Lovely little retreat! So cozy The room was cute and updated, and the grounds were beautiful! Easy access, easy check-in Friendly staff

There is a train station nearby, which you could occasionally hear, and the A/C unit was a little noisy I sleep through anything typically, so it didn’t bother me My wife is a light sleeper, so she was aware of itStill, the great outweighed the not so good Would definitely be back, and recommend for others!

Heather Ann

Great little motel Clean, amazing bed non toxic cleaners

I am sensitive to harsh chemicals No harsh chemicals here My only complaint is the noise above and poor insulation so I heard people walking above me If you are sensitive to sound, go for a top floor I stayed in King Deluxe room; very nice overall Even the bathtub has a grab bar I will definitely stay here again

The cabin was nice and the beds are goodThe cabin had a decent fresh smellThere wasn’t enough towels to accommodate the number of people visiting

The microwave was spotted up with greaseThe floors were dirty and we didn’t locate a broom or mop Maybe there was one in the unit but we didn’t see it Overall I’d come back because it’s a nice place to stay in a rural area away from the metropolitan areas

Joe Doxie

My girlfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to Big Bear and came across Grey Squirrel Resort when looking for weekend lodging We found everything we were looking for at Grey Squirrel Comfortable and clean accommodations, a well maintained pool, wonderful grounds and landscape, a rustic feel with a modern vibe

The entire weekend was pleasant, and we attribute that to Grey Squirrel Resort Their location is perfect to explore Big Bear and the Lake It’s the type of place you want to make part of a tradition; plan stays with family and friends, and then return with just your lover for romantic retreats

Joellen Hutchins

Our experience Terrible We stayed in the cabin called the Honeymoon Cabin for our 15 year anniversary, and it was definitely not very romantic at all The room smell strongly of smoke, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable

I woke up each morning with a sore back and a terrible cramp in my neck Also, we were warned that the wall heater would make sounds at night when the metal expanded, BUT OH MY GOODNESS!! The first time it the sound happened it was around 11:30pm and it woke us up from a dead sleep We actually thought at first that someone had shot a gun on the premises until we heard it again an hour later So basically every hour or so we would be woken up by this loud BANG! Needles to say we were supposed to stay for 3 nights and choose to only torture ourselves for 2 Even though we lost out on the money for the 3rd night we left We do not recommend this location if you enjoy your sleep

I am not a fan of leaving 1 star reviews but our stay at the Ayres Hotel was one of the worst experiences staying in hotels I have ever experiencedUpon arrival we were greeted by a security guard who let us in to the lobby (we arrived late), check-in went well, and the overall atmosphere and decor of the Hotel looked great! I was excited, it appears well kept and clean -Which it isNight 1 our stay went well, the next morning we decided to go visit family, and as such we left our card on the door that says do not disturb

( we didnt want our beds made and we were fine on towels ) We came back to our hotel that late afternoon to discover that the staff STILL entered our room I noticed the cash I had on my nightstand was also missing ( it was only 3 or 4 dollars ) I made all of us go through our personal belongings to make sure I we didn’t accidentally take the cash off the nightstand -We didn’tI went to the front counter to express my concern that we left the sign on the door, and that the staff had still entered I informed the front desk person “Cody” that I think we had the cleaning staff enter our room when we did not want it, and we are missing 3 or 4 dollars, not a big deal but the principal behind it was why I wanted to lodge a complaintWe later found out that my wife’s brand new slippers also went missing that day Cody did his best to try to be understanding but offered no resolution other than “sorry that happened to you , I will inform our manager” And that was that I emailed their manager and have received 0 response My next step is to contact their corporate office to at least let them know of this unsavory behavior in hopes the sticky handed staff will be busted Aside from the theft it is a pretty nice hotel

We were in town for my parents funeral and we were recommended here by Miller-Jones Mortuary I was not disappointed!! I have a difficult time staying at hotels because i used to manage a hotel for many years so the last few hotels we stayed at were a disappointment But NOT here

the front desk staff was super courteous, the rooms were very clean, even the towels (which are what I always look at to determine the cleanliness) had no spots!!! Floors and carpets were clean (no stains) and the hallways and room smelled fresh Definately be coming back here next time we are in California!!

Joanne Douds

Loved staying at the Ares for a four day wedding! Staff was professional and friendly, rooms were large and well apointed Loved having a kitchen area in room with microwave, small refrigerator and coffee machineBreakfast was plentiful, I would suggest they add a high brand non fat Greek yoghert to replace the brand they currently have

Wonderful in every way!

I’ve stayed in lots of hotels across the country and have enjoyed my stay here more than any other in recent years, including the local Hampton Inn & Suites nearby This was comparable, but without the waffles This Comfort Suites is shopping, restaurant and freeway close without being too noisy

The area is nice with friendly people The hotel itself is nice, clean and quiet Didn’t hear any dogs or kids, which is a plus! Room and bed were clean and comfy At check in and throughout my stay, Alex at the front desk was friendly, hospitable, very professional and accommodating The pool was clean and well-kept, as was the spa; both were spacious, and I got to swim by myself a few times without anyone else in the pool and patio area Patio has shade and sun; however, currently, there’s construction going on on the other side of the patio fence between the hotel and freeway Overall, a 10 stay and I will definitely return! Thanks, Alex!

Very dirty hotel! They seem to pride themselves on being “unassuming”Upon checking in, I was asked for my bookingcom confirmation number

I showed my confirmation email and with that information, they were able to cancel my reservation and rebook directly through the hotel This also prevented me from leaving a review on bookingcomI didn’t realize until after checking out and was looking to leave a reviewWhen asking for an early check-in or late departure, they try to charge you $50 regardless of availability When you decline, they act like they are doing you a huge favor by accommodating you anywaysThey were stingy with their pool towels and extra pillows which were many years past their expiration Yet they let homeless people come in and take all of the breakfast foodTheir pool was covered in slimy algae Lighting was dim It felt like a dank basementSofa bed was in dire need of being replaced It felt like springs between two sheets Closet door was busted so it couldn’t be opened Wallpaper was peeling Some outlets didn’t work The shower walls were badly stainedEverything was tired and dirty Front desk staff are hardly around You have to yell for someone to get their attention Very obvious this hotel is poorly managed

Pauline Skaggs

Yes, the room reeked of cumin!!! We left the window open several days in a row! The hallway smelled awful, too! Room 312, on the third floor Avoid it like the plague! Breakfast was a sack with a juice, a granola bar The hotel clearly states hot breakfast on it’s site

Their cafe was sealed shut with two closed doors with a landscape painting A party of 5 people were upset as they had to provide an additional meal they hadn’t planned on Cutting corners everywhere! Don’t stay here!!

Comfortable with a few little issues The room phone wasn’t working We were trying to call the front desk to report that the toilet (which we hadn’t used yet) was clogged

Also, the mini fridge was frosted over & stopped working, until we thawed it outI still gave it 4 stars though because they include a nice continental breakfast, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the staff was nice, & it’s a nice area to stay

Mitchell R

I’d like to start this review with the best part of our experience, Lindsey (the receptionist) was extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating helping to rectify a booking mistake on my part The room is beautiful, large, very clean, and easily accessible The room came stocked with a variety of quality Neutrogena products

We will definitely be staying here again First choice of hotels near the Morongo casino!***NEXT DAY EDIT***Best continental breakfast I’ve ever had, and they accommodated a late checkout!

We had requested a room away from the highway because of the noise We arrived late at night and we’re assigned a very noisy room In addition the air conditioner did not work

However, we were allowed to switch to a quiet room with a functional AC unit the next day The front desk staff were helpful in solving this issue The rooms were clean and comfortable The rest of the public areas(elevators, entrance, pool and breakfast area) were totally unkept I realize that there is a shortage of help; but I would think cleanliness would be important especially with COVID still a factor

We booked with Holiday Inn Express in Beaumont for our wedding guests at Serendipity this pass June and was so happy we went with them! They were very easy to work with and accommodated all the details needed so our guests felt welcome and well rested They delivered welcome bags (we provided) to each guests checking in It was easy coordinating with them and great to work with

TEMPLAR SECURITY

Great experience We fit 3 adults in a room with a single bed Slept on the sofa-sleeper

Not bad at all This is if you’re pinching pennies If you don’t mind spending a little extra, you’ll have extra space But regardless of your room, the service is great Amazing breakfast selection Good coffee and tea Bacon, eggs, biscuits All of it

Probably would of gave them a 5 star review but the breakfast was not good The room was awesome and the staff was great! I would recommend someone doing a check on the food every 30 minutes or every hour Seemed like the food had been sitting a long time

The coffee was cold The eggs looked really bad, like they were made hours ago I think having an attendant to keep an eye on the freshness of the food would be good! Just didn’t seem fresh and the selection was very basic

Tipphany Peterson

Rooms were large and comfortable They seemed to be new or newly renovated There were a few spots in the hallway that seemed to be being worked on

My only concerns were there was no house keeping unless requested We were there for over three days The breakfast was also sketchy Although the breakfast times is listed as 6 til 9, by 830 there were no waffles available When the front desk representative ( which i believe was the manager) was asked she stated breakfast was until supplies last!!

Thomas W

I came here only because I had nowhere else to go Was looking for an overnight stay at a hotel that was pet-friendly and had available rooms This was the only hotel I found that was worth reserving

The room I got was great No complaints The lady who did our check-in at night when we arrived was nice I give this hotel 3 stars because the lady who came in the morning told me that since my dog was not a service dog, we were not supposed to have been allowed to book a room at the hotel So basically, I was lucky that this lady had not been working night shift (we had arrived at night) or else we would not have had anywhere to go She told me that we could not bring out pet dog to the hotel again So what does “pet friendly” mean? Only allowing service dogs? We have a small dog that is very friendly and clean and we consider our dog part of our family He just isn’t a “service” dog Additionally, $150 to bring your pet in? You’re kidding me The price of the room was a bit expensive, but it was also pretty big so that’s fair, but that much to bring a pet? They should just remove the “pet friendly” label from their hotel description

A wonderful way to experience Big Bear by staying in your own private cabin! The grounds were well equipped for sports and activities for kids, clean, and rustic Our cabin was a two story loft style and quite cozy Very quiet too

It had all the basic furniture, was clean and mostly comfortable (chairs and couch not so much) We didn’t spend too much time in the room so that didn’t bother usThe only reason I didn’t give a five star was that the amenities were minimal for the bathroom Kitchen was great – everything you could imagine usingThe bathroom lacked kleenex, shampoo and conditioner, and most importantly for safety concerns, an anti-slip shower mat for inside the bathtub/shower It was very slippery so we put a towel inside so we wouldn’t fall! We went to the Dollar Tree to buy the essentials and left them for the next guests

Melissa Trevino

Booking the cottage online through their website was very easy I experienced no difficulties checking in Staff at the front desk was extremely friendly

I didn’t need anything extra for my stay, the cottage had everything I needed My only complaint would have to be the blinds Some couldn’t open because they were missing the wand or strings and some didn’t fit the windows (length) The ones that were too small were in the bedrooms, so there was light from outside lights all night I would suggest window treatments such as curtains Other than that I had a great stay and will definitely stay there again in the near future!

Damien Roberts

The hosts were very nice, extremely accommodating! They gave my family and I an excellent deal on two cabins, as they didn’t have one big enough for my entire group The only reason I didn’t give them all 5 stars is because of parking (there isn’t any space for more than 4 vehicles for a cabin that sleeps 18)

When we checked out, the man gave me a $100 check good for any return for the rest of the year! I couldnt have asked for a better time in Big Bear Lake Thumbs up to Golden Bear Cottages 🐻

Third week in a row staying here for 3 weekdays at a time For the price its very good, better than most peers Clean, friendly staff, quiet rooms

Area is not great, yet felt as safe,or better, as most $100+ a night place I did not see any homeless or shady people around Only ding, is breakfast is limited to 7 to 9, and is a brown bag of various choices, to take back to room to eat Rooms appropriate size, bathroom a little tight, but clean and usable Did not see any mold or gunk on carpet as indicated by several “local guides” And no smell of smoke in any of the 3 rooms I stayed in Not a local guide, just a well traveled Dude

Neyirys

I’ve seen crack houses in better condition then this hotel We arrived at 1am and there were already homeless people sitting outside asking for help Upon entering the hotel it smelled like feces

The male receptionist didn’t great us with a smile The keys to our room did not work The room smelled like mold We left in the morning and there was no breakfast left The bathroom was filled with mold and we had broken furniture in our room unsafe for our children This place needs better management and staff This is a $70 hotel at the most yet we paid double

Jasmine

If I could give 0 stars I would The room was absolutely filthy and the entire hotel smells like smoke It honestly looked like someone had just made the bed and that was it

The bed was covered in long black hair from the guest who occupied it before us and down the side of the bed sheets was a nasty brown streak There was hair on the bathroom floor as well as the fact that the tub was surrounded with mold The walls also had a sticky substance on them I would stay far away from this hotel

Beautiful hotel! The staff was very friendly and professional The chef was so nice and talkative My room was clean, smelled nice and a good temperature

Their complimentary breakfast seemed way to nice and tasty to be a “complimentary” breakfast My only complaint if I had to find one would be that the area seemed just a little sketch Not bad, just not super great I’m not from the area so I could be totally off Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area

I loved my stay it was the last thing me and my boyfriend are going to do because he is going to have surgery and won’t be able to go out for while so it was really special to me, this hotel stay it was clean and organized The staff was friendly and kind

The bed was really comfortable firm but soft enough The pillows were my favorite I truly enjoyed my stay thank you very much I will always cherish this trip

This was our first time visiting this hotel Booked this place because of its ratings and proximity to University of Redlands The people who greeted us were very helpful and pleasant

Our accommodations were quite pleasingcomfortable beds and an ample desk to work on What really surprised us was the breakfast next day My wife had ordered an omelet and had requested it to be cooked “well done” She cut into it, and it was not done correctly She inquired if they might be able to cook it more, was toldno Much to our surprise, the chef came over and asked if he could assist, we explained the situation, and left it at that Shortly afterwards, he arrives with a new omelet, well doneand my wife enjoyed it Little details like this make a big difference in creating a loyal customer We are most definitely coming back again Thanks for your people’s efforts, this was a pleasure to respond in a most positive way 😎👍👍👍👍

We had an amazing time celebrating our wedding at this stunning venue Harris was great to work with and we couldn’t have imagined a better place get married at We also had a lot of family and friends come in from overseas so the house with all the bedrooms and cottages were a perfect fit for a fun weekend stay

We highly recommend this beautiful place and would do it all over again 🙂

James Peng

My wedding party and I stayed at Khyra Beaucrest Ranch for my wedding at Serendipity Gardens, about 10 minutes up the hill Our wedding would not have been the same without Harris and the Ranch It is so close to the venue while also offering a ton of space and common areas for the wedding party to hang out and relax before and after the event

The property is huge, beautiful, and super comfortable, and Harris is responsive, friendly, and very accommodating Though we did not get married at Khyra Beaucrest Ranch, I imagine it would be a great venue as well, but was a truly incredible stay for getting married at Serendipity

Andrew Smart

We had an amazing stay at Khyra Beaucrest Ranch The Mansion was fantastic and so comfortable The kitchen was very large and perfect for cooking

Our plush bedroom had a great ensuite bathroom The panoramic views are incredible, there are 15 acres of grounds and the swimming pool was refreshing and relaxing I look forward to returning!

BUG INFESTATION! the owners were terrible and wanted to spray INSECTICIDES with us in the room they offered a refund then rescinded the offer they tried to offer us another room, then charges us for fire wood TO HEAT that room

feel free to ask any questions i will gladly answer them they made our anniversary/wedding proposal a terrible weekend mostly due to their uncaring responses! book elsewhere, anywhere else!!!! i wish there was a negative rating! ask any locals and find out what a piece of dirt the owner is i incurred many additional expenses, relocation, had to eat out, have all our linens sanitized for bugs! tried to salvage my proposal weekend

We just recently stayed for the fourth of July and we really enjoyed our stay! Amazing location! We had a problem with the gas leaking in our cabin and the owner had someone try and fix it and was communicating with us directly throughout the trip Unfortunately the gas never got fixed, otherwise I would say this would be 5 stars! This is a basic cabin for a camping like experience, but definitely got the job done! We will definitely be back when looking to experience Big Bear Lake again

Zeldon Huckaby

Absolutely loved staying in these cabins with our family ! They were so cozy and centrally located to everything big bear lake had to offer The staff with booking / during our stay was so friendly and helpfulMy family can not wait to revisit in the winter !! It was an alright hotel Not terrible, but not great eitherThe blankets weren’t as clean as I had hoped

(Not terrible just a few small black stains on one of the beds)The hotel worker at the front had kids they brought to work, taking care of them and trying to operate the hotel at the same timeTheir situation may or may not be intentional, but it is still unprofessional and takes away from the customer service of the businessBathroom was very clean and spaciousTV worked well and had many channelsHad a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker as well all clean and in working orderThe breakfast was good Pre-made omelet, and bacon, (not crunchy), among grab and go’s such as muffins, orange juice, and coffee

Nice clean hotel Great location Close proximity to shopping and restaurants

Only problem is they advertised truck and bus parking which usually means they have ample amount of parking space for commercial trucks and buses, which was not the case Parking is very limited Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay Would definitely recommend

I believe the manager I was speaking to during check in was named Christian He went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as pleasant as possible As a person who travels frequently, it has been rare to find such gentleman, and professional qualities in the hospitality business~ I will add the quality of the room was also top notch

It will be a pleasure to stay here again on my next visit Thank you~

Nice facility Casino is clean and well managed Payouts on slots seem slim but table games can get you back on track with a basic knowledge of the games

Food choices are decent and there is no bad food to be had Floor staff are always present and helpfulValet or Self Parking with easeWorth a visit or stay Outlet Stores are very close and everything is freeway adjacentI look forward to staying in the hotel for a 3 day weekend to give an expanded review

We are not regulars here just passing throughI thought it was very clean, And definitely a lively casino with a lot of patrons Look like it had some good dining choices

Never made it past the casino floor to any of the rooms Security wouldn’t let us view the pool area Staff at the store we stopped in was very nice

I went to the Morongo Casino and Spa with friends and had a great time This hotel, casino, and spa, is a world class destination in a beautiful setting in the California desert The hotel tower rises like a Phoenix in the desert, and there’s a gorgeous pool and spa

It was snowing in the mountains the day I visited and it was cold outside while it was warm in the casinoThe gaming floor is huge and a high tech wonder! All the slot machines are video based with colorful displays that are amazing You can gamble a penny, a nickel, quarter, dollar, a ten, or twenty on up In other words, there is something for everyoneThere’s plenty to do! With slots and table games including blackjack, video poker, and several bars and a multitude of restaurants, you never have to leave If you do want to explore, one of the largest outlet malls in the United States is right next door, and there’s a Starbucks right there too Plus Palm Springs/Hollywood East is just 20 minutes away by carAdmittedly, I’m not a gambler, though me and my gambling friends had fun at the Morongo Casino! Be sure to visit and tell them Roy sent you! Cheers!
