is happening I notified the staff members on the first morning of our 2 night stay and upon checkout, of all of this I wish I was a mouse to know if anything has been addressed!

We were in town for a funeral, so we weren’t going to be using some if the listed amenities That was a good thing, golf course closed for renovation, no mention of that on the website when I was booking the room Lots of construction in process to do an upgrade to the facility

The waterfall garden was very nice and the church/chapel is beautiful Our room was very nice, but to get room temperature below 74 had to set to 69 degrees, then set at 71 when it was almost too cool Temperature in the room then went back up to 74, too warm Obviously there is a problem with the thermostat, didn’t bother to complain because we were really in the room a short timeEveryone at the desk and the steakhouse was friendly and helpful

Always look forward to photographing weddings here because the venue not only treats their couples/guests great, but also the vendors! The ladies are awesome before the ceremony, they fluff the dress and handle everything so the photographer can focus on capturing the moments The manager in charge during the reception space was so helpful, asking if we, the wedding vendors, needed anything and assisted promptly whenever asked a question They are great at transitioning guests from ceremony, to cocktail hour to reception making it for a great experience! Not to mention, the hotel rooms are great for getting ready photos and the outdoor spaces provide ample location opportunities for photos giving the couple a variety without having to travel!

I was here to take advantage of the Taste of Plymouth event that The Inn at St John’s hostedI was not a guest of the hotel and I did not dine in the hotel restaurantI gave a positive review because the facility is beautiful and historic and it is very well maintained and there are lovely plantings and water features and things to see and enjoy

If you ever have the opportunity to come for Taste of Plymouth, it’s a great chance to try as much as little as you like of a lot of different restaurants and I was told to come hungry and I went away very full
