We arrived four hours early to our hotel so we asked for recommendations of things to do The receptionist at the front desk was very helpful sorry I did not get her name We had a great time with her recommendations

Upon check-in we found our room to be a beautiful clean huge room We stayed in room 2 which is an attic room We had a partial Ocean View out of the west-facing window and also from the balcony outside Will definitely stay again

Carol Lingner

The reviews were correct – this was an excellent hotel From the time I called for availability Angela was very pleasant and accommodating We wanted to stay 3 nights and it was only possible if we switched rooms after 2 nights but then we were so pleased we ended up staying 4 nights! Rooms very clean, beds great- comfy pillows, bathroom spotless, great location

Christine and Angela were both very helpful during our stay No breakfast but free coffee/tea 24/7 Restaurant next door gives 20% discount for hotel guests Hotel may be a tad dated – we found it homey!

Hotel 3; location 0Our room was well appointed and spacious It also had a lovely view of the ocean However, I didn’t know that Cabrillo Highway (the listed address) and Highway 1 is one & the same in that section

Thehotel was on the east side of Highway 1, not the ocean side The traffic noise was horrendous! That wascertainly nothing the hotel could do anything about But it sure made a difference in our quality of stayWe couldn’t enjoy our shared balcony & even with all the windows closed, the traffic was loud & made it difficult to sleep Additionally, soundproofing was non-existent between rooms & between floorsBesides the ocean view, our view included the decrepit, run-down roofs of the gas station next door & another building Again, not something that the hotel can changeNot a restful, peaceful stay Very disappointing

We hosted our wedding here with Nancy as our wedding planner and it was incredible I cannot recommend it enough They are the best wedding organizers I could have asked for!Amazing venue, kind attentive staff, and even if the weather turns there is a terrific backup plan! The guests loved the rooms

I was worried about the fog horn sound but no guests complained of itThe lofts don’t hear any fog horn sound I hear It’s subtle and there is a noise conditioner for you if needed My new husband had no problem sleeping (and we were not drunk after the wedding)If you are thinking about holding your wedding here- this is an AMAZING place with AMAZING people Nancy and Jen are queens of weddings Nancy was so attentive and accommodating Jen did my friend’s wedding here the same month and they said it was equally wonderfulThank you Nancy for your amazing skills and being there for us- Your work & vision made our wedding so wonderful!

Garrett Toy

Had our wedding here late 2021 and it was amazing! Worked mostly with Nancy and she was everything we could ask for from a planner, no need to hire your own Venue itself is great, lots of parking, food was good, everything went smoothly on their end day of As you can see from pictures, it’s at a beautiful location with lots of places you can take pictures

Would highly recommend

Grey Skold

Stayed overnight for a weddingRooms were ugly as sin (just not our taste), but in general everything worked Bed was comfy, bathroom all functioning, balcony was nice, TV was available

Navigating from the parking garage to your room in the hotel is a maze, and the room barely mitigates any noise being made from within the hotel (we could hear people leaving the elevator/chatting in the hotel promenade)I guess if you wanted to see Half Moon Bay this would be the nicest hotel to stay at (it was perfect for the wedding), but personally we found that the price was beyond what the say was worth

Great hotel, especially for Airline Commuting personnel Has a decent restaurant, however, only open for breakfast and dinner, not lunch There is a nice Diner next door, with primarily Asian food, or sandwiches for inexpensive dining in or takeaway

Hotel Staff are always accommodating If you have any issues during your stay, the staff respond immediately No 30 minute wait at this place to get something addressed! They are on it, right away! Convenient 30 minute shuttle 24 hrs to/from airport No laundromat, unfortunately Many hotels offer free or inexpensive washer/dryer accommodations, and I would love it if this hotel also offered, however, it is not offered

Erika Solomon

I hosted a family reunion here The space was great for all our events and space where we just hung out was comfortable and great The hotel staff were wonderful and friendly, bartender made good drinks

Rizsa in events was phenomenal! She was very responsive and helpful in planning throughout the year She worked with and accommodated all my needs related to my room block at a great room rate, staying within our determined budget, food selections by dietary needs, and meeting room set-up If she wasn’t available, other event staff were assets and assisted if needed I highly recommend this hotel for an event It is close to the airport and there it is across the street from the Bay that has a beautiful view and a place to walk along leisurely or for exercise

Denise Keefe

The airport shuttle was on time and comfortable The check in desk attendant was very positive and accommodating The hotel is comfortable and a great location in proximity to easy access to the airport and running paths

The room was clean and quiet The complimentary coffee in the lobby with large cups were greatly appreciated as was the delicious cookie on arrival I am making my next reservation here at the Doubletree, so I will be back this weekend

EXPRECDJ

This is one of the most beautiful settings I have ever experienced in my life The pictures were very appealing, but when you arrive and see it in real life, you will realize how breathtaking this place is The staff was wonderful, the kitchen was fully equipped and amenities such as WIFI and other goodies were great

There was plenty of parking, and the location is only about 15 minutes from Half Moon Bay restaurants, bars, shops and Half Moon Bay State Beach and trails The rooms were small but very clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers were always hotThe views The views are what make this place a small piece of Heaven I watched the most beautiful sunset over the ocean right off the cliffs listening to the waves crashing upon the rocks below At night, we lit the bonfire and drank beers and told jokes and stories while listening to the sounds of the ocean In the morning, I enjoyed watching the whales, dolphins, birds and sea lions while drinking coffee and be at total peace and serenityI cannot say enough how beautiful this setting is I will definitely be back regularly at least once a year to enjoy the peace and calm this hostel provides Highly recommended

Alon Knaan

Stayed here a while ago, and really enjoyed it The whole environment of the hostel is quiet, calm, and peaceful The views were great

Really appreciated the attention to making everything eco-friendly, such as the good bike accommodations, communal refrigerator, and refillable bottles of soap in shower Staying so close to other people did not take away from the experience, but instead gave more opportunities for interaction and conversation Great place!

I stayed here on a road trip with my family this past week and we had a great stay Our room was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable It was easy to access everything we wanted to do in SF and was a quick shuttle ride to the airport for me early in the morning

I loved the views from the little outside stairwell and they had a good amount of breakfast options Decent soap and shampoo in the shower as well as a mini fridge The only downside was that our room didn’t have a microwave But if I were in the area again I would happily stay at this hotel

Alpina R

I enjoyed my stay here McDonald’s directly across the street, Costco less than a minute drive down the street Id stay here again, the hot breakfast buffet was cool my family liked it

Only complaint is it would be nicer if the restaurant was open longer and with a bigger menu and the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser was empty when we arrived This isn’t a deal breaker though, keep up the good work Best Western Plus ! We’ll be back !

sandrine lussier (DiineLussier)

Overall it’s a good hotel It’s clean and smells good Also very nice of them to have a soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower

Breakfast is good Although, during our stay, one of the elevators was broken so there is only one for the whole hotel So during breakfast time, we had to wait for about 5 minutes for the elevator to get to our floor Also, the walls are pretty thin and you can hear people talk in the hallway You can hear the wind also vert clearly through the windows But in all, would definitely recommend

Everything about our stay was outstanding The room was quiet and its design and layout were very comfortable and inviting The kitchenette was well-appointed (maybe add salt and pepper shakers?) and the continental breakfast was fresh, tasty and convenient

The heated pool was clean and the hotel’s proximity to the beach, hiking, town and restaurants was a pleasure We found the mattress a bit too soft, but variability in personal tastes makes perfection unattainable

Michael Roehricht

I myself have stayed at this hotel many, many years ago in the early 2000s and had fond memories so I decided to take my wife for a weekend getaway and we stayed on a Thursday night in February, 2022The hotel itself is not bad The check-in was welcoming and we even were able to buy a bottle of champagne and water at checkin, so we could enjoy both on the patio and watch the sunset

We stayed in a large room on the third floor and enjoyed the view I would rate the view a solid 8 out of 10We went to bed around 9pm and within a few minutes, we both starred at each other and said “I can’t sleep” Needless to say, the fog horn runs 24×7 and goes off every few seconds What we didn’t notice in the evening became torture during the night We played spa music on our phone to try to mask the recurring horn sounds We closed our patio door and window which was tough at 82 degree temps in the room but nope, we could still hear itWe didn’t get much sleep unfortunately We let the hotel know at checkout but it’s not their faultWe won’t be back due to the fog horn

Linda Baldwin

The Beach House was just the right place for me to rest and rejuvenate The property is well appointed and yet not stuffy Everything from the decor to the bedding suggested comfortable rest

Each morning I woke, rolled up the blinds, and took a blanket out to the patio to watch the sun rise – and again at sunset The experience brought a whole new meaning to “Be Still” The rooms are well insulated so there is no noise from other rooms Walking trails everywhere provided me with being outdoors and walking off any residue stress Morning breakfast was a bonus that I appreciated – good selections and good coffee! All of the staff were gracious and never intrusive I will be back, I promise!

My family and I stay here every other month so it’s become sort of a home away from home Really happy to see the cooked to order breakfast is back Omelets and pancakes plus potatoes and sausage along with the normal American continental options

Would love to see some alternative meats offered (turkey or plant based sausage)If you can get a room with a view, it really is lovely I love the trail along the bay There are bikes for rental as wellThe pool wasn’t very clean on our last visit so that could use some regular attentionJulie at the front desk is a gem Airport shuttle is convenient

This property doesn’t want customers who can only stay one night I was traveling for business, I am a Hilton Honors member and was staying one night only as I had training nearby The hotel refused to book me for one night on a Thursday night! They gave me the run around telling me that they were fully booked

Then they finally admitted that they don’t make one night reservations Apparently that’s a hotel “policy” now Well, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen from an Embassy Suites I’ll be taking my business to the Marriott down the street since they still value one night customers! By the way they have also changed their happy hour to 5-6:30 with only 2 drinks per customer We used to hold after training business meetings here and enjoyed the happy hour As responsible adults I think we all should be able to choose how many drinks we decide to have Very bad service from this Hilton property and I will never stay here again I know they don’t care that they’ve lost my business, but just a warning to others that if you need a one night stay you can forget it

Saia Halaliku

The suite we had was great The hotel was easy to get in, and out It was also within a short distance to all the attractions that we wanted to get in this trip

The room was very clean, and a pretty good size The continental breakfast was very good The swimming pool, and the sauna seemed to be very busy, and the common areas were kept Although this property does not have a kitchen, or a full restaurant

We booked the hotel for $154 for the first two nights and $124 for the last nightThe IHOP next to the hotel is very convenient and pretty nice, and it was obvious some of the room had been recently renovated The bathroom was extremely nice and I had no complaints about the furniture or the general condition of the hotel

The two interactions I had with the front desk were polite and the parking garage underground was very easy to access with their centrally located elevatorFor these rates, we received a hotel room with a bathroom door which was damaged/warped from water damage at the bottom, two square foot section of the ceiling which had not been finished painting, ripped curtains, and the carpet was bunching up on the side of the bedWe decided to request a refund through our booking website on the first night of our stay, which was granted However, the next morning at the early checkout, the hotel stated we would still be charged full price until they heard from the booking website and the front desk was unwilling to discuss the refund with meMy stay was very disappointing for what I was being charged and the inflexibility about my refund was my tipping pointUpdate: after one week of back and forth with the hotel and my booking website, my refund was approved albeit only for one night I was charged $359 for staying one night due to the hotel’s 48hr cancellation policy The manager granted me one night refund ($145) because of the hoops I was jumping through for a refund but I still had to pay $359 (for two nights) The hotel’s cancellation policy makes zero sense for a guest that stays one night and checks out early, but it was my fault for not reading the policy

John Boville

This hotel does a lot of false advertising and in general the employees care little for the comfort of the patrons On the website and on the keycard they give you it states that part of the cost of the hotel includes a warm breakfast, a free bottle of wine, chocolates, and a manager’s reception It is only after checking in that they will tell they are actually offering none of this

Secondly, the hotel management cares very little for guest comfort During the time I stayed here, I saw a maximum of 7 cars in the garage Despite having seven guests and 4 floors of rooms (probably around 80 rooms), they decided to put all of the guests on the same floor and on the same side of the floor, so that they are lined up next to each other This is absolutely ridiculous Because the walls are paper thin, my neighbors kept me up the entire night as I could hear their two year old screaming “daddy” every few minutes How insensitive must you be and plain lazy as hotel receptionists to put all of your guests in rooms next to each other when the hotel is empty I will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it to anyone

Jessica Strauther

The hotels actual website, Bookingcom, and google all SAY this hotel provides breakfast Choice’s site shows photos of said breakfast (that’s four different sites, two of which are supposedly this hotels sites)

The front desk clerk waited until after checking me in to let me know there was no breakfast AND all of their other amenities were not being offered at this time aside from the exercise room I was not happy, she was rude and dismissive Fast forward to after our stay, I get an email to do a survey about our stay I do and include that I was unhappy with the lack of amenities and would have booked elsewhere if informed prior to being checked in as opposed to after I get an email from the manager (I assume) who tells me that it is not listed ANYWHERE that they have breakfast I sent screenshots of their site, choice’s site and google I’m told it doesn’t say it on “popular booking sites and most people head straight to those sites so sorry for the misunderstanding” So I send a screenshot of Bookingcom where it says breakfast included Then I’m told I need to call ahead and check and I didn’t so it’s my own fault basically Mind you, I didn’t email them asking for anything I never asked for a discount or refund and this person was speaking to me as if I was just trying to get a free stay out of this THEY EMAILED ME I simply did an honest survey that was sent to me The hotel itself is cute Dated, but cute The elevator is CREEPY and the room smelled bad Staff was rude including management who emailed me after the fact, for what reason I still don’t understand I do not recommend this place

We booked this so we could be close to the airport for an early flight and what a pleasant surprise! Hard wood floors, very clean and modern bathroom, has fireplace and really comfy bed and pillows! Free continental breakfast the next day! I had my trepidations at first but really professionally run! Women at the front desk was friendly and very welcoming!

david johnston

I specifically called the hotel before booking to ask about parking and twice the receptionist told me that up to 10 days was included Of course she neglected to tell me it had to be booked a certain way So I ended up spending 100 more

My whole point staying there was to make it easier to catch an early flight and cover parking I never leave bad reviews unless it was really bad, but I did my part by calling and got something different in person I am not someone who thinks the customer is always right but the service here deserves a poor review There wasn’t even an attempt to compromise Just can’t recommend this type of behavior Also room was nice but it was loud , rooms don’t have much insulation Just a bummer to have conversations like thatAdd insult to injury the manager leaves some lame response like give us another try! Sorry buddy that’s not a credible sorry, just trying to make yourself look ok

Not sure why Google Maps describes this as a 2-star hotel It’s definitely a 3-star inn We stayed here at the beginning & end of a road trip through northern California, because it’s only 30 minutes from SFO

A MUCH nicer choice than the hotel airports We stayed in the Mavericks & Dunes suites Both immaculate and thoughtfully appointed, including an ice machine, snacks & bottled water We loved hearing the fog horn and the barking sea lion Otherwise SO quiet and peaceful Note that the “fireplace” (actually gas stove) is the unit’s heat, and it will kick on and off according to how you set the thermostat on the wall Also note that there is no on-site staff in this very small (6-unit) inn–your room key will be in an envelope in a mailbox We will be back!

Helen Jenkins

Amazing and beautiful place We stayed 6 days for our son’s wedding at the Inn and they accommodated us in every way possible Melissa and all the housekeeping staff were wonderful

The views were amazing and its walking distance to restaurants and shopping The sea lions and fog horns were enjoyable to hear Everything was perfect! Thanks for a wonderful memory!

Maria A

I took my parents here and we couldn’t be more pleased I was impressed with the room quality and cleanliness, and most of all the beautiful view from the room I enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a blanket, drinking a hot chocolate (from their complimentary snack basket), looking at the ocean view while listening to the sea lions barking and fog horn going off every couple of seconds

We were also able to walk to nearby restaurants and brought our food back to the room so we can enjoy the view while we ate It was such a nice retreat and would love to return in the future

I stayed at the Landis Shores 12 years ago and hoped when I went back to the now Oceanfront Hotel that it would be similar One look at the unkempt outside and the overly cluttered lobby should have been enough of a clue to me that it was not anything like Landis Shores Of course the amazing view and sound of the ocean is the same but nothing else is

The room showed signs of being neglected and outdated The curtains were stained and dirty, the upholster chairs were filthy, the curtain rod was rusted completely, there was food in the refrigerator left from a guest that I don’t know how long ago they had been there The Bed was comfortable and the sound of the ocean helped me to relax and sleep very well The other plus to this hotel of course is a day except dogs which is the other reason that I stayed there at the last minute when I wanted to extend a two night stay that I had had another inn in Princeton The Inn At Mavericks it’s always my first choice but they didn’t have a room for that third night that I wanted So I called the ocean front hotel left a message on her voicemail and got a text back stating that they did have a room that met my requirements But I know now that the room did not meet my requirements except that he did have an ocean view and excepted dogs I was disappointed

It has the best view of the ocean But it is not clean, the beds are old and caved in, the towels were stained The balcony door was very hard to open and close it was rusted and old

Everything in the room is dated and old We had a do not disturb sign on our door and housekeeping still tried to come in, the only reason I can think of is to go through our stuff when they thought we were not in the room They also did it to our neighbor who also had a do not disturb sign on their door You can clearly hear the people in the rooms around you We were supposed to stay 2 nights but decided to only stay 1Here are the pros:They allow dogsThere is a dog park a short walk awayThe view is spectacularThe food from the restaurant is decentHere are the cons:DirtyDatedLoudOver pricedQuestionable staffNo one wears masks

If you are ever in need of a warm, clean, and comfortable hotel, Larkspur Landing is the place to stay The staff was so nice and professional The rooms were clean, comfortable, and fully equipped

There was a full kitchen, desk, ironing board and iron, and hair dryer They offer free Wi-Fi service for their guests and continental breakfast with coffee or tea in the early morning There is an additional $13 parking fee If I’m ever in need again, of a room in the San Francisco area, this is where I’ll stay

Overall, the hotel seemed kind of run down and poorly maintained I started off in room 324, but moved to 325 after a couple of days because the bathroom was consistently filling up with cigarette smoke Room 325 didn’t have ventilation issues, but did have a number of other issues such as a cracked stove top, missing cabinetry facing, a cabinet door that wouldn’t close all the way under the sink, and a couple other cosmetic issues

Outside of the room, the hallway feels dated and the second elevator was inoperative for over two weeks during my stay Even the elevator inspection was dated with a document posted stating that the previous certificate was still valid until an inspector could be dispatched This wouldn’t be so alarming except that the document dates from 2019 I know there was a pandemic and all in between then an now, but we’re not exactly in the middle of a lockdown as of May, 2022

King Bed Room Is not actual king bedI booked a king bed room because I have a 1 year boy need to sleep with us When I entered the room realized that it’s not kind bed We went to reception, she told me this is the king bed room they have

It’s obvious the bed they offer is not king but the receptionist told us we still have time to cancel if we want I don’t understand why I need to pay more if this is just an standard room The worst part is the attitude the hotel gave us She just wanted us to leave if we are not happy with the bed It’s 10 pm at night how can we find another hotel last minutes Awful customer service Be careful of what you book !!

Hotel itself is very clean This review is specifically for their front desk staff who are extremely unwelcoming When I walked up to the front desk, NONE of the three staff members working even bothered to say “welcome/hello/hi”, nope, not even a smile

This was a recurring issue throughout my stay They are not even helpful, when I asked a few questions about the area and food recommendations, the front desk people could not be bothered to answer, and instead were very dismissive Given the cost per night, and the newness of the hotel, it would be nice to have workers at the front desk who make a guest feel welcome Given that its the only hotel in of its quality in the area, guests are kind of locked into receiving the bad treatment Do better Marriott, the world is too hard, can you please employ folks who make business travelers feel more welcome?

Room was clean for the most part, except for some funky stain on floor near toilet and on the curtains I can guess what goes on in this hotel being so near a couple pharmaceutical companies, and the lobby bar being pretty busy However I was there with my son for drop off at SFSU and that was really convenient

Food was great in the restaurant, the wait staff was really nice, as well as the front desk crew The not so good is the water pressure in the rooms is barely strong enough to wash the soap I know we’re in a drought, but jeezus, after a long day of travel it would be nice to take a 3-5 min shower with some pressure

Yvette

Our bed had fresh pee on it And when I called downstairs the incompetent lady in the front desk basically said I had peed on it lol she asked me if I wanted fresh sheets (no I wanted to sleep on the old dirty ones ) then she said she would talk to her coworker and let me know

let me know what? If I can get fresh sheets? The big solution they had for me was just turn the mattress over So either they never changed the sheets from the previous guest or they saw it and just added fresh sheets over the pee and expected me not to notice Either way it was disgusting
