This was a great place to stay I would say one of my top choices in Durham, NC The staff are warm and friendly

My room 438 had an awesome view so I left the window opened I fell asleep easily and everything was peaceful The room gave me an upscale feel but still comfy I will be back to stay eat and enjoy the Hilton life aka the good life

Staff was friendly and room was nice Elevator is a little slow, breakfast for 2 is $36 and about what you would expect for a hotel I wouldn’t recommend it unless the price is included in the room (some rooms include it and some don’t) The restaurant/bar is closed on Sunday so beware of that

The main reason I booked here was for the pool and the hot tub however when I arrived the hot tub had been closed down and filled in They should update their photos and make it clear the hot tub is no longer here Overall it was a decent stay and I would probably stay here again if I’m back in this area

NJ Chatham

I attended an event here, but did not stay in a room The facilities were nice, but the drink service was extremely slow, probably due to a lack of personnel While at my event, the hotel was also hosting 2 weddings and the 2 bartenders could not keep up with demand

If I’m paying $4 for a domestic beer, I would prefer faster service I feel Hilton should have been prepared and provided extra servers, especially since they had a head count for our gatheringOtherwise, the hotel was lovely, the food was tasty and there was plenty of parking

Great, clean, convenient hotel close to the airport Would suggest having a car to get around as it is not walking distance from area restaurants but definitely a short car ride away from plenty of options Clean room that could use some upgrades

Safe neighborhood Friendly, helpful staff Free breakfast offering multiple options for almost any diet or picky eater in your group Reasonably priced for the location and amenities provided Would stay here again and reccomend

The price for this hotel was affordable! However, I did read the reviews and knew what I was getting myself into but it was a last minute booking I gave it 3 stars because the front desk staff is very unprofessional – not well kept appearance, outfit or attitude/tone Secondly, there was a trail of ants near the elevators

Elevators were very old, creaky, and unreliable You could hear it shaking and making odd noises I refused to use it again – I just took the stairs The rooms were not bad It was very spacious (one of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve seen, actually) It was outdated and fairly clean One thing I didn’t like was I smelled marijuana in the hallway The plugs attached to the lamp did not work so I had to move the side tables away from the wall to use the wall plug I saw a dead roach-like bug behind it, dust and a blue lighter? The comforter had a big rip in it and was just a bare duvet The window had some debris on it – maybe caulk or window sealant? I’m not sure but there was a crack in between the windows so outside air was coming inOverall, I did not have a bad experience here I just do not think it’s very clean or kept up often I refused to walk on the floors barefoot and didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower I just felt icky here Read your reviews before booking anywhere

John Silva

The hotel and rooms need updating and a thorough cleaning I killed a worm like bug in the bathroom upon entry to my room, but the bed and sheets were clear The in room coffeee maker does not work, my sink does not drain properly and the shower head only receives half of the water while the rest of it comes out of the shower faucet

The location is convenient for work, but I will not be staying here again

We relied on the ratings and features when choosing this hotel as we have for other places and I don’t want anyone not knowing the truth here I don’t know where these five star ratings are coming from The hot tub didn’t work and that wasn’t disclosed

I called to ask the hours it was open and was given the the hours of 9am to 11pm They made no mention that it hasn’t been working for a really long time until we went down to use it That was one of the main reasons I selected this hotel and had I known it wasn’t working I would have cancelled The pool water was frigid and cloudy The room bathrooms were not clean and the carpet was stained and disgusting throughout the hotel When we went down for breakfast at 8 (open from 7 to 10) there was no waffle mix, no eggs, no plates, no bowls, no oatmeal toppings, no yogurt, no creamer, and no juice cups There was literally coffee, oranges, bread, and sausage That’s it We made a couple more trips to see if things had improved and they hadn’t Just more angry people in the breakfast area The chef was struggling and only filling things as people demanded them instead of proactively filling The elevator buttons are missing, don’t work, or don’t light up after last being serviced supposedly in April The TVs in the room are incredibly small I am shocked that this is a Marriott I felt like we stayed at a $6999 a night hotel and should have known what we were getting into Save yourself the trouble when finding a place and stay elsewhere! We checked out after the first night!

Good: quiet room, comfortable bed I was not interested in the chain restaurants nearby so I went to Carrborro Stay here instead of airb@you know, please(the hotel was reasonably priced)

After coming to the place we rented and hearing a loud party, this hotel was so quiet Nice shower too The room was updatedThey only gave us 3 large towels though We needed one more I love the lotion they provide, it smells amazingYou can sometimes hear vehicles outside the window, but the bed was comfortable

Sterling Thompson

The room we stayed in was clean and spacious For a family of 5, it was very useful having a separate space for the toilet and the shower And having 2 sinks for bedtime and mornings was very handy too

The staff were very friendly and helpfulI gave a rating of 3 stars because there was a lot of broken things in the shared spaces The elevator buttons were broken There was only one working treadmill in the exercise room– the broken one didn’t even have a sign on it noting it was out of order The internet on the TV in our room would randomly cut off, and the TV would go blankThe lack of attention to the small details felt so off for the Marriott standard I chose this location because there were so many good reviews, so maybe my stay just occurred during a weird time

Loved the location The staff were very friendly The rooms were clean

The overall hotel was very clean The bathroom design should be different The toilet shouldn’t be closed off with the shower The bathroom is located next to the entry door but doesn’t allow for privacy There isn’t a door at the space allowed for basin use or general dressing I believe reducing some of the living space where the bed is located (1 king bed room) would allow for changing the bathroom design Also, there wasn’t any towel rods We had to use clothes hangers for our wet face clothes and damp towels There wasn’t any king of soap dish or shower caddy inside the shower You literally have to place your soap or shampoo bottles etc on the shower floor tub They do however provide pump soap and shampoo attached in the shower I always supply my own because of brand type that I like

Russ Dean

Clean and new The front desk employee was kind and showed genuine concern about our stay and room satisfaction He even accomodated us with a top floor and nice view

Loved the bar and the vibe downstairs Rooms get pricey and their garage gets busy when there’s shows next door, but the parking is convenient and reasonable Great home base to explore Durham and unwind Use Marriott points for the best value when prices are up for shows next door Got a $380 value for just 35,000 points using that trick

Mario Monti

The rooms were nice and the staff friendly One day, my key card just wasn’t working and I had to get it replaced A couple of things to watch out for

They don’t always replace the towels, so I didn’t have a towel for the walkout shower one of the days, surprising since I leave a tip for the maid service Also, the shower floor was very slippery and I could have cracked my head open Very low water pressure in the shower The bathroom sink however, got hot water right away As far as the gym goes, it is useful, however they don’t always have towels there and one day the thermostat battery was dead so the air conditioning in there wasn’t working It was like a sauna Also, it seemed as if the bar was closed Saturday night, for some reason At least they weren’t open when they said they were going to be open One last thing, unless the windows are open, I feel like there’s not enough light in the room So, plan to have the window shades wide open to get enough light

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding in Durham It’s new and has spacious suites with modern bathrooms Breakfast is great and there is plenty of space to sit

Just wish it was available until 10am on weekdays as well Staff was very friendly, kind, and helpful, especially two ladies who worked there during our stay Coffee and hot tea is available all day and there is a modern gym Unfortunately, there’s construction opposite of the hotel which was a bit noisy but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault Would definitely recommend!

Mara Purcell

This review is for the downtown Durham location Awful experience We had a horrible experience

We did not get a good nights sleep because the beds were so uncomfortable They offered to try to get something to put on top of the mattress For breakfast, they were out of a number of items I requested that they refund us for one night They agreed to do so however they ended up charging us double instead and it took several phone calls to get that corrected Ultimately, they never ended up refunding 1 night so even though they said they would I recommend you choose another place to stay since there are a number of better options

Chloe

The hotel is new and fresh with spacious modern rooms and a great lobby I loved the bedding and had a great night sleep I hope the staff and management stays on top of the upkeep as I noticed a few things that are starting to need attention (caulking in the shower, headboard scratches)

The AC unit was also quite loud, but it became white noise after awhile I would definitely stay here again and I’m picky with hotels

Great service and personnel! Everyone is really friendly, helpful and outgoing! The hotel is really big with many different meeting and conference roomsThe food is delicious and they have a great variety of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options Also the staff is really aware of the importance of gluten free diet (especially in the case of health issues like celiac disease) and everything is carefully separated so that there is no risk of Cross-contamination

A large wedding party was arriving and accomodations were months prior and were told they could check in earlier than 3pm since many were arriving out of country and a ceremony an hour and half later HALF of the rooms were not ready! People were doubling up until they were ready The bride and maid of honor and brides maids rooms were to be near one another but eneded up on sepatate floors! The entire wedding parties room service was taken care of BUT the hotel CHARGED the guests AGAIN separate! Also no directions on how to use the new phone system even the employees came in and had to figure it out in order to show us

No microwave in rooms Plus I got charged the next week a pet fee and there were NO pets there! Still waiting on that to be credited back

Rerouting Pleasure House Rd creates issues getting in and out of Airgate Dr Once you’ve navigated it, it isn’t too bad but the navigation systems (at least mine) have not caught up with the change

Otherwise it is a convenient location to the airport, Brier Creek shopping and highways (I40 and 540) to take you anywhere They also provide an airport shuttle which is very much appreciatedRooms are clean and comfortable Staff is helpful and attentiveBreakfast is adequate with hot and cold options along with juices, coffee and teaI have been using this hotel for many years and will continue to do so

We actually did not end up staying here We had a reservation for 3 nights and when we arrived, we were dissatisfied with the room and checked out The rooms are just very run-down

Our room had an odd smell to it, the carpet had lumpy spots throughout, the heater made a loud noise when running, bed and pillows were VERY worn Also, there was a hole in the door to the bathroom Overall, just not worth spending money to stay here, in my opinionI will say the staff was VERY friendly and made it simple/easy to cancel our reservation I was very thankful for that I just wish they would use some money to renovate throughout

I definitely prefer the hotel in Mebane I feel like the sheets have never seen a ounce of fabric softener They are very stiff and just frankly uncomfortable

My room had a hole in the ceiling above the shower and the fire alarm flashed all night longThe beds are stiff as a board and left me with terriable back pain in the morning The rooms are much smaller at this location alsoThe staff are incredibly friendly and the lobby is absolutely gorgeous But when I get a hotel I want a comfy bed or at least a reasonable one I go to a hotel like this to get a good night sleep and this Hilton just doesn’t compare to the others around the areaI highly doubt I will ever return to this Hilton, I even felt rushed to check out early because the maid service knocked on my door far before check out time at 11: 22 While I was trying to get dressed with my partner It definitely made us so uncomfortable as we walked pass the crowd of maids waiting for us to leaveThey even stared at us the entire time as we walked to the elevator making things incredibly awkwardDefinitely the worst experience I’ve ever had a Hilton but I’ll continue to go because 99% of the time I enjoyed my experience at their hotels just not this particular one

Mrs. S. C. Womack

You would think looking from the outside the rooms would reflect it We checked in after I was medicated and discharged from an out of state ER From the ER it was a 3hr drive to the hotel

We did a late check in The desk in the room had a leg that was barely hanging on and there was splintered wood where the Kerig was I know housekeeping noticed this when they cleaned the room Thank God our small child was not with us as this was a BIG safety issue As a Diamond member I was disappointed I feel like they just put guests in any room regardless of member status because guests stay there because of the convenience It’s sad that we’ve stayed in Hampton Inns that are more up to par Y’all need to step it up a few notches, Hilton Garden Inn Durham! The location was good and convenient to the mall, interstate, and shops

elizabeth Bandyk

Upon checking in, I realized the online reservations booked the wrong hotel and I was charged for their mistake The front desk at the hotel I was checking in went way above and helped me contact the supervisor to correct their mistake Tegris was exceptional with customer service; helped me for over 30 minutes and was absolutely delightful the entire time

As a Trauma Director, I recognize compassion and a sincere work ethic I wish every I had Tegris in my field! Thank you for your hard work and making my stay superb!! Also want to thank Sunday for her phenomenal breakfast and starting my day off with her cheerful smile and sunny disposition!!

The top pro of the hotel is the pool They’re very serious about only guests entering, which I appreciated It’s a large indoor/outdoor pool

Seating was good & towels were plentiful The grounds seemed nice with a pond, volleyball, tennis, and basketball courtsWe got a suite with a sofa bed and 2 double/queen beds I appreciated that the sofa bedding & pillow was in a nice package The beds were fine The flooring and furniture was super old and stained No USB plugs anywhere, which was shocking Definitely some updates neededWe specifically asked and were told that there was a complementary breakfast buffet in the morning Imagine our surprise to find that it was a paid breakfast in a restaurant! Even the wording on their paperwork (attaching pic) sure seems unclear Hoping they add at least a simple breakfast or counsel their employees to be more specificOverall, would return Location was good and room was decent for price

Laurie White

It is a nice hotel but the sauna and jacuzzi were out of service July 2022 The restaurant served good food and the staff was kind and respectful Breakfast buffet served the basics for $14

Dinner entrees ranged about $30 a plateI had to call housekeeping to make the beds and change towels The hotel is tucked behind business centers so not quite in a shopping/recreational location You definitely need a car to get around

Felicia P

My family and I choose to stay here every year in July and we throughly enjoy the experience The hotel staff is fantastic and go above and beyond with their accommodations The only comment I have is that I wish the hotel would power wash the balcony of rooms that have it

It desperately needs a good cleaning regularly The bars had some rust on them as well

Very outdated rooms Dirty floors and walls There were red stains all over the carpet

stains on the walls and carpet Not up to Hilton standards at allI would never stay here againI’d much rather drive the distance to stay somewhere I felt safe to sleep The area was quiet but the hotel itself needs major work Digital key wouldn’t open doors I did at did to and it only opened guest laundry so I had to walk all the way around get a hard copy of my key There was also a strange man who CAME INTO MY ROOM at 4am how did he get a key to my room? That was a security issue luckily I had the safety latch on he did to the side of my door when I came and tried to rush in That was not fun or cool I had my kid in my room ANYTHING could have happened again if never ever stay here again

Christa Smith

The hallways smell like mold and pee The lobby is nice but once you venture past there it is a different story Bathroom had mysterious brown stains on the bathroom floor and the chair in the room (pictured) was also stained

The bed was comfortable but the room was kinda small Breakfast is $12 a person At that price you might as well go around the corner and get some starbucks

Mikayla Moore

Rooms were poorly cleaned, my associates didn’t have enough water to take showers on the 6th floor and I had intermittent hot water There’s no continental breakfast instead they charge you $12 for the same subpar food you usually get free at hotels The reception women were wonderful but over all a poor establishment

We had lots of associates attending the same event that felt the same way

Clean comfortable Hampton Inn and Suites The staff was very friendly and treated us like family Our room was spacious; however, it was not well stocked as other Hampton Inn and Suites that we have stayed at

We got 2 towels and wash cloths, a shampoo and a conditioner It wasn’t a big deal it just caught me off guard as we don’t bring extras because we always have a stocked bathroomIn the morning when we left we were given to go breakfasts because we needed to get on the road These were greatly appreciated as was the coffee that was hot and fresh

Leah Hunter

We were very pleased with this hotel We stayed for one night and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the following morning The hotel process was very easy, the front desk employees were very nice and professional, and the entire hotel was very clean

Our bathroom was probably the cleanest and most well-kept bathroom I’ve had in a hotel Would definitely use again!

Our room was nice

heater in room was hard to figure out how to work and had a clicking ticking noise when in use rm 124 Staff was overall amazing and friendly We never walked thru the lobby without being told hello or have a nice evening We had issues with handicap shower water and they brought us towels and offered to help clean up Breakfast was also very good

Room was very nice and housekeeping worked very hard All rooms are suites which is very nice for families Much better stay than our previous stay at a Doubletree

My only complaint is lobby, coffee area, outside seating needs too be cleaned regularly I doubt that they are sanitizing like they say GM needs too hire a night person too take care of these areas

It’s a great hotel clean, affordable, modern TVs, good bathrooms I think it’s a great place other than one employee The man who works the evening shift needs to be gone

He sits behind the wall and window and has his AirPods in I’ve seen 5+ people sit and wait for him for 5 min plus I’ve resorted to calling the hotel phone In order to get him to stand up and assist his customers I have stayed here many time and when I say this is an every day thing I am not kidding

Service was terrible If I could give this location ZERO STARS I WOULD It all started when I called a week in advance notify for early check-in if possible

Upon arrival to be told that rooms will not be available until 3 Sure enough rooms were not ready until 3:30pm We were told that current day check-ins do not get loaded into system until 3pm The front desk worker was not pleasant at all very short with us Room was ok Outlets were not working properly, no soaps left in bathroom, the deadbolt on the door was hard to latch once in for the night Breakfast was not great at all Missing a lot of items for breakfast ( Butter, hot sauce, yogurt, muffins etc) The nicest person that worked there was the person who maintained the breakfast area Very apologetic about not having items Hot tub was broken Doors to get into the building (side entrances) were not working properly NO ROOM KEY NEEDED so really anyone could just come into the building The last thing that really got my attention was after going out and coming back our room key did not work so we needed to visit the front desk This was a different person other than the person who checked us in and we asked if we could get a new key We gave him our 1 key and the Gentleman said sure what room We told him and he got two new keys and gave them to us No questions asked or ID or last name on the room I did not feel very comfortable knowing that it could be possible for anyone to come in and say my key was not working properly and get a new key made MIND BLOWN!!! My rating of this location has changed dramatically since the last time I stayed here La Quinta Corporate I believe needs to visit this location ASAP I have not stayed at a La Quinta Hotel that was ever this bad

Kelly Diaz

We arrived around 7pm and the front desk manager was extremely nice and helpful getting us checked in and directing us to our room The room itself was one of, if not the, nicest la quinta I’ve ever been to! Rooms were clean and had plenty of towels and pillows, a nice tv, and a mini fridge/microwave/coffee maker set up Beds were very comfy

There is also a great spot to walk you dogs away from the parking lot and traffic, which was appreciated In the morning they had a buffet that included waffles, muffins, juices, etc At check out, the gentleman with the army veteran hat working at the desk was extremely helpful! There was an erroneous charge on the folio, but he called over coworker Terri for help and they were able to resolve it! There are also a ton of restaurants less than 5 minutes away, so we were able to grab some take out after a long drive Overall, super friendly staff and a great place I would definitely stay again, and I’m glad we chose this hotel

My family and I travel a lot! Since the pandemic I’ve witnessed horrible hotel/motel services and accommodations! barely any breakfast or clean rooms BUT this place has a variety of options for breakfast, a clean room, workers were sweet This has been such a pleasant stay that I feel obligated to leave a review Highly recommend

Not to mention the price was great!

We had a lovely stay Very clean and the beds were ridiculously comfortable The bartender was phenomenal

All the staff there was so kind They had great beer choices on tap and the food was exceptional Unfortunately, the weekend we were there their furnace was down Therefore, we were quite cold all weekend That’s the only reason I can’t give it the five stars

Karen Johnson

My stay at the Durham Marriott City Center was excellent due to the fantastic customer service I received from Jazz, Brittany, Josh and Kaitlynn! We were there for a dance competition and the hotel was completely booked Despite the large number of guests present, the staff mentioned above were polite and professional at all times They went above and beyond to ensure every guests’ needs were met

They are an invaluable asset to Marriott The room was also very nice and clean We enjoyed eating at the hotel and socializing at the bar I will not hesitate to stay at this location again The accommodations were great but the customer service was outstanding Thank you, Jazz, Brittany, Josh and Kaitlynn!

Steve Wells

This is one of the best Marriott properties I have stayed at around the world The staff is friendly and very nice The lounge is very well setup and one of the better more spacious lounges I have been at

The hotel is located in the heart of Downtown and so many shops, restaurants and bars are all in walking distance Compared to other hotels in the area, this is an absolute gem that mixes updated rooms, great views with modern amenities and a mix of high-end hospitality that is more than just a cool concept The management here is first rate There is no better place to stay when visiting the area if you want to walk to world class restaurants and bars and be back in your hotel in 5 minutes

Lady B is She Travels

One of the most amazing hotels that I have ever stayed in!! The decor is so beautiful and it truly makes you feel like you are in an Italian Villa The staff is wonderful, Alix and all of the ladies and gents at the front desk took great care of us The housekeeping staff was also so friendly when we passed them in the hallways

The room was amazing, clean and the entire hotel is immaculate I love the marble shower and Juliette balcony They offer a bar and restaurant downstairs, we did not try those amenities but heard great thingsThere is a nice sitting area in front of the hotel but because of the pollen levels, we chose not to sit out A few extras: There are umbrellas for guest use at the lobby doors, they also have fresh fruit infused water available for guests in the afternoon, complimentary coffee available in the morning, extra towels, two robes and disinfecting wipes in the guest roomThe Siena is a jewel in the heart of Chapel Hill and it’s worth the experience if you pass through that area

Cameron Baker

We had a fantastic time at the Siena HotelThe front desk staff were the stars of the showThey did everything in their power to make our stay as pleasant as possible

The rooms were clean and super comfortableRestaurant servers were attentive and always quick with the coffee refillsRoom service left in the hallways wasn’t cleared away Very quickly but that’s a small thing

Teresa

One of my favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed at and I can’t believe it’s in North Carolina The exterior is gorgeous, both in the daylight and at night The rooms have very modern decor and the glass showers make you feel like you are at a mini spa

The Italian restaurant is also very convenient and great I only wish I stayed less time in my room and more time exploring Chapel Hill
