This is a wonderful, quaint, charming, clean, hospitable, safe place to stay for 5 nights at a time The price is very reasonable if you book on their website Private room, $80, and female dorm $49

Super comfortable mattresses in both stays Nice kitchen with ample breakfast supplies Owners and staff are professional and friendly and helpful Wish I was rich enough to donate some funds to them to do some fixes—bathroom ceiling needs help and they need a new bathtub that is clean, but badly stained The water pressure is fantastic The quiet rules were followed I met some very nice travelers I’m sorry I have to go back to other hotels and airbnbs instead of staying here longer while I investigate finding housing here in Wilmington Book it and stay here No bugs! Convenient to downtown stores, and bus line just on the corner, and bus station called Padgett I could’ve walked, but didn’t realize how close it was Seriously, so charming I felt like I was in Europe

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised The staff is very friendly The backyard area has a very cool atmosphere with herbs growing, a swing, and a well designed, nicely lit seating area with many guitars and doors decorating it

My stay was comfortable The house is on the older side, but I didn’t have any issues with it Make sure if you book a room in one of the dormitory style rooms that you’re ok with being in a room with other peopleThere’s a lot of fun history in this house, including a book exchange, and a map of the world on the wall that shows where Stella Maris travelers are from I am likely to come back to Stella Maris The prices are great for the quality of the housing experience that you get

Tucker zischka

This is a great place Lots of interesting people and the staff are very nice The price and location make this a very good option for travelers passing through who want to be close to downtown! There are two things that could be better about this place

It says breakfast is included, but “breakfast” is just a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter Additionally, the place could be cleaner It was cluttered, a little dirty, and a tad janky However, it adds to the charm Overall I would stay here again

I really enjoy this place It is right on the beach and staying here really helps beat the traffic and trying to find close parking spots to the beach, that alone is worth the money The rooms are spacious and the kitchenette has saved us many times from having to leave to eat a hot meal

You really appreciate the convenience when you have cranky hungry kids after a long day at the beach We have been coming here for nearly 8 years The staff do not linger but are there if you need them which is a great plus Parking is tight but they have a spacious overflow lot if you can’t park(like me)

Kerri

45 stars This was a great little motel right on the beach

All of the rooms have balconies with ocean views The kitchenette was really helpful since my husband and I prefer to not to eat out with the babyI deducted half a star because the coffee maker in the room was not a regular drip coffee maker It was a single serve drip that required specific coffee bags (provided) that I thought were awful To be fair, the coffee maker at the front desk was great, but the office is locked until 7am (I am an early riser)The Silver Gull was easy to find/drive to, and it had on-site parkingThe price was incredible for what you get I’d highly recommend it!

Christopher Martian

This place has been updated really well in the past few years Super clean you can see the ocean from the balconies that each room has

walk out of the hotel right to the beach Only downside, it’s pretty expensive for a motel but, you can’t beat the location They almost always have rooms available Parking is covered and free to guests

Impeccably clean rooms, friendly and warm counter staff and dining staff Ms Atari at the front counter was really helpful and warm

Beds and linens were clean and comfortable Breakfast was hot however it was prepackaged but it was warming in the front But the dining room was open and there was plenty to eat and the coffee was excellent Highly recommend staying here Another great Marriott case study in hospitality – clean, friendly, and great food

Christina

Highly recommend this place! Everyone who works here is SOOO nice and truly so helpful Rooms are beautiful and clean and hotel facility itself is very nice Plenty of parking and included breakfast! This isn’t your typical continental though it’s seriously good food

Coffee is awesome and the have non dairy milk available like hello, and everything is quite sanitary and individually packaged such as the waffles, oatmeal, even the egg cups and breakfast sandwiches all individually sealed Highly recommend this place!!

Lavar “El” Elliott

Rooms were nice, but I will say I’ve paid less for Bonvoy rooms that were just as nice or even better Maybe the price was all in the location since it was only a 5 minute drive to the beach I can’t say anything negative about the rooms, the suite I had was nice

If I had to come up with one gripe about this place it would be two small things First, their room key system is outdated so don’t expect any mobile keys if you’re a techie like me Second, if you go outside on the patio area outside of the pool, you’re locked out and have to walk around That’s been like that for a little while now

Holly the night manager was the biggest part in making our stay totally awesome She was always helpful and smiling She went out of her way to help with everything I would ask for

Not only did she help with our stay in every single way but she also helped with some personal things that will be the change in our lives for the better from now on and it was just some small simple things she did for us We came here from another hotel and I am so happy we did because having Holly here was the best part of our last few weeks I totally recommend staying here come meet Holly and check out this awesome clean quiet hotel This place has everything you need plus the added bonus of the lovely lady who works each night

My home away from home for 10 days From the time we arrived we knew it was going to be a great stay The room was very spacious with a fully functional kitchenette, great desk area and large bathroom

The staff was always friendly and helpful The hallways and common areas very clean without dirt, clutter or trash I saw many guests with dogs which is always fun The laundry room only had two washer and dryers and could get crowded at times but nothing that a little patience wouldn’t take care of The breakfast was not the same every day which is greatly appreciated I didn’t get to use the pool or hot tub because there was no time for that but did see other guests enjoying it We didnt have room service by choice Asked for towels and other needs from the staff as needed Thank you thank you for a great place to stay

Tracy McCool

I normally stay in the riverfront or on the beach when visiting my UNCW student, however this time I chose to be closer to her off campus house For the price, I was expecting moderate accommodations compared to what I’m used to but in this case, I couldn’t be more wrong Room was very spacious and clean

Sharon who served breakfast was so friendly and led us to little hidden gems throughout Wilmington The desk staff was very efficient and friendly even sending us off with a little gift bag when we checked out Couldn’t have asked for a better experience I’ll most certainly add this to my choices of stayHighly recommend!!

I wanted to love this hotel Fellow guests were great, atmosphere was great Breakfast was awesome, three waffle makers

Three issues – TV didn’t work, the front desk came and fixed it But once I turned the TV off, I couldn’t get it working again in the morning The second issue was the cleanness of the bathroom I have a two hair rule, this bathroom and shower exceeded that by four hairs The third was the glaze on the ottoman in front of the coach Not even going to speculate on that one

Giulia Restrepo

I had a really good experience with this hotel Home2 is always one of my favorite Hilton brands for longer stays since they have a full(ish) kitchen in the rooms The hotel was clean and quiet

The service was great All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful I also love that they are pet friendly, as I was traveling with my cats during a relocation

Meagan G

I’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times now, it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, especially for the price! Nice low average cost for what they offer and etc Walking into the room, it smells so fresh and clean and very cute and updated ( you know how some hotels are stuck in the past with their ugly designs lol, not this place! ) , you forget you’re at a hotel! The hotel it’s self is very pretty with a nice seating area The rooms are very spacious and have full body shampoo etc in the glass showers

Has a great variety of hot and cold breakfast items Love the waffle bar! I also like that they over turkey sausage items( I don’t eat pork ) The front desk people have always been so friendly and nice, and I’ve never had an issue! 10/10 would recommend

We stayed Thursday-Tuesday and had amazing service the entire stay The staff is friendly and our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable The bathroom was a good size as was the mini kitchen

Full refrigerator and the freezer had an ice maker which was nice The couch and chair in our room seemed older and are maybe due for a good cleaning, otherwise everything was great and our king bed was extremely comfortable Mainstay is a sister hotel with the Sleep Inn next door so they share that pool which was nice to have for our trip Breakfast options consisted of waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, packs of oatmeal or grits A mini fridge with some yogurt and microwaveable sausage biscuits, juice and coffee were also available We would have loved some other hot breakfast options like eggs or bacon/sausage but I understand that’s not an option at every hotel We used their beautiful courtyard for dinner one night as well Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would stay again if we’re back in the area

Brian Fernandez

The room was clean the front desk was friendly but not very helpful The AC was not working or it was locked out from being able to adjust and I had to wait till the next day to get a portable AC which I never got the next day This place is nice but they are not concerned with any needs you need once your in there

I needed a can opener, the one in room was broken, they just said sorry we don’t have any Also they don’t control the guest, I had kids and their parents running up and down the stairs slamming door at midnight and the desk clerk said she’d walk the floor, after my call they kept up the running and door slamming for almost an hour Good thing I had a fan to drown out the noise and stay cool

Jamal Robinson

After staying there for months with the family I have nothing negative to say They people there became family and treat you the same way T and her staff are 5 stars and holds the place together

The front Desk with MaryA (sorry if the name is off) are wonderful and fun to chat with when the wife is away 😂 I would stay there again just to be around the PURE engery I love all of the staff and the other residents there and wish nothing but Blessing for all !!! 🤗🌹🤍

I stayed at this hotel the weekend of May 20, 2022 The hotel manager called several days prior to upgrade my room to a “suite” given my platinum status At that time I ensured she understood I had two children and she confirmed there was a pull out sofa

When we arrived, the pull out sofa had trash under it and there were no sheets I tried to call the front desk for sheets but neither of the two phones in the room worked I went to the front desk and was told the hotel had no extra blankets or pillows to accommodate the pull out sofa (they were also out of room keys and could only provide one to my wife and me) This hotel was poor at providing the minimum essential requirements you expect of paid lodging The staff did not even seem to care about guest safety as they allowed kids in bare feet and swim suits to run on the treadmills; I suppose it was the only viable alternative given the pool was also out of service I would never stay here again and I am disappointed in the level of effort IHG places in maintaining this property

jamila lamb

This hotel is dirty and disgusting The worker with the dreads is very disrespectful and doesn’t respect his customers The hotel charged our card prior to checking in a day early

The cleaning staff left trash in the room The place is trash I don’t know how is there is 4 stars Very unprofessional customer service I will not come back here with my family I will be calling corporate on this place

The best beach in NC, IMHO and given the locations we’ve visited thus far One of a few beaches where waves are low and toddlers are safe to wade Tons of shells and tide pools make for great fun with little kids in tow

The hotel has amazing views, solid room setup and the pools and hot tubs we absolutely loved The bar had decent eating and drinking options too Highly recommend, especially with kids!

Jamie

Great spot at the end of the strip so the beach isn’t super crowded however you are more than a walk to the local night life if that’s what you like The hotel attracts mostly families with young kids and us two pools This is an affordable family location in a safe pretty spot

The draw backs are the age of the hotel It doesn’t seem to be update or kept up Our mattress was springy you can see nail holes and scuff marks on every piece of trim Rust dirt hallways with paint chips everywhere Overall I can overlook all that for the location but the staffing is an issue It seems like I’m my four days here they have the same tired overworked employees running the desks They are super friendly but you feel bad for them The bar/restaurant isn’t worth your time(if you can even catch them in the brief few hours they are open) Expect overpriced Denny’s food and a wait staff/bar tenders with no personality If you want the beach at low cost for this are then she’ll island is your place I think they could turn this place around with a fresh menu, some more employees, a little paint and elbow grease and actually open up the amenities they have downstairs I gave three stars because it is a good location and there are some employees who are trying their hardest to keep the guests happy I took two stars off for the upkeep of the hotel and the noise level in the rooms as well as the poor experiences with the restaurant

Anna Autrey

We’ve come here for decades Great location Terrible rooms

the past two years, the linens and finishes in the rooms are just not acceptable We arrived last night and found stained bed linens and hair in the sheets Walked down to the front desk and had to wait on clean linens Apparently they were “out” and some needed to be laundered? When they arrived, we received queen sized sheets we were on the top floor in a king suite The paint is pretty nasty on all trim, doors, high-touch areas It’s just hard to pay nearly $400 per night for a place that feels forgotten and dirty To the owner of unit 914: yuck I feel like such a special place we’ve treasured for years is just a nasty hotel with great views and oceanfront location Yuck

I can’t speak on the average night stay, however we recently had our wedding there and if I could scream it to any bride considering having their event there I would beg her to turn around and run From the beginning after the contract was signed it was nearly impossible to get responses from our event Coordinator, and if we had multiple questions after a week we may get one response and still have to follow up with the other questions Trying to schedule our detail appointment took almost a month of back and forth and having to reschedule because of all the lack of communication

We did an all inclusive package but I immediately regretted not being able to outsource services as I got about the same response from the florist included Although my flowers turned out beautiful they were nothing like I had asked for or shown The signage was also wrong the day of, and my mother in law tried to have it corrected but was told nothing could be changed without the sales coordinator who wasn’t in yet, so the signs stayed incorrect which led to guests entering late on the ceremony The day of the wedding my event coordinator didn’t contact me all day to where an hour before the wedding I had to reach out to her to ask her what the plan was and in the end I missed my entrance due to being left in a separate room and ended up having to run to my entrance late, fluster disheveled Not a single decent picture was taken of me walking down the isle She left maybe 30 minutes into the reception, where we had to constantly ask the kitchen staff for assistance with anything I will say the food was amazing and the kitchen staff was so friendly and accommodating to help us the rest of the evening so they’re really the only reason I didn’t give a one star The baker that was used was also wonderful, the cake was exactly what we talked about and the communication was quick and professional All in all the venue is beautiful and the food is amazing, but do not hold an event there!

Sylvia Balli

I enjoyed the locate and the view from the hotel There were some surprising details like no coffee machine in my room, and the conditioner container was empty, no microwave With the luxury price of the room I wished that there was a little more attention to detail

It felt as though it was a old hotel aiming for a face-lift Outside of that the staff was so kind, beautiful restaurant and in walking distance to downtown

Delicia Pinero

My experience here was excellent Mrs Erica at the front desk showed exceptional customer service and professionalism! We told her we were visiting from Texas and she made sure that everything was lined up for us

She went above and beyond and I will never forget her kindness after a long, hard trip The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice I will definitely be back

Page and Larry are the best hosts! What a quaint bed and breakfast with delicious meals!! They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for a weekend getaway When we decided to go to the beach one day they even lent us their cooler Rooms are spacious and comfortable

We stayed in Leilani and enjoyed the sofa and chair for relaxing, the soft comfortable bed, well stocked bathroom We’ll be back!! Thank you!!

Virginia Runko

We only stayed here for one night, but we wish we had more time to not just enjoy Wilmington but this lovely B&B! The owners, Larry & Page, were very professional, considerate, and warm The rooms were lovely with tall ceilings, and the beds were very comfortable We enjoyed the delicious breakfast

They have a nice porch to relax on – we liked just sipping on coffee and chatting out there They have a huge DVD collection that included kid movies, musicals, thrillers, more edgy movies, and lots more If I return to this area, we will definitely stay here again!

ASD S

Page and Larry were very warm and inviting We loved the flexibility for our check in (due to traffic) The breakfasts meals were very yummy and homemade

We tried Page’s fig preserves and fell in love Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean The bed and breakfast was nicely located to downtown and we walked everywhere! We loved touring all the old architecture and exploring the shops We recommend the Pilot House for river watching We hope to venture back for our next weekend getaway! Many thanks to Page and Larry!

Terrible experience I was not allowed to use my Wyndham credit card at this location because I had not yet received it in the mail and the front desk would not allow me to check in without the card present I booked a very nice King suite and drove to town to find out I could not stay there

After spending nearly an hour on the phone with 10 different departments, including Barclay, I was told it should not be an issue but was still refused – assuming because they are afraid of a charge back? I felt like the front desk sized me up and made a call about me based on appearance I was so ready to drop $400 on a very nice room for myself I could have used my debit card but refused out of principle that they were turning me away from using their own brand’s card I chose to cancel my reservation and stay in a dodgy part of town at a much cheaper Wyndham I feel like the gentleman at the front desk understood my frustration but his GM would not budge I will be incredibly upset if they charge me for the first night since I cancelled after the check in time considering there was nothing in the reservation information stating I could not use my Wyndham card if it was not present Further – when my card DOES come in the mail, I will absolutely refuse to stay at this location I planned to stay here in September with my family for a week but I know these hotels are privately owned and I am so upset at being turned away after getting all the way here; I can’t in good conscience give them my money

Karrin Reed

Hotel was conveniently located about 10 min from downtown and 10 min from the beach Room was reasonably priced and clean It even was big enough for a couch which was nice

Wish there were 2 nightstands by the king bed Breakfast wasn’t much to write home about The pool was also closed and we didn’t know this, so that was a little annoying, but overall we had a good stay!

Jennifer Salisbury

Overall cleanliness is 5/5 The cleaning staff and some of the front desk staff are friendly We weren’t told they were not doing daily cleaning unless your doing a three day minimum stay

Okay, that’s fine The breakfast was bare minimum The fruit was over picked and old They only had sausage biscuits and egg biscuits and some cereal My husband and I were staying with two small children I asked to have our trash cans emptied (there are only two very small trash cans in the room) The front desk attendant proceeded to tell me we had to change out our own trash-I looked at her like she was crazy Only after I disagreed did she say she would let the staff know Smh Again-overall cleanliness was great But the breakfast, room cleaning, and customer service left a lot to be desired

I travel frequently for work and use Marriott hotels exclusively I took a chance staying here as the usual Marriott brand hotel I book in town had incredibly high rates due to the season and I was attempting to be mindful of my corporate budget This hotel is in need of some serious TLC

Checking in was fast and easy however the room was far from clean Upon entering there was hair in the bathroom, no soap, and even a contact lense on the nightstand table The couch was also visibly dirty Thankfully I always bring my own sheets and pillow when I travel I felt incredibly icky staying there (thankfully it was just one night!) and will not be returning Do better, Marriott

David C

Couldn’t deliver what we paid for We paid for a room with a king bed and pull out couch When went to the room, the pull out couch sheets were previously used

The front desk notified us they had nobody to make the bed and had no pillows or blanketsI contacted the property for a refund but was only offered points The way I see it is they were in breach of their offer to rent me a room with two useable beds and therefore should get a refund Today I was told a manager would call When no call came I called them The woman on the phone was rude and ended up hanging up on me DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL

We enjoyed a wonderful stay last week Our room was very nice with a great ocean view As always, the grounds were exceptionally maintained and attractive

We were especially impressed with the concierge She approached us in the lobby to share great info regarding hotel activities and local eateries We followed one of her suggestions and are so happy we did All employees were friendly and professional The location is great too

Wow what a great place for our family of 6 with our teenage boys Surf to sound in walking distance from the Beach to the Sound in a few minutes, this was one of our best beach vacations in the US We can recommend this beach experience as outstanding

The resort services are endless and the personal super friendly and helpful The rooms are beautiful decorated and the whole hotel is a unique experience for people who love family owned boutique hotels with special charm and character We have had happiness all around during this vacation! Thank you for this great experience Blockage Runner crew!

Let me start by saying I wish I could give this hotel 10 stars for service – they went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional! We drive a semi-truck, which they were extremely helpful in assisting us with parking They let us check-in 6 hours early and even though our room wasn’t ready, allowed us access to everything at the “resort” while we waited The bell staff were by far the best I’ve ever experienced

They were very friendly, offered helpful suggestions, and went out of their way to make our stay perfect The shuttle driver even took us to a shopping center outside their normal area because he “really wasn’t that busy” 😊 The restaurant, bar and coffee shop all had delicious food/drinks with friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating servers The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean on one side and the city on the other There is a gorgeous pool area, spacious deck, and direct beach access They offer chairs and umbrellas for rent to use on the beach, and lounge chairs and hammocks for free use on the property The room was clean, comfortable, and modern with a private balcony They also have laundry services, covered parking, outdoor dining, and an event counter This is probably the best stay I have EVER experienced!! Well worth every penny!!

Attended the North Carolina manufactured homes association annual convention located on site As many post have noted the construction going on But looking forward the resort Is really going to be a beautiful place Just noticing some of the work going on they seem to have some very talented contractor and designers

I would suggest call ahead and question how the construction might affect your stay My stay was all business had a good nights rest the room was clean and all new And the staff was top notch

SANDRA ROSE

We were super excited to visit this resort due to the amenities listed on the website and paid substantially more than usual for lodging for the upgraded experience However, none of the amenities we were expecting were available due to contruction I know renovations are sometimes needed but it would have been better received if someone had notified us prior to our stay of what to expect as I assure you the price was not adjusted to compensate for the experience

Neither restaurant or the bar on the premises was open The indoor pool and one of two hot tubs were closed the entire stay The outdoor pool was closed part of the stay We were awoken each morning to the sound of a saw cutting floor tiles outside our balcony We were unsure of why “pool closed” signs were around the outdoor pool the entire stay even when the staff would say it was open Then we noted the power tools plugged into extension cords surrounding the pool area where kids are playing and swimming I guess the signs are to protect the facility from litigation should someone get hurt or electrocuted The bed was comfortable and the room clean but that’s where the pros end If the the management is truly sorry as indicated in these other reviewer responses, why not make sure your customers are made aware of the ongoing construction instead of just taking their money

We had the best front desk service at this hotel! The Friday night we checked in they told us of great places to eat and they took care of all our needs By the way the halls always smelled so good!Cleaning staff please clean entire room, someone left cups in the back of the bed You would know that had you cleaned the room thoroughly

Andrea Jasmin

We had a great stay here And will definitely return All the staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous, including the breakfast staff and the cleaning staff

The details …Our room was immaculate The cleaning staff clearly takes pride in their work And the property surely invest in staying current Before I walk into a hotel room, I always hold my breath and hope it’s is clean enough for my standards and it was! My 12-year-old daughter even commented that it had a fresh and clean scent—nothing overpowering thoughWe asked for late checkout at the last minute and received it with no hesitationThe hot breakfast got the job done but was nothing that great My family mostly stuck to the pancakes from the machine, the dried cereal, and the sausage They were out of bananas—we came about an hour before closing The staff in the kitchen worked very hard to keep everything runningWe would definitely stay here again My only suggestion is the thermostat setting only went down to 74 degrees It was 100 degrees outside and so it never quite chilled to a temperature we all found perfect for sleeping We all woke up every night because it was too hot But during the day it felt ice cold! Not sure what was going on there

Upon checking in, I was impressed Nigel is the most positive employee that I’ve seen in a long time It has become very difficult to find such hospitable people these days

His smile, his welcoming spirit, his awareness of urgency, his grace, his overall mannerisms Is what lead me to even write a reviewI normally stay at the Hilton Hotels But I’m on a business trip However, Nigel’s hospitals, may have changed my preferenceHe is beyond awesome and if I lived around here, I’d poach him to work with me His customer service has blown me away! Personally, I’d make him a manager, and/or give him a raise!Like I mentioned numerous times, hospitality like that is rare these days, I pray the company sees the value in him as I doThe rooms were clean, and had a neat little lounge chair Also, the dove products in the shower over the usual genetic products was a major plus

Excellent! Location was great, great night sleep, staff was amazing (Josh) Breakfast was amazing After informing them that we had a great stay, he still asked was there anything they could have done to make it better

As a business owner- this is key Being proactive It takes two seconds, but increases revenue I stayed here on a whim and I’m so glad that I did I’ll be back to visit for sure and I’ll be sharing this location with family and friends as well!

This past Memorial Day I spent the weekend with my family at the Best Western Westgate Property in Leland, NC I have relatives that live in Leland and it has become a routine to stay at the Westgate property every Memorial Day weekend The convenience of the pool, breakfast and proximity to the Walmart makes the property an easy choice, but now we will look for other places to stay for our annual trip

In February I looked up rates for the weekend and found/booked a State Government employee’s rate I work for the District of Colombia government, so I knew I qualified for the rate A week before the trip I called to confirm the reservation and the rep said I was all set However, hours before our arrival on the day of check in, I received a call from the Westgate asking if I was on government detail I was told that unless I could produce details about a work trip, I would have to pay a normal rate I tried to explain that I was a State Government employee and I did not know had to be on work detail I then asked if I could receive a retroactive rate for the weekend and the rep said the manager would call me back Finally, I spoke with the Assistant GM Jennifer Bias, who told me that I could not receive retroactive rate I asked her if I they could grant a day off the total and she suggested (in an extremely snarky tone) that I only stay 2 days instead of 3 I explained to her that I should have been informed early in the week about the rate requirements, when I called to confirm We had driven 6 hours from DC and were essentially helpless with a 4 year child, with every other hotel booked At this point, My wife and I were highly bothered with the customer service and tone of Ms Bias But before we got off the phone, I let Ms Bias know that we wanted to keep the reservation but we were calling Customer RelationsWhen we called Customer Relations, we found out that Management at the Westgate had cancelled 2 days of our trip Meaning we would have to find another place to stay, because Customer Relations also informed us that the Westgate Property had been completely booked for the weekend So you can imagine how stressful this experience was with a toddler, driving over 6 hours from DC When Customer Relations attempted to reach out to inquire about why Westgate Management cancelled 2 days, Jennifer Bias was in an interview and could not be reached When we finally arrived at the Westgate property, the front desk gentleman told me that Customer Relations had cancelled the two days and they would have to reinstate the days At this point we did not care about the expensive rate they were quoting us and just needed a place to stay Customer Relations finally got in contact with Jennifer Bias and she claimed that she had no idea how our rooms were cancelled Customer Relations was extremely apologetic and even sent us a 50 dollar check for all of the incontinenceAs a loyalty member, I felt we should have received more tact and been handled with a more care I know your company is a big business and losing one customer does not make or break your organization, but my family and I will no longer spend our money at your hotels

Chris Smith

Great staff, clean facilities and rooms! What more could we ask for? The breakfast was great and just enough to hit the spot as it’s a full hot breakfast The ONLY thing I could complain about would be the type of toilet seat in our room It looked like a potty training seat for a toddler on a regular toilet… not sure what they were thinking when making this choice as it’s not too suitable for guys to sit on as there’s no space… however again, that’s the only negative thing and certainly not worth knocking a star, just worth mentioning so hopefully they can change it in the future

We will definitely choose this hotel to stay in the future as it’s only a 12 minute drive to downtown Wilmington so you don’t have to pay the upcharge to stay downtown or in Wilmington Kudos to this location!

This is a very nice hotel I took my kids here for a little family trip The breakfast was good and the staff was very nice

However, there was one man staying there on business while we were there and he was always making rude comments to people including the staff He even started saying inappropriate things to me and at one point said something inappropriate while my daughter was standing right beside me It took everything in me not to curse him out Anyway, when I told the front desk about him they new exactly who I was talking about and seemed apologetic, but didn’t offer anything to say “Hey, we are sorry you had to experience that” So I am a little disappointed in the way that was handled I spent almost $700 for those 4 days and had to deal with that man a few different occasions Other than that, my kids and I loved the hotel and loved the staff But that situation should have been handled a lot better

Sheila Randolph

The hotel and the location was great Near everything we wanted to go The receptionist upon our first arrival was not welcoming at all

As soon as I walked in and told her I was checking in she made an unpleasant face and said no rooms are ready come back at 3, mind you it was 2:40 She never bothered to even check for a room It left me with an unwelcoming feeling She did not leave a good first impression of the hotel When we returned we were so thankful that someone else was at the front desk

Leianna Cox

I don’t know how they could have any less than 5 star reviews The rooms are very nice and comfortable Very clean

The pool is heated and absolutely lovely The outside sitting area is perfect for reading a book while your kids swim They serve a 5 star breakfast 😋 the food was wonderful All the staff was very friendly We will be staying here again Also the location is perfect not far from the beach

Our experience here was terrible, unpleasant and exhaustingTo start off, we got there early to check if we can do an early check in but rather than just saying “no” politely the front desk person who happened to be the manager had an attitude and was rude We ended up coming back later but one of our rooms had a used underwear by the night stand probably from the previous customers

Not only that but the clock and the phone was not working Moreover, the comforters had multiple brown stains and there were bugs all over the wall The night time front desk lady was nice enough to give us 2 different rooms however, in the second room we were given, had a cockroach the size of a mouse and a huge spider on the wall All of this was happening past 12 am and we had no choice but to stay in the hotel We ended up staying in another room In the morning we decided to talk to the manager However rather than hearing us out she gave us an attitude and was being very arrogant She was unapologetic, stubborn and did not care about the well-being of her customers She kept ignoring us and saying it was our problem and that they won’t do anything about it Without even hearing us fully she repeatedly said “have a good day” (sarcastically) Terrible cleaning and terrible customer service Do not waste your time and money here This place doesn’t even deserve a single star

Not worth the price1 I tried to get my room cleaned for 5 daysFirst time they said we only service rooms if your staying one night

Next day they said put sign out before 9:00am room need service and they will clean the roomNext day the lady took my room number and said they will clean itNext day the lady at the front desk said we only service rooms if you stay more then one night I never got my room cleaned I’m still not sure of the policy for cleaning rooms i gave up2 They left the cleaning carts in front of my door I’m not sure if they excepted me to clean the room3 There were holes on ever floor4 I had ants in my room all over5 Checkout is at 11 why would they wake me up at 8 and now try to clean the room6 The pool was dirty and chairs

Rebecca Taylor

I’m here currently for a baseball tournament Our first room had soaking wet carpet and an odor The people working at the reception desk were nice they said it was probably from the ac was leaking and the odor was from the wet carpet

So we switched rooms Second room was a little better No wet carpet The toilet seat has hair on it, there is hair on the floor in the bathroom There was water in the ice bucket left over I’m guessing from the last people here This room obviously didn’t get a good cleaning And the mini fridge does not work

All the staff is reception and restaurant were lovely Both of the areas looked new and renovated However, room was old, with old furniture, bed was comfortable

If I was reviewing so far, I’d give three stars Lost a star because the tread mill in the gym was not working, pool was freezing and the hot tub was not in service Also, arriving back in our room at 5:00 pm, the room had still not been refreshed by housekeeping, even though they saw us leaving earlier in the day

J. Lamar H.

From the silent traveler this is the Holiday inn nice room came into a funky smell but I was only staying just the night Luckily I brought some smell goods to make it smell a little bit more homey

The bed was nice and comfy very surprising and the pillows were too shower a little hard to control the temperature but when it got hot it got hot Good pressure I like a little bit stronger but not sure if everyone was showering the same time I was The thing that really bothers me most about these hotels when you stay at them they will never honor your loyalty rewards number with them because it’s done through a third party In my opinion that shouldn’t matter because people like me are still staying there and from staying there we’re doing a review we could be the secret shopper to see how well you handle situation, how well the hotel is But anyway small gym but you can still get a good workout nice pool and they do have a bar area which is also nice at the lounge in The location is decent you’re around a lot of different shopping areas but trying to cross the road it’s like playing a game of frogger All in all I like the hotel but it could definitely improve a lot in different areas First starting with the loyalty rewards program

Randy

We come to Wilmington quite often, but usually stay another hotel In the future we will be staying here This is a very modern and clean motel

The beds are very comfortable The indoor pool is nice I’m not crazy about the bag breakfast (an orange, granola bar and yogurt) but I understand the reasoning with Covid I highly recommend this place

This is quite possibly the nicest Hampton Inn I’ve stayed in We were told they did some renovations during the pandemic closure, and it shows They added in a bar with reasonable prices, and the furniture and look of the lobby was updated and clean

They also had a “treats” section where you could purchase extra snacks if you needed them They even offered us bottled water when we came in The free breakfast had a lot of options, but it was a bummer that they had turkey sausage rather than regular pork Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and everything was clean All the staff we encountered were kind and personable as well, and we are so glad we chose to stay here Very positive experience and priced well

Marti

Great hotel Easy parking Room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated

Fridge, microwave, coffee maker all worked as did the hair dryer Had a variety of breakfast foods and drinks Only thing that wasn’t great was people in the hallway created quite a lot of late night noise that was very audible in the room Other than that, overall a great experience

Alana S. Freeman

From the wonderful receptionist Von to the expert Housekeeper Annie this was the best Hilton stay I have had in years! Rooms and public areas were spotless and the renovations are beautiful I stayed In a corner suite during a time of roof construction and had no problems Basic free continental breakfast but the kitchen staff made me feel like I was at home

I will definitely stay again Please use these ladies to train others because hospitality matters especially when people have options
