The two most important things to me when looking for a place to stay are price and cleanliness This motel hit the mark! It was the cheapest place I’ve stayed at in years and yet cleaner than most The owner was so kind

even when we arrived after midnight We all slept well and would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area They are also pet friendly The Hampton wanted $75 for our dog to stay one night She charged me a fraction of that Don’t be afraid to stay here just because it’s not a name-branded business Support local and stay here

My father, boyfriend and I made reservations here We waited approximately 15 minutes before we were seated (no biggie) Our waitress was amazing and very friendly

It was quite busy and the dining room was packed with tables Probably a few too many Felt like sardines The food was decent, kinda bland My boyfriend and I had finished eating My father was enjoying a muffin for dessert He was taking a little longer due to problems with his teeth There was an older couple seated next to us at a table for four who had been there before we were seated As my dad was finishing up the owner came over to our table and rudely said ”you need to leave, I have another reservation” Nothing else and walked away The people seated around us looked shocked that she did that After paying close to $100 with gratuity included we headed out The owner was at the front belittling one of the young waitresses My boyfriend made a complaint at the front desk to the owner and told her she needed to show her employees some respect and not to shame them in front of customers Also adding that what she did to us was rude All she responded with was that we were taking too long Never will I ever set foot in this establishment The waitstaff was wonderful and kind The owner on the other handnot so much

CARS AND BARS – Joshua Williams

The staff is courteous The room was clean The beds are a little harder than my liking

I woke up with a stiff upper back as a result The rooms are not very sound proof We could easily hear the TV in the room next to us both through the wall and in the hallway and they didn’t have the volume turned up very high You cannot have the fan blowing constantly on the HVAC So, if you like moving air while sleeping, you need to bring a fan Also, the breakfast ran out of protein an hour before breakfast was supposed to be done for the day Staff finally got some more in the warmer about 15-20 minutes later If I could give 35 stars I would However, if I had to recommend this hotel, I still would

Sue Peters

I have stayed at this particular hotel before and never had a problem However, the room I had this time had very cold-looking bright lightbulbs that were not at all condusive to winding down before bed THEN when I turned off the light before putting my head down, I realized that the nice light-blocking shade leaked the light from the outside spotlight that was trained directly on my window so every time I turned over I thought it was daylight

That sucked

Small kitchen! Especially for the number of people they say it can hold! We had 10 people but there are 16 beds We couldn’t fit in the kitchen to eat Thanksgiving dinner together No living room, but a tiny bedroom upstairs with a couple of chairs in it

But otherwise a charming place It was great fun being a block from the Temple! My sister says dealing with the owner was pleasant and professional

Graydon Blair

Stayed for 2 nights in the top suite with our family of 6 on vacation We all loved this place! The home was built in the 1850’s and has that old house charm There were 4 beds in our suite and a full bathroom

The shower amazingly lasted for 5 of us to shower with full hot waterThe kitchen area is shared & we were able to use the fridge to store our food They supply some pancake mix and awesome butterscotch mints too! We also used the back patio to eat on one night & loved the ambience Be sure & check out the firefly’s in the field west of the house at night Our kids loved seeing them!Check in is a cinch & locking up was easy too We’d stay here again

Leesa Williams

Overall it was a nice stay Need to lower prices a bit They’re on the higher side and not as nice as others on the street

The breakfast advertised is just a make your own in the shared kitchen thing, which I really don’t want to do on vaca, but some people like that I would suggest they clean out used food between stays, however, and make sure the eggs are within their due date for the pancakes as well as keep fresh cookies on hand if they’re going to advertise their bakery with them We enjoyed the back patio and grassy area for the kids

Dirty room, musty, mold/mildew on ac unit turned wash cloth black Shower not cleaned, found hair and soap residue Sink same thing, hair and particles

Desk hair is dirty Fridge not cold It’s hard to breath I’m glad I have a cpap machine because this room is too much for my allergies Only thing I can think is they tried to speed clean with fresh towels, maybe bedding (yet to be inspected), all because the rest of town is booked If I could leave now and get another room I would Even at $200 or $300 for the night My health is worth it to me

We stayed over the weekend and had little reservation mix up At first they were going to pay for a room at another hotel and we were fine with that We left and went to the dollar store

Just as we were about to leave the dollar store the manager came in the store to let us know she had found our reservation and even gave us an upgrade We were stoked Mary that worked the breakfast Cafe was awesome and we enjoyed talking to her in the mornings We ended up staying an extra day to enjoy the amenities and continental breakfast We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Keokuk

Still here and so far so good Well except that I kinda locked the keys in the van but the hotel is very nicely positioned in the Walmart parking lot So I am outside in the middle of the night waiting for AAA to arrive

The hotel management has not complained about this one bit Everything is well kept, clean and looks like new The reason we are here is because my granddaughter wanted to swim for her birthday and she is having a great time I have stayed in other hotels/ motels in the vicinity and by far this place is the best I do recommend you stay here if given the opportunity or choice

While it was fun to stay in a historic building so close to the temple, the furnishings and upkeep was lacking We stayed in a three bed, room 203, I believe, and it had all sorts of issues The bathroom door wouldn’t latch, single ply TP, mismatched curtains, doorknobs

Even though the pandemic is largely over (we hope) they still do not service the room during your stay With three children and four adults on a three night stay, the room was a mess! They did come and vacuum and empty the garbage on requestWe loved the location and charm, however, management needs to put more effort into upkeep and service

Sadie McCracken

Booked this hotel because it looked like it had a great ambiance and a great view of the temple We got there and our room was very spacious, which was a plusWe were disappointed that our view of the temple was visible through only one of five windows or by going out to the balcony

It was also obstructed by some buildings and trees Even more so, our windows were COVERED in huge spiders and spider webs, and going out to the balcony wasn’t much better This should probably be addressedIt’s also pretty difficult to get help from anyone there We noticed that we weren’t given shampoo in our room, so we waited until the front desk was open (they have limited hours) After standing at the open desk for a few minutes, someone finally called someone else to help us They got shampoo for us whilst telling us that we were also at fault for “forgetting” shampoo Definitely more of an inconvenience than I would have hoped forSome other minor things we noticed: front door would hardly close unless it was locked, no cable, no amenities, shower pressure wasn’t working (sounds like it was going to explode every time you moved it to hot)Hotel had a great ambiance and was a great location, though Make sure you do your research on places to eat and when!

We were in town visiting local residents Although we did not stay at the hotel we were able to use the indoor pool with the monthly passes they sell to residents What a terrific idea! I commend their good business sense in making the pool more widely available

The pool room was spacious and the pool large We also met the owner who was very pleasant and professional to work with If we did not already have accommodations arranged through the family we visited, I would have liked to stay here and see more of the hotel and what it has to offer

Chris d’Aquin

The staff makes this hotel great! We had a large group stay 2 nights and every experience I had with the staff was top notch They were attentive, helpful, professional, and courteous They did their best to help us out, even if it meant resorting to unusual solutions

For instance, we traveled 24 straight hours by charter bus and arrived in Nauvoo at lunchtime Our group spent the rest of the day touring the town and watching the Pageant that night Going back to the hotel, we were looking forward to taking showers and getting a good night’s rest It was after 10 pm and we had been hot and sweaty all day! When we arrived, we found out the city’s water line had broken and there wouldn’t be any water for several hours until the repairs were done The hotel staff re-opened the pool to let guests take a quick dip if they wanted It didn’t replace having a shower, but it sure felt great anyway!

Booked for 5 people, got 2 queen size beds, and we brought a cot instead of borrowing a roll away (as they weren’t guaranteed) Plenty of space even with the cot set up The room was very dark, even with the lights on

Hairdryer didn’t work Advertised a restaurant but it was closed while we were there Parking is great and location is great! Beds were very firm but comfortable We were there after pageant season, so it was really quiet, very few people Laundry room available, for $100/dryer and $150/wash AC worked great Cleaning staff, very friendly Wifi was spotty
