A great location right in the center of town Far enough from the freeways so there’s little noise but close enough for easy travel The rooms are well decorated and very clean

Large gym if you’re in to that thing lol Pool has lots of seating and plenty of shade Full continental breakfast was better than Denny’s Staff was lovely and accommodating from the GM on down The GM told me he wished we were staying longer so his little stuff could play with ours I told him that his pet area was perfect Definitely would stay again

I enjoyed my stay, although I only was there to sleep It was okay fot the price, the room was great The greeter for night time check in was absolutely rude, he was an older gentleman

We couldn’t really hear him because he was mumbling, we politely asked if he could repeat and he yelled at us Not okay Wanted to say something but I was too exhausted from being at the hospital with my new bornBreakfast was OK Was very little choicesOther than that beds were comfortable Bathroom was beautiful And it was clean

Very nice place, VERY quiet on the bay side City view will be of the freeway King bay side room was spacious with nice view and a balcony

We were here almost a week, breakfast was a disappointment (biscuit sandwich, made fresh) final day they brought back waffles YEAH! Be aware this is not a nice neighborhood, they charge $15/night parking to pay for a security guard (be glad they do)We would stay here again:knowing we would not go out after darkdon’t leave anything in your carleave the area during the day

Update on 6-15-2022 Pool and hot tub are closed by the health department No ETA given for when the pool and hot tube might reopen

This is main reason we chose the hotel This is a very nice hotel and very close to the water Parking Security at night which is a bonusUpdate on 6-17 the pool and hot tub are open, and the hot tub is actually warm

Adrianne’s life hacks Wiliamson

Love it here great staff and perfect location its so nice to have a full size fridge and cook top in the room laundry onsite and nice spacious bathroom bedroom and the couch bed for the little guy two TV’s and good size table to eat and prepare food perfect spot to get away with a 1st grader and at a reasonable price couldn’t be more pleased Only reason not a five star is there is always room for new surprises Love it here would recommend to everyone

Ok after coming several times I have run into my first problem it seems the police like to cruise the parking lot running plates then sit on the street and wait for you to leave and pull you over the harassment alone has detoured my last two bookings somewhere else I was really feeling this place until then🤦🤷😔

This is by far the worst hotel experience I have had in my entire life Starting from the rude staff to the disgusting room to the difficulty of getting cancellation for my second night! Starting from check in the girl at the front desk was so rude and lying (saying there were no more rooms although it mentioned otherwise on their website and expedia or booking, the exact same room! This ended up to be the manager) Ended up getting a disgusting room with spider webs on the bathroom walls, food on the floor, stains and holed on the sofa bed mattress, holes in the curtains, even the tv remote was missing buttons

There was paper work in our room in the bathroom when we checked in!! So obviously this room was never cleaned before we set foot in it! We went and told the manager and she said sorry thats it! We felt disgusted in this room, unsafe and we spent a horrible night trying to get through with expedia to cancel the second night because we were not sleeping a second night in this! The hotel and expedia both gave us a very hard time over this both mentioning that the other has the upper hand and we didn’t sleep even a couple of hours I paid for a worst night ever and even then when I cancelled the second night the hotel insisted that they were never contacted by expedia and expedia is saying the oppositie Such a terrible experience I would not ever recommend this hotel to anyone and especially if you have kids!!

Extremely pleased with the room Terrific shower with great water pressure, the best toilet of any hotel I’ve visited and the room was freshly remodeled with a modern feel I found a bed to be comfortable and the desk was great to work from

Only minor grievances I had was you could slightly hear the people walking in the room above you owe that could very well be inconsiderate occupants I’d also like to see a master switch at the door to turn off all the lightsOverall I was very pleased I will definitely use this hotel again

sam graydon

Everything is great, nice and clean Only problem is the morning coffee situation Apparently coffee used to be complimentary but now they’re charging for it, which is fine I guess but every time you go to get a coffee you have to ask someone at the front desk and it takes them like ten minutes to figure out where the cups, creamer, etc are

Every other hotel I’ve ever stayed at treats coffee like a staple – here for some reason it’s way too complicated

Thalia Oliver

I CALLED THIS LOCATION AND ASKED ABOUT MY RETURNING DEPOSIT SINCE IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED $0 DEPOSIT BACK IF YOU PAY WITH A DEBIT CARD the employee Jeremy QUOTED IT TAKES 1-2 months of a return of a $100 deposit??? I wonder if this is illegal I don’t recommend this hotel as they are getting interest off people deposit

Great clean rooms, stayed in 310 on the freeway side Didn’t bother us but if you’re a sensitive sleeper ask for the opposite side of the building Nice breakfast seating area and very lot’s of choices

Cereal, yogurt, coffee, juices, pastries, a couple hot choices( we had omelette and sausage), and a cool automatic pancake maker- just press the button and Voila! Maybe a little more expensive than most but we’re just visiting family after moving out of state; so we’re not doing the tourist trip We’re spending a little more time in our room Check it out! Nice staff and Safe area too!

It is a great facility, nice receptionistsBut the biggest complaint is that there was no security I was coming from LA for grad school and planned on staying at the hotel before moving into my apartment

I had very expensive valuables like my computer and colognes and other items sitting in my carThe following night my car was broken into from the rear windows and was robbed of my valuablesUnion city is really a garbage city I had called the police and they didn’t show up The hotel had surveillance cameras but then told me they weren’t functioning There should be a security guard in a city like thisThis was my introduction to union city I have noticed there are a lot of shady characters walking behind the hotelI did not stay safe at this hotel and left the following day to the HamptonThere was a sign that said don’t keep items in the car but it wasn’t as obvious I obviously wasn’t looking for a sign and I knew nothing of this city I did not expect this was going to happenHonestly consider looking elsewhere for a hotel!!

Josh Salvage

This hotel is always clean and most important comfortable Nice towels super comfy beds and some rooms have a small couch and nice desk area I’d recommend staying here anytime your within 20 miles of this location and need a decent place to stay

Be ware parking is free but don’t leave anything visible in the car, car break ins occur in this area are frequent

Joseph Avins

My standards are modest, yet the nicer a place is overall, the more small shortcomings stand out This place is very nice overall, so here are a couple of minor shortcomings The breakfast is cooked to order, which is great

But on my first morning I was in a bit of a hurry, so I’d rather have had a grab and go option On the other morning I left time for breakfast; I ordered my eggs over medium and the whites were runny anyhow, and the toast was only toasted on one side The TV service was very limited, like something out of the 90s but wide screen (That’s becoming a pet peeve with me, nice hotels with lousy TVs) To be clear, everything else was terrific

This hotel is good, but needs to be renewed ASAPI was staying at the hotel for the past 3 years and the staff is amazing Super friendly and always there to support you

The food is good too – Breakfast and In-room serviceThe rooms needs to be renewed Looks pretty oldThe excellent thing is the pass to the BAY CLUB GYM Is an amazing place if you need to workoutThe food around is good as well You can find good restaurants to eat around the hotel and a mall if you need something to your trip

T Bessard

Nice double tree right off the 580 and close to the outlets and plenty of food options You have access to a large fitness facility which is also nice They offer a breakfast buffet and have a bar on premise

Nice facility with a decent sized outdoor pool I didn’t take many pictures but I’ll share the lobby and the pool The beds aren’t comfortable but they have soft down pillows that help

Stacy Fellows

Nice and clean hotel Loved the Hilton app to check-in and choose my room Loved being able to walk in and go straight to me room without having to go to front desk to check-in

Did not love the digital key Wanted to love the digital key, because I love technology when it works But it didn’t work very well Not sure why I let the hotel know after our stay Next time I’ll stop by front desk to get a physical key just in case

Night desk help was very helpful and friendly, morning team seemed to be bothered by us checking out Especially the gentleman that kept coming out from the back office! Stayed both before we flew out and when we returned We had the same experience both times

Hotel is being renovated (really needed!,) so some rooms are nicer than others Great water pressure and lots of hot water! Could be the morning staff deals with construction complaints more than night crews and thus the grumpiness First night was on the first floor, Window locks didn’t work Was a little worried since the hotel has a giant security fence around the perimeter No maintenance staff for the evening so we used what was there to secure it Slept better on the plane the next day LOL! Very convenient to the airport and understand hotel is being renovated I am sure it will be back to what is was in no time

Southwest Airlines screwed 56 of its customers and put most of us up in this hotel The hotel was fast, efficient, and had two people working the front desk once we finally got to the hotel They had a small free shuttle to and from the airport and given there were so many of us rescheduled to fly out at 6am the next morning, provided uber rides to ensure that their guests arrived back at the airport on time, early the next morning

They provided us with comfy beds, a hot shower, and had a quick grab-and-go breakfast ready with hot coffee Kudos to the two PM workers and especially the night shift front desk staff member who worked his tail off to ensure a smooth morningThank you for making our unanticipated stay a little more bearable

Jacqueline Villaver

We checked in around 5:30 pm on Sunday May 8, and found out that the shampoo, shower gel and coffee condiments (sugar, cream, etc) were not refilled We asked the front desk for refills but unfortunately, the housekeeping was gone for the day

However she was kind enough to give us a shampoo in a plastic cup I haven’t experienced this on other Holiday Inn Express locations The breakfast was good but that’s about it I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this hotel when we visit Oakland again

Comfortable bed The desk is a little narrow which is important for my work trips Friendly staff

No complaints with other amenities (towels, soaps, shower) I’d recommend this place Valet was reasonably fast With the exception of the coffee shop attached to the hotel, there are good dining options within walking distance Regarding coffee shop, black coffee was bitter and if I didn’t need the boost I would have poured it out I can also appreciate/understand that some places have to mark up food prices, but $4 for a grocery store cup of yogurt is excessive I should have stuck with the $6 breakfast burrito

Jess Brant

This review is difficult to write because certain aspects of the hotel are great and others are notRoom – We stayed in the nicest sweet with the exception of the penthouse, we stayed in the Jack London Suite Great size room

great layout however there are quite a few issues with the room First off the bed is extremely uncomfortable to the point where we cut our stay short by one night because we could not get a good night’s rest Second issue the sofa bed our daughter was going to sleep on was zip tied shut (no exaggeration) During our stay there was also a shortage of pillows and blankets For the room we could only get four total pillows and three blankets when I called down During my travels this is the first time there has been a shortage on pillows and blankets Another issue I had during our stay our room was never cleaned or turned downStaff – The staff is great!Location – Location is great very close to the ferry that takes you across the bay to San FranOverall review as others have stated on here, you are better off staying at a different hotel which isn’t dated/worn down The amount we spent during our stay, we also paid for the last night we didn’t even stay in the hotel Despite me bringing the issues to management there was a lack of a empathy

Paige M

The locations and views are wonderful Staff is friendly I upgraded my room and that’s where the issues started

The first room’s heat did not work We were moved to another room It was just dirty, which I noticed the next day after our late night move I brought it to front desk attention, but the report there was really nothing they could do I have reached out to Hyatt It looks so nice online and lobby is adorable Just frustrating!Edit: manager reached out and was very helpful

Awesomebrix

This hotel is great The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable The staff are very friendly and very helpful

The breakfast is a full, hot breakfast as of now (July 2022) and it has plenty of options The only downside is how far away from San Francisco it is, but it is within walking distance from a BART train stop that can take you all the way into the city I overall highly recommend this hotel

Jenni Reich

Recently we had a wedding at Lake Chabot and we stayed here along with our out-of-town guests (6 rooms total) We were extremely pleased with everything Rooms were great, breakfast was great (we loved the pancake maker), and we had one RV in the group and they were permitted to park near the parking lot exit with no issue, which was awesome

(There is a parking garage underneath the hotel and maybe ten spaces next to the building, so parking could get tight if they were really busy, but we had no issues) One evening our group wanted to gather in the breakfast area just to sit and be social, and the staff had no problem with us using the space, and moving a few tables and chairs (which we put back when finished) They even turned on extra lights for us Overall, we were all very satisfied with our stay Fresh popcorn daily and warm cookies one evening were a bonus! The pool was open and clean and used by a few in our group Reserving the rooms initially was a headache because the manager does not return phone calls (my only gripe) However, the front desk gal was able to take care of everything for the booking, including the group rates and individual confirmation numbers for each room Easy peasy Thoroughly satisfied customer!

Staff was absolutely wonderful especially since I arrived at 2am I was here for a family medical emergency the night staff remembered my name even enquiring about my son’s health I appreciated the thoughtfulness

The room was clean spacious and most of all the bed comfortable Pool and hot tub were relaxing I am an older woman, was alone, the complex was safe Recommend to anyone anytime I forgot to take pictures but it is beautiful

Kelly Lavadie

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfortable that I actually researched purchasing one online The staff was responsive to our needs

They did have a shortage of staff so we opted to have limited/no cleaning services during our stay, but this wasn’t problematic I would love to stay in this hotel again in the future

Joanne Loh

More like a 35Pros: Clean, spacious room with nice check-in people

Cons:1) Someone tried to enter my room (I can only assume and hope it was the cleaners) at 8:30am Luckily the door was dead-bolted, because they actually managed to open the door Cleaners need to be better trained to not try and barge into rooms without warning, because the checkout time is 11am or later anyway2) Layout of hotel is pretty confusing and its a large hotel Only one elevator at one end of the building so you’d either have to strategically park at that side entrance, walk a lot or take the stairs3) Parking should really be included in the room rate, rooms are already pricey

I’m writing this review for my cousin He was treated very badly! I don’t think this is a word but that’s the point to what happen last night My cousin said he came in around check in to check in on the room

(Pablo) said that the room wasn’t ready So my cousin went and chilled in the parking lot Than went back inside and had Pablo ran his card but the moral of the story is he didn’t get a room Make sure you don’t deal with Pablo If you were having a bad day please don’t take it out others

After a long day of travel, we arrived at the hotel very late at night via the complimentary airport shuttle bus We were warmly greeted by the front desk clerk who asked us to make ourselves comfortable as she helped another family secure a room for the night Apparently, the family’s reservation at another hotel had fallen through, but she was able to help

She was kind and mindful of the late hour and serviced everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible In no time, we were all checked in, given room keys and on our way to enjoying our comfortable, spacious and clean rooms So glad we chose Comfort Inn & Suites

Chris M

Good hotel The front desk staff was hilarious The rooms were clean and very nice

The TV had soccer so I could watch the World Cup games One of the elevators needs a little maintenance It’s a bit old, but felt safe The area is a little sketchy and the hotel is hard to find from the street That is my only gripe with it Parking and WiFi was included which is great!

I have spent many nights at this location and the biggest issue we have ran into was housekeeping After putting in a request for our room to be cleaned, it took about 3 days for housekeeping to finally come and clean our room This wasn’t an isolated incident This happened on multiple occasionsThe rooms need maintenance One time our heater was working but the AC was not The other time we had to change rooms because the toilet wouldn’t flushThe elevator also needs some kind of maintenance It’s scary! It shakes and rattles

The first room they put us in smelled horrible like someone dumped tons of powdered carpet cleaner everywhere Infact the whole second floor smelled like this to the point that your eyes and sinuses start shutting down after a few minutes The front desk was helpful and moved us to a new room

The rooms are the cheapest low grade rooms I’ve ever seen in a Marriott w plastic fixtures and hospital type lights that come on at sink and bathroom The beds were decent AC controls are in the wall unit and tan either too cold or off Would never stay here again

This hotel continues to be my “go to” whenever I need a restful place to stay The rooms are quite spacious, the beds comfortable, the towels and lines a notch above average

right down to the items in the kitchen area Plenty of desk surface for laptop and/tablet, well lighted, and unlike some of this chain’s competitors the tv is adjustable so that one might enjoy it from a variety of sitting choicesThe breakfast buffet has decent options, the coffee strong without a whisper of bitternessI can’t speak highly enough of the staff here, from front desk to each level of service person they are friendly, responsive and make the stay that much brighter

Clean, comfortable king bed in room 340 Our teenager gives the fold out soda bed 2 1/2 stars Plentiful, easy, self-parking ($10 charge)

The included breakfast was adequate (oatmeal, cold cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage links, pancakes, yogurt, bananas, oranges, OJ) The coffee was on the weak side, so plan to head to the nearby Starbucks if you like a caffeine jolt in the morning All staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful Would definitely return the next time we’re in town

The Littlest Dragon

I came during prom week During my stay, the staff were so kind and helpful They were so helpful and I wanted for nothing

At breakfast if I needed help there was always someone there willing to help Things that were empty were filled Even when I tried to clean up a hot chocolate spill from my baby sister, they stopped me and made sure I was okay and commented that they were worried about me fallingRooms were clean, though I do wish they had thicker comforters The only other thing is that the bathroom door lock was very finicky and was hard to unlock The fridge is loud when making ice Overall, fantastic room, fantastic hotel, and I would stay again

All in all a very pleasant stay Freshly renovated this Venetian themed Holiday Inn has a lot to offer From the warm reception at the front desk to the pool and sun deck

A Starbucks in the hotel, breakfast made to order, & a bar w dinner options The area seems to be going through a rejuvenation with new construction and flowering trees You can tell that they are diligently making an effort to improve the area Quick access to highway 🛣 I had a large room with a great view of pool & sundeck Like 👍🏼 & follow for more adventures ✨️ Travel well 47Million views and counting 😊Thank you 😊

It’s what you would expect from Holiday Inn Decent rate with a good room My only complaint are the curtain styles that they use, they don’t block all the light in the morning

Other than that, the The bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size and clean The best part is it’s located right next to a movie theater and a bunch of restaurants and places to eat

The room was clean and comfortable The breakfast was great However, at about 9pm our smoke alarm started chirping everyone minute or so

The front desk person said they could have someone fix it the next day When I pointed out that I wouldn’t be able to sleep, I was told to remove the battery myself I pointed out that was a safety issue and they gave me a battery I had to stand on a rolling desk chair to figure out how to change it I’m lucky I didn’t break my neck The new battery didn’t fix the problem so I was told to totally disconnect it This seems to be a HUGE safety issue for everyone in the hotel Also, how is it that they have nobody on staff at night to handle basic things like this?
