First impression is a good one Clean, bit of an odd layout for a hotel , but very friendly staff We booked on line very easily

We stayed two nights Had breakfast one morning There’s a buffet on Sunday morning for $16 a person However we decided to order fresh off the breakfast menu & were very pleased They did a great job with my special order of an egg white mushroom & cheese omelette cooked well Delicious!Only two disappointments: one was the pool being in disrepair That was one of the reasons we booked there I hope it’s repaired soonThe other was my husband had called the front desk with a question and no one answered the phoneBottom line, I really did like the modern interior design It’s a less expensive, good , clean , quiet place to sleep if you’re traveling in the area or going in and out of NYC

S Prosper

I liked it there Very easy to find off the highway The receptionist was efficient and helpful

I got to my room and it was clean and what I expected I didn’t hear any noise while sleeping, everything worked Even the cleaning staff was helpful I overall enjoyed my stay there I even asked for the receptionist to print my covid test for me and she was happy to help Will be back

Abigail Prichett

I had mixed feelings about this hotel There were strange sticky spots on the floor (I do not want to ponder what they could have been) The room was nice, newly renovated

You could tell they definitely cut corners and some things were barely hanging onto the walls The location wasn’t great, I mean it’s conveniently located off route 17 but I didn’t really feel safe going to and from my car At one point during our stay, there were a bunch of cop cars pulled up in front of the building Everything just felt a little sketchy But definitely not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in

It was great to be able to spread out, unpack, have guests in, and have use of a kitchen in a city where the rooms are normally so small that the bed takes up most of your living space The hotel isn’t swanky or chic, and the decor is pretty standard, but the employees are the shining diamond of this establishment From start to finish, whether it was the person taking our luggage at the curb, the cleaners who kept our room immaculate, or the front desk staff who simply couldn’t do enough for us, they were not only professional, but charming and gracious

I do hope that their employer treats them well because they are worth their weight in gold Kudos!

Booked a room at Gardens NYC hotel for our family vacation and had a great stay!!! The place is very clean, comfortable and they have great customer service, the staff is very friendly and they are always available and open to answer questions and make recommendations around the area, we definitely enjoy our stay and would love to go back Thank you so much Kris, Elvira and Nigel for taking such good care of us

Sukhpal Mahal

The worst visit to New York I’ve ever had The customer service was horrible The room was terrible! The room had a strange odor, and had no towels for us upon arrival

My wife and I waited 3 hours for fresh towels! If that wasn’t bad enough, upon the third call to the lobby the receptionist hung on me and said “you keep calling”! Stay away! They do not care for hospitality, they are only worried about making money!

We’ve stayed here quite a few times, the last time before our recent stay being pre-pandemic The location is convenient to the city, the beds are comfortable, breakfast is decent enough, parking is free My daughter and I stayed in room 804 and our experience was the room is really in need of some TLC

1 Temp control was hit-or-miss, the thermostat being well-handled and old2 Furniture in the living room is Salvation Army-grade and there’s way too much of it for the small space3 Remote control did not work4 Kitchen faucet leaked5 The toilet seat was loose and moved side-to-side and I was not about to reach under there to tighten it6 The coffee maker was fun; the little spring-loaded button in the bottom of the filter basket did not hit the carafe lid, so the coffee stayed in the basket rather than draining into the potThis used to be a nice hotel but it’s becoming run-down It’s clean for the most part and convenient to the ferry terminal, the parking is free, the access to the promenade restaurants and to Pier 115 is a plus, but it’s just starting to feel old and neglected We’ll probably stay here again but we might just try somewhere else

Aiden R

I stayed here for two nights and three days I felt good when I checked in The lady at the counter was very kind

I liked the room, too A room with two queen beds and a living room with a sofa were separated It is free breakfast time from 6 AM to 10 AM I was also satisfied with the quality of their food I will stay at here again when I come back to NYC next time

ortalama vatandas

Great location, great size of the room, very decent food for breakfast, free parking Only thing to improve would have been the furniture in the room was very dirty and old I used cleaning wipes for the chairs and I covered the sofa with my blanket that I carry in the car to make sure my clothing does not get any stains from the furniture

One of the chairs had literally some black stuff like machine oil or something Since the linens, tile surfaces and bedding were clean I did not complain Room had water front view so overall great value for the price I wish they had let us do late check out and did not barge in the room before we were even dressed yet to rush us out before the check out time The asian lady at the front desk was rather mean towards us but rest of the staff was very cordial

Stayed here one night for Valentines Day in 2022The place feels slightly poorly maintained Lots of scratches in the woodwork, stains and marks

More than you’d expect to see in a hotel of this caliberHowever, I’m still giving it 5 stars because all my experiences with the staff were perfection from the moment I walked in the door Room service breakfast was wonderful and immaculately prepared and presented Loved our view of Central Park I wish to god I didn’t have to also see Trump tower, but I got over it The sun rose right in front of us over Central Park LovelyThe gym and pool areas are very well maintained The pool was divine and once again the staff at the gym area were top notch

Bill Dong

Generally good experience overall The rooms and ambiance speak for themselves so I’ll focus more on a few problem I encountered Note the 4 star rating, obviously none of these were deal breakers

1 A group of wedding guests who I can only guess has lost their most basic social awareness to an abundance of drinks decided to make a town hall out of our quiet floor around 1:30AM Not a wonderful experience, especially for people whose sleep are not easily returned to once disrupted A call to the front desk returned the assurance that further disturbances will be addressed by a staff member At this point the damage was done and it was no use to pursue it much further2 The room service staff knocked on and tried to open my door on the first two days of our stay, despite our “Privacy” light being on the whole time I was only talking business meetings so it was no great offense, but imagine people enjoying a time of intimacy being so abruptly disturbed HOWEVER, I need to heavily emphasize that the room service staff, all staff in fact, were extortionately polite and helpful They work hard enough trying to keep us pesky guests happy so I understand if a little mistake is made on occasion

Chiana M

I had the most amazing stay at the Mandarin The staff was absolutely amazing From the outstanding doormen to the front desk and concierge

Special thank you to Daniel who went out of his way to send me a birthday card, dessert and champagne I stayed here for my birthday weekend just to enjoy a solo getaway The spa was just try it! I will only stay at the Mandarin in NY moving forward! Thank you for making my solo birthday special xo

I had an absolutely significant experience at Meadowlands Plaza Hotel with my grandchild for a reunion- The hotel is located in a wonderful area and has free parking The interior was outstandingly elegant

However, the lobby could’ve been more clean Furthermore, the elevator was a little dirty and smelt quite odd- The king banquet hall was extraordinarily clean and exquisite My grandchild and their friend had to perform at the reunion and Nicole let them rehearse in another room She was remarkably obliging and kind :)- The staff was outstandingly helpful, sweet, and the service was very fast However, they didn’t wear masks- Our room was fairly clean and had air conditioning, although the curtain opener was a bit dusty and sticky- Breakfast is free There is a wide variety of delicious food and a few drinksI would undoubtedly recommend staying here or planning an event here!

First impression when I stepped in, very neat and clean lobby and breakfast area Receptionists were helpful and quick to assist There are two entrance into the building: one is the main entrance and another around where the other side of the parking lot (back of the main entrance)

Right by the elevators there is a coffee table for their guestsRoom was nice and clean to me Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, body soap, hand soap were all provided Front desk also provide comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream, shower cap, etc if you forgot any of those Room has microwave and mini fridge Only complaint I have for the room would be the water in the shower stand There is completely no water pressure there Basically I feel like the water is dripping down instead of flushing out It took me awhile to feel my hair has rinsed off the shampoo and that i am actually clean If they increase the water flow, I believe this would be a good place to return for another stayI do like their complimentary breakfast from 7-10am Might not be the best I’ve had but definitely decent selection of good food And all day complimentary coffee…I like that

I have always had great stays at Hampton Inns and this one was great too The rooms were clean, in excellent condition, and comfortable The heating system worked well, which was important on the very cold night we stayed there

They also finally had the free hot breakfast service, which was a welcome accomodation This Hampton has free parking, which is important to me, since I drove a long distance to get there, however, their airport shuttle service was still not operating The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave me the option of free late checkout as I waited for my wife’s delayed flight to arrive

We had an exceptional stay at the Carlyle Our two-bedroom suite with its courtyard view, was extremely quiet and peaceful The suite itself was luxuriously appointed, the bar/restaurant was amazing as we enjoyed the jazz music, as well as the special champagne bar

The lobby was beautiful, providing for the perfect welcome each time we entered the propertyWe are especially grateful to the staff as their attentive service made our stay extra special

We were thoroughly impressed at the staff at The Carlyle They were friendly and professional and made personal connections with us They seemed happy to be there

The lobby and restaurant are gorgeous and the room product was classy and comfortableBemelman’s Bar was also a very positive experience

I stayed in a $2,200 a night suite that was not worth $500 The suite smelt very musty and our view was a bunch of smelly trash, garbage bags and construction junk not equipment I asked for extra toiletries and was brought half-used already opened toiletries so I had to call back and ask for new ones not used ones

To give me someone else’s used toiletries is just disgusting Our breakfast was cold and bacon was burnt to a crisp For this hotel and the price we paid to stay was horrible and would never stay or recommend this hotel again

Prime location – access to so many different shops and entertainment Nice rooms and affordable I enjoyed staying at this hotel but the biggest feature for me was the pool area

It is large and the seating area was very accommodating BUT the pool has not been open since the covid shut down So please be AWARE IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR THE POOL, IT HAS NOT BEEN OPEN! I have not stayed here because since then So my rating may be outdated at this point But I’ve always called for various occasions to book and see if the pool was available and it was never available So for those looking to book because it has a pool, you might as well skip past this hotel

April 6, 2022 Checking in again and this hotel is still excellent service from the manager to the front desk and service and to the maintenance mechanic They all go out of their way to accommodate

The rooms are great, quiet and very clean The atmosphere makes you feel at home, great view of river and the American Dream, and places to eat A must stay

I have ear plugs in and can still hear traffic revving by It is very loud here all hours of the day and night There are nights I can’t sleep without ear plugs

Very very thin walls as I can hear the person in the room next to mine on the phone at times The sound of kids crying fills the halls and can be heard through the wall Sticky floors in kitchen, elevator and stairwell Wouldn’t stay again!

I was told by a young guy at the front desk he couldn’t help When I called back again to asked to speak with a manager Andrea answered and made everything great She assigned us to a room that accommodated all of our requests Andrea is really a great asset to this hotel Thank you so much Andrea for fixing this stressful situation because we had been driving from Florida to New Jersey

Great place for NYC tourists, 7 min drive via the Holland tunnel or 15 min ferry ride from port imperialVery clean, great staff, good complimentary breakfast, and most important free parkingTarget, Starbucks, chipotle and much more 5 min walk from the hotelHighly recommend

Clean and quite rooms Cannot blame the hotel for the traffic and trucks around Entry and exit is definitely not a positive as it does seem from the back of the building

Staff is helpful absolutely courteous Rooms ( suites) are large and clean Need to advise the front desk of the room cleaning service in advance – due to covid restrictions and availability The suites have two tvs and switch on and off together ! Again not an hotel issue but need to align the remote close to the TV that needs to be shut else the remote controls both TV’s…Breakfast is typical – eggs were COLD !!!!

They never came after asking Multiple times for towels and trash removal to no avail finally the night clerk set up the security guard with towels and coffee I sat garbage outside room unfortunately! (YUCKY I KNOW) the breakfast was good! However the breakfast staff rude and unresponsive about anything? It’s not on my list to stay again unfortunately! And I am definitely letting my company know! On the good side two amazing restaurants near by an AMAZING ITALIAN/DELI ACROSS STREET and of course the Mexican restaurant across the street ! Other than that a total flop shame tho !

Rooms were very clean with a somewhat modern décor Water was not very hot in showers but they were large and comfortable Continental breakfast was available on all mornings of my stay but I would recommend getting to it early and not to wait

A downfall was that families with younger children were staying in rooms next to and above me which made for hearing of a lot of noise from the children playing, nothing to the fault of the hotel Staff was pleasant and made for the stay to be comforting Access to the hotel is difficult coming from Highway 17 due to limited places to turn

The staff were amazing, including the very fast service to change out my TV remote when I called down to ask for assistance for my TV: within 2 minutes a service person arrived to assist I recommend room 1404 for the Central Park view We had two rooms, and they were quite large for NYC standards

The breakfast was great; the chef visited all the tables to make sure the diners were happy The door men were great hailing taxis for me The beds were super comfy, and there was no street noise emanating from outside Kudos to the reception staff and the concierge, they were super helpful! I will always stay at the Essex; New York City is back!!!

This place is truly a gem In a city full of endlessly blaring noise, my room was quiet on weekend nights and I slept like a baby in the comfortable bed The location is awesome, I enjoyed the Irving Farm coffee shop across the street and the many restaurants nearby as well as the short walk to Central Park

By far the best part was the friendly and helpful staff I would stay here again for sure!

Absolutely loved this hotel! In walking distance of the subway, eateries, Central Park and entertainment The staff was very helpful with recommendations and service They took care of our room everyday (we stayed for a week) so we always came back to a clean room after a long day

The outside noise was kept out so we slept great! We will be back without a doubt

Our room was a great price considering we were staying in the Upper West Side We had a nice view and the room was big and clean The hotel is in a great central location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, especially the Museum of Natural History being within walking distance! Only giving this 4 stars and not 5 because on our second to last day the AC wasn’t working properly, but other than that I would totally recommend this place!

Very disappointed pool was not open for our children however I guess I looked and it said that on the website Unsure why though ? But I was impressed with my room very clean, and Spacious!!!! Awesome staff and location was great for people going to American dream or NYC Central Park was only 7miles ! Ideal for visiting a lot of amazing spots Elevator was making noises that WAS kinda scary though

But all in all I would give this hotel 38 out of 5!

I like this hotel It’s not the newest hotel around, but it’s certainly not rundown It’s definitely well maintained and clean

Cleaning staff were almost always visible and working My room had a tub, which I assume is standard I prefer showers Breakfast was good and service is excellent They have an outdoor enclosed half basketball court with an excellent vinyl floor and you can get a ball from reception to have some hoop fun The gym, though, is somewhat small and equipment a bit datedA big plus for me is the hotel’s location It is right opposite a small mall, which houses a Marshalls, Aldi and several eating options Several other restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive Don’t think that the close proximity to these shops make this hotel noisy or busy It’s very quiet and I felt very safe and secure I would undoubtedly stay here again
