I travel a lot and don’t impress easily This is hands-down the best hotel I’ve stayed at in years Not only is the hotel beautiful (check out that rooftop pool!) and the location amazing (shopping, historical architecture, and restaurants anyone??), the staff is TOP NOTCH

Imagine a hotel where employees seem to actually enjoy their jobs and genuinely care about the guests walking through the door Remember what old-school hospitality felt like? Kindness, helpfulness, empathy This hotel has THAT It was a great week, Friends Can’t wait to come back!

Lilithe Aislin

The hotel is really cool, but the true stars here are the staff Every single employee we interacted with was wonderful and eager to make sure we had the best experience possible They waved whenever we came in and even remembered our room number if we talked to them previously

I felt really appreciated and taken care of here The room was clean and looked very cool The location was perfect, within walking distance to the ocean and the aquarium as well as The Pike Outlets that give the location it’s name I highly recommend this place!

Supposed to be a 4 star property but did not find it even worth 1 star Horrible housekeeping- comforter spread on the bed without a cover and when I called guest services, no one picked the call and guy on the reception suggested me to come down to pick another comforter Am I really staying in a four star hotel? There is nothing in the room apart from a basic shower gel, shampoo and body lotion

You need to call guest service for everything and they will not pick the call most of the times Book and try to stay in this hotel at you will else suitable to avoid

I am utterly surprised that this hotel received such great ratings While parking ($15/self park) was fine, the spots were narrow and there were many times lack of parking if you stayed out too lateHowever, my biggest issue were the cockroaches

Yes you heard me In two different rooms, I have videos, photos, it was one of the most horrifying experiences I had ever had Imagine going to the toilet, opening up the toilet and finding a 4 inch cockroach in it That’s INSANE That’s literally what happened I tried flushing the toilet MULTIPLE times without availThe management (not the actual managers, just the staff), tried to help by moving us into different rooms but the different rooms ALSO had the same issue How can this hotel be operating still? What are their cleaning procedures? Forget covid, these roaches are very much alive!

Scott

Stayed here for work in the area It was 3 minutes from my job, so location couldn’t have been better It’s also close to the crooked duck and that place is great for local cuisine and a good beer selection for an eclectic beer nerd like myself

It’s a nice hotel and I recommend it for that There’s no breakfast of any sort, but they have coffee in the lobby Wifi, microwave, coffee maker, tiny fridge, nice bathroom and shower, comfy bed, what more does one really need?

Great hotel to stay in when your in Los Angles or Long BeachConvenient location- near beach, shops, public transportation, restaurantsRooms are spacious and super clean

Great breakfast serviceFriendly customer service always happy to helpI hope I will be back soon

Brent Molen

The interaction my wife had with those working the night of May 8th was not the best and I left a review that was not 5 stars The manager of this location read the review and noticed that more could have been done and he made it right I appreciated him understanding that mistakes can be made when your flight is canceled, rooms are booking up fast, and that when there is a communication break down mistakes can be made

It is a rare thing to actually have help in making things right I hope I get back to Long Beach someday so that I can personally thank him myself

I love history and I love haunted places, so this was a great place to explore from me You can explore so much of the ship at your leisure, or you can participate in a haunted tour I roamed around the ship from 2:30 a

m to 4:30 am by myself just exploring freely and spooking myself out We stayed in a cabin for a couple of nights and it was very comfortable They had a great mix of comfort and convenience along with original fittings, fixtures, decorations that really take you back in timeThe ship has numerous exhibits, Museum areas, tons of information to learn from The staff were very friendly, including the captain who we met at one of the bars on board – he was not drinking, just doing the rounds and introducing himselfWe ate at the Winston Churchill restaurant, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was phenomenal I enjoyed being on this ship so much and I would love to go back

SBBwasaight Vuong

My wife and I stayed at the Queen Mary for our honeymoon in 2017 and it was the best hotel stay we’ve yet had They upgraded our room for free, delivered us champagne and chocolate Strawberries as a wedding present, and gave us a free ghost tour on our last day The ship itself is a fun little museum experience and getting to have coffee on the deck is something you don’t want to miss

I’m sad to hear about all the recent issues the ship has had, I really recommend seeing it while you still can

Great boutique hotel to stay at The staff was very friendly and helpful They helped with our heavy luggage upstairs

Room was clean and comfortable It’s a 15 min drive to the Carnival port, 15 min walk to Alamitos beach, great shopping area with delicious restaurants near by Area was safe Shout out to Anthony and Kevin for helping us out carrying our luggage upstairs

Julie Cordova

Would I go back? Yes For the comfy bed and cute room and great location to a night sceneThe very stained hall carpet had me worried as we made our way up a steep stairwell to the room, but once inside I was pleasantly surprised

A better coffee maker would bump up my score one star or half a star for sure but soft towels would definitely improve my rating (Give them a second wash with white vinegar, they’ll soften right up)Never saw the office open Everything from check-in to checkout was self-serve

Lydia Kurtz

Very small rooms, but charming in their own right If you’re going to be out and about all day and not spend much time inside, its ideal The location cannot be beat, and the cost of the rooms is super affordable, I was shocked I could book somewhere that was so inexpensive, yet be in the middle of downtown long beach

The staff is very friendly and you can actually contact them via text! Other than that they are very hands-off, it feels more like coming back to an apartment because you don’t interact with the front desk at all after checking inAs for drawbacks, my only complaint would have to be the wifi connection sputtering on and off every 5 minutes Any time I wanted to load a page on my phone I had to turn the wifi off&on again, and at one point ask the staff to reset the router

I am not one to leave reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience here because it was so great! Our family of six (including 4 kids ages 8-16) stayed here for 5 nights in August 2022 It was the perfect hotel for our family Things we appreciated were:• Incredibly friendly staff, from front desk to housekeeping

Easily the best service we have ever had at this type of hotel• Great breakfast including waffles with toppings daily, rotating hot selections, pastries, cereal, etc• Pool with long hours- it’s open til 10 PM It was great to come back and swim after we spent the day out at activities It also has a great outdoor grilling area; front desk has grilling supplies• Hot Tub• Outdoor hang out space including bags, ping pong, and green space to throw a ball around• Very new and clean• Excellent room layout- ours had one room with kitchen and pull out couch and another with 2 beds/bath• Centrally located- while there are not a ton of tourist attractions in the immediate area, it is easy to get to Disneyland and not bad getting to Universal Studios, Hollywood, Santa Monica, etc Plus, it’s close to Target, fast food, and grocery stores Also convenient to LAX, we flew into there because it was cheaper than Long Beach (also they had better rental car options for our big family)• New and cleanWe are headed to another Homewood Suites in San Diego and I hope it’s as great as this one!

Rita

This spot is right next to the airport with a free shuttle on call A continental breakfast is included and is very tasty with hot food, a variety of coffee, teas, and fruits While I can appreciate the updated showers in the rooms with glass doors, the floors are thin

If you walk to hard the people below you will definitely hear it, so maybe try for a top floor room Also, nice pool area and a variety of shops and food very nearby

Michelle Fernandez

This was our first stay away from home since before COVID-19 began When we planned our one night stay we imagine a place where we as a family can have peace of mind, unwind and relax That’s taking into consideration comfort, cleanliness, accomodations, and customer service

This place is perfectly located near restaurants and shopping center just a walk or short drive away Lobby, pool, and all other amenities are nice and clean Our room #261 “seemed” clean but come bed time I was VERY surprised when I WOKE UP TO VERY PERSISTENT BED BUGS in the middle of the night, which I then found and killed one out of most likely many(***I also recorded and took pictures of said BED BUG) I then insisted in searching my children AND both beds where my children slept numerous times in the night and was robbed of my peace As I lay there in paranoia and fearing of BED BUG bites and the possibility of them returning home with us I finally nodded off I woke up the next morning with 2 bites and my daughter who had slept on the same bed with me had multiple bites which her reaction was way worse than mine because hers are really raised to the touch and crazy itchy I gave it three stars because other than the bugs my family really loved the pool and location was great come dinner time If the rooms were honestly clean and well maintained bed bugs shouldn’t be an issue EVER I find it really disturbing, disgusting, and disappointing that housekeeping is lacking and obviously overlooking things like this, I notified the front desk at checkout the next morning, also mentioned I had recorded video which she wasn’t interested in watching and just told me that they had to make their own search and investigation before going forward Still waiting to hear back

Stayed at the Cove on August 12th for a two-night mini girls trip with my best friend and we couldn’t have had a better stay The hotel was clean & well updated with a beautiful heated pool, assorted comfortable chairs/cabanas for lounging & even fun life-size games suitable for kids and adults alike! By far, one of the best things about the hotel was the service From checking-in to the morning and night bar service, everything was super convenient

Above all else, the staff made a great impression on us Every worker was extremely attentive & accommodating, but especially a staff member named Britt! We had a few small requests that she went above and beyond to fill with a smile on her face She seemed to be extremely knowledgeable and comfortable working in many areas of the hotel & made our stay super relaxing and memorable Thanks for an amazing stay, The Cove (& Britt)! We will be back again! Kay & Michelle

As of June 2022, the Cove is an underrated and hidden gem of a hotel in the Long Beach area that doesn’t break the bank The rooms are renovated with modern colors and amenities along with being poolside There are also lots of places to hang out to enjoy the beautiful weather

The staff are some of the most helpful and nicest staff I’ve interacted with and they’ve made the experience wonderful I would say the downsides are the wifi signals are weak in the rooms (stronger by the front office) and that some clients do not adhere to the quiet time policies

Dan Larson

Rooms were great, super spacious, with lots of room to stretch out Oddly, the master suite does not have a lock for the door, which was weirdCool was clean and the kids loved it, it was also super cool how they had giant chess and giant connect four

All the staff was super friendly – would absolutely recommend to anyone

I stayed here with friends over the weekend because it was recommended by family who also stayed a while back To say I was blown away is an understatement! The front desk staff were knowledgeable about the area and I am so happy that we took their recommendations of activities, dining, night life, and breakfast Everything was walking distance so we really felt like locals

Rooms are newly renovated and well kept Parking is understandly busy since they are in a downtown location but they made arrangements with another property to allows us to park there for a small fee I’m just happy that we didn’t have to find street parking and run the risk of getting a ticket! Overall, the stay was amazing I recommed to families, business travelers, individuals, girls trips, literally anyone! I wish I could give more than 5 stars I will be coming back and booking directly with them!

Mindy Jo

This was a very cute little place to stay We loved it and loved it even more because next door was the best little place to eat Definitely recommend

The only real reason for 4 stars is that the Wi-Fi was pretty much non existent It was horrible Also, even with the cute little remodel, it’s kind of silly that there is only one tv mounted on the wall and you can’t see it from the other bed because it’s like another roomI would stay again

The warm cookies make the entire visit worth it

except for coffee maker not working and no place for smokers what a beautiful place to have a wedding! Would prefer they don’t disassemble the wedding 3 minutes after the bride walks the aisle had the altar gone before she came back for photos but such a nice and fun place! Highly recommended loved the view and all the office staff! Very fun!

Samantha Bucher

The front desk staff and bar staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful The hotel is older but the rooms are very nice Beds are comfortable

Our AC wasn’t working properly and it was pretty warm in our room Also the bathroom sink drained slow and there is a musty smell in elevator and bathroom Not sure if it’s due to age or being on the water But overall a nice hotel I would return

Thad Caperton

Large, bright, sorta updated rooms (could use some tech upgrades and MANY more outlets by bed), with imported sand beach overlooking the water, multiple outdoor spaces, nice pool with bar and a great restaurant where everyone in my large group was very pleased with their meal We had a business meeting on site and the staff was were very accommodating, served delicious catered food and set up an outdoor bar for us I’m not familiar with the area, but it was a great spot for a team retreat

There’s a nice gym on site, jet skis and bikes to rent and it’s a quick walk over to town

Cleanliness is up to Hilton’s excellent standards! I have been traveling a lot over the past six weeks, and I prefer to stay in the three star or four star chains No one, absolutely no room compared to the cleanliness of this one! The bathroom was immaculate and well appointed, the shower hot and powerful The bed was so comfortable and clean, well made up with Hilton’s service staff white linens that gave me confidence in my night sleep! The room was spacious and clean, with a large closet, desk and chair, and additional side chair

Their were plenty of outlets built into the nightstands, other furniture, and lamps to accommodate both my husband and me with all our devices needing a charge! It was only for a night, staying over in Long Beach for 24 hours before we were on our way, but I wished we could have stayed longer Oh, and the service was excellent! I’ll be back next time!

Melissa Castillo

If I could give zero stars I would My family and I planed a weekend getaway for my sister 21st birthday! We we’re all excited and ready to check into our hotel When we arrived at 10:00pm we were told that they were short on cleaning staff and that they did not have a room ready for us

We had to wait for the cleaning crew to clean a room for of for about 2 hours When we finally got to our room it was poorly cleaned and smelled like smoke In addition we did not get the dune queen beds to paid for but 2 full size beds The manager Ashley was nice and tried to compensate us but in my opinion it just was not enough To me there is no excuse good enough for there not to be a clean room ready for guests especially by 10pm My family and I only stayed one night and had a very early day ahead of us so we didn’t complain any further But our experience here was extremely disappointing and we will never stay here again The beds was uncomfortable, the room decor of falling apart The mini fridge is broken, the shower was stained yellow, the bathroom floor did not look like it had been mopped, there was water damage in the ceiling, and overall the room did not feel sanitary or safe To any guest looking to say at this hotel I recommend looking for another hotel

Bertha Martinez

I have never in my life left a review but wow was I amazed with this It should be noted that if I could leave no stars I would I reserved the room for my parents and grandmother

The check in was supposed to be at 4pm They were not able to get a room until almost 11pm The receptionist would keep informing my mom that they did not have a room available because they did not have enough house keeping That is something that as a guest you should not have to be worried about especially if you have already paid for an reserved a room Well, not only did my parents not get their room way later than check in but I have also been charged twice for the room I have tried calling the hotel but every time I press the option 0 to speak directly to someone the call hangs up So I tried one of the other options to speak with someone else and all I got was a voicemail So now not only am I down almost $500 but the service was extremely horrible I specifically chose the Hilton because of their well known service but I’m sure that I would’ve gotten something better for half the price elsewhere

Everything about this place was great When I called I got great service, when we checked in we got great, friendly service, when we had a question they were very friendly, when we checked out we had great, friendly service They are located 5 minutes from the Long Beach Airport and right off the highway

There is also a restaurant here, which we didn’t eat at But also within walking distance is plenty of other places to eat This place is worth every penny spent The beds are very comfortable, you will just melt into the bed They also have a shuttle to the airport and to the cruise port

Bernadette Pico

Parked here for 7 days because I was flying out of state from the Long Beach airport I did not purchase online but instead had walked in The staff, particularly the Filipino lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful

She advised me that the shuttle wasn’t operating that day, offered to have a taxi pick us up to take us to the airport and would cover the cost Was given a parking placard to hang on the dash, and when I returned to the lobby, the taxi was there waiting for me

Hyper Nova

Major problems were the lack of parking in which you have to pay for, why pay for parking when we aren’t even guaranteed parking at the hotel The second level parking had this weird ledge on the ramp to get up and it scraps the bottom of the car and makes a terrible noise Rooms were clean and nice, a lot of towels but not a lot of toilet paper

Loved the fitness center, pool, jacuzzi and grill 4/5

There were several restaurants within walking distance which was convenient I was also pleased the the variety and quality of the breakfast However, the reasons for the 1 star are as follows: the most concerning issue are very thin walls Flying in from the east coast, I’m going to bed early and I can easily hear all of my neighbors even though they are only speaking in conversational tones Second, charging for parking in an area where there is no shortage of parking is simply a cash grab and a “hidden fee” My room didn’t have an iron and it was quite a debacle to get one In fact, I tried calling the manager, Gabriela and she never answered her phone or returned my e-mails Finally, the elevator doors are set to try to close pretty aggressively and they hit me pretty hard, knocking my coffee on my shirt through the lid (I ended up having to buy another shirt) All in all, I wish it would have been a great stay but it wasn’t

Really nice hotel Rooms are well kept and look nice Staff is friendly and helpful

Large lobby area, with free breakfast for guestsAnother thing I like is they only clean your room on request You don’t have to worry about leaving the “Do Not Disturb” tag on your door every dayStayed here for work, and sounds like my company has used this place many times when stuff come to our site in Long Beach Will be happy to come back

I travel 3 to 4 times a month for my company whose preferred hotel is Hilton In doing so I have become very accustomed to Hilton’s standards and this affiliate is not living up to itFirst the room I was in was barely big enough to fit my two suit cases which were squeezed into a corner

The lamp shed on the desk was broken and continuously fell down I did not have an ironing board in my room, however they did bring one sometime while I was at work The pillowswow the pillows! I used all four and it still felt like I was lying directly on the mattressNow let’s move to customer service I headed in to work at 3:40AM and stopped by the front desk to place a room service request for the following day which was Monday Well, that day came and upon my late return to my room I noticed it had not been touched Asking the front desk they had determined that the attendant on duty had not placed the request Then proceeded to ask me for a description of the person I asked her if it was normal for them to not have a schedule of their staff hours worked I had asked for towels to be sent to my room and waited for them to arrive so I could bathe and get ready for another early day Well it took them nearly 2 hours to bring me the towelsNow, I was ready to hear a scripted apology but to my surprise there was no one there and the towels were left in a plastic bag on the floor at the door Again, very familiar with Hilton standards and this is certainly not it I have another business trip out there and I am opting to travel an extra few miles just to avoid staying at this hotel I am going to miss the restaurants across the street as they are very good It just is not worth being so uncomfortable for my stayThe location is great and the hotel itself is lovely but for me the greatness stopped there I do have photos but I don’t think that it is fair to post them as not all Hilton affiliates are like this Attitude reflects leadership and this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth that I won’t soon forget

What a Hotel Truly a classy place If it was possible to give more stars this could be it

When it comes to taking care of your guests This is it From the front desk to the hotel staff Impeccable service Do you wanna have exceptional service ask for “Andy” He’s why we enjoyed our stay here Doing the small things Overall the staff is some of the best I’ve seen and had the true pleasure of meeting For the breakfast buffet Absolutely yum Great variety of foods, juices and fresh fruit Oatmeal is yum Add your to it and enjoy Pastries are good Double Chocolate muffins are the best They also have a coffee shop in the lobby of this hotel Especially good in the morning or a afternoon smoothie If you’re visiting Long Beach this is it Close enough to everything A huge shout out to “Andy” for making it wonderful Can’t wait to go back

We’re frequent travelers and stay at Marriott brand hotels Exceptional people, service and food at this hotel The breakfast is delicious and you have many options

The bar in lobby makes great cocktails Wish they’d switch to a local coffee roaster to match the quality of their food and beverages Banquet services also great Enjoyed an evening on the patio Great executive chef staffed one of the stations The bar service at meetings was top shelf Even a delish margarita Pro-tip: a few people we know complained that rooms were hot Ours was, too Called for help – it was fixed within 10 minutes The problem was a clogged filter

Shannon Samojen

Stayed there for a convention at the Long Beach convention center The walk to the convention center was further than I thought but still doable The plus side of this hotel is that there are plenty of places around to grab food and the cafe in the hotel had a great grab and go breakfast selection (for a fee)

The downside: the room smelled terrible of smoke (as well as the overall hotel) I can’t believe I was placed in a room that smelled so pungent We also had a barking dog into the late hours next to us and an alarm clock in the next room that went off in the early morning It was also quite loud in the room from outside noise and noise from the hallway The quality of the hotel was not up to par with the price per room

This is a decent 3 star hotel right across the LA River from Long Beach and near the Port of Long Beach I stayed here for one night with 6 family members and we all had a nice stay here The views from the higher floors are very nice as you get a view of downtown Long Beach as well as the port of Long Beach

The room we stayed in included a kitchenette which is very nice and convenient The rooms, including the bathroom, are nice and clean And one of the best features of this hotel is the breakfast, which is served every morning and they had many breakfast items to select from Overall, it was a nice relaxing stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a 3 star hotel in the Long Beach area

We found a leftover food item in the fridge and we called front desk right away The lady who picked up the call apologized and offered someone to clean up the room for us, but we are in a rush to leave the hotel and don’t want anyone to get into our room so we declined the offer Then she said we could speak with the manager when we returned to the hotel

Manager Art did not provide any compensation for the situationParking is free, which is great Check-in is smooth and the hotel lobby has a view to the pool, feel relaxingWe had a corner room facing the airport Lots of sunlight in the room (and also the corridor/hallway in the public area)The room has proper glassware, a plus for wine and spirt drinkers ;)Bathroom looks updated and I love that the hand sink is separated from the shower and toilet It definitely helps when one person is using the toilet and another person is getting their make up done outside Good water pressure for the shower, and the towels are plush“This Works” amenity smell great and foam up nicelyRoom is a bit on the small side for North American standard

They don’t really look like professional, more casual family running hotelBreakfast is good enough, I like the kitchenett facility very useful when I don’t wanna dine out Parking charge is a bit too pricey

I like they offer coffee and tea through the day and if lucky you can have homemade style cookies Those were very delicious!

Clean, crisp, cosmopolitan, and comfortable The hotel is centrally located in downtown, across the street from the convention center, and just a 20 min walk or 4 min drive to the Queen Mary The rooms are well kept and very comfortable

We slept well The room was quiet with the ac on, and the bed and linens felt fresh We had a beautiful view of the city with the harbor in the distance The service was unwelcoming at times and a little off-putting They offered us a complimentary breakfast due to our status level, but it closed at 11 am on Sunday BTW, the Starbucks closes at 11:30 So, if you have a late night on Saturday, you may have trouble finding a bite to eat Parking was costly, $38 per night

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean The front desk staff is amazing! I didn’t give it 5 stars because I didn’t like that there were no servers out by the pool to order drinks or snacks and then down at the lobby bar/restaurant if you sit outside you have to be your own server for your drinks, they did run the food out which was nice I’d definitely stay here again! It’s in a nice spot, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and activities!

The Urias Life

Lovely stay We stayed here for three days and really enjoyed the time The hotel has the small market that Marriotts usually have

Restaurant and buffet Bar, sitting areas in and outside with large fire pits Pool table behind the bar Bar tender was a little slow on preparing the drinks and we still enjoyed our drinks Secured parking All staffing was nice and friendly

Absolutely stunning hotel! The staff were so friendly, the workout room was clean and had lots of options! The rooms were large, well-maintained, and quiet!Just be aware, for the beds, they use a spring mattress so it’s SUPER bouncy The air conditioning unit is pretty quiet Also, breakfast is included and they were a little slow getting food out and ready for guests, but there is a lovely outdoor area to eat and relax! We’ll definitely use this location again!

Lukas

Rooms are large and nice, the beds are comfortable I have worked in the room for a bit every day with no complaints Staff is friendly and helpful and the location is also quite good, conveniently off the 405

However, one deduction: The breakfast buffet is a little lackluster and unappealing to the eye, even if the food is mostly OK The breakfast room smells of frying oil as the food is prepared in the same room, and the smell gets into your clothes The breakfast selection could be improved

Paola Zuniga

Me and my husband just spent three nights and everything was great, BUT during breakfast we were able to meet the wonderful Belinda, one of the kindest human being I have ever known She was patient and attentive with all guests and her coworkers and she is absolutely the reason I am leaving this review Thank you Kasia at the front desk too!
