We stayed here for a needlepoint retreat and had a blast It’s great for groups with 10-13 people as you can book out the whole place and have it to yourself The rooms vary in price, so group members are able to book what works best for them

The staff was super helpful and worked to coordinate anything we needed for our stay It’s a great, quiet place close to Philly attractions and there’s a lot to do and eat around there The only downside is that there is no elevator so guests should be comfortable with stairs

Ali Faj Bra

Stayed in the Independence Suite and the room was so clean I’ve been to plenty of old-style hotels and none have been this clean Hospitality was superb and the breakfast was excellent

Location was perfect and felt safe to wander around at night Highly recommend place Look forward to my next stay with La Reserve for my next Philly visit Thank you!

Rachel F

We really enjoyed our stay at La Reserve! We stayed in the Hunt Suite, which was very spacious and beautifully decorated The bed was so comfy and we slept so soundly after walking around the city all day! The window AC unit worked great and we didn’t mind climbing the stairs with our luggage It was a quaint place to stay and in a really nice part of Philadelphia

If we find ourselves in the area again, we’ll be staying here!

We felt right at home here! Stayed for a quick trip to visit a museum in the city Everyone was amazing, friendly and helpful! I wasn’t sure how to get to the train station and a desk clerk immediately helped me! Super clean and quiet! The bed and pillow/comforter were very cozy! My boys enjoyed the pool after dinner The breakfast was delicious and the dining area spacious and kept very tidy! Will most definitely return and recommend!

Oh My Goodness

🥰🥰 This hotel is clean, modern and aesthetically pleasing The room was very well thought out as far as space and separation of the bed from the living area As well as there being several doors between the room and the toilet if you don’t want nighttime flushing to awaken anyone The bed was soooo comfy and the room darkening shades were appreciated I will stay here again when I’m in Media

Daniel Hogan

Our hotel was extremely clean and remodeled Visually it was beautiful The staff at the front desk were kind and inviting

When we got to our room, it was spotless and in great shape However, we quickly realized the our toilet barely flushed and only let a small amount of water down with each flush We arrived late and didn’t want anyone coming to the room to fix it late at night, so whenever we needed to use the restroom, we went from the 4th floor to the basement where the hotel exercise center was in order to use the facilities and to avoid any major plumbing issues during the night/early morning It was a huge inconvenienceAs for comfort, the best was great but the pillows were flat and worn, which affected our sleepThe website when we set our reservation stated the pool was out of order for repairs, so we didn’t not bring any swim gear When we arrived, we were told the pool had been completed 2-3 weeks prior We were also told at check in that the hot breakfast wouldn’t be available because the kitchen was being repaired/remodeled This would have been extremely helpful to know ahead of timeOverall, our stay was mixed The staff was friendly and the building was very clean and well kept The exercise room was much better than most hotels I’ve used But the inconveniences of the toilet, pillows, pool, and breakfast took a lot away from our stay I wanted to love it, but it wasn’t great

This was one of the cutest places I have stayed! Very Cozy! The staff was super friendly and very helpful They had already put the coffee up in the morning but the sweet girl working the front desk went back and got me a cup! I highly recommend this place! I will be visiting again! The only thing I wish they had in the rooms was a small refrigerator, but that will not stop me from going back! Love Loved It!

Aisha Hadejia

I absolutely LOVE this hotel, the beautiful mid century modern decor exudes a warmth and charm that most ‘modern’ hotels don’t offerThe area was also perfect, steps from a variety of food, bookstores, parks and beautiful mosaic artworks My room was perfectly appointed, bed was firm but comfortable, with plenty of pillows

I was in town for work and it was such a pleasure to wind down in my peaceful hotel room Check in was a breeze and the counter staff were so friendly and kind Christina was the night counter staff, helped my with a small technical issue in my room It was resovled quickly and with care She was thoughtful enough to mention the continental breakfast the next morning- I was leaving quite early (6am)to catch a flight Breakfast is usually posted at 7 but she said that Tony would be more than happy to have some coffee ready for my departure if need beThe following morning coffee and breakfast were waiting for me before making my way to the airport Tony greeted me in the lobby and let me know there was coffee and bagels available He also made sure I had a ride to the airport and if I would need help with my bags Overall from check in to check out the staff really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and care for and I will most definitely recommend this lovely hotel to future travellers I too will most definitely be back!!

Ashton Bishop

The Alexander Inn is a delightful mid-century hotel with some lovely amenities The staff we encountered were professional, cheerful and kind An unexpected benefit of our stay here was that we are right at the edge of the gay neighborhood of Philadelphia

For my husband and I this was superb Even though we were close to the gay neighborhood, it was also a very easy walking distance to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and many other key historic sites in Philadelphia We will definitely be staying here again when we return to , the location is simply perfect and the aesthetic qualities of the hotel itself are beautiful

Traveling outside one’s familiar settings is always a bit daunting, and emphatically needing a comfortable stay for multiple nights tends to put a high price on available offerings This Holiday Inn came recommended to me, and I’m so glad that it was – the rooms are wonderfully well-furnished, and luxuriously cozy It really felt as much like “home away from home” as a hotel could, with everything from climate control, carpeting, lights, shower and bathroom, and of course the bedding feeling Just Right

The in-house restaurant serves unexpectedly great food, and the staff are very friendly and professional All this, for a price that I think is pretty reasonable, and one I wouldn’t mind paying again A convenient location, in a quiet neighborhood, close to any possible stores, restaurants, or highways – if you’re looking to stay in Drexel Hill, for purposes whether local or generally nearby (eg Philadelphia), I think this Holiday Inn is a great value for your money

Lee Roberts

Hotel is off the beaten path Not many other people in hotel during my stay Indoor pool has salt water and has been broken for months waiting for a part

First room had clogged drains and area under bathroom sink had not been swept Here is the bright part Staff is incredible and switched my room right away Building is only 3 years old so amenities are modern Restaurant & bar on premises I would stay here again

Kim Glasford

We came to town for a baby shower in Clifton Heights Holiday Inn has always been one of my go to hotels plus I’m IHG rewards members The staff was friendly as usual

The room was clean and smell good The only think I had an issue with is the shower water pressure which seem to always be low at all Holiday Inn The bathroom toiletries was Dove productsThe Streetlight bar and restaurant is very nice had breakfast there before heading The buffet is $1699 per person I love there set up with the hotel

My husband stayed here while I was at Temple Hospital for about a week for surgery They were very accommodating since we were not sure how many days he needed to stay Right on Temple University campus, nice place to sit outside, only a little over a mile from hospital and places to eat close by

Room was nice and everything was clean

Calie Mowery

This is a very small inn located in Temple University The front desk staff was very polite The room was a tad small for several nights but perfect for just a few hours of sleep

There is no microwave or refrigerator in the room but there is a microwave in the basement by the ice machine The room and over all building was clean If you plan to park there, please remember to reserve your spot when you make the reservation as parking is very limited It is right next to a few restaurants, coffee shop and 7-11 You just walk out the hotel and they are right there No need to drive We went over labor day weekend and the campus was very quiet We noticed a lot of food trucks so I am assuming during the school sessions you have even more food options I highly recommend this place, especially if you have business at the university

Jessica Schildt

This is a small inn nestled in the midst of Temple University It has the comfort and cleanliness of a brand name hotel, but with more charm The front desk staff is very helpful and kind, and it’s nice to be in the city but feel a bit tucked away from all of the bustle

There is no continental breakfast, but a lot of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance I would stay here again!

Edit: Down to 1starNo Edison outlet between beds This really sucks if you have sleep apnea The clock does have two slow charging USB ports though

AC is weird Do not recommend of you love super cold rooms Won’t go below 62 and if you’re below 65 the AC stops removing a lot of the humidity for some reasonHousekeeping is inconsistent and always came in the afternoon when I was already back from workThey have exactly 1 washer and 1 dryer for the whole building to share And the dryer is brokenLocation is suboptimal I wish they were 5mi east because there’s a void of hotels there that extends to downtownThey have a bar/restaurant, and even a sign by the road advertising it’s now open, but the chef has been out for weeks and won’t be back for weeks Seems dumb to only have a single guy who is scheduled to cookFront desk people are friendly and do what they canBreakfast is free, and fairly typical Nothing fancy, but it’s not lackingParking is freeThe elevator doors close very slowly, but the close door button Does work and it’s worth pushing

Very helpful front desk and check in process Rooms were very clean and stylish Amazing water pressure in the shower and they also provide conditioner, shampoo, and body wash

There’s a cute Mexican restaurant and a cute rooftop bar to check as well I 100% recommend grabbing a coffee in the AM The coffee shop inside is so cute and the service is amazing! Lastly the coffee almost has this creaminess too it I can’t explain and I only had an American iced Definitely would stay again when in Philly!

Brett

Super location, great rates, excellent service Very comfortable bed, fun window seating (fun, not comfortable) w/nice city view, good bathroom Clean

Very thin walls and laminate floors but courteous neighbors overall Originally a “Pod” hotel but better as a Hilton In-house lobby cafe is interesting and decent enough that I would visit it on it’s own merits + it offers relatively generous Hilton elite breakfast benefit

Catherine

I booked for a long weekend in December I have no complaints The place was clean, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating

Sure, the room was small, but I knew what I was booking when I looked the place up I only needed a bed and bathroom during my stay There was of course a TV as well as under the bed storage, a safe, and two drawers The bathroom was regular sized, had a very nice shower and there was a hair dryer as well This hotel is gorgeous and I enjoyed having a cafe inside the hotel I did not have any complaints during my stay Just make sure you do some research before booking any hotel, there’s no reason for people to be disappointed in what they didn’t get when none of it was advertised in the first place

This hotel has large comfortable rooms Housekeeping was great! We really have no complaints The parking garage is not truly self-park since they actually need to park your car since they use an elevator instead of ramps but the parking garage attendants were very nice and answered any questions I had

It only took a few minutes for them to bring my car down when it was time to leave

Jefferey Holoman

Nice spacious room Plenty of clean towels and hot water The bed was so comfortable! The room service was attentive with waters and coffee

They also did a great job cleaning the room The hotel is right on the edge of all the shopping and great restaurants The fitness center is pretty nice and all the machines were in good working order I consider this hotel a great value for center city Philadelphia! I can’t find anything negative to say about it!

Sheena

PLEASE READ: This is falsely advertised as a 4 star hotel Maybe they’re mixing up review ratings with actual hotel star ratings I’d give it 2 star at best

It’s just down the street from the Westin and it’s like comparing a motel to the Ritz I paid over $200 each for 2 signature deluxe rooms and was hopeful upon arrival but the parking was shady and a bit creepy The staff is nice and the lobby is nice but when I got into the tiny elevator that felt like it was going to fall at any minute, hope dwindled When I walked into my room I knew I’d been duped It was definitely a “lipstick on a pig” situation The rooms smelled musty and of mold, the wallpaper was peeling, the amount of dust and dirt is appalling The bathroom grout was dirty, the bathroom door didn’t lock and there was no fan/vent in the bathroom There were also black specks on the bedding When you check out they don’t ask you “how was your stay” because they must know the answer will be “extremely disappointing”Now, I’m not writing to bash the hotel, I am hopeful that the problems can be acknowledged and addressed but mostly that guests can know what they are getting before they decide I wish I could post photos here, but I hope my descriptions suffice

This hotel is very conveniently located It has great parking, but no valet available One can tell that this was a beautiful hotel at one point but NOTHING has been done to it and it is decaying

The bones of the hotel are beautiful, but the furniture is second rate, the decorations are scant and cheap, the carpets and curtains have seen better days While we were staying there, the fire alarm went off and it took them a long time to get the elevators running again The door was on our room would open without a key and the bathroom curtain was filthyThe hotel’s restaurant, Nineteen, is very nice, but only the inner circle is well decorated The rest of the tables look like fold awaysTo get into the hotel, one has to walk through a weird office lobby where at one point there must have been stores but now we wonky empty spacesIt is sad to see such a beautiful building go without maintenance or upkeep

Jenny Contenta

Very charming 200 year old hotel The rooms are very dark and not the cleanest I really disliked the beds, hard mattresses and now comforter on the bed

Meeting rooms are nice and large No coffee shop and no bar So much potential My lights kept coming on in my room the entire week stay Super annoying that they do not clean your room daily

Rachelle Marie

Priced high, expected it to be cleaner The room was large as we had a corner room, double bed Room furniture, carpet is all pretty aged and quite dirty

Shower drained slow and filled up the tub rather quick Hallways and carpets dirty feel We really wanted a more luxurious stay here as it was pictures and displayed so nice on the advertisements Restaurant not open for dining in, delivery fee and 5 dollar cold stale toast Parking was 40 bucks for one night! They DO NOT VALIDATE parking like some reviews say they do A bummer, but downtown near shopping

I hosted a celebration in the Gathering Room at the Inn at Swarthmore and the experience was perfect! Booking the space was seamless and my contact for organizing and booking, Melissa, was so helpful and responsive The space looked elegant when after set-up was complete, and the staff were amazing with everything from set-up to helping me find safety pins to secure my dress The staff even accommodated my last minute request for fresh mint and lemonade for cocktails and made sure the dessert display for my cake, cupcakes, and cookies was beautiful

The food was delicious (and there were so many options!) and plentiful The location was perfect for accommodating all of my guests because the regional rail is right next to the hotel and there is plenty of parking available I looked at 17 different venues before deciding on this one – this was by far the best value and a lot of the work was done for me I also appreciated that the estimate I received when looking around was so transparent – the fees and taxes were included so no unsavory surprises! The total bill came to the exact same as the estimate I cannot say enough good things about this experience – a true hidden gem!!! Thank you all for a truly wonderful time!

Nicole Rouleau

Absolutely loved this restaurant Its a hidden gem we never knew about! The drinks were amazing The food was so so good! Highly recommend the flatbreads and the buttermilk chicken sandwich! They hire servers that are new to serving which I think is outstanding

Giving people a chance to feel good about themselves and gain experience is wonderful Great serviceThey also have a wonderful weekend brunch – will be checking that out asap!

An overall fair experienceTo start, I had reserved a king room a few weeks ago On arrival at 5:30pm, was informed that no kings were available

We were given the option of taking an immediately available double queen or waiting for the king We had a concert to get to in less than two hours so we opted for the double queenThe room was at least very quiet, but it really looked pretty worn See the pics below for the quite worn desk chair, rusty hardware on the furniture and what I can only assume was a missing shower caddy? on the shower wall leaving a residue of adhesive Felt more like a two star motel rather than a 3 star hotel roomThe lobby area was quite nice however, and they serve cookies at night in the lobby, which is a “sweet” touch The hotel is also within walking distance of a Target and several chain restaurants which was convenientOverall, relatively affordable but I probably would not stay again unless I had a worse experience at a nearby hotel

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any stay This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You’re welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area

I have been coming here for a long time If you choose this place you definitely won’t regret itBeautiful hotel, well kept, clean, excellent service, great location for what I went for will definitely stay again if I ever visit Philadelphia again Employees very attentive and friendly

J

ROOM: I was extremely happy with the room accommodations I got a 2x queen bed room Lots of lighting, desk / counter space, and closet space

Mini fridge actually got coldSERVICE: There was no room service unfortunately the weekend i stayed There was one housekeeping staff that was extremely rude and attempted to literally walk through me near the elevators as i rounded a corner It was a moment of a game of “chicken” The service staff in the lobby at the reception and at the breakfast were excellentLOCATION: very safe, with frequent night patrols by hotel security, which i appreciated The hotel is tucked away in an area with nice grass and trees Only minor downside is that it is not in center city itselfOVERALL: would return

Nice hotel with affordable rates and great service The pool is somewhat of a nice perk in the city The lobby has a nice steakhouse and very lively bar

However, the bathrooms appear dated The valet folks are nice but take forever to get your car They don’t even let you call down for your car—so be ready to wait 45-60 min The only reason we would stay here again is because of the great hotel staff!

Didn’t get to enjoy the pool since it was closed for the season (stayed in October), that would’ve made my visit! The room was nice, we had a corner, so we had a little view down the road instead of just an airshaft Bustling hotel, seemed like a lot of folks were visiting to enjoy a sporting event, but I was present for a wedding Like others have said, the valet was indeed very slow

I’m glad I didn’t need my vehicle except for at checkout Lots of the amenities had been suspended due to COVID, so I’m not sure I really got the full hotel experienceand I could’ve done with a larger bathroom for sure It got really humid in the room after showering All in all, I think I enjoyed it mostly because I had a wonderful companion and was there to celebrate something special The post-wedding brunch catered by the hotel was good I was given gluten free pancakes by special request!

Room service was lack luster The shower temperature wasn’t consistent, even if you didn’t touch the knob it could do from warm to scolding hot in just a few seconds Furthermore the pool had so much chlorine I almost threw up when I inhaled too much

The bed was fine but the pillow were to firm and my neck was so soreIt was in a good location, and the front desk person was incredibly nice and accommodatingUnder normal pricing this would be a 3/5 but the price is way to high for the less than adequate convenience and comfort Would not recommend compared too other hotels

I’ve stayed at many hotels in my life (including The Eden Resort), and my stay at The Maj in Philly was by far the best experience I’ve ever hadThe pillows are the BEST pillows I’ve ever slept on in my LIFE! Dante was helpful to my boyfriend in booking the reservation India was helpful at check-in and showing us how to use the mirror

The woman who checked us out today was very courteous and asked about our stay It was very clean and comfortable The shower experience was very relaxing They have a lot of technology in the rooms too, including a Smart Mirror in the bathroom and a button to draw the curtainsDefinitely the most positive experience at a hotel

When I selected this hotel, I selected it for its pet policy (I have a dog) and it’s proximity to the eastern state Penitentiary I had zero expectations of a good stay in downtown Philadelphia That being said, I was absolutely shocked with the quality of the facility – the rooms are all smart rooms with a ton of exceptional features I don’t typically find even in more expensive places, with everything from climate control to the smart mirror in the bathroom being controlled by your phone

In addition, the staff were an absolutely incredible breath of fresh air I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and resorts and the staff here around the clock were some of the most professional, helpful, and courteous people I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with on a vacation Miss India, Sia, Maddie, in particular were available at all times and helpful 100% of the time If I had a question or a problem, they had a solution or an answer almost instantly 10/10 would stay at this place happily and I have no intention of ever staying anywhere else when I come to the area

Clean, modern Hi-Tech boutique hybrid hotel The over all ambiance is sleek and minimalistic while still being tasteful and intimate Quality cotton bedding, towels and robes

Comfortable high end pillows and mattress Smart room features allow you to control the thermostat, TV, lights, blinds and door lock from your phone while the bathroom has a smart mirror It’s a short walking distance from museums, attractions and several great restaurants There is no parking or valet at this time and that was our only minor inconvenienceI highly recommend this hotel

I really wanted to love the place But I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed For almost $800 per night I expected more

The staff were excellent and professional But that’s were the excellence endedI’ve used better towels at a Holiday Inn The robes were also thin and short The shower was small No amenities for the bathtub No tea in the room No hot tub The doorman, though friendly, never noticed anyone walking out And many times not even walking in At the Library Bar, my wife ordered a White Russian, but was told they were out of cream After not ordering anything else, they found some cream Suspicious? Yes All in all, a good hotel, but not worth what they charge

My wife booked us a massage a few weeks ago I cant remember if it was a Wednesday or Thursday The massage was great and the staff were awesome

Only issue I had (and not even a huge deal), was that I asked the front desk to speak to a manager (I wanted to ask a question on future bookings) and they said “the manager that is here is Lisa (or Linda, cant remember exactly) and she doesn’t talk to guests regularly and she usually leaves early and might have left already” Clearly this employee is not a fan of the manager as I sensed some tude when she was speaking about her (cant remember employee name but had light colored hair), but if the manager is hands off, I can understand the employees frustrationI asked if there was anyone else and they gave me the number to a different manager who was off that day Not a big deal but it is sad that the manager doesn’t want to speak with customers I did speak with the other manager and she was helpfulOn a good note, the spa was super clean and the staff were all dressed and came off very professional The valet were also super helpful in recommending me some local restaurants to have an early dinner at (early birds)! I wish I remembered his nameI will return!

3 stars is actually mediocre and for the type of establishment they portray themselves to be that’s not a good thingFirst, the greeting staff is friendly and helpful but the room, though generally large, has tons of wasted space and a small bathroom The shower is tiny and the vanity is very small

Tight quarters for 2 people and their toiletries The towels are small and somewhat thin Same with the robes Also they went to lengths to have a separate tub and shower but don’t include any bath salts or anything for the tubWhy is there only coffee in the room? My husband is a tea drinker and there were no options for tea in the roomBreakfast is good but pricey for what it is The bar is nice but way too small with the traffic from the restaurants and guests And tonight, wanted a White Russian and they couldn’t make it because they ran out of cream Really? No one could run to 7-11? Update to that About an hour later, as I sat without a drink, while my husband drank, they “found” a small amount of cream and brought me a drinkAnd where in any information on the hotel does it tell you that the high tea is not being done? All in all not wowedThey miss the mark on 5 star so they are really just average, and average shouldn’t cost this much

Went for a wedding Staff were wonderful Lobby and elevator lobbies on each floor were dark and dismal, and don’t try to get a working iron

But it was conveniently located by historical areas and having the Market across the street was a great plus The rooms were clean and neat and comfortable All together, we were satisfied with the hotel

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! We will definitely come back next time we’re in Philly Our luxury double room was large, clean, and bright with huge windows and a stunning view of the city! Beds were wonderful, downtown location is fantastic, and without exception every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful

Wow This hotel is really nice But I was harassed by the security while sitting in the lobby area with my bags

I was profiled, and they thought I was just using their hotel to stay warm All the while, I paid for a two night stay I explained to the guy I was waiting for my girlfriend to come down with her key to let me up Long story short, the security guard apologized, but the damage was already done!! Also, I was charged an extra $35 for a mini fridge! I really can’t understand how I paid top dollar to stay here and couldn’t even get a complimentary refrigerator Staying here was a disaster Nothing special, but the view outside of the window If you’re black, just be aware, they do profile, and it was by another black person Needless to say I will be staying at a different hotel next time, or maybe even an AirBNB (where you get a refrigerator) !! But I will not waste my money here again

Key piece of advice when staying here: set your expectations appropriatelyThe good:- The front desk staff was very nice and helpful!- They had a room available at 11:30pm at night- Close to the airport with included shuttle service

– Parking here while we were away was reasonabley priced, ~$10/dayThe not so good:- The room smelled damp- The bathroom ceiling had been damaged from excess moisture- The sheets were really cheapI didn’t set my expectations very high so I was pleased with my time here

The hotel itself is great! The front desk staff not so much We had reservations but the two girls working overnight decided to give one of my rooms to someone else Then when we arrived they wanted to argue with my husband about it just to turn around and give us the two rooms we needed but told us not to bring our pets

Our original reservation was for two rooms both accepting pets I brought my dogs into the room for the night regardless and will NOT be staying here again! I wish companies like this would hire the right people and train them correctly 😋
