I absolutely love this place I’m so happy I discovered this I was staying at an extended stay America and it was just an awful experience

I checked out early I was only there 4 days and I happened upon this location and I’ve never been happier staying here for 6 months on a travel assignment with my company So this is my new home away from home The staff is amazing They provide prompt, reliable service You couldn’t ask for more

Very nice place to stay $167 for a large suite with 2 king sized beds in the bedroom And a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, sink and cupboards

A breakfast nook and dining table The dining room can be used for client meetings because it has a dry ease board with a tray that can hold an eraser and dry ease markers A living room with a sofa , coffee table, tv, and sofa chair Clean and comfortable I would stay here again

Bev Ann G.

Clean and friendly Staff Breakfast is ordered the night before Choices are few and the Toaster in a room barley worked

1 hard sofa bed to sit on No USB power adapter available So bring your own! It’s an older Motel, but you don’t pay what you would if you had all the upgrades! So take your pick Marriott price or OK and reasonable 😊

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Auburn during our recent trip When I checked in, it was impressed on me over and over that this Holiday Inn was a full service hotel With that, one would expect those little extras that come with a full service hotel

Not here We walked into our room and it was no different than a Holiday Inn Expressactually I find the Holiday Inn Express’ a little nicerWe couldn’t set the HVAC system to continuous fan for whatever reason, so when the folks next to us arrived back at 2AM one morning, slamming things around and talking loud the fan didn’t drown them out No extra blankets, the pillows suckedWe did have our dog with us so maybe they put us in a more plain room??? Who knows Next time we visit Auburn, we’ll likely stay somewhere else

The house is exactly as pictured However there was no breakfast, maybe that was changed because of covid

but there is a kitchen with all the nicest fixtures and equipment if someone was hosting The only negative is that the propane tanks werent filled so we couldnt enjoy the out doors at night and we didnt get the room we booked even though we where only 1 or two guests at the whole house Other than that, beautiful house

Alicia Brown

The Park Victorian is a very nicely redone bed and breakfast! Has a great view that over looks old Auburn I however would never stay here or host here again We did a surprise engagement party for a family member, there were max 20 people at the event that only lasted for a max of 4 hours

We had the party outdoors and took all proper precautions as the soon to be bride was pregnant and we wanted to be cautious with COVID We provided masks to the family members attending We even hired our own cleaners to come in and clean after us The manager Laurie was very difficult to deal with and was very unprofessional She seems to live on site in a little shack in the back that looks directly into the main dinning room of the bed and breakfast We had been very communicative as our plan for the evening, we then proceeded to get harassing text massages through the event and into the next morning Her text messages were very unprofessional and was shocked that someone of “management status” could talk to paying clients the way she did She turned the nice outdoor lights off at 9pm on us, everyone was gone by 10pm anyways but found this to be rude Not to mention her husband is the maintenance man who had not emptied any outdoor trash cans from previous guests, and they hadn’t filled any propane tanks on the patio After telling her I was shocked with her messages to our family and how unprofessional they were, she proceeded to send them I had friends ask about the venue and as much as its a cute venue, I’d never recommend staying here to anyone after dealing with Laurie!

Rhonda Harrell

Beautiful accommodations! Breakfast was very good and loved having fresh cookies, snacks, coffee and drinks available throughout the day Laurie was a great host and aimed to please Nice views from the rooms of Old Town Auburn

Loved the history that was kept with the renovation and charm of an old Victorian home You must try at least one night

My family of six spent overnight at this Holiday Inn We were very comfortable Our room included two full size beds and a double bunk bed

The facility is clean and the rooms are presentable Even though this hotel rating is low, we found the accommodation excellent Staff was nice They responded to our request for additional towels and tooth brush We asked for a late checkout too We enjoyed their full breakfast complement especially the automatic pancake making machine Flat sausage was a bit dry and cheese omelette tasted synthetic Biscuits and gravy was nice Juice, fruit, and package cereal rounded out their breakfast offering We don’t mind returning here

King Sean

Supper friendly staff! They had a unique situation where a major repair was needed for the hot waterThey clearly communicated what would be happening and whenWhile I was not personally impacted from the situation, I heard from coworkers and staff, how the maintenance and repairs were completed sooner than anticipated and with far less impact to the guests, than anticipated

(Props to the contractors who fixed the aforementioned situation)A few other benefits I found:It was cleaner than most places I’ve stayed (I spent 261 nights in hotels in 2021, if that means anything)Conveniently located in close proximity to a wide variety if shopping, dining and entertainment establishments, all this and only 30 minutes from the Sacramento AirportThe continental breakfast is well set up Food was always, tasty, fresh and the serving area cleanDefinitely wouldn’t would Stat here againMy stay was 12 nights with this written on the 7th night of the stay, for context

Rosemeri Nogueira

My Boyfriend and I usually spend at least 1 night every week at the Holiday Inn hotel, and everything time Heather from the reception welcome us with the most amazing smile and is always extremely helpful, I can’t forget to mentioned Aurora, who is responsible for the breakfast in the morning, who is always happy and the service is impeccable We are very satisfied with the rooms and all the staff that work there, you guys are amazing, thank you for making our staying there so enjoyable I can’t forget to mention Heather once more, that personalised our stay form

Thank you Heather, we loved it Rose and Mr Blue

Stayed at this hotel for the night The room was clean and cozy Large bed and sofa from which to watch TV, also in the room was a refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning and telephone

But when i arrived 10 minutes before the end of breakfast, they closed the refrigerator with yogurt and started cleaning up, so we had to have breakfast elsewhere

Kelly J

I booked a room through Chase rewards, and due to my 3 year old spiking a high fever and a baseball tournament being canceled in Rocklin, CA, we were trying to rebook for the following weekend Not even necessarily cancel and they are unwilling to help or change the booking $180 (overpriced) down the drain

My family and friends and whoever reads this, please do not support these inconsiderate people who do not know how to efficiently run a business (or maybe they do because they got a whole $180) but we will not be returning or giving any business to ANY comfort inns Go somewhere else, you’ll be better off I even called the hotel and they were not helpful and even gave a “I don’t care” type attitude/tone over the phone

Prudence I

I stayed here overnight due to work travel and other hotels being sold out This property is VERY overpriced ($ 253/night) for the lack of upgrades in the room The rooms are not updated, the hallways are very narrow, rooms don’t have microwaves, the fridges won’t close, and they charge for parking

This property spent it’s money updating things like the landscape, lobby, and workout area, but the rooms are less than standard My food spoiled because the fridge wouldn’t close well and my room had no microwave and they didn’t have any spare ones when I asked for one I stayed there for work but would absolutely not return to this property Location is good but that’s about it for the pros Would NOT recommend this property to anyone, as there are nicer properties in the area for a much better price

Jacob Harrison

Took 15 Minutes for anyone to come to the front desk for check-inThe refrigerator/TV Stand was directly in front of the AC making it difficult to cool downI don’t know if this is a new COVID thing but I requested housekeeping to come on our second day and they did not make our bed nor give use new linens

Pricey for the lesser service and the same amenities of a DoubleTree

First off, let me preface this review by saying the staff that I encountered were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with The room was clean and well stocked What I love the most is the hot showers in the morning

Usually, less accommodating hotels skimp on items like the soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap I can’t remember the brand of toiletries but it was amazing, smelled amazing, and made me happy in the morning Big thumbs up! Breakfast was served as described My only wish is that they offered more vegan options I had to use the “business center” which was a computer by the front desk Luckily every time I had to use it, there was no one there And big plus, they let me print for free Some places charge which is super irritating The reason for the three stars is that I had to extend my stay which carried over through the weekend The rate that was charged to my card was agreed to and it was a 30% increase to the normal weed day rate Then early Sunday morning I get a call from the front desk which stated that my card was declined I explained the situation and they said “well that charge was incorrect and you slept there so now you have to pay” I run to the bank and take care of the balance What else was I supposed to do? When it was all said and done the weekend rate was 40% more than what was originally charged This may not be a big deal to some but we were staying there a few days as we had just gotten evicted I know its a bit too pricey, but I wanted to maintain some normalcy for the children and the location was in between our old home and the new storage facility Anyways, blah blah blah, sob story, I know just wanted to throw that tidbit of info in there as to why this 40% increase was a HUGE deal The stay was lovely, the overnight staff were great! They gave me coupons for restaurants nearby I can’t remember the lovely lady at the front desk She was blonde and we swapped stories about our husbands, gas prices, and the heat She was great and the other tall young man who wants to be a firefighter, he was super nice too! So long story short make sure to confirm the rates before they charge your card because they will charge you more without even discussing it with you first I think its wrong for the customer to be penalized for their accounting error especially for recently displaced families on a budget

C.Q. The Great

$12 parking fee? For what? You’re a side of the road hotel with small rooms and a dated motif (haven’t seen a Fairfield with this color scheme and decor in years) A 22″ LCD tv? What am I supposed to do with that unless I’m sitting 2ft from the screen? And on top of all that, there is no onsite fitness center The Courtyard they share the parking lot with allows you to use theirs

I’ve seen even the most budget motel attempt to offer an area for fitness I get you’re near a water park and a short drive to shops and restaurants, but nothing so unique as to warrant an unadvertised parking fee

I have been coming here for 3 years with my company and have had nothing but great experiences The staff has always been great and Christopher working the front desk is the absolute nicest and most helpful person when ever you need anything All other staff is great, rooms are clean and quality, and the front patio area is great for grilling and hanging out in long stays

Out of all the Residence inns I’ve been in this is by far my favorite, keep doing what you’re doing!

nick satwicz

Incredible staff and a great experience We came to the Residence Inn last minute after a travel delay and couldn’t have had a better experience The room was everything we needed and more: with a full kitchen, expansive bathroom, comfortable bed, and large TV

The amenities and breakfast on site was top notch Most of all, the service was excellent Jacob, from the front desk, took care of everything we needed and went above and beyond at all times to make sure we were taken care of Truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had because of Jacob’s caring service throughout our stay Absolutely would stay here again

Christopher Graves

I’m giving a 5 star because the hotel is brand new and I love the Marriott brand As I’m nearly a titanium elite member, they have always and continue to provide exceptional service and this is no different at this property HOWEVER…do not stay here unless you don’t mind an extremely hot room

When we got into our room it was 74° inside and because California is maniacal about emissions, the air will not come on until a guest is present in room More importantly even with the air on we never broke 70° This is extremely uncomfortable for my family and I and I feel that customer satisfaction should be most important I cannot confirm or deny that the thermostat may have been bypassed, however one would speculate that even if it had, it still could not get lower than 70°Cleanliness was a small issue and it wasn’t anything that was visible to first look We moved one of the end tables away from the bed and behind it was a lot of trash To me it’s not that big of a deal but others might not appreciate that so muchOtherwise this property is conveniently located near many shops and big box stores and as I said appears to be fairly new One highlight was the breakfast bar Very clean Well prepared food and plenty of stock for all taste buds!Again, Marriott delivers just about every time but the cooling is an issue*edited* this is the first property that doesn’t respond to reviews (Not many anyways)

My wife, Linda Au, and I got married at Gold Hill Gardens on 9-25-2021 We couldn’t have been happier with the location and the professionalism of Mike and Carolyn (Day-of-ceremony coordinator) The venue is beautiful and there are tons of activities for your guests to partake in (corn-hole, fire pits, big jenga, ping pong)

If you’re going to spend any sort of money on a venue, this would be the best place you’ll find Before the pandemic, we had booked our wedding date to be “10-10-2020”, as early as 2018 After hearing horror stories from our friends that were also getting married, we were relieved to have worked with such a flexible venue Mike didn’t hesitate to let us reschedule our wedding to our “9-25-2021” date and didn’t charge us anything extra to reserve that day either And the day before the wedding, he let us drop off all of the items needed for the wedding earlier at our request, so he is very accommodating He made our lives so much easier and made our special day memorable Thank you so much Mike!

Anna Henry

I was in a wedding at Gold Hill Gardens this past weekend and had the most amazing experience I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Mike, who went above and beyond to make our stay so flawless and work so hard on every little detail for the wedding He was so accessible if we had any questions, and was just so kind and helpful

The wedding itself was flawless and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL In fact, the most beautiful venue I have ever been to The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready, with many different hair/makeup stations There was also a large area inside the home where close family/bridal party could stay while guests were arriving for the ceremony The reception space was so beautiful as well, and it was a very hot day, so they had large AC units out – which was awesome They had cornhole and nice yard games out for the cocktail hour which was so fun!I really cannot recommend this venue enough It is beautiful, has very professional management and go above and beyond!

Shannon Stowers

Gold Hill Gardens is the wedding venue that dreams are made of! Mike and Cindy were fabulous to work with from Day 1, and with every interaction I was left more and more impressed with their dedication, passion and kindnessThe B&B and property are stunning – with views of the rolling hills, impeccably maintained grounds, and so many special, fun touches (the chess set, hammock, fire pits, gorgeous pool, beautiful tent, gazebo, tons of cool decor to use, and so much more) Our wedding party rented all 5 rooms at the B&B for the Friday and Saturday night of our wedding, and it was perfect! Our family from out of town was able to start their stay early, which made the entire week so smooth

The rooms were all beautiful and immaculate, and the breakfasts were delicious! On the day-of, the ladies got ready in the beautifully appointed bridal salon, and the guys got ready in one of the rooms on-site, which worked great The venue was gorgeous, and the ceremony flowed perfectly into the cocktail hour and into the reception When the evening was over and the guests had left, we were then able to relax with our family by the fire pits, eating leftover s’mores and reliving the night Gold Hill Gardens has everything to make your big day feel spectacular and elegant, while maintaining an intimate and relaxed vibeMike and Cindy, you have made something truly special with Gold Hill Gardens Not only have you created the perfect setting, but we left feeling so taken care of; your kindness and preparedness could not be more appreciated We can’t wait to visit again soon

Check-in wasn’t very good or smooth No toiletries in room, telephone, TV & wifi didn’t workOnce the staff got everything fixed, I got settled in & noticed a terrible smell that had me get a candle burning asap! The breakfast buffet was good and the staff is helpful but I would try another spot before coming here

Allie Thomasson

Check in was beyond difficult and literally took hours after a 3 hour drive with an 11 month old Room was ok Had huge gaps in the door but it locked, so fine

But I left a diaper bag there and no one would confirm that I did so I could arrange for family to pick it up for me Called several times and talked to multiple people who never called back

The Fantastik 4 & Mom & Dad

Absolute worst best western I’ve ever stayed at Check in was easy and smooth, but we get to the room and it smelled HORRIBLY of cleaning products I’m very glad they clean but this smell made me almost pass out

We had to go out and buy a fan to air it out and open the door Than we walk in more I go to the “closet” and walked through aspider web, go to the bathroom and there’s a cigarette mark on the toilet, I sat down to it feeling like it’s going to collapse when I flushed it after I used it the toilet jumped and raddled and splashed back at you , there was a spot next to the bed that there was no floor board below the carpet Just all and all horrible room Only plus was the nice breakfast but that doesn’t make this experience any better Especially because I stayed close to 20 days at the best western across the street and had zero issues This isn’t acceptable for being a best western

We loved all the accommodations of the hotel including the kitchenette living room area and bedroom area made private by a curtain Even our dog grew comfortable here She was treat pleasantly by staff and guests alike The daily breakfast options were wonderful and the coffee was awesome Even the fresh fruit in the water pitcher was a delight I can’t say enough great things and would definitely stay again

Joshua Soldo

This was a great stay Relatively new place, rooms were basic but nice Minimal fitness room, but definitely workable

Continental breakfast was pretty good, and service was outstanding Juliana was very attentive and helpful, and Lindsey was nice and accommodating Has a pool, but didn’t get to it I was informed that booze will be for sale in the lobby soon (if you’re into that), and there will be a BBQ food truck there Mondays and Tuesdays (I think those were the days) in the near future Would stay again

Audrey C (Andy The Sony Fan)

The service was great, very friendly/sweet staff The room was beautiful and VERY clean, they have everything you need from extra pillows and blankets, to literally a kitchen sink Plates, cups, eco friendly, and its quiet

We stayed on a Friday night and it was packed but completely silent Decor was cute, and I’ve never seen more counter space in my life The only thing I can think of that someone might be upset about is the size of the bathroom Compared to everything else it was pretty small but super clean and well put together Highly recommend giving a try if your looking for a quiet clean space that has everything you could think of and more

We went for a trip for our anniversary, the staff was so friendlyThe upgraded our room, gave us completely drink and waived the parking feeThe rooms were clean and the beds comfortable 😌

Honestly if we plan another trip that way this will be the place we stayThey have a small restaurant and bar and Cafe It’s perfect Also the grounds are well kept and it’s a great walk around the court yard The fire pit is also a great place for a glass of wine and a moment of peaceAlso if you want to venture out there is plenty to do and see around hereThank you for the great service and stay

This team is clearly very well trained and adopts a consistent and unique culture I spent 2 nights on business and have a pretty high status with Marriott, so I have a pretty good perspective The associates are super friendly, on point and focused on the guest experience

My room was exceptionally clean and buttoned up – I also appreciated the upgrade!Management team is solid and attentive

Lots to choose from in this area so I thought I’d try a new one First time here and I spend a lot of time in Marriott properties Room smelled like sour milk

I always use the stairs and each floor had it’s own unique odor sort of like a cleaning rag that has been used a bit too long Parking is insufficient if you arrive late The food court staff is super friendly and while you have to pay, it’s much better than the reheated frozen stuff most places are dishing out since Covid Very convenient to freeway and dining is a short walk
