We choose to stay with Hampton Inn for the cleanliness many of their locations have, but were terribly disappointed with Hillsboro The place has an awful stench the moment we walked into the side door and up the stairs It was chemical and overwhelming

Our first room was revolting It was tiny and smeared with food (or possibly something else) all over the bathroom door Visible food chunks on the table All the corners of the floors rimmed with filthy, dingy little bathtub You could tell everything needed a deep cleanThe clerk gave us another room that was larger and cleaner, but not by much There was thick mold behind the sink faucet and hairs from a previous guest’s shave The end tables, bathroom counter, and bath tub/shower appear to be leftovers from another hotel chain, at least 30 years old They are in poor repair and not consistent with other Hampton properties The carpet had long loose threads hanging from the point where it meets the tile, clearly a poor install job The entire hotel is just old, dark, and dingey Add to that the right roar of the freeway all night and you’re probably gonna be happier taking your $200 elsewhereWe decided to opt out of breakfast over concern that their food is likely handled as poorly as the rest of the property Don’t stay at this Hampton It’s more like a Ramada

If you are a tourist DONT stay at this hotel Why you might ask1

We make a reservation in advance and when we arrived we didn’t get what we requested2 YOU MUST CHECK THE WEBSITE CAREFULLY Unlike comparable hotels rooms:A You will pay much moreB this hotel charges extra for parking,C requires a damage deposit in addition to the cost of the room although they have all your credit card detailsDhas no microwave or fridge or laundry services

I travel for work every week and I always stay at Hilton hotels, with that in mind I have stayed in my share of Hampton Inns This one was modern and the room was more than adequate, what really set this one apart was the staff, who were warm and friendly, they made me feel welcome and in particular, when I asked a member of the cleaning staff to leave a trash bag in side my door, they cleaned my whole room and performed full service which is not the norm during these weird covid times It made me feel great that I returned to my room after a long day at work, that my room was warm, clean and smelled nice, unlike the 2 day old roasted garlic pizza I had setting on the counter!I don’t know if it was a big deal for them but it was a huge deal to me thank you!

I arrived for a conference and the woman who checked me in was so quick, nice and professional I was able to check in early which I was not expecting Our lunch during our conference was great and the server had great customer service

The three men that helped me with valet were so friendly and quick I loved my room, it was very clean and comfortable I wish the shower had more pressure but everything else made up for it Check out was quick and easy and the manager was training two new hires with such patience As a manager in the hotel industry I was very happy with my stay and the entire staff The housekeepers I saw in the hallway were so friendly also Would highly recommend

Wow, what an A+++ experience It’s rare that you walk into a hotel and feel SO genuinely welcomed by its representatives I was immediately greeted by Ava who provided an amazing customer experience at check-in — she was personable, precise, and kind

She was so savvy that she immediately tied my reservation to me based on some clothing indicators and took initiative to greet me by name before I even got to the desk! This hotel’s amenities, rooms, and location were all top-notch, but the people that work there were what really separated it from the many other Portland hotels I’ve stayed in The bartender RJ was fantastic as well Ava and team made the stay feel incredibly comfortable Just re-booked 2 nights for this week!

Rajasekhar Gundu

Tiny rooms but well maintained No water in room unless you ask for & nothing in room refrigerator food (they did mention at check-in though) and no dining option at all COVID really changed many businesses operating mechanism it seems so

Mini gym in basement, and a daily wine tasting experience at 5PM which I never managed to get a time slot in my calendar A good place to stay, but lot of scope to improve

Our room was nice and clean This is my second time staying at a Hilton Garden hotel and what I really like about their rooms is that they feel roomy, larger than they are, they are well designed in that they think about how a traveler would use the space, which I really appreciateFor example they have plenty of room and storage for your luggage and all your things, which I have found in many hotel rooms they offer space for one suitcase but nowhere to put a 2nd or more suitcases and your other items you travel with

So you feel crampedAlong with other convenient small things that make traveling easier in their roomsThey had a welcoming and tastefully done lobby with an eating/commons area to just chill outThey also have a great outdoor seating area with a fire-pit So for what I call a good value hotel I highly recommend themThe only thing that wasn’t great was their pillows They were flat and not soft So I was glad that I brought my own pillow

Great place Upscale rooms, plenty of parking Hotel Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous

Laundry facility could be upgraded and expanded to accommodate more than 1 or 2 guests at a time Excellent fitness room It was a long walk from one end of the hotel on the 3rd floor to the laundry room all the way on the other end of the hotel on the 1st floor Bit there are key-card controlled exits at each end for convenient ingress and egress from all sides of the hotel No vending machines, but there are sundry overpriced goodies available at a counter by the front desk There is a convenience store/gas station just up the block a bit, (closes at 11pm) within walking distance Lots of meeting rooms on the first floor Ice machines on every floor Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any road-weary travelers Please note that they charge an additional $25 per night deposit on your reservation, required at check-in, so that added $150 to our week’s stay Don’t know how long it takes for your deposit to get refunded Beautiful hotel, inside and out We loved our Executive King Suite It was roomy and comfortable! And no problems booking with our service dog

Spend your money elsewhere I chose this specific location/Hilton because it offered room service and I was healing from a medical procedure and was trying not to leave my room as much as possible I found out after I checked in that they are not offering it, though it is still being advertised

I called corporate and opened a case regarding my complaint only to be treated poorly on the phone every time I would call to check in on it as though I had done something wrong Management at this hotel also “denied” any compensation for this complaint and claimed they notified me of this, but I never once heard from the hotel manager about this decision When I called corporate they said they couldn’t do anything and it was up to the manager at that location to decide, so I was transferred to the hotel front desk only to be told “there is not a manager on duty” and that there “might” be one in tomorrow?Honestly staying here felt like the McDonald’s of hotels There were big pieces of food on the box spring on the side of the mattress that I had to throw away myself and it was gross I also had called and asked for more bathroom products and never got any Had to call again the following day and “remind them” and then was told I had to come down to get them The bar menu is also extremely limited Don’t waste your money staying at this overpriced hotel- I may as well have stayed at a motel 6

When we got to our room, there was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals We’re sensitive to stuff like that so asked if they could move us and they found us another room with no hassle, no questions The new room was a little smaller but didn’t face Burnside, so quiet and a nicer view

I felt like they really took care of us and were very gracious about doing so It was refreshing to get such nice service and really made our stay fantastic The staff were all friendly and eager to help Really enjoyed our stay

Kathijune Bruyere

Absolutely fun experience for a creative being like myself! We got the Werewolf room and the quote around the room though dizzying to follow is the greatest thing I have seen The art in the room and halls (and I am sure the other rooms as well) gives me a through the looking glass feel The bed is comfortable and clean and the staff/personell are helpful and friendly

Dave Cramton

This place is all about attitude and convenience Tiny rooms and shared bathrooms aren’t for everyone But the rooms are clean, the bathrooms (single occupancy, not dorm style!) are kept clean as well

Provided robes are comfortable and voluminous Typical of McMenamins, everything is funky and stylish Great place to stay if you’re seeing a show just up the block at the Crystal Ballroom Zeus Cafe in the lobby makes a great brunch

Stayed here for 4 nights in April of 2022 Overall the experience was fine Hot breakfast was good — really nice that they had protein and not just carb stuff

Room was pretty clean Carpet in the hallways was a joke — some interior designer really took these people Sold them carpet with huge threadbare spots in a pattern — I guess they are going for a war zone look? I think that same designer must have sold this property the pictures/wallhangings in the rooms — what a laugh! People at front counter were very friendly and helpful I have stayed here at least a dozen times over the past 25 years Of course property used to be in really nice shape, but they have done a fair job in maintaining it Overall I’d rate it as a reasonable place to stay It is nice to have a separate room from bedroom and I will probably stay here again, depending on prices at comparable properties in the area

Matt Person

Honestly, was disappointed, was hoping it was kept up better This is in no way a reflection of the staff as they were all very friendlyThe place looks like it’s a bit run down and that’s own ownership, not the on hand staff

Room was fine but holy cow, I could hear the person in the next room snoring and I could hear their in bedroom TV The walls must be very thin and I’m guessing they probably heard me snoring at some point as wellThe breakfast looked good but I never had a chance to eat any of itThe water pressure in the shower was not very good, wished it was a lot strongerI stayed here for 3 nights and checked into the Embassy SuitesAgain, nothing against the staff, they get 5 stars, but the place needs better upkeep, especially when it cost $185/night

Mohamed Issa

Overall, I was pretty happy with my stay here My suite was clean and well furnished Also, the staff were very good whenever I needed help with something

The location has its pros and cons though On one hand, it’s somewhat tucked away, so your experience will approximate a stay in a tranquil suburban home – great if that’s what you’re looking for On the other hand, there aren’t many restaurants or shops available to you inside a 10 minute walk, so driving will become a necessity if your stay is a lengthy one

My first hostel hotel experience and it was surprisingly pleasant! The rooftop was beautiful and cold The lobby was comfy and warm The drinks were all amazing

I tried different local wines, had some tea, and grabbed a cup of coffee the morning before my departure It was all short, sweet, and comfortable I’ll be visiting Portland more and hope to get a room there again Definitely 10/10

Niusha Tajvidi

I would go back and visit Portland just to stay at this hotel! The staff here are beyond incredible Upon arrival I had a lot of anxiety as I was a first time solo traveller and everyone there made me feel so safe Everyone there genuinely cares about you and your safety

The hotel offers an escort system if you feel unsafe at a location and you can even text the staff at anytime which was super helpful I stayed at a single room which meant I had to share a bathroom and I had some reservations about it before visiting but it exceeded all my expectations! The room and bathroom was honestly cleaner than at any hotel I have stayed at The cafe/restaurant in the lobby had amazing food (I had a chocolate chip cookie from there every single day because honestly it was the best) There’s also amazing views from the beautiful rooftop patio I VERY HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Michelle Rodriguez

Gosh what a unique hostel/hotel I loved staying here They have a big, coed hostel room with comfortable, ship-berthing-inspired bunks

They have privacy curtains which I loved The hotel also has private rooms but I didn’t stay in oneI loved the common cafe area The hours are long and there are always people taking advantage of the spaceThe only thing I can say negatively about this was the location being swamped by homeless people I have compassion for them but there’s a lot of unaddressed mental health issues and it made me feel unsafe leaving at night The doors to the cafe/hotel required being buzzed in or using your room key so that was coolOverall, I would stay here again This is the nicest hostel I’ve been in

Hands down one of the best experiences I have had! This little boutique hotel has very cozy rooms – with all of the comforts of home The jetted tub was a major reason we chose this hotel and it was beyond worth it to unwind for a night away from the stress at home! The room was spotless, and they even left a personalized card and bottle of wine with our breakfast voucher This place is lovely, and we will definitely be booking again

Linda The Boo

The Orenco is a gem! Located on a quiet and charming street, yet also has easy access to highway 26 A short morning walk to a wonderful bakery and restaurants only a block away My room was cozy, comfortable and spotlessly clean

The owners are kind and attentive The room had all of the amenities that I needed You don’t want to stay in a big hotel, when you can stay at the Orenco! I’d definitely stay there again Thank you Margie and Richard!

Julie Diebolt Price

Reminiscent of historic brownstones in New York City, The Orenco offers short or extended-stay lodgings in an upscale, quiet, and safe neighborhoodOur room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, bathroom included toiletries with bathrobes, and kitchenette was fully equippedMany great dining options are within a short walk and it’s also close to the Tri-Met station

I was exploring Hillsboro, which is not far from home This is a perfect place to stay if you are in the area for business or pleasure

Quick stay for concert night at the Grand Lodge Easy to get to breakfast and nice seating Rooms in good shape and clean

Desk staff is working way to hard in afternoon check in I feel this leads to many errors which would lead to more checkin problems and mad customers Water flow is bad and shower not good over all Sad to because I really like the large bottles in shower and not chasing those little bottles all clumsy and naked Just bad design Mostly no vent in bathroom That’s why it is a two Why do we all have to know Grandma took a dump This review went from 5 to two over this issue No bathroom fan no good review ever That’s a pretty basic messiah and we live not in a 3rd world county…yet So everyone in room really wants a bathroom fan!

Madeline Handzlik

We were awoken by the sound of pounding and a drill from the hallway at 7 am I pay to sleep and this was a poor decision on management’s part It was not an emergency situation

It forced us to drive for hours that day too tired for comfort Will not stay here again Haha, love the response from the owner Guess you don’t read the reviews, eh?

It is very clean and up to date We had a shower with glass doors- no leakages It had a large vanity with sink separate from toilet and shower

It had a 1/2 wall that separated the bed from the small living room and a wrap around desk ( plenty of counter)I would stay there againWe used points for our reservation since Hilton bought Diamond Resorts A plus for us

Anastasia Petryakov

Honestly, the stay was great Staff was nice, rooms were clean, pool was clean BUT we came from out of state and got our catalytic converter stolen overnight Extremely stressful and disappointing

We parked in the main lot towards the back During the police report we learned this isn’t the first time it happened, maybe getting a security guard for over night lot guard would make the stay more safe for your guests

Brian R

Pros: Fair price Wonderful and friendly staff the rooms were clean and beds surprisingly comfortableCons: The bathroom fan was horribly loud and you have no option to turn the fan offWhen the light is on the fan is on This was really annoying and disruptive

Building needs a little updatingId probably stay here again!

Stayed here on Saturday June 4th We came down to Eugene from WA for my best freinds funeral unfortunately It is my birthday weekend so my wife wanted to salvage what she could of it and booked us a room here

When we arrived we were greeted by Morgan with so much warmth and kindness My wife had mentioned it was my birthday and they put out some decorations and a card and upgraded our roomA lot hotel claim to be dog friendly but act put out Not here! We had dog beds and toys sent up and Morgan even came out from behind front desk and greeted our ancient dog personallyEvery other staff member was also extremely kind and helpful I would also like to note that the rose festival was going on and they were extremely busy and still had the best customer service we have received at a hotel in PortlandThank you!

Stayed at the hotel Deluxe for a night with some girlfriends We were able to get early check-in Our room was fantastic

Easy Uber rides to Keller Auditorium where we saw Hamilton After the show, we got back to the hotel and had a drink at the Driftwood, I chose to have the bartender make me a drink of his choiceI’m not a drinker, so when I got my cocktail, it was a surprise how much I enjoyed said cocktail After drinks, we ended up walking a few blocks to the Melting Pot, had a fantastic dinner and was easily able to Uber back to the hotel We woke up the next morning and had breakfast downstairs at Gracie’sgreat staff, delicious food, convenient location, we just took the elevator down We were able to go back to our and relax before our very easy check-outAll in all, such a fabulous stay at a beautiful hotel Great atmosphere The front desk was helpful and inviting Looking forward to booking another girls night when we go to another show at Kellers

Safal Neupane

I was travelingSo, I called in to reserve a room I was told the price and the time I am supposed to check out

I traveled for 30 minutes in the middle of night to get there to find out it was all lie The price went up, the check out went down Is it a simple misunderstanding? Or a way to take advantage? Such a big hotel and The hotel might be good hotel to stay but in terms of hospitality, might not be the best choice

Service was awesome Location perfect The rooms themselves, we booked 2, were good but could have been a little cleaner

Corners of rooms were dusty so maybe a little more attention to detail The biggest issue was the lack of hot water for showering It was warm but never got to being “hot” We only stayed one night so it wasn’t a huge deal, got the job done Overall it was a go9d experience

Jodie Hebbard

This is now one of my favourite hotel chains and I can’t wait to visit more of them It’s such a chill vibe, but while maintaining excellent service The staff were so helpful and friendly and of course they are SUPER dog friendly which was amazing

We’ve traveled a lot with our dogs and have never come across a place like this that is so welcoming to the dogs Extra nice touches are the robes and free water bottles The food and drinks at the restaurant were really good as well And the location can’t be beat Right on the river and near all the shops and sights downtown and walking distance to the Saturday market Can’t wait to come back!

Christini Inbetweeni

Wonderful stay! Everyone at the front desk was so, so nice (including, of course, the famous Kennedy mentioned in so many reviews) and generous We loved the location and walked all over the city, which was much needed after eating all the wonderful food available Rooms were clean, towels were brought up within just a couple minutes after I realized we needed a couple more, and the hotel was surprisingly quiet with noise from other rooms

I think one night we heard noise from the room next to or below us, but they had to have been exceptionally loud!Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again! The hotel is lovely but the people here are what really make this such a great place to stay

I stayed for 9 nights and loved it The beds are amazing- not as good as my bed at home, but definitely better than your standard extended stay hotel bed The breakfast in the morning was delicious

They typically have something different every day that incorporates either fresh fruit or veggies They seemed to have some sort of happy hour in the lobby occasionally? I’m not sure because when I checked in there was no communication about amenities or any guest events Despite that, I would definitely stay here again

The Element Beaverton is a good solid hotel that is run well We stayed there twice in the last couple of weeks and were impressed I am a Marriott Titanium for Life, so I know the Marriott product, and I am a New Yorker, so I have no issue saying how it is

The rooms were fine OK they could have been larger, but they were fine The free breakfast was good Coffee was easy to come by at all hours And the place was spotless in the entry area, the elevators, corridors, and the roomsI want to recognize one employee, Jasmine She works the front desk as well as in the breakfast area Jasmine was exceptionally helpful, consistently smiling, always working to make sure her customers were happy and feeling welcome She clearly is an asset to the Element and represents the brand wellWe are staying there again in a few days and looking forward to our stay

We are locals who came to beat the heat The indoor swimming pool was lovely and meant we could comfortable swim without being outside in the 100+ heatThe room was spacious and well stocked

We could sign into our streaming services on the TV to watch a movieThe AC worked like a charmThe complimentary breakfast is phenomenal Everything from gluten free bagels to a yogurt bar and pancakes and eggs made on demandEveryone was so kind and courteous Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay outside of the bustle of the city but just a short drive away from it

Amazing stay Completely pet friendly, NO hidden pet fees, no weight limits, no breed restrictionsWe felt right at home

No funky smells Pet friendly restaurant patio Pet friendly walking pathsComfortable bed and pillows Good water pressure No road noise No sketchy drifters, which is rare for some areas of Portland these daysOther hotels claimed to be pet friendly, but when I called about pet fees because the booking was nonrefundable, it was $30 per dog at another hotel! Which would’ve made the room over 2x as expensive as I had 3 dogs with me

Lovely hotel by the river Is perfect to explore Portland The room was great

The view is of the marina, but also the bridges spanning the river – so a little noise from there Some good restaurants nearbyThe reason I removed a star for service is because not one member of staff in reception said good morning (or anything) as we walked through – even though we said it to them So our only interaction was check in and check out – efficient but not uber friendlyThe housecleaning crew, however, were lovely

I stayed in 217, which was at the end of a hall It was large, with a peek a boo view of the river & one of the bridgesVery comfortable Queen bed, very clean

The bathroom was enormous with a standard style shower/tub combination There was a hide a bed, and actually enough room to open it and move comfortably, if neededThe restaurant is solid and has a good bar if you prefer to stay on premisesTwo things that knocked it down for me:-Hidden fees-Dour front desk person – I kept dealing with the same person, and they just made me feel unwelcome I asked a friend who was with me when I checked in if I was imagining it and she said, no – there was a weird vibe The desk person said all the right things but there was something perfunctory about them – it was over the course of 3 days, and there was never a lineso I don’t know Left a weird impressionAlso – if you are not from the area – I went a mark down on location only because it can be difficult to navigate in and out of the River area generally It’s beautiful though!!!

The bistro is incredibly overpriced And often out of things They are also doing work on the roof between the hours of 7 and 5, I believe

I understand it is necessary, but definitely something to consider The bathroom door didn’t seem to fit very well and is difficult to close, the toilet moves and clinks when you sit on it as well I am assuming that was isolated situation and not occurring in all rooms Overall though, it’s comfortable and reasonably priced considering other options in the area

This hotel was just “OK” I was staying here alone and honestly it was a bit depressing There was nothing available downstairs so basically I had to get in my car and leave the hotel to even get a coffee

Being that I was finally without my kids, I was really looking forward to a lazy morning They had very little in the way of food available to purchase The rooms felt clean, but are super dark, the TV worked “so so” I will never stay here again

Overall not a terrible hotel when it comes to aesthetics, We have stayed here before so we felt inclined to do so again My main complaint is the cleanliness of the room The carpet was sticky and my sons feet were black! It was gross

The bathroom door didn’t latch, and the shower door wouldn’t stay closed We spent more money to stay there just to find myself regretting the decision Next time we visit we will be trying another hotel, there are many right near by!
