JJ Johnson (JJs2Cents Vlog)

We stayed for about 7 weeks They cleaned the room completely 1 time in that whole period Additionally they changed the sheets on the beds two other times

The cleaning staff did not perform even close to expectations We have stayed at Hilton brand hotels for over two decades and this was the worst experience yet because of the lack of professional and reliable cleaning staff Lastly, the back stairwell stunk awfully almost the whole time we were there It smelled as though someone was smoking blunts in it daily They attempted to open the doors and clean it a couple times but it consistently smelled awful The front desk staff was completely apathetic and unresponsive They were polite But never really followed through with any level of customer care or appreciation Also the management staff or whoever runs the credit card authorizations repeatedly (more than 10 times) ran nearly 3 times the authorizations that were required for the week This had the effect of tying up the available credit on my business expense travel card I contacted the management staff about this 4 times and it was never fixed Unfortunately I cannot recommend staying at this hotel I know I certainly will not ever stay there again Additionally, the hotel parking is not friendly for oversized vehicles or vehicles with trailers If you are hauling a trailer you will likely have to disconnect the trailer and park your vehicle next to it Otherwise you will take up multiple spots which will likely cause someone to not have a spot because the lot is so small Furthermore, the bathroom shower rod was broken and barely hanging on the wall and the shower curtain was all moldy and nasty In the two decades of staying with Hilton brand hotels I have never once had any of these issues or written a bad review But this experience required someone to say something because the upper level management needs to know what is going on so that it can be fixed It felt like we were staying in a very low quality road side motel not a hotel that charges two hundred dollars per night

My sister and I took our kids here for an overnight getaway 2 adults 4 kids in their suite, it was Fantastic! Plenty of room for the kids to play plus plenty of room to sleep We brought an air mattress just in case, yet we never took it out of the car

We had an incident with the bathroom exhaust heater, it melted the plastic oddly enough and it smelled like burnt plastic in our entire room, they with no hesitation switched our room immediately Same room just different floorOur kids loved the pool and unlike other places it stays open later than usual Breakfast was also fantastic I really can’t think of anything that we disliked about this place It was great!

Catfished again by someone who must have taken the hotel photos 10 years ago The room looks very little like the pictures The couch is stained so bad that I won’t even sit on it

Chunks of wood missing from the dressers, end tables, desk etc The room smells like wet dog and the carpet is absolutely filthy My once white socks are literally black I gave 3 stars, because the price is great Also, know that you will hear planes (very loud and clear) all day and night, which I expected, but others might not think about The kitchen is dirty, dirty dishes in the dishwasher (fridge is very clean though) The bed is awful, very very uncomfortable but the pillows are nice and linens are clean In summary, do not expect to find what you saw in the photos They are supposedly under renovation, so hopefully this will change eventually, but I would never stay here again You definitely get what you pay for here, and to some people I’m sure this is fine, but just don’t expect luxury or an updated space I called the front desk to let them know about the couch stains and they basically said, yea we know, but nothing we can do about it and noted it on my room account Not their fault, they were very nice

My husband and I booked the Double Tree by Hilton for our wedding block for our October 2021 wedding We also hosted an “after reception bash” in their Penstock Room and a “farewell breakfast” in the Three Rivers Ballroom The hotel is beautiful, is in a convenient location near many restaurants, and was affordable for our guests! Staff were extremely responsive throughout the planning process, and everything turned out great! They were extremely helpful and offered recommendations when needed (such as when we had to move the breakfast to a different location within the hotel due to the number of anticipated guests)

They were able to make sure our guests got the welcome favors we prepared when they checked into the hotel The bartenders were all great as well! The food at the breakfast was delicious, and they were able to accommodate various food allergies We were incredibly happy with everything, and our guests had a wonderful experience at the hotel celebrating our wedding that weekend! And of course – the cookies when you check in are always a plus! 😊

There is a significant lack of amenities for a hotel at this price point Breakfast is $15 per person for a standard continental breakfast that would be free at other hotels Rooms do not have any microwaves

Bathrooms do not have fans EtcWe asked for a cot for an additional person, and the mattress was so thin that every individual spring could be felt It was also very difficult to move furniture in order to accommodate the cotThe reason I’ve given two stars is that the staff here are lovely and work very hard to do what they can We were able to obtain additional bedding to try and pad the thin mattress We got a box fan from the front desk to dry out the bathroom EtcI would not recommend staying at this hotel, even for the convenience of the conference center Too much is missing

Natasha Simeon-St.Denis

We had absolutely no complaints with Doubletree Manchester We loved everything about our stay The hotel was beautiful, clean and centrally located

The rooms were updated, spacious and clean The staff, fantastic The absolute best part of our stay was Diana at the front desk She is so awesome! I honestly wish she was the person checking me in anywhere I travel, just always Diana!!!!

We came in and stayed with a bunch of hockey players I know there was other sports teams there also too, so I can only imagine how chaotic it must have been for the employees The kids had a good time though

The rooms were good size with 2 TVs Beds were fairly comfortable I thought and there was pump style shampoo, conditioner, and body wash right on wall in the shower, which helped conservative what I keep in my travel bag There is a little corner store in the lobby for drinks and some snacks

Meredith Hale

The staff here is extremely friendly, but we had some issues with our stay First, the room wasn’t the nicest/cleanest- missing shower curtain and stained floors/wall/furniture Second, the breakfast buffet options were very limited and usually not good which was really disappointing

Third, the lock on our door ran out of batteries and no one on site knew how to change it so they had to call someone in and after 2 hours including a failed attempt, I finally got back in, but they did nothing to accommodate me and my toddler while were stuck waiting

Gabrielle Lavallee

Friendly staff, clean rooms, enjoyable hot breakfast and small but clean well kept pool the kids really enjoyed it! ☺️ The only problem we had on the 1st night was a car alarm went off at 5am and continued going off for several hours The next morning at 8am we had workers right under our window being loud spraying mulch On our last two days the elevator broke down

I would stay there again with my family i think our experience was unfortunate but not everyone would experience the same ☺️

Convenient to the airport, responsive shuttle, friendly staff We used points for our stay so am not sure how fair the price is Rooms were clean, TV was large (for a hotel), but there was no breakfast included

Not a big deal, but FYI for those looking for a place with breakfast There is a 50’s diner attached to the hotel and I’m sure they have a varied menu, but we didn’t eat there

Andrew Pearson

Front desk person and hotel attendant knocked on my door at 2 am because THEY gave me the wrong room and asked me to switch rooms at 2 AM Of course I didn’t, it’s 2:30 am , my kids are sleeping and I am not opening the door for the front desk person and another random person Then they called the cops on me – I had 6 cops outside my hotel room at 2 AM with my kids inside sleeping

Traumatic and scary Please avoid if you can They don’t have decent and respectful administrative staff in place

While traveling north, I decided to stay here for an evening I booked late in the day and there were no issues checking in They do have coffee and tea available all the time and a hot breakfast in the morning

The food was pretty good This hotel is cleaner compared to others I’ve stayed in the past from the area This hotel is right off of a highway so it is really loud from the traffic It is personally no issue for me to hear the traffic but for some it might be an issue The only issue I did have was that my digital clock in the room was running fast I fixed the clock timing twice during my stay but by the next morning it was nearly 40 minutes ahead of time But, again, fine as I was able to rely on my phone and my watch to wake me

Susan Harris

Excellent We would stay there again We came in as an emergency for 1 night late April 3/April 4 after our disaster with a late check in at Super 8 and an unaccommodating overnight staff

So, we called Sleep Inn and she was so nicetold us to come right overeven though it was probably 2 am or so She was very helpful and personable at the desk We ended up relaxing for a second day/night and found everything including the breakfast buffet to be outstanding

f r

Pretty Comfortable and accommodating for the listed prices Breakfast choices was a little narrow but it was actually very enjoyableBedrooms where clean and sanitary and there is even a athletics room

There is a large amount of parking area for even busier daysWhile not a fancy hotel Its very pleasant for within its ranged price Great for staying over the night

Checking in was fine The person at the front desk was so helpful The parking lot was small and cramped, but manageable

The room was nice, clean and comfortableWhen we came downstairs in the morning the front desk clerk was sleeping Not just dozing I could hear them snoring all the way from the elevator The shuttle was scheduled for 4 am By 4:05 I checked with the clerk to make sure they were coming and was told they were running 5 minutes late When I told them they were already 5 minutes late I was assured they’d come soon They were almost 15 minutes late and the car was still mostly frozenThe shuttle from the airport was another story Our flight got delayed multiple times The last time was when we were already on the plane so we couldn’t notify them I called them the moment we landed and was told that the shuttle had already left but they’d be sent back to get us They said it would be about 1/2 an hour I called 20 minutes later to find out what kind of car they were driving We went outside to wait Another 15 minute wait and I called them again At that point I was told that the last shuttle was gone and that was it It wasn’t until I pressed them that they’d told me the shuttle was coming back that they said they’d get them Ultimately we waited for over an hour for the shuttle, most of it in the middle of the night in the freezing cold in Manchester There was no apology Yes, our flight was delayed, but if I hadn’t called back and spoken up, they wouldn’t have ever sent the shuttle as promised I’m never using their unreliable shuttle service again

Hotel is run down looks like a lot of guest we’re long term tenants or using it for a flop house Pool and gym not open we’re told they close at 7 Toilet pipe showing from the back and pretty dated ice machine didn’t work

Did not feel safe it seemed more like a crack house I am really shocked it’s even allowed to carry the choice name For the price it was not worth it

Dosu Kinuta

When traveling I don’t typically stay at Choice hotels but after this stay they are winning some brand loyalty from me If in future stays I get the same level of customer service as I did from the front desk employee Steff I will quickly become a convertee Steff was great, my interactions with her made me look past the issues with the bathroom and such in my room

I had been hesitant to stay for more than one night as a result of past experiences and was planning on switching hotels for my second day here as I am an athlete and really needed a comfortable rest after what Ive been going through But from my good experience with Steff I decided to just extend my stay another night and save myself the trouble of changing hotels The rooms are in need of some updating, the location is convenient Thanks for having meInstagram: @thedosukinuta

Good place to stay Like everywhere, they also is hit by short staff Breakfast is kind of busy for two reasons: it closes at 9:30 AM, which is kind of too early, it’s a vacation place, and it should be at least open to 10:00 AM so that people don’t have to come at the same time

Another reason is they are short of staff But overall, a nice place to be with your family It’s only 7 minutes away from the Bar Harbor downtown

Well to start there was dog food, yes I said dog food all over the carpet ( someone must have snuck in a dog and no one vacuumed) The toilet would run for 15 min after flushing NO SOAP in the shower! when I asked for some they said the entire hotel was out of the liquid soap in the shower and brought me a tiny bar, like too small to use

The AC started to smell after a while and I woke up stuffed, and with a sore throat ( been out of that room for a few hours now and I feel fine) disappointing

Best hotel stay of our trip We had excellent customer service, and wonderful beds We loved our room so much, we decided to make the hotel our base for the next day too

The girl at the front desk was just so nice She was new and overwhelmed with bookings, & handling it all by herself, yet still delivered fantastic customer service

Nick “Uncle Doug” Salve

Had a flight out of MHT and the shuttle service and park & fly options were convenient The desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Pretty conveniently located near downtown so going out for dinner was a short drive However, at $200/night I kinda had higher expectations of the hotel

The rooms were a bit dirty and smelled like stale cigarettes The paint was peeling off the ceiling The pool also smelled of stale cigarettes (also the spa was filled in with concrete) The cafe was closed and the in-room coffee maker brewed something that tasted more like hot water than coffee We booked this hotel because we didn’t want to stay at a cheap motel the night before our vacation but aside from the excellent staff (they really were great) I think we probably should have saved the cash and stayed somewhere else

David Lawrence

I was traveling for work with colleagues One colleague was given a room to check into that had a family in it already Another colleague arrived back at the hotel to find his possessions had been removed from his room and a different guest was inside his room

No real answer from the front desk about why this happened I’ve been taking all my things out of my room every day out of concern that I’m next

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights Everything was perfect, starting with the flooring No carpets!! This should be a minimum standard for any hotel

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpfulThe breakfast was good, though it was kind of crowdedThe location is perfect, just off the highway, and a very short walk to downtown Elm Street where you can find excellent restaurants and bars for a few drinksI highly recommend this hotel and hope to have the opportunity to stay there again

Aditya Narayanan

Very nice hotel in the heart of Manchester! The breakfast selection is great, with pancakes, toast, granola bowls, and oatmeal being available The rooms are clean and spacious Like the other Tru brand hotels, it also has this unique modern touch which I prefer

The location is very convenient, because it is only a short walk away from various restaurants and bars on Elm Street Highly recommend!

DSG

This is a nice hotel The staff is extremely helpful They do offer a great free hot and cold breakfast

The food is delicious They are pet friendly The lobby area is modern They have modern seating with places to gather with friends or smaller separate spaces with a fresh look for using laptops and other devices They also have a billiard ( pool ) table, and a small market with foods and drinks As for the rooms Although the building is still new and clean, plus they have modern TV’s, soap dispensers, USB charging lamps and more, I did find the room to be very small And they do charge for parking I feel the first vehicle should be free and any additional vehicles should have a charge If it wasn’t for the pay to park and the small room, I would then give 5 stars For those 2 reasons, I can only give 4 stars I would stay here again if needed, but there are other hotels in the area for the same price range

Rooms haven’t been updated in awhile Color scheme gives it away TV was small, relatively

Room felt small and narrow Otherwise very clean, no issues Bathroom door didn’t latch closed The strike plate and the knob didn’t line up in the slightest The provided USB charger on the nightstand generated a high pitch hum when a device was charging, the kind that only young people can hear No digital room key available, door locks still used mag stripesBreakfast was pretty good I was very disappointed that the tray labeled waffles had prepackaged waffles in it which were not worth the calories Even worse, the provided juice cups were actually the waffle batter cups for a real waffle maker, so that means there was one somewhere The rest of the breakfast was good with plenty of variety Can’t really complainOverall the place is fine This would be good for a few nights but I wouldn’t use this place for an extended stay

Jessica

Not bad for a last minute booking and one night stay Rooms are relatively clean (we did find goldfish crackers and crumbs in the pull out), but small and dated No linens for the pull out, but I suppose we could have gotten some if we asked

Staff was helpful and friendly The hot breakfast was inedible, but cereal, muffins and yogurt were fine for us Wouldn’t necessarily book again given more time, but not terrible in a pinch

Tom H

If you need a place to stay then this hotel is fine The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean but maybe due for renovation – frayed carpets, etc Just don’t expect anything luxurious

Wifi was good but we only started overnight and I didn’t have time to check out the pool or fitness area Included breakfast was mostly edible While the sausage was bad and the eggs bland they also had oatmeal, waffles, etc so most people should be able to find something to get through the morning

I stay at this location frequently, and have always been impressed with the staff, and level of serviceThe manager Fiona, is always accommodating, and friendly when I’m either booking by phone, or arrivingThe rooms are always clean, well kept, working A/C, cold fridge, and of course phone charging ports that work! (if you know you know)

Recently, I made a booking mistake for the wrong date, and showed up for my room a day later than my reservationThe manager was able to find a couple of rooms at the last second to help us out I was expecting to be put in a broom closet with a bed at that point! The rooms we got were great though, and on point with everything we expect from a Marriott property

William Aragon

I travel for work and I can say most of the fairfileds i have stayed are up to expectationsThis one is supposed to be one of thoseUnfortunate its not

The place needs to be clean better rooms and halways smells badOn top of the the 3 ladies at the front desk gave me and my crew a bad treatmentThey asked us if we were staying at the hotel and to show which room we stayed at because we wanted to get some breakfastTheir approach was not pleasant at allThey need to have better work ethics

Marriott should be ashamed to have this particular unit in their portfolio of hotels While the staff was very friendly and accommodating That didn’t make up for the quality and lack of cleanliness for this particular location

The entire hotel needs to be thoroughly cleaned, repainted, refurnished, and fumigated to get rid of the smoke smell which is throughout the hallways and into the rooms Upon arrival we were given a room on the first floor at the end The room was not clean There were crumbs on the floor and on the kitchenette counter There were tables just outside right next to the room window that I assume was for guests to smoke at because that’s what we saw outside our window was a family sitting there with a group of kids playing in the parking lot and a Bluetooth speaker blasting music This is not the kind of experience we were looking for The two bedroom suite was also missing a TV in one of the rooms and had a broken lamp Upon request we were then moved to a second floor room That one was a little better but it was still dirty with a smoke smell The pull out sofa in that room was so disgusting We decided not to use it and instead just put sheets over top of the couch and had our son sleep over that which was not comfortable In the kitchenette at first we couldn’t find any silverware, then found it sitting in the dishwasher with dirty dishes I’m not sure what the maid staff is doing at this hotel but I don’t think it’s cleaning because in one of the bedsit looked like the sheets hadn’t even been changed We were supposed to stay two nights and only stayed the one because there was no other availability in the entire town with it being a graduation weekend In the morning I went down to the front desk and asked to check out early and the manager was nice enough to not charge us for the second night There were no questions asked and no arguing I think she was already dealing with the same thing with other guests I have to say I was very shocked by the quality of this hotel being part of the Marriott brand I would recommend not to stay here

Kellee Charron

Stayed here for over 4 months with my children and all staff were amazing Until there was a punch thrown between 2 adult guests(not guests of ours, but at the hotel) that my children witnessed, and the manager said we had to leave due to concerning behaviors I would think if we had any concerning behaviors they would have confronted us at least once in the over 4 months we were there

The manager never even spoke to us, just slipped notes under the door When I tried to contact corporate I was ignored, until one person called me back and said that any complaints would have to go through the manager We were staying there because we could not find an apartment in the area and that was our only option I have never felt so disrespected and ignored by any business in my entire life I do have to stay that all of the staff, other than this manager, were absolutely amazing, professional, and kind to all of us, and helped make a bad situation a bit better That was until they got in trouble for being too friendly with the guests Then it all changed I felt horrible for all of them I would have recommended this hotel chain to anyone until the last week or 2 we were there It seemed there was a shift in management of some kind at that point Now I will never stay in one of their hotels again!

We were very satisfied with the TownePlace Suites in Manchester Just what we wanted: large living space, separate from the bedroom, and a good kitchen The rooms were spotless and everything worked

Excellent shower We loved 24 h coffee, snacks, and fruit in the lobby There were actually windows with screens so we could get fresh air! Our room was in the back and overlooked trees with lots of bird songs The breakfast was adequate but there were options The staff was pleasant and helpful We will definitely come to this location our next visit to Manchester and on the basis of our experience choose TownePlace Suite in the future

Wonderful Experience! Zorina was so friendly and kind when we checked in It was busy at the front desk as there were several youth sports tournaments taking place in the area this weekend We arrived at the hotel several hours before check in time fully expecting to wait until 3:00 pm to check in

Zorina was so nice she told me our room wasn’t quite ready but to check back with her in about an hour An hour later Zorina had our room ready The check in experience was awesomeDrew was super friendly when I came down to the desk at 10:00 pm asking for some salt She was able to give me salt with 30 seconds I chatted with her again a little later when I had to grab something from my car She was so personable and and very welcomingWe stayed a king size suite with a fireplace The room was super clean and the set up was perfect for an Xbox challenge with our nephews It was a great experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone We plan to stay again next year Thank you for a terrific night

Do not use this hotel for a room block We used them for our upcoming wedding block and it has been nothing but issues for our guests So much so that our guests have booked elsewhere

Our guests have been told it’s a 2 night minimum, however this was never communicated with us when setting up the block, and it is not stated in the contract The hotel management has been fine to talk with but whoever their sales department is in charge of setting these contracts up is horrible Take your room block elsewhere!
